Out Of The Past
"Hi, I'm Will leader of the Guardians of the Veil defender of the secrets of the Heart of Kandrakar." Will narrated, as she was sitting in the courtyard of the palace of Eternos she sat and watched the birds flying by, she looked to see Hay Lin sketching some of the architecture of the palace, while Taranee was enjoying a game of holo chess with Roboto and it seemed the two were evenly matched. Until she managed to capture his king and she won, though his face didn't show it Roboto was silently impressed. Cornelia and Irma meanwhile were watching Teela train with Adam and Caleb with staffs.
"Thats Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin my fellow guardians and best friends. Awesome secrets were revealed to us the day I was bestowed the crystal that turned us into who we are now." She looked to Adam clashing staffs with Teela who swiftly flipped away from the Prince's attack then ducked under a staff swipe from Caleb who threw several strikes at her only for her to block his attack jump over his head then kicked him in the back. However Adam leaped in and then did a leg swipe tripping the Captain of the Guard to the ground, pressing the advantage he tried to strike her with his staff. Except Teela wasn't one to go down so easily she blocked the strike crouched back kicked the staff out of Adams hands jumped up wrapped her legs round his neck and tossed him into an incoming Caleb and the two ended up in a defeated pile on the ground. Much to Cornelia and Irma's amused laughs and cheering Teela on.
Teela stood over her defeated opponents, smiled and offered her hands to them. The two smiled and accepted it and she pulled them up. She was very impressed by Adams improvement and by Caleb's own skills as a fighter.
"The blonde guy over there is Adam, Prince of Eternia and defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull, and sometimes he's a buff warrior named He-Man and together we fight to free Meridian." Will smiled seeing this bonding scene. "But recently we decided to visit Adams home of Eternia, and well after some misunderstandings, and a major power upgrade we kicked Skeletors butt and now we're enjoying some time off. Even if it is our last day here before we return home for school."
Just then Man At Arms appeared in the courtyard asking for all of the Masters and Guardians included to meet up in his workshop for an important meeting regarding Skeletor. This got everyones attention immediately, so they dropped their activities with Hay Lin putting away her sketchbook, Taranee and Roboto leaving their game and Teela, Adam and Caleb picking up their respective weapons from the stone bench. Will instantly pulled out a certain crystal knowing what was coming next.
"But something tells me it'll be a day we won't forget." She ran off after her friends to Man At Arms workshop.
Eternian Plains:
A great battle was taking place under Eternia's beating sun. He-Man and Skeletor leaped into the air and clashed their respective swords together before landing on the ground struggling against the might of the other the metal in the swords screeched. Skeletor suddenly pushed He-Mans sword back then with a mighty kick he sent his enemy flying into a boulder shattering to pieces. Burying him under the rocks.
"HEHAHAHAHAHAH!" Skeletor cackled having defeated his enemy.
"Hey Skelebrain!" He turned round to be greeted by a huge blast of water sending him flying across the ground. His now soaking wet hood looked to see Irma in her Guardian form hovering above him. "Did your plastic surgeon mess up again cause I don't see a change in your complexion?"
Skeletor growled in fury as he got back up to face his opponent but suddenly a grunt was heard. In turning round he saw He-Man had blasted himself free from the rock pile. Skeletor was startled so much he didn't notice incoming fireballs which pelted him with great force. He looked up and saw Taranee in her Guardian form was firing down from the air. Skeletor growled with his eyes glowing red in fury.
"Don't just stand there fools! ATTACK!" He yelled out.
On command some of Skeletors Evil Warriors appeared and attacked Trap Jaw, Beast Man and Tri-Klops were on the offence. Trap Jaw and Tri-Klops fired their respective energy weapons towards Irma who quickly flew out of the way.
BeastMan lashed his whip blasting back the fireballs from Taranee when suddenly a large gust of air blasted him across the ground forcing him to dig his massive claws into the floor holding him in place. The cause of the massive gust was Hay Lin in her Guardian form.
Massive vines suddenly emerged from the ground and latched around Tri-Klops right arm pulling him back. This took him by surprise seeing Cornelia had influenced the earth around her, the proceeding to fly forwards and land a solid punch into Tri-Klops jaw sending him flying into the air and then was rammed by a swinging staff compliments of Teela on her Sky Sled.
Trap Jaw saw his comrade was in trouble and aimed his energy cannon at the Captain of the Guard but before he could fire a massive hurricane stuck him from behind he turned to see Sy-Klone on his sky sled manipulating the air around him flinging air disks towards him striking him in the arm and leg. Will and Hay Lin swooped in and delivered a powerful spin kick sending Trap Jaw crashing into Tri-Klops.
"Gah I've got morons on my team!" Skeletor growled. A looming shadow then appeared over him and when he turned round he saw He-Man using his mighty strength to lift up one of the boulders from the rock pile.
"Hey Skeletor think fast!" He-Man tossed the boulder right into his enemy sending him crashing into one of the mountain walls, and lay flat on the ground. He saw he was at the mercy of He-Man and the Guardians.
"Looks like you got rocked Skeletor." Will smirked.
"Alright! I know when I'm beaten!" Skeletor whined as he secretly pressed a button on his gauntlet.
"Wow and here I thought you were made of tougher stuff?" Irma smirked. Their gloating however was short lived as Hay Lin heard something through the air a sort of rumbling revving sound.
"Wait what's…LOOK OUT!" She yelled and everyone looked to see Skeletors Battle Ram Chariot charge in and crashed into He-Man sending him flying into one of the large rocks nearby. The Guardians however flew out of the way of the charging chariot.
"He-Man!" Will exclaimed as she and the other girls went to help him. The smoke cleared showing he was uninjured but collapsed to the ground leaving an body indent in the stone, as Will and Cornelia flew down to help him to his feet.
"I do hope you don't bruise easily He-Man HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!" Skeletor cackled as he mounted and rode away on his chariot into the distance.
"I'll get him!" Taranee aimed a fire ball right at the chariots right wheel.
"No Taranee, let him go!" Will called. "I think he's had enough."
"She's right what's the status on the convoy?" He-Man then asked. Hay Lin flew up higher into the air to survey the area, and then she saw it. Some large looking beasts known as Kulatak's with what looked like large huts on their sides.
"The convoys all okay!" Hay Lin called.
"Good to hear." She looked as Teela, Sy-Klone and Battle Cat joined them. He-Man mounted his loyal companion and looked to the other Masters.
"I'll catch up to the convoy and see that they get back to the palace safely!" He-Man told them.
"Cornelia, Taranee, Irma go with He-Man and stay with the convoy Skeletor and his goons may have some more traps on the path ahead." Will instructed the guardians of Fire, Water and Earth.
"Hay Lin and I will go with Teela and Sy-Klone back to the palace and meet you there." Will then said to the nodding Masters.
With that He-Man and Battle Cat rode after the convoy with the three Guardians flying close behind. Teela, Sy-Klone and the other two fly back in the direction of the Royal Palace.
"Well looks like your dad was right about this convoy Teela." Hay Lin said.
"Yep, he predicted Skeletor would ambush the council members on the way to todays meeting." Teela spoke.
Man At Arms had recently suspected that Skeletor and his Evil Warriors might attempt to launch an attack against the council members from other kingdoms in transit to the summit at Eternos. Using this as an act to strike fear in all of Eternia by attacking its leaders. So The Masters coordinated efforts with the Guardians and He-Man to watch the convoy on route to the palace in case Skeletor was waiting and he was right.
"Your dad sure knows how to outsmart Skeletor, he could sure be helpful in helping Caleb and the rebels in Meridian." Will said.
"Heh I'll take that as a compliment, but yeah my father fought against him during the Great Unrest." Teela spoke.
"You mean back when he was Keldor?" Hay Lin asked.
"Yeah, so he's become used to predicting his every move it's how we've been able to defend Eternia and Grayskull for so long." Teela said.
"Indeed." Sy-Klone agreed. "To defeat an enemy one must think as he does."
Teela nodded in agreement before she turned to Will. "Not quite how you kids imagined spending your last day on Eternia before returning to Earth huh?"
"Eh so far attacks like this are another Monday for us now." Will shrugged with a chuckle.
Teela chuckled at that. "Well I guess we can't let you return home without at least one last bit of action before you girls and Adam rejoin the fight in Meridian."
"Sad he'll be going?" Hay Lin asked teasingly much to Teelas indignant look.
"N…No not really besides he's got his duty on Earth with you girls and I've got mine here." Teela then shrugged off.
"I'm sure he's gonna miss you too Teela, besides he's promised to visit when he can." Will giggled. "His words not mine."
The Captain of the Guard couldn't help but smile at that as she focussed on the path ahead. However as she looked on, her gaze began to turn westward to a mountain pass close to the plains. Suddenly she saw a new landscape before her eyes it looked like mountainous and green terrain but within a small clearing looked like a village, and the villagers were constructing huts.
"Teela?" Wills voice called.
"What is it Teela?" Sy-Klone then said snapping Teela out of her trance.
"Hey you okay?" Hay Lin asked.
"Oh uh..y…yes I'm fine it's nothing." Teela dismissed looking to Sy-Klone and Hay Lin. "Ah you go on ahead I'll see you back at the palace there's something I have to check out."
Without another word Teela and her Sky Sled flew off into the distance leaving two confused Guardians and one curious Gar behind. "What was that about?" Hay Lin asked.
"Unknown, but we best move on." Sy-Klone suggested and so they flew off back to the palace. Will took one last look at the clearing before she joined them.
Teela continued on her present course to the east, and she soon arrived at the valley she saw in her visions. It was rather foggy but fortunately it was no hindrance and it wasn't long before she found the village that lay in a small clearing below. She wasn't sure why but although she hadn't been to this part of Eternia before, it all somehow felt familiar somehow.
"Its as if I knew that village was th…" Teela was so distracted by her thoughts she neglected to see where she was going and she crashed her Sky Sled right into a pointed rock knocking her off the sled and rolling down to the grass covered ground below. The crash knocked her unconscious.
She couldn't move but in her unconscious state her mind began to wander. She saw herself in a foggy terrain but looked to see a silhouetted figure in front of her wielding a staff which glowed at the very tip of it.
Back in reality it would seem she had been found by someone, two of the local natives found her lying in the grassy ground.
Snake Mountain:
Back at the evil stronghold Skeletor had summoned his warriors to the heart of the fortress after their recent loss.
"So big deal! The Kulatak got away, they weren't even carrying any Eternium we could steal." Trap Jaw said to Evil Lynn.
"They're members of the Eternian Council, which Skeletor in his wisdom seeks to destroy." Evil Lyn spoke. "Despite the fact we should be focusing more on the Guardians of the Veil."
"All in good time Evil Lyn." They looked up to the shadows of the throne before them. "Make no mistake I will eliminate those fools but for now eliminating the council is my main concern! If Randor succeeds in using the Council to widen his power base my conquest of Eternia is threatened. Well two can play at that game!" Skeletor proclaimed as more of his Evil Warriors arrived before him. "I too shall widen my domain by conquering villages and cities throughout the land! Behold!" He raised his hand and suddenly the room began to shake much to Beast Man and Tri-Klop's shock as suddenly a large structure emerged from the floor of the fortress, it looked like some kind of pit filed with a green liquid of some kind overflowing over the edges.
