"Goldar?" Lord Zedd asked from his cold stone throne. What are you doing back already?"
"My Lord," Goldar said bowing to his master, pausing longer than usual. "A strange warrior appeared during the battle and destroyed Bone Crusher."
"WHAT!?" Zedd yelled in furry. His throneroom turned a deep red as his anger grew. "I want a name you gold-plated ninny! Who dares interfere in the business of Lord Zedd!?"
"I...I don't know Master. All I know for sure is he is a skilled fighter and has a strange power and a sword made of green energy."
Zedd growled low in his throat. "And what did this guy look like?"
"All I can say for sure My Lord is that he wore a dark brown cloak."
"I know of no one who wields a green energy sword and wears a cloak. But I swear by all that is evil, Lord Zedd will have his revenge!" Zedd yelled as he slammed his fist down on the balcony's railing.
"Did they say green?" Baboo asked looking at Squatt.
"Uh, yeah," the rotund blue alien answered. "You don't think it could be Tommy do you?"
"WHO?!" Zedd roared causing the pair to cower in the corner they usually hid in.
"Tommy, you know, the green ranger?" Baboo answered holding his hands over his eyes to shield himself from Zedd's furry.
"GOLDAR! THERE ARE MORE OF THOSE PIMPLE-FACED NITWITS AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME!" Zedd roared, lighting shooting from his staff.
"But My Lord, Tommy has no powers," Goldar said cowering before Zedd. "Rita's green candle stripped him of his powers and he left earth.
"Goldar you fool! Do you know how many potential sources of power there are in this galaxy alone!?" Zedd asked. "I better check up on those meddlesome rangers," he added as he sent his ocular beam towards the earth. In his extended vision, he saw the six teens sitting around a table in The Youth Center Laughing amongst themselves. "Green ranger eh? Well, I have something special for you Tommy," Zedd said menacingly as he raised his staff and pointed it toward the earth. "Arise Slythor!" he yelled as white lightning shot from the Z on his staff to earth.
In the African Jungles, Zedd's lightning streaked through the sky and dropped to the ground striking a rhino viper laying in wait for its next meal. Instantly, the venomous snake transformed into a six-foot-tall monster with a long slender body with two legs and arms that need in hands with sharp claw-like fingers. The Slythor laughed evilly as venom dripped from its long narrow fangs. "I can't wait to sink my fangs into those pesky rangers," Slythor said in an eerie silky smooth voice. He then vanished in a swirl of energy made of mixed shades of green, gold, and black. only to re-appear in seconds in Downtown Angel Grove.
"Monster! Monster!" a woman screamed when Slythor appeared. Hearing the woman's scream a member of The Angel Grove Police Department quickly rounded the corner. He took a shocked breath upon seeing the monster and began to fumble with the button on his holster keeping his service Beretta in its holster.
"You gotta be quicker on the draw, Sanchez," a female officer said to her rookie partner as she arrived on the scene a few feet away, weapon raised and ready. Slythor turned toward her and shot a stream of yellow-green venom from its fangs. The venom struck the officer's pistol and it instantly began to corrode. In her shock, she dropped the pistol. Slythor then turned to the first officer, who now had his weapon raised its dark eyes glowed red and the officer was turned to stone.
In The Command Center, the alarms began to blare loudly. "Aye aye aye aye aye! Zordon, Zedd has sent another monster to earth!" Alpha said waving his hands around his head.
"I know Alpha, contact the rangers at once."
"So, Tommy, what's with the beard?" Zack asked before sucking some of his smoothie down a straw.
"I didn't have a razor where I was, and since I've only been back for an hour, you know, just long enough to go home, see if my parents were home, and change into less conspicuous clothes," he answered with a shrug.
"Well, I for one, like it," Kat said with a smile as she leaned slightly forward across the table and closer to Tommy.
"Thanks, Kat, I haven't decided whether or not to keep it yet," he said as he stroked his right cheek with the palm of his left hand.
"You should, it suits you," she said with a smile. Zack, Jason, Billy, and Trini all glanced around the table giving each other knowing looks.
"What?" both Tommy and Kat asked.
"Oh nothing," Jason answered with a smirk in an almost sing-song tone as he gently shook his head. When their communicators sounded the six teens quickly made their way to the entrance alcove, only to be cut off by the sudden appearance of Angel Grove High's dimwitted bullies: Bulk and Skull.
"Where do you think you geeks are going?" Bulk asked.
"Yeah where?" Skull asked drawing an annoyed look from Bulk.
