Chapter 34 Another Winchester Valentine's Day Part 2
Sam and Gwen finally arrived at their destination, a nice restaurant downtown as Gwen had to give Sam directions on where to do. When they entered the building, they see it's a bit of fancy place with people dressing a bit more formally and dance floor although nobody was dancing but all sitting down eating and chatting as nice music placed on. After waiting about a minute, the hostess greets them and leads them to a table before leaving. Before they sit down, Sam helps Gwen out of her coat and helps to removes her scarf, hat and gloves. He's stunned to see her dressed in a blue long-sleeve, knee-length evening dress with a rectangle neckline that barely shows her cleavage. On the left side of her hair, was a matching blue flower hair comb pulled back and she had a nice pearl necklace although fake. Sam just stared at her in amazement as if he was seeing her for the first time.
"Wow, now I said that you looked great before, but you really do look amazing" he told her. "Thank you, Sam," she told him as he handed her back her coat and she placed them along with her hat, scarf and gloves and she hanged her coat over her seat and placed the other items on the floor nearby. Then Sam took off his coat, hat etc. and this time it was her turn to look amazed.
"I have to say Sam, you look pretty good too, I mean stunning is the word" she told him as he just had a bashful look on this face.
After hanging his coat on his seat, the two of them sat down with Sam letting Gwen sit down first. They picked up the menus to see what they would like, and Sam noticed that the price was a bit costly, but Gwen insisted she will pay her own way and order something cheaper. When the waitress came, Sam let Gwen order first, then he took his order, and they waited a little over fifteen minutes for their food. They then ate their dinner enjoying their meal as they talked and laughed about the day and just about anything they could think of the keep the conversation interesting. After they finished their meal, Gwen was still not ready to leave and when next music started playing, she was ready to dance and had to drag Sam on the dance floor.
Sam reluctantly went with her and soon they were standing in the middle of the dance floor dancing together enjoying the flow of the music. It didn't matter that they were the only two dancing at the time as they had their eyes only on each other and nobody else mattered. Sam was pretty good despite not being a good dancer as Gwen just guided him, and soon he even twirled her around. When the music was over, he gave her a nice dip and when they looked around, they were surprised to see that at least two other couples got up and danced too. They decided to take a break and sit down for a while and ordered asked for more drinks from the waitress. Sam was so caught up in the romantic atmosphere that he decided this was the right time to ask Gwen about that big step in their relationship that he had promised he would, he thought about most of the day, but he needed the right time and here it was.
He turned to look at Gwen as she was taking another sip of her drink. "Gwen, you know, I think this is the perfect time to talk with you about something very important" he told her.
Gwen just looked at him with curiosity. "What is it, Sam?" she asked him.
Sam just swallowed looking kind nervous as they looked straight at her.
"You know Gwen, things have changed a bit ever since Ava moved in the bunker with us, I mean I was a bit scared at first, but I can see how much she and Dean are so happy under the same roof together and change can be a good thing sometimes, Ava is really right for him" he told her.
"Yes, I know, I spoke to Ava earlier this afternoon before we went to ice skating rink, she tells me every time we talk how much she loves being there, doesn't mind having you all under the same roof with her just as long as she's with Dean. I'm so happy for them and that reminds me I have to call her soon maybe tomorrow" Gwen told him.
"Yeah, but my point is that Dean and Ava's situation has made me think a lot about us" Sam said still looking like a nervous teenager.
"Us, what about us?" Gwen asked even more curious.
Sam just swallowed again and reached out to take Gwen's hand. "I mean it's made me think about our relationship and where would like it to head" he replied as Gwen's eyes lit up as she sensed where this was going.
"I thought about this for a while now and I felt tonight, being Valentine's Day and all was the perfect time to bring this up, but do you remember when we said when the time is right, we will talk about where we want this relationship to go" he went on.
"Yes Sam" Gwen said a bit excited.
"Well, I just know my feelings for you that I love you" Sam said.
"Yes, Sam and love you" Gwen told him right back her eyes looking intense.
"Yeah, and when two people love each other they're ready to take their relationship to the next level, you know something more permanent, to want to share a life together and I'm ready, Gwen I really am" Sam told her.
Gwen looked thrilled like she had just won the jackpot. "Oh, Sam does this mean what I think it means?" she asked him all excitedly.
Sam just nodded his head as he held her hands in his more firmly. "Yes, Gwen, I'm saying is I'm ready for you to come down in Kansas to be with me, and not just finding your own place but I mean move into the bunker with me" he finally said with a bit of relief as he felt like the kid who was asking his girlfriend to the prom.
Gwen just smiled as she never looked anymore happier than she did that moment. "Sam, you're really asking me to move into the bunker with you?" she asked him, trying to contain her excitement.
Sam nodded his head again. "Yes, of course, you know you won't just be living with me, you be living with Dean, Ava, Adam and Charlie and sometimes Castiel will pop in now again, they do come with the package but there is so much room for all of us, and we will be together and will have privacy whenever we want it, I hope you don't mind the crowd, so will you?" he asked her.
Gwen just nodded her head and cried out, "Yes, oh yes, I will!" loud enough for the other customers and staff to hear forgetting that she was at a restaurant for a moment.
"That's perfect" he said as the two leaned over and kissed on the lips.
"Oh, Sam this is the best Valentine's, I mean I've waited until the day you asked me to come join you in Kansas, even though I pictured finding my own place and visiting you whenever I liked" she told him.
"Well, look at it this way, you don't have to worry about paying rent" he told her jokingly as he let go of Gwen's hand.
Gwen then stopped smiling and looked a bit serious. "Of course, I have to let grandmom know, this is such a huge step, Sam" she told him.
"You know a part of me still feels guilty taking you away from your grandmother" Sam told her.
