**Warning: Descriptions of self harm, death, assault, abuse, foul language, and Hellsing typical violence/gore. Please be aware and read with caution. **

There was a bluebird that used to nest outside Olivia's window in Szentendre.

He used to peck at the glass and let out an adorable 'peep! peep!' whenever she waved at him, her chubby five year cheeks puffed out in a grin.

She named him Mr. Bbo Bbo because his pecks were like kisses and it became a routine for her to spend her mornings greeting him. Sometimes they would share kisses through the glass while other times Olivia would feed him berries.

"Grow up strong, Mr. Bbo Bbo!" She giggled, watching the puffy bluebird peck at the berries she'd left out for him the night prior. "Apa says babies have to eat a lot so they can grow up big and strong! So I'm going to feed you lots so you can be super strong and super big! Oooh! Maybe you'll grow big enough that I can ride on your back!" She flailed her arms around in delight, her oversized sleeves nearly smacking her in the face.

So Olivia did just that, leaving a handful of berries outside her window every night before bed and awakening to find her little friend pecking away.

Until one morning when Olivia hopped onto the stepstool in front of the window and found the handful of berries untouched and 'red paint' dripping from the windowsill.

"Mr. Bbo Bbo?" She tapped the window, hoping to see her little friend flutter on over. "It's breakfast time! Where are you?"

Then, very faintly, she heard a 'Peep, peep' from the bushes below.

Without a moment's hesitation, Olivia leapt off the stool and hurried down the stairs and out the door, ignoring her parents' calls of concern.

It had been raining the night before and her tiny, yet frantic footsteps left impressions in the mud. But she didn't care and quickly knelt before the bushes below the bedroom window.

And there, tangled in the branches with his breast covered in blood, was Mr. Bbo Bbo.

Stray animals were common in the area, and one most likely took a bite at the bird before losing interest, leaving the poor thing to bleed out.

"Mr. Bbo Bbo…." Olivia whimpered, tears bubbling down her cheeks. "D-Don't worry! I'll save you!"

And without a second thought, she snatched Mr. Bbo Bbo from the branches and raced back towards the house, blood now gushing between her fingers.

Through violent sobs, Olivia brandished her friend forward, begging her parents to save him.

Completely unaware the bird had already died.

Not from blood loss.

But from being crushed in Olivia's grip.

Silently, Zsofia pried his corpse from Olivia's grip and left while Jwa-jin wiped her bloodied hands and held her close as her sobs filled the house.

And when Olivia demanded a reason for why they couldn't save Mr. Bbo Bbo, her parents just looked at each other in distress.

Even if Olivia hadn't snapped his neck, the bird was already beyond saving—her actions, accidently as they were, were an act of mercy. But how can you tell a five year old that? And whatever animal attacked Mr. Bbo Bbo wasn't the villain either because it was just part of the circle of life.

Instead, they just held her close and said the only answer they could think of—life is cruel.

No matter how much you love something, no matter how much you protect it, no matter how much it "didn't deserve this", it didn't matter in the end.

Because life didn't need a reason to be cruel.

It just was.

Life was cruel.

Life was cruel.

"Life is cruel." Olivia whispered, staring up at her parents' merged faces as their grip tightened around her neck. "Life is cruel."

"Sir Hellsing!" Elizabeth elbowed her guards aside, her composed mask slipping at his declaration. "Retract your order this instant!"

"Arthur," Sir Islands piped up as well, glasses sliding off his nose. "Like I said, something needs to be done but—for God's sake!—we've known Olivia since she was a child! How can you sentence her to death so easily?! Have you gone mad?!"

"Yes, that must be it." Arthur gave a dry chuckle, swinging the chain around. "I've gone absolutely, fucking mad, that is the only explanation. After all, only a mad man would permit a monster to roam freely and allow it to bond with a human. That is why I have to make things right—I must regain control of my servant! And if that means killing Oliva, then so be it!" And with that, Arthur whipped the chain towards Alucard, just as Baskerville pounced with his fangs bared. The chain seized the hound's neck, and he was yanked to the ground with a yelp, smoke sizzling from his neck. "First thing is to lock you back in the dungeon; I was a fool to let you leave to begin with."

"So all those reassurances of trust on our garden stroll were nothing but lies I see! If there is a fool here, it is me for believing in you!" Alucard hissed as he retracted Baskerville and drew his pistol.

