Tommy, dressed in Jedi Robes, stood in the Command Center's training room. The holographic projector in the room has transformed it into the swamp world of Dagobah. In front of him was Leia, dressed in snugly fitting black pants and an equally snugly fitting blue sleeveless shirt with the rebel insignia in red on the left side of the chest. She was precariously balanced on her right hand. Around the pair, several of the rocks that the environmental projector had created floated in mid-air, save for the one that was balanced on her right foot.
"Good, Leia, very good," he said as he watched his Padawan practice her growing skills.
"Tommy, uh… Master, is this necessary?"
"Be thankful, when I did this, it was Yoda sitting on my foot," he answered with a smile. "Now, calm your mind and reach out to seek guidance from The Force."
"Alright," Leia said before she took a deep breath and slowly let it out.
"Remember, Leia, The Force is our ally, it guides us, and protects us. A Jedi uses The Force only for knowledge and defense to do otherwise is the path to The Dark Side."
"Like Va… Anakin, my father," Leia said sadly.
"Yes, Leia. The Order at the time was much too dogmatic for him, and he could not accept that even if it did not happen as he foresaw in the visions I'm sure Palpatine was responsible for, that one day your mother would die and become one with The Force. We must lose this dogmatic approach, we must allow ourselves to feel emotion, form attachments but never lose ourselves to them."
"I understand, Master. At least I think I do," Leia said as she continued to make the rocks float.
"You have a question?"
"Well, wouldn't that make us like The Sith?"
"From a certain point of view, perhaps the difference is Leia what will be done about The Will of The Force. As Jedi, we must accept that things will play out according to The Will of The Force and there is nothing that should be done to try and prevent it. The Sith, on the other hand, do not seek to follow The Will of The Force, they seek to dominate it, to make it their will that The Force follows, not the other way around."
"Yes, Master."
"Enough for today, Leia. You are learning quickly, I do not doubt that one day you will be a powerful Jedi."
"Thank you, Master. I'll see you in a couple of days. Oh, before I forget, Sabine is working on something for you and the other rangers. She should be done in a few days."
"Thank you, Leia," Tommy replied as the two bowed to one another slightly and Leia teleported away to her universe.
With Leia gone, Tommy changed into his regular clothes and left to meet Kat for a movie date. The two had barely made it past the lobby however when Tommy's communicator sounded. The two looked at one another and sighed.
"Zed has impeccable timing," Kat said sarcastically.
"No kidding, come on," Tommy said as he led her over to a slightly more secluded spot. "We read you, Zordon," Tommy said lifting his communicator near his lips.
"Tommy, Katherine, teleport to Angel Grove Park at once. Lord Zedd has sent a squad of putties there attacking the day camp area."
"We're on our way," Kat said into Tommy's communicator. The two pressed a button on their respective communicators and teleported away in streaks of light. They landed in Angel Grove Park and were quickly joined by the others.
"They should be over this way," Billy said pointing off to his right.
"Right, come on," Tommy nodded his head and the rangers ran off in the direction that Billy had indicated.
"Look, there they are!" Trini shouted as they crested a small hill. The rangers looked down, seeing the putties circling the kids that were there for an after-school program, closing in on them.
"Let's go, guys!" Zack shouted as he began to run down the hill, the other rangers close behind.
"Hey! Clay Brains!" Jason shouted getting the attention of the putties. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" The putties began to move towards the rangers ignoring the kids.
Tommy and Kat stopped side by side as a group of putties approached them. "Well," Tommy said looking over at Kat. "I probably don't have the gracefulness you do, but since a movie is out, may I have his dance?" he asked as he held out his hand.
