Hours later, Tommy, along with the other rangers, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo Chewbacca, the two droids R2-D2, and C-3P0, General Rieekan, General Dodonna, Garm Bel Iblis, Mon Mothma, and Admiral Gial Ackbar, a member of the Mon Calamari, a species of humanoid fish with large heads and bulging eyes, stood on the bridge of a Mon Calamari Starcruiser. The enormous ship had completely enthralled all of the rangers, Billy especially. Tommy could feel the nervous and excited energy radiating off of his fellow ranger. The rangers had powered down, drawing looks of wonder from the gathered Rebel Soldiers and pilots.
"Welcome aboard Home One, everyone," Admiral Ackbar said greeting those gathered on his command bridge.
"Admiral," General Rieekan began as the two saluted one another. "I believe I speak for everyone here when I say thank you for allowing this meeting."
"My pleasure General," Admiral Ackbar said with a nod, "The loss of Yavin Base is a difficult loss, but, worth it considering the destruction of The Death Star."
"Agreed," General Rieekan said before turning his attention to Tommy. "Commander Oliver, you are the one that requested this meeting, I turn it over to you."
"Thank you, General, Admiral, as General Rieekan said, thank you for allowing this meeting. Firstly for those that don't know me, or my friends, I am Commander Tommy Oliver, Jedi Knight, green ranger, and leader of The Power Rangers. These are my friends and fellow rangers, Lieutenant Zach Taylor, the black ranger," Tommy continued introducing Zack.
"Hey everyone," Zack said as he waved at the crowd.
"Lieutenant Kat Hillard, the pink ranger," Tommy said introducing her.
"Hello," she said with a nod.
"Lieutenant Billy Cranston, the blue ranger."
"Greetings, if there is time later, I'd love to study some of your wonderful technology."
"Later Billy," Tommy said with a slight laugh, "He's our tech specialist. This is Lieutenant Trini Kwan, the yellow ranger."
"Pleased to meet you all," Trini said with a smile.
"And last, but not least, Lieutenant Jason Scott, the red ranger."
"Good to meet you all," Jason said with a nod.
"What I'm about to tell you is very complicated," Tommy said with a sigh. "We are not from this dimension, but, conveniently, in our two dimensions, time seems to pass in an identical fashion. Our story began ten thousand galactic standard years ago. Back then, a space witch, named Rita Repulsa tried to conquer our homeworld, Earth. She was defeated and imprisoned by our leader, Zordon," Tommy began. He took a moment to pause and scan the room to judge how his tale was being received.
"Hold up," Han said with a skeptical look," you expect us to believe that you guys are ten thousand years old?"
"No," Tommy said calmly. He had expected this reaction from someone in the group. "As I was saying while those working with Zordon were able to imprison Rita, she trapped him in a time warp. It took time, but, he established contact with our dimension and with the help of his assistant, a robot, or droid if you prefer, named Alpha 5, established a base on our homeworld knowing that the day Rita returned could come."
"And, I'm guessing that it did?" Leia asked, rubbing her chin in thought. There was so much about the rangers her father had not told her, and she wondered how much he didn't know himself.
"Unfortunately, yes, although I wasn't around then," Tommy said nodding at Leia. She was patient, curious, and bold when she needed to be, Just as Yoda had described her mother, Padm'e Amidala.
"Okay, but, what brought you here, and if you are from another dimension, how did you become a Jedi?" Luke asked with a decided edge to his voice.
"And there it is, in the infamous Skywalker brashness," Tommy thought. He had no doubt that Luke would ask him to train him as a Jedi. However, he knew Yoda would be best suited to temper his impulsiveness. However, he could at least try to help Luke improve his patience. "I'm coming to that," Tommy said patiently. "As I was saying, our mentor thankfully used the technology to scan Earth in hopes of finding individuals who our Power Coins would react to and allow to use."
"'Power Coins?'" Leia asked.
"The sources of our ranger powers," Billy answered. Tommy nodded before continuing on.
"Zordon and Alpha had the coins corresponding to the red, black, blue, pink, and yellow, rangers in their procession. The green coin, my coin, Rita had. For months these five held off Rita's attempts to invade our world. That is until my family and I moved to Angel Grove, the city that Rita focused on, and where we all live. How she did it, I can't say but, once she knew the green coin would react to me, she abducted me, brainwashed me, and forced me to fight against the other rangers."
"And he put a hurting on us," Zack added. "He snuck into The Command Center, trashed the computers, broke Zordon's link to our dimension."
"Defeated us single-handedly, sent Jason to Rita's Dark Dimension, and nearly killed him before we managed to teleport him out," Billy added.
"Trashed our Zords, and began using his own to destroy Angel Grove," Trini continued.
"'Zords?'" General Dodonna asked, "Is that what you call those strange walkers you used, how did you combine them?"
"It's a bit more complicated than that, but, yes those were our Zords," Tommy answered trying but not succeeding to hide the guilt-ridden look on his face as his friends recounted what had happened when Rita had used him.
"Eventually, Alpha was able to re-establish contact with Zordon, who returned our Zords to us, and I managed to destroy The Sword of Darkness, that Rita was using to enhance her control over Tommy," Jason finished.
"After all that, I joined the team, wanting to make up for what I had done. But, little did any of us know that when Rita abducted me, she made sure I touched a magic ax and bound my powers to it. She created a candle out of it and burned it down which severely weakened my powers. After this, Zordon revealed the existence of this dimension to me, and the possibility of me becoming a Jedi. He sent me to learn from a Jedi in hiding, and no I will not be revealing who or wheat," Tommy said as he shot a quick glance at Luke.
