"Hi Stefan?" I say as he steps towards Elena and I.
"Stefan, what are you doing here?" Asks Elena in disbelief.
Shaking his head Stefan responds "I could ask you the same question."
"Caroline told you." Announces Elena
"No, she kept your secret but it didn't take long for me to figure out what was the important that you'd have to keep it from me. And you brought Annie into it."
"I knew you would stop me and we wanted answers."
Jumping into the conversation I say "But only one of use got them!"
Ignoring me Stefan says "Listen to me, whatever she said to you is a lie. Do not listen to her. She's a liar, Elena."
"What if she isn't? You didn't hear what she said."
As the two continue to argue I hear small footsteps from behind. Turning I see that Katherine has approached the seal.
"There's nothing you can do, Stefan. I haven't even told you the best part of the story." She says as the two stare at her in disbelief.
"He killed them, my entire family, just to get back at me for running. Whatever you do to escape Klaus, he will get his vengeance on your friends, your family and anyone that you've ever loved."
Stefan grabs Elena's arms and turns her towards his as he says "No, look at me. No, do not listen to her, okay?"
"Always the protector but even you must realize that she's doomed. There's nothing you can do to stop it unless of course you have this."
In that moment Katherine pulls out the moonstone and waves it towards us.
Mason gave her the moonstone.
"Oh no, there it is. It's the ultimate lie, isn't it? You spun this whole thing so that we would have to get the stone from you, didn't you?" Accuses Stefan.
"I didn't spin anything, Stefan. It's the truth."
"No, let me guess. You want to trade that stone for your freedom, you manipulative, psychotic bitch."
"My freedom? That's where you're wrong, Stefan. I don't want my freedom because when Klaus shows up to kill us all and he will, I'll be in the tomb, where no vampire will enter because they can't get out. I'll be the safest psychotic bitch in town." States Katherine as she retreats back into the tomb.
Turning towards Elena and Stefan I say "Well for a self-proclaimed psychotic bitch she does have a thing for dramatics."
They both look at me in shock before Stefan leads the two of us out of the tomb and back into the forest.
"Look Elena this discovery mission was a bit of a bust I am going to head home." I tell them before heading off.
That night I find Tye hanging out in his room.
"Hey Tye, do you have a minute to chat" Looking up at me from his bed he nods and tuns his music off.
"Yeah, what's up Annie?"
Stepping into his room I make my way over to his desk and sit in the chair.
No way I am sitting on that bed, shudder.
"How are you since Mason left? Is there anything you want to talk about?" looking at me in confusion he shakes his head "Everything is good Annie… Why?"
"I don't know. I guess I have just been thinking about everything Mason told us about the family curse."
"Okay. But why Annie. It isn't going to happen so just forget about it."
Standing up I step towards him "But what if it does Tye! Just because you don't want it to happen doesn't mean it won't!"
"God Annie. Just forget about it and leave it alone!" Tye yells at me.
"Fine. Just remember that I have the same curse Tye."
Turning I walk out of his room and slam his door. Once I am back in my room I lean against my door.
Why couldn't life just be easy. First this weirdness with Elijah, then getting no answers, now Tye triggered his curse and hasn't told me.
A couple days later I get a call from Bonnie, "Hey Bonnie what's up?"
"Hey Annie, I need your help."
"Okay? With what?" sitting up in my bed I feel my curiosity rise.
"Damon and Stefan need me to take the tomb spell down so that they can get the moonstone from Katherine. And… After what happened with Grams, I don't think I can do it alone."
"Of course I will help you, Bonnie. Where and when."
"Ten minutes at the boarding house?" After hanging up I take a moment and think to myself, this had better not kill either of us.
At the boarding house I meet up with Bonnie, Stefan, Damon, and surprisingly Jeremy.
"Between the two of us we should be able to lower the spell long enough for you two to et the moonstone and get out." Bonnie tells the brothers.
"How? Last time it took three of you, including your grams." Responds Jeremy in confusion.
Looking towards me Bonnie says "We have both learned some new tricks."
As I nod in agreement, I hear Bonnie ask "how will you get it?"
"She hasn't been feeding. She's weaker. We're not." Says Stefan as Damon raises a glass towards us which appears to be full of blood.
"You wouldn't be underestimating her, would you?" Asks Bonnie with concern.
"It's a plan. Is it perfect? What plan is?" Scoffs Damon in response.
"Let me do it. I've got my ring. I can get in, get out, no spells necessary." Begs Jeremy.
"Gee, thanks, you 16-year-old child. Why didn't we think about that? Why are you even here?" Questions Damon as he looks over Jeremy.
Stepping forward Bonnie tells them "Maybe I can help better the plan. Do you have anything that belongs to Katherine?"
Once Stefan returned with a belonging of Katherines, magic lessons with Bonnie began.
"This will knock Katherine out for hopefully 5ish minutes, maybe more if she hasn't been feeding and is weak." Bonnie tells me.
"Okay but how does it work with no spell?"
"Sometimes magic doesn't need a spell Annie, remember that."
As I nod my head and study the concoction, I notice Jeremy and Bonnie whispering. "Alright Annie lets pack this up and go." Says Bonnie as she turns away from Jeremy.
"Here, I got this, okay? Go get me, um, go get me something to put this in. All right?" Says Jeremy as he steps towards us. Smiling at Jeremy Bonnie nods and motions for me to follow her.
Before going to the tomb Bonnie and I stopped at her house to grab her grimoire, then headed towards the tomb.
As we approach the entrance, I spot Stefan and Damon, "Sorry we are late. We had to grab the grimoire from home." Announces Bonnie.
