Brooke

When Leo doesn't want to be followed, there's no way you can follow him.

I lost track of Leo about halfway to the Gryffindor tower, and by the time I caught up, made my way into the common room and up to the fifth year boys dormitory, the bathroom door was open by a few inches, and I felt my stomach drop at the sight of it.

"Leo...?" I asked quietly, noting the chips along the edge of the door, where he had tried to slam it closed, but it had hit the frame and bounced back.

I received no reply, but my breath caught as I heard a quiet, sharp gasp that could only be caused by one thing:

Pain.

Jumping forward I pushed the door open, and upon finding nothing, turned my eyes to the shower stalls.

I could see Leo's feet under the door but surprisingly not his head above it, and on the tiled floor, I almost sobbed at the sight of blood, still continuing to drip.

Rushing forward, I pounded on the door, knowing that Leo would lock it even in his haste, and even as the door shook under the weight of my blows, he didn't speak.

"Leo!" I hissed, swiping at the door with my nails, knowing that it wouldn't do anything but not particularly caring in my terror.

Suddenly, the door swung inwards and I slammed into Leo's back.

"Leo!" I exclaimed, mostly out of relief now that I could reach him, and when I spun him around, the first thing I saw was the tiny little shard of glass in his hand, followed by all of the blood.

Not only was there blood on the floor and all over his hand, both from cuts made by the glass there, and on the back of his knuckles where he had obviously punched something- my guess was a mirror- but in other places too.

For one... It was soaking through the front of his shirt.

My hand lunged out, and I yanked his t-shirt up to his neck, eyes widening as the cuts all over his abdomen were revealed to me.

"Leo..." I whimpered, tears starting to fall freely now before my eyes rose to meet his.

"They'll be healed by dinner. My hand..." Reluctantly, I let his shirt drop, and moved to his hand, gently prying the larger shard from his grip, and turning it so I could inspect the wounds littering the back of his hand.

"What the hell did you do?" I asked him, and he shrugged lightly, then winced as it twinged his new cuts.

"Punched a mirror." My eyebrows shot up, but I tried to focus on the issue at hand- cleaning his.

"We should go to the Room of Requirement-" I cut myself off, hearing the dorm room door swing open, and Leo's friends guffawing.

Throwing my arm out, I shot a spell at the bathroom door, slamming it shut and hearing it click as it locked.

"I guess we're staying here then." I muttered, pulling him with me out towards the sink, where there was more blood, and a lot more broken glass. "It's okay, it'll be fine..." I whispered, mostly to stop myself from hyperventilating, and guided his hand to the sink, turning on the tap.

Cupping some water in my hands, I gently poured it over Leo's, watching most of the glass fragments wash away.

I used my wand for the rest, and lifted the other shards out, wincing as he did when something caused him further pain.

I also repaired the broken mirror, cleaned the blood from the floor and sink, and moved to inspect the stall door.

To my shock, I found it utterly demolished.

"What- Did I do that?" I didn't hear him turn, but I did hear him shuffle up behind me, not able to use his vampire speed due to his injuries.

"Yeah. I thought you brought a badger or something with you." He joked without humour, and I bit my lip, lifting the door back up in line with the broken hinges.

"Help me fix this, will you?" Nothing happened for a second, then Leo murmured something, and the door was pulled out of my hands. Slowly but surely it reattached itself to the hinges it had once hung on, and mended those as well. "Thanks." I said tightly, turning back around to face him.

"Leave it, will you?" He said, trying to turn away, but I grabbed his shoulder to pull him back, openly gaping at him.

"'Leave it'? Can I remind you that the last time I... cut myself-" This last part I whispered, just in case Remus could hear me from the dorm room. "You were very adamant about me stopping- to the point where you healed me yourself." He winced at this reminder, and an idea sprung into my head. "Leo-" I said urgently, and he refocused his gaze on me. "Bite me." His eyebrows shot up.

"What?" He spluttered, and I pulled aside the collar of my shirt, unbuttoning it a little so it wasn't as hard to do.

"Feeding heals vampires, right? Well... bite me." He started to shake his head, but I focused as hard as I could, and slashed at the skin at the side of my neck- gasping and whimpering in pain as my newly grown elongated claws cut into my skin before immediately disappearing back into regular nails once the damage was done.

"Brooke!" He hissed, and I don't know whether it was just his proximity to the blood or the fact that he was missing some as well, but his eyes turned so dark they were almost black, his skin paled some, and he grew claws maybe only a little bit shorter than my own.

"There," I puffed, wiping my finger on my shirt as blood started to leak down my neck. "Now you have to heal me- might as well heal yourself, too." And I swear, at that moment, he looked like he hated me for even suggesting it- let alone making it necessary.

"Fine." He growled, revealing long, sharp canines that sent a shiver down my spine before a split second later, he had me pinned against the bathroom wall.

There was barely a second of hesitation, but to me, it felt like a life time before I felt a sharp pain as he bit me- then several duller pangs I wasn't so sure were pain related.

My arms slunk around him, hands fisting in the back of his shirt and pulling him closer to me, doing my best to ignore the way he had positioned himself so his hips were pinning mine against the wall and were rocking against them ever so slightly, or how, as he fed on my blood, he mouthed at the skin around the wound, like it was just a particularly tooth-filled hickey.

Just as I started to feel a bit light-headed, the duller pangs dissolved to almost nothing, and a second later, he retracted his fangs, instead lapping at the affected area with his tongue to set it healing.

"Don't ever do that again." He whispered into my ear, and I pushed him back, pulling up his shirt to check his wounds, and winking at him cheekily.

"Worked though, didn't it?" I asked rhetorically, before dabbing at the blood- my blood- staining the corners of his mouth. Hesitating slightly, I asked my next question. "Was this... Was this because of what Remus said at lunch?" I inquired, and he smiled ever so slightly, shaking his head.

"No," He said, before that slightly smile turned into a deep frown. "No- No, this was because of everything that's been happening lately."
