(A/N): Hey Guys! So, I'm currently in Maths, I just had an algebra test- not fun. As you know, I haven't been at school for a while, I have literally been here ONCE since we started algebra, but with only a few corrections ont he test, I'm doing pretty well I guess.
Disclaimer: I own nothing you recognise.
Leo
"What?!" The thing that saved me from answering Shari's outburst, however, was something I dreaded.
"Does anyone else smell humans?" My father asked with his arms crossed over his chest and eyes still locked on me, though I could see the worried glint in them. My own eyes flicked toward Jo and Danniel.
"They can't be here- not now, not near them."
My father hesitated for a bare second before nodding. "Jo, Danniel, get out of here for a few hours; go hunt." They looked a little surprised, but seeing the look on his face, they fled the scene as quickly as they could. "Leo, stall them; give Jo and Danniel time to get out of the area." I frowned at the cold edge in his voice but nodded nonetheless, launching myself from my tree to the next and then the next, until I was soaring through the forest, nearing my group of friends. Just as I reached them I jumped from the tree, landing lightly in the path in front of them.
"Leo!" Remus exclaimed, grinning in relief before launching himself at me for a hug; he didn't quite reach me though, instead jerking his head and body backward suddenly. "You stink." Sirius cocked an eyebrow, smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Remus, now is not the time to remark on his personal hygiene." Remus rolled his eyes.
"No, he stinks like vampires." The others froze and I bit my lip, thankful that they had thought not to bring Lily or Peter with them.
"Now isn't a good time for you guys to be here." Elaine hesitated for a second, and James took her place.
"Well, tough! We're here, and we want answers!" He paused for a second, glancing back at Sirius. "Apparently." I glared at Sirius.
"Not of concern."
He stared at me for a second, crossing his arms over his chest. "How is it 'not of concern', Leo?! You were at a ball! With your mother!" Elaine's eyebrows shot up.
"Your mother?" I sighed, cocking my head at him and ignoring Elaine as completely as I could.
"Fine, not of your concern." Remus moved forward, nose scrunched, to place a hand on my shoulder.
"Leo, look-" I cut him off.
"Trust me, guys, I can handle this myself- and believe me, I have enough trouble without my mother." I rolled my eyes in the direction of the house.
"Two vampires getting on your nerves?" James said sympathetically, though he knew very little of what it was like.
"Five vampires now." They all looked- and smelled- surprised.
"Wait, Lisbet... and who else?" Elaine asked and I shrugged, trying to avoid the subject even though I knew I couldn't.
"Recruits."
Sirius frowned at me. "Recruits? For what?" Remus sighed.
"Leo is convinced there's a war coming." Sirius didn't look worried anywhere near as worried by this statement as he should.
"There is a war coming," Shari told them, dropping out of a tree. "Though Leo probably shouldn't have told you that." She glared at me and I flashed her a weak smile.
"We have as much right to know as anyone," James reasoned, and Shari shrugged.
"Then again, Leo's doing a lot of things he shouldn't lately."
"Let it go, Shari," I groaned.
"You should have told us before you won against me."
I chuckled, cocking an eyebrow at her. "Is that what this is about? You're mad because I beat you in a fight?" She glared at me, arms crossed over her chest.
"No! I'm angry because you let me think I could win!" We stared at each other for a minute before she had apparently had enough and launched herself into the treetop again.
"What was that about?" Elaine asked in a small voice and I sighed, turning to face her.
"Nothing. It's nothing."