"Thought you'd never ask," Kat said as she took his hand. He pulled her to him and she spun with her natural grace ending up with her back to him. He grabbed her waist and lifted her into the air as two putties charged them, she kicked them both in the face, sending them stumbling back. When her feet touched the ground again the two spun away from one another. Tommy ducked one putty's strike and kicked it in the back sending it stumbling to Kat. The Australian used an open hand strike to hit the Putty's Z-plate destroying it. She ran towards Tommy, out stretching her arms as she got close. He reached out, grabbed her arms, and spun sending her legs in a wide ark around them. She managed to hit two putties with her feet sending them crashing to the ground. Three putties moved toward Tommy only to have the young man destroy two of them with lightning-fast kicks. The third he caught in a hip toss and it landed near Kat. Kat lifted her right leg high into the air and brought it down an ax kick to the putty's Z-plate.
As all of this was going on, Jason and Zack fought side-by-side. Jason blacked a putty's punch and landed a backleg front kick to the Z-Plate, then landed a spinning side kick to another. Zack on the other hand used his rapid footwork to confuse two putties. He caught one in the jaw with a spinning back fist, then rolled in the air landing propped up in a break-dancing pose. He kicked the second putty in its Z-plate before springing back to his feet and punching the first putty's Z-plate as it staggered back to its feet. He looked over at the couple, managing to treat the battle with the putties as a graceful dance.
"Would you get a load of those two?" He asked as he swept the leg of a charging putty and then punched its Z-plate when it crashed into the ground.
"Aiya!" Jason yelled hitting a putty with two quick snapping kicks, the second striking the Z-plate. He looked over to see the green and pink rangers spin away from one another but keep their hands in each other's. They performed simultaneous side kicks destroying two more putties. The red and black rangers looked at one another, rolled their eyes, stuck their index fingers near their open mouths, and made quick sarcastic gagging noises.
Trini handed a small group of putties with confidence and grace. Each punch, kick and palm strike was aimed with masterful precision. Two putties closed in, one on either side. She jumped in the air, kicked both, and landed with well-practiced ease. A third putty took a wide looping swing at her, only for her to block it and throw it to the ground with a hip toss, and finish it off with a palm strike.
Billy skillfully dodged several strokes of the two putties he fought until he spotted an opening. As one of the putties moved to kick him he ducked, the putty's momentum causing it to spin and crash into the other. He jumped into the air and came down, one foot striking each of the putty's Z-Plates.
"Is that all of them?" Jason asked after the last of the last of the putties exploded.
"Wasn't that a sufficient amount?" Billy asked with a sarcastic smirk.
Without warning a black arrow struck the ground between them. "Move!" Tommy yelled at it began to glow a dark pink color. The rangers began to scatter, the arrow exploded sending them flying.
"All too easy," a modulated voice that sounded effeminate said. Tommy pulled himself to his feet and looked in the direction that the voice had come from.
"What the…" he said stopping in mid-sentence. Walking towards him was a figure in a black suit that almost looked like a ranger suit. It had a skirt, much like Kat's, and instead of a white diamond pattern, it was pink. The helmet was completely black with almost no distinguishing features. The figure also wore a high-collared cape, completely black except for the pink trimming around the edges. The most distinguishing thing though, was the bow that the stranger carried. The body of it reminded Tommy of two Swords of Darkness, joined at the hilt.
"It's Morphin' Time!" Tommy called out the other rangers moved to their feet and reached for their morphers. "Dragonzord!"
"Mastadon!"
"Pterodactyl!"
"Triceratops!"
"Sabertooth Tiger!"
"Tyrannosaurus!"
"Familiar," the stranger said idling drawing a line in the ground with one end of her bow. "Don't you have anything new?" she said tauntingly. The Rangers began to move in but the stranger fired arrows in rapid succession forcing them back.
"How about this?" Tommy asked as he used The Force to stop several arrows targeted at him and Kat to stop. He charged in, as he placed the pommel on his lightsaber and activated it. The brilliant green blade ignited longer than what would have been normal and the two sides of The Dragon Power Coin emblem near the emitter lowered and allowed two more smaller blades to emerge from the side forming a cross guard.
