Hello, Fanfiction time for chapter 4. Now after the Darkrai two-parter, Ash and Goh headed off to Alola for Goh to participate in The Pokémon Catch Adventure Race. However, due to the nightmare, Ash and Lillie do NOT feel ready to return to Alola. So, Goh and Chloe will be going to the race. Ash decides to bolster his forces for a potential visit from the nightmare verse by retrieving some old friends of his: AKA Pokemon He released. This will cover Kanto and Johto. Rest assured we will get to his other Pokemon. Also, I decided he won't catch 1 new Pokemon he will catch 3. Lusamine and Gladion will arrive at The Cerise Laboratory while Ash and Lillie are away. so that reunion will be this chapter. That's gonna be interesting. With that said Let's get started:
Reunions: Good and Bad?
"WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO," Goh screamed stunned. Goh had signed up for The Pokémon Catch Adventure Race, in the Alola region. He hoped Ash and Lillie could help him out as they knew the region well. Plus it was Lillie's home region so she would be the perfect guide. Ash and Lillie had just refused.
"Goh, I'm sorry but I am not ready to return home," Lillie said nervously. Ash was next to her nodding his head. "Ash wants to visit a few places in Kanto and Johto, and he invited me to go along."
Chloe gave Lillie a sly smirk. "Like you'd say no to your boyfriend." Lillie gave a nervous laugh. Ever since meeting Dawn, Chloe had been pouring on her teasing of Ash and Lillie's relationship. Ash had even told Lillie that when they went to Kalos, he wanted to keep Chloe and Bonnie away from each other, explaining Bonnie's habit of proposing to girls. He knew the two would try to get him and Lillie married.
Goh was depressed. Lillie smiled, "Why don't you go, Chloe?" Chloe blinked confused. "It would give you some possible ideas for reports for school, plus our friend Lana has an Eevee of her own." Hearing this Chloe's Eevee jumped up and down.
Chloe picked her starter up. "You wanna go?" Eevee nodded its head rapidly. "Ok then." With this done, Chloe and Goh headed off to Alola.
Ash released his Dragonite, who promptly hugged him, causing Lillie to giggle. Ash helped Lillie onto his Dragon/Flying type. "Ok Dragonite, first stop the forest outside Pallet Town." With that Ash and Lillie were off.
10 minutes later, the was a knock on the door of The Cerise Laboratory. Ren opened the door and it was revealed to be Lusamine and Gladion: Lillie's mother and older brother. "Hi, I'm Lillie's mother. I'm looking for my daughter, Lillie." Ren told the duo that Ash and Lillie had just left. Gladion was about to head off to find them, but Lusamine stopped him. "That's fine, We'll wait here for them." Soon Professor Cerise and Lusamine were discussing what Lillie had been doing since arriving at the lab.
30 minutes later, Ash and Lillie arrived outside Pallet Town's forest. Ash had returned Dragonite. "So what are you looking for here Ash," Lillie asked her boyfriend. Ash explained the events of what happened after his first Pokemon League. "So we are picking up your Pidgeot so he can help fight off the nightmare should it show up."
Ash nodded his head. "Yep, that is the plan." Ash turns his head, "Pidgeot it's me, Ash."
Suddenly Ash and Lillie heard a cry. "FEAROW" (YOU)
Ash pales, "Oh great." A Fearow charged right at Ash, who spread his arms, ready to protect his girlfriend. Lillie was very nervous about Ash's safety. Pikachu was about to fire a Thunderbolt at Fearow but before he could do so, Fearow was hit by a Hurricane with both Poison Powder and Stun Spore particles laced inside of the Hurricane.
PIDGEOT PIDGE PIDGEOT/FREE FREE FREE (GET AWAY FROM OUR TRAINER).
Appearing from the trees were: "Pidgeot, Butterfree," Ash shouted happy to see his first 2 Pokémon who flew in front of Ash and stared at Fearow ready to stop the Beak Pokémon. Landing near Lillie was a Pink Butterfree with two Caterpie on its back, 1 normal and one orange. Fearow tried to attack again but Pidgeot fired an Air Slash and Butterfree fired a Psybeam which both struck Fearow head-on knocking it out.