"Did I not say 'should you disobey or act without my orders again, I will chain you in the catacombs below and leave you to starve'?! Remember that?! Don't quarrel with me, servant!"

"Don't call me that! I will no longer be your family's dog! I know what I truly am!"

"That is all you are and ever will be! What are you if not a dog then?!"

"I am me! I am Vlad Dracul, son of Princess Vasilissa Catuna Chiejna Muşat of Moldavia, and I am Dracula, the No Life King. But, most importantly, I am husband to Olivia Emese Song, the only soul—living or dead—I will ever kneel before again. You and your bloodline have no power over me!" In that moment, Alucard's eyes were blue and his voice thick with a Romanian accent. "Come at me as you will—as you and your blood always have—but raise a finger to Olivia and I'll drag you and everyone in this room to Hell!"

Only Arthur and Walter didn't tremble at his threat, instead focusing on how utterly human Alucard appeared.

'Look at him,' The creature's voice sighed in Arthur's ears. 'The blood of his mortal wife running through his veins has reduced him to such a state of emotion! Goodness, he is becoming more human by the minute! Hurry along, Hellsing~! The longer this dance goes on, the further he slips from your control~!'

'No,' Arthur shook his head, spinning the chain once more. 'I will fix this! I have to!"

"Don't make things harder than they need to be, Alucard." Arthur eyed the wedding ring on his finger with a bloodshot gaze. "That will need to go as well."

"Take my ring, and I'll take your head! Don't think I won't—NNGH!"

Striking while he was distracted, Arthur whipped the chain around Alucard's heels and heaved him to the floor, quickly ensnaring his wrists and trapping his fallen pistol under his heel.

"You truly are weaker if your reflexes have gotten so stagnant." Arthur scoffed before leering over his shoulder at his faithful butler. "Why are you still here? You have your orders. Go."

Eyes squeezing shut, Walter scraped the remaining blood from his mouth and glowered at Alucard, his eyes clearly blaring 'This is all your fault!'.

"Walter," Arthur cleared his throat, giving his butler the side eye. "I said, you have your orders. Now g—!"

"You will do no such thing!" The door flew open, revealing a livid Manali and petrified Pushpa trailing behind her. "I voiced my reservations to you before, but this just proves it! You view your soldiers as nothing but pawns! You employ children to fight your battles and toss them aside at the first hint of trouble! You aren't worthy of your title! You aren't worthy to be head of this organization! You should be—!" Manali stumbled forward, almost crashing to the ground if Elizabeth didn't shove her guards aside to catch her advisor.

"Manali!"

"Mummy!"

"I won't allow it…." Manali jabbed a trembling finger in Arthur's direction, her vision fading in and out. "Those in power always betray the innocent….I don't care if she married Satan himself, Olivia will not die because of your wickedness!"

"Manali! Please don't overexert yourself." Elizabeth fretted, brushing her sweat soaked hair behind her ear. "Pushpa, take your mother back to her room. I will—."

"I swear, I will never allow you a moment's peace for the rest of your miserable life if you continue like this!" Manali carried on, despite worried hands attempting to restrain her. "Elizabeth! Will you allow this madness to transpire?! Are you not the Queen of this damn country?!"

"I—!"

"You may have your opinions of me, and I will not deny them. But what I do with what is mine is out of your control." Arthur matched Manali's withering glare with a frigid one. "You may punish me as you see fit, Your Majesty, but for the greater good of the world, I am doing what needs to be done."

"Sir Hellsing! You can't—!"

"But, if you want things done politically, then so be it. You may have executive authority, Your Majesty, but not without majority approval from the Council." He then beheld his fellow members, making sure to stare each in the eye. "In light of all that has transpired, all in favor of the execution of Lieutenant General Olivia Emese Song, say 'Aye'."

And sure enough, all Council members—save for Islands and Penwood—voiced their agreement.

"And there you go." Arthur muttered, giving Elizabeth and Manali a blank stare before his attention was recaptured by a seething Alucard who—despite his binds and the burns spreading across his skin—was still fighting like hell to rip him to shreds. "Hold on, Walter," Arthur kicked Alucard's pistol over to him before holding an arm out. "Take that with you and before you leave, fill one of those teacups with my blood."

