The commander stepped up to the door to his office and opened it, gesturing within and watching Warspite walked past him and in without a word. He following in a second later and closed the door behind him, and as he turned to survey his own office found Warpsite already sitting on the couch nervously.

A telling thing as all of the Royal Navy Ship-girls were very polite and would not normally sit anywhere in his office unless told too.

"Alright look," the commander began as he began walking across the room to his desk at the back. "You are not yet in trouble, but I need to know everything pertaining to this situation so that I can understand the full picture and make a proper informed decision."

"I understand. This is just . . . not something I thought I would need to talk about," Warspite admitted as the commander sat down at his desk.

"That is rather clear," the Commander said as he let out a sigh and repeated a prior thought out loud. "When Helena reported a girl having a shard of a wisdom cube there were many things I thought it could be. A historic and well hidden theft was the most likely. Not this," he said with another sigh before he tapped on his computer a few times and then pulled his chair forward. "Alright, please begin when you are ready. From the beginning please."

"I met Jack Anderson in 1958, when Myself, Her Majesty and Valiant were sent to the south Americas to assist in dealing with Sirens in that area and to help protect the Panama Canal. His army unit was stationed there to repel Siren ground forces that were intent on taking the canal, presumably to limit the Unions ability to send aid from their west to east coast, or the reverse. We met on the shore after a battle when I went to survey the damage to help plan for the worst case scenario, if I was needed to provide shore bombardment. We began talking and we, hit it off I guess," Warpsite said as her cheeks turned a bit red. "He didn't consider me a weapon, or a tool, but a girl who simply had the power to do something great. He was nice, trusting, friendly, a bit silly, but caring. He was a rarity among most people at that time."

"He sounds it yes," The commander said as he scratched his chin. "That was barely two years after Ship-girls were first formed. All the nations made as many of you all as possible to fight back against the sirens, and while you all proved highly effective, the public opinion was very, split at the time."

Warspite nodded, recalling some event from the time with mixed feelings. "Most Army and Air-force personal were wary of us, with most Naval personnel simply accepting our presences back then. Meeting jack was a, a gift."

"What happened?"

"We continued to meet regularly as friends at that time. There were a couple conflicts, but we both came out fine each time, and he ended up calling in shore bombardments a few times to deal with Siren forces. I, admit I was worried about hitting him, but never did. My aim never once faltered or failed me," Warpsite said proudly as she took a breather. "It was five months later when we were recalled back to Royal waters. He, had wanted to say something before I had to leave, but was unable to due to his CO calling him as we parted."

"And you met later again then I take it?" the Command asked as he continued to silently type on his computer, thankful his keyboard made no noise.

"Yes, it was three years later in 1961 that we met again. He was with Union forces sent to the royal territories to act as maritime shock troopers and defensive forces as the combat in Europe was reaching a fever point at the time. When we met he invited me to diner at a nearby café that same day, and confessed that he had feelings for me. We, began going out shortly afterword's, though I will admit I was nervous about such a thing. Ship-girl rights and public opinion on us were, still not that great at the time."

"I see. . . you kept the fact you were in a relationship with a soldier on the down low I take it?" the commander asked.

"Yes, the only ones who knew at first was Her Majesty, though Hood and the first Commander of Azur Lane found out later that year."

"So my predecessor knew, but did not report it?" the Commander asked before humming to himself. "Very curious."

"He saw it as a way to help bridge the gap between humans and Ship-girls," Warspite said simply. " We, we knew that we could never get legally married, so after a time as we got more and more comfortable, and more in love with the other we began um, experimenting."

"Which led to your daughter?"

"N-not immediately!" Warspite squeaked in embarrassment. "It was late in 62 when we began to notice the, um, changes. Though, the only thing that really change was I got really hungry and my, stomach got bigger. "Aggy, Agincourt, was born on December fourth, after only about three months of me being seemingly pregnant."

"Who knew?"

