The Reagan clan had gathered around the table after Mass once again, chatting happily until Nicky tapped on her glass, making all present fall silent, save for her father

"Are you and Ricky expecting again?"

She shook her head

"No. But I DO have an announcement. My job just is not as fulfilling as it used to be, I quit a few days ago. And... I enrolled in the New York City Police Academy!"

Once the group had broken out of their stupor from the definitely unexpected news, they flocked around the young woman, hugging and congratulating her. Her oldest cousin was the one who spoke next

"Which unit are you hoping for?"

She smiled

"Patrol, boots on the ground. Oh, and another member for the Special Stealth Response Forces Unit, if you ever need me."

Joe and the other cops at the table spoke in unison

"Awesome. Sounds perfect."

In about two years' time, she would be joining the NYPD, as much as a surprise that it was for her family, it was a welcome one. In the meantime, Peter and Lara Jean's best friends from high school were due to visit from Costa Rica in a few days, gearing up for a wild reunion a few years in the making, even if the two couples Skyped often, though not as much as LJ and Chris and Peter and Trevor spoke between each other.

The day had finally arrived, and Covey and I were waiting at the airport for Chris and Trev. Evie, Dallas and Austin were at our house, where Chris and Trevor were also going to be spending the week, but my Mom was watching them at the moment, allowing us to go welcome our friends. I'm brought out of my thoughts by a squeal that most certainly belonged to Chris, who had, to a lot of people's surprise, become an English as a second language teacher, while Trevor was actually a professional lacrosse player for the new team in Costa Rica. The two of them have always been the spontaneous type. The four of us shared a hug, then broke off, Trevor grabbing me in a man hug while Chris and Covey clung to each other for dear life. This week was sure gearing up to be a lot of fun. We arrived home laughing our heads off at nothing in particular, enjoying each other's company, only brought back to the present when Evie, Dallas and Austin jumped on our visitors, who they had gotten to know over various Skype chats and stories

"Auntie Chris! Uncle Trev!"

Immediately forgetting us, our high school friends fawned over our kids, the start of a wonderful visit.
