CHAPTER 3
Luffy look out from his office window. He become successful businessman under the alias of Mughiwara. He just graduate in master from the Raftel University with his best friend Zoro. He manage to built empire 2 years before he graduate. His company being manage by his older crew, Jimbei and Brook. His other crew consist of Nami the accountant, Ussop the store manager, Sanji the cook and owner of their restaurant, Chopper a doctor of their clinic, Robin his secretary, Franky the technical engineer in his company, Brook the musician and owner of their music store acting as vice president, and Jimbei the chief of staff and acting as the president before Luffy officially taking over. Chopper is the youngest of his crew but already graduate in doctorate 2 years before Luffy recruit him. He is a genius after all. The vice president is Zoro. He hold back for a years because he involve in the fight at the University before he meet Luffy.
Looking back how Luffy built his company, he manage to convinced Zoro to become shareholder and partner of his company. As they lack of experience and staff, they meet Nami that searching for a job and manage to convince her to be their accountant. Usopp joined after when Luffy drag him after he discovered Luffy secret company. Both of them promise not to tell secret about Luffy company to their family. Sanji joined next and their company expand toward cuisine profession. Sanji manage to open up restaurant and become the first base of their company. Luffy take interest in Chopper when he come to their university as a lecturer and offer him to built his own clinic. Both Luffy and Zoro invest in the clinic and Chopper manage to sold organic medicine that he invented with cheap price and very effective. As time goes by, he manage to recruit Robin, a former member of Crocodile company that have talent in gathering information and wide knowledge. As Robin joined the crew, the manage to rent a place as their office. Not long after that he meet Franky, the engineer. With his by their side, Luffy manage to buy a land to built his office and expanding the building by build restaurant, clinic, music store, store, and dojo. The restaurant manage by Sanji with the help of Nami, the clinic manage by Chopper with the help of Robin, music store manage by Brook, store manage by Usopp with the help of Franky, and dojo manage by Zoro with the help of Brook. Jimbei and Robin manage the main office while Brook manage the dojo while Zoro still study at the University.
A knock making Luffy turned toward the door. He asked them to come in.
"Luffy, we all here. What important thing you want to discuss?" Nami asked. Luffy just blink his eyes.
"Where Zoro?" Luffy asked when he didn't saw his best friend there.
"That marimo!" Sanji fumed angry and walk out to search Zoro. Luffy just laughed out loud.
After a while, the noise making other sweat drop while Luffy continue laughing.
"You told me to go left." Zoro said.
"That is right, marimo. All of us already waiting for you and you decide to get lost in the office." Sanji replied back.
"Stupid curly brow. You the one given the wrong direction." Zoro huffed. Chopper run toward Zoro and drag him into Luffy room before both of them engage in their fight.
"Shishishi... Zoro is an idiot." Luffy said making other sweat drop.
"You are the same as him." Nami said while smacking Luffy back head.
"So, what's important?" Robin asked after they all taking their seat. Luffy looked toward Zoro. Zoro seem to understand Luffy mind.
"Are you sure?" Zoro asked making other confused. Luffy nod.
"It's up to you, captain." Zoro added.
"So may we know what it is all about?" Jimbei asked.
"Well, it is about time for me and Zoro to take over. But we don't want to do it now. Maybe few month later as we need to tell my parent about all of this. Usopp you need to tell about it to your dad also. We decide to tell them before we officially taking over." Luffy explained.
"That's good idea. It's about time for both of you taking over." Jimbei agreed.
"There's a but? Isn't it?" Robin interrupted. Luffy nod.
"We want to invite all of you over to my parent house to tell about it. It's better for you all there." Luffy replied.
"I think it is better for us to go. I don't trust these two to explain all of it." Nami said.
"You have a point Nami-chan. Robin-chan can help you also." Sanji said. The other nod agree.
"Thank you, minna." Luffy said with a big smile.
After all of them out from Luffy room, Luffy continue look out to the ocean. He remember how he meet his parent figure and a lady that he first called his mother.
Flashback...
At the Saboady Archipelago...
"Luffy don't go too far. You three take care of him. I got work to do at the other side. Make sure he doesn't do anything stupid." Garp ordered his men to take care of Luffy.
"Yes sir." The three men salute to him. Garp wake away after Luffy still busy playing with beetle.
Luffy getting bored for a while and decide to explore. The three men follow him making Luffy annoyed. He run away after the three men didn't realize his presence. He run until he arrive at a coffee shop. A few children playing at the backyard of the coffee house.