"Arthur?" Penwood finally spoke up, his bewilderment a mirror image of everyone else's. "What are you—?"

"I need to re-establish my hold on Alucard, and that means diluting Olivia's blood with mine." Arthur only gave a slight twitch as Walter nicked his wrist and filled the cup before bandaging it with his handkerchief. "I'll give you a chance to drink this yourself." He held the cup beneath Alucard's nose, even waving it slightly like one does to a dog. "Go on."

"I vowed to forevermore drink from one 'master' and that is not you." Alucard spat into the cup with a smirk. "And I would never drink something so repugnant."

"Don't worry," Arthur sighed, using the hand holding the chain to yank Alucard's hair back. "What you want doesn't matter."

"Wha—NNGH?!"

With his other hand, Arthur shoved the tea cup into Alucard's mouth, forcing him to swallow his blood as he fought against his bindings.

To the others, it was like a caged animal lashing out against a predator.

But to Alucard…no, to Vlad, all he could see was the Sultan looming above him, restraining his eight year old body and demanding he "Stay still!" as Arthur's voice flowed from his lips.

'No! No! No! NO! NO! STOP IT! LET ME GO!' Both child and adult Vlad wailed in unison, fighting his gag reflex as well as the chain and grip that keep him immobile. But it was for naught, he couldn't move, he couldn't fight—all he could do was wait for it to be over as someone else forced their will upon him.

Again and again.

Tears of blood and water stained his cheeks as Hellsing blood entered his veins and the humanly warmth was sapped from his body. His skin was paper white, his eyes scarlet red, and as the cup was removed his mouth—drenched in blood and saliva—Alucard felt nothing but familiar cold shackles constricting his heart.

"Now then," Arthur muttered an incantation, and the sigils on Alucard's hands glowed before his body was suddenly paralyzed from head to toe. "Now that my servant is 'docile' once more, it is time to address the business at hand. Walter," He handed the tea cup back to him, "prove your prowess as Hellsing's Angel of Death and track Olivia down. No one leaves this manor until she is captured or her corpse is presented to me, so I advise all of you to get comfortable. And you," Arthur zeroed in on Acelie, dragging Alucard's stagnant form behind him. "You are going to find out exactly what I'm poisoned with, and you will develop a cure for me, is that clear?"

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Acelie breathed out, taking in the sweat drenched man with blown out pupils before her. "Where is the honorable Sir Hellsing my mentor spoke of?"

Then, a revelation occurred to her.

'Wait, could his horrid behavior be an effect of the poison, heightening the paranoia already plaguing his mind?!'

"There is no place for honor on the battlefield; all that matters in the end is who stands victorious above their enemy's corpse."

And with that, Arthur proceeded to drag Alucard—who was now bleeding from one eye—out as the room fell into an uproar. And in the midst of it all, Walter spotted Anderson slip out of the room with Pushpa not far behind.

"Where are you going?" Pushpa hurried after Anderson, trying to match his brisk pace through her tears and stumbles. "Wait! Please slow down, Alexander!"

"Stop following me!" Anderson barked over his shoulder, breaking into a sprint now. "Just stay with your mother! It's not like you can do anything anyways!"

Pushpa shouted something in return, but it registered as nothing but white noise as he raced across the foyer and out the door into the freezing night.

What a brood of vipers! His brothers were right; the Hellsing Organization was a godless pit of heathens. How quick they were to betray each other! And that monster, Alucard, the way he wept like a frightened child as his 'master' forced his blood upon him! It made his skin crawl, and he wanted nothing more than to burn the manor down.

But that could wait until later; he had to find Olivia first.

His mission was still at the forefront of his mind, and he knew if he found Olivia he would find that demon as well.

Skidding to a halt in the area where he'd met Olivia earlier, Anderson whipped out his bible and furiously began to flip through it.

"What do you plan on doing?!" Pushpa panted, leaning against the tree for support. "You are going to save Olivia, aren't you?!"

"I'm doing my duty, which does not concern you!" Finding the passage he needed, Anderson fell to his knees in the snow and pulled out the bayonet stained with Olivia's blood.

He had only performed divine teleportation once, and it was across the room but this wasn't the time to doubt his abilities.

Chanting under his breath and using her blood as a dowsing rod of sorts, the bible pages began to glow before tearing and swirling around Anderson like a cyclone.