Ash hugged his first two Pokémon. "Pidgeot, Butterfree this is my girlfriend Lillie Aether." Both Pokémon's eyes widened.
PIDGEOT/FREE FREE (GIRLFRIEND)
Pikachu was rolling on the ground laughing at the reactions. Lillie was also giggling hard. Ash had a sweatdrop on his head. "Oh great, if my old Pokémon act like this I wonder how Brock and Misty will react."
Ash then explained the nightmare that Lillie had, and about Reflection Cave. Pidgeot and Butterfree were furious at this and were ready to fight the nightmare verse should it show up. Butterfree's mate decided she wanted to be Lillie's Pokémon. As for the children, Lillie thought it would be best if they went to Cerise Laboratory for their protection, (until they evolved and could fight alongside their mom and dad.
Lusamine and Professor Cerise were talking when two PokéBalls arrived. "Hmm, these are registered to Lillie." Lusamine was curious was her daughter had caught. Jaws dropped when one of the PokéBalls revealed an orange Caterpie.
"What the" began Gladion only to be interrupted when the Normal colored Caterpie sprayed its String Shot attack on his face, and he was hit in the chest by the orange Caterpie's Tackle. Mimey, (to whom Mrs. Ketchum had explained what was going on,) chuckled and took the young Caterpies out to where all of the Pokémon were, while Gladion washed his face clean of the String Shot.
Lusamine had to chuckle a little bit. "I think that might be a little payback for something I don't know about." She turned to Professor Cerise, "So why is Mrs. Ketchum's Mr. Mime here?"
Meanwhile, when they arrived, Goh and Chloe were bombarded with questions from Ash's Alolan classmates. Luckily Kukui was able to get Goh to The Pokémon Catch Adventure Race on time. Faba did try to question Chloe, but Yamper (who wanted to go with Chloe as it knew what Faba was capable of via listening to Ash and Lillie's stories while Chloe gave it a belly rub), and wouldn't let the man near Chloe. Eevee took it a step further by tackling Faba, then sticking its tongue out just like Ash's Gengar. Eevee eventually calmed down and started to play with Sandy.
After sending Dragonite and Gengar to Professor Oak's Lab, Ash and Lillie traveled to the outskirts of Fuchsia City on Pidgeot's back. "So you're retrieving your Primeape Ash?"
Ash nodded, "Yep, Lucario is strong but I realized I have only been using my current team for the Coronation Series. Don't get me wrong it's worked out great but, in Hoenn, I think I could have won if I had used my other Pokémon. Same with Unova. My teams just got worn out plus it was kind of predictable who I could choose. If I use my older Pokémon it gives me more options." Lillie nodded in understanding.
Soon after landing Ash and Lillie arrived at the dojo Anthony ran. "Welcome to- Ash is that you?"
"Hey Rebecca, is your dad here?" Rebecca nodded and called her father who soon came out with his partner Hitmonchan and Ash's Primeape.
"Well Well Well look who it is: The Alolan Champ. How ya been kid?"
"Great! I've been participating in the World Coronation Series,"
"And ya want Primeape to help you climb your way to the top, am I right," Anthony said knowingly.
Ash nodded confirming it. Primeape banged his fists together. Primeape (BRING IT ON)
Anthony took out Primeape's Pokeball. "Here ya go Ash and good luck in the competition." He turned to Primeape. "It's been a pleasure training you all these years. Put that training to work and help the kid reach the top." Primeape nodded and shock Anthony and Hitmonchan's hands.
Soon after Ash sent Sirfetch'd back to Oak's lab, introducing Primeape to Lucario, Dracovish, Pidgeot, and Butterfree in the process. Ash and Lillie were again riding on Pidgeot. "So Ash where are we going next, Lillie asked curiously.
"To a town near Goldenrod City. There are 4 stops I want to make in Johto."
Goh had finished The Pokémon Catch Adventure Race winning it by capturing an Alolan Geodude, a Bruxish, and a Passimian. Team Rocket had shown up but upon seeing that Ash and Pikachu were not there they left. Goh arrived back at Kukui's place where Ash's classmates tried once again to hound him about why Lillie was at The Cerise Laboratory. Goh stated he had no idea but that Lillie and Chloe had become best friends, much to Chloe's annoyance. To her newly founded chagrin, Chloe was hounded by Mallow and Lana for details about Ash and Lillie's relationship.
