Chapter 54 Aftermath
The nightmare was now over as all the werewolves' lifeless bodies laid on the floor in the almost empty bar except the hunters and Becky. After everybody checked to see if each other were okay, Dean and Sam started coming up with a story to tell the sheriff and the deputies once they called them.
"You really think the sheriff is going to buy all of that" Jen said with a skeptical look on her face.
"Yeah, these law officials usually buy anything FBI agents tell them" Dean said.
"So, what now?" Jen asked.
"Right now, you and Becky take off, then we call the sheriff's office. It's better if they didn't know you two were involved in any of this" Dean said.
"Yeah, there is nothing more than I want to do right now than get out of here and head home where is safe" Becky replied.
"Told you this would be too much excitement for you sis" Jen said sarcastically.
"Oh, come on, don't start this again not after everything we've been through tonight" Becky said annoyed.
"Hey, lighten up already, I was just messing with you, gee" Jen replied.
"Whatever" Becky said rolling her eyes.
Then Jen turned to Dean. "Hey Dean, I like to have a word with you before I take off" she told him.
"Sure" Dean replied as they went over to the counter area to talk while Sam and Becky remained behind.
As they stood near the counter they turned to face each other.
"You know, this usually is hard for me but just wanted to thank you for having my back with those bloodthirsty creeps" Jen told him.
"No problem, I mean we hunters gotta stick together" said Dean.
"Yeah, and if you ever need an extra hand on a case, you can just call me" she said.
"Same here but I think you also need to thank Becky over there too; I mean she did save your life" Dean told her.
Jen briefly glanced over to Becky and looked back at Dean with a hesitant look. "That might be a bit tougher" she said.
"Oh, come on, after what happened tonight you can't give her a thank you" Dean replied.
"Hey, I'm grateful she saved my ass back there, gotta admit she kicked ass there and I thought I was the one that would have to save scared little bacon. Don't you worry, I will have a word with my dorky little sister by the end of the night but I'm not giving her a hug or anything don't need her thinking we're going to be all buddies and all" Jen told him.
"Hey, baby steps okay" Dean said.
Then Jen smiled again. "You know speaking of showing thanks, I light to do more to show my appreciation for your help after all, your life was in danger too, like if you guys stick around a bit longer after all this thing is dealt with, I can buy you drink this time at the other bar and maybe we can do dancing or play pool and then some thank you sex afterwards, doesn't have to be anything special just a hookup" she said.
Dean just grinned flattered at the thought. "There was a time I would totally go for that but now I'm what you say I'm spoken for, after we deal with this mess, me and Sam will be heading off as there is another sexy red head that I'm going home to" he told her.
"Oh, I would never take you for the commitment sort" Jen said.
"Yeah, where for the longest time I wasn't but what can I say, you find the right person and things change" he told her.
"Just wondering, if this other sexy red head is a he or a she?" she asked him.
"Definitely a she" Dean replied a bit taken aback by such a question.
"Hey, can't blame a girl for being curious these days after all I swing both ways myself. I have to admit that werewolf chick was kind of hot, if she hadn't had turned I would definitely but making my move on her" Jen said.
Dean just continue to be taken aback by her comment especially since it sounded like something he would be thinking himself a long time ago regarding the werewolf chick that is.
"Anyway, hope this sexy red head is worth it" she told him.
"She is, and I'm hoping to return to her after she finished her case too" he said.
While Dean and Jen continued their conversation at the counter, Sam and Becky were having a conversation of their own.
"You good Becky?" Sam asked her.
Becky just sighed. "Yeah, just still processing of this, tonight I had a werewolf attack us at my home, reunited with my long-lost wayward sister after all these years, then got ambushed by more werewolves and ended up killing one" she told him.
"Yeah, it's been a hell of a night" Sam told her.
"Yeah, I suppose it's all of a day's work for you guys" Becky said.
"Something like that" Sam replied.
"Well for me it was too much, maybe I should have listened to you and stayed back at the motel after all" Becky said.
