A sunny day in Enchancia, making the kingdom as lively as ever, but not only because of the sun. Today is Valentine's Day where girls can show their appreciation to any man that they harbor feelings towards. Everyone participates on it, from kids to adults and even elderly people

And one would assume everyone is looking forward to it.

"Cedric.."

Cedric's eyes slowly peek open, and a face of a beautiful maiden greeted him. Her overall face was still blurry from his daze but he can tell from her cream-pinkish skin, sky blue eyes and auburn hair

"Ceeedric~"

"Damn, such a beautiful voice…" he hummed slow as he closes his eyes again to make the most of it

.

.

.

"Good Morning, Mister Ceedric!"

And just like that, the image of the woman of his dreams vanished in thin air when a familiar voice echoed in his thoughts

"Wait what.."

His eyes immediately darted open, and the first thing he saw was a certain face close up. When his consciousness finally kicked in, he immediately recognized who it was

"Hi~"

His eyes drooped down in disappointment as he laid back down on the sofa he was just sleeping on

"Did you oversleep again last night?" she leaned in closer

Cedric didn't budge and laid still. "Just a few more seconds, she will just take a hint and leave" he whispered to himself

Or at least that's what he wants it to be.

"I brought you hot chocolate~"

Upon hearing those set of words conveyed in a sing-song tone, he immediately opened his eyes and sat up

"Did you say…" Cedric mumbled slow "Hot chocolate..?"

Sofia smiled "Mhm…" she moved to the side, revealing a nice cup of hot liquid on his table.

When the aroma hit Cedric, he was immediately drawn in. He wasted no time and reached out to the offering Sofia had made him and took a sip

"Mmmm.." he hummed, consuming the drink he's holding "This is good stuff"

"Glad you like it~" Sofia said in a delighted tone "I made it special for Mister Ceedric"

Upon hearing that, the man immediately put down the cup and looked away "I-I mean… this is not bad.. I guess"

Sofia just smiled at him for a couple of seconds before he finally took the initiative to do something

"Hey Princess Sofia.." he asked in a coy way while scratching his head "Don't you have school today?"

Suddenly, Sofia's eyes widened in realization

"Of course! I almost forgot" she uttered

"Well you better head off now and prepare" Cedric said "Have you had your breakfast yet at least?"

"Not yet actually.."

A surge of annoyance came to Cedric with his fists clenched upon hearing her answer

"This girl came to bug me first thing in the morning instead of eating breakfast!?" Annoyed, Cedric grunted in his thoughts, glaring at her from the corner of his eyes while she is distracted

"Well, I better prepare. See you later, Mister Ceedric!" Sofia waved him goodbye as she made her way out the workshop and left

Cedric just shook his head in disbelief as he watched her descend from the staircase

"Unbelievable.."

All of a sudden, a sound of flapping wings came from the window and it caught his attention. A dove bird suddenly flew in and with a piece of paper on the talons. The bird stared at Cedric for a few seconds before finally flying away, leaving the piece of paper on his working table

"the heck was that?.." Cedric walked and picked the paper up. He then realizes it was a letter all along

This left Cedric puzzled. Who would bother giving him a letter first and foremost?

But when he looked at the calendar and realized what day it was, his face lit up.

"A love letter for Valentine's Day" Cedric uttered in sudden joy "There's a woman out there who wrote this for me!"

"I have an admirer!" he added in excitement

Cedric was about to open it up and read the contents, but then something came to him

"Hmm…" he looked around and hid the letter on his pocket "That Sofia could come in anytime and catch me holding this." He uttered, knowing well the workshop didn't have a lock yet and anyone can come in anytime "Last thing I want is to pique that girl's curiosity whatsoever.."

"Maybe I should read this somewhere quiet"

And so, Cedric went out from the other entrance of the tower and out of the castle straight to the garden. He finally got a nice view of the sun above. It was pleasant.

But his thoughts were somewhere else currently that he couldn't care less about the surroundings

"Finally…" Cedric bit his lip in anticipation and carefully opened the letter "Let's see what my admirer has to say to me. "

"I hope she's pretty, he-he.." Cedric started daydreaming of a couple of beautiful women that could be behind it. He got way too preoccupied that he didn't notice footsteps from nearby

.

.

"Mis…ter Ceedric?"

"NYAGH–"

Cedric jumped in surprise, fumbling the letter out of his hands and was launched unto the air. But he managed to catch it at the last second

"P-Princess Sofia?" he stuttered in nervousness "What are you doing here?"

"Where the hell did she come from!?" he screamed in his thoughts

"Oh, the coach is right there" Sofia pointed at the direction behind Cedric "We're just waiting for Amber to finish preparing.