'Concentrate, focus, concentrate, focus,' Anderson repeated in his mind, feeling his legs lift from the ground and the scenery begin to distort. 'Yes, just a little more and—.'

He was torn from his mantra as a pair of arms flung around his neck and he opened his eyes to find Pushpa clinging to him.

"WHAT THE—?! ARE YOU DAFT, WOMAN?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

"I'M COMING WITH YOU!" She cried out, burying her face against his shoulder as they both became airborne.

"ARE YOU STUPID?! WHAT CAN YOU DO BUT BE A BURDEN?!" Anderson tried to shove her away before the teleportation took place, but Pushpa was resilient and just held on tighter.

"OLIVIA RISKED EVERYTHING TO SAVE ME! I…..I HAVE TO DO THE SAME FOR HER! I WON'T LET HER DIE!"

"YOU IDIOT! YOU WILL JUST—!"

The duo was submerged into a mass of light and in a flash they were gone, leaving torn pages and the smell of incense lingering in the air.

"Well, well," Schrodinger purred, curling around Walter's shoulders as he stood in the garden entrance way. "It's seems a game of hide-and-seek has begun. Who will reach that woman first, you or them?"

Walter said not a word, instead picking up one of the pages and finding it stained with Olivia's blood.

'You may be our master, Sir Hellsing, but the one who decides Olivia's fate,' Walter closed his eyes, his wires swirling around him, "is me."

"You are making this a very boring finale, Olivia. C'mon! Do something besides crying!" The creature whined, squeezing her throat to get a rise out of her. But all Olivia did was close her eyes and allow her hands to crash to her side. "Come on!" They smacked her face with a pout. "Come on! Come on! COME ON!" The creature punched her before standing tall, tossing their hands in the air. "Are you giving up then?! We come back from the depths of Hell for a once in a lifetime show, and this is what you give us?! Pathetic!" With a roar, the creature kicked Olivia in the stomach, causing her to fly down the hill and into a briar patch.

Thorns pierced her skin, yet she barely felt them as she curled into a ball and wailed. The ghosts of her soldiers, Martha, Julia, Francesca, and Toby circled around her, chanting the words "What have you done?" which only caused her to burrow deeper into the briars.

"I'm sorry…..I'm sorry…..I'm sorry…." She whimpered, unaware burn marks had sprouted across her wrists and heels.

"And what are you so sorry for?" The creature hummed, hovering upon her.

"I…..I am sorry…..for who and what I am. Because I dared to live when I was meant to die…..because I dared to desire love….because I am…..me….." Olivia opened her eyes, finding her parents' faces glaring down at her. "I'm sorry…."

"So, you are giving up then? You will abandon Alucard so easily?" The creature shook their head, disgust marring their features. "A queen deserting her king? You truly are so fucking pathetic."

"I AM KILLING HIM BECAUSE OF WHAT I AM!" Olivia covered her face, falling into a frenzy of sobs once more. "If I caused him harm, I would never forgive myself. If I…..if I just…..then he will be safe…..right?" Olivia gave an empty laugh, nails digging into her face. "I mean…..like you said, I'm fucked either way so…..if I just disappeared…..then Alucard will be okay right?"

The creature just stared at her before their eyes trailed over the burn marks she had yet to acknowledge.

Heaving a sigh, the creature hoisted Olivia up by her hair and dragged her out of the briar patch.

"You are so blind, aren't you?" They climbed on top of her, grasping her chin with one hand while extending their claws with the other. "Allow us to provide you some needed clarity then."

That was Olivia's only warning as a claw ripped through her left eye and down to her collarbone.

"Wha~t? Why are you screaming?! It wasn't like you were using it!" The creature guffawed, zigzagging their claw through her skin before springing back up. "There! See better now?!"

Olivia could only clutch the side of her face, her screams clogging her throat as blood pooled into her mouth and remaining eye.

"How fortunate that was the eye we were missing~." The creature giggled, pointing to their empty eye socket. "Now, we will ask you again, do you see better now?"

All the creature received were whimpers as Olivia shook her head, barely able to see anything with her remaining eye.

"Uuuuggghhh, fine!" The creature squatted down and snatched her wrist up, brandishing it centimeters from her face. "Do you see this? It's a burn mark, right? But where did it come from?! Not me, in fact this burn wasn't meant for you but an unruly dog!"