"The same. Her majesty, Hood and the Commander were the only ones that knew. I was able to hide my pregnancy only with their help. A few minutes after Aggy was born was when her Wisdom cube just, appeared beside her in a small flash. It, caused some issues."

"How so?" the commander asked, his curiosity now very piqued.

"Well, just the fact she had one appear on its own, instead of being acquired like they normally were was a point of worry for the old Commander, but it also had to do with the cube itself. Maybe it was because of her age, but it was cracked to begin with, but even then in its seemingly damaged state it, it shined brighter than any other cube, and all of us could tell it was, more."

"It was more powerful than others you mean?"

Warpsite nodded. "The previous commander, he figured that instead of holding raw data with some possibilities within it, like normal Wisdom cubes, that it was filled instead mostly with possibilities and only a small amount of data. He figured it was the reason that for a few weeks after her birth, the Siren attacks in the area intensified and seemed drawn to us."

"And that led to it being broken into the smaller shards I take it?" the Commander guessed.

"Yes. Jack and I, we began considering options to protect her, to protect our daughter, and with the Commander's help we managed to fully break the cube apart into five pieces. Pieces that each of us who knew would keep so that the pieces could be kept apart, just in case. It had seemingly tried to create a ship a few times before that point after all. Usually when I was in combat.

"Where are these shards now?" the commander asked a little too quickly for Warspites liking.

"They should still be spread out. I keep one in a jewelry box, as Does hood and her Majesty. Jack had one, the one in Aggy's pendant, and the Previous Commander has the last."

"Hmmm, I may need to call my old teacher then."

"What? Why?"

"For a variety of reason that will need to be discussed later. For now, continue, please."

Warspite slowly nodded. "It was, almost a year later when Jack was wounded in a siren raid. He held off almost a Dozen Siren serpent's from breaching into a civilian holdout by the docks on his own, but a Siren Plasma weapon superheated the air around him when it glanced off his armor. He survived and the burn scars on his neck and face healed quickly but, he had a bit of trouble breathing after that and he mentioned there was talk of him being shipped back to the Eagle union. It prompted us to more seriously talk about what to do and . . . . . we didn't want to, but we agreed it would be safer for Aggy in the Eagle union than in the Royal territories. We parted ways a month later, with him taking our daughter with him. He, we had some radios built with the help of the Commander so we could stay in contact and we did, we talked almost weekly, every Sunday evening. But then a couple years later my radio couldn't connect to his. We, we lost contact."

The Commander nodded in understanding. "I take it once you were a bit calmer you tried to get back in contact?"

"Yes but, it was impossible due to the way the Royal navy decided to operate at the time. I wasn't able to make a trip to the union until the war officially ended six years later. The only lead I had was gone by then and my time to look for one was, insufficient."

"I see. And that leads us to our current situation?" the Commander asked carefully.

"That is correct. For a long time I thought they moved, had perished in a Siren attack, something, I never really thought I would see either of them again."

"And her words about her father passing did not help your emotions on the matter," the Commander said in understanding as he looked at his computer screen. And then promptly leaned back in his chair. "You are sure she is your daughter?"

"Completely, yes," Warspite said instantly.

"I see. She does look disturbingly similar to you but . . . . . . Is she human, Ship-girl, or something in between?"

"I, cannot say for sure. She has her wisdom cube, but we never looked into it further. The old Commander suggested that doing so could lead to her being experiment upon and refused to allow it."

"With how strained resources were at the time, and how much people wanted the war to end, yes I could see that," the Commander agreed with another, heavy sigh. "This situation is, problematic. With what has been seen and reported by many naval personal and other civvies, as well as what you have now explained the situation is, complicated. We will need to hear her side of the situation, and her own opinions on what she would like to do moving forward, but I may not have much of choice in the matter."

"What do you mean?" Warspite asked, sounding dangerously nervous.

