Title: Bookworm
Author: badly-knitted
Characters: Ianto, Jack, Owen, Nosy
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 309 – The Library at tw100
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Everyone loves a good book – even fluffy aliens!
Disclaimer: I don't own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: I think this is my seventh drabble for this prompt...
.
I love Janto: And yet somehow they never seem to learn...
Ianto has good sense, he manages to escape the madness for a bit, but at least Jack can trust him to come back with whatever they need to deal with the situation - story books, ice cream, toddler-sized clothes...
Jack knows who's boss ;)
Thank you!

Guest: They all come with their own problems - Gwen whines, throws tantrums when she can't get her way and keeps hitting Owen. Owen hits back, kicks and pulls her hair then sulks a lot, when he's not running around and sticking eveything he finds in his mouth or up his nose, just to see if it will fit. Tosh is into everything and asks endless questions even Jack doesn't know the answers to...
Who wouldn't? Jack is like the world's best fairground ride!
Hopefully I'll eventually get to see Arrow.
You're never too old to fangirl, it's one of the few pleasures that can be relied on as we get older. If older men are allowed to eye up younger women, what's wrong with us drooling over gorgeous guys?
Ugh, I SO hated that! Like showing some random cute guy at Jack would make up for him losing the man he loved and having to sacrifice his grandson. It turned the Doctor into some kind of intergalactic pimp, who obviously had no understanding of Jack as a person. It wasn't fair to Alonso either, he's just a rejected companion tossed at a man the Doctor sees as nothing more than an indiscriminate sex-addict, to be his plaything. Everything about that scene makes me cringe. It shows a lack of understanding not only of the characters but of the impact that loss and grief has on a person.
The great thing about the Dragon-Verse is that it is still ongoing. Well, one of the great things, the others being that it has stories set in the far future, Gwen getting what she deserves, and it fixes not just CoE but every other episode from the first one right up to the last (or will, when it is complete. At the moment it's up to 'Meat', although the CoE re-write is already posted and brilliant. And it has a Dragon! Dragons make everything better =)
I'm lucky I have a high tolerance for pain. There are worse pains - cracked ribs for instance. Now that REALLY hurts!
I know how to spell most things, however I am a one-finger typist and quite often I hit two keys together, or just the wrong one. I try to correct mistakes as they happen, but I don't always notice, lol! Sorry to hear your cat can't spell ;)
Yes, we are not the oldest. The Guest reviewer below is also ahead of us! Does my heart good to know there are so many fans in their fifties - We Rock!

Dibart (Guest): Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy the drabbles!
Yes, that's the main reason I didn't watch Miracle Day. I could see it happening during CoE, RTD trying to make Gwen the one who knew everything while masking Jack useless. I couldn't stand to see a character I love being destroyed like that. I read synopses of the episodes of MD, it was depressing. Suddenly Gwen could everything better than anyone else and Jack was a shadow of his former self, reduced to a supporting character. It was just so wrong! He's the star of the show, not Gwen.
Welcome to the gang! Doctor Who has been a big part of all our lives. It's amazing that it has lasted so long, and yet at the same time, it's not surprising. It really is the perfect science fiction show, because it CAN go on forever, just by having the Doctor regenerate. Such a brilliant idea! Here's to many more years so we can keep enjoying it.

"Right," said Ianto, "I'm off to the library, does anyone have any books to return?"
"I do!" yelled Jack, scrambling to fetch his books. "I've got a book reserved too. Just came in, could you collect it for me please?" He gave Ianto his best puppy dog eyes as he handed over his books and library card.
"No problem, Cariad."
Nosy hurriedly slithered over, its toy cart laden with books.
"Hummmm?"
"Yes, Nosy, I'll get you some more books."
"Hang on, Nosy has a library card?" Owen was stunned.
"Of course it does," Ianto smirked. "Under the name Neil Ayson."

A/N: Confused by Nosy's alias? Try reading it backwards ;)