The warriors looked confused, but their answers to why came when Skeletor used the power of his Havoc Staff to blast the wall summoning his most deadly minions his Skeleton Warriors. Three of them emerged from the wall much to the surprise of his Evil Warriors. The Skeleton Warriors marched towards the large alter and dropped into the pit full of green slime and after a brief glow. The monsters emerged from the pit with the slime coating them. Skeletor cackled evilly at his handy-work as now he was ready to make his move.
Eternos:
Meanwhile back at the Royal Palace, the convoy had reached the palace safely and the summit had gone very well indeed and now the alliance was stronger against the threat that Skeletor presented to Eternia. Hay Lin was in the courtyard practicing her air powers with Sy-Klone they were swaying their arms around moving the air currents around them then pushing it forwards as a big gust.
"Very good Hay Lin you are improving well." Sy Klone complimented.
"Thanks, I think I'm getting the hang of it." Hay Lin suggested.
"Indeed you are granddaughter, it would seem yours and the rest of the girls time spent with the Masters is helping you develop your abilities." Yan Lin then came over to see how her granddaughter was doing.
"Yes it would seem your friend Cornelia is taking to her element very well also." Sy-Klone pointed across the courtyard and they looked to see Cornelia was sitting crosslegged in front of Mossman who sat in a similar position. Cornelia had her eyes closed the whole time but she wasn't asleep she was in a meditative state.
"Free your mind, let go of old thinking and focus on the world around you." Moss Man spoke to her softly.
"Uh no offence MossMan but how is meditating going to help me understand my powers more?" Cornelia breathed a sigh. "I mean don't get me wrong I do stuff in yoga but how's this going to work with plants and trees?"
"And that right there is part of the issue kid." MossMan then said. "You believe that your powers are limited by the simple trees and plants you see, but nature is so much more than that." MossMan explained as he grew a flower out of the very palm of his hand before with one breath from his mouth the petals flew off into the air. "But what we must understand is that our power literally comes from the nature all around us. You said you managed to summon lava right?"
"Yeah because it's like superheated rocks right?" Cornelia shrugged.
"Well there ya go, you work outside of what ya thought. The key is finding yourself in your element." MossMan said. "Lets try something now close your eyes and let yourself go just focus on the green."
The Earth Guardian was confused but none the less she chose to listen to him, and so she closed her eyes and breathed. She was beginning to feel herself connect to everything around her, from the grass blowing on her legs to the very bushes blowing in the breeze but then in that moment she began to feel something more even as her golden hair blew in the breeze leaves blowed from it. Just then a small sap began to grow before her and it grew bigger and bigger until finally. Cornelia opened her eyes and it blossomed into a beautiful rose.
"Whoa." Cornelia breathed seeing what she'd managed to do and it didn't overgrow this time. "D…did I do that?"
"You sure did kiddo nice work, but tell me what were you feeling?" MossMan asked.
"I…I could feel…feel I felt like I could feel everything around me the plants, the mountains and everything else even the ground below me." Cornelia tried to explained. "Its like they were talking to me?"
"Thats what's known as Green-speak if you focus enough you can hear the nature around you speak." MossMan explained. "In a way both our worlds are like one big garden one that must be protected from those who would spoil it."
"Wow I never thought about it like that, thanks thats a huge help." Cornelia smiled rather amazed and MossMan smiled back in return happy he was able to help her better commune with her powers.
Meanwhile on the stone stairs near Man At Arms workshop Will, Adam and Irma were sat outside with their backpacks opened as well as their school notebooks. They were writing in them working on something.
"Adam." Called a voice and they looked to see King Randor and Queen Marlena approach the three of them.
"Oh hey your majesties." Will greeted.
"Hiya." Irma greeted.
"Hi Dad, hi Mom." Adam waved.
It was then Randor noticed what his son and their friends were doing. "What is this you are doing?"
"School work if you can believe it." Adam said.
"Yeah it's a group project me and Adam are doing for history." Will said. "We have to write a report on great battles in history."
"I wanted to do the history of the Great Unrest." Adam said. "But Professor Colins said that maybe Lord of the Rings was a little too much for real life." He said a little jokingly.
His mother shared his chuckle as she got that reference. "Hehehe yes it probably would." Marlena chuckled.
"Well I'm glad to see your putting some time into your studies son." Randor said impressed. "Perhaps one day you could teach your mother and I about what Earth is like."
"Eh give him a few more classes and a college degree and maybe he will." Irma joked and everyone shared a laugh.
"Oh ho no need to be so sarcastic Irmy." Adam sarcastically said.
"Oh Corny told you to say that didn't she." Irma said a little annoyed.
"Okay guys break it up." Will said but she couldn't help but chuckle at that joke.
The two royals couldn't help but smile at the way Adam and the girls interacted with each other, and were glad their son now had friends outside of the Masters to interact with his mother most of all. Just then she noticed that the girls were short of one member, not to mention the absence of a certain Passling and Rebel.
"Ah where is Taranee?" Marlena asked.
"Oh she went to Castle Grayskull with Orko, said she wanted to learn more about Eternia's history." Adam answered.
"Why did she not use the Royal Library?" Randor asked.
"I guess she's curious about the Elders and the Hall of Wisdom." Adam shrugged.
"Yeah she's wanted to learn more of your planet before the Great Unrest happened." Will explained. "Guess she wanted to hear it from the words of the Elders."
"I would not blame her." Randor smiled in agreement. "But what of Caleb?"
"He's with Duncan helping him out in his workshop and Blunk I'm guessing is wandering the castle." Adam explained.
"Yeah so you might expect a few things to go missing with him around." Irma pointed out.
"Rest assured Irma I'm fully aware of Passling habits and I have a feeling he will find it quite difficult to find things to trade here." Randor joked.
He was right, for in the castle hallways Blunk found himself being chased by some of the Eternos Royal Guards. The passling himself was carrying around random objects like Man At Arms spare helmet, couple of gold vases and some old axes.
"AHH BLUNK SORRY BLUNK SORRY!"
Courtyard:
"Yeah that sounds about right." Will joked to which they all shared a laugh. Just as the king and queen left at that moment she looked around but could see they were still missing a certain someone.
"Hey has anyone noticed that Teela still hasn't come back yet?" Will asked.
"Yeah noticed that too, and isn't she usually the most punctual person?" Irma asked.
"Why where'd she go?" Adam asked given he or rather He-Man wasn't there when she left.
"I'm not sure she just took off roughly eastward said she'd meet us back at the palace but she's still not come back yet." Will explained.
"Should we be worried?" Hay Lin asked as she and Cornelia came over.
"Hey don't worry, if there's one think I know about Teela she knows how to handle herself." Adam smiled. "She's pretty tough."
The girls all smiled slyly at that statement making Adam look all confused why were they smiling like that? "What?" Adam asked still confused while the girls giggled among themselves.
Elsewhere:
Teela lay unconscious on what seemed to be a very soft bed made of straw. Her eyes fluttered open as she slowly sat up with her hand to her head as she still felt dizzy from the crash. Looking at her environment she could see she was in a hut of some kind. She was suddenly alerted by the opening of the hut door and seeing a shadowed figure. On instinct she leapt up fists up, ready for anything, unfortunately she was still dazed from the crash she felt dizzy and collapsed to the ground. She regained her senses looked up and saw a short looking white furred creature with large yellow eyes with black slits and large white and gray ears. He had a long white beard and a red robe with a wooden round ended staff. This appeared to be the village elder.
"We have not forgotten. Just as you have not. You have returned." The Elder simply said offering her his staff.
Teela was weary of what was going on but none the less accepted the staff and looked at it. "Ah hah I know I took a blow to the head but…" She tried to stand up but hit her head on the low roof. She looked and saw some of the other villagers standing outside the hut some were furrier with shorter ears or large eyebrows. "I've never seen any of you before?" This was met with chuckles among the villagers.
"You are still shaken from your injury." The Elder told her and extended his hand to the hut entrance. "Come refresh your memory."
So just for the sake of curiosity Teela stepped out of the hut to observe her new surroundings with the Elder. She wasn't sure why but while she hadn't been here before there was something familiar about this place.
Snake Mountain:
Skeletor was brooding over a holo globe of Eternia. "Now. Who shall be the lucky recipient of my first attack?" He mused and as he thought a foul stench filled the air and he turned to see Stinkor in the room.
"How about here, my home village of Pelleezeea." Stinkor suggested. "They got it coming!" It was clear he had an axe to grind with his old homeland before he was transformed into the Evil Warrior he is now.
"Pelleezeea?" Skeletor wondered. "Why not, I could use some amusement." He looked to Stinkor who was still stinking up the place. "Now back downstairs Stinkor. Quickly." He said holding his cloak over his face to shield him from the stink as Stinkor walked away much to his relief.
In another part of the former Snakemen stronghold, Evil Lyn was stirring with her magics. She focussed her dark magic into her staff. It seemed she was looking at memories of a certain red headed girl.
"You know it's rude to enter without knocking." Evil Lyn said with even turning her head as Tri-Klops was leaning on the entrance to her domain.
"Your still looking over those memories from that Guardian?" Tri-Klops asked.
"If you must know I am trying to discern where she and her fellow Guardians hail from, and perhaps more beside." Evil Lyn said. "If what Beast Man told us is correct there maybe a reason why this new generation of Guardians has come to be besides coming to Eternia. Are you not curious as to what and why?"
"I have as much curiosity about some other world than I do planning our next move against He-Man and the Masters." Tri-Klops said.
Evil Lyn just sighed unamused. "Even with three eyes you are still blind, now leave me to my studies!" Evil Lyn said.
"Whatever." Tri-Klops said as he took his leave, and so Evil Lyn continued to study Wills memories, but all she could find were useless memories of her parents divorce and first coming to her school in Heatherfield. So far there was nothing of significance.
Pelleezeea:
Teela now found herself facing a giant stone wall with what looked like a mural on it. This mural it seems depicted a woman who bore a striking resemblance to the Captain of the Guard holding a staff in the air in a heroic pose.
"The Wall of Remembrance." The Elder explained. "It is here where we record the great moments in our history."
Teela was completely bewildered. "I…dreamed this." She breathed, squinting her eyes she could see the carving of the woman had a remarkable similarity to her except she had long hair and was in different clothing.
"You think this is me?" Teela realised looking to the Elder to which he nodded as she looked back to the mural. "Well okay I admit it looks kind of like me. How old is this carving?" She then asked.
The Elder did some calculations with his fingers and counted the numbers. "Seventeen seasons of a field." He replied.
"Well there you go I wasn't even born I'm only sixteen." Teela shrugged as she walked away, but all the Elder could do was chuckle.
"A sorceress can appear as any age she pleases." He then said which caused Teela to stop in her tracks.