"I mean that-" the Commander began only to be interrupted by his phone going off. With a sigh he picked it up. " . . . I see, thank you for the report Sheffield . . . . . . . . . . . No, not yet. Once I know everything, then the information may be given out, until then you, and anyone who may have overheard anything in regards to her is to be kept strictly under wraps. Understood? . . . . . . . . . . . And that is? . . . I see. Thank you," the commander finished as he put the phone down in its dock and let out an exasperated sigh.

"Commander, what is wrong?" Warspite asked carefully.

"Hood is bringing her here presently, but that is not the reason or my sigh, at least that last one. Sheffield has informed me that the Maid Corps has found a single person submersible and believes the island had been infiltrated."

". . . You mean the attack on Helena was simply a feint for whatever force is behind it," Warspite reasoned as she held her chin. "That is, troubling."

"It is," The Commander agreed. "However, until we have more information, there is little to be done aside from doubling security around the island and making it known that all forces are to be on the lookout for one who appears that they do not belong."

"That will be difficult with all of the civilian contractors that have arrived."

"Yes, it will," He admitted with another sigh. Before then looking right at Warspite. "Let me make something very clear before your . . . Before Miss Anderson arrives. First, there are going to be changes, and while I don't want to, some of these may not be taken well by all parties. Secondly, anything I say must be taken with a grain of salt until we have much more accurate information one way or another. Third, nothing that goes on during this upcoming meeting is personal. Fourth, I make no promises one way or another. Understand?"

"I, believe I do," Warspite admitted with a nervous gaze. "However I do not like what is being insinuated."

"Believe me, I do not either, but we all must deal with the requirements of our stations," the commander said just before a knocked on the door echoed out through the room. "Yes?"

"It is Hood. May our guest and I enter, Commander?" Hood asked politely through the door.

The Commander looked to Warspite, who took a deep breath and nodded, before he nodded at well. "Yes, please come in, both of you."

The door opened and Hood walked in, seeming as proud and perfect as she always made herself seem. Behind her followed Aggy Anderson, or Agincourt, The Commander was unsure which was the best way to refer to her as of yet with what he now knew. And in stark contrast to Hood who looked immaculate, it was very clear that Aggy had been through a very emotional conversation. While her face and clothing were cleaned up, the skin around her eyes and nose was still red, and her eyes were a bit red as well. She also looked utterly unready to deal with anything.

Seeing this, the commander immediately decided he would need to take the meeting a bit slower and more carefully, but also knew that tiptoeing around some points might make things worse. "Hood, thank you for arriving as promptly as always," He nodded to Hood before looking to Aggy. "Miss Anderson, I understand now that the situation is more complicated than I previously understood. Would you and Hood please take a seat on the couch there, and we can begin going over the situation properly?" He then asked as he gestured to the couch across from the one Warspite was sitting at.

"Of course Commander," Hood said politely as she moved to the couch, and then gently took Aggy's hand and led he over with her while Aggy said nothing but simply nodded.

"Good, thank you," The commander responded as he clicked a button on one side of his desk, causing the door to his office to close on its own. Then, much to Aggy's surprise, the window seemed to dim as if they were sunglasses, making it impossible to see out of them. A second later a loud click came from the door itself as she commander sat up straighter in his chair. "Now then. My office is now perfectly secure because the conversation I have had thus far has made it clear that what is said now cannot immediately leave this room until a result is reached. Miss Anderson, I have been made to understand Warpsite's side of this story, but I would like to hear yours as well."

"W-what do you mean?" Aggy asked nervously, her eyes not looking toward Warspite at all. Something the Commander noticed.

"I would like you to explain your history regarding your parents, and then your voyage to the base, if at all possible. Do you understand?"