The fire raging down her face was long forgotten at the creature's declaration, and realization dawned on Olivia once more.

"That's right!" The creature nodded. "This is from Alucard! Like us, your husband has your blood flowing through his veins. Well, he did until Hellsing forced his blood upon him. Regardless, you both share a heart, and you feel each other's pain to varying degrees. In fact, this degree has been amplified since that night in the palace gardens right?"

"But…..in the manor….I didn't see…he wasn't…."

"What, you thought only you were injured? If you weren't being so dramatic, you would've noticed he was as well. But he didn't give any indication—it was as if he wasn't aware at all! Why do you think that is?"

"Because," Tears burned her remaining eye, washing out the blood seeping into it and allowing her to see a little more clearly. "Alucard is the type to ignore his own misery for me….he would and has sacrificed himself to save me…."

"Ex-act-ly! So you better start fighting for your 'husband's' sake if you don't give a shit about yourself. Because if you die, you might just take him with you! Or even if you die alone, isn't remaining under Hellsing's control a worse fate? Can you die knowing you left your darling husband at his abuser's mercy?"

Olivia's body ran cold as her wrists and heels began to throb, and she saw her husband being dragged to the dungeon with his limbs bound and eye bleeding, Arthur's blood still dripping from his lips.

'No…Alucard….Alucard…ALUCARD!'

The creature suddenly shot to attention, detecting something in the distance as a grin spread across their face.

"Oh~ho~ho~! We have two special guests heading our way. I believe a scenery change is in order!" Hoisting Olivia up by the hair once more, they licked a stripe up the gash on her face. "Shall we, sweetheart?"And the creature snapped their fingers and the Northleach field melted into a monochrome of colors before morphing into a new setting entirely. "There we are~. Home Sweet Home."

Through her hazy vision, Olivia recognized the familiar brick structures before her and realized they had landed on the upper walkway of London's Tower Bridge.

"Wh—? Why did you—?"

"OLIVIA!"

Her head jerked to the right, witnessing Anderson and Pushpa tumble onto the bridge in a flurry of golden paper.

"No…Oh God no! WHY ARE YOU HERE?! GET AWAY NOW!"

"We are here to rescue you!" Pushpa's wide eyes were locked on Olivia's face, her brown skin blanching in pure horror. "Olivia…..I….Wha…..!" She gagged and covered her mouth, hunching over as Anderson drew his bayonets and got into a defensive stance.

"I have a mission to fulfill," Anderson hissed, mentally reciting the Lord's Prayer to distract himself from Olivia's state. "Sending that demon to Hell and rescuing you."

"FORGET YOUR MISSION! FORGET ME! JUST GET OUT OF HERE NOW!"

"But….Olivia…" Pushpa wiped the bile from her lips, forcing herself to look at her square on. "How can we—?"

"I MURDERED AN INNOCENT CHILD ONCE, I WILL NOT ALLOW TWO MORE TO FALL BECAUSE OF ME!" Olivia blindly swiped at the rubble on the platform and feebly hurled each stone at them. "I'M NOT WORTH IT! GET OUT OF HERE AND HURRY BACK TO HEADQUARTERS NOW! I'M BEGGING YOU!"

"We can't! Sir Hel—that man has ordered your execution! His butler is already on his way to find you! And—And he has locked away your husband in the dungeon! He said he will take back control at any cost!".

How many times could one's world shatter in a single day? Olivia knew she was expendable in Arthur's eyes—his actions during Warsaw were proof of that.

Yet, hearing the man she signed away her freedom to order her execution so easily made Olivia fall limp in the creature's hold as a humorless smile graced her split lips.

'I truly mean nothing to you, do I, Arthur Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing?'

"As I said before," Anderson spoke up, finally locking eyes with her, "I know nothing of the sins you've committed, but I know you are innocent of this. So, as an agent of Iscariot, it is my duty to protect you, and you will not stop me from completing my mission."

And with that, Anderson charged forward with a war cry.

"Really now? Fine! A little action will spice up this play!" The creature flung Olivia aside and dashed forward as well, only to be halted by a weight on their leg.

"NO! ANYA, APA, NO!" Olivia pleaded through her sobs, shaking her head in desperation. "LEAVE THEM ALONE! I'M BEGGING YOU PLEASE! DON'T HURT THEM!"

"Will you fight me instead as planned then?"

