Chapter 51 A Little Family History

As Sam and Becky went to sit down at the table Dean and Jen just hung around the pool table and Dean could see some of Jen's relief that Becky was gone and even though he knew it wasn't his business and this wasn't the right time to talk about family issues, he couldn't help notice that Jen seemed like she wanted to unload to somebody who was willing to listen without judgement and with all the family baggage he had to deal with over the years he wasn't going to judge her and he could kind of relate.

"Wow, looks like the fire is out" Dean told her sarcastically.

"The fire?" Jen asked looking confused.

"Well, you gotta admit, it was getting a bit heated there for while with you and baby sister" Dean told her.

" What would give you that I idea?" Jen asked being sarcastic herself then gave a serious look.

"Seriously, I guess you would say, I'm the last person Becs there was looking forward to seeing. I mean this was quite the family reunion, at a bar scoping the hell on wheels over there with fangs" Jen said.

Dean had to admit he liked her sarcastic wit, it reminded him so much of himself that he wasn't already spoken for by another sexy red-headed hunter, they definitely would be having hot sex after their mission.

"I do have to admit, I never in a million years can picture you as Becky's sister and a hunter too, what are the odds" Dean replied.

"Well, these odds are true though sometimes I have a hard time myself believing we're related" Jen said.

"One thing you can believe is that you two don't seem particular close, there seems to be a lot of bad blood between you if you excuse the expression" Dean replied.

"You can definitely say that I'm pretty sure Becs is filling your brother in on a lot of dirt about me, and not so flattering dirt that is making me out Atilla the Hun" Jen said.

"Well, perhaps you like to fill me in on your side of it while we finish this game, I'm a good listener myself and you won't get any judgement from me, I can assure you" Dean said as he hit the pool ball with the pool stick.

"Don't know where to begin" she said then she took her turn at the pool table.

"Anywhere you like, it's your story" Dean replied.

As the two of them went back and forth taking turns playing their pool game, Jen sighed and told her story. "Well, in a nutshell, Becs is right, I wouldn't win the "Sister of the Year Award". I certainly wasn't my sister's keeper. Are you close with your brother?" she asked Dean.

"Yeah quite. For the longest time it was just the two of us, me and Sam against the world fighting the monsters together" Dean said.

"Sounds great for the two of you" Jen said.

"It is, I mean it's not always perfect, we've had our disagreements and have fallen out a few times, but we always work through them and have each other's backs when it really counts" Dean explained.

"Well, can't say the same thing for me and Becky not even back when we were kids. Gosh, she was such a geek back then, the queen of the nerds. Not just her, the whole family was geeks, our mom and dad. I always felt like the black sheep of the family. Becky was just a disgustingly twerp back then it was so easy and fun to want to really lay into her and rip her one. Would have had more respect for her if she grew a freaking spine and at least tried to fight back, would have still giving her a hiding but would have respected her more" Jen told him.

"Wow, you really were the sister of the year" Dean said sarcastically.

"Hey, I admit I wasn't the great big sister a girl could ask for, hardly. I still remember that time, I made her walk far behind me when we walked to school, couldn't afford my crew seeing us together and wouldn't allow her to talk to me at school not in public that is, even when she wanted to come to me for help because some kids were messing with her, she was on her own. As a matter of fact, we she got home from school, I messed with her myself, sometimes my friends would join in, it was just so fun to torture my twerp little sister, the pranks we pulled on her, Becs was just so pathetic you could almost feel sorry for her.

One particular time when she was being bullied by these kids, I mean they were throwing away her books, had her on the ground pulling her by the hair and dragging her on the ground as she cried out in pain. I was some distance away with my friends and she turned to me and I could tell by looking into her eyes, she was hoping I could come to her rescue but I was with my friends, so instead I just walked away with them. I don't think Becky ever forgot that" Jen with a serious look on her face as she took her turn shooting the ball.

Dean didn't know what to say about all of this. He told Jen he wouldn't pass any judgement on her, but he had to admit to himself this was much, he couldn't imagine letting any punks hurt his little brother not for anything in the world.

"Wow," was all he could say.

"Wow indeed, told you I wasn't the sister of the year" she reminded him.

"Well, what did your folks do about all of this?" Dean asked.