Ash and Lillie had arrived in the Johto region. "So what Pokémon are you hoping to catch Ash?"
"During our Journey in Johto, our group encountered a pack of Houndour. I already had a Cyndaquil so I didn't catch one. Now I think about things a Fire/Dark type will be helpful. Plus Houndoom could Mega Evolve and I know Leon has a ghost type on his team." Lillie nodded in understanding.
After they landed Ash sent Pidgeot out and explained what Pokémon he was looking for showing a picture of Houndour. Pidgeot left to search for the pack. While waiting, Ash and Lillie discussed what they planned to do if the nightmare verse showed up.
It took Pidgeot 10 minutes to locate the pack. A Houndoom barked to Pidgeot. Hound Hound hound houndoom (Halt, why have you entered our territory?)
Pidgeot Pidgeo Pidgeot Pidgeo Pidgeo (My Trainer Ash Ketchum would like to speak with you.) Houndoom's eyes widened in surprise.
Houndoom Hound Hound Hound (Take me to him.) Houndoom turned to the Houndour next to him. Hound Hound Hound Houndoom (Son get your sister and follow me.)
Houndour dour Houndour (Understood dad.)
Houndoom, his son, and his daughter followed Pidgeot to where Ash and Lillie were waiting.
Meanwhile in Alola Chloe had broken away from Mallow and Lana's questioning. She had one goal in mind. Seeing how loyal Faba was. After hearing all that he had done in real life and the dream she was not convinced that he was loyal. Fortunately, she met up with someone who shared her thoughts on Faba, a young girl from the Galar region named Marnie. Marnie had come to the Alola region hoping to catch an Alolan Grimer. She had seen Faba questioning Chloe and her Morpeko told her that she did not have a good feeling about the 'Glasses-wearing weirdo.' She and Chloe followed Faba to Aether Paradise after Morpeko had spotted him hanging around trying to listen in on Chloe's conversation with Mallow and Lana.
Back with Ash and Lillie, they met up with Houndoom (who Ash recognized as the leader of the pack from their first meeting) and his children. Ash and Lillie explained the situation. The two Houndour were furious at the disloyalty of Ash and Lillie's friends and family over something that Ash and Lillie's dream selves had no control over. Houndoom was as well but it was years older than his children and he handled it better.
Houndoom turned to Ash. Houndoom Hound Hound Doom doom doom (I want you and your mate to take my son and daughter and with their help beat back this nightmare should it appear.) Ash, Lillie, Pikachu, and the Houndour were stunned.
"Are you sure Houndoom?" Houndoom nodded to Ash. Houndoom Hound Hound Hound (I would go myself but I need to lead the pack.)
Lillie smiled. Thank You Houndoom your children will be safe with us." Houndoom nodded and left. Ash and Lillie caught their respective Houndour with Ash sending Dracovish to Oak's lab. Both Houndour had the moves: Thunder Fang, Smog, Flamethrower, Crunch, and Beat Up. Ash's had Flash Fire for its ability, while Lillie's had Early Bird.
Houndoom left as Ash and Lillie got on Pidgeot and flew off. Houndoom knew his children were in good hands. "So Ash where are we headed next?" Lillie was curious about what Pokémon her boyfriend was going to catch or reunite with next.
"The Marine Pokémon Laboratory. It's long overdue that I reunite with an old friend of mine and return it to be part of my arsenal. And thanks to some research I learned it is capable of Gigantamaxing." Lillie's eyes widened. Ash is determined to stop this nightmare verse from spreading its influence, and given the research, I have done on his past teams and victories since reuniting with him there is only 1 Pokemon he could want to reunite with that can Gigantamax.
It took Pidgeot 1 hour to get to The Marine Pokémon Laboratory. Ash and Lillie walked through the doors. "Hello is anyone here?"
Naomi, the director came over to the voice. "Ash is that you?"
Ash smiled at Naomi. "Hey, is the Lapras herd here?" Naomi nodded and led Ash and Lillie outside. Ash's Lapras called out to Ash who ran over to her. "Lapras it's good to see you again,"
Lapras Lap Lap Lap (Same Ash who's your friend?)