Aggy slowly nodded. "There, isn't much to say about my parents. My mother was never around and when I asked my father about her he would not say anything about her. He died a few years ago from an injury to his lungs he got when fighting Sirens during the war, and since then I was taken in by his brother, my uncle. I had to retake a year of school due to my father's death because there were some kind of legal complications, and when I finished high school I found out that Azur lane was calling for people to join the navy and to join as Civilian contractors for a variety of jobs. My dad, all I knew about my mom that he told me was that she had been part of Azur Lane. I needed a job and, and I always wanted to know more about her, so I applied for the a couple of civilian postings. Secretary, dormitory caretaker and a clerk job. I received confirmation of acceptance by a letter just a day before the ship was to leave and my uncle was, a bit resistive to this as I hadn't told him. We had a small fight that led to talking about it by my father's grave, and that same day he gave me my mother's pendant," Aggy said as her hand snaked up to grip the pendant in question, the gem within glowing faintly but visibly to everyone but herself. "The next day I went to the docks and boarded the Helena, meeting her a day later. The only other thing of note on the voyage otherwise was when we were attacked. I- I have some basic first-aid training, so when the attack happened I and others were called to act as first responders to get the wounded to the infirmary if anyone was wounded. I was put up on the deck and, and then a shell hit Helena's bridge and sent her flying out of it. I tried to tell the first sailor near me, but they were to out of it so I rushed to the back of the ship when I saw her in the water. I told a sailor I met before boarding the ship and then jumped off the ship to go save her. I- I got to her and brought her to the ship and then I uh, blacked out I guess. I woke up just before I met you in the infirmary."

"I see," the commander said as he tapped his key board a couple times. "Before continuing I would like your thoughts on a couple things. The first is of the most major. It was reported by many witnesses that you leapt off the Helena and swam to her, and then back. It is also reported that you moved through the water far faster than many would be capable of doing, many going so far as to reporting you moving with speed that was, inhuman. Were you even in a swimming club in school, or perhaps some sort of team?"

"Um, no, I wasn't," Aggy said nervously. "I, have been historically pretty bad at swimming, average at best."

"You are aware that directly goes against what was reported by dozens of sailors, yes?"

"Um, I am, yes."

"Then next, when you were swimming to Helena, did you feel anything strange while doing so?"

"I . . . . . kind of felt stronger. And I didn't feel a whole lot of fear, even though just before hand I was terrified about the Helena being under attack."

The office was quiet was the Commander seemed to Mull over Aggy's words. Finally, he looked up straight at Aggy, his eyes like brilliantly and hard diamonds staring into her soul. "Has Hood told you her and Warspite's position on the situation?"

Aggy was silent as she slowly looked down at her lap, speaking quietly and barely being heard. "She, may have told me about the idea. And, might have been able to drop my exact day, and time, of birth."

The Commander shifted his Gaze to Hood, prompting her to speak.

"I explained the situation as I knew of It, but there are a number of reason why she is, resistive to agreeing to the idea," Hood said simply, causing Aggy's head to whip and look at her nervously.

"And, what are those reasons, might I ask?" The commander said as he looked at Aggy, not at Hood.

Aggy only noticed this after a few seconds and pointed up at herself. The Commander nodded and instantly she looked even more nervous. "I, just the idea that I'm, not human is, it feels wrong. It would mean my entire life has been nothing but a well hidden lie, that nothing I've ever done would mean anything, that I, that I won't have any of the rights I'm used to and will be nothing but a tool. And-" Aggy stopped, her voice cracking a bit as she slowly seemed to try to look up at Warspite, but then looked away at the last second. "-and, the idea that my mother isn't actually dead, that she has been alive this whole time, avoiding me, never seeing me or making it clear I had two parents who loved me, is, it's just-"

Aggy stopped as very suddenly Warspite was up off the couch, around the table and had almost catapulted herself at Aggy, wrapping her arms around her tightly. "We both loved you, you were, are, everything to us both!" Warspite declared, almost sounding like she was about to cry as well. "We didn't want to, but we knew that to keep you safe you had to go away, you had to go with your father because staying with me, statin on a warship in the middle of a war is not a way any child should be brought up!"

