Chapter 12

~I told you, You wouldn't scored anymore.~

Here I was in the flooded stadium in my official #8 jersey. Tonight was the night. Japan VS. Russia. Just like last year, only that this time, some people had threatened my twin sister, and I was so freaking nervous that it was like walking on thin ice.

I looked over the bleachers where Yuki was sitting next to Ryo, and some of his teammates, she waved at me and encouraged me brightly.

Next, I saw cheering for me my teammates from Seirin, every one of them was here and I felt so happy knowing that they were here with me to support me, I waved and smiled at them.

Then I looked at our opponents, I wanted to know who was between them the one that sent me that text, I wanted to see face to face that fucking coward!

Our coach gave us the last tactics and off we gone to the court. There was our Captain Hiroko-san the center, Umeko-san the small forward, the shooting guard Takura-san, Makoto-san the point guard and lastly there was me, the power forward.

The referee whistled and Umeko-san and the Russian center jumped simultaneously, the ball was ours, Umeko-san passed me the ball right away than I passed it to Takura-san, and so she scored a 3 points. We had the upper hand.

"What's wrong Saku-chan? Why didn't you score?" Umeko-san asked me while returning to defense.

"Sorry, I was a bit nervous!" I told her.

Actually, that wasn't true and I knew it. I kept glancing at where my sister was sitting, afraid that something could've happen to her. But then I thought, there was Ryo there next to her, so maybe I needed to stop worrying and start to play for real.

I was screening the small forward #5, she was a new member, she wasn't there last year.

I was pressing her so that she couldn't pass through me. "Now!" I thought seeing an opening and I stole her ball, I was gonna show them what my basketball was made of.

I got through the #2 point guard, with an easy "crossover switch" dribbling, and jumped up towards the basket, here comes the defense, 2 of them, they couldn't stop me or my double clutch shot. It wasn't enough to stop me.

"Yay! Nice shot Saku-chan!"Hiroko-san high five me for the nice shot I made, scoring my first 2 points.

I was so excited. I heard the cheers from the Seirin and my family. This was magical: the court, the ball, the basket, this is all what I wanted to do; play basketball.

It was the end of second quarter and we were leading by ten points, now there was gonna be ten minutes break.

"Sakurai you were amazing out there! You little rascal!" Takura-san complimented me while messing my hair tightly braided in a ponytail.

"Ah, thanks!" I said while trying to preventing her to messing much more my hair.

"Yeah, you did great Sakurai, but we don't have to lose focus, we're just at the third quarter, anything can happen. Alright girls, let's do this!" the coach said while we gathering up to do our fighting howl.

"1,2,3 Let's go!" we screamed altogether and we headed to the court again.

"Remi!"I heard someone calling for me, and then I saw Kagami and Kuroko outside our locker room.

"Guys! What're you doing here?"

"We wanted to wish you luck for the last 2 quarters."Kuroko said.

"I didn't expect you to do to so well…"Kagami joked.

"Tch! You didn't see anything yet, wait until the end, I'm gonna show you something good. And you're gonna envy me!" I smiled at him, and headed to the court with the others.

"Yeah whatever! Does she has something up her sleeves?" Kagami asked now turning towards Kuroko.

"I wouldn't know, but I guess she didn't show all she has." The blue haired boy said while they were returning inside the stadium.

The third quarter was about to start, I peaked at my sister over the bleachers to make sure that she was ok, everything was alright.

"That dumbass didn't even showed up!"I thought thinking of Aomine.

I was disappointed, I hoped that even though we fought, still don't know about what was the reason, he would have come to supported me. But in the end, why would I expect him to come? I didn't know.

The third quarter started. Makoto-san passed me the ball and I quickly moved towards the basket and here's the center blocking my way; she was very tough and skilled, I was stalling to figured out what to do.

"Do you think I will let you score any more points?" the center said.

"You won't score any more points in this game." She kept talking.

"What the hell do you mean? Watch me!" I was about to passed through her.

"Ah, ah, ah. I wouldn't do it if I were you. I wouldn't want that something bad happen to your cute twin sister, don't you think?"

Then I realized. It was her. It was her that sent that text message. I looked towards Yuki, she was brightly smiling cheering for me, then I moved my gaze to her right: there was two guys standing on the stair way. I looked to her left: two more guys. They were smirking towards me like waiting for one of my wrong move. It seems that even if i took a breath meant something.

I was paralyzed, what were they thinking of doing with this many people here? But above all, what would they do to my sister? And why? No, I didn't want to know the answer of these questions.

I couldn't think straight, i was hearing my teammates calling me, but i couldn't really heard them, i kept staying still stole the ball from me and scored.

"What are you doing Sakurai?!"Hiroko-san yelled.

I wanted to answer her but my voice didn't come out.

"Sakurai, defense! Defense!" I heard the coach screaming from the bench. I ran to defending our basket still in my "coma", and was ready to stop the point guard from shooting.

"Are you really sure you wanna do that?" I heard from beside me, I turned around and saw the Russian center #3. I was already in mid air half way to stop the shot, as I saw the four guys were approaching Yuki, I stopped immediately, without stopping the shot.

"I told you, You wouldn't scored anymore." The number 3 said.

"Change for Japan." The referee called, and I was subbed out.

I thought I heard my teammates and coach saying something to me, but all I could focus on was Yuki, and the #3.

I couldn't score anymore, what was I gonna do? I couldn't let my team lose because of me, and I couldn't let anything happen to Yuki, either. I needed someone, I needed someone to tell me what to do.

"What's wrong with Remi-chan?" Riko asked perplexed to Hyuga.

"I don't understand. The first two quarters she did great, it's almost like she "can't score"?" The captain stated.

"That baka! What's gotten into her? She was about to stopped the shot, and she just pulled back…"Kagami said.

"There's something wrong. She seems distracted. Kagami-kun, didn't you noticed that she kept looking over the bleachers?" Kuroko asked.

"Mhm… You think? Which way?" The red-haired guy, asked.

"Over there." Kuroko pointed where Yuki was sitting.

"Her sister? Maybe she's just happy she's here..."

"I don't know…" Kuroko was thinking.

"What is she doing, that idiot!? She could've just shoot!"

"Shin-chan, Are you looking forward to see the results of your training with her?" Takao smirked at Midorima.

"Shut up! I just don't understand her playing in this quarter." Midorima stated annoyed.

To be continued...
