(A/N): Hey Guys! So, this chapter is 800 and something words without the author's note, and it's a split PoV, Leo and then Elaine. I did notice though, that I originally had it as Elaine's PoV, but a few lines in I swapped to Sirius's PoV by accident, and I had to rectify that just now, so if you notice something like that, that's what it is.

Disclaimer: I own nothing your recognise.

Leo

I was bewildered when I woke up in a bed in the Hospital Wing with Madam Pomfrey leaning over me. As her eyes met mine, fear jolted through my body, and I moved-a split second later, I was clinging to the rafter high above the bed, and when I glanced down, I was confused to see little scarlet drops flecking the ground. "What?" I whispered, and Madam Pomfrey looked up at me.

"If you don't come down here, I will strap you down," She threatened in an utterly calm tone, and I dropped somewhat ungracefully to the ground without so much as a single thought.

"Whose blood is that?" I asked, eyes fixed on it in slight horror, and she carefully grabbed my wrist.

"Yours, Leo," She said, flipping my arm so I could see the gash running halfway up my forearm; my stomach turned at the sight of blood on my skin, before I realised there was a wound beneath it, which meant it was mine- the realisation only made my stomach calm a little bit.

"Wh- How?" I questioned flatly, and she bent down to retrieve something from the ground.

"You ripped the needle out. Now get back in bed, I haven't finished flushing your system."

Obediently, I crawled into the bed again and allowed her to stick another needle in my other arm, barely feeling it when she did. "What happened?" She pursed her lips, and took pity on me.

"Your mother entered a mix of herbs called spharmus into your system. Using it, she controlled you, making you attack your friends." My eyebrows shot up, and I immediately glanced around the room, searching for them. "They're fine, Leo. I fixed up Mr Black's broken nose and concussion, and you didn't get the chance to harm the others." Relieved, I let my eyelids flutter shut, thanked whichever gods might be willing to listen, and almost without warning, I fell asleep sitting up against my pillows.

Elaine

Sirius had joined Remus, Peter, Lily, James, and I in the Gryffindor common room a little while after the incident, and we asked him about his encounter with Leo's not so pretty side. Well... it was still pretty, but definitely far less pleasant.

"He said 'sometimes you little miscreants are too smart for your own good', and then he knocked me out! Seriously-" The fact he skipped this opportunity for a pun showed just how worked up he was. "-who calls people 'miscreants' nowadays?" He exclaimed, before glancing around at the rest of us. "You guys don't look too bad, what'd he do to you?" We hesitated for a second.

"He grabbed me by the throat." I narrowed my eyes at him, knowing he knew that meant it was something I couldn't say around Lily, and the memory of Leo's hand- usually so gentle- squeezing my throat came unbidden into my mind. 'I'm going to make him drain you dry- and you should know that he's going to revel in it.' I could almost feel the hot breath of his words in my ear even now, along with the way my stomach had dropped through the floor with dread. I had imagined Leo tearing open my throat once before- after Jonothan had bitten me- but it simply didn't compare to the reality of Leo- or Leo's voice, at least- telling me he was going to drink me to death, and enjoy doing it. "James and Remus managed to distract him while Lily and Pete got behind him. I guess he wasn't paying attention, because we cursed him long enough for Professor McGonagall to find us." I glanced at the others. "The whole common room saw though." Sirius winced, knowing that the secrecy of Leo's condition was in danger.

"Has anyone said anything?" I shook my head.

"I think McGonagall threatened them or something, because everyone's just acting like it never happened."

Sirius's eyebrows furrowed. "All of them?" James nodded.

"Seriously, all of them." Since it was somewhere around midnight now, the common room was empty, and no one could overhear us.

"What if they say something to Leo about it?"

Remus thought about it for a second, chewing his bottom lip. "Then we kick their arses." We all looked at him seriously for a minute before we burst out laughing.

"No offense, Remus, but you and I aren't exactly the type of guys that 'kick arse'." Remus rolled his eyes at Peter.

"I meant the two Quidditch players and crazy female cage fighters we call friends, Pete." Lily and I raised our eyebrows at him.

"'Cage fighters'?" I questioned, and Remus shrugged.

"Let's face it, I'm more scared of you than I've ever been of Leo, even with what happened earlier." There was a second of awkward silence before someone coughed. Looking up, I saw Leo standing in the portrait hole, and the silence was back, this time because we were both embarrassed and ashamed. "Leo..." Remus started, but Leo cut him off.

"I'm sorry," He blurted, and we stared at him. "For everything I did." He looked nervous as he said this.

"Leo-" He cut me off as well.

"Look, I don't actually know what I did, but I'm so, so, so sorry."

Sirius's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "You don't remember what happened?" Leo shook his head.

"I remember leaving home this morning, then the next thing I know, I'm waking up in the Hospital Wing." I glanced at the others, one eyebrow raised.

"You seriously don't remember anything?" I questioned, and Leo shook his head.

"Not a thing. Minnie and Pomfrey said my mother did it."

Lily shrugged. "Makes sense," She said, and I couldn't help but agree with her.

"This... does seem like something she would do," He said, but he sounded somewhat hesitant, and we all noticed it.

"What's wrong?" He shook his head slowly.

"It just seems like it's too much like something she'd do, you know?"

(A/N): So, what did you think?

I literally have like, four more chapters to upload, so stick around guys!

PS: DaftDruid, how did you see that last chapter so fast?! :D

Please review and/or check out my other stories!

This chapter has had minor edits made to it on 31/12/22 - Misspelt spharmus as 'pharmus', and added what 'Leo' said to Elaine, because I didn't actually say that the first time.

This chapter has had edits made to it on 3/1/25 - Formatting and reconfiguring of sentences. Added Leo's description of him dropping to the ground once asked 'without so much as a single thought'. Added Leo's poor reaction to seeing blood on his skin, before he realised it was his own. Added Elaine's distinction that Leo's bad side was still pretty, but much less pleasant. Added Leo mentioning that Madam Pomfrey told him, because she literally did earlier in this chapter, as well as McGonagall, who I imagine had a conversation/check-in with him before allowing him back around other students. Leo put Minnie first because he trusts her opinion more on this matter- not what happened to him, but who did it to him.
