Leia sat in the office outside General Rieekan's private quarters on Home One. Sitting across from her, on the opposite side of the large circular metal table was Han Solo. The Correllian Smuggler had his trademark egotistical smirk on his face. Sitting next to him was Chewbacca, his Wookie companion.
"Princess, you got a hold of The Rangers, correct?" General Rieekan asked as he sat behind his desk, not far from where Leia, Han, and Chewie sat.
"Yes, General. Tommy and the others should be here soon," Leia answered with a nod.
"Forgive me, General. I know those kids are talented, but do we need them for this?" Han asked as he sat back in his seat and waved his hand nonchalantly. "After all, Chewie and I have broken into…" Han began before Leia let out a sigh and shook her head.
General Rieekan quickly raised his hand to stop the argument he knew was coming before it could even truly begin. "I wish these two would figure out whatever is going on between them," he thought. "I appreciate the offer Captain Solo, but this job is going to require a team." "And since the train is rumored to be moving a Jedi Artifact, that makes it Tommy's business," Leia said glaring at the cocky pilot.
"And to me," Luke said as he walked into the room, R2-D2 rolling in behind him with a whistle. "Sorry, I'm late general. Maneuvers ran late," he said as he took a seat next to Han.
"That's alright Commander," General Rieekan said with a dismissive wave of his hand. "Having you and your new Rouge Squadron sharp could make all the difference in this upcoming operation.
Before anything else could be said, General Rieekan's comlink sounded. The General picked it up and opened the channel. "General, sorry for the interruption," his aid said over the comlink, "but The Power Rangers have arrived."
"Send them in, Corporal."
"Yes, Sir." Almost immediately after Tommy, Kat, Jason, Trini, Zack, and Billy entered the room.
"General, what can we do for you?" Tommy asked as he and the other rangers saluted the Rebellion's top general.
"Commander, Lieutenants, please take a seat," General Rieekan said motioning to the empty chairs that were arranged in front of his desk. Once the teens were seated General Rieekan went into his reason for asking them to the meeting. "Commander Oliver, we've gotten Intel that The Empire is moving supplies, including a Jedi Artifact on a Train on Ilea Three, a mid-rim world a short hyperspace jump from Naboo. We plan to hijack the train and take the supplies."
"How?" Kat asked, voicing the question nearly everyone else in the room was thinking.
"We'll be using Naboo as a staging area for this operation. Thankfully, Naboo has always been an ally of The Rebellion. The Queen and her allies have made sure we have access to Imperial Uniforms, Credentials, and passcodes."
"Those would be extremely beneficial for an operation like this," Billy said with a nod.
"No doubt, so what's the rest of the pan for this wild west train robbery?" Zack asked. General Rieekan pressed a switch on his desk which dimmed the lights and dropped thick shades. A holographic image of the train appeared, being cast from a small black circle on the General's desk.
"You'll be going on a diplomatic ship to Naboo, landing near the palace in Theed, The Noobian Capitol," General Rieekan answered. "That's when the masquerade will begin. You'll pose as Imperial Officers using the transport shuttle we've managed to steal to fly to Ilea Three. Once there, you'll join the train's escort. When you leave the base, the train will wind through a, thankfully, wide canyon. At the first opportunity signal the start of the operation by giving the code phrase and board the train. Once aboard, deal with any Imperial resistance as quickly as possible, and de-couple the cars. Once this is done signal are local Allies, they'll come in with some repurposed Republic Era LAATs and take the cargo off-world. This Commander Skywalker is where you come in. Until The LAATs can make the jump to hyperspace, they'll be sitting ducks for any TIE's in the area. Rouge Squadron will protect them and jump to hyperspace as soon as possible after they're safely away. You'll rendezvous with the fleet at Rendezvous Point Alita."
"Not a bad plan, eh Chewie?" Han asked as he rubbed his chin in thought. Chewie gave a roar of approval. "So General, how do Chewie and I fit into this?"
"The two of you, along With Princess Leia, who has volunteered for this, and Corporal Jenson will be handling the ranger's pick up and evacuation.
"Chewie and I can handle that on The Falcon, we don't need…" Han began before getting cut off by Leia.
"And until the rangers are on The Falcon, who's going to operate the gun turrets, laser brain?" Han's only answer was to roll his eyes.
"Rangers, as you can imagine, this will be a dangerous operation. I'll understand if you'd rather pass on it," General Rieekan said as he pressed the button again, causing the hologram to vanish, the shades to rise, and the lights to come back on.
"Well, what do you guys think?" Tommy asked, looking at the other rangers.
"I think we should do it," Jason said with a look of determination.
"Me too," Zack said in agreement. "After all, Zedd's thrown in with Sidious and The Empire, for all we know Goldar, the putties, or even one of Zedd's monsters could be on that train. The Rebels won't be able to deal with that. Not like we can at least. No offence General."
"None taken."
"Kat, Trini?" Tommy asked. The two young women looked at one another and gave a nod.
"We're in," they said together.
"Billy?"
"I'm with you. I vote we do this."
"Sounds like we're in, General," Tommy said with a smile.
"Good, We've got a blockade runner in the main hanger. Departure time is in two hours. Dismissed." Everyone stood up and saluted Rieekan before leaving the room to prepare for the upcoming mission.