"Nothing they could do, they were such wussies themselves, I don't think they hardly ever raised a voice to us; besides, Becky didn't snitch on me, at least not anymore, she wouldn't dare, knowing that I would just pay her back good if she did. Then our dad died, and mom had to work longer hours and wouldn't be home sometimes until when it was late at night after dinner and I would be stuck home most the night with Becky, boy that she would be a real pain the ass sometimes. Of course, I admit I wasn't no angel either, I get bored and just rag on her a bit, well maybe more than a bit; sometimes my friends came over and helped but hey, she made it so easy for us, and it wasn't like I did it all the time. Sometimes I let up even take pity on her, tell my friends that I'm bored torturing my sister and we just go out and find something more fun to do.

I can recall one time, me and my crew locking her the garage, but that was only because she decided to get bold and embarrass me in front of my friends and had them laughing at me. I can admit that was a bit extreme, especially after we went out and hung out for hours because I forgot that I had locked her in that freaking garage and when I remembered, I headed home straight away with some excuse that my mom was coming home early, and I didn't want her to know I went out. Anyway, I opened up that garage and there was Becky, sound asleep on some old mattress we threw out. I kind of felt bad there about so much that I decided to lay off her for a two whole weeks" Jen explained.

Dean had just listened to everything that came out of Jen's mouth and trying to process it all. Jen was right, she was no ideal big sister as he couldn't imagine doing half those things to Sam even if Sam could be a royal pain at times when they were kids. It made him feel sorry for Becky even more, she has no family and a sister she has no relationship with at all who used to torture her growing up.

"Wow, you were quite the big sister" Dean just said as he took his turn at their pool game.

"Hey, not defending my actions here, I was kind of a wild card back then, still am, I thought I was too cool to have a geeky sister like Becky and even now after seeing her all these years, she still such a dork, but even though Becs doesn't know this and if you tell her I will rip your balls out, there were few other times, I did do my sis a favor" Jen said.

"Really, you did your geeky kid sister whom you're ashamed to be in your presence a favor?" Dean said kind of sarcastic.

"Yeah, and don't say it out loud" Jen said looking over where Sam and Becky were and can see they're seem to be in a middle of a conversation themselves.

"So, what favors did you oh Becs there, not send her to your torture chamber" Dean went still being sarcastic.

"Well, one thing those bullies that gave her a hard time, I approached them to make a deal, I will give them a pack of cigarettes, an adult magazine, tell them about the latest R rated movies they can sneak into if they take an easy on Becky, at least don't rag on her too much" Jen told him.

"Wow, how noble of you" Dean replied sarcastically.

"Hey, with me that as noble as I can get" Jen fired right back. There were the times when me and my friends were messing with her, I may have taken pity few times telling my crew I was bored torturing old Becs, and just suggested we do something else fun like go out, smoke, raise hell and maybe torture some other pathetic loser we crossed" she went on. "She was really lucky to have you that's for sure" Dean replied again being sarcastic.

"Hey, I am who I am and I'm not going to change become mother freaking Theresa. I may not win the best sister of the year award, but I'm not totally inhuman either" she said as she took her shot at the pool game.

"Hey, look, I said I wasn't going to make any judgement so, yeah I get it, even if it's not like that with me and Sam, I understand family is different for everybody. Besides, I do know of thing or two about mistakes and regrets and I'm made plenty of them" Dean said.

Jen didn't respond just paused a bit then sighed as she stopped playing for a minute. "You know, I still remember when I took off. I was nineteen years old, had just dropped of junior college after year because I didn't feel I had any place there. Only enrolled because our mom made me think that it was my only option or get a job and I didn't want to get a job, but I hated it. I felt there was a whole world out there outside of Pike Creek and it was time I explore it and I wanted to get away from my geeky mom and sister, felt I was just too cool for either of them. So, one day I just packed up with some money I had and left. Even heisted a few things I knew neither of them would miss to sell off in pawn shop for more dough and I was out of there, and for the longest time I loved my freedom of new adventures making new friends and all that I didn't look back.

I know Becs thinks I just abandoned her and mom and she's right, I did. After a while, I just stopped calling and had no contact with them in years. Of course, what Becs didn't know was part of the reason I couldn't contact them because I was in jail" Jen said.