Ash called Lillie over. "This is my girlfriend Lillie Aether."
Lapras nuzzled her face onto Lillie's. "It's great to meet you Lapras. We need your help." Lapras tilted its head in confusion as if asking what was wrong. Lillie took a deep breath and explained the nightmare. Lapras' eyes hardened. She turned to the herd.
Lapras lap lap lap lap Lapras (Everyone I need to rejoin my trainer to fight this nightmare verse.) The herd nodded in understanding. Lapras's mother was nervous for her baby despite it being the leader.
"I understand your fear for your child but she will be safe with us," Lillie said to Lapras's mother who nodded. Ash recaptured Lapras and her Pokeball was sent to Professor Oak's lab. Ash thanked Naomi and then He and Lillie were back on Pidgeot.
"Next stop, Mt Silver," Ash ordered and they were off.
Meanwhile, in Alola, Marnie and Chloe watched as Faba was taken away by the police. Faba had been trying to look into alternate dimensions, hoping to find out a reason why Lillie would have run away to see that boy: Ash. Faba was not a fan of the Pallet Town native and while searching for assistance to find out why Lillie left had seen two of his counterparts die. One was at the hands of a teenager using three swords, while the other was reduced to nothing by a golden-haired man wearing armor. After seeing alternate dimensions, Chloe ordered Yamper to destroy the machine using Spark. Faba tried to attack the two girls, but his Alakazam was defeated by a surprise Seed Bomb from Ash's Rowlet (who revealed that he had followed the girls as he did not trust Faba either.) His Hypno was defeated quickly by Marnie's ace partner Grimsnarl. Marnie revealed she was currently ranked 49 in The World Coronation Series. She was curious why Chloe was so adamant about the machine being destroyed. Chloe said if Marnie wanted the full answer to that question, she would have to meet Ash. Marnie quickly told her brother she was going to Kanto, so she could hear the full story and she wanted to meet Ash, a trainer who one of her brother's fellow Gym Leaders Bea had spoken very highly of.
Lusamine and Professor Cerise had just finished talking about the Darkrai mission when the lab received a video call from Professor Kukui for Lusamine. Kukui told her and Gladion (who had been listening to the conversation) that Faba had been arrested.
"ARRESTED?!" Gladion and Lusamine shouted stunned.
"Yes, and it was Chloe and her new friend that brought Faba in."
"CHLOE!?" Professor Cerise and his assistants were stunned as were Lusamine and Gladion.
"What was Faba after," Lusamine asked with a hard look on her face. If Faba was responsible for Lillie running away she would make sure that Faba would get a lot more than a fine from the cops.
"He was looking into alternate dimensions," Kukui answered. Seeing Gladion's hands go towards Silvally's Pokeball Kukui quickly said, "it was NOT related to Ultra Beasts. Apparently, according to Marnie, Faba witnessed two alternate versions of himself die. She said that Faba saw Ash present at both of his counterparts' deaths so he assumed the Ash of those 2 universes hired the two that did it.
"Ash would never do something like that even with all that Faba had probably done in those universes," Lusamine said defending her daughter's more than likely boyfriend/lover.
"I know but this has me thinking"
"What if something from another universe spooked Lillie to go to Ash maybe a glimpse of what happened there via a nightmare," Lusamine finished Kukui's thought. Kukui nodded at Lusamine's correct assumption of what he was thinking. "How much room does Chloe have on her team?"
"She only has Eevee," Cerise said inserting himself into the conversation.
"Maybe she should bring Ash's Alolan team here to Kanto just in case Faba somehow weasels himself out of prison," Lusamine suggested. "Also, if possible can you send videotapes of what happened in those alternate universes?"
"Negative Faba shut down the video cameras," Kukui told Lusamine.
"Of course, he did," Gladion spat angrily.
"I think moving Ash's Alolan team to Kanto is a smart idea. We have plenty of room in the park," Cerise said. Kukui nodded and hung up the call to set up the preparations.
Ash and Lillie had arrived on Mt. Silver. "So what Pokémon are going after this time, Ash?"
"I'm planning to catch the Larvitar that hatched from the egg I received from The Marine Pokémon Lab." Lillie's eyes widened. "The reason I didn't catch him before is that the egg had been stolen by three idiotic poachers, plus even if I did have him join I don't think he would have been comfortable battling in The Silver Conference. He was too shy and the crowds would have intimidated him." Lillie nodded in understanding.
