Chapter 45 Meeting Face To Face
Both Dean and Sam were now facing Becky Rosen who had stood in front of their parked car and then walked towards them for a briefly for she stopped to let them know they needed to talk. Both of them had to admit neither were necessary thrilled to see her again although it wasn't really terrible to run into her either after all this time, at least as far as Sam goes. Dean on the other hand despite some of the empathy he had for her the last time he saw her, it still didn't mean he was looking forward to more run-ins with her in the future and knowing how much she fangirls over them in their adventures, he wouldn't put it past her to be so eager to be more involved in their case then she needs to be, I mean she basically made herself Sam's new hunting partner during their fake marriage.
"Becky, what are you still doing here, I thought you had…."Sam replied before Becky cut him off. "Had gone already, yeah about that I after seeing you two and I have to say, it is so great seeing you again and under such circumstances makes it even more ironic. Anyway, I knew you two would eventually show up, I mean I hope you would be considering what has been going on in town, I just knew the case involved you know…monsters" she said in her typical fast-talking tone and whispered the word monsters after looking around to see that nobody was around within earshot.
"You know seeing you two doing your FBI agents thing, I admit I nearly screamed, of course, I restrained myself not to give you guys away, and of course, I couldn't tell sheriff about the monster parts, but I can tell you guys, just hope you are able to stop those biker werewolves before they kill again" she went on enthusiastically.
"Hey, slow down now, slow down. First things first like what the hell are you doing in Pleasantville" Dean cried out.
"Yeah, the last time checked you were staying with your aunt here in Lancaster" Sam replied.
Becky just shook her head with the same enthusiastic look on her face. "I never said my aunt lived in this city; I said I was meeting her here. My Aunt Doris actually lives or lived in Pleasantville. She moved there some years ago to get away from the big city life for something more small town and wholesome and she thought that any town with the name Pleasantville is as wholesome as you can be, but she does or did work here as a math teacher at one of the schools if that counts. Anyway, after seeing you two at the sheriff office, I just thought I had to hang around to see you and give you more heads up about the case" she said.
"Okay, okay obviously you are involved in this since you're a witness and know one of the victims, we do need to go over more details about a lot of stuff, but not out here so meet us back at our motel at an hour later our number is 105" Sam replied.
"I could just follow you back since we're going to the same place" Becky said.
"No, we don't want to look a bit suspicious to residents especially those bikers if they are what you say they are" Sam said.
"Okay, I guess that makes sense" Becky said.
"Where's your car?" Dean asked her.
"Oh, it's park over there, the yellow one" said Becky as she pointed her finger in the direction of an old fashioned yellow Buggie Volkswagen, that looked quite old and the color was even fading a bit.
"That's your car?" Dean asked shocked that she would have such an old used car.
Becky just nodded her head. Of course, Dean didn't feel too surprised that she wouldn't have such good taste in vehicles. "Anyway, we will see you about an hour okay" Sam said.
"Gotcha, and I have to say again it's really great seeing you guys again even under these circumstances, got a lot to tell you, okay I will see you in an hour" she told them like an eager teenager.
Then after they exchange their goodbyes, she headed off to her car turned around and waved at them again before getting in to drive off.
"Guess we better be heading back to the motel and wait for Motormouth Becky to show up" Dean said.
"Come on Dean, you know Becky isn't that bad once she tones it down a bit" said Sam.
"Yeah, but when has she ever tone it down a bit, besides, I know we got bigger fish to fry other than Becky. Have to admit I still think it's kinda cute of you keep defending your ex there a bit" said Dean with a grin sarcastically.
"Uh, shut up" said Sam also grinning.
"I mean it, you're sure you didn't have a thing for your former Mrs., does Gwen got something to be worried about afterall" Dean went on who couldn't help but tease is brother.
"Knock it off already, lets get outa here too" Sam said as he gave his brother a little nudge.
The two got in the Impala and headed back to Pleasantville and then back at the motel where the noticed again some of the motorcycles that parked. "Well, I guess the gang is home" Dean said sarcastically.
"Still our luck to be sharing the same motel as the possible killers" Sam said.
