Chapter 55 Another Goodbye and Heading Out

Dean and Sam got up early the next morning and spent the time phoning Ava and Charlie to let them know they finished the case and are heading back. The women however were still on their case and that it may take a bit longer as it has become quite complicated but hopefully, they will complete the case in a couple more days and they all said their goodbyes. Afterwards, Sam phoned Gwen who was about to go to work, and she put the phone on loudspeaker so Adam could talk to them as well. He informed them about the case and their plans to return to the bunker soon and both Gwen and Adam gave them details of what they've been up to since. Their conversation wasn't long and soon they said their goodbyes as well.

Then they headed for the diner to get some breakfast and afterwards drove to the sheriff's office to go over their statements again. They both stuck to the same story they gave last night. The sheriff was curious about certain details, but he didn't want to question the FBI and to be honest, he was actually relieved that the two FBI agents wasted all the bastards who was terrorizing the folks in his county and now everybody was safe from all the killings and he would love to put medals on the agents for doing what he wished he could have done in the first place. After going over all the details again, and making sure the report is accurate, they exchanged their goodbyes.

"Well, nice knowing your guys and don't take any offense that I hope I don't have to see you two in the county again" the sheriff said in a friendly way.

"No offense taken; we know what you mean" Dean said.

Then the brothers drove back to Pleasantville to their motel to get the rest of their things, then they drove to Becky's house before heading out town just to say goodbye to the feuding sisters. Becky greeted them at the door and let them in. Jen was also there as expected since the guys noticed her motorcycle parked next to Becky's car. Once they let them inside, they all headed to the living room.

"So, how did it go?" Becky asked eagerly.

Dean and Sam both explained to the sisters everything they did and what they told to the sheriff assuring them that they left their names out of it.

"So, did they buy it?" asked Jen.

Dean nodded. "Yeah, they seemed convinced of what we said. I think that sheriff is just relieved that nobody has to deal with the werewolf biker pact again" he said.

"Good, so are we and so will the rest of the town" Becky said.

"Yeah, glad those bastards are finally wasted and won't snack on anyone else again" Jen said.

"So, how about you two, are you both good?" Sam asked.

Both Jen and Becky glanced at each other briefly then turned back and faced the guys.

"As expected" Becky said she and Jen briefly glanced at each other.

"Yeah, same" Jen replied.

"So, I take it that you two are now taking off, now that the case is over?" she asked. Dean sighed.

"Yeah, we will be leaving right away, we just wanted to see you girls again and see how you're doing and say goodbye and all" he told her.

"Hey look, Dean can I have a word with alone for a bit?" Jen asked him.

"Sure" Dean said.

Then Jen led Dean into the kitchen area while Sam and Becky remained in the living room.

Neither of them said anything at first but then Sam quickly broke the silence.

"So, how is it going with you and Jen, did you hash it out or are you still at each other's throats?" he asked her.

Becky just sighed and gave Sam a little smile as if she was about to tell him everything was better between her and Jen before she spoke up.

"Well, honestly Sam, no" she said firmly now changing her facial expression from happy to serious.

"She's still driving me buggy, I mean, she kept me up most of the night snoring real loud, I could hear her from my room, thin walls in all, had to sleep in the other room further away, so I couldn't here as much. Then she invited herself to stay here for another day or two, another day or two with Jen is going to be hell. I mean early this morning, she didn't even offer to help me fixed breakfast, made me do everything nor help me clean up afterwards even when I politely asked, and she still likes to boss me around.

I know she thinks that she is going to spend her time in my house, just laying around doing nothing while I do everything around the house and won't lift a finger, it will be just like when we were kids under the same roof, but she has a nothing thing coming. I'm not the same person she can push around, in fact, I'm going to insist that she earn her keep and help me around house as long as she's here or else she's going back to the motel and I will personally lock the door won't let her back in. Maybe I just have to let a little of Rebecca come out" Becky said in her typically fast-talking way.

Sam just grinned. "Well, that great huh" he replied in a sarcastic tone as Becky just gave him side eye look.

"Hey, look I know it may not be perfect between you two, but she is your sister and you're not alone anymore" Sam told her.

Becky just sighed. "I guess it's kind of nice having a family member around after Aunt Doris at least only for a couple of days, even though I still feel I'm going to regret that choice, but who knows, maybe a part of me is hoping that something can come out of all of this" she said.

"Good, that's a start, isn't it?" Sam replied.

"But, I'm not naïve as everyone thinks, I know we're not going to just fix everything within a couple of days, if we ever fix anything at all, but I'm willing to at least the be first to give an olive branch as long as she is too, besides at least she will be gone soon anyway, back to globing around the world hunting monsters, I still can't believe she's a hunter, my big sister" Becky replied.