But Olivia just continued to shake her head and pled for mercy, so the creature kicked her aside and swung their claws out just in time to deflect Anderson's attack.

And Olivia lay there on her side, her blood pooling around her as her tears clouded her already fuzzy vision, watching as Anderson battled against her parents.

He was skilled—the Vatican had taught him well—but it was obvious the creature was stronger and merely toying with him before going in for the kill.

"Please…..stop….stop…." Olivia trembled, attempting to sit up only to slip on her blood. "I'm sorry….it's all my fault…..everyone…..I'm sorry….I'm sorry I'm not—."

'Stronger?'

Olivia's eye shot open, frantically searching for where that booming voice came from.

"Who's there?!"

'I can make all the pain go away, just like I did for your husband all those centuries ago.'

A faint gasp slipped from her lips as she realized who was speaking to her, and the spilled blood flowing back towards her only confirmed her suspicions.

"You…..You're….."

'Look at you…..abandoned by your master….hunted by your brother….responsible for the deaths of loved ones and the imprisonment of your husband…..all because of what you are….but….if you cast aside your wretched human emotions and become what you're truly meant to be…..your pain will go away….' The blood lapped at her skin, almost like a lecher's caress. 'So, come on, drink and you will never be powerless again…..'

Olivia gaped at her reflection in the blood, seeing her horrid state and how already near death she was. This was the same deal Vlad had been given all those centuries ago, and now the Devil had come to tempt her as well.

Would she take it though?

She was already dying, and like she said, either way she was fucked so why not?

Why not give in when living was already Hell on Earth?

"I…" Olivia gulped, her throat like sandpaper. "I….."

"OLIVIA!" Pushpa's sobbing face stumbled into her line of view, covering the tempting blood, and blocking the Devil's voice out. "You have to get up! Come on!"

"Wha…..But…."

"Please, Olivia!" Pushpa was near hysterics, Olivia's body so weak and saturated with blood that she kept slipping out of her grip. Yet, the frightened girl kept trying to pull her up. "That monster is going to kill Alexander! You have to stop it, like you stopped that monster that attacked me!"

Olivia's eye shot over to the battle, and she whimpered to find Anderson on his back, his left cheek sliced open and the creature hovering above him.

They had grown tired of toying around and were prepared to kill him now.

"No…please….I….I….! No….!"

"Please, Olivia! You can stop this!" Pushpa yanked at her arm, drawing her attention back to her. "I know you can!"

"I can't do it! I can't kill my parents again!" Olivia fell back down, the rubble burrowing into her wounds. "Don't you get it?! I can't do it! I CAN'T!"

"They aren't your parents though!" Pushpa seized her by the shoulders, giving her a firm shake. "Just like that cat in the bathroom wasn't really a cat! It's not them! It's not real! Think, Olivia! Would your family really do this to you?! Would they?! WOULD THEY?!"

Time itself had ceased once more, and all Olivia could focus on were Pushpa's words.

"….What….? What did you say….?"

"Would your family—the family you knew—would they want you to suffer like this?" Pushpa whispered, cupping her face between her hands. "Would they?"

It was like light breaking through a forever darkness, and her family's smiling faces and their words from Szentendre embraced her body and soul.

How they didn't blame her for anything.

How they were proud of her regardless of her many sins.

And most importantly, their sole request that she live happily.

Her family….their smiles….their love….would they really do this?

"No…." The declaration left her lips, light suddenly returning to her eye. "They wouldn't…..They never would….because…..because they love me."

"That's right! Yes! Yes!" Pushpa wept with joy, seeing life return to her eye filling the young woman with euphoria. "They love you, just like I love you! So, please!" Pushpa finally pulled her up to her feet and flung her arms around her waist. "Don't give up! Don't let a memory control you! It has no power over you!"

"It….has no power over me….?"

"Yes! It is like my mummy says, 'nothing can harm you unless you allow it t—!'"

"We thought we heard a little rat!" The creature materialized behind Pushpa, seizing her by the neck as they choked Anderson with the other. "We say it is time for a snack now, don't you agree? Both you children smell rather mouthwatering!"

"OLIVIA!" Pushpa flailed around, trying to grab her outstretched hand as she was swept away. "OLIVIA!"

"NO! PUSHPA!" Olivia shot forward only to fall to her knees. "YOU FUCKERS, DON'T YOU DARE HURT THEM!"

