Chapter 1: The Ringed Magician

The rings of magic, the Wizard Rings. They shine on the hands of the modern mage, as he changes despair into hope.

A single patch of light cut through the seemingly endless dark void, illuminated a single spot revealing a patch of pure white flowers, amongst which a pair of young girls could be seen. One of whom, the older of the pair, had long black hair tied into a pair of pigtails and teal eyes clad in a red dress/overalls worn over a white shirt with a red bowtie tied around her collar, weaving together the stems of three flowers together, adding more as she went along to form a long chain of flowers.

Meanwhile the young of the pair, who had shoulder length dark brown hair along matching teal eyes clad in a white-ish pink sun dress with the image of various flowers printed on it, was trying to mimic what her older sister was doing, her cubby face scrunched up into a look of concentration as she her fingers worked clumsily to recreate the flower chain her sister was making. Believing that she was done a look of joy spread across her face as she admired her work only for it to be replaced by a frown as her flower chain fell apart.

"Mou," The younger girl moaned in frustration as threw aside the remains of her flower chain before she began pouting. "Why is this so hard?"

Hearing this the older of the two sisters couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. "It's not that hard once you know what you're doing, you're just being too rough and impatient." She said scooped up some of her sisters more intact flowers as well as some fresh ones and quickly set to work, weaving the stems of the flowers together creating a loop.

Once she was done the dark haired girl then placed the crown of flowers atop her younger sister's head. "There, now you look super pretty."

"A…amazing Onee-san. You're so good at making flower crowns." The young girl beamed happily, her frustrations at being unable to make the crown herself quickly forgotten, clapping her hands in excitement. "Is this Magecraft that Tou-san taught you?"

The older girl laughed at this. "Not quite, there's no magic to this. Plus it was Kaa-san was the one who showed me how to do it, after that it was just lots and lots of practise." The older sister replied, beaming at her sibling. "Come on, I'll teach you just like Kaa-san taught me."

Hearing this the younger girls smiled grew wider. "Please Onee-san, teach me how." She said excitedly. "I want to make one for you so you can look pretty too."

Letting out a small groan Tohsaka Rin's eyes slowly parted, her eyes greeted by the sight of her dimly lit room, the morning light seeping through the edges of her curtains that covered her windows. Shifting her gaze she turned to look at the small clock located on her bedside table, the devise informing her that it was currently a little after 5:00 am.

Letting out another groan Rin looked her way, shifting her gaze towards the ceiling. As she looked upwards memories of her dream crept into the front of her mind. 'That dream…' Before she could continue with that traitorous thought Rin shook her head, banishing it before it could take any further hold.

Throwing off the covers the dark haired Mage quickly rose from her bed and went about her morning routine, making a beeline for the bathroom, doing her best to put the still lingering images from her dream to the back of her mind.

Before long Rin was washed and dressed for the day head of her entering the study, a piece of toast dangling from her mouth as she carried an empty plate in her hand, and strode straight towards the desk where she'd left her books and work for school that she needed for her classes were located.

Setting the plate down she began gathering the school books that she would need for the day along with any work that her tutors had set for them, as she did her gaze momentarily shifted over to a desk calendar that was also sitting there upon which two dates marked down on it.

One of those dates was appointed time that the upcoming Holy Grail War would begin, the day itself being just over two weeks away now. As one of the chosen participants the Tohsaka heiress had been hard at work making that she was prepared as the other Masters for the upcoming conflict were more than likely making their final preparations to summon their Servants or had already done some and were either on route to Fuyuki or had already arrived at set up their bases of operations.

Whatever the case Rin was not going to be caught unprepared, as such she dedicated every spare moment she had making sure that she had everything that she would need along with building up as much Prana as she could, especially if she was to summon the Servant that she aiming for, along with acquiring any resources that could benefit her in the upcoming battles.

