Chapter 12 Having A Very Merry Christmas

Time continued to pass on for the Winchesters at the bunker. Ever since returning from California, Dean and Sam balance their time with Adam and Charlie, visiting Gwen and Ava, celebrating Thanksgiving, their first one with both Adam and Charlie present and Castiel showing up too. Then they had one case the two weeks afterwards involving a historic southern plantation in Georgia involving the ghost of an evil slave master and his overseer and the good spirits of some slaves who aided them and spending more time with their girlfriends and soon enough Christmas came around. Madame Bess true to her word, invited all of them to come up for Christmas insisting they spent a few days giving Sam more time to spend time with Gwen and she even insisted Castiel come along who accepted the invitation.

Of course, Ava wouldn't be joining them as she was going to be celebrating the holiday at her parents' home which was expected but she invited Dean to come over to her place after spending Christmas at Madame Bess's to finally meet her parents and spend time getting to know them better and vice versa and Dean accepted. So, when Christmas Eve came, they all had packed their things including the presents they all bought for one another and were draped in winter coats, hats, and gloves etc. Castiel appeared on cue since instead of driving all the way up there in the cold weather, he was going to transport everybody to Madame Bess' house which would make things so much easier although he made it clear that he wasn't going to be a habit of being their personal taxi.

It was getting close to evening and was time to be going, so everybody just grabbed a hold of Castiel while holding all their packed things and within seconds they were no longer in the bunker but standing outside Madame Bess' house where there was snow everywhere and the weather was quite cold as all of them were feeling the cold weather except Castiel who didn't feel cold or hot like humans do. Sam looked around to see if anybody noticed a group of people just appearing out of nowhere but to their luck, nobody seemed to have noticed as it was near the evening anyway and was quite dark outside.

The driveway had a clear path despite the snow due to the shoveling that was done and they all walked up the driveway and was on the porch and Sam ranged the doorbell. Madame Bess greeted them at the door letting them in and gave all of them a hug even Castiel. Gwen showed up from the kitchen where she had been helping her grandmother cook dinner and she looked great in her long-sleeve blue velvet blouse and black dress pants and wearing nice jewelry. Her dark wavy hair was styled nicely, and she wore makeup including red lipstick and matching nail polish. Sam was taken aback but he always was whenever he saw her and it was clear she went out of her way to look nice for him.

"Gwen, it's great seeing you, you look terrific" he told her as they soon went up to each other embraced then gave each other a kiss on the lips for a couple of seconds not caring who was watching while the others just stared on smirking.

Sam didn't even care that he got some of Gwen's lipstick on his lips and they soon stopped kissing and glared at each other.

"It's so great that you could come for this special day, it means so much to us" Gwen told him.

"Same here" Sam replied.

Then Gwen glanced at the others and walked over to greet them too.

"It's so great that all of you could come for Christmas, we are so happy to have you all here, Merry Christmas everybody" she told them as she hugged Dean, Adam and Charlie.

"Merry Christmas to you two, and we wouldn't miss this for the world, and to get some nice home-cooking" Dean replied.

"Well, you all can just hang up your coats in the closet and me and Gwen here will take your gifts and put them under the Christmas tree" said Madame Bess.

They did just that as both Madame Bess and Gwen took all the presents that they brought with them and placed them under the Christmas tree with the other presents which none of them would open until the next day. The Christmas tree was quite beautiful, it was bigger than their Christmas tree back at the bunker, with lots of decorations and Christmas lights wrapped around them and on top was a nice bright star. They all couldn't help but to admire it as Madame Bess and Gwen must have taking a lot of effort to set it up and decorate it.

Afterwards, Madame Bess led them into the living room and chatted with them a bit while the food was cooking and then she headed back into the kitchen to finish up with the dinner, while Sam and Gwen went off in another room for privacy to spend a romantic alone time together and Dean, Adam, Charlie and Castiel just sat in the living room to watch some TV namely a football game. Even Castiel who wasn't used to watching sports was starting to get into it although he often asked questions about the game and Dean had to keep explaining to him about certain details. Time seemed to fly by quickly as in no time, dinner was ready and everybody headed to the dining room as Madame Bess seated everybody making sure Sam and Gwen sat next to each other and then served their Christmas dinner which was turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, turnips and a glass of punch.