"Can I play?" Luffy asked with enthusiasm.
The other kids stop playing and look at him. Their reaction making Luffy realize that they didn't want anyone to play with them. Luffy just stay smiling until one of the kid told him that they didn't want to play with him. After that the kids leave him to play somewhere else. The smile on Luffy face disappeared. He look down. He always been here and there with his grandfather and his grandfather's men always been his babysitter. He know most of kids thinks that he is some rich kid that always need be guarded. A noise from behind making him turned toward the source.
"Who are you?" Luffy asked curiously. The woman sat on the wheelchair just look at him.
"Hi, my name is Luffy! Who are you? Can we be friend?" Luffy said with enthusiasm.
"Why you want to be friend with me?" the lady asked.
"Well do you have one?" Luffy asked ending with 'duh' making the lady surprised. The lady smile a little.
"You know, I am the same as your mother boy. Where your parent?" the lady asked again.
"Do I have one? I always live with my grandpa." Luffy answered while tilted his head. The lady shocked to hear his answer.
"Do you know your father?" The lady asked again. Luffy shake his head.
"Your mother?" the lady try again. Luffy shake his head again.
"What is mother?" Luffy asked.
"A women that give birth to you and love you. Bring you to the park, to the school, holding your hand and hug you." The lady explain to him. Luffy just look at her while try to digest all the information.
"Are you a mother?" Luffy asked with innocent.
"Yes, I am." The lady answered with a proud kind tone making Luffy widen his eyes. He feel something warmth inside him making him look at the lady with determination.
"Can you be my mother?" Luffy asked making the lady shocked. She look at Luffy cute face. She smiled. She really impress with Luffy determination.
"Rouge. Call me mama Rouge." Rouge replied making Luffy widen his smile.
"Yahoo! I have a mother! Mama Rouge!" Luffy run toward her and hug her dearly. Rouge return his hug with a smile on her face.
Their action being watch by none other Shakky that looking for Rouge. A smile plaster on her face.
"Two are not enough, yet you happy with three. I hope you found you sons soon, Rouge." Shakky monologue. She walk toward them afterward.
Garp sit in front of the social worker office waiting for Makino to finish reading the file in front of her impatiently. He look out from the window and saw his only grandchild running here and there trying to catch the beetle flying toward the tree. A smile plaster on his face. A sighed from Makino making him turned back to her.
"Garp san, you know you in the difficult position now. You neglecting him while on duty. You make your men taking care of him, he always been caught stealing food from other store, your neighbour complain that you always leave him behind alone without anyone to babysit him. That's too dangerous, Garp san." Makino explained.
"Can you just turned your eyes blind on this? I don't want him to put into the system." Garp said.
"I'm sorry, Garp san. He need to. From what I observed these two week, he need a parent to take care of him. He still young." Makino said.
Garp become silent. He need to make decision what best for his grandchild. He sighed heavily.
Luffy run happily tried to catch the flying beetle until he accidentally bump into a man and fall down. He slowly stand up and saw two men standing in front of him. The man with red hair has straw hat on him and the other has a long black hair tie to the back with a cigarette on his mouth.
"Your okay?" the red hair man asked Luffy. Luffy just look at both men with his owlish eyes.
"Who are you?" Luffy asked with curiosity. Both men look at each other with wonder. A big smile plaster on the red hair man face.
"I'm Shanks." The red hair man said and introduce Ben to Luffy.
"You can visit him anytime, Garp san. You're his biological grandfather after all. I have the document in advance from the court for you, and they cannot prevent you from spending time with Luffy. But you don't have the right to taking care of Luffy until he turn 18. After he reach 18 years old, he can decide on his own to live with you, to live with his Foster parent, or t live on his own." Makino explained.
"Fine, I agreed. But one thing, I need to know who will be his Foster parent and they must can be reach each time I want to visit Luffy. If not you know I can bring this to the court." Garp said seriously.
Well this is the paperwork. If you have any inquiries or want to add anything just tell me." Makino handing Garp the paperwork.
Luffy walk into the house with excitement. He look toward the man and the lady that behind him with a wide smile. Both of them also smile happily for him. The man put the straw hat on Luffy's head.
"Welcome home Anchor!" Shanks said with a big smile on his face.
"I hope you like it." The lady said.
"Thank you, Shanks, Makino! I love you!" Luffy replied and hug both of them.
"Congrats, Luffy." Ben patted Luffy head.
"Uncle Ben!" Luffy shouted and hug Ben tightly.
