Danny's pov

The Sarge had given Maria, my sister and myself our first case as partners. First official case, that is, as we had solved Jess's disappearance together. He hesitated

"I am a bit nervous about assigning you three to this particular case... But I trust you both to keep Detective Daniel Reagan from going full on... Daniel Reagan."

At that, I spoke up

"It's not like I ever swirlied anyone violently!... That didn't deserve it."

Sarge shook his head with a hint of laughter and went on

"This case has to do with the sudden disappearance of a Marine vet. Late 70's, two tours in 'Nam. Sergeant Kinney went AWOL three days ago. No known family, neighbors are getting worried."

I nodded, head already back in Fallujah, voices in the room starting to fade. Realizing as such, my sister and Maria grabbed my arms, grounding me back. Anchoring me. We gathered all the Intel given by the neighbors, then set off to go visit them ourselves. Our AWOL Vet had been awarded the Purple Heart, fallen behind enemy lines and survived... Only to come back and have this happen. Not if we could help it. Not if I could help it. Semper Fi. I could tell my partners already knew I was going to be ten times worse than a dog after a bone, but, then again, I had valid reasons, and they were just as committed. They just did not know the first hand feeling that was so familiar to me. Knowing this case could take a few days, we decided to start canvassing the areas he frequented.

Jamie's pov

Both Eddie and Laurie were 7 months along, Laurie carrying the fifth generation of the Reagan clan. Eddie was expecting twins of the fourth generation, who we decided to name Eric Frances and Maryella Jane. Laurie, for her part, was inaugurating the fifth generation of Reagans with Connor Joseph, Starla Jean and Dustin James. The four of us were catching up on our day off, hoping for an uneventful, restful, relaxing day. Well, that's wishful thinking with the luck of the Irish... A few minutes later, Laurie gasped

"My water broke! I'm not even scheduled for induction until next week!"

Nervously chuckling, Joe spoke

"Ultimately, it's up to the kids, Love. Jamie, do you mind giving me a hand while we wait for a bus?"

After placing the request for said bus, I nodded

"Of course. I'm so excited for you both."

They nodded in thanks, and I got ready to step in. Right when I was starting to help, having done this before, I heard my Eddie groan in pain

"Jamie... Eric and Maryella want to join in on the fun. But it's not that fun on my end right now..."

A rush of adrenaline cursed through my body as I placed an order for an additional bus and alerted our families, along with Fire Commissioner Rourke, Laurie's father. It was go time.

Earlier that day, Peter's pov

I was enjoying a day with my Lara Jean, even though her adorable little sister Kitty decided to crash our date at the end of it, wanting to watch the movie with us and spend time with both of us. We did not mind that much. We both enjoyed Kitty's company, plus she was instrumental in us getting together in the first place. A while later, we met up with our friends Chris and Trevor for a double date at the Corer Cafe diner, a popular hangout of ours. The waitress, Joan, is super nice, and really easy to talk to. She also gives good advice when we need it, and makes a point of asking us about our days and knowing our favorite orders.

LJ and I were talking with Joan about her new grandbaby and seeing the pictures her daughter had sent when Chris and Trevor approached, immediately gawking over the pictures as well. Soon we had our orders at our table and began mingling. Chris asked

"So, Peter; your aunt and cousin are due soon, right?"

I nodded

"Two months out, but, since they're both having multiples, the babies will come earlier anyway. I think Cousin Laurie isgetting induced for the twins next week."

The girls squealed

"That's so exciting!"

I nodded, smiling

"Yep. That's the fifth generation on my Mom's side..."

My Dad wasn't around often, and was an only child; so, my Mom's side of the family is pretty much all I have, but I have a LOT of relatives on her side. I loved my huge family, even if privacy is not in their vocabulary. Gives me an excuse to not have it in mine. I spent a few hours with LJ and our friends before heading home.

Nighttime, 3rd person pov

By 23:00 hours, five healthy babies had been added and welcomed into the crazy mess of love that was the Reagan clan, and all the babies were healthy and cute as can be, much to everone's relief. Suffice to say, the coddling family members had to be forcibly escorted out, one doting relative at a time.