Madame Bess sat at the head of the table and insisted they on saying grace before there dinner since it was Christmas Eve afterall. Afterwards, they all dug in including Castiel despite the fact that he didn't need food or drink but he actually enjoyed the dinner as it reminded him of the Thanksgiving dinner he had with the Winchesters at the bunker. They all enjoyed their dinner and afterwards, Madame Bess served them their dessert, pumpkin pie with whip cream on top. After everybody was finished, Madame Bess and Gwen collected the dishes and headed to the kitchen to wash them while the rest of them went back to the living room to watch some more TV. When Madame Bess and Gwen were finished in the kitchen, they joined them and soon they all just started talking and laughing like a happy family.

Sam and Gwen once again left the room to get some alone time together while the others continued their talking and Madame Bess wanting to follow her own tradition insisted on playing a game of cards while the others reluctantly agreed but in time they started enjoying themselves. As the hours passed by, in no time was getting late and everybody prepared for bed. Madame Bess directed everybody where they would sleep. Sam would naturally share the bedroom with Gwen like he did before whenever he stayed there, Dean and Adam got to share the first guest room, Charlie got the second one and Castiel didn't need a bedroom as he didn't sleep would just watch over everybody for the entire night. Dean and Adam both felt awkward sharing the king-sized bed but managed to get to sleep, Sam and Gwen made love until they fell asleep in each other's arms while Charlie just peacefully slept in her on bedroom which she had to herself.

As for Castiel, he just remained downstairs, watching the Christmas with the lights blinking on and off and he looked outside and saw how peaceful it was outside with snow everywhere and bright lights in different houses as Christmas decorations and he just felt a calmness as stayed there all night. The next morning was Christmas and Madame Bess got everybody up except Castiel who was already up and they all headed downstairs as Castiel greeted them all. Sam, Dean and Adam had put on their pants and shirts before going downstairs and Gwen and Charlie were still in their pajamas wearing bathrobes over them. As with tradition, Madame Bess thought it was a good time for them to all open their present before their breakfast so none of them wasted anytime and grabbed the presents that had their name on it and tore the wrapping paper open.

Sam got new wallet from Gwen, a book on the spiritual afterlife from Madame Bess, a horror novel from Dean, an aftershave from both Adam and Charlie and a heaven calendar from Castiel. In fact, Castiel gave everybody a heaven calendar as he didn't know what else to give them. Dean to got plenty of gifts he liked such as a new porn DVD of his favorite porn star from Adam and Charlie, a nice winter sweater in his size both from Madame Bess and Gwen and a new smartwatch from Sam. The others also got nice presents, Adam got a new hoodie, a sci-fi novel, a bookmark with his name inscribed and Charlie got a snow globe, a new video game of her favorite heroine, a novel by her favorite author, even Castiel got some gifts like amulet necklace, a miniature angel statue, a voyager compass map which was from the Winchester brothers. Madame Bess got a nice pair of ear rings from Gwen and a nice crystal ball from the Winchesters and Charlie even though they didn't know if she would ever use it for her psychic abilities but just though it was a cool gift to give to a medium. Madame Bess didn't care as she treasured every gift.

After they got all their gifts and thanked everybody, they all headed upstairs to get washed up and change leaving their gifts. It took a while as there was only one hall bathroom upstairs and no one asked to use Madame Bess's bathroom in her bedroom except Gwen so Sam to get the bathroom after Charlie was finished with her shower. After they all got dressed, they then went to the dining room to get eat their breakfast since the kitchen table was too small. They all had a pancakes and sausages along with orange juice. After breakfast, they all just hung around the house as Madame Bess and Gwen cleaned up. There wasn't much to do but watch TV in the living room and Sam and Gwen used the opportunity to get some alone time by stepping out of the room.

By the early afternoon, feeling kind of restless, Madame Bess encouraged them all to get out of the house as she prepared for dinner suggesting Gwen to take to them the park and later after dinner drive around the other parks to look at the Christmas lights. Gwen agreed and everybody grabbed their coats and hats and gloves, and they all headed out the front door except Castiel who volunteered to remain behind, and Madame Bess had him assist her around the house. Gwen drove the others in her car and lucky for them the roads were clear despite snow all around and they drove up to Irvine Park the same park Sam and Gwen hung out at the first time he visited her. The Park looked quite different in the winter. The big fountain was now covered in snow and had icicles hanging instead of the flow of water. There was snow all on the grass and even in the benches although there were some people sitting on them, but the place wasn't as crowded now since it was Christmas and the gang just walked around area with Gwen leading the way. They even managed to find the gazebo that Sam and Gwen hung out in on their very first date, but it was now also covered with snow a bit.