As for the second date that was marked down, the date being in question being today's date, was encircled several times and the word Omokakedō written on it and circled several times to make sure that she wouldn't forget about it. Omokakedō itself was an antique store and pawn shop located in the Mount Miyama shopping district owned by a man named Wajima Shigeru, someone that she'd most for most of her life due the ties the man had to to her family.

Due to the Tohsaka family's particular branch of Magecraft involving the use of gemstones they required to a regular supply them and whilst Wajima wasn't their sole supplier he had been held in higher regard by her father Tokiomi than the others due to the man's uncanny ability to supply them with high quality gems.

How he was able to do this her father was unable conclude, even Wajima himself didn't seem to know, simply brushing it off as the stones themselves speaking to him. Whether it was a form of Magecraft, and if it was it was not one that she was aware of, or something else entirely no one really knew. However because of the high quality gems that he supplied her family they were willing to overlook it.

Snapping out of her musings Rin returned to getting ready for the day that was head of her, gathering together the last of the items that she required for school she all that was left for her was to grab her red coat and head out the door.

And yet that nagging that had been brought about by her dream and continued to feel since waking up refused to go away.

Normally Rin would simply brush them off and go about her business, her resolve strong enough to push such insignificant things aside as expected from a high class Magus. But today it seemed that the vivid images of her dream that continued to nag at her seemed able to get the better of her.

Rather than heading for the front door Rin instead found herself making her way back towards her room as if her body was being moved by some force outside of her control, upon entering she quickly closed the door behind her before she walked over to her chest of draws.

Taking a moment to glance around as if she was checking to see that was being watched, Rin pulled over a drawer of the wooden piece of furniture and began digging through the assortment of junk she had stashed in there before finding what she was looking for, a photograph contained within a simple frame.

If anyone else saw this item they might question as to why she had such a mundane item stashing away but to the Tohsaka heiress this framed picture was her most treasured possession, one that was irreplaceable.

Gazing back at her was a trio of happy female figures, one of those figures being a three year old version of herself, her arms wrapped around the frame of a two year old sister, Tohsaka Sakura, both of them seated on the knees of their mother, Tohsaka Aoi. The picture itself having been taken by her father, Tohsaka Tokiomi.

Staring at the smiling faces that were looking back her Rin felt a torrent of emotions well up within her, for a moment she forgot all about her position as member of prestigious Magus family and her responsibilities that came with said position and allowed herself to be human. Just this once.

It all seemed so quaint and perfect, a happy moment captured forever. The three happy individuals before her blissfully unaware of the tragedy that was about to befall them.

Not long after Sakura had been traded to the Matou, her father had gone about purging all evidence that he'd had a second daughter from the house. Any and all photos of the girl and all of her personal items had been disposed of, images depicting them as a family of four were either junked or altered to remove any trace of her.

All except for one.

This picture was the only surviving piece of evidence that remained that proved she and Sakura had once been sisters, having hidden it away herself, taken long before she had been traded away by their father to the Matou prior to the events of the Fourth Holy Grail War, the war that had ultimately torn the family apart.

And then suddenly it was all over.

As if a switch within her had been flipped the dark haired teen instantly composed herself and Tohsaka Rin the girl vanished and Tohsaka Rin the Magus took her place. Berating herself for giving in to her moment of weakness Rin returned the picture back to the drawn, making sure to bury it beneath the other assorted items that it contained, before slamming it shut.

Taking a few deep breaths Rin turned on her heel and matched towards the door, grabbing her bag for school and headed out into the new day, her moment of weakness quickly banished from her mind.

The past was the past and nothing short of the Holy Grail itself was going to change that.

Another day had come and gone and many of the students of Homurahara Academy were getting out, amongst them was Matou Sakura, the lavender haired student walking amongst the sea of students that weren't involved with the student council or had club activities that day.

"Hey Sakura…" Hearing her name being called Sakura looked over her shoulder and saw female students with shoulder length brown hair come jogging toward her.

"Mitsuzuri-san." Sakura greeted the captain of the schools Archery Club as she approached.