"Relax Sammy, just hope they are smart of enough to get too suspicious, for all they know we are just passer byes too" Dean said.
"Yeah, dressed in suits, like government officials, nothing suspicious about that" Sam said.
"Just act natural if we run into one of them that's all" Dean told him.
They got out of their car and headed back to their motel room. As they were walking to their motel door, Dean turned to notice someone looking outside their window at the nearby rooms but whoever that was quickly moved away when Dean looked in their direction. Then they went inside their motel room and sat down on their beds to relax Dean thinking about Ava and Charlie decided to pull out his phone and call her up and Ava answered.
"Hey just checking to see how you're and Charlie are doing" he said while lying on the bed.
"This case is a bit tougher than we thought. A lot of the folks out here are very superstitious and don't trust strangers that much especially people who work for the government so a lot of them aren't saying a whole lot but there is this one old dude who seems to know more than he's letting on. We're still working on it" she told him.
"How about Charlie, how is she doing on the case?" Dean asked.
"Oh, Charlie is like a boss, she really knows her stuff and she can question or interrogate these people like a pro. My, I really do think you guys underestimate her" Ava said.
"Yeah, I guess we do, but still please look out for her anyway if you don't mind" Dean said.
"Hey, we look out for each other so don't you worry" Ava said.
"Speaking of the hunter-in-training where is she?" Dean asked her.
"She's off looking into something, while I'm going to question some more people, it's a long story which I will be telling you once this case is over, hopefully we can both swap monster stories" Ava told him.
"Me too" Dean said.
"Hey, how is it going for you guys?" Ava asked.
"Well, we think the deaths are related to werewolves and we have a theory about who they are, and we ran into an old familiar face here too" Dean said.
"Oh, who is it?" Ava said curiously.
"Nobody you know but will fill you in once we get finish with this case which I hope isn't too long" Dean said.
"Well, I will hold you to that, but I need to get off now and finish my questioning, I'll tell Charlie you called" Ava said.
"Okay, well take darling and I'm missing every moment I'm not there with you" Dean said.
"Me too, I'll be counting to the days we are apart and can't wait to be together again, love you hun" Ava said.
"Ditto" Dean replied back.
Soon Dean hung up and turned to Sam who had been listening to the whole for a while now which Dean wasn't shy about.
"Wow Dean" Sam said looking impressed.
"What?" Dean asked. "I'm missing you every moment, I'll be counting the days we are apart, really you two sound like a hallmark card" he told him.
"Oh, please, it's no worse than the mushy stuff you and Gwen say to each other when you think I'm not listening. Sometimes I struggle not to gag of the things you say" Dean fired back.
"Okay, okay, let's not make this into a pissing match into who says the mushiest" Sam said.
"Anyway, did you reach your old lady or were you so busy eavesdropping on my hallmark moment" Dean replied.
"I tried calling but her phone is off, so I texted her and she texted me back saying she and Adam are at the movie theatre right now watching a flick. At least I don't have to phone Adam to check up on him afterwards" Sam said.
"Okay, I guess now we just wait for the former crazy fangirl ex to show up and spill more of what she knows, still can't believe of all the places, we end up where you former Mrs. now happens to make her happy home with Auntie" Dean said.
"Dean like I said before, that can't be helped right now, the only thing that matters now is that we hear her out especially since she is a partial witness to one of the deaths already" Sam said.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, just wish we get this over with all ready then really do some investigation" Dean said.
"At least we know where the potential killers are, the good thing about them being at the same motel as us, is that it will make easily for us to search their rooms for clues" Sam said.
"Yeah, but they been here all day, since their motorcycles are still parked. I guess, they don't go out until nighttime to hang out at the bar and go on their killing sprees" Dean said.
"I'm still puzzled by the fact that the sheriff said they had alibis on the night of the murders" Sam said.
"Correction Sammy, he said that the dudes they got into beef with had tight alibis, but the others didn't, since they all claimed to be together at their motel rooms and their motorcycles seen parked" Dean added.