"What?" Dean cried out as he too stopped playing the pool game and was more intrigued in Jen's story.

"Yeah, I was in the big house for a while" Jen told him.

Dean nearly forgotten about the bikers was more interested in hearing Jen's story.

"You were in the slammer, how, may I ask?" Dean asked her.

"Quite a long story but I tell you the shorter version. I was in Arizona at the time, and I got involved with this dude, well anyway he and his crew were involved some illegal activities you can say" she told him a bit skittish about sharing all the details.

"What kind of illegal activities?" Dean asked curiously.

"You can say gun smuggling" Jen said a bit embarrassed.

"What, seriously, you were…." Dean cried out but Jen quickly shushed him.

"Hey, not so loud, don't need the whole world to hear" she told him as she looked around to see if anybody was looking and hardly anybody glanced their way not even the bikers.

"Seriously, gun smuggling" Dean said in a near whisper.

"Hey, I admit, it was exciting at the time to get involved with someone into that kind of thing, I was so into bad boys, still am I loved the thrill of it, it turned me on greatly" she told him as Dean rolled his eyes.

Jen just swallowed and went on. "Anyway, I didn't actually sell any guns, I just helped them load the material and sometimes drove kept an eye on the books and all" she went on.

"How did you get busted?" Dean asked her.

"The cops raided the apartment and found all the stuff and we got carted away just like that, had to go to court and all and the judge wasn't too sympathetic since it wasn't my first offense, although that was over something minor and a different story altogether. But this judge was the tough as nails type and decided to give me 90 days for aiding and abetting and accessory" she finished.

"And Becky nor your mom knew anything about this?" Dean asked her.

"Heck no, I hadn't seen them in some years by then and I didn't have the nerve to contact them after all that time to tell them I was in the big house for my part in gun smuggling. I guess I was actually ashamed if you could believe it" Jen said.

"So, you served your time and all?" Dean asked her wanting more details.

"Yeah, I did my time got out then I found out that somebody from the crew tipped off the police. He was a informant and was working with the police in exchange not to do time for credit card fraud. So, I decided to track him down, get him drunk and screw him then, I took off with his bike which is now my bike" she explained.

"What about the boyfriend, you just forgot about him or something? Dean asked.

"He got sent to the big, big house since he already had multiple offenses and besides, I wasn't sure how I felt about him after my time in jail. I just took off and left Arizona to start over. Then I thought about my family and how it had been a long time since I've seen them, I mean while in Jail I met other jailbirds who had at least a family member including a kid to think about and couldn't wait to get back to and sometimes I would think about mom and even Becs. So, I decided maybe I should just go home and pay them a visit" she finished.

"Let me guess, it wasn't the warm welcoming you were hoping for?" Dean replied.

Jen just shook her head. "Hardly, first it was only Becky there and I found out that mom passed three months earlier from some cancer in her brain and that was that. They weren't even able to contact me to let me know she was sick, and I didn't even get to go to her funeral" Jen said briefly stopping as there was brief look of sadness in her face but she quickly composed herself and went on with her story.

"Anyway, I could tell Becky wasn't too thrilled to see me after all these years. I knew she certainly felt I deserted them years ago and I didn't see any point in trying to have a sisterly relationship after all that time, so I just asked her about her will. Any money she had left, she left to Becs besides, she was trying to sell the house because they had been in dept for a while couldn't pay the mortgage or something like that so she was selling it and she promised to give me half of what she would receive from the sale. I stuck around long enough for her to sell the place took my share and just took off again and let her be, and now after all these years, she's here in this place of all places while we're dealing with a biker gang of werewolves and this whole thing is so freaking messed up" Jen finished.

Dean listened quietly to everything she was saying and took it all in and couldn't help feel a bit of empathy for Jen and sensed there was regret in her tone, regret of her choices including leaving behind her family. No matter what she was saying he felt deep down she does want to make amends to Becky but just doesn't know how to express it as he can relate since he had in the past trouble expressing his feelings and always tried to bury them down deep. He took a sip of his beer and swallowed.

"Maybe you should tell Becky all of this" he suggested.

"What's the point, we don't have a relationship and I doubt we ever will not even now and I'm fine with that to tell you the truth" Jen replied.

