Peter's pov
I was having the best afternoon, having had a picnic with Lara Jean in Central Park. We then went back to her place to watch some movies, one of our favorite date rituals. Since my Jeep was in the shop, I was walking back to my place on foot, which, with a family that handed out pepper spray like candy, wasn't intimidating or worrisome at all. But today would give me something to worry about. It was starting to get dark, courtesy of an approaching storm, and I dashed into a nearby pizza joint to wait out the thick of the rain. That is where my mistake lied. Like a spidey-sense of some sort, I felt someone creep up behind me, but, before I could react, a hard object collided with the back of my skull, and I was out cold.
Storm Slayer's pov
I couldn't believe I'd hit such a jackpot! I had been convicted by the Manhattan ADA, Erin Reagan, for my many kidnap-and-kill sprees in the area, and she had big plans to nail me to the wall. So, it seems stupid for me to kidnap again, right? Perhaps. But this is her son, so now I held the power. One oopsie-daisy of my finger and I put a bullet through his head. Surely she would at least listen to me. As the kid was still knocked out, I did the usual setup. Bright light on his face, tied and chained to a chair in front of a camera. Then I pressed record and began the ransom video
"Hey, ADA Reagan. Storm Slayer here. Our upcoming date, the... trial... Surely we can postpone indefinitely, or you can set me free, right? Because if you don't, well... I'll just have to add another mark on my kill list. Your own son. Don't bother tracing this video,I'm bouncing the signal off of every cell tower in the continent. Exonerate me if you ever want to see your son alive again. Oh, and another thing... don't count on him defending himself or escaping once he wakes up. I gave him a little cocktail that'll keep him in pain, disoriented and submissive til I give the antidote. AFTER my exoneration. Pleasure doing business with you. You have 48 hours until he dies from the cocktail."
And with that, I sent the video off.
