(A/N): Hey Guys! So, this chapter's fairly short... but surprises! Yay! Also, I recently (like, just then) entered Leo as an OC in a RP thing here on , so yeah.

Disclaimer: I own nothing you recognise.

Elaine

After James and Sirius had left for Quidditch practice, Leo rejoined us, with Brooke.

Other than the whole, 'she's dating my crush' thing, I didn't actually mind Brooke.

Until I noticed the dark red mark near her collar bone, that is.

I pursed my lips, gritted my teeth and crossed my arms, all in an attempt to hold my tongue.

Luckily, Lily had noticed it as well, and mentioned it for me.

"Erm... you've got a..." She said, gesturing to where the mark would be on her own neck, and Brooke's hand flew to cover it, though I saw Remus's eyes widen as he, too, noticed it.

"Oh..." Brooke said, blushing, before getting up and running to the girls dormitories.

"Leo!" Lily, the only one of us who seemed excited, exclaimed.

"Why mention it?" he asked, wincing, and Lily grinned.

"Oh, I'm sorry, but my best friend's first girlfriend has a hickey. Excuse me for being excited." She said, and Leo rolled his eyes.

"It's really not that big of a deal." He reminded her, and Brooke plonked down on the couch again, scarf at her neck as she curled against Leo's side.

"So, Brooke, what do your parents think about you dating Leo?" Remus asked, and I winced at the wording.

"My dad hasn't met him yet." Was all she said, and it seemed to dawn on Remus that he had forgotten about the fact that Brooke's mother was dead.

"And Leo, what do your parents think?" He asked, trying to hide the slip.

"My dad reacted much the same as Sirius actually, and my mother hates Brooke, always had." Lily raised an eyebrow.

"Well that's a plus." I murmured, and Leo grinned at me.

"Why is that a plus?" Lily inquired, and we all looked at each other.

"Leo and his mother don't exactly see eye to eye." Brooke explained, and Lily shook her head.

"I know that, she disowned him." Leo stiffened at this. "But why is that a plus?" Remus shrugged, opening his mouth to speak, but Leo cut him off.

"Because she's the devil incarnated?" He asked rhetorically, leaving Lily to blink in surprise.

"Well, why do you keep likening her to Elaine's dad?" I shrunk back, glaring at everything.

"Because my father is literally Satan?" Lily now looked surprised.

"What? Why?" She seemed genuinely confused, and I took a deep breath.

"Because he used to abuse my mother, my brother and I."

(A/N): So, what did you think?