"Heh well trust me I'm no sorceress." She scoffed.
Castle Grayskull:
Within the ancient fortress all seemed quiet, but in the ancient archives a certain Fire Guardian was nose deep in reading any book she could get her hands on. Since arriving in Eternia she's wanted to know more about this planets history beyond what Adam told her. She could've used the royal library but she decided to read the words of Eternia's Elders and the collective knowledge of the Hall of Wisdom before its fall.
"Wow." Taranee breathed as she read a page from another great tomb she had in front of her it mainly consisted of the history of the Hall of Wisdom, and as she turned the page she reached a chapter of history before the Great Unrest namely the war with the Snakemen.
"Hey Taranee whatcha looking at?" Orko said floating down from a book case as he carried down another book for her.
"Just reading about the Hall of Wisdom and got to this bit about the Snakemen." Taranee said as she looked to the illustrations depicting the Snakemen and their master Hiss. "Whoa Adam wasn't kidding according to this history the Snakemen were beyond ruthless and they almost overwhelmed ancient Eternia."
"No kidding, it must be why they became such a scary bed time story after they were banished and forgotten by history." Orko said showing some sock puppets of snakes.
"Well thats the thing about history Orko, sometimes history has a way of being…" Taranee turned another page but when she did she saw something that caught her eye. "Unearthed." It looked like an illustration of a battle at Grayskull itself except it was white. But what really got her attention was the warrior fighting the Snakemen before the castle it looked strangely like He-Man except with longer hair and strange looking armour. With her curiosity peaked she read on about a great battle, but then when she turned the page again she saw the same warrior at some kind of forge making something, then looked to see a familiar illustration of a certain crystal that belonged to a friend of hers. "Hey isn't that…"
Her trail of thoughts was interrupted by the screeching sound of a bird, but not just any bird. She looked up and saw a white, orange and blue falcon perching on the pillar above. The falcon flew down and in a blinding light it changed into the Sorceress much to Taranees surprise.
"Whoa thats a neat trick." Taranee breathed.
"Tell me about it." Orko agreed.
"I see you have taken a great liking to the archives Taranee." The Sorceress greeted.
"Ah uh yes mam I have." Taranee stuttered still in surprise. "No library on Earth can beat this, plus learning about the Hall of Wisdom it kinda makes me wish I could see it."
"Yes but sadly the Hall of Wisdom has been nothing but ruins for so many years since the aftermath of the Great Unrest." The Sorceress mused. "All that remains is contained here in the castle."
"I know but still the ruins have got to have their share of secrets, or at least some value of knowledge or a historical site." Taranee said.
The Sorceress couldn't help but smile at Taranee's keen curiosity and hunger for knowledge. "Your keen knowledge and curiosity serve you well Fire Guardian for you may see things that others cannot."
"Oh she does Sorceress you should've seen her when we were lost in the Labyrinth on Meridian or even at Snake Mountain when she got the idea of Cornelia using lava to make a bridge!" Orko agreed. "She's a real genius."
"Ah cut it out Orko ya gonna make me blush." Taranee said bashfully.
"Do not be so bashful, for knowledge can be a warriors greater strength than just brute force alone." The Sorceress said. At that moment she felt a ripple in the ether of Eternia, she had a flash of a certain village and of a certain lost Captain of the Guard.
"Sorceress?" Taranee called trying to get her attention until she was snapped back to reality. "Hey you okay?"
"Ah y…yes Taranee I am fine." Sorceress said. "Excuse me there is something I must attend to." She then flew away from the archive with her wings leaving both the Fire Guardian and Trollan confused.
The Sorceress arrived in the main hall before her viewing mirror. She closed her eyes and focused her mind. "Man at Arms." She called out.
Eternos:
Man at Arms was with Caleb in his workshop, the Master of Technology was working on something with his welding touch. Once finished he raised his welding visor and looked at his handiwork.
"That should do it." Man At Arms said as he picked up what he'd created. It was a sword but with some modifications in the blade. "Well Caleb give it a try." He handed the sword to the rebel leader who took it and then gave it a swing, held it upright then suddenly the blade split in half and he swung the now two swords in his hands.
"Its perfect and it's really lost the ounce." Caleb said impressed. "This is gonna be really useful, thanks Man At Arms."
"Oh please Caleb no need to stand on ceremony it's Duncan." Man At Arms said with a chuckle.
"Okay thanks Duncan." Caleb amended. "But I gotta say your pretty good at your craft making advanced weaponry like this." He said looking round his workshop and the number of vehicles present. "I can see why the Masters have been able to hold of Skeletor as long as they have."
"Thank you, I do take pride in my work, but I don't just create weapons, I do help build things that help for every day use." He said.
"Yeah I kinda remember Adam saying how you first built Roboto to be a chess player for Man-E-Faces." Caleb remembered.
"Yes, and you could say despite his upgrades he still enjoys his matches with him." Duncan said. "But in the end Caleb it isn't the weapons that we make that win a battle its the people wielding them that make all the difference."
"I can see why Adam speaks of you so much, he's really learned a lot from you, even with all thats going on." Caleb said.
Duncan couldn't help but smile at that compliment. Just then he felt something in his mind. "Man at Arms." He heard her voice calling it was the Sorceress. "Come to Grayskull at once."
Caleb noticed the look on Duncans face. "Duncan is something wrong?" He asked.
"I'm sorry Caleb I must go the Sorceress needs me at Castle Grayskull." Man At Arms explained.
"Trouble?" Caleb wondered.
"I'm not quite sure yet but you better find Adam and the girls I have a feeling we may need their help." Man At Arms explained as he put his helmet on and hurried out of the workshop to his Wind Raider.
Castle Grayskull:
Man at Arms and the Sorceress were now standing in the main hall of the Castle before the viewing mirror. "What I am about to recount, no mortal has ever been told."
Man At Arms nodded and the Sorceress used her magic staff channeling it into her viewing mirror. Little did they know they were being watched for in the doorway Yan Lin was there watching. She had recently seen Man At Arms heading to leave Eternos and wondered if something was wrong. So she decided to follow by stowing aboard the Wind Raider before he left.
The viewing mirror began to show the Sorceress's tale back to a time long before the Great Unrest. It showed the Sorceress wandering the halls of Grayskull.
"It was many years ago the isolation of these walls had become too much for me to bear…" The Sorceress wanders into the main hall seeing nothing but emptiness and the remains of stone gargoyles and remnants of the past. "I longed to walk amongst Eternians, to hear the laughter of children."
The very walls of the castles Crystal Chamber glistened with beauty and at its heart lay the Crystal Orb itself the very Heart of Eternia itself. The Sorceress keeps a solitary vidil over it.
"Skeletor's evil had not yet infected the power of the Elders was secure within the Crystal Chamber." Though the Sorceress's duty was clear and her will strong, her inner desires to walk outside the walls of the castle still lingered within her. So she made a decision.
Outside the castle walls the Sorceress in her Falcon form Zor, flew from the castle and into the open sky. She soon found herself flying over a certain mountain pass and soon landed in a nearby clearing fluttering her wings and changing back to her original form. In a brief flash of light the Sorceress now took on the form of a young woman still maintaining some part of her attire but had long flowing red hair, she did bare a striking resemblance to Teela. Looking down she saw a small village below this was the village of Pelleezeea.
"I came upon a peaceful village." She soon found herself walking into the village as a stranger where she was welcomed with open arms by the Pelleezeans many walked up to her with a smile."the villagers were welcoming and generous offering me food to eat and a place to sleep." In a hut one offered her food in the form of fruit, and she accepted with a smile, she was getting accustomed to life outside the castle.
Later she was lying on the grass and picked a beautiful pink flower from the ground gazing at her reflection in the clear sweet water. "There were simple pleasures to be had, for the first time in as long as I could remember I felt…" She smiled as she gazed at her reflection, for the first time she felt free with no burdens or obligations what so ever. "…at peace."
Sadly as Teela Na was picking the petals off a flower the peaceful moment of the world was shattered, by a loud explosion. Catching her completely by surprise. "But the peace was shattered…."
Swooping in over the green fields of this peaceful land were sinister warrior looking characters dark in skin with red rode gliders of silver with red diamonds in the centre Their leader was large looking with massive horns, red eyes and blue markings on his chest and horns.
"...when an evil warlord by the name of Prahvus attacked the village." Prahvus and his minions bombarded the village with purple coloured fire balls destroying all in their path. The villagers panicked and fled for their very lives utterly defenceless.
"The villagers tried to defend themselves.." The Warlords rode closer to the village as the villagers hurried to a hut and one of the invaders laid a carefully aimed shot at a certain hut destroying it completely. "but a young boy had informed the warlord of where the weapons were kept."
As the invaders board above them a distance away it appeared they had been betrayed by one of their own, a young Paleezian, who would later grow to be a greater threat than the warlords ever could be.
"Ya see that easy target just like Odiphus told you. Odiphus is a big help, can Odiphus join up?" The young one known as Odiphus said however the Warlord just growled before he charged into battle attacking the village with his glider mercilessly. One elder of the village bearing a certain staff was caught in the crossfire as a blast hit the ground near him. Scaring off the deer that were there.
The villager tried to get up as he reached for his staff and was soon offered a helping hand, by the young woman who came to their village. Accepting that help the Sorceress helped the villager to his feet. "Though much of my power had been left behind in Grayskull. I summoned what power I could." The sorceress took the villagers staff and decided to help, though not at her full strength she had power enough to defend herself.
The Warlord and his minions continued bombarding the village destroying everything around Sorceress emerged from the flames to stand against these barbarians. She concentrated what power she had into the staff as her eyes glowed the brightest gold. Prahvus and his minions fired upon the stranger and it seemed the blasts hit her however the smoke was blasted away as she now had golden wings on her back which disappeared instantly. Prahvus saw this stranger stood in his way and with a roar he unleashes his gliders power upon her.
However the Guardian of Grayskull wasn't going down without a fight. The blasts were just deflected by an invisible barrier that surrounded her, in all the chaos the villagers couldn't believe what they saw, this stranger was standing her ground against her foes with nothing but a staff in her hand.
The Sorceress decided it was time to take the fight to them, and so with a glowing golden aura she took to the sky. She saw a warrior coming in from the right and with one swift strike her her magic shield the warriors glider was blown to pieces. Another attacked from the front only to receive the same fate as his comrade.
Now only the warlord himself remained, he would not be humiliated by this stranger who dared to stand against him. The two looked at each other squarely in the eye both waiting for the other to make the first move. Teela Na channeled her power into the staff while Prahvus unleashed a powerful blast from his gauntlet taking the Sorceress by surprise but fortunately she used her power to deflect the blast before her eyes glowed golden. The two charged at each other for one more clash but with the extension of her hand, she stopped Prahvus's glider and it just hovered in place without movement at all. Prahvus in his anger leapt from his glider, energised his gauntlet and tried to land a punch on the stranger.