"Neat trick," the stranger said as she slashed the body of her bow at Tommy he deflected it with his lightsaber and tried a slash of his own. The stranger however brought the other end of her bow up and turned Tommy's blade aside. With a roar, she charged in attacking Tommy with unbridled fury. The two traded attacks with their weapons, and every time one of the other rangers tried to get involved the stranger swatted them away with her strange weapon.
Zack flipped through the air, intent on making short work of the stranger with his Power Ax. She blocked it and sent him flying back with a powerful kick. "Man, whoever she is, she fights hard!" he said as he lifted himself to his feet.
"Yeah, no kidding," Jason said as he used his Power Sword to steady himself by driving the point into the ground. He was breathing heavily, the stranger hand managed to knock the wind out of him, when he had attacked.
"How's this for a trick?" the stranger asked separating her bow into two swords. She slashed one at Tommy's throat and the other at his lead foot. Reacting with guidance from The Force, he blocked the high blade and quickly stepped over the low.
"I know that one too!" he replied as he used The Force to quickly remove the pommel from his lightsaber, then he pulled the two hilts apart and activated his second blade.
What followed was a whirling dance of destruction. Both combatants moved with fluidity and grace as they moved around each other looking for an opening. The blades slashed and stabbed back and forth each time being met by an opposing blade and sparking as they collided.
The stranger used both of her swords in a downward slash and Tommy dove and rolled coming up behind her. He spun around on one knee and threw his right hand forward sending the stranger flying with a powerful Force Push. She hit the ground hard near Kat and the pink rangers quickly moved to attack. The stranger growled as she sprang to her feet and put her swords back together. Kat swung downward with her bow, only to have the stranger use her bow to block it. Kat pushed hard against the stranger's bow trying to overpower her however the stranger rolled the bow to her right bringing Kat off balance. When the rangers staggered, the stranger slammed her helmet into Kat's making her stumble back.
"Kat! No!" Tommy yelled at her and ran towards the two and the stranger drew a black arrow back in her bow.
"Sweetie, pink is out," the stranger said as she loosed her arrow. It struck Kat's morpher and her body went rigid as pink lighting shot from the morpher and cascaded down her body. She fell to the ground and her suit faded away.
With an evil laugh that even through the voice apparatus sounded like the cackle of an evil witch the stranger fired an arrow straight up. It glowed, exploded and several small arrows shot out, each striking the ranger's Morphers like guided missiles and they like Kat fell to the ground and their suits vanished.
"Oh, man!" Zack said pulling out his morpher as he slowly pulled himself to his feet. "My morpher's fried!"
"Mine too!" Kat said pulling out hers.
"They're all fried!" Trini said looking at her own.
"What now?" Billy asked as the stranger laughed and drew another arrow.
"Retreat!" both Jason and Tommy Yelled before the rangers hit their communicators and teleported back to the command center.
"Aye-yi-yi-yi-yi! Rangers! Thank goodness you're safe!" Alpha said as he frantically waved his arms.
"Just barely, Alpha," Tommy said before turning his attention to Zordon. "Zordon, can you repair our morphers and coins?"
"Alpha and I will have to run tests, rangers. But, as damaged as they appear I fear your coins are now useless. Even Tommy's connection with The Force I fear, will not be enough to make even The Dragon Coin usable."
"Great, what do we do now?" Kat asked.
"Zordon, what about the coins we found during the train robbery?" Tommy asked.
"Zordon and I have already tested them, Tommy and they appear to be inert," Alpha said his robotic voice carrying an unmistakable sadness to it.
"There has to be a way," Trini said stepping forward.
"Yeah, Zordon is there anything we can do?" Zack asked.
"Those power suites that Han, Leia, and Luke used when they were here. Could we use those and find some other way to power the Zords?" Jason asked.
"The suits would be usable, but, the Zords are useless without coins," Zordon said. "Alpha and I will do further research in hopes of finding a way to awaken the coins you recovered while helping our friends. For now, return to your lives in Angel Grove and stay vigilant, rangers. We have no information on the stranger that attacked you and they could strike again at any time."