"Is that anyway to talk to your parents?" The creature scoffed, tossing both children aside and digging their heels into their backs. "You are not going to do anything but cry so shut up, why don't you?"

"You…..are not my parents….just like that demon was not my brothers…." Olivia staggered to her feet, that familiar flame glowing in her eye. "You exist because of my blood and…..our connection only exists….because I allow my love, my guilt, my memories to harm me. But you…..you are nothing and you have no power over me. No one has power over me! Not you, not that demon, not my family, not my friends, and not the countless souls I've slaughtered. So….I will now take back what is mine….from you….and from Alucard….the one soul—living or deceased—I would ever bare my soul to." Grasping her wedding ring, Olivia bit her lip and mustered all her strength to tell him these last words:

'My dear Alucard, I release you from me,'

Then, with a cry, she tore the ring off and severed the bond between them.

And, in the depths of the Hellsing dungeons, Alucard—still bound and paralyzed—suddenly jerked forward as a piece of his soul disintegrated and his long-cherished heartbeat was returned to its owner.

"Olivia…..what has…what?! Why are you—?!" Clarity washed over him, and he screamed his throat raw as he fought against his restraints, seeing his wife with a missing eye and covered in her own blood. "No….No….! OLIVIA, NO! YOU PROMISED ME! YOU PROMISED! YOU PROMISED TO NEVER LEAVE ME!"

"Forgive me," Olivia whispered, stumbling forward as her limbs turned to jelly and her fractured heart pounded in her ears, 'I love you and…..I pray that….if there truly is mercy in the world….that my body will be given to you before it is too late…."

Forcing herself to stand upright, Olivia pulled Sic Parvis Magna from her sleeve and flung it at the creature's back, causing them to tumble over and free the duo.

"You have something that belongs to me." Olivia rasped out, catching her bow as it boomeranged back to her and gestured for Anderson and Pushpa to move to safety.

"So," The creature chuckled, flexing their wrists and extending their claws once more, "you are finally ready to fight dear mom and dad now?"

"You are not my parents, you are nothing but a parasite and I won't let you desecrate their legacy anymore. Now kneel."

And much to the creature's (and the duo's shock), they crumbled to the knees and contorted as Olivia sauntered towards them, her lone green eye burning in the fading moonlight.

"Wha….?! But how?! How can you do this? Why aren't you affected as well?! We share the same blood!"

"Like I said, you have no power over me—no one does. I am me, and I won't let anyone—living or dead—control me." Dropping Sic Parvis Magna, Olivia seized the creature by the throat and peered over at the trembling children. "Thank you, both of you. Now close your eyes as I end this nightmare once and for all."

And, without question, both children nodded and covered their eyes as the sounds of skin tearing and demonic wails filled the air.

"You may wear the skins of my parents, but you are not them. And you are right, that is my blood flowing through your veins! It's mine! And I reclaiming what is mine!" Olivia buried her fingers into the stitching on their neck and tore their chest open where their beating heart lay. "NOW GO TO HELL!"

And Olivia—Olivia Emese Song the human woman, not the Queen of the Night—devoured the creature's flesh and slurped her blood back up, even licking it from her hands and arms.

Then, in a matter of moments, it was over and all that remained of the creature were scraps of cloth.

'Good,' The Devil chuckled in her ears. 'You are moments away from death's door, now allow the contaminated blood to consume your body and make you whole once more.'

"No," Olivia croaked out, her skin translucent beneath the layers of blood. "I refuse your power, your gifts, your everything. My transformation into the immortal life will be my choice, not yours! Now get out of me! GET OUT! GET OUT!" And she hunched over, her body convulsing before black tar spewed out of the gashes littering her body, disintegrating into smoke upon hitting the ground. "I will not allow myself to be anyone's puppet again….."

"Y—Y-You…." Anderson stuttered, his eyes wide open while keeping Pushpa's eyes covered despite her protests. "You banished the Devil….you resisted temptation…!"

"Anderson…..Alexander…..please," Olivia collapsed onto her stomach, unable to sit up straight anymore. "Take me back to the manor….take me to my husband…please…"

"What?! Why?!"

"Because…..it is time to take my place as Queen of the Night….as the No Life Queen."

"What?! But you—! You just rejected the Devil's offer for immortality, and you still want to become a vampire?! A monster?"