Soon they were back at where the fountain was. Sam and Gwen decided to sit in one of the benches brushing off all the snow while the others just walked around on the snow covering the grass. The two of them just cuddled on the bench to get warm a bit enjoying the view and spending time together.

"You know this is the best Christmas I ever had, I mean I get to spend it with you and all of you guys here we get to share it with you all, something me and grandmom hadn't had in a long time" Gwen said as she and Sam just cuddled up together facing each other.

"Yeah, me too Gwen, I'm really enjoying this Christmas much better than the ones in the past. I'm glad I got to spend this with you too" he told her.

"I'm glad your brothers, Charlie and even Castiel are also enjoying themselves, we really wanted to make very special for you all as it is for us, like a happy family, because that's what all of you to us, like family" she told him.

Sam just smiled at the thought of family and made him think about what he and Dean have with all of the people close to them, not just Adam, Charlie, Castiel and their girlfriends but all the people in their lives past and present. Just then they heard some sounds and when they both turned around, they saw Dean, Adam and Charlie engaging in a snow fight right in the in park like a trio of kids laughing and running about as they threw snow at one or another or tried to dodge a snowball.

"Guys, really" cried out Sam although he was laughing too.

"Hey, there is no shame in a little snow fight is there" Dean said while throwing a snowball that nearly hit Charlie.

"Come on, guys you're not kids anymore" Sam said.

"Hey, who said snow fights has to be just for kids, besides we can all be kids at heart, lighten up Sam don't be such an old fuddy duddy" Dean replied while trying to dodge the snowball that Adam hurled at him.

Sam and Gwen just laughed as they just watched their little childish snow fight.

"Let them be, they're just having fun. I there's no shame and being a little silly and goofy once in a while, I know we've been occasionally" Gwen reminded him.

"Yeah, I guess" Sam just sighed then the two of them turned back to face each other.

"Now, where were we?" asked her.

"Hmm, exactly where were we?" she asked him with sexy grin on her face.

"They're having their play time, why don't we have ours" Sam said in a sexy tone and then leaned over to Gwen and the two engaged in nice passionate kiss.

Just then, snowball hit Sam in the back of the head and another one hit Gwen. They turned back around to see that the trio were now facing them.

"Hey, what's the big idea" cried out Sam.

"Well, we don't think there's any reason you guys can't join in the fun, how about you two lovebirds take a break from your love nest and join in" Dean told grinning.

Sam shook his head.

"No, we'll sit this one out" he told him.

"Hey, you're no fun, come on guys, we haven't had this much fun since we've been here" Adam told them.

"Yeah guys, join in or unless you're both afraid we will kick your ass" Charlie teased.

Sam just grinned back knowing what they were doing which was trying to bait them.

"Hey, unlike you guys we are way beyond such childish games we'll leave the playtime for you all kiddies" Sam replied but his comment just encouraged them to egg them on even further.

Soon all three of them started hurling snowballs at them some more.

"Hey, knock it off" cried out Sam.

"Why don't you make us by joining in" cried out Adam who then hurled another snowball but this time Sam ducked in it missed him.

"Cool it guys, I mean it" said Sam getting a bit annoyed but Gwen seemed amused the whole time.

"Make us!" cried out Charlie as they kept throwing snowballs as both Sam and Gwen tried to duck.

"This is getting so ridiculous, I swear" Sam replied to Gwen.

"Hey, it's not so ridiculous, I could use a bit it of fun too, haven't had a good snowball fight since I was a kid" she told him.

"Oh, no, don't tell me you'll up for this childish game" Sam told her.

"Hey, like Dean said we're all kids at heart, come on" she told him and before he knew it Gwen got up and ran to where the others were and picked up some snow making a nice snowball and hurled it at Dean who managed to dodge it.

Then she turned to Sam and trying to coax him to join in.

"Come on Sam, this is great" she said.