Much to his surprise however, Teela Na caught his gauntlet in her own hand with very little effort. Then to his horror, his gauntlet lost power and with one blast from her staff Teela Na blasted him away and he lost his gauntlet. He landed with his defeated forces and looked up in sure shock to this mysterious stranger as she held his gauntlet in her hand.
So with no choice he and his forces were forced to withdraw on the only remaining glider they had left and disappeared into the distance. Teela Na watched as the attackers fled before she disintegrated the gauntlet in her hands.
"…Fortunately it was enough." She descended back to the ground to find herself surrounded by the villagers praising her as the hero who saved them. The village elder was in surprise and had a look of gratitude to the stranger. She bowed and offered the staff back to him, and just as he took it the sound of whining and struggling could be heard, they all turned to see the guards had apprehended the one who betrayed them and tossed him to the ground for judgement.
The young one looked up to see the Elders angered eyes who saw there was only one punishment. He raised his staff ready to strike down the young one only for Teela Na to stop him, asking him to show some mercy to him as this wasn't justice.
"Young Odiphus." He addressed him. "You shall be punished for your treacherous behaviour! For your crimes you are herby banished from the village forever!" He ordered much to Odiphus's horror. "Go! And never return!"
Much to the young ones irk he had no choice so he left the village in disgrace and exile. "You will pay, you all will Odiphus will get power and when Odiphus do you will all bow before Odiphus!" He yelled as he left into the distance disappearing from view.
Overtime the young ones vow had all but been forgotten by the world and peace had returned to Pelleezeea. The villagers using carving stones had carved a memorial into the wall of remembrance of the Sorceress honouring her as the hero of their village.
"Again peace came to the village, but beyond its boarders Prahvus had joined with other war lords." The Sorceress continued showing these events to Man At Arms. "Terrorising other villages throughout the land."
"Yes, the Great Unrest. A time we remember all too well." Man At Arms remembered. The Sorceress continued her story.
"It was soon after, that a wounded soldier was brought to the village." The Palleezians brought into the village on a stretcher a soldier dressed in green and orange but his face and arm were covered in bandages so Teela Na couldn't see his face, however she could see he was wounded in a battle.
Soon he was in one of the village huts being cared for by Teela Na who washed his face with a cold cloth. "Due to his injury he could remember nothing, not even his own name." She watched over him rather intrigued by the stranger, and yet she couldn't help but feel something else as well. "While the villagers went about their daily chores, I nursed him back to health, never had I felt so…human so needed."
Some days later the two were found on a large tree branch looking over a beautiful stream of water. The flowers on the tree above them were in bloom as they sat and watched the petals fall. Teela Na turned to see the wounded soldier offering her a beautiful pink rose and she felt a warm feeling by this offering.
"Affection and caring turned to love." Touched by his affections she hugged him lovingly as the flower fell into the water below, and as the ripples settled its reflection revealed the two of them in a passionate kiss, for the first time the Sorceress of Grayskull was experiencing what it was like, to fall in love. "And then…."
Her story ended as they faded back to reality. To say Man At Arms was surprised by this was an understatement, for all the time he had known the Sorceress she had never once told him of her past let alone having loving feelings for someone.
"You've never spoken of…" "My husband" The Sorceress interrupted him. "It is ironic to reflect upon, he unable to remember his past and I trying to forget my own." She said before she looked down. "If it were only that easy."
Yan Lin was taken aback from her hiding place hearing this story, and in her thoughts she remembered how the Guardians noticed the similarities between a certain Captain of the Guard and the Sorceress herself. Could this be…no it couldn't could it.
"This very day the past reaches out, seeking to ensnare one that I love." The Sorceress explained.
"I… don't..understand?" Man At Arms questioned.
"It is in that same village known as Pelleezeea, that Teela can be found." The Sorceress then said which immediately got Man At Arms and Yan Lins attention.
"Teela? Is she in danger?" He asked out of concern for his adoptive daughter.
"The greatest danger is she may discover that which she must not know." The Sorceress simply said as she walked past him and disappeared into the shadows. Duncan realised what it was she spoke of, the one thing she swore him to never tell Teela even after she was injured in a battle. Her true heritage.
So without another word he headed down the castle halls to get back to his Wind Raider and just then. "Ah hey Man At Arms." He saw Orko and Taranee coming down the hallway with Yan Lin.
"What are you three doing here?" He asked.
"Oh I came to see how Taranee was doing." Yan Lin explained.
"Yeah but Duncan sir what are you doing here?" Taranee asked.
"I'm afraid the Sorceress has sensed there is something happening in a village called Pelleezeea."Man At Arms explained.
"Is something wrong?" Orko asked.
"I'm not sure yet, we need to get back to Eternos and pick up Adam and the other Guardians I suspect we may need all the help we can get." Man At Arms said as he placed his helmet back on his head.
The three nodded in agreement and quickly headed out of the Castle to the Wind Raider. The craft took to the skies as it blasted off back to Eternos, as the Sorceress looked out from the left eye of the castle. Though she had faith in Man At Arms and his comrades she could only hope they'd be able to reach Teela in time.
Pelleezeea:
Back in the village Teela, continued to explore her surroundings, she was at the large tree over the lake but it looked very dead. She jumped over the broken tree branch bridge. She wasn't sure why but she felt this all seemed very, familiar somehow though she hadn't been here before she remembered someone walking around here long ago. She looked at her reflection in the water which then suddenly changed to the reflection of someone who looked exactly like her as she jumped in shock. She looked back and saw it was her normal reflection again.
"Whoa." She shuddered in surprise. "I guess I took a nastier spill than I thought." She felt her head as she walked away just to hear the flapping wings and the cawing of a falcon in the air.
"Oh…Okay, I'm out of here." She decided it was time to take her leave of this place.
She returned to the village to the Palleezeeans looking at her as she headed towards her sky sled. Some of them had looks telling her not to leave but it did not stop her. She mounted her Sky Sled ready to leave, but when she tried to start it the engine just sputtered and groaned like something was gaze turned to the tent of the Village Elder who she could see moved to hide from her sight. This told Teela instantly something was wrong.
Eternos:
Back at the Royal Palace, Caleb had gathered, Adam, Will, Cornelia, Irma,Blunk, Cringer and Hay Lin in one of the stables on the castle grounds. The horses there neighed.
"So Caleb what's up?" Will asked.
"Yeah and what's with the abrupt summons do you know how close I was to the royal spa!" Cornelia complained.
"Hey sorry to spoil your fun but Man At Arms says something maybe up and asked me to gather you all." Caleb said.
"Uh oh t..trouble?" Blunk asked.
"Why is something wrong?" Adam asked.
"Yes there is." Everyone turned to see Duncan, Yan Lin, Orko and Taranee standing in the stable doorway. "The Sorceress senses there's trouble in a village known as Pelleezeea. So some certain friends of ours are needed."
"Pelleezeea? Never heard of it?" Adam said confused.
"Its a village just eastward of a mountain pass." Man At Arms explained.
"Wait, is that where Teela went?" Hay Lin asked getting everyones attention especially Duncans.
"What do you mean?" Caleb asked.
"After we stopped Skeletor from attacking the Councils convoy, Teela was..acting weird and headed off east." Will explained. "But she still hasn't come back yet."
"So that must mean she's there." Taranee realised. "But why would she be there of all places?"
"Unclear but if she is she may need our help." Man At Arms said. "I have a bad feeling there maybe more going on in that village than meets the eye."
"Like maybe signs of trouble." Caleb said. "I recently heard from Startos that there's something moving to the west."
"And I've got a bad feeling telling me that something could be Skeletor." Adam realised.
"Then let's move!" Will urgently said and so she drew the Heart of Kandrakar as Adam drew his sword but before they could say the magic words.
"Wait!" Yan Lin cried making them stop. "Given the situation I believe you better go in fully prepared, we do not know what dangers you may have to face." She suggested and Duncan nodded in agreement knowing what she meant by that.
Will and Adam nodded in agreement too, so he held up his sword as Will allowed the crystal to float into the hilt locking itself into it. The prince held aloft the sword and said.
"GUARDIANS OF THE UNIVERSE UNITE!"
The sword hilt unlocked and the Power from Grayskull and the Heart of Kandrakar surged into it and the six were enveloped into a column of magic. Then one awesomely magical transformation later they were transformed into He-Man and the Guardians of the Veil in their enhanced forms.
"WE HAVE THE POWER!" They all exclaimed. He-Man then directed the sword to Cringer and with one blast transformed him into Battle Cat. However something was different his armoured claws now had glowing blades on his claws and his tail had energy blades on the end. His armour had traces of red with remnants of the metal in the Heart of Kandrakar in it as Cat gave a great roar as he was fully transformed in his own enhanced form.
So the group with Man At Arms in tow boarded the Wind Raider while the girls took to the sky with their wings and flew off towards the village.
Pellezzeea:
In the confined silence of his tent the Village Elder was grinding up wheat into powdered flour for the village people. Just then Teela pulled back the curtain in the tent looked around at what the Elder was doing and then entered it. The Elder it seems had a look of guilt on his face.
"I was just mixing some…" The Elder tried to explain but Teela found a covered object and when she pulled back the fabric she saw what was covered up in surprise.
It was a motor, but not just any motor it was the motor that belonged to her Sky Sled. This explained why she couldn't get it to work. She picked it up as the Elder looked worried.
"You stole this from my vehicle!" She realised before she turned to the Elder demanding an explanation. "Why?"
"Uh..so you would stay, to protect us from evil as in the past." The Elder admitted as Teela knelt down and placed an understanding hand on his shoulder.
"Well there's no evil here that I can see." Teela said looking to her Sky Sleds engine. "Unless you count theft of vehicle parts." The Elder looked a little ashamed. All of a sudden the sound of laser blasts and explosions echoed in the air startling them. Teela stood up again only to bump her head on the roof. Sounded like evil had arrived in the village.
The elder reached for the staff and offered it to Teela to use. "Thanks but I've got my own." Teela declined drawing her own staff and hurried out into battle.
The village was being bombarded by laser fire and the villagers were fleeing for their lives. High above the attacker was revealed to be none other than Skeletor aboard a Terrordactyl. "MUHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!" He cackled before firing another blast from his Havoc staff only spinning object from below to strike the left wing of his vehicle.
He looked and saw Teela standing atop one of the large stones as her staff returned to her facing him down. "If its a battle you want Skeletor!"
"Oh I wouldn't waste my talents on the likes of you!" Skeletor smirked. "But they will." He gestured his staff to what looked like a giant cart behind his vehicle that looked like a ribcage from a large animal melded with technology. From the hatches below large globs of green goop were fired down much to Teelas shock as they struck the ground with great force.
The blobs slowly rose to reveal their true form. They were Skeletors new and improved Skeleton Warriors. Three large juggernaughts bones clad in black and surrounded by a strange green substance. They surrounded the Captain of the Guard who held her weapon tight and stood her ground. The tension was thick as they glared each other down in a Mexican Stand Off. One warrior raised his hand as Teela charged into battle firing the substance from his hand hitting her in the gut and entrapping her on the wall of the hut.
"HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!" Skeletor cackled before he looked back to see a certain minion of his. "Stinkor I leave you to enjoy your retribution!"
"My pleasure boss!" Stinkor leaped from the Terrordactyl and hit the ground joining the Skeleton Warriors. Skeletor aboard the Terrordactyl left the village to his minions to terrorise more villages with his new soldiers.
"Crush her!" Stinkor commanded.
The Skeleton warriors approached the restrained Teela circling her like predators cornering their prey. Teela struggled to try and free herself from the goop trapping her, the Skeleton Warrior fired another shot from his hand, but Teela freed herself just in time and leap out of the way, she span and landed a staff strike on the creatures shoulders. However her staff had become stuck in the goop like stubstance but she managed to pull it free tearing off the middle section of her uniform in the process.
Only to be face to face with another of the warriors who attack with a goop blast, which Teela skilfully avoided by lunging out of the way and the blast just destroyed some pottery. The broken shards had been stuck in the goop creating a mace that the monster swung in his hand. Teela jumped away quickly before the monster slammed his mace into the ground causing a huge blast. The other monsters threw more and more goop blasts at Teela who leaped and dodged every one of them. One however landed a shot that trapped the end of Teela's pony tail to the roof of one of the huts trapping her.
Meanwhile Stinkor was demolishing the village with his stink blasts causing the villagers to run and hide. The elder was fleeing for his life until a blast propelled him back and when he looked up he found himself before Stinkor. "Heheheh hello Elder it's been a while hasn't it!"
"Who are you and why do you attack our village?!" The Elder asked.
"Oh, don't you recognise dear young Odiphus!" Stinkor exclaimed and the Elder looked in horror as now he did recognise the young one who he exiled years ago. "I vowed I would return, and today Stinkors vengence is NIGH!"
Back at the main battle, taking its advantage another monster readied his mace, Teela struggled to free her hair from the goop, her gaze however turned to see the Skeleton Warrior fire his mace towards the helpless Captain of the Guard. But suddenly.
*SLICE!* A spinning blade sliced straight through Teelas hair she fell back just seconds before the glob mace hit blasting its remnants all over the place as Teela hit the ground. The spinning object hit a nearby tree, and it was revealed to be a sword. This wasn't just any sword however, this was the Sword of Power. The Skeleton Warriors move in to look only for a deafening roar to take them by surprise as Battle Cat leaped in slashing his claws at the monsters making them back off.
Suddenly a powerful blast of water made the three monsters stumble to the ground. Teela got up groaning only to be met by a helping hand she looked and saw Will standing above her. "Mind if we help even the odds?"
Teela smiled as she accepted Wills hand. "Your timings perfect!"
He-Man dismounted Battle Cat and reclaim his sword from the tree standing at the ready. They were soon joined by the other Guardians who were ready to fight.
It was then the champion noticed what happened to Teelas hair. "Whoa sorry about.." "Forget it I needed a trim anyway." Teela said undoing her pony tail and letting her hair fall.
The frightened villagers in the tree looked in awe seeing how Teela now looked more and more like the stranger who saved them long ago. There was hope after all.
"Wow you actually look great with your hair down." Cornelia noticed. "Not as good as me though but still."
"Oooh you should totally let me style it!" Hay Lin beamed.
"Touch the hair and your dead!" Teela gave a very intimidating warning. "Besides we have work to do."
"So who are your goopy new friends?" Irma asked.
"They look like the Skeleton warriors that Tri-Klops used to attack Eternos sometime back minus the replicating this time." Teela explained.
"But what are they covered in?" Taranee asked.
"Not sure." Teela said. "But Stinkors here with them.
"Okay, we gotta stop these things from harming the village." He-Man said as Battle Cat growled.
"Then lets split it up, Taranee, Hay Lin you help the villagers get to safety the rest of us will deal with these guys!" Will said to her fellow Guardians who nodded in agreement. So Taranee and Hay Lin flew off to aid the villagers, leaving He-Man and the others to fight the Skeleton warriors. Battle Cat roared out only for him to be blinded by a blast of the goop. The giant cat leaped out at the Skeleton warrior energising his new claws slashing at them unleashing energy slashes that sliced one warrior clean in half splattering on the ground as Battle Cat landed on the other side.
The other Skeleton Warriors charged at their opponents, Cornelia slammed her hands into the ground and lava blasted out onto her arms and turned cold turning them into rock gauntlets. Charging forwards she landed a solid punch right in the jaw of one of the Skeleton Warriors sending it flying. Teela and He-Man then charged into battle with Will forming her energy blade while Irma fired water blasts from her hands at the Skeleton Warriors.
He-Man lunged in first and slashed one of the Skeleton warriors in half followed by Teela kicking the top half off with a spin kick. Cornelia slammed her stone gauntlets into the ground causing an earthquake sending another Skeleton Warrior into the air. Irma followed this with a concentrated water blast with her enhanced powers sending it crashing into one of the huts. All that was left of them was a pile of goo and bones.
"Heh that was easy." Irma smirked, but her quip was short lived for then the bones of the warriors reassembled themselves again much to their shock.
"You were saying?!" Cornelia glared at her.
Meanwhile the Elder was at the mercy of Stinkor who's stinking fumes all but consumed the air. "Now Elder time you paid at the hands of Stinkor!" He yelled but all of a sudden. A blast of air struck Stinkor with great might sending him crashing into one of the huts. The Elder looked up to his saviours to be the Fire and Air Guardians.
Hay Lin flew down to the Elder to check on him. "You okay sir?" She asked.
"I…I am fine child thank you." The Elder thanked.
"You better get to cover, we'll take care of your stinky intruder." Taranee told him readying a fire ball. With that the Elder took his leave of the battle.
An infuriated Stinkor recovered with his fumes pumping out viciously as he glared at those who interfered with his vengeance. "Grrr you'll regret interfering with my revenge!"
"Hey what can we say we're meddlers." Taranee shrugged before she unleashed some fire balls on Stinkor who quickly dived out of the way to avoid her blasts.
"Gah thats not gonna work twice missy!" Stinkor fired his stink blasts at her only for Hay Lin to stand in the way and form a large gust of air which she then turned into air disks blasting them forward and sliced the enemy's stink blast to pieces. Stinkor grew irritated and fired another blast which the girls flew away skilfully to avoid.
Taranee focused her enhanced powers she formed her fire whip and lashed it at Stinkor who ducked out of the way of the flames and fired a stink blast at her. Taranee skilfully slashed her fire whip at the stink blast and it exploded upon contact. The shockwave blasted her back and sent her crashing to the ground.
"Taranee!" Hay Lin cried. Stinkor snickers as he approaches the downed Guardian readying another stink blast. However just as he fired it the blast suddenly surged upwards and was circling into a ball of air. In shock he looked to see the culprit was Hay Lin manipulating the air around the stink blast. Her training with Sy-Klone was paying off.
"See how you like a douse of your own medicine!" She cried blasting it right at Stinkor blasting him to the ground.
Taranee soon recovered, but as she did her gaze turned to the fight with the Skeleton Warriors. Teela was facing one down as it fired a blast of its goop at her .However she leaped out of the way and it crushed a nearby furnace instead and its hand was in a blaze. This caught the Fire Guardians attention, as it did He-Mans. For when the beast reeled its hand again the flames were having an affect on it, for when it smashed the ground it shattered like glass.
Taranee was shocked and flew over to the remnants, she picked a piece up and looked at it. She felt the texture and realised it felt familiar and realised why, He-Man looked and saw it too when suddenly they saw the creature reform the coating on its arm, then turned its attention onto them.
He-Man moved quickly, swinging his sword up as it charged with magical energy then struck the ground hard sending fourth a shockwave that catapulted the warrior into the air. Suddenly a blast of water sent it crashing back to the ground compliments of Irma. However her joy was short lived as the Skeleton warrior reformed itself.
Cornelia summoned the vines from beneath her and fired them at the incoming Skeleton Warrior entangling its arms and legs. She then focused and summoned a massive chunk of lava and shaped it into a spiked cannon ball and flung it straight at the monster shattering it into pieces.
The third Skeleton Warrior unleashed two blasts of goop towards Will and Teela who dodged out of the way. Will formed her energy blade and charged at the Warrior landing a huge gash in the middle of its chest then with a flying kick she knocked it back. Leaving it open for Teela to attack firing an energy blast from her staff forcing it back followed by a still blind Battle Cat leaping in and landing an energy slash on the Skeleton warrior slicing its arms clean off before he roared and thwacked it with his tail sending it crashing to the ground.
Will landed next to the loyal companion and proceeded to pull the gunk off his eyes restoring his sight. "Nice work Cat." Will said.
However their victory was still not won as in seconds the warriors they brought down simply reassembled themselves and gave a great roar. Everyone regrouped around each other.
"Every time we take these things down they just reassemble themselves!" Irma exclaimed firing another huge blast of water at them slamming them into a hut. However they just got right back up again like their attack did nothing.
"We've got to keep trying, these things are a danger to not just this village but all of Eternia!" He-Man exclaimed.
"Hes right we gotta take them down now!" Teela agreed.
Just then before the Skeleton Warriors attacked a sudden laser barrage from above cut off their path. Everyone looked up to see Man At Arms on a sky sled firing its laser cannon from above and the laser sliced one Warriors head in half only for it to reassemble. He-Man then slashed at another warrior with his sword slicing it half only for its top half to join back up again much to the champions shock. The warrior grabbed him by the head and he struggled to get free.
"He-Man!" Will exclaimed. "Okay girls give it all you've got!"
Irma formed massive blobs of water and blasted the Skeleton Warriors with every amount of power she had. Cornelia followed by forming her earth gauntlets and firing large shards of rock into another of the warriors goop skin. Only for the goop to regenerate itself.
Stinkor was blasted away by a large gust of air caused by Hay Lin he tried forcing his way back against the hurricane force. Suddenly he growled in pain as he looked to his leg and saw a fire whip was wrapped around his right ankle. He looked and saw Taranee giving a great yank tripping him up leaving him open to an air fisted uppercut compliments of Hay Lin. Taranee then swung the Evil Warrior upwards and slammed him into a fruit cart, the impact knocked him unconscious.
Will landed a devastating slash across the chest of one of the Skeleton Warriors with her energy blade then met by a devastating combo punch from He-Man and Cornelia's stone gauntlets blasting it across the floor, but it still recovered and joined its brethren. Man At Arms swooped in and fired several laser blasts from his Sky Sled and his energy cannon on the monsters. The laser blasts however were absorbed by the substance that covered the warriors bones.
One Skeleton Warrior fired a goop blast from its arm and it struck the Sky Sleds rear thruster causing Man At Arms to spin out of control.
"Everyone hit'em hard!" Will exclaimed. He-Man and Cornelia both slammed the ground with the sword and her powers over Earth causing the ground to shatter open into a dark pit. Cornelia then manipulated the roots below ground grabbing the Warriors wrists.