"Jeremy couldn't take the pressure, huh?" Sneers Damon.
Giving him a look of annoyance Bonnie respond "he said he would be here."
I see Stefan step towards the stairs and I take the opportunity "Regardless, lets go get this done."
Following Stefan down the stairs I hear Bonnie sigh and follow. Once we reach the bottom of the stairs, we notice Damon did not follow "I will go check" announces Stefan.
Nodding I start to look around and notice a shiny object on the ground, The moonstone.
Before I can say anything out loud Stefan makes his way back down the stairs "Damon had to leave and go check on some stuff. It is just the three of us."
Letting out a sigh Bonnie nods. "Well on the bright side the moonstone is right there." I say as I point towards it.
From the tomb entrance I hear a shuffling. Looking up I see Katherine with blood Dripping from her mouth.
"I hate to interrupt, but today has just been full of surprises."
From beside me I see Bonnie and Stefan look towards her. Suddenly Katherine moves and pulls Jeremy out from the shadows. Jeremy with a large bite mark on his neck. Stefan rushes forwards but sops before the spell and Bonnie and I look on in shock and horror.
"I'm sorry. I took some powder." Whispers Jeremy.
Smirking towards us Katherine announces "Don't worry, I know that he's wearing his ring, so no matter how many times I kill him, he'll just keep coming back for more. So, I'm going to be in the back playing with my new little toy. And you guys just give me a holler when you've got the tomb open."
She shoves Jeremy back into the tomb before making her way deeper into the tomb.
"Where the hell is Damon? You can't go in there alone!" I tell Stefan who has started pacing.
"We can't wait, we have to get him out of there." Says Bonnie with panic clear in her voice.
"Annie might be right, she's fed, she has her strength back."
Shaking her head Bonnie walks towards Stefan and hands him the envelope with ash in it.
"We still have what's left of the ash. Do you think you can get close enough?"
As Stefan looks between the two us, he takes the envelope and announces "I don't have a choice."
"It is going to take some time to get you in. Annie and I will be as quick as possible." Says Bonnie.
"Just get me in there as soon as you can." Responds Stefan as he continues his pacing.
Bonnie and I take our seats in front of the entrance with her grimoire in front of her. As I glance towards Bonnie's hand, I notice her holding a necklace of some sort in her hand farthest from me. Before I can ask about it, she grabs my hand closest to her and nods at me.
"Ready?"
After giving her a nod in return Bonnie says "just remember Annie focus on pulling power from a source. Find it and pull."
As Bonnie closes her eyes and begins to chant, I close my own and search.
Power. Find it. Pull.
Turning inward I focus on my necklace as I feel the magic seeping out. After a minute or two I feel the flow of power just stop. Opening my eyes I look around and notice Bonnie laying on the ground with blood dripping from her nose and Stefan trying to wake her up.
"Bonnie!"
Rushing to her I see her eyes flutter open, "Oh my god Bonnie. Are you okay?" I ask her.
As Stefan helps her up, she says with clear disappointment "It didn't work. I'm not strong enough. Even with help, I can't do it."
From the tomb I her a mocking voice say "Ahhh, that's too bad, I'm still hungry."
Looking towards the voice I see Katherine pinning Jeremy to the wall and is about to bite him again. Suddenly Jeremy is being pushed away from Katherine towards Bonnie and I. And Stefan, Stefan is restraining Katherine against the same wall. As Bonnie goes to Jeremy I look towards Katherine and Stefan. Stefan looks resigned as Katherine gives him a smug smirk.
Almost as though this is what she actually wanted.
After the mishap with the tomb spell I make my way home in hopes of chatting with Tye. As I look around the house, I find myself alone, again. With a sigh, I make my way to my room only to stop in my tracks as I see the back of a figure standing in the middle of my room. Before I can make any move the figure rushes towards me and pulls me into the room while shutting my door. Glancing up towards the figures faces, Elijah.
Pushing away form him I ask "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Making sure you are okay. Is that a problem?"
Flashing him a look of annoyance I say "are you seriously asking me that?"
Shaking his head he holds his hand out, "come here."
As I shake my head at him and cross my arms, he tells me "We can do this the easy way or the hard way, Ms. Lockwood."
Oh for fucks sake.
"Fine" I announce as I step towards him and take his hand.
He pulls me closer to him and quickly bites him other wrist and holds it up to my mouth.
As I shake my head at him, he says "do it and I will answer a question or two."
Instantly I comply and drink a few sips of his offered blood. Once I do he allows me to pull away as I wipe my mouth with my shirt sleeve. Ugh, gross.
"Why did you call me made for a Mikaelson?"
Before he responds he lets out a quick laugh "Straight to the point I see. I can't tell you everything yet but what I can tell you is that your fate has been long entwined with the Mikaelsons, specifically one member."
"Nik?" I ask.
As he give me a look of confusion he asks "Now where did you here that name?"
I take a deep breath and look around as I think about how to answer him. "I-I get these dreams, have for years, and the other night he said his name was Nik. He also seemed to know who you are."
Elijah steps towards me and grab my shoulder in one motion. "Listen to me carefully Annie. Nik is not to be trusted. When he comes and he will, be cautious around him. Your life might be entwined with his but he is unpredictable."
"What does that even mean Elijah?"
Shaking his head he steps away from me. "I had said enough for tonight. I will come back in a few nights to feed you more blood. Don't fight me on this, it will help keep you safe in case something happens."
I give him a short nod knowing I am not prepared to fight a vampire as strong as him and as I do, he uses his speed and leaves the house.
Wait who invited him in?