Suddenly Ash was tackled by a green blur. Lillie was ready to let out Houndour and Snowy, but Ash was laughing. "Larvitar it's good to see you." Lillie's jaw dropped Ash was holding Larvitar easily, with one arm.
"ASH HOW ARE YOU CARRYING HIM LIKE THAT? HE WEIGHS OVER 150 Lbs.," Lillie exclaimed in shock. She knew her boyfriend was strong but this blew her mind.
"Really?" He turned to Larvitar realizing he was a lot heavier than when they traveled together. Wow, you have gotten heavier, and I bet you're stronger too,"

"Speaking of your mother where is she?"
Lar lar Larvitar LARVITAR LAR (Hold on a second. HEY MOM ASH IS HERE)
Ash and Lillie heard a roar. Lillie held on to Ash's arm in fear. She had heard stories of how fierce wild Tyranitar could be. Soon Lavitar's mother stood in front of them. Lillie noticed the scar on its chest. That's a huge scar.
Tyranitar smiled at Ash. Ash explained the situation to Larvitar and its mother who were angry at what happened to Ash and Lillie's counterparts. Larvitar's anger grew more when he heard Misty and Brock did nothing to help in the nightmare. Larvitar quickly agreed to join to fight the nightmare verse should it show up. Ash quickly caught him and Larvitar was sent to Oak's Lab. Ash promised Tyranitar that her son would be safe. With that done Tyranitar left.
"So where are we going next Ash?" Before Ash could answer his girlfriend two Pokemon appeared in front of them. One of them was a white equine Pokémon resembling a centaur with a gray, vertically-striated underside. The striated pattern had similar recurrences on the underside of its mane, tail, and face. Its four pointed feet were tipped with gold hooves. Its long mane jutted away from its head, and its face was gray, with green eyes and red pupils, and a green circular pattern below its eyes. It also had a streak of gold coloration on its head, and ears that point upward. Its neck was fairly long, with two pairs of extrusions to the sides, and a flap-like feature on the neck's underside that is colored white like much of the body. It also had a golden cross-like wheel attached to its body by its round abdomen.
The other Pokemon had a birdlike body stylized after a plane. Its long neck stretches forward from its squat body. It has no legs, usually floating instead. The rear half of its body is largely red and the upper half white, with jet-plane wings high on its rear and fins on the bottom near its tail. A blue triangle marks the center of its chest, while a red mask partially covers its face. Ear-like fins sit on top of its head and its eyes are yellow. It has short, three-fingered arms with a red covering on the outer side of the lower arms.
Ash's eyes widened "Latias and Arceus?"
Latias quickly flew over and hugged Ash. Lillie was a little annoyed at this. "Relax Lillie I'm not gonna steal him from you." Everyone's eyes except for Arceus' opened in shock.
"YOU CAN TALK?"
Latias giggled "Yep Bianca taught me."
Arceus cleared his throat. "Greetings Chosen One." Ash and Pikachu facepalmed while Lillie's eyes widened in shock.
"I FELL IN LOVE WITH ARCEUS' CHOSEN ONE," Lillie screamed stunned.
Ash turned towards Lillie and placed his arm around his girlfriend bringing her close. "Lillie please relax, I'm just a normal person who just happens to be blessed by the god of all Pokémon." He kissed her forehead which caused Lillie to blush and she calmed down. "So Arceus what brings you here?"
Arceus went on to explain that the nightmare Lillie had was just that, a nightmare. "You mean it won't ever show up?" Lillie was in tears of happiness. Arceus confirmed it, causing Lillie to squeal and hug Ash, who returned it.
Arceus cleared his throat again. "Now that we have clarified that that nightmare was just that, there is one last thing that must be taken care of." Ash, Lillie, and Pikachu were curious. Their jaws dropped when Latias tapped a Pokeball on Lillie's belt and was sucked inside and Lillie's Rotom phone said that Latias had registered to Lillie's Pokedex.
"I/YOU CAPTURED A LEGENDARY?" Ash and Lillie shouted in unison hardly believing this turn of events.