"Hey, we talked about this before Sam, my grandmom only wants me to be happy with the right man that is, and I think she realizes that is you. Of course, she will be a bit sad about me going but if it's what I want and need she will support me and she survive, she can handle things on her own. It will mean I have to quit the business with her, but it will be fine" she told him.
"Yeah, besides, maybe when your grandmother retires, she can join us at the bunker if she wants to that is, there's always room for more" said.
"You're serious?" Gwen asked wondering if he's joking or not.
"Yeah, I'm serious, we are all about family and your grandmother is your family and has always treated me and Dean like family, so yeah, if she ever wants to, she's welcome to stay at the bunker with us" Sam said.
"Are you sure Dean and the others would be alright with that?" Gwen asked him.
"I will discuss the matter over with them but I'm sure they will be onboard and why not, Dean cares about family more than anyone and we all like your grandmother, she's like the grandmother we never had" Sam told her.
"Well, I'm not sure if grandmom would ever want leave her home that she shared with my granddad, and raised my mom in, it has so many memories for her, and she loves that house but it's nice that you would consider it anyway" Gwen said.
"No problem" Sam replied back.
Gwen just sighed. "So, when do you want me move in?" she asked.
"Right away is fine. Tomorrow, we can tell you grandmother that you decided to move in with me and we can pack your stuff and go, or if you need more time, we can wait until the next weekend and I can come up and help you move your stuff, even Dean and the others can come up with me to help" he told her.
Gwen suddenly had a hesitant look on her face. "You know Sam, as much as I'm excited about moving in with you, I think I will need a bit more time with my grandmom before I join you at the bunker" she told him.
"More time?" Sam replied.
"Yes, Sam, I mean, I will be moving far away from her, and I wanted to at least have some more time with her, be around to celebrate my birthday and all which will likely be the last time I do at house" Gwen said.
"Well, how much time do you need?" Sam asked.
"I would like this to be our last winter living together under the same roof and join you at the beginning of spring" she said.
"Spring?" Sam cried out.
"I know that may feel like a long time, but please Sam, I just want to have our last winter together, besides I prefer to move when the snow is all gone and the weather is warm anyway, never liked long drives during the cold snowy weather" Gwen said.
Sam just looked a bit dumbfounded. "Wow, wait until spring huh" he said again.
"Please, Sam don't be upset, spring isn't too away it will be just another two months at least and I promise I will join you at the bunker, I hope you understand" Gwen pleaded.
Sam thought for a moment then finally sighed again. "Well, I made you wait this long to finally ask you to move in with me, I think I can handle waiting just a couple more months until spring for you, and I understand wanting to be there for family" he said.
Gwen just smiled. "Thank you, Sam, you're the best" she said.
Sam smiled a bit right back. "And don't you forget that" he told her sarcastically.
Then the two leaned over and kissed each other again on lips not caring who sees them. Afterwards, they pull back just glaring at each other.
"You know, I'm still trying to picture myself living in that huge place with you, Dean, Ava, Adam and Charlie" she told him.
"They're okay with you moving in if that's what you're worried about, I had already discussed it over with Dean before about asking you someday, believe me he's onboard with it and Ava and Charlie would love to have another woman around to hang out with" Sam said.
"I'm not worried that, I like hanging out with them too, Ava is probably the closest thing I have to a gal pal, and it would be great to get to see more of her and get to know Adam and Charlie better, but I do admit I never pictured living with my boyfriend in a bunker with his family" she said.
"Does it bother you at all?" Sam asked curiously.
"It's just that I always pictured with my future partner it would just be the two of us in our own place but that was before I met you, and I know your life isn't conventional and if I'm going to be a part of it, then I have to be willing to live unconventional as well and that includes, you're living arrangement" she said.
"Are you sure Gwen, if I thought that you were uncomfortable living in the bunker with me and four other people, feeling like it was too crowded for you, I would understand, and I would even be up moving out and us finding an apartment for just the two of us" he told her.
Gwen's eyes lit up as she looked quite touched by that remark. "You would, you would really move out for me?" she asked.
"Well, you're willing to make the sacrifice and leave your home and only family behind to share a life with me, I think I can make a small sacrifice by moving out and finding a place of our own, it wouldn't interfere with my partnership with Dean, and we could always visit the others at the bunker" Sam said.
Gwen still looked touched but slightly shook her head. "You know as much as I'm touched by such a sacrifice and a part of me is tempted, I can't let you do that Sam, that bunker is you're home and if I'm willing to move in with you that includes the bunker and being under the roof with the others. Besides, I really don't mind now, I think it would even be fun living in a huge place with plenty of rooms to explore plenty of magic books to read and whatever and just being with the others like a happy family. And that place is big enough for us to have our privacy with all those rooms. Sometimes, I felt like that place was more like a museum" Gwen said.
"Oh, there is plenty of room for us, I assure you, if we want privacy we can have it, there any places in the bunker that I've been to that the others seldom goes, when I want to have some space to myself, and you can check out those books if you like, there is plenty about lore and magic spells and rituals" Sam told her.
"And I will be looking forward to it all especially just being with you" she told him.
They talked on some more before deciding to get up and dance some more and this time more people were up dancing as well, but it didn't matter at all to them since once they were on the dance floor dancing away, they felt like the only two people in the room.
After a few more hours, it was getting really late, and they decided to head back. When they hot back to the house, Madame Bess had already retired bed, which was a bit of relief for the two of them as they liked having some more privacy just the two of them. The first thing they did was head upstairs to Gwen's room as they were both a bit tired out from the day. They both got ready for bed and hit the sheets. However, neither of them was too tired for a late-night tryst and in no time, they two of them were making passionate love to each other and then just feel asleep in each other's arms.