"Yeah, that seems like such a small world, you learned about us through those books that Chuck wrote while she's actually living it" Sam said.

Becky just nodded her head. "Yeah, that reminds me, when she grilled me about how I knew you and Dean I just told her about Chuck, the prophet, my ex-boyfriend who wrote the books about your lives and all and she didn't believe me, in fact she just laughed in my face, and acted like I was crazy" she said.

"Well, maybe she'll listen to me and Dean, we will vouch for you that you're telling the truth" Sam told her.

"That's nice of you, I really wished I still had the Supernatural books as proof, but I felt I needed to leave them behind in New York, there wasn't enough room besides at the time I was trying to distance myself from that fandom after everything, well you know" Becky said as Sam looked a bit awkward.

"Anyway, I did just find a whole collection of them on eBay, this morning, apparently somebody is selling them haven't gotten around showing Jen just yet, but I can't wait to and watch her mouth drop, I'm even considering buying them maybe I can rejoin the fandom now in a healthier way, I still have the unpublished works online" she told him.

"Yeah, I guess" Sam said still looking a bit awkward.

"Hey, don't worry, I'm not going to be obsessed again, I mean we already talked about that last night" Becky told him.

"No, Becky I'm not worried about that, look you do whatever you feel, you've come a long way" Sam told her.

"Thanks there" Becky said flattered then she paused for a moment as she appeared to be a thought. "I do have to admit, I kind of envy Jen a bit, I mean she gets to travel around the world doing what she loves even if it is hunting, follows her own rules and all, is totally free while I'm stuck here in this small town that doesn't feel too much the same now that Aunt Doris isn't here anymore. I part of me can't help but wish I could just take off and do my own thing" she added.

"So why don't you?" Sam asked her.

"Yeah right, and go where and do what?" Becky asked.

"Anything you desire, just have to figure out what that is and just do it" Sam said.

"I used to desire finding my true love with the perfect guy" Becky said.

"You know you can still find that right person, it's not to late, that's the one thing I really learned myself" Sam said.

Becky just grinned. "Yeah, speaking of that, I guess you want to get home and get back to your true love" she told him.

"Yeah, I'm looking forward to that; never thought I ever feel that way about a woman again" Sam said. "

Oh well, she's a lucky woman to have and if your love is real, I'm sure she feels the same way" Becky told him.

"Thanks" Sam said.

"No problem" Becky replied.

Then Sam changed the subject.

"Becky, I still like to get your number and give you mine just in case, you know" he told her.

"Oh sure, wait here and I'll get pad and pen" she told him and left for one of the rooms.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Dean and Jen were having their conversation as she they exchanged cell phone numbers if they ever chose to reach out to each other to help with a case.

"So, how is it going with the feuding sisters, I mean at least you two haven't killed each other so that's an improvement" Dean replied.

"Yeah, you could say that, but seriously, things were calm last night, maybe cause were both exhausted after what happened but this morning, we were at it again, going at each other like a bickering old couple, I will say though I know I can be bitch at times but Becs sure loves to complain a lot about almost everything, my snoring, she says I kept part of the night, my eating habits, that I didn't help her with the chores, just blah, blah, blah" Jen briefly paused with a sigh then went on. "Man, she can talk on forever never shuts up, listening to her can be like listening to nails scratching on a chalk board, a real pain in the backside" Jen finished.

"Sounds like typical siblings thing to me" Dean replied.

"Yeah, little siblings can be the worst" Jen said.

"Tell me about it" Dean said.

"Hey, I thought you and Sam there were tight and all" Jen said.

"We are but that doesn't mean we don't have our moments where we drive each other crazy. I mean we've even fallen out and went our separate ways a couple of times but we always came back together. No matter how many times we fight, we do need each other" Dean said.

"Wow, never would have thought, anyway, I still don't see me and Becs having this close sisterly relationship, and I'm not sure I want to, I mean, I can tolerate her only in small doses, having her around all the time, would dry me buggy" Jen said.

"Okay, I guess that's good enough just know that she's your family and you make not believe it but you're lucky to still have family around even if you don't like each other too much, there may come time when you two may need each other, I mean you two proved that last night when Becky saved your ass" Dean said.

Jen just rolled her eyes and laughed a bit. "Yeah, I hate to admit that I owe her one for that and she is going to have fun reminding me of that and I'm going to wish she let the bastard kill me" she said.

Dean just smirked.

"Yeah, but seriously, I do admit, after traveling alone all these years, it is kind of nice to have a family member to around even for a short and I mean very short time and if you tell Becs this I will deny it until the day I die" Jen said.