"Really Gwen, you're as bad as them" he told her.

Then Gwen picked up another snowball and hurled it at Sam and managed to hit him. "Don't be a such a old fuddy-duddy come on" she replied then picked up another snowball from the ground and threw it at Sam who barely managed to dodge it and that was it. He then decided to give in up and grabbed some snow and made a snowball and started throwing it at Gwen who it. Then he grabbed some more and hurled them at Dean, Adam, Charlie and back at Gwen again while dodging getting hit by flying snowballs sometimes unsuccessful while the few people out there just sat on the park benches staring curiously at the group of adults engaging in a snow fight like a group of kids.

By that late afternoon they were back at the house and Dean phoned up Ava to wish her a Merry Christmas putting his phone on speaker so everybody could hear and take turns speaking to her. He vowed he be there the next day to spend time with her and finally meet her parents and she couldn't wait for him to be there. After the conversation was over, he hung up and then later that evening, they had their Christmas dinner which was leftovers from the previous night. After dinner, and Madame Bess and Gwen cleaned up in the kitchen, later that evening, they all decided to go out again drive through the parks and check out the Christmas lights. This time they all went and squeezed inside the car, since the seven of them couldn't all fit inas Madame Bess was driving, Gwen was in the passenger's seat with the rest in the back seat, Castiel decided to just meet them there at the park. He could have transported all of them but Madame Bess just wanted to do it the old-fashioned way and drive them there so Castiel transported to their destination and they drove up there.

It didn't take too long for them to get to one of the parks and they got out to see the huge trees covered in some snow and bright Christmas lights and was quite a sight. Castiel was there standing by one of the trees just looking and when he saw them, he waved for them to come over and soon they were all standing near the trees admiring the lights and walking around area. They would drive to a few other parks that had Christmas lights on the large trees and admire the view with Castiel getting there first to greet them. They would walk around the area and admire the bright lights and after enough time had passed they eventually returned to the house with Castiel greeting them inside the home. Then they watched another Christmas movie in the living room and once again Sam and Gwen stepped out of the room for alone time together kissing in the hall near the front door.

"I wish we had some mistletoe" she replied as they stopped kissing for a while.

"We don't need any mistletoe" Sam replied and the two started kissing again.

When it got pretty late, they all once again headed upstairs for bed except for Castiel who once again remained downstairs just to keep watch. The day after Christmas was to be the end of all of them together at Madame Bess's house. Castiel was going to transport Adam and Charlie back to the bunker while Sam would remain behind to spend a few more days at the house with Gwen. Dean was planning to spend a few days with Ava at her parents house and Castiel was going to transport him there first then come back for the others. After they had their breakfast, they spent the rest of the morning together once last time then they all packed their things and were dressed in their coats and hats. Madame Bess even gave them some extra bags that she always saves for them to carry their presents. Madame Bess gave Dean a hug and Gwen gave him a nice kiss on the cheek saying their goodbyes. He then said his goodbyes to the others and promised to phone them occasionally.

"Well, this is it guys, boy never thought I will have to meet the parents, I feel like I'm in one of those cheesy chick flicks" Dean replied feeling like a nervous teenager meeting his girlfriend's parents for the first time.

"Hey, you'll do alright, I'm sure they'll like you" Sam reminded.

"Yeah, I'm mean your Dean Winchester afterall, what's not to like" Charlie reminded him.

"They're right bro, hang in there" Adam added.

"Well, I'm sure they will adore you just like we all do, just be your sweet charming self" Madame Bess remined.

"What they all said sums it up for me" was all that Castiel said.

"Thanks guys, I feel better" Dean said.

"Then again, they could be total jerks who hate anybody their daughter brings home and make your life a living hell" Adam said in a sarcastic tone as Sam and Charlie just nudge his shoulder out of tad annoyance.

"Yeah, thanks there Adam" Dean said feeling a bit nervous again.

"Hey, don't listen to him, he's just teasing, you'll be fine, from what you told us Ava said her parents are good and fair-minded folks, I'm sure you'll be able to win them over in no time" Sam said.

"Thanks bro, I think I'm ready now to be going Cas" he told him.

They all said their goodbyes again as Castiel went over to Dean, placed a hand on his shoulder as he waved goodbye to the group once again and within seconds, they both vanished.