Arceus smiled "With this, I bid you adieu Chosen One and his soulmate." Arceus teleported away.
Ash and Lillie blushed at being called soulmates. "Let's head back to the lab." Lillie nodded, still a little shocked about Latias joining her team.
Goh, Marnie, and Chloe had returned to Kanto. Chloe had all of Ash's Alolan team. (minus Naganadel) "I can't believe you did something so risky following that guy Chloe, Goh said annoyed. "What would have happened if he had hurt you."
"I don't need you to babysit me, Goh," Chloe huffed annoyed.
Marnie giggled, "So how long have you two been dating?"
Goh and Chloe blushed hard. "WE ARE NOT A COUPLE!" Morpeko, Eevee, and Grookey were laughing at the two's denial. Yamper was confused at the outburst tilting its head.
Suddenly the trio heard "CHLOE." They turned and saw Mrs. Cerise running towards them. Before Chloe could call out 'Mom', Mrs. Cerise had embraced her into a hug. "Young lady, what were you thinking? We have heard what that man Faba has done in the past." Chole tried to speak but her mother pressed on. "You should have spoken to either Kukui or his wife. I have half a mind to ground you for the rest of the summer, but I won't. Instead, you will be sticking with Ash, Lillie, and Goh on any research trips they go on until I or your father say so."
"Great" Chloe muttered. Then something her mom said registered. "Wait how do you know about Faba?"
"That would be from me," a voice said from behind the group. The group turned and saw Lusamine walking towards them. This is Lillie's mom/the Aether Foundation's President Goh and Marine thought. Chloe knew what was coming and gulped. Oh boy, I thought Lana and Mallow's questioning was bad. This is gonna be even worse.
Lusamine walked over to Chloe and Marnie. "I thank you both for stopping Faba."
Marnie shook her head. "No problem, no I just want to know the full story." She turned to Chloe who chuckled nervously.
Lusamine nodded her head, "as do I but I would rather hear the situation from my daughter and her boyfriend. I also want to know how long they have kept their relationship secret from me." Chloe was about to ask why when Lusamine answered the unasked question. "I LOST VALUABLE TIME I COULD HAVE USED TO PREPARE THEIR WEDDING." Chloe and Goh fell over at this while Marnie and Mrs. Cerise had to stifle their laughter.
Hours later, Ash and Lillie were now back in Vermillion City. Ash's Team was Pikachu, Butterfree, Houndour, Larvitar, Lapras, and Primeape. Lillie's team was Snowy, Houndour, the pink Butterfree, Altaria, and Latias. "Ready to head back to the lab." Lillie nodded. Suddenly Ash felt his backpack get heavier. He removed it and he, Pikachu, and Lillie were stunned.
"ROWLET/PIKA," the trio shouted stunned. Now sleeping in Ash's backpack was his Grass/Flying owl. What is Rowlet doing here? Before they could question this Chloe ran up to them. She explained that Faba had tried to communicate with alternate dimensions. Despite knowing that the nightmare was not capable of showing up Lillie was still nervous about what Faba could have been looking for. Chloe explained that she and her new friend Marnie defeated Faba and he was arrested. Kukui thought it would be best for Ash's Alolan team to be moved to Kanto. Ash was happy to have his Championship team in Kanto.
Lillie however was not happy. "Chloe, what were you thinking? I know you were trying to help protect me and Ash but Faba has done some extremely dangerous things. Next time BE MORE CAREFUL!" Chloe blinked she had never heard Lillie act like that. Maybe that nightmare woke up her maternal instincts.
Ash decided to take charge of the situation. "All right we've all had a long day. Let's head back to the lab." Chloe gave a deep sigh. Ash your 'long' day isn't over yet. Lillie released her Houndour who quickly became fast friends with Yamper. Twenty minutes later the group arrived at the lab.
Lillie was happy to be back at the lab. "I can't wait for a nice dinner and a shower," she said as she opened the door. Suddenly she heard a familiar squeal.
"Lillie my precious little girl. How are you?" Lillie felt herself being engulfed in a hug by one of the last people she expected to see at the moment.
"M-MOTHER?"
And there's Chapter 4 done. Boy, this took longer than I thought it would. Anyway, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas (or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa) and a Happy New Year.