"Can it Pinhead," Bullk said glaring at his friend. Taking advantage of the distraction, the rangers silently slipped past the pair and went outside, and around to the back of the building where they would not be seen.
"We read you Zordon," Jason said into his communicator.
"Rangers, teleport to The Command Center at once. Lord Zedd has begun another attack."
"We're on our way," Jason said before glancing around and seeing they were clear. "Let's go guys," he said before the rangers teleported away.
"Zordon, what's Zedd up to this time?" Kat asked when they landed in front of their mentor.
"Observe the viewing globe," Zordon instructed. The teens turned to look at the crystal ball-like device and images of Zedd's newest monster began to appear.
"Oh man, I hate snakes!" Zack said giving an involuntary shudder.
"My sensors tell me he is called Slythor, created from an African Rhino Viper. He can spit toxic venom capable of damaging even your suites. However, The Dragon Shield may offer some protection. Also, his gaze will turn those with unshielded eyes to stone, and he can become invisible."
"Zordon, will the visors of our helmets protect us from Slythor's gaze?" Billy asked nervously.
"Yes, Billy, your helmets will keep you safe."
"All right guys, it's morphin' time," Jason said as he and the others reached behind their backs for their morphers except for Tommy who no longer needed it.
"Dragonzord!"
"Mastadon!"
Pteradactle!"
"Triceratops!"
"Saber-tooth Tiger!"
"Tyrannosaurus!"
Seconds later, Slythor continued to rampage in Downtown Angel Grove laughing with glee as it slowly moved toward a young woman preparing to turn her to stone. A red beam of energy struck Slythor's chest causing the monster to stumble backward two steps. "Go! Run away!" a voice called out before the woman scrambled to her feet and ran for safety.
Slythor, looked overhead as he heard many battle cries from overhead. The rangers flipped overhead and landed in a group in front of the monster. "Head back to Zedd and tell him to give it up Slythor!" Jason called out as the rangers dropped into fighting stances.
"Never, power geeks!" Slythor replied. "Get them putties!" he added as a group of about twenty putties appeared. Jason and Tommy led the charge against the putties. Jason blocked the strike of one putty, side-kicked another, then punched the first in the face sending it tumbling backward to the ground. Finally, Jason turned his attention back to the second putty doing a jumping spinning back kick and striking the Z on the putty's chest.
Meanwhile, Tommy flipped overhead and landed in the center of a group of four putties. He tapped into The Force before crossing his arms with his palms near the opposite shoulder. "AAAIIYYAAA!" he yelled as he flung his arms outward sending a powerful pulse of Force Energy in all directions and sending the putties flying. Staying tapped into the force he charged forward in a blur striking three putties Z-plates as he ran by them.
"Whoa, that's cool!" Zach laughed.
"Affirmative," Billy agreed as he poked the Z-plate of one of the putties Tommy had sent flying as it tumbled to a halt on the ground in front of him.
"Can you imagine being able to do that?" Trini asked as she gracefully dodged one putty's wide-sweeping punch. As she did, another moved up behind her, only to have its Z-plate struck by the yellow ranger's elbow.
"AAIYA! AAIYA!" Kat yelled as she threw two quick punches at two separate putties. As they stumbled backward she cartwheeled between them. When they turned to face her, they were met by two quick strikes to their Z-plates.
As the rangers battled the putties, Slythor vanished and waited for his chance. Tommy used The Force to pull the last putty to his outstretched fist. No sooner had the last putty shattered before him, than Tommy felt a tremor in The Force. "Kat!," he yelled turning to the new pink ranger. "On your left! Watch out!"
"Huh?" she asked turning to her left. "There's nothing..." Before she could finish her sentence, a foul-smelling yellow-green fluid flew from nowhere and struck her chest. A second later, her suit began to smoke and the smell that invaded the Australian's nose made her stomach churn. She fell to one knee in pain as Slythor appeared before her ready to swipe at her with a clawed hand. Suddenly, she heard the sound of a small sonic boom before Slythor went flying backward.
"Here, take my shield, its powers will protect you," Tommy said as he suddenly appeared at her side. He grabbed her gloved hand in his own and placed it in the center of the diamond plate at the front of The Dragon Shield. It glowed a brilliant green before vanishing into a green energy wave that traveled up Kat's arm and then reformed in its usual form on her own chest.
"Wow! But what if..."
"I'll be fine," Tommy said reassuringly as he stood faced Slythor. Again the monster vanished, however, Tommy could sense his movements. He drew The Dragon Dagger and charged it with green Energy before lining the blade of the weapon toward Billy. The Energy shot off of the dagger and struck Slythor in the back, just before he spat on Billy. Slythor spun around on one knee and hissed loudly at Tommy.