"While Tommy was gone, Lord Zedd, Rita's boss returned angry that she had failed," Kat began. "Eventually, after my family and I moved from Surry Hills, Australia to Angel Grove, he used me to target Kimberly Hart, the first pink ranger. His plan was semi-successful. Kim left wanting to achieve her own dreams, and thankfully her coin and Zordon allowed me to take over for her."
"Shortly after Kat joined us, Tommy returned, and given his new abilities we decided that he should take over as our leader.
"Well, you continue to impress me, my young friends," Garm said breaking a long silence as the gathered Rebels looked at the rangers in awe.
"Thank you, Senator," Tommy said with a nod.
"It's just Garm now, The Emperor saw fit to abolish The Senate."
"So he officially holds all the power now, instead of unofficially," Tommy said with a sigh. "Shortly after the battle, Zordon contacted me and asked that we return as soon as possible. I think he believes that Zedd and The Emperor are up to something."
"Bad enough Palpatine managed to conquer one galaxy," Leia said shaking her head.
"He won't get ours," Zack said in a defiant tone. "Not without a fight."
"Yeah, you got that right Zack.
"Before you go," Leia said looking at Tommy, "you helped us, now let us help you. Some of us would like to come with you."
Tommy and the other rangers looked around at one another before he finally spoke, "We appreciate the offer Princess, but..."
"Commander please, you are part of The Rebellion. If The Emperor is in your dimension with some of his troops you'll need help."
Before Tommy could answer, his communicator sounded. "I read you Zordon," he said as he raised the device to his mouth and pressed on it.
"Tommy, I am aware of what's going on. You may bring a handful of Rebel Leaders that would like to help. Be advised, we have an emergency situation."
"We'll be with you shortly, Zordon," Tommy said before closing the communication channel. "Who wants to come with us?"
"I do," Leia said stepping forward.
"Me, too," Luke said with a nod. Chewbacca stepped forward and gave what sounded like a growling grunt, then looked at Han.
"Chewie, what do you..." the smuggler began before being interrupted by angry-sounding roars. "Alright, alright," Han said in a defeated tone as he held his hands up defensively.
"Artoo, 3-P0, you better come along too. We might need you," Luke said looking at the two droids, not at all surprised to see that the blue Artoo unit was already rolling towards them.
"As you wish, Master Luke," the golden humanoid droid said in a reluctant tone as he stepped forward.
"Zordon, we're ready," Tommy said into his communicator.
"Teleporting now," Alpha said, just before those assembled on the bridge of Home One gasped as the rangers and their fellow freedom fighters vanished in streaks of light.
Seconds later, the rangers and their allies landed in the Command Center. The new combers took a step back upon seeing Zordon's face in a tube for the first time. "Goodness gracious me!" 3P0 exclaimed.
"Welcome everyone," Zordon began, "My apologies, but, introductions will have to wait until our current emergency is dealt with."
"What's going on Zordon?" Kat asked.
"Rangers and our new allies, observe the viewing globe," Zordon instructed. Following the rangers' lead, Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca, and the two droids turned and watched as the viewing globe came to life, the rangers' assembled parents standing behind the group.
"Oh, no..." Trini said disbelievingly. The viewing globe showed a large group of putties with Stormtroopers holding a large group of civilians hostage at the children's theater in Angel Grove Park. Goldar stood close by, making sure everything was going according to plan.
"Hey Goldenrod," Han said turning his head to 3P0, "that guy a friend of yours?" he asked pointing at Goldar.
"I should think not, Captain Solo," the droid answered turning his head somewhat stiffly from side to side, and his offense more than evident in his tone.
"Zordon, what can we do?" Leia asked.
"Fortunately, long ago, before we knew we could find individuals that the coins would accept we came up with a contingency plan," Zordon said just before metal manikins wearing blue armor with white trim going down the arms and legs appeared from what looked like fields of white lighting.
"These exo-suits will provide you with a means of concealing your identities, and give you enhanced strength and speed. However, it won't be to the level of the ranger's capabilities," Alpha explained. "Although, we don't have one in your size," Alpha said as he turned to Chewbacca. The Wookie gave a series of small roars and a nod of his head in reply.
"Uh, I'm sorry, my translation program didn't get that."
"He says 'It doesn't matter, he's going anyway,'' 3P0 explained, all the while, Han was shaking his head.
"Chewwie come on pal, we didn't come here to play hero. We've got debts to pay off," Han said trying to get his first mate to see reason.
"Too late, you came here," Leia said as she took the helmets off of two of the manikins and shoved one into Han's stomach. "Suit up, laser brain."
"You seem to be forgetting I'm not part of your little war Princess," Han said as he looked over the helmet. "At least I should be able to see out of this one," he thought as he looked at the clear visor that went completely across the helmet's face.
"You've joined Han," Luke said with a slight laugh as he studied the third helmet.
"Leia and Han, what do you make of that?" Jason asked Tommy as he leaned close to his best friend.
"They'll probably either kill each other or end up getting married," Tommy answered half-jokingly.
"That doesn't mean they won't kill each other after the wedding," Kat said fighting back a laugh.
"Yeah," Tommy said as he watched the three, with Alpha's assistance, put on the armor.
"All joking aside, I hope you have a plan," Kat said as she eyed Tommy. In the time they spent hanging out with their friends, or when he taught her Karate, or even on their one their date to the dance at Ernie's she had gotten to know Tommy pretty well. He looked at her with a slight smirk.
"Zordon, Alpha, can you bring up a hologram of the children's theater and immediate surrounding area?"