"Hey, if you didn't you wouldn't have seen your sister" Sam told her.
"Yeah, all the more reason I should have stayed at the motel" Becky said sarcastically.
"Oh, come on, after what you and your sister went through tonight, you did save her life back there" Sam reminded her.
"Yeah, well don't get carried away about it, I would have done the same for you and Dean" she told him.
"Maybe, but come on, that was your sister and remember, I saw the way she looked when that werewolf nabbed you, she was willing to go in your place" Sam reminded her.
Becky just briefly turned and glanced at her sister who was still talking to Dean and let out a quick sigh.
"Yeah, I have to admit, she was willing to do one noble thing for me and knowing her she will likely lord it over me to make me feel Like I owe her the first chance she gets" Becky said.
"You can just remind her that you were the one that ended up saving her then" Sam said. Becky just smirked.
"Yeah, love to see the look on her face when I remind her how it ended up with me saving her bacon instead, she won't know what to say, I know she will be too proud to actually thank me" she replied with smirk on her face.
"Hey, you don't need a thanks just maybe you can use this a starting point to reconnect again really talk, after everything you both went through, I think you both owe yourselves that" Sam said.
"Yeah, that I can do, but it doesn't mean we are going to have this sisterly bond or be besties over this like you and Dean there" Becky replied.
"Maybe not but at least you could have something, like it or not she's part of your family and you said it yourself you don't have too many family, at least not anyone you are close to and maybe you to will never be close or even like each other but you can try to meet each other half way and hoping to call a truce put this friction you have behind. Besides, I think even having someone like Jen as family is better than not having any in your life" Sam said.
Becky sighed again. "You know it gets a bit annoying when you are always right" she told him.
"Well, for what it's worth I am occasionally wrong one in a while" Sam told her sarcastically and she just laughed a bit. "Look, just give it a try and if it doesn't work out you don't have to see each other too often anyway" he went on.
"Yeah, I admit I kind of think it's awesome that my big sister is a hunter who goes around killing monsters and I happen to be a fan of books about hunters killing monsters basically the stories about you and your brother, but I'm not going to tell her that, she's awesome that is and don't you tell her either that I said that or I will strongly deny it" Becky said teasingly.
"Okay, dually noted but right now I would like to give you my number" Sam told her.
"Your number?" Becky said surprised.
"You know in case you'll need me and Dean's help again in the future rather than going to Garth to pass on the message. If there is any more trouble that requires hunters just call me" he told her.
"Wow, you're offering me your number, I mean there was a time that would be a dream for me for different reasons that is but hey yes, I'll gladly take your number but I'm afraid I don't have any paper on me what about you?" she told him.
"No not right now" Sam said.
"Hey, there's no problem, just drop by my place before you and Dean take off and I'll give you a paper and pen if you need one and you can write it down then" Becky told him.
"That I can do" Sam said.
"Anyway, I want to thank you again for saving my bacon this time" she said to him.
"Sure thing" Sam replied back.
While they were talking Dean and Jen were finishing up their conversation.
"Okay, I'm ready to head out of here, though I feel guilty letting you and your brother clean up the mess here" she told him.
"Hey, it's better this way, just easier than explaining you and Becky's involvement in all of this" Dean said.
"What exactly are you going to say to the cops?" Jen asked curiously.
"We'll think of something don't you worry about that we always come of up with a story" Dean told her.
"Okay, well it's time for me to face the music or in this case my kid sister over there" Jen said.
"Well good luck" Dean told her.
With that Jen and Dean walked over to where Sam and Becky where standing and Jen approached Becky.
"Hey, Becs, look I just wanted to say thanks back there for you know saving my ass" she told her sister trying to hold back her reluctance.
"Wow, you actually thanking me for something that's a first" Becky said half surprised and half smugly.
"Well, I figured I owe you a thanks after you ganked that beast, that took real guts, I admit I was quite impressed, would have never thought that you had that in you" Jen told her.
"Did you say just say you owe me and you were actually impressed by me?" Becky replied who couldn't help but take this opportunity to be smug.