"Then I saw you here.." she concluded

"Damn it, they usually would be heading out by now." He whined in his thoughts "What the hell is taking Amber so long!?"

"Is that a letter you're holding?" Sofia tilted her head in curiosity

"Great, now she's gonna be all prying about it and ask too much questions. I wanted to keep this a secret from her…" he rambled on in his thoughts

Nothing good ever happens when she's around!"

"yeah it is.." Cedric looked away

"Oh okay."

.

.

.

A few moments passed and Cedric just stared at the girl in front of him.

"You won't ask questions about it or anything?" Cedric said

"Nope!" Sofia answered in a polite way

"Okay then.."

Cedric found it odd, Sofia would be all over him by now when he's hiding something from her. But for some reason, she's rather passive about the whole thing

An oddity he was thankful of. At least he won't have to deal with her for a change

"Well, I guess I'll dip and head back to the workshop now. Take care, Princess Sofia" Cedric forced a smile, as he started walking Sofia's direction where the entrance to the tower resides

But before he could pass by the girl..

"I know who gave you that letter."

Cedric stopped in his tracks and turned around

"You do?"

"Mhm!" Sofia nodded her head

"Really?"

"yes, really?"

"You know what she looks like?"

"Of course"

"Is she beautiful?"

"I'm sure she is Mister Ceedric's liking"

Hearing that lit up Cedric's mood as his expectations started running wild. Sofia is an annoying girl, but she is not a liar. And so whatever she's telling him must be nothing but the truth

"I hit the jackpot!" Cedric started celebrating in his thoughts

He decided to keep himself composed however as he turned to Sofia once more

"Do you know her by any chance?" Cedric asked in an enthusiastic way "What's her name?"

"Ofcourse I know her.."

"ALRIGHT!" Cedric hollered in a festive manner.

"So when can I meet this lovely wom-"

"That someone is me."

.

.

.

.

"w-What?"

Suddenly, Sofia's lips curves into a smile as she looked into Cedric's eyes

.

.

.

"That someone is me~"

.

.

Flabbergasted, Cedric took a step back with a horrified look on his face

"Wha… why you?" Cedric could barely speak "The letter was from you all along?"

Sofia just nodded her head upwards

In that moment, Cedric got infuriated as he reached out for the letter once more and ripped it open. Inside was another piece of paper with a couple of words

~0~

Dear Mister Ceedric

Me and Clover are having apple pie picnic later afternoon and you are invited

-Sofia

~0~

Upon reading the last word, Cedric dropped to his knees in shock. He couldn't believe it.

His love letter was just a lousy invitation all along

Sofia approached her and rested her hand on Cedric's shoulder "We're looking forward to your attendance this afternoon!" Sofia said in a welcoming manner

The man didn't respond

"Princess Sofia!" Baileywick called out up ahead from the coach "Your sister is here. It's time to go to school"

"I'll be right there!" Sofia turned to Cedric still kneeling down and carefully wrapped his head with her arms for an embrace

"I have to go, Mister Ceedric" she whispered under her breath "and Happy Valentine's Day!"

"Bah, get off me!" Cedric quickly stood up and shoved Sofia away, turned red in embarrassment in the process

Sofia giggled at his reaction as she ran to the other direction and went to the coach

Meanwhile, Cedric just stood as his embarrassment slowly faded away. As if his morning couldn't have been worse with the letter dilemma, he just had to be treated like one of Sofia's pets to her liking like that

Another failure from the man himself, making himself a fool in front of Sofia of all people.

He should've known spending Valentine's Day with a beautiful woman is too good to be true, but he'd be damned if he were to spend it with Sofia of all people this afternoon

"Hell no.." Cedric scoffed thinking about this

In that moment, he notices the invitation letter that he was still holding and was about to toss it away – but then the words "Apple Pie" caught his attention, and it got him thinking

"Hmm.. perhaps I'll stop by for a minute or two.."

"Why'd you bring all that stuff, Amber. No wonder you took so long?"

"Oh shush James, today is Valentine's Day and I will show appreciation to my dear Prince Hugo with all of these chocolates"

"That's way too many, Amber. Can I have some?"

"NO!"

"Sheeesh, how stingy.." James scratched his head, taking offense in her statement

"What about you, Sof?" James turned to his other sister who was sitting on a corner watching them

"Are you giving a special someone chocolates as well?"

"I already have."

"You have?" James was taken aback from her response "But we haven't gotten to school yet?

Sofia glances outside of the coach and watched the clouds pass by

"I know."