Irma then swooped in and unleashed a blast of water followed by Taranee and a blast of fire hitting the three warriors into the crack below. Irma quickly filled the pit with water.
"Now Hay Lin!" He-Man exclaimed and the Air Guardian took a deep breath and blew a strong cold blast of air which instantly froze the water and the warriors inside.
They all stood victorious next to He-Man. "Ha lets see ya get out of that bone boys!" Irma cheered.
"He-Man, girls! My father!" Teela cried pointing to Man At Arms still spiralling out of control on his sky sled. He was about to crash.
"I'm on it!" Hay Lin zoomed into the sky and waved her arms creating massive air currents directed to the Sky Sled. The currents slowly guided the Sky Sled back towards the ground, and He-Man leaped in and grabbed the sled with his bare hands saving Man At Arms in the process. He lowered the sled to the ground and they were joined by the Guardians and Teela.
"Father are you okay?" Teela asked.
"Yes Teela I'm fine thanks to He-Man." Man At Arms assured.
"Thank Hay Lin it was her quick thinking and use of the air currents that saved you." He-Man said.
"Yes thank you Hay Lin." Man At Arms acknowledged with a smile.
"Just doing my job Man at Arms." Hay Lin said happily.
"Looks like Stinkor and his sticky friends couldn't stick around huh?" Irma smirked suddenly they heard a rumble in the ground.
"I don't think we're out of this yet." Teela said with dread.
She was right, *SMASH* The ice was shattered by the boney fist of one of the Skeleton Warriors which emerged from the icy pit along with the other two.
"Seriously!" Cornelia exclaimed. "These things are totally indestructible!"
"Don't be so sure." Taranee said before she showed everyone the solidified chunk in her hand.
"Uh what is that?" Will asked.
"Its a piece of that substance surrounding those things, but solidified." Taranee said as she handed it to He-Man who proceeded to crush it in his bare hand and letting go of the dust that landed in the Fire Guardians hand.
"Ha I was right!" Taranee realised.
"Am I missing something?" Teela asked.
"Yeah brainiac care to clue us in?" Cornelia asked.
"Guys the stuff surrounding these things isn't slime, its clay!" Taranee explained.
"Clay? You mean that stuff they use for pottery?" Will asked.
"Oh I used some of that in art class when I made a vase." Hay Lin pointed out.
"Exactly, its how these things can protect and reassemble themselves." Taranee explained. "When soft clay can be used to make any shapes like vases or even bricks."
"Right." He-Man caught onto where Taranee was going with this. "Clay is a soft material but when fired in a furnace it becomes hard."
"And brittle." Man At Arms noted. "And thats something we can use to our advantage."
"So your saying…" Teela was beginning to catch on as a plan began forming in Wills mind.
"We bake'em then break'em!" Will smirked. "So lets get them away from the village then we'll give these guys a sun burn they'll never forget."
A light bulb suddenly went off in Cornelia's head. "Hey, clay is basically minerals dug up in the ground." She looked to the Skeleton Warriors approaching them. "What if I… I have an idea."
To everyones surprise Cornelia stepped forwards and extended her arm to the warriors who started running towards her. However she wasn't phased by this she just concentrated, remembering what was taught to her by Moss Man.
"You believe that your powers are limited by the simple trees and plants you see, but nature is so much more than that." The warriors were getting ever closer, Teela was about to leap in and help but He-Man stopped her asking her to have faith in the Earth Guardian.
""But what we must understand is that our power literally comes from the nature all around us…." Cornelia focused all of her power at the warriors who were pulling their fists back ready to strike.
"In a way both our worlds are like one big garden one that must be protected from those who would spoil it." Cornelia opened her eyes and when she did.
The warriors stopped dead in their tracks. Surprising everyone around her, and the surprises weren't over yet. For then with a wave of her hand Cornelia made them turn to the right almost like they were puppets in her hand.
"How in?" Teela breathed in amazement.
"Clay is a mineral dug up in the Earth Teela." Taranee explained. "Meaning thats something Cornelia can manipulate."
He-Man smiled he could see Cornelia was taking on Moss Mans words and his guidance. "About face!" Cornelia ordered and the Skeleton warriors lined up and faced away from her. "Forward march!"
The warriors started walking away as Cornelia took to the air and directed them away from the village and lead them into the hills. He-Man and Teela mounted Battle Cat while Man At Arms removed the clay from his Sky Sleds engine and blasted off into the sky after her followed by the other Guardians.
With their speed they easily overtook the Skeleton Warriors still under the Earth Guardians influence. Battle Cat finally came to a stop in a clearing far from the village. He-Man looked to Cornelia and nodded telling her it was time. So she flew away and joined her fellow Guardians releasing the Skeleton Warriors from her influence. They suddenly saw their enemies in front of them and moved to attack.
"NOW!" Will exclaimed and so Taranee swooped into the frame. The Fire Guardian's eyes lit up with fire reflected on her glasses and unleashed a huge blaze of fire from her hands surrounding them in a circle of fire blazing bright in purplish pink flames heat equivalent to that of a furnace.
Man At Arms landed on his Sky Sled while Teela and He-Man dismounted Battle Cat running to the blaze before them as the Guardians hovered above them, ready for anything with their respective powers and weapons at hand.
The fires died down and revealed the clay around the bones of the warriors had now become white and brittle, just as they predicted they would. They were still growling in hostility and charged at them.
"POUR IT ON!" Will and He-Man yelled and so Teela ran forwards then launched by a large gust of air thanks to Hay Lin and delivered a powerful strike to one of the warriors. This was followed by He-Man landing an energised sword slash and Cornelia's earth gauntlets landing a powerful blow to the second warrior. Irma slammed the ground below her creating a geyser of water blasting up from the ground catapulting the third warrior into the air.
"Hit it!" Irma exclaimed to Taranee, Man At Arms and Will. Taranee fired a massive blast of fire into the air, followed by Will firing her energy blade from her gauntlet, and Man At Arms forming his energy cannon on his left arm and fired an enemy blast. The combined force of all of these completely incinerated the Skeleton Warrior.
The other two were crumbling to pieces from the attacks they received from He-Man, Teela, Hay Lin, and Cornelia. Battle Cat roared as he energised his claws, leaped into the air and unleashed a massive energy slashed which destroyed them completely. He roared in triumph as the remnants of the Skeleton Warriors lay on the ground burning.
"Ashes to ashes dust to dust." Taranee said. It was then that Man At Arms noticed something different about his adoptive daughter.
"Are..you doing something different with your hair Teela?" He asked while Teela just smirked back at her father.
Meanwhile in the village Stinkor had regained consciousness, and saw the fire from a distance, it looked like Skeletors new weapons had been defeated. So he decided to make himself scarce. He quickly ran away but suddenly a tree root rose up and tripped him up causing him to fall to the ground only to be ensnared by some roots in seconds.
"And where do you think your going stink breath?" Stinkor looked up and saw the Guardians hovering above while He-Man, Battle Cat, Man At Arms and Teela looked down on him.
"Gawwww!" Stinkor whined.
"So what should we do with him?" Teela asked everyone.
"I know just what to do with him Teela." Will smirked.
Elsewhere:
In the skies above Eternia, Skeletor was still flying his Terrordactyl still carrying the cargo of his new Skeleton Warriors. "HAHAHEHHAHAHAHAH!" He cackled. "By now Pellezzeea should be in ruins and that wretched Teela will be in chains with the villagers! That'll set an example of working against the Mighty Skeletor!" He boasted.
"Wow full of yourself lately." He heard a voice nearby causing him to stop his vehicle, and he saw ahead of him was the Guardians of the Veil in their enhanced forms. He then noticed that his minion Stinkor was encased in a sphere of air which was also mixed with his nauseous fumes.
"Heres you thug back Skeletor!" Hay Lin blasted Stinkor right at Skeletor's Terrordactyl and onto the carriage behind him.
"Oh and word to the wise maybe not use clay it brittles way too easily." Taranee smirked.
"Teela sends her regards and by the way, you best be scurrying on back to your little hiddy hole!" Irma then said.
"Hah! You think you can threaten me!" Skeletor exclaimed. "I'm the master of HAVOC!" He aimed his Havoc Staff at the girls.
"Ah you try to be reasonable." Will shook her head unsurprised before she nodded to Taranee who with a snap of her fingers ignited a flame on her finger in a gun like way.
Skeletor was beginning to get weary, just what did the Guardians think they'd try to accomplish by doing this. However when he looked to Stinkor on the rear inside the sphere of air containing his fumes it was completely green he then realised what they were going to do.
"Oh nooo!" Skeletor said now sounding very afraid. Taranee took aim right at the sphere of fumes. "Not. That!" And then.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
*BANG!* A massive mushroom cloud of nauseous fumes penetrated the clouds before it dissipated in exploding flames.
The Terrordactyl was in pieces on the ground along with the cargo, the clay warriors were now solidified and completely destroyed. Skeletor and Stinkor it seemed had been blasted away in the combustion explosion.
"Peeyeww! That did it!" Will groaned still smelling the stink.
"Wow didn't think it be that big!" Hay Lin said holding her nose.
"Well given we surrounded him in air that mixed with Stinkors own fumes, and a little fire equals some stinky combustion!" Taranee agreed.
"Thats some stink bomb!" Irma said holding her nose.
"Great now can we please get out of here before the fumes mess up my mascara!" Cornelia whined. So they all flew away back to the mountain pass.
Pellezzeea:
Upon their return to Pellezzeea, the Guardians aided He-Man, Teela and Man At Arms in rebuilding the village to repair the damage caused by the battle. Cornelia used her powers to revive the trees and plants, while Hay Lin and Will helped some of the villagers in building up their huts again. Irma surplied fresh water to the villagers to help tend to their wounds while Taranee helps Man At Arms to rebuild their bonfires and furnaces supplying the heat they need.
Soon the whole village was alive with celebration, as they celebrated the heroes who saved them all, especially Teela. Teela was rather humbled by all of this and then the Elder offered her his staff.
"Once again, you have saved us." The Elder thanked. "You and your allies, we are forever in your debt."
"And I am honoured as are my friends." Teela said then the Elder offered her his staff again.
"Take this as a token of our gratitude, and a reminder of what you have done for us and our way of life." The Elder said.
Teela wasn't sure what to say, but knew it would be rude to refuse a token of gratitude from those she saved. So she accepted the staff with a smile. The villagers cheered in praise for their hero.
"Wait again?" Taranee wondered realising what the Elder had just said.
"Ah they, think I'm someone else." Teela admitted.
"Well whoever that someone is your just as much the hero, you protected these people and their village Teela." He-Man smiled.
"Yeah your the hero of the day girl!" Will smiled as did the other girls.
"I'll say and maybe you should keep your hair down it kinda suits you." Cornelia noted. "And your talking to a master of letting their hair down." She said waving her hair around.
"Nah not really my style blondie." Teela smirked much to the other Guardians laughing. However while everyone enjoyed the celebrations, Man At Arms was nowhere to be seen.