"There you are, for a second I thought you were going to try and ditch me." A sly grin then spread across her lips. "After all it is Thursday and you know what that means right?"

For a moment the lavender haired girl seemed somewhat confused but after a few seconds eyes widened as she realized as to what Ayako was getting at. "O…ohhh…" She stammered. "I…I…would never do that Mitsuzuri-san."

Ayako's grin widened. "Come on," She said as she wrapped one of her arms around her junior's elbow, "We don't want to keep you know who waiting."

Ayako led Sakura in the direction of the Mount Miyama shopping district and before long the two girls found themselves outside of Omokakedō, a popular antiques store along with being dealers in second hand jewellery.

Pushing open the door the two female students were greeted by the sight of the store's owner conversing with a customer wearing a nice looking suit, no doubt to convince them into purchasing an ornate vase that he was showing off to them.

Hearing the jingling of a bell older man looked over and was greeted by the sight of both Ayako and Sakura standing in the open doorway. "Oh, Sakura. Mitsuzuri." He said, a kind smile gracing his thick lips. "You've come to visit us."

"Yo, Wajima-san." Ayako greeted him, a grin on her face.

"H…hello, Wajima-san." Sakura added, offering the man a slight bow of her head.

Taking a moment Wajima shifted his attention back to the customer that he had been speaking, politely excused himself and leaving them to ponder his offer as he approached the two Academy students.

"So, what brings you to my humble store today?" He inquired before a thought occurred to him. "Ah, but of course. It's time of the week isn't it."

"That's right." Ayako replied.

Letting out a small chuckle Wajima turned his attention to an open doorway that led to the back room of the store where more of its stock was kept. "Shirou-kun," He called out. "Our favourite customers have come to visit us."

Not moments later a figure appeared in the doorway through which the stores sole employee emerging from the back room carrying a box, a young man of nineteen with short rust coloured hair and golden eyes clad in a simple white and blue shirt and jeans with a green apron with the stores name embodied on the chest. Something that really stood out about him was the oversized ring that he sported on each of his hands, something that he had only started sporting since becoming Wajima's employee.

"Oh, Sakura, Mitsuzuri." The rust haired male said upon seeing the two girls.

"Here there Emiya." Ayako said.

"H…hello, Senpai." Sakura added shyly.

"Shirou-kun, I'm busy with a customer right now." Wajima said, smiling warmly. "Why don't you show what these two the new stock that we received this morning."

"Right." Shirou replied as he walked over and behind the stores counter, both Sakura and Ayako approaching as he set the box on the ground.

Both girls were familiar with the rust haired young man as he was a former student of Homurahara Academy and member of the Archery Club, the boy in question having been its Captain before hand picking Ayako to succeed him prior to graduating the year before hand. Although strangely on the day that his class had been set to take their first steps into adulthood Shirou had been strangely absent, missing the ceremony entirely.

Something else that stood out about that day, and stood out for a lot more people, was unexpected and unexplained eclipse that had occurred during the graduation ceremony. The event left a lot of people baffled as it had taken them completely by surprise, both astrologist and Magi could not come up with an answer as to how an event such as an eclipse just could happen without their knowlage.

Sakura also knew Shirou thanks to him being friends with her brother Shinji, despite the two of them having had a falling out some time ago she and Shirou had remained in contact, Shirou also being the reason that she had joined the Archery Club.

"So, how have you two been?" Shirou asked as he brushed down the front of his apron before leaning on the counter.

"Same old same old." Ayako replied as copied the older boy's stance and leaned on the counter. "Same old school and same old club business."

Shirou chuckled before turning his gaze over in Sakura's direction. "What about you Sakura, how are things with you. You've not been over for a few days." He inquired. "Everything alright at home?"

"Oh right, Sakura here has been going over to your house you ever since that time you injured yourself." Ayako said in a sly tone. "You're a lucky guy Emiya, how many others boys would kill to have a cute girl come over to cook and clean for them nearly every day."