"Hey, I gave you a thanks, but don't push it Becs, this doesn't mean I 'm going to be always beholden to you or something like that" Jen fired back defensively.
Becky just sighed and nodded her head. "Okay, okay, I just couldn't resist but for what it's worth, I have to thank you too for willing to sacrifice yourself to save me back there, that took guts and I didn't think you had it in you" she told her.
"No problem, but don't get in habit of getting into trouble, I'm not going to make the habit of always trying to save your ass" Jen said.
"Okay, got it" said Becky.
"Okay, I'm heading back to the
motel now and you guys can handle the rest of this just as you like" Jen said turning to Dean and Sam.
"Yeah, I think I've had enough adventure for tonight, can you guys at least drop me off at my house before you report this in at least?" Becky asked.
"Hey, why not Jen take you home give you two a chance to catch up about each other as you two have a lot to talk about" Sam suggested.
Becky looked a bit taken aback by that suggestion.
"Really Sam, I think I rather…. but before she had a chance to finish that her sentence Jen cut in.
"Oh, come on Becs, don't be so hung up, I'll take you home" she told her.
"Really Jen it's not necessarily" Becky tried to reason but Jen didn't let up.
"Oh, it's no trouble, as a matter of fact, I change my mind, I don't think I we go back to the motel tonight, I'll just crash at your place" Jen said smirking.
"You'll what?" Becky said not looking too happy about what her sister just said.
"Yeah, it'll be fun, we can hang out and really catch up on things, I can tell you a lot of stories about my life that will knock you blocks off" Jen said.
"I bet" Becky said and before she had a chance to say anything else Jen spoke up again.
"And you can give me details about your boring life up until now, it'll be awesome, well anyway, let's get moving already" I'm beefed" she told Becky.
Becky not knowing what to say just relents. "Okay, but just for tonight" she tells you sister.
"Sure" Jen replies with a smirk who doesn't seem to take Becky's remark seriously.
Just then Becky turned to Sam again. "You know thanks again for everything tonight, not just with the werewolves but your advice about my sister" she told him.
"No problem Becs" Sam replied as he couldn't resist teasing her about that nickname Jen gives her.
"Well, just don't go calling me Becs or I'll have to take it back" Becky said teasingly.
"Okay then Becky" Sam said with a smirk.
Jen also went up to Dean to thank him some more. "Hey, once again thanks for your help back there" she told him.
"No problem and thanks for your help too" Dean replied.
Jen just sighed and nodded. "Well it was a relief to finally nail those bastards" she said.
"I guess you finally have closure then" said Dean. Jen just shook her head.
"Nah, not really, I still see what he did to Zed and the others in my head, even now after we got to gank those bloodthirsty creeps, I can't help but think about that night and all they did and guilty that I got away and Zed didn't. But killing all of them is the only satisfying thing out of all of this right, I mean at least they won't no longer being able hurt anybody else and I should feel relief for that" Jen said even though she didn't seem too convinced.
"But a part of you isn't, hey look trust me I've been there, wanting revenge and feeling like you avenged a wrong done to you or a someone you care about may feel rewarding at the moment, but the pain of loss doesn't just go away. It may never go away but in time you just learn to live with it and move on" Dean told her sympathetically.
"Wow, thanks there, Doc, remind me to come to you're for session whenever I'm feeling down" she told him sarcastically.
"Hope so, and you'll get one free of charge" Dean sarcastically replied right back.
"Well, seriously that really helped a bit" she said.
"I'm glad" said Dean.
Jen just glanced around back at Becky and Sam were still talking then turned back to Dean. "Well anyway, I get to get baby sis out here right now, but I like to at least get your number, I mean in case I might need your help again with a case and I can give you mine if you are ever needing of extra help" she told him.
"That I can do but I don't have anything on me right now" Dean told her.
"That's okay, we can exchange numbers before any of us head out".
"Then I'll make sure to do that" Dean said.