"That's right, they were each other alibies and nobody else actually saw them there when the murders happened just that their motorcycles were still parked. They could have left at any time leaving the motorcycles behind and covered for each other" Sam theorized.
"Yeah, that is a great theory, glad I came up with it" Dean said half sarcastic.
"Only you came up with it huh" Sam fired back sounding amused by Dean's comments than offended.
"Sure, since I'm the real smart one here" Dean told him jokingly.
"Uh, shut up" said Sam half laughing.
They waited for about an hour for Becky to show up while watching TV to soothe their boredom when at last, she finally showed up when she said she would. Once she arrived, she sat down on couch, and they sat down too waiting to hear what she has to say.
"Okay, Becky now that is just us, you can fill us in on everything you know about all of this" Sam told her.
"Where do I start?" asked Becky.
"Start with those motorcycle gang" Dean said.
"Yeah, you said that they arrived not to long before the murders and one of them each had a run-in with the victims, the sheriff clued us on most of that part and they had alibis during the night of the murders and the officials can't prove if they had anything do with it" Sam explained.
Becky cleared her throat feeling very useful as she was about to tell them all the details she knows.
"Well, like the sheriff told you the killings are started after that biker gang arrived over a week before the first death and they are five members all dudes" she told them.
"All dudes?" Dean asked.
"Yeah, why?" asked Becky.
"Oh, nothing" Dean said as he thought about that red-headed biker chick he saw when they first arrived at the motel.
Somehow, he assumed she was one of them maybe a girlfriend to one of the members but now he doesn't know what to think.
"Okay go on" Sam told her.
"Right, anyway, just like I told the sheriff, all the victims had a run-in with some members of the gang at different time and they all ended up dead afterwards and it is not a coincidence even if they all do have alibis on the night of the killings" Becky told them with a serious look on her face.
"Okay and tell us more about this Ned dude" Sam said.
"Well, just like I told the sheriff, he was a neighbor more like my Aunt Doris's neighbor very friendly guy, he always greeted me whenever he saw me and we all played binger at Myra's house" she said.
"Who is exactly is this Myra?" Sam asked.
"She's a neighbor and was an old friend of my aunt and now she's a friend a mine and she invites us all to her place sometimes on Friday evening to play a game of bingo, and know it sounds like an old person's game but the winner does win a prize and it is something fun to do at night if you don't want to go out ever since the killings started a lot of people are afraid to go out at nights . Anyway, Ned became interested after I started attending. I personally think he only attended to be near me, he seemed to have a sort of a crush on me" Becky said bashfully as Dean kind of rolled his eyes.
"Well, as I told the sheriff that night I thought I heard a scream come from his house which is right across mine or my aunt's and I peeped out the window and heard what sounded like a the TV playing quite loud and even bothered some of the other neighbors who were yelling for him to turn it down and then the sound was lowered so I assumed he turned his TV down" Becky said.
"What about what you said about seeing some figure in night again?" Sam asked her.
"Yeah, like I said, I turned my head a bit and though I saw what appeared to be some movement in the back of the house on the left side but it like a blink and you miss type of thing. I only saw it or thought I saw it only for less the second before it was gone and I told you all before, I couldn't make out what it was and even convinced myself I didn't really see anything after it was so dark and I could've just imagined it. Then the next morning I called him, and he didn't answer, and I told you how I saw his body looking out the window and how I went over there again to investigate and found the strand of hair in the bushes, and I just know it belongs to one of those bikers despite what the sheriff's says" Becky told them.
"Well, the sheriff said this Speed fella has a tight alibi, who else do you suspect?" asked Sam.
"Well, I know other than Speed, two other members of the bikers have light brown hair" Becky replied.
"Do you know who they are?" Dean asked her.
"I can't remember who is who by name is since, I've only seen them a few times but one of them has a beard and has an earring in his right ear and the other one has a mohawk and both his arms are covered in tattoos" said Becky.
"That is narrowing it down a bit" said Dean.
"Don't worry Becky, we will figure this out before there are any more killings" Sam reassured her.
Becky just sighed and looked hopeful. "I hope so, you know I didn't want the sheriff to know but I had been doing a little bit an investigating of my own" she said with a proud look on her face.