"Not fair! You called him uncle and us just by name." Shanks pouted making Makino sweat drop to see him husband act.
"Uncle Ben is uncle Ben." Luffy answered ending his sentence with 'duh'.
"Luffy, you cannot call both of them name only from now on." Ben said.
"Why?" Luffy tilted his head. Shanks just resist from cooing looking at Luffy cute face. Makino just smile how adorable Luffy is.
"Both of them are your parent now. So, you must respect him just like you respect me by calling me uncle Ben." Ben answered. Luffy widen his eyes and making the 'o' sound. He turned toward Shanks and Makino.
"Then I can call them, mum and dad? Mama Rouge told me what parent are." Luffy said making Ben nod his head.
"Then... Can I called you mama Makino and papa Shanks?" Luffy said. Shanks and Makino surprised. Both of them smile and hug Luffy dearly.
"Of course you can." Makino replied. Luffy returned their hug.
Makino prepare some lunch for them while the other three sat on the dining table after prepare the dishes. As the four of them sit down and enjoying their lunch, Makino suddenly remember Luffy word back then. She stop eating and turned to Luffy.
"Luffy, who is mama Rouge?" Makino asked making Ben and Shanks also stop eating. As Luffy still swollow his food, he look at Makino. He also stop eating.
"Mama Rouge is mama Rouge." Luffy answered shortly earning a sweat drop from the three of them.
"No, that's not Makino asking." Shanks said.
"But mama Makino ask me about who mama Rouge. Mama Rouge is mama Rouge." Luffy answered. Shanks sighed.
"What Makino mean is where you meet mama Rouge." Ben interrupted.
"Oh... When grandpa taking me with him to this one place, I meet mama Rouge at one of the cafe." Luffy replied. Shanks and Ben look at each other.
"How this mama Rouge look like?" Shanks asked.
"Pretty!" Luffy answered proudly.
"Captain, better let him look at the picture." Ben suggested.
"Who's picture?" Makino asked.
"Remember I told you about my captain back then. We taught he and his wife died in accident but they only found one body. We asked Rayleigh about it but he just said they cannot find her body nor her son." Shanks said.
"Are you thinking the this mama Rouge is the one you searching for?" Makino said.
"Maybe. Luckily I have their photo in my wallet. Hold on I get my wallet first." Shanks stand up and bring back wallet with him. He pulled out an old photo from his wallet and give it to Luffy.
"Is the lady look like this?" Shanks pointed toward Rouge photo. Luffy stare at the pretty blond lady with freckles on her face in the photo.
"Mama Rouge hair is black."Luffy said making both men sighed. Luffy still look at the photo and suddenly he point toward a lady beside Rayleigh.
"Is this aunt Shakky? She still pretty!" Luffy said with awe making Shanks look toward Luffy again.
"You know Shakky?" Shanks asked.
"Aunt Shakky is the owner of the cafe. She is mama Rouge sister. I miss them." Luffy said.
"Luffy, do you know what the cafe name?" Ben asked.
"Rip-off!" Luffy answered.
"That's Shakky for you. Dahahaha!" Shanks laughed.
"Why do you asking about aunt Shakky and mama Rouge?" Luffy asked.
"Well, do you want to meet them?" Shanks asked making Luffy widen his eyes.
"Yes! I want to meet them. I want to tell them I live with you guys and tell them all about it." Luffy smile widely.
"Then, let Ben search their place first, then we can visit them together." Makino said.
"Thank you! I can meet mama Rouge again!" Luffy jump up and down with joy.
How Luffy become Shanks son?
Flashback...
Shanks always visit the Foosha Orphanage after he meet Makino while back. Makino become the caretaker of the orphanage after she transfer to this town. Luffy is the first child that capture Shanks heart making him always like to talk to Luffy about his adventures with his brother figure. Shanks sometimes accompanied by Ben and his two other friend, Lucky Roo and Yasopp. The relationship between them really close like a true family. This action caught Makino attention and few month later Shanks asked Makino hand for marriage. They manage to bring Luffy into their little family circle that make them feel complete.
As for Luffy nickname? Shanks gave it to him as he cannot swim when the orphanage have a trip to local swimming pool activities. He almost drown and Shanks save him from drowning. Until now Luffy still cannot learn how to swim. Most of the time, there will be someone to take care of Luffy if he go playing in the pool. We'll, most of the time... He really nearly drown. Because of that Shanks give him nickname 'Anchor' and stick until now.