"Take care for now and good luck handling this with the law over here, you'll going to need it" Jen told him.
"Thanks, and take care yourself" said Dean.
She smiled at him then turned around and call after Becky. "Okay Becs, I'm ready to go now" she cried out to her.
Becky just turned to her impatiently and said, "Give me a sec I'm in a middle of something now" as she turned to Sam.
Jen just sighed. "Hey, you got plenty of time to say goodbye to your little crush over there, lets get going already" she cried out to her as she walked over to where she was standing.
"Just got out outside already, I'll be right behind you okay" Becky cried out annoyed.
Jen just rolled her eyes. "Okay, but don't keep me waiting" she fired back as she headed out the door into the night.
Becky then turned back to Sam. "I guess I better get going now and you and Dean can just do what you gotta do" she told him.
"Yep, we will" he said.
"What will you tell the Sheriff?" she asked him.
"We will come up with something convincing like we always do, don't you worry" Sam said.
"I guess you know what you're doing" she replied.
"You know I better get out of here before Jen get comes storming back in here wondering what is taking me so long, don't need her mad at me now, just when there is a cease fire at least for now" she said in a sarcastic tone.
"Hey, good luck with your sister and all" Sam told her.
Becky just sighed again. "I'm going to need all that luck, but I have to say I'm really nervous about going out there right now" she told him.
"Why, come on, I doubt your sister will bite, at least not now after everything you've all been through tonight" Sam told her.
"Oh no, that's not what I'm nervous about. I mean, if it's true that Jen rides a motorcycle, those things still freak me out" Becky said.
"Hey, wait a minute, you're scared of motorcycles, I mean after everything with that biker back in New York when you were Rebecca, the badaass chick" Sam said.
"Hey, Rebecca may have loved riding on the back of some biker on a Harley but me, I'm a still a big scaredy cat when it comes to them" she told him.
"Well, maybe the Rebecca side of you can come out, you said you still have a bit of her in you" Sam said.
"Yeah, well she must be taking a nap right now, because all I feel right now is just me shaking in my boots of the thought of riding on the back of my crazy sister on some bike and knowing Jen, she doesn't like to ever take things slow" she said as Sam just smiled in amusement.
"Yo Becs, what's taking you so damn long!" Jen yelled outside nearly at the top of her lungs.
Becky just rolled her eyes. "Oh snap" she said as she and Sam said their goodbyes and then she turned and said her goodbyes to Dean and just headed out the door into the dark night.
When she got outside it didn't take her too long to see Jen on sitting on her motorcycle ready to take off as she walked over to her.
"Took you long enough Becs, hop on already.
Becky just looked nervous as she got up on the motorcycle sitting right behind her.
"Oh, forgot one thing here, Becs" Jen said as she grabbed the motorcycle helmet and gave it to her. "Put this on, you may want to use it" she replied.
"What about you?" Becky asked.
"Don't worry about me, I don't need it" Jen said.
So, Becky took the helmet and put it on her head still looking nervous.
"Okay, we're off" Jen replied.
"Hey Jen, please, I know you like to drive fast, but could you please ride slower with me at least, I don't need another fright tonight" Becky pleaded.
Jen just grinned. "Don't you worry about anything, you know me" she replied.
"Yeah, that's what worries me" Becky said.
Jen just laughed and before Becky knew it, she started her motorcycle and within moments she started riding slowly through the middle of the parking lot and then she suddenly sped up and started riding out of there quite fast as Becky held on to her waist for dear life. Meanwhile, Dean and Sam just looked outside from the door and saw the whole thing watched as they drove out of sight.
"Oh snap" was all Sam said. Afterwards, both Sam and Dean came up with a story together tell the law that is convincing.
Then they called the sheriff's office and told them their convincing story. The sheriff did feel their story was quite a stretch as they had explained to him that the bikers were serial killers after all. They went around killing folks they had a run-in with earlier as part of their thrill killing game and relieving their fantasies of werewolves going around killing folks, they used sharp tools such as fake animal claws, fangs and wolf teeth that they wore on them for their killings to make it look like it was a real wolf attacks.