"Hey, look I get it, burying your feelings just because it's easier, and believe or not me and Sam had fallen outs plenty of times but always found a way to get pass our issues and bury the hatchet. Now maybe you and Becky are nowhere near tight as me and Sam and maybe you two won't be close after all of this, but it still wouldn't hurt to let talk out your problems as my brother would always say. I mean you seeing each other after all the years even under these circumstances seems like your chance to make some amends and resolve your issues, even if you two don't become the close like me and Sam it still wouldn't hurt to try" Dean told her.

Jen just briefly turned to glance where Becky and Sam were sitting who seemed to be engaged in a conversation of their own. Then she turned back towards Dean, and she then let out a little sigh.

"Man, that sounds all sappy and all but I'm just not sure with me and Becky, we are way pass solving anything especially not become best friends or even mere acquaintances. Some things are just not meant to be and it's just better to let it lie and move on" she told him.

Dean then gave out a little sigh himself. "Okay, but at least think about what I said, will you?" he urged her.

"I'm not making any promises, but I may consider it" she told him.

He just gave her a little smile. "Well, I guess that will do" he said.

Just then Jen's face went from calm to anxious.

"Oh snap, how long have we been talking about my problems, we forget about the bikers" she told him trying to say it out loud.

They both turned to where the bikers were and they in the same spot talking among each other just like they did when they last glanced at them, and they both felt relief.

"Oh boy, we really need to focus on those bikers now, I didn't mean to talk so long about my issues that we could have missed them if the left" Jen said still looking worried.

"Hey, it's not your fault, I was the one that kept asking you about your life story when I should've been more alert, besides, my brother would've giving us the heads up if any of them left" Dean tried reassuring her.

"From the looks of it, he and my sis are busy in their own little party over there, bet she's talking his head mostly about how I sucked as a big sister" Jen said.

"No matter they are discussing over there, Sam would never allow himself to get so distracted he wouldn't notice the bikers leaving or not. Anyway, let's just get back to our game and keep an eye on the pack over there" Dean told her.

"Great idea" Jen said smirking. "And I still can beat your ass" she added.

"We'll see about that" Dean said smirking.

They soon resumed their pool game and were even enjoying themselves and took turns glancing the bikers' way occasionally, but they stayed in the same spot the whole time. Over a half an hour passed when it was Dean's turn and Jen glanced up and saw one of the bikers headed their way.

"Don't look now but it looks like we are about to have some company and it's from one of the pack" Jen told him as Dean quickly turned to see one the bikers come closer in their direction. "Wonder what he wants, anyhow?" she added.

"Beats me but just act casual" Dean cautioned her.

He then turned back to continue the gave acting like nothing was happening when the biker arrived at the pool table. He had dark hair and bushy beard and tattoos all over his arms.

"Hey dude, how long are you and your old lady going to be playing, some of us would like our turn at the game too" he told Dean sternly.

Dean just turned to face him and continued to act like normal.

"Hey sorry about that man, just got so caught up in it, but give us a few minutes and we will done, and the table is all yours and your friends over there" he told him.

The biker just gave a grumpy look. "Okay then but speed up will you" he said in angry tone and just before he turned to leave, he smacked his hand on the pool table, removed it then just left retuning to the other bikers.

As he was leaving, both Dean and Jen looked down at the table and were stunned as the saw that a folded-up piece of paper was now on the table, and they realized the biker left it there for them.

"What that's some kind of note or something?" Jen asked confused.

"I think so. It seems our little friend didn't just come over here over the pool game, he left us this note for us" said Dean.

"I wonder what it says" Jen replied feeling a bit nervous to find out.

"Well, we might as well find out" Dean said as he picked up the folded paper, unfolded it and read the message the biker left.

He suddenly had a nervous look on his face as he was reading it.

"Hey man, what does it say already, is it some kind of threat or something are they on to us?" Jen asked anxiously.

Dean just handed her to the note to read and she read it softly. "We know who you are, and why you're here. Stick around after closing time, if you don't want someone else to die tonight".

Both Dean and Jen quickly turned towards the bikers who were now glaring at them right back. Then they quickly turned to each other both looking a nervous.

"Son of a bitch, they're on to us" Dean said.