"I just want to be with my husband." Olivia gave a weak laugh and smiled—the first actual smile Anderson had seen from her. "I have made my decision, and it is to be with the man I love. So please….bring me to him before time runs out….."

Pushpa's eyes, now exposed, began to weep again and she looked to Anderson for his decision. And, much to the young duo's surprise, Anderson found himself nodding and crawling towards Olivia.

"If…..that is truly what you wish, then…..in return for saving my life and avenging my brothers, I will—."

"You will what?"

Suddenly all three of them were flung apart and suspended in the air by wires.

Pushpa panicked, Anderson tried to break free, and Olivia….Olivia just stared down at her childhood friend as he stared back up at her, his eyes cold and distant as he smoked away.

"Walter," She breathed out, too weak to even raise her head. "Are you here to kill me?"

Walter didn't respond, just dropped his cigarette and snubbed it out beneath his heel before leering back up at her.

"So," He stuffed his hands in his pockets. "In the end, you are choosing Alucard. Is that truly what you want?"

"…..Yes," Olivia's eye fluttered shut as her hearing began to fade out. "I want to be at my husband's side now and live out our eternity…together."

"Then," Olivia gasped as she was suddenly lowered and placed in Walter's arms. "Allow me to say goodbye while your heart still beats."

"Wha—Walter, are your really—Mmph?!"

She was silenced by his lips on hers, the kiss smothering as he tangled his fingers in her hair and clutched her body against his. Even with her fading strength, Olivia tried to push him away but he refused to let her go—as if the world would end if he did.

But, eventually he did, only to lean back to gaze into her bewildered eye.

"Wa—Walter, why….? Why did you—?"

"I love you, Olivia Emese Song. You know that. But, you've made your decision and I've made mine. So," Still holding her up with one hand, Walter reached into his waistcoat and pulled out Alucard's pistol with the other, the hammer already pulled back. "I won't ask your forgiveness." He placed a kiss to her forehead as he placed the pistol's barrel to her chest. "Farewell, Your Majesty."

"Walter—?!"

BANG

BANG

BANG

And as the morning light swept over London, casting the streets in a blood red glow, Anderson and Pushpa's screams filled the air as Olivia went limp in Walter's arms.

"NOOO! OLIVIA! OLIVIA!"Pushpa wailed, the wires slicing into her skin as she flailed around. "OPEN YOUR EYES! PLEASE OPEN YOUR EYES! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!"

"HOW COULD YOU?!" Anderson roared, tears pouring down his cheeks as well. "SHE WAS INNOCENT! SHE WAS YOUR FRIEND! HOW COULD YOU KILL HER?! YOU MURDERER! YOU FUCKING MURDERER!"

"Like I said, the person who decides your fate," Walter carried her limp body to the edge of the platform, giving her pale lips one last kiss, "Is me."

And he dumped her body over the edge, watching his only friend and partner's body crash into the Thames and disappear below the surface before lighting another cigarette.

"Long live the Queen."

I love you guys 3

Okay, everyone's reaction and the aftermath will be in the next chapter. But this is something I had planned for a while, and if you see a lot of similarities with Alucard's death (Seras/Pushpa's intervention, etc.) it was on purpose, and just to clarify, Olivia shattered her bond to Alucard because he is the only being she will allow to have power over her, so she had to break the bond so he wouldn't suffer with her. I will explain everything entirely in the next chapter, so please hold your questions until then because I will probably answer them then lol. In the canon manga, there were a lot of plot holes (at least in my eyes) regarding how Alucard got locked away since he was so powerful and why an all knowing vampire didn't know Walter was going to betray them. In L'amour I have that as a weakness of Alucard losing his vampire powers because of Olivia's mortal blood. So Alucard knows something is wrong with Walter, but he doesn't know about the betrayal because he can't see that far. But, like I said on my blog, I know you guys are going to come for my ass but let me assure you that this fic will have a happy ending and now we can get into the more canon lore now. So please rest assured this fic will change to happier things…..eventually. In the mean time, I plan on posting some one shots on my blog regarding Aluvia so if you want some happier things, they are coming lol.

Anyways, I still hope you guys liked this chapter! Please leave a review! I love them all and you all so much! Please be healthy and well and safe out there! I believe in all of you! Look forward to the next chapter! :D