"What!" cried out Dean and Sam at the same time.
"Well, not a whole lot it just that after the second victim, I just drove by the motel to watch them a few times a night and followed them to the bar and I once even looked through their windows outside but nothing much was happening. Good thing, nobody saw me and thought I was some kind of peeping tom, or worse, any the bikers caught me but I'm pretty good at snooping and staying quiet I could help you out with this case in you want maybe even be a lookout and all" Becky said.
Neither Sam nor Dean were thrilled about what Becky said. Sam turned to Dean who had a "I told you so" look as he rolled his eyes.
"No Becky, we need you to stay out of this, this is way too dangerous. Leave the investigating to us, we will get to the bottom of this ourselves" Sam told her.
"Yeah, Ms Nancy Drew-in training, you just stick the bingo games or join a book club and leave the hard stuff to us" Dean added.
Becky looked a bit disappointed but was trying not to show it.
"Okay I get it, stay out it and all but please just stop them soon lot of the towners are really getting scared some to even leave their homes during the day.
"Don't you worry Becky we will and I think it would be a good idea for you to stay inside your house and don't leave at all unless you have to like your job" Sam said.
"Oh, I don't have a job" Becky corrected him.
"Perfect then you don't need to leave your house and all and you be sure to pass that on to your aunt" Sam said.
"Oh, Aunt Doris isn't around anymore, she passed away a while ago" Becky told her.
Sam looked a bit taken aback as he hadn't expected that.
"Oh, didn't know that I'm sorry but you stay in your house while those bikers are here and don't leave at all especially at night and only unless you have to" Sam instructed.
"Well, usually do the weekly shopping on Sunday which is tomorrow" she told him awkwardly.
"Okay, but just make sure you go in the day and don't go out for anything else not even Myra's bingo games" Sam told her.
"Sure, I can go in the morning, anyway, if there is anything I find out that is important I'll give you a call" Becky told him.
"Fine and in case you're in trouble for any reason" Sam said.
"But how will I be able to reach you?" Becky asked.
Sam swallows and then pulls out his card and hands it to Becky. "
Hey, here is my card give me a ring if you're in any trouble or you see or found out something okay" he told her.
"Sure thing" Becky replied.
She paused a bit then after feeling a bit awkward again, she got up.
"You know, I better get going now, you two just do your hunting investigating thing" she said feeling a bit socially awkward as she headed for the door.
"Hope you get those guys and be careful, I guess, not that you won't" Becky told them.
Sam then walks her to the door, and she turns to him one last time before leaving the room.
"Take care, Becky" he tells her.
"Same for you guys" Becky says then she heads out the door to her car in the parking lot.
Sam closes the door and turns back to Dean.
"Well, your reformed crazy fangirl was a bit helpful afterall" Dean said. Sam just nodded his head.
"Yeah, I really think we should keep a closer eye on those bikers and maybe we can even search their rooms while they're out" Sam told him.
"Of course, they tend to hang out at that Country Line bar especially by the evenings. We could just look around by then" Dean said.
Then Sam looked out of his motel window.
"Or maybe could do it sooner, come here and look" Sam urged Dean.
Dean came over to Sam and looked out the window too as they watched the five bikers leave their motel rooms and head for the parking lot and get on their motorcycles and within several minutes, they all rode off.
Then Dean noticed that the female biker who stays right next door opened up her motel room door and was also looking out at the gang as they left. Then she quickly closed the door. Dean couldn't help but feel curious about her and where she fit into all of this.
"Looks like they're gone so we can go snooping right now" Sam said.
"You know Sam, there is one thing I've been wondering about and it's that chick from next door. I mean if she is not part of their crew from what Becky said then who exactly is she and how does and she seems quite interested in these biker dudes too from the way she was watching them ride off" he said.
"Beats me, maybe she's just a curious sole rider curious about the gang and wants to join them or something, I mean we don't have time to think about some random biker chick who has nothing to do with any of this as Becky said there only five of them all guys. What we got to do now is get into their rooms" Sam said.
Dean nodded his head. "Yeah, I know you're right Sam let's get going already. We need hurry and solve this case" said Dean.
