(A/N): Hey Guys! Here's the next chapter, yes, I know it's short, I'm sorry, but I hope you enjoy it either way.

Disclaimer: I own nothing you recognise.

Leo

I spent the rest of the sorting, and the feast, in silence; as soon as Dumbledore excused us I was out of there, before my friends had the chance to say anything. While I was sat on the roof of the astronomy tower, however, I heard footsteps approaching, so I hid behind the crest of the roof until a figure appeared. They froze as their gaze met mine in the darkness, and I could smell the fear on them... along with something else.

"Who is it? Who's there?" I stared at her for a second before moving out from behind the roof.

"You know, I knew there was something strange about you," I told her, moving until I was only a few feet away- appropriate conversation distance, but still out of reach for attack.

"What are you?" She asked, and I raised an eyebrow.

"Me? What are you?" We stared each other down, neither one wanting to give in.

"Half-vampire."

(A/N): See, the reason I did it like this, is because now you don't know which person said it, until you go to the next chapter. Which, would have been all good, except the next chapter will already be up when you read this, so, no cliffhanger.

So, have I listened to the suggestions in your reviews, or have I just made Leo confess his heritage to a complete stranger?

This chapter has had edits made to it on 7/2/25 - formatting and reconfiguring of sentences. Short chapter, short edit time. Added Leo saying he could smell fear on them 'along with something ELSE', and added Leo saying that the distance he kept was appropriate conversation distance, but still out of reach for attack (I would like to note that his arms are longer than most people's, especially this person, so it's sort of up for interpretation as to whether he means he's far enough away that they can't attack him, but he can still attack them, or if he's far enough away to reassure them that he can't attack THEM without taking a step forward).
