(A/N): Hey Guys! So, here's the next chapter, the answer to the cliffhanger - not so much- and other things!
Disclaimer: I own nothing you recognise.
I stared at Dahrya dubiously. "I highly doubt that." She rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Fine, don't believe me then; either way, I'm telling the truth."
I studied her briefly before frowning. "You have an unreasonable amount of attitude for a first year." She glared at me.
"And you have an unreasonable amount of boring for a boring." I smiled slightly.
"Anger in the face of danger, good instincts," I told her, and her glare intensified.
"I'm not in any danger." I rolled my eyes at her.
"How do you think I got up here?" She frowned, hesitating. "I'm half-vampire, too." She stared at me, obviously uncertain.
"I've never met another half-vampire before..." She admitted.
"Neither have I." I paused. "Do you ever have problems with other vampires?" She looked confused, so I took that as a no.
"Do you?" I nodded and shrugged.
"My dad must have run the 'I just had sex' gong." She tried her hardest not to giggle, I could tell, but she couldn't hide her amusement completely.
"What do they do?"
I winced, rubbing the back of my neck somewhat sheepishly, feeling like I was complaining to a teacher about the other kids bullying me in the yard. "Mostly, they call me a half-breed. Sometimes... Sometimes they attack me." Her eyes widened, and I backtracked. "But not all of them! And they don't even know you exist, Dahrya, so you're safe!" She looked only slightly reassured. "We should go to bed," I said, and she shook her head.
"I came out here for a reason, Leo, I need to be by myself for a minute. Go to your friends, I'll be fine."
I watched her for a second before nodding, and leaving her to make my way back to the Gryffindor common room. "Don't do that," Elaine scolded, her voice deathly flat as I entered the room, and I rolled my eyes.
"Yes, Shari." Remus chucked a book at my head, but I caught it.
"Stop it," He said. "Where'd you go?" I shrugged, handing him the book back as I sat next to him on the couch.
"Astronomy tower," I told them truthfully- no point in lying... about that part, anyway.
"Why?" Elaine asked, and I shook my head.
"I don't know, it felt weird to be inside for a while."
Remus nodded, looking at me from over his book. "I get that, sometimes. It just feels..." He trailed off.
"Dead," I finished for him, and he nodded.
"Yeah, dead; it feels dead." Elaine glanced between the both of us.
"And what?" You just sat there?" I shrugged, not telling them anything, but also not lying either. I laid down, putting my head in Remus's lap, and Elaine cradled herself between my legs, laid her head on my chest, and put one hand in mind and one in Remus's. He continued to read his book while I stroked Elaine's hair with my free hand, smiling down at her even though I knew she couldn't see it, grateful to just be able to relax with my two best friends for once.
(A/N): So what did you think?
Okay, one: Another half-vampire! Two: Leo finally referred to Elaine and Remus as his TWO BEST FRIENDS. As in, more so than Lily! YISSS

This chapter has had edits made to it on 19/2/25 - formatting and reconfiguring of sentences. Changed 'sass' to 'attitude'. Changed Leo's 'nice touch' to 'good instincts', and had Remus throw a book at Leo instead of a chocolate bar, because I'm phasing out the 'Remus luvs chocolate' trope.
