Joe's pov

Doc was helping me make a lot of progress three months into weekly sessions with him, and I felt more apt to be there for my kids by the day. Speaking of day, today was their first day of school since moving to New York City. Interestingly enough, and perhaps a good sign, the most nervous out of the five of us was me. Emily spoke up

"Daddy, it'll be ok. And, if for some reason it's not, you can fix it. I'm not worried. Boys?"

That prompted Jojo, Dan and Will to nod, and I could tell it was genuine

"Yeah. Ice cream and cuddles after?"

Hugging all four of them close to me, I nodded

"Absolutely. And piecakies. Can't forget those."

They licked their lips, eyes shining

"YUM!"

After a very cozy and delicious breakfast, I helped them get ready and dropped them off in their classroom. They even got to give me a little tour of the class, but even Em, who liked to cling to me, was ready to let go and play with the blocks and a few new classmates that had arrived. Her brothers soon followed her lead, but not before all four gave me hugs and kisses goodbye. I was so happy that they seemed to have less separation anxiety than I did on my first day of school.

A few hours later, they had nothing but rave reviews of their classmates, their teacher, and the snacks and toys at their disposal, and I took it all in, smiling and talking with them as we got our fill of our favorite ice cream and Pop's piecakies. One more seamless transition and milestone in the books for mine and Tay's babies. Yes, babies. I know they're seven already, but they're. Still. My. Babies. They're growing up fast enough as it is.