"You know it's now or never" Sam said.
"Okay, let's do this" Dean replied.
They waited another ten minutes to see if that nobody is around looking and noticed outside the window the biker chick get on her motorcycle and headed off shortly after the biker gang left. Then they went outside and having memorized which rooms the bikers were staying they went the door of the first motel room where two of the members stayed and Dean managed to pick the lock of the front door and he and Sam entered the room and quickly closed the door. The motel room was a mess with beer cans on the floor as well as a bunch of empty pizza boxes on the table and the couch and the two beds were still unmade.
"Wow, this place looks like a pigsty" said Sam as he kept looking around.
"Yeah, who would have thought it, a pack of wolves live like pigs" Dean said trying to be sarcastic as Sam rolled his eyes.
"Anyway, we don't know how long when those biker canines will show up so lets look around really quick" Dean said.
Then guys set to work and searching around the place for clues not sure what they were looking for but after searching the drawers and the trashcan, they looked under the beds and Sam pulled out a leather duffel bag and soon unzipped and found something peculiar.
"Woah, look at all of this" Sam said as he and Dean looked at all the contents in the duffel bag that was filled with merchandise from watched, a pocket watch jewelry, wallets full of money, some wedding rings and other stuff that could be valuable.
"Well, well well, it looks like these biker werewolves aren't just killing folks but may be also robbing from them as well" said Dean still looking over all the stuff.
"Yeah, possibly pawning them for money" Sam replied.
"So, they likely stole from some of the victims here as well" Sam replied.
Dean nodded his head. "Most likely" he replied.
"Anyway, we got to search the other room now" Sam said as zipped the duffel bag back and put it back under the bed.
Then they left the motel room and went to the room next door and once again Dean picked the lock, and they entered the room. This place was just as messy, with beer cans and bottles everywhere on the floor and tables. The beds were unmade and there was a blanket on the couch and some food on it assuming one of the bikers slept there. Once again, they searched under one of the beds. What they found took them by surprise, as they found weapons a couple of swords, hunting knives and a machete. Under the other bed, they found more items including a bows and arrows, some rope, more swords and another machete and a hand axe. They just looked over more of the weapons looking stunned as this was unbelievable for werewolves.
"Wow, Dean what are these dudes into?" Sam asked in amazement.
"Beats me" Dean replied shrugging his shoulders.
"It's not usual for werewolves to have such weapons but whatever it is they came quite prepared" he went on.
"This is a lot I'm telling you, you would think they were preparing for some kind of battle" Sam said as he was still looking the weapons over.
"Man, who knows, but it's definitely serious" Dean added.
They then put the items back under the bed and continued searching around the motel room but couldn't really find anything else useful. The two then decided to hightail it out of there before the guests return and exited the room making sure nobody was watching and went back inside their room still thinking about the items they found.
"Still can't get over seeing all those weapons under the bed" Sam said.
"Neither can I and that means we got to keep even an extra eye on these gang. Tonight, we tail them wherever they go and don't lose sight of them to make sure they don't do anymore killing" Dean said.
"Dean, I don't think they are stupid enough to kill again so soon after the last one, I mean from the reports of the other victims it could be a week before they start killing again.
"Then we wait until then, we wait as long as it takes and then we nail them but until then we are their shadows, we trail them every night since that's when the killings started, wherever they go we go" Dean told him.
"Wow, to be stuck here for a whole week or even longer" Sam said.
"Hey, I'm sure Gwen will understand, I mean she sign for all this didn't she" said Dean.
"Yeah, I know but I was thinking about me being away from her" Sam said. "
Yeah, I know what you mean, I don't like being away from Ava too long. Anyway, if Ava and Charlie are already finished with their case and we are still stuck in this town, we will just call them down here for back up" Dean said.
"That would be great, but what do we do right now?" Sam asked.
"Right now, we wait, we wait until they get back and then by the evening, we trail them" Dean said.
"Boy this will be a long night" said Sam shaking his head as both he and Dean just laid upon their bed to rest and wait for the return of the werewolves bikers.