Hearing this resulted in a stern look to appear on Shirou's face whilst Sakura shifted nervously. "Knock it off Mitsuzuri." He said firmly. "Someone might get the wrong idea about Sakura and me."

"Uhhh…y…yes. Everything's fine." Sakura replied, trying to hide her embarrassment. "S…sorry I've not been over much, Oni-san and I have been busy assisting Grandfather with family matter as of late. I may not be able to come over as often for a while. I…I hope you're not disappointed."

Shirou shrugged. "Ah well, it can't be helped I guess." He said. "I hope your family business goes well Sakura. Just remember that you can come over any time if you need to get away ok."

Hearing this caused a deep blush to spread across the lavender haired girls face. "Y…yes…thank you Senpai." She replied.

"Ok, enough talk. We came over here for a reason." Ayako spoke up. "Emiya, anything good come in?"

Shirou couldn't help but chuckle at this. "Straight down to business is it." He said before stooping down to picking up from behind the counter. "You're lucky, I haven't had a chance to put any of this stuff on display yet so you two are the first to see this."

Not long after finding out that he was working at Omokakedō both Ayako and Sakura had made a habit of dropping by the store to see him, particularly on the day that the store would receive new jewellery to sell. After a while the whole thing had morphed into a game that the three of them would play, Shirou would pick out a piece of merchandise from the new stock he thought would suit them and if he guessed right Sakura and Ayako would buy it.

His record so far wasn't exactly anything to be brag about.

"Alright ladies, you know the rules." Shirou said as he brushed down the front of his apron. "Now, who wants to go first?"

"You first Sakura." Ayako insisted. "Let's see if Emiya can break his losing streak."

"Ummm, o…ok." Sakura replied, sounding a little embarrassed. "D…do your best Senpai."

"Ok then…" Shirou said as he cracked his knuckled before he assumed a mock serious pose, resting his elbows on the countertop and stroked his chin as he regarded the two teens standing before him for several minutes.

"I got it…" Shirou then announced before he began searching through the tray of assortment of trinkets sitting in front of him and from it produced a pair of earrings, a silver loop from which hung a light blue decoration made from a material that looked like pearl, shaped into a star.

"So, what do you think Sakura?" Shirou asked, "Any good?"

Sakura looked away, hoping hide the deepening blush from the red haired boy behind the counter who had picked out this piece of jewellery for her. Part of her really wanted to say yes, to see the look on his face as she accepted them shiny item that he was offering her. However she shook her head. "S…sorry Senpai."

Hearing this Shirou deflated as he sighed in defeat. "Ahhh, I really thought I had it this time." He groaned.

"Too bad Emiya, your losing streak continues." Ayako said in an amused tone. "Hey Wajima-san, Emiya just struck out again."

"Did he now." The older man said as he poked his head out from a small room located at the back of the store, "Don't worry Shirou-kun, I'll make a salesman out of you yet." With that he returned to his work.

"I'm sorry Senpai," Sakura offered the Homurahara graduate. "They…they were really nice, it's just…"

"Hey hey, no worries." Shirou replied, letting out a sigh he shifted his gaze back to her, a look of determination on his face. "One of these days Sakura, one of these days I'm gonna find the perfect piece for you."

Just then the sound of the front door being opened accompanied by a small bell was heard, catching the attention of Shirou as well the two Homurahara girls. Looking over the small party was met by the sight of Tohsaka Rin standing in the doorway, the dark haired girl wearing a long red coat over the top of her uniform.

"T…Tohsaka-Senpai." Sakura muttered, shifting her gaze toward the floor in an attempt to not make eyes contact with the new arrival.

Across from her Rin's eyes momentarily glanced over in the lavender haired girls direction, as she did she felt a slight tightness in her chest and the emotions that she experienced that morning threatened to once more overwhelm her. However this time she held firm, her pride as a Magus quickly quashing her human weakness, instead choosing to focus her attention on the rust haired male behind the counter.

