Another New Years celebration had gone by in Landsol. The gourmet guild had spent the eve running food stands and selling little New Years knick-knacks for the younger ones participating in the event.

After the countdown and firework celebration, the guild made their way back to their house.

"Man, I'm exhausted." Kyaru said, finding a seat on Yuuki's bed. Yuuki had agreed to give the catgirl a foot massage as she stated her feet were killing her from walking around in the Geta's. Yuuki began by massaging the sole of her foot, and making his way up to her toes.

"Man…this feels pretty nice actually. THat said, don't do anything weird to my feet."

"I know, I know. Doing so would cause you to hit me or attack me with your magic."

"Well…he's not wrong." she thought to herself.

As Yuuki continued to massage her feet, Kyaru couldn't help but think back on past events that had happened that year. Things such as Yuuki's triple header valentine date, his battle with a peeping tom, and him being reported to have been seen hanging out with Nozomi on Christmas eve (at least according to her paparazzi's) all stuck out in her mind. There was also something that he told her a long time ago.

"I like everyone."

"How do your feet feel?"

"Huh? Oh…sorry, did you say something?"

"I was just asking how your feet felt."

"Oh…they feel better now, thank you Yuuki."

"You're welcome," he said with a smile.

In spite of her feet no longer hurting, Kyaru still looked as though something was wrong. Yuuki could see it on her face, and ask if everything was OK.

"Well…I was just thinking…for the New Year, can you make me a promise?"

"Sure."

Kyaru lightly hit Yuuki on the head after he said that.

"At least hear what I have to say before agreeing to it, dummy! Anyway, I want you to promise me that you'll…s-s-support me this year."

"Support you?" Yuuki said, cocking his head to the side.

"Basically, be there for me when I'm feeling down, or sad, or afraid. I know I'm asking a lot but…when you're there for me…it means a lot."

Kyaru's head was facing the ground at this point, and her words at the end of the sentence started to trail off.

"It's a big promise…but I don't want to let you down Kyaru. You've done so much for us and gone through so much…" Yuuki said.

"There you go with the compliments…though to be fair I do like when you do that…" Kyaru said with a smile. "One more thing, is it alright if I sleep with you tonight?"

"Um…sure." Yuuki said, a bit taken back by the request. It reminded him a lot of when Kyaru was OK with him sleeping in the same bed as her during their quest in the desert. Using his bathroom, Yuuki got changed into his PJ's, while Kyaru still stayed in her Kimono from the night.

"And yes Kyaru, I promise not to do anything suspicious to you." Yuuki said as he got into bed.

"It's not me who's worried about you doing something to me tonight." Kyaru said, before moving her body onto Yuuki's chest. She grabbed the boy's face and kissed him deeply, much to his surprise.

"It's me who's worried I'm going to do something suspicious to you tonight…" Kyaru said, blushing bright red.

Yuuki wanted to say "if it's you, I don't mind", but didn't want to ruin the mood, nor push his luck. He did make sure to wrap his arms around Kyaru in a hug before dozing off that night.

After all, he is a princess knight…