"Then why did he never say anything about my having a mother that was alive!?" Aggy demanded, though she did not push Warspite away.

"Because children talk, that was something that the previous Commander made very clear to us," Warspite said as she let go of Aggy and pulled away, but kept her hands on her shoulders so she could look at her face. "If you knew who, what I was, then you could say things about it, and questions would be asked, questions we didn't want to be asked, to protect you."

The commander could see that Aggy wanted to get angry at something, so quickly spoke up, giving his thoughts on the matter. "A Lot of Families were broken up by the Siren war. The Battle lines in Europe were very chaotic, so a lot of families went to the America's."

"That, that doesn't mean-" Aggy tried to say as her eyes teared up a bit while her body seemed to tense. After a few seconds of silence her body seemed to lose all of its strength, slumping forwards on the couch as she covered her face with her hands. "I was safe but, but I never knew anything. I just wanted to know about my mother, and now, now if I admit it, everything is wrong, a lie, everything changes!"

"What precisely, are you afraid of changing?" the Commander asked seriously.

"Me, everything!" Aggy said as she looked up and stared at the commander. "If my, if I'm not human, then what has my life been for? Everything I would have thought or done would have been a lie including the idea that I even have a choice! If- if I'm not human, then I'm nothing but a tool, a weapon, I don't have a future i-"

"There may be some individuals that think as such, but Ship-girls are given rights and freedoms similar to regular humans of their nations," the Commander spoke up, cutting Aggy off from continuing. "There was a time when such a thing was up in the air, but it has come a long way and while Ship-girls are expected to continue their work with the Navy or Azur Lane, they are paid and have time off and have mostly the same rights as any sailor, engineer or secretary. In the first place, we still do not know what to classify you as."

"What!?"

"It is just like what you said, if," the commander said with a sigh as he tapped his keyboard. "Aside from some strange energy reading from your pendant and yourself, your body appears human to a medical exam, however eyewitness reports have you doing things beyond human and Warspite and Hood's own words state you were born from a union of a human and a Ship-girl, something thought impossible. Technically we do not know right now if you are wholly Ship-girl, a Human, or something in between."

"Then, then what is going to happen?" Aggy asked nervously.

"That is currently the primary issue and concern here," The Commander said with a sigh as he leaned forward and clasped his hands together in thought. "The first issue is as to your classification, due to Azur Lane regulations it needs to be discovered because, also due to regulations, all Ship-girls must be working for either their respective Navy or Azur Lane itself directly. Technically you came here for work as a civilian contractor so you do work for me, but we will need to do dome testing to find out one way or another what you count as," the Commander said before suddenly raising a hand before anyone could speak. "I am not stating that we need to turn her into one or the other if such an option is discovered, just find out first and foremost which she counts as right now. Secondly is your family situation. Legally you are an adult, however if you are accepting who your mother is, it means a change to the current paperwork is required, and that will be a thing that then ties backwards to the need to confirm what you classify as. Lastly, your job and housing situation, because honestly, the situation is too complex for it to last with what was originally planned for both your job, and housing. We do not know when, or how long testing will last or take, so your previously accepted job as the dorm caretaker will likely not be able to fly very successfully, and if rumor of you maybe being a Ship-girl gets out as well, then being in a civilian dorm may not be the best, for a variety of reasons."

"Wait, wait, I just, wait a second," Aggy said as she wiped a hand across her face and then rubbed her temples. "So, I essentially need to have some medical exams regardless of what I decide, but otherwise, I'm getting a choice to, what exactly?"

"Yes the medical exams will be required, however the other points I mentioned will depend on what you decide right now in regards to whether or not you are believing what Hood and Warspite are stating as to you being Warspite's daughter."