"This isn't over, power geeks!" he roared in anger before vanishing in a swirl of energy.
"You alright Kat?" Tommy asked as Kat slowly got to her feet.
"Yeah, thanks, I think your shield's done its work. Thanks."
"Don't mention it," he said as the shield began to glow before returning to Tommy's chest.
"Alright guys, let's get back to The Command Center, we need a way to fight that thing," Jason said looking at his team.
"Right," the other rangers" said with slight nods of their heads before they teleported away.
"Katherine, are you alright?" Alpha asked when the team arrived back at The Command Center in their unmorphed states.
"Yeah, Alpha, I'm fine thanks," she answered smiling at the robot and placing her hand on his shoulder.
"Alpha, run a scan on Katherine, we can't be too careful where one of Zedd's monsters is concerned," Zordon ordered.
"Right away Zordon," Alpha said materializing a scanner that looked like a large wand in his hands. The device began to hum and crackle slightly as Alpha ran it along Kat's body.
"Zordon, we need a way to fight that thing when it goes invisible," Zack said looking first at Kat, then turning his attention to the team's mentor. "I mean he almost killed Kat."
"I believe we have one," Billy said thoughtfully as he walked in front of them "Or at least Tommy does."
"That's right," Kat said looking over at Tommy. "You knew it was going to attack me, and when it went after Billy, you hit it like you could see it the entire time."
"I sensed it through The Force."
"Okay," Jason said slowly as he rubbed his chin.
"I have an idea!" Trini said excitedly. "When that thing shows up again, we stay spread out. When it goes invisible, we spread out and Tommy attacks it before it attacks us.
"Tommy?" Jason asked looking at his best friend.
"I can do it."
A little over an hour later, Slythor attacked again. Just like before the rangers quickly took out a group of putties, and Slythor tried to attach Jason, only to be stopped by Tommy. Just like before, Tommy's Force Push caused the monster to become visible, the rangers began attacking not giving the monster another chance to vanish.
Watching the battle and becoming angry at what he was seeing Zedd materialized a growth grendade in his hand. "GROW SLYTHOR!" he yelled throwing the grenade to earth. Slythor caught the grenade, pulled the pin, and slammed it to the ground instantly becoming several stories tall.
"We need thunderzord power now!" the rangers said together.
"Dragonord Thunderzord power!" Tommy yelled before playing The Dragon Dagger like a flute. The mighty Dragonzord rose from the ocean and roared as it was struck by a green lightning bolt instantly turning into a Eauropen Dragon.
"Mastadon, Lion Thunderord Power!" Zack yelled. His zord made a trumpeting sound before being struck by black lightning and transforming into a lion.
"Pteradactle Firebird Thunderzord Power!" Kat yelled. The Pteradactle screached and was struck by pink lightning.
"Triceratops Unicorn Thunderzord Power!"
"Saber-tooth Tiger Griffin Thunderzord Power!"
"Tyranosourus Red-Dragon Thunderzord Power!"
The Rangers lept to their zords. Both Jason and Tommy commanded their zords into their warrior modes. The head of the new Dragonzord Thundersord separated from its body and it flipped over. the neck and tall becoming legs much like with the red dragon. The fore and hind legs combined into arms, again like the red dragon. A head resembling a knights helmet rose from between the newly formed shoulders and the wings combined and slid down to the zord's waist forming a scabbard. As if by magic a large broad swoard appeared in it. Working the controls, Tommy made his zord draw its sword and charge at Slythor as Jason did the same with the red dragon's staff.
"Nice, try, rangers," Slythor said with as he used considerable effort to defend himself from the two zords. Sword and staff crossed and a beam of mixed red and green energy struck Slythor in the chest knocking the monster over. It was then that Billy launched boulders at Slythor, while Trini, Billy, and Zack laucned their zords energy attacks at the monster as it struggled back to its feet.
"Mega Dragonzord Thunderzord Power!" Tommy called and the zords again came together to form the powerful zord Zordon had shown them, and Tommy was joined in the cockpit by Zack, Kat, Billie, and Trini.
"Mega Dragonzord Thunderzord Fire Slash!" they yelled in unison as the sword caught fire and they used it to slash at Slythor destroying the monster.
"NO!" Zedd yelled as he slammed his fist down on the railing. "I SWEAR BY ALL THAT IS EVIL ZORDON AND HIS MEDLESOME RANGERS WILL PAY FOR THIS HUMILIATION!"