The reason they had alibis of the murders was because, while some of the bikers were at the bar, one of the others who were back at the motel would leave and track down the attended victim on foot after being tipped off by their comrades at the bar of their whereabouts and each murder happened late at night when most of the folks would be in their homes and may not have noticed anybody walking around at night. That night for whatever reason all of them were at the bar so they decided to keep tabs on them. When it was getting close to closing time and everybody else had already left, that's when the bikers ambushed them locking the door so nobody could get end and made sure they couldn't leave and revealed themselves to them as they suspected they were catching on to them.
The bikers were planning on killing them right there and then, making them their last kills including the bartender, so they couldn't have any witnesses and then were going to get out of town as soon as possible. Since they were going to kill them, the bikers didn't hesitant to confess everything to them and how they disposed of all of their weapons they used so no law could find them on them and they felt they could get some more later on. Then they prepared to attack them using switchblades that led to a fight in the bar and forcing them to use deadly force since they wouldn't drop their weapons.
Unfortunately, two people got caught in the middle of the gunfire, the bartender who was used as a shield and the local woman Tina, who was in the women's restroom when the fight started as they all assumed everybody had left and she was shot by the leader when he managed to get a hold of one of their guns during the fight when she screamed. The leader even managed to get a hold of Dean and had the gun to his head, while Sam was hiding and was about to use him as a hostage to get out when all his men were killed but Sam managed to take him out from behind.
The deputies checked all the bodies and saw switchblades near the victims since Sam and Dean removed the switchblades from all their pockets and planted them making sure to have the biker's fingerprints on them using paper towel so they're fingerprints won't be found on them as they always thought of everything. As for the hair that Becky found in the bush near her neighbor's house, they claimed it likely wasn't tied to the bikers and learning from experience, it was more than likely belong to some kids fooling around in the bushes, or some local drunk youths getting into mischief. The sheriff questioned their story a bit but being just a sheriff from a small county, he decided to believe the word of the two big shot FBI agents, afterall, there was no reason for him not to believe government officials.
Then all the corpses were taking away and after giving all their statements, the sheriff thanked Sam and Dean for all their help and for wrapping up the case and now the town is safe again. They finally were able to leave in a sigh of relief especially since Sam still had the body of one the locals who was turned into a werewolf and tried to attack him and Becky still in the trunk of the car which he informed Dean after they drove off and returned to the motel. Of course, once he's reported missing, they can just claim he likely another casualty of the werewolf biker gang, possibly having disposed of his body.
"Hey, look, I'm just glad that this is over with, and we can finally get out of this hick town" Dean said.
"Not yet, we still have go over some more details with the sheriff, maybe hanging out here for another day or two as he is going ask more questions about our statements" Sam said.
"Yeah, well fine, I can handle another day here, but I just want to get back to Ava, and I wonder if she and Charlie are alright, are they finished with their case and wondering about us, and Sam, I know you want to get back to Gwen as soon as possible" Dean replied.
Sam thought about Gwen wondering if she's worried about him and why hasn't she heard from him and just hopes maybe she at least is busying herself to keep herself occupied whether it's with her new job or Adam keeping her company.
"We're call the girls tomorrow morning and Adam to let them know we're okay and heading back and don't worry about Ava and Charlie, they can handle themselves fine, in fact, I'm sure they probably wrapped up their case too" Sam told him.
Dean just sighed. "Man, I sure hope so, anyway no good worrying ourselves like two old chicks, let's get some shut eye, I'm beat and can use the rest after what went down" he said.
"Yeah, me too" said Sam.
Soon the both of them just took off their shirts and shoes and got into their beds, turned off the lights and in no time were fast asleep relived that the nightmare was over.
Update: I'm sorry this is taking longer than usually to post but I was sick with a very bad cold for days and still have congestion, along with working on other things but I will be back posting hopefully every few weeks. Hope you all continue to enjoy the chapters. Thank you.