"Wait, Commander, this may be a bit to forward of a way to-" Hood began to say, noticing how nervous and terrified Warspite now looked. After all, from the way the commander was speaking it sounded like he was giving Aggy one chance to say one way or another her feeling on the matter, and that depending on her answer would change what he decided to do in regards to her.

The Whole room was silent as Aggy seemed to look around; terrified by the prospect she was just given. Part of her hated the idea, all of it, that she could be related to a humanoid weapon. She knew Ship-girls were just like people, the Eagle union made it very clear and there were a number of union Ship-girls who were in non-naval jobs on the side, the most known being Bremerton and Lexington working as Models and idols respectively. But the idea of being one, or partly one, of having to fight some unknown enemy, of not being human, of her past being inherently wrong in some way, gnawed at her mind.

On the other hand, it was very hard to deny that Warspite could be her, mother. She did admit the two of them looked very alike, hair, face, body structure. Her voice felt familiar to her, and weirdly even the smell of the Ship-girl, one of the most renowned of the entire Royal Navy, was familiar as well. Hood's words had felt honest and strangely truthful as well. Speaking with her, being near her had felt familiar, as if she was someone she had known from a long time before. She barely knew her, but for some reason had this undeniable desire to refer to her as her aunt. Something that was mind boggling in its own right.

Aggy opened her mouth to reply, but found the word would not come out right away, before then realizing she was trying to lie to herself, she was trying to say the opposite of what she knew and wanted, and hung her head down, both in disgust, embarrassment and a plethora of other emotions. "I don't know even know how I feel about it, but I can't really keep lying to myself that Hood and M- Warspite are probably right. I just know it, even if I don't know how it makes me feel."

Warspite's expression slowly turned from worry to utter glee as she looked like she was about to pounce on Aggy, while Hood simply smiled ever so slightly, likely happy for Warspite that progress was being made. Before either of them could act though, the Commander clapped his hands together, causing all eyes to turn to him. "Very well, as you are accepting that fact as, at the very minimum possible, then it means there needs to be a few things done. I will speak with R&D so we can decide how to properly and non-invasively do these tests and," the Commander looked to Hood and Warspite, " Miss Anderson will be moved to the Royal Dormitories, I trust room should be of no concern?"

"I believe it should not be," Hood Said with a nod.

"Good. Now, Miss Anderson, you will not, for now, be considered a Ship-girl officially, I'm not sure how I'm going to legalize or hide this in the paperwork as yet admittedly, but for now, when you are not assisting with these tests to discern your existence you can stay around the Royals. And if ultimately you find yourself needing something to occupy your time more seriously it can be found. Does that sound fair to you for now considering the circumstances?"

"Very . . . . Worryingly so," Aggy said as she tried to be serious, which was difficult when she still looked like she was going to break down and cry.

"You should not need to worry until the tests start showing promise one way or another. The only other thing I will say at this point is that you should gather the shards of her Cube; they may have a use in testing. For now though, all three of you are dismissed," the commander said in a very final tone as he flicked a switch, turning of his office's information lockdown mode and allowing natural light to enter once again.

"But, what about my personal stuff and-" Aggy tried to ask, only for Hood to gently place a hand on her shoulder as she got up.

"We shall deal with that later for now, I believe it would be best for us to head to the royal Dormitories, there are some people you should meet, and I believe both you and Warspite should perhaps have some time alone to sort out your feelings to each other. Yes?"

Aggy looked like she wanted to speak but simply nodded, then being led out of the office and leaving the Commander alone. Then, after a few moments, he punched a few keys on his phone before getting up and standing by the window, waiting for the one on the other end to pick up.

"Yes? This is Grand Admiral Grayson of Azur Lane and the Royal Navy, who am I speaking to and how did you get this number?"

"It is me, Teacher, and I am calling because I need some answers about things you have been hiding," the commander spoke loudly so his phone's mic would properly catch his voice. "Particularly about the union of a Royal Navy Battleship with a Union Marine, and the subsequent birth of a Ship Called the Agincourt."