Dean just laughed. "Dually noted" he told her.

Then Jen sighed again and changed the subject. "So, what about you, are you headed out this hick town soon?" she asked him.

"As soon as possible" Dean told her.

"Well, you know, you could still stick around a day or two and we can hang, I'm not talking hooking up or anything, I mean have a couple of beers and play a game of pool again, you are a great opponent" she replied.

Dean sighed this time. "I have to take a rain check on that, I do have another sexy red-head I have to get home to" he told her.

"Well, I hope she's worth it whoever she is" Jen said.

"Oh, she is" he told her there was a brief pause before he spoke up again. "What about you, are going to stick around here for a while, I assumed you would want to get back on the road if not to get away from your pain in the backside kid sister" he teased.

Jen just shook her head. "No, I figure, I'll hang here for a day or two to unwind for a while before taking off. I think I can tolerate Becs until then and she's going have to tolerate me too, I admit a part of me kind of enjoys getting under her skin just like when we were kids" she said.

"Well, take care you" Dean told her.

"You too" Jen replied.

Then Dean just paused and stared at her for while like he was analyzing her.

"What, what is it?" Jen asked feeling a bit uncomfortable.

"It's just that I still feel like you look so familiar to me, like you remind me or someone and it has been weighing on me who" he told her.

Jen just smirked. "Maybe an old girlfriend or lover or a random hookup?" she replied.

Dean just rolled his eyes, "Oh just forget it" he told her, and they both laughed a bit before they headed out of the kitchen and into the living room where Sam and Becky.

Soon Dean and Sam headed to the front door with Becky and Jen walking them out and the brothers exchanged their goodbyes to the sisters.

"Goodbye Becs" Dean said teasingly to Becky.

"Hey, don't you start calling me that, it's bad enough I can't get her to stop" Becky said although she tried not to laugh too.

Just as they were headed out the door, Dean turned around to face the sisters. "I got it, I finally remembered who you remind me of" he said to Jen.

"Who?" Jen asked.

"It's Ginger" Dean said.

"Who?" both Becky and Jen said at the same time.

"Ginger, from the Ginger Snaps films, the horror films about the chick who becomes a werewolf. I just knew there was something familiar about your face, I mean you look a lot like her. I always had a crush on her, she was a hottie and it's ironic the movies were about werewolves" Dean replied then he glanced at Becky.

"And the other crazy thing is Becky kind of looks like the kid sister Brigitte" he goes on.

Becky and Jen just glanced at each other than back towards Dean. "No way!" they both cried out at the same time again and look at Dean as if he were crazy.

Dean just shrugged his shoulders. "Okay, just a thought" he told them, and they said their goodbyes again before heading out the door.

As the brothers were walking towards their car, Sam turned to Dean.

"Really Dean, Ginger and Brigitte from the Ginger Snaps flicks" he replied looking like Dean said something dumb.

"Hey, it's true that's who the remind me of, I knew she reminded me of somebody I just couldn't put my finger on it yet and it was driving me nuts" he said.

"Yeah, and I'm sure that's what they think you are, nuts" Sam told him.

"Yeah, whatever" Dean said.

When they got back to their car and were inside, Sam turned to Dean. "You know Dean, Becky did say something to me last night that I've been thinking about ever since" he told him.

"What?" Dean asked.

"She said that our relationship is so much different than her and Jen's because we are more than brothers, we are also besties too" he told Dean.

"Besties?" Dean cried out rolling his eyes. "Sound like what teenage chicks say" he finished.

"Hey, I'm serious Dean and come to think about it, I think she's right, I do think with us, we aren't just brothers, I consider us more like friends, best friends really. I mean even if we don't have that many friends around and besides Gwen and Cas, the person I'm closet to the most is you, we've been through a lot and know each other so well unlike anybody else, tell each other almost everything, I trust you most and whenever we're in trouble, I can rely on you the most to be in my corner, I say we are best friends don't you?" Sam replied.

Dean just swallowed feeling a bit of a lump in this throat as he thought about it more. "Well, when you put it that way, I guess yeah, I can consider you my best friend too and same here about the other stuff you said but hey, don't think I'm going to start calling you my bestie now" he retorted.

"Okay bestie" Sam said teasingly. "Oh, shut up" Dean replied who couldn't help laugh a little. "let's get it outta here already" he added.

Then just as Dean was about to start the ignition, Sam turned to glance at the house one more time.

"You know, now that I think about it, I think you're kind of right, Jen and Becky do sort of resemble Ginger and Brigitte" he said.

"Wow, who would have thought" Dean said as they both just laughed a bit and drove off down the road.