He found himself looking at the wall of remembrance. he recognised it from the vision granted by the Sorceress, he wasn't sure why but he felt something, almost like he'd seen this before the Sorceress's visions. Looking at her in the portrait, but he couldn't really place it.
"You…have questions." He heard the Sorceress's voice echo in his mind before he saw the astral projection of the Sorceress before him.
"You never told me what became of your husband. The wounded soldier." Man At Arms explained.
Castle Grayskull: Crystal Chamber:
"A villager saw him depart one morning before the sun." The Sorceress said from the Crystal Chamber.
Pellezzeea:
"Perhaps his memory suddenly returned and he rejoined his comrades in battle…" The Sorceress explained.
Years ago:
Teela Na was standing at the entrance to the village looking out into the wilds. She was waiting for her beloved to return. "Many weeks passed, and I waited hoping for his return. But then I could wait no more."
She suddenly transformed herself into her falcon form and took her leave of the village and that mountain pass. She soon returned to Castle Grayskull.
"I could feel the forces of evil gathering, gaining in power. Elders beckoning me to return here to Grayskull." Zor entered the castle gates and flew into the throne room where the falcon transformed into the Sorceress returned to her normal form and attire, she sat upon the Egyptian styled throne.
"But the soldier." The Sorceress found herself feeling her abdomen, as she could sense a living presence within her. "He had left me a gift."
Present Day:
"A child." Man At Arms realised.
"Yes." The Sorceress answered. "Your child. Teela."
"My adopted child." Man At Arms corrected as he turned to face away from the mural, though in his heart he couldn't help but feel.. feel like something was missing from this village.
Eternos:
Dusk had fallen over the kingdom of Eternos and at the main entrance to the royal palace everyone from the Masters of the Universe to the King and Queen were bidding their farewells to Prince Adam, the Guardians (in their mortal forms) and their allies.
"Well I guess this is goodbye for now." Will said humbly.
"Indeed, you will all be missed, my kingdom and all of Eternia owe you all a great debt." King Randor said. "Are you sure we cannot convince you to stay on for a few days."
"Ah we would like to your majesty but we must get back to Earth, wouldn't want the girls parents to be worried." Yan Lin declined. "Plus they and your son have school tomorrow."
"Yeah dad and didn't you once say we must honour our royal and personal obligations." Adam then said.
"Plus Meridian isn't gonna free itself." Cornelia added.
Queen Marlena giggled at that. "Hehehe they're not wrong Randor."
"Heh ha of course I understand." Randor chuckled. He then looked to them all. "On behalf of Eternia I thank you all, not just for your help in defending Grayskull and our people against Skeletor, but reminding us of our own inner strength in this ongoing fight." He then looked to Caleb. "I do remember Meridian being a peaceful land with just rulers, and I hope someday your efforts will make it so again." Caleb nodded at that. "To that end you can consider Eternia an ally in your fight against Phobos, should you ever need aid the Masters will heed the call."
The rebel leader was taken completely aback, they had hoped to find answers about the true heir to the throne but instead they won allies in the fight to free Meridian. "I..th..thank you your majesty the Rebellion would be honoured to consider Eternia an ally." He spoke. So he shook hands with the king proclaiming their new alliance.
Duncan then stepped forward with a crate full of advanced weaponry and even some maces identical to his own. "Take these I hope they will aid your men well." He said as he handed the crate to Caleb which he accepted.
"Thank you we'll defiantly put these to good use." Caleb thanked.
"Hey kid." Cornelia looked to Moss Man approaching her with a potted plant in his hand, it looked like an orchid in pure white. "Thought you should have this as a souvenir." He said offering it to her.
"Oh wow…i..its beautiful." Cornelia said amazed and the other girls gathered around to see the flower.
"Wow!" Hay Lin breathed.
"What kind of plant is that?" Taranee asked.
"It is the Eternian Orchid, its a rare plant on Eternia, and its said to bring good luck to those who own it." Moss Man explained. "You said you had a friend back home right?"
"Ah yes I did oh Elyons gonna love this." Cornelia said.
"Think of it as a gift and a reminder of what you've managed to achieve kid." Moss Man smiled.
Stratos and Buzz Off were then bidding their farewells to Irma. "Hey you girls take care of yourselves." BuzzOff said.
"You got it fly boys, and hey watch yourselves with Skeletor huh." Irma smirked.
"We shall, and we shall look forward to your return." Stratos said bowing in respect.
Sy-Klone was bidding his farewells to Hay Lin and Yan Lin. "I bid you both farewell and I hope my teachings have helped you to understand your abilities more."
"Oh they have Sy-Klone, thank you and I hope we see you all again soon." Hay Lin said happily.
"As do I, and I hope I can show you both my home land of Anwat Gar. I have a feeling it may prove spiritually enlightening." Sy-Klone said.
"Indeed and we shall look forward to it." Yan Lin said as the two bowed in respect to this Master who bowed back in return.
Taranee was with Roboto, and Man-E-Faces and Mekkaneck as they said their goodbyes. "Thanks for the awesome chess games guys." Taranee said.
"It was our pleasure Taranee." Roboto said. "You were indeed a very worthy opponent."
"I'll say your gonna have to teach me some moves someday." Man-E-Faces said before he changed to his robot face. "It would be a logical move to improve my own chess skills." He changed to his monster face. "So I can cream Roboto in the next match!"
"Heheh its a deal Many." Taranee chuckled finding his three faces very amusing. "And hey can't wait for your next play."
"Hey you girls take care, sounds like this Phobos guy is gonna be a handful for you all." MekkaNeck said.
"Thanks Mek, but with what we know now, he's gonna be in for a whole world of pain." Taranee said. "But its our own natural talents that'll help us in the end."
"Absolutely, on that I can't possibly disagree." Mekkaneck smiled.
While everyone was bidding their farewells Adam was speaking with his parents, Teela and Man At Arms. "Have a safe journey son." Randor said to him.
"I will dad, and I'll be sure to visit again when I can." Adam said.
"We understand, and son I want you to know you have made me and your mother proud by your efforts not just here on Eternia but your efforts in aiding the Guardians." Randor spoke proudly. "And in understanding your Earthling heritage.
"Thats all I've ever hoped you would say." Adam smiled. "And thanks for telling me about how you and mom met. I now know the Earth is important to me more than I ever knew."
"And we're so glad we told you." Marlena said with tears in her eyes. "Who knows maybe one day we may visit the Earth and see what has changed since I was there." She smiled.
"We'll look forward to it." Adam smiled.
"Yeah the food is fantastic and they have these things called TV's that you can see talking pictures through!" Orko said rather excitedly Cringer just shook his head.
"Take care Adam and travel safely." Man At Arms said to him.
"I will Duncan." Adam smiled before his gaze turned to Teela. "So..sad I'm leaving so soon?"
"N..nope not really." Teela said trying not to look soft. But she did crack a smile. "But I guess it was great having you back and it was kinda good, seeing what your time on Earth has done for you. You seemed tougher." She admitted.
The Prince then developed a teasing smile "Aww Teela if I didn't know you any better I'd say you've really missed me and sad to see me go?"
That was replied with Teela grabbing his right arm and putting him in an arm lock with a smug smirk on her face. Duncan just shook his head smiling while Randor and Marlena chuckled at their sons poorly said words landing in his misfortune.
"Gah okay okay heh I know you better." Adam chuckled while in some pain. Teela chuckled before she released her friend from her arm lock.
Then Teela had a surprisingly warm look on her face looking upon her best friend. "Glad to hear it, and uh it was good seeing you Adam, and it was kinda good to see what your time on Earth and Meridian have done for you, its made you. Tougher." She complimented.
"Well you should know I learned from the best." Adam smiled. "And I passed it onto the girls." He gestured to the Guardians who were bidding their farewell to the other Masters of the Universe. "But I guess in a way I'm learning from them as they are from me, they've taught me a lot about Earth, and I guess they understand me a lot."
Teela had to agree with that with all she'd seen over these past two days these girls truly were more than meets the eye, to be able to stand up to Skeletor, and even brave the perils of Snake Mountain to rescue their leader.
"Yeah." Teela smiled and her gaze soon locked on a certain red headed leader of the Guardians, and then looked to Adam who looked at her. "One of them it seems more than most."
This made Adam confused but he noticed the Captains gaze was looking at Will, but he looked back rather puzzled. "What do you mean by that?" He then asked.
"Sorry your highness." Teela said teasingly. "Thats something your gonna have to figure out for yourself." She smiled. Though confused Adam just shrugged to Cringer who shrugged back.
"Come on its time to go!" Yan Lin called and so everyone got ready to go.
"GUARDIANS UNITE!" and with one flash of the crystal Will and the girls assumed their Guardian forms while Adam, Yan Lin and Cringer mounted their Sky Sled while Caleb and Blunk mounted one of their own and began to ascend into the girls and Orko soon followed They all looked down on the Eternians below.
"Farewell my friends!" Man At Arms called.
"Good luck, and have a safe journey." Marlena called out to them.
"May the Elders protect you for all eternity." Randor called out.
With that Adam, the girls, Orko, Caleb, Blunk and Cringer gave one final wave farewell and flew away from the Royal Palace and journeyed to Grayskull. Randor looked to his son full of pride as he and his wife looked out knowing he now knew of his true heritage and how it has made him the better for it.
Earth:Heatherfield:
In the same alley way where our heroes first ventured to Eternia, all was quiet but suddenly a white portal opened and out of it came Adam, Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, Hay Lin, Cringer, Blunk, Orko, Yan Lin and Caleb and then the portal sealed shut behind them. They were still disoriented from the jump but when they looked to their surroundings they saw a familiar site as they looked out of the alley way.
"Wow its…we we're home!" Hay Lin beamed they were indeed home just as dusk was falling on the city.
"Ah its good to be back don't think I'll ever get used to that." Irma Lin then walked out the alleyway and found the van they used still parked nearby.
"Ah ha right where I left you." She said. Cornelia then checked her phone and when she looked at it she had like tons of missed calls from Elyon and her parents. The same could be said of the other girls too.
"Oh boy thats the worse part about traveling to a magical land no phone service." Will realised.
"Yeah uh sorry about that." Adam said rubbing his head embarrassed.
Cornelia wasted no time calling her best friend, and after a few rings she answered. "Hello Elyon."
"Cornelia where have you been you said you were visiting Adams hometown but I haven't heard from you?!" Elyons voice bellowed down her phone nearly deafening the blonde Earth Guardian.
"Sorry about that leave it to Adam to tell us that there's zero phone reception when we got there." Cornelia gave her a cover story.
"Why where does he live in the dark ages?!" Elyon said.
"Ah yeah, but hey I brought you back a souvenir I'll show it to you after school tomorrow." Cornelia said still holding the flower that Moss Man had given her.
Everyone soon got inside the van and drove away from the alleyway, where the ride time would be taken up with an awful lot of phone calls and some questions that needed answering. Just another day in the life of a Champion of Grayskull and Guardians of the Veil.
Silver Dragon:
Later that night when everyone was dropped off at home Yan Lin was in the basement doing some ironing. Caleb and Blunk had headed back to Meridian after Will found them a portal as they were anxious to get back.
Just as Yan Lin folded a shirt a voice called her name. "Yan Lin." the veteran Guardian's gaze then turned to a certain magic mirror on the wall. It glowed and emerging from it was the astral projection of the Sorceress.
"I have a feeling I know what this sudden meeting is about old friend." Yan Lin said as she approached the projection.
"Yes, or did you believe it hadn't escaped my notice that you were evesdropping on my conversation with Man At Arms earlier." The Sorceress said knowingly.
"Ah yes, well considering I don't have my full Guardian powers becoming invisible wasn't much of an option." Yan Lin said knowingly. "But yes I stowed aboard Duncans Wind Raider as I sensed something was wrong. Didn't even know I was there. I couldn't help but listen in on your story."
"And I sense you have questions." The Sorceress said.
"Yes, I am rather surprised that this is the first you've spoken of having a lover or even a child." Yan Lin said still taking it all in.
"As I told Man At Arms there are somethings in my past that are better left forgotten." The Sorceress explained. "But there are somethings that I still cherish, though I don't often show it."
"Hmmm." Yan Lin mused. "You know, my granddaughter and her friends are growing in their abilities, most of all is a keen perception. And the minute we arrived at the palace I noticed that they couldn't help but notice some…similarities between…Teela and yourself." The Sorceress kept her demeanour as she knew what the old Guardian was referring to.
"And it doesn't take much to put two and two together as the kids say these days." Yan Lin said. "The child you spoke of in your story."
"Its Teela isn't it?"
The Sorceress kept her neutral demeanour, with what was asked of her. "Your insight serves you well old friend, as does your own perception." She said. "But yes Teela is indeed my daughter."
She then showed Yan Lin a projection in the mirror of a time long ago, a time after the Great Unrest. She saw a younger Man At Arms at Castle Grayskull with the Sorceress, who carried a young baby in her arms. She was offering her to him.
"But she is your daughter?" Duncan said in great surprise as he took her from her mother.
"I cannot raise her." The Sorceress explained. "I have responsibilities that you cannot even imagine."
Duncan looked down upon the child and saw her innocent face. One he could not bare to see unloved and without a home. "I will raise her as my own, she will want for nothing you have my word." The Sorceress bore a look of sadness on her face as he vowed that to her.
The projection of the mirror then vanished leaving Yan Lin to take it all in. "After Keldors defeat and the raising of the crystal barrier I entrusted Teela to Man At Arms to raise as his own."
"Does she know?" Yan Lin asked.
"No, and she must not. To burden a child with knowledge beyond her kin could have consequences beyond consideration." The Sorceress said with heavy eyes. "It could fracture her mind."
Yan Lin couldn't help but sympathies with the Sorceress. "I see now the true weight that the burden of guarding the power inside that fortress carries. The sacrifices you have had to make, all for the sake of protecting the universe, the infinite dimensions."
"Sometimes we have to do things we do not wish to do in order for the greater good." The Sorceress said. "You should know that more than most."
"Yes. Yes I do." Yan Lin admitted with some sorrow of her own. "But I sense there is more than just being with your child that you have sacrificed isn't there?" The Sorceress couldn't hide her look of heartbreak and sorrow, for there was something more indeed. "The wounded soldier from your story. It…it was Duncan." Yan Lin realised.
"Despite his wounds being healed, when I looked in his eyes as he helped me raise the crystal barrier cutting of the Dark Hemisphere. I realised it was him, the very soldier who came to Pelleezeea wounded, my beloved was the very man who guards my secret to this day." The Sorceress explained.
"So there is more to your relationship than a mutual interest in He-Man and Prince Adam." Yan Lin realised. "Yet he does not know it."
"No, he did not recognise me. I realised it was for the best, for the good of Eternia." The Sorceress said though she did trembling and with a heavy heart. "Yet though my resolve is strong, there are times I feel a..a wanting like there is something missing that I am not truly whole."
"You still love him, don't you?" Yan Lin said softly and the Sorceress looked at her with those same longing eyes which told her all that she needed to know.
"I…I cannot…" She trembled. "As long as the power of the Elders must be safe guarded from those who would abuse it." She then looked with some resolve. "Love is a luxury I cannot afford."
Yan Lin could see fully well the toll the burden of protecting Grayskull and its secrets had taken on the Sorceress. It was the emotional toll of a mother longing to be with her child and husband but cannot as long she is bound to this burden. One she herself would not wish on anyone, but she had to make a similar choice to protect her own family from the life she lead with her own team.
"You know Teela Na, love is a funny thing it can take on many forms and can still exist even if we do not see it ourselves." Yan Lin said to her in an understanding way. "I believe Duncan does remember who you truly are, and he does still care. Why else would he adopt Teela as his own, if he realised that she was indeed his biological child."
This did make The Sorceress consider all that the old Guardian was saying to her. Perhaps Man At Arms did indeed remember his time in the village but chose not to say out of respect for her choices.
"And though you have had to make sacrifices for the sake of the realm, I can see you still love and care for them." Yan Lin smiled.
"More than you can imagine." The Sorceress admitted with a small hint of a warm smile.
"Rest assured your secret is safe with me." Yan Lin said bowing to her as she nodded in acknowledgement. But little did they realised they were being overheard. For behind the wall at the staircase a certain Trollan was listening and he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"Until we speak again." The Sorceress said as her projection disappeared back into the magic mirror leaving Yan Lin completely alone.
Without even turning round Yan Lin spoke. "Orko. I know you are there, come on out."
Realising he was busted Orko emerged from the stairwell of the basement looking very nervous. "Oh uh…h..hi. I…I was just looking for a midnight snack and well."
Before Orko could finish that sentence Yan Lin looked at him with a very serious expression on her face. "Orko. You will never speak of what you have heard here not to the girls, Caleb and certainly not Adam. Do you understand?"
"Y..Yes I..I understand." Orko shuddered rather nervous. "I won't say a word after all I've kept Adams secret for so long I'm kinda used to it."
Yan Lins serious face then turned to a relieved smile. "I'm sure you have my little friend. Now off to bed pip pip." So with that Orko floated back up the stairs to bed while Yan Lin looked content knowing the Sorceress's secret was safe. For learning knowledge one did not understand can sometimes affect us in ways that no one is prepared for.
Snake Mountain: Eternia:
Within the dark confines of Snake Mountain a pool of dark waters reside. Suddenly a familiar skull head emerged from its waters one consumed with fury it is shown on his face. In the hallway outside Evil Lyn approached in turning a corner she saw Skeletor had changed into his cloak and armour attire. She saw his bare skull head the first time she saw it was when he was Keldor and made a deal with a certain devil.
"Evil Lyn!" She was startled in surprise that her master sensed her presence. Said master proceeded to pull his hood back over his head before he turned to face her. "You better not have disturbed me for no reason!"
"Ah uh n..no Skeletor of course not." Evil Lyn stuttered. "However in light of your recent defeat it does not seem like you to be pouting in the bath."
The emperor of havoc responded to that by the reach of his hand summoning his Havoc Staff which flew right past a startled witch and into his hand. "If I were you I would not confuse pouting with plotting my dear Evil Lyn! And I do not want to hear another word of my recent humiliation at the hands of He-Man and those children!"
"My apologies." Evil Lyn bowed. "I did not mean to overstep, however I believe I may have found something that will lift your spirts and may inspire the vengeance we so crave against your enemies!"
Skeletor was intrigued by what was said. "Hmm.. Go on."
Evil Lyn then placed her staff in the ground and used her magic to show visions of memories of a certain Guardian leader. "You recall my probing of the Guardian leaders mind? Well I have been scouring these memories to discern why the Heart of Kandrakar had chosen a new generation of Guardians and after painstaking effort I believe I have found something."
Skeletor continued to listen to the witches words. "It would appear the veil I discovered seems to isolate a certain world leaking into Earth, and I have learned of this worlds name. Meridian."
"Meridian." This peeked Skeletors attention even more.
"Yes, and it seems there is a rebellion in this world, but more intriguingly Prince Adam and He-Man have been aiding the Guardians and this rebellion." Evil Lyn showed the memories of the Guardians, Adams and He-Mans many battles, thankfully though she had not discovered the memories of both the prince and champion being one and the same.
"In addition Beast Mans discovery of his peoples ancient writing it would seem they seek a certain girl who is the rightful heir to the Meridian Throne." Evil Lyn explained. "Who yet remains unidentified."
"Hmmm the message Beast Man spoke of, the one speaking of a search for a girl." Skeletor realised. "So I was right there is another power at work, this seems…promising." Skeletor smirked as his eyes blazed red. "Extremely promising."
"Oh and thats not all, it would seem an old friend of ours is in this land as well." Evil Lyn then showed a projection of a particular individual one Skeletor really didn't expect but just widened his devilish smirk even more.
"Well then…" Skeletor decided. "Perhaps it is time I visited this world. Personally."
The master of havoc laughed aloud his cackles echoed through the very halls of this ancient serpentine fortress and into the very ash filled air of the Dark desire for conquest had now turned its attention. To Earth and Meridian.
Moral:
The birds high above the Royal Palace of Eternos echoed their chorus in the air, while far below in a courtyard next to a statue of a guard standing vidil. Man At Arms watched a young boy reading a book.
"Everything that happens in your life gets stored in your mind and becomes part of your memory." Man At Arms said speaking to the fourth wall. "Things you read in books, people you meet." He gestured to an old man walking by. "The things you do today will be what you remember tomorrow and what others will remember about you. So always try to do your best. Be kind and helpful and you'll have wonderful memories to look back on."
He was about to walk away but then he remembered something important and turned back to the camera. "Oh, heheh, I almost forgot. Until next time." He gave a wink and a thumbs up.
Authors Notes: A...nd scene! Whew that was a long one, but I had fun writing it. Now as I'm sure many of you have noticed Duncan is the wounded soldier from the Sorceress's past, I've heard many say that Fisto was that wounded soldier but upon a closer look at this episode I could see it was Duncan based on his facial features and uniform from the time of the Great Unrest. Plus in Revelation it was revealed that Duncan was in fact Teela's biological father so it made sense for me to incorperate that into this story. Not to mention emphasise how much the Sorceress has given up to protect Grayskull, and how at times her resolve can shake from the desire to be with her family but her will to do what is nessecary to protect the Elders power and keep He-Mans secret. This will be something shown in later chapters.
Plus Cornelia has learned to work outside her element under Mossmans guidance I realised with the Clay Skeleton Warriors her power over Earth would prove useful in this chapter. But now Yan Lin and Orko know of Teela's true heritage and must keep it a secret. Now I wasn't sure if after the Ties that Bind episode that Adam knew Teela was the Sorceress's daughter but I decided to roll with the impression that he would've figured it out in season 3.
But now our heroes are back on Earth and the Fight to free Meridian continues and so onto the next chapter where a simple ski trip is turned upside down!
So Until next time.
BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!