"T…Tohsaka-san…" Shirou said, surprised by the appearance of Homurahara Academies idol. Doing his best to compose himself then bowed his head. "W…welcome to Omokakedō," He blurted out, "Is there something here that catches your interest or do you want to brows our wares first?"

"Nice going Emiya, real salesman like." Ayako muttered in a sarcastic manner.

"Geeze Emiya, have you always been such a dork." Rin said, flipping a loose strand of hair out of her eyes and behind her ear. "I placed an order with Wajima, I'm here to collect it. Even you should be able to manage that."

"…" Shirou said nothing, choosing to instead to shoot her a look of mock hurt before shifting his attention over to the small area off to the side that Wajima was working in. "Yo, old man. You got a visitor."

Hearing his employees calling out to him Wajima poked his head out of his back room, his gaze instantly falling upon the dark haired teen clad in her long red coat. "Rin-chan, it's been so long since you came to visit me." He greeted her warmly. "I can still remember when you were a little girl, holding Tokiomi's hand when he came to visit."

"Nice to see you too Wajima." Rin replied, wanting to change the subject as quickly as possible. "I have to say your choice of employee leaves a lot to be desired."

"Mou…that's mean of you Rin-chan. Shirou-kun just needs some more refinement, he'll be a top grade salesman before you know it." He then momentarily glanced over in Sakura and Ayako's direction. "Besides he's proven to be surprisingly popular with some of the customers."

"Tsk, if you say so." Rin scoffed. "I'm here to collect my order, it is ready for pick up?"

"Of course, I'll be just a moment." Wajima replied, "Shirou-kun, watch the store till I get back."

With that the older man then walked over to another room in the back to look for the Tohsaka heiress's order, as he did so the sound of footsteps was head as a young girl with black hair tied back in low pigtails, and golden-brown eyes clan in an oversized white t-shirt and beige baggy shorts descended the staircase that led to the upper part of the building.

This girl's name was Miyu and she was, supposedly, Wajima's niece. Apparently her parents were going through a rough period and her uncle had generously allowed for her to stay with him until it was sorted out.

Rin however took issue with this explanation since as far as she knew Wajima had no other family, or if he had her father hadn't mentioned them to her. Then there was Miyu herself, she couldn't explain it but something about the girl gave her a weird feeling, like there was something…off about her.

"Hello there Miyu-chan." Sakura greeted the young girl as she approached.

"H…hello…" Miyu mumbled awkwardly before she walked over to Shioru and tugged on his sleeve. Once she had his attention she then produced a folded piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to him.

"For me?" Shirou asked a he took the piece of paper and unfolded on, turning away to make sure that none of the Homurahara girls couldn't see what was on it. After a few seconds he turned back to Miyu and smiled warmly at her as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll take care of it."

Hearing this Miyu gave the rust haired young man a nod of her head before turning on her heel and departed without a word, heading straight backup stairs without acknowledging the small party of Academy students that watched as she departed.

No sooner had Miyu disappeared Wajima emerged from the back room, bringing with him a small bag made from velvet in his hand. As he approached he noticed that Shioru was folding up a piece of paper, the red haired young man tapped on it with a finger a few times as if to emphasize its presence before slipping it into his pocket.

Wajima didn't say anything in response, instead shooting his employee a quick and long established look of acknowledgement before turning his focus back on the visitors that were gathered around the counter.

"Here you are Rin-chan." He said as he handed the velvet bag over to the Tohsaka heiress. "I hope these will be to your liking."

"I have no doubt." Rin replied as she reached into her coat for her purse before counting out the money that she and the store's owner had agreed upon. "My father never had any complaints so I have no reason to doubt you."

"Ah you flatter me Rin-chan." Wajima smiled before letting out a small sigh. "However now that our business has concluded you'll probably be on your way, you never seem to have time to visit me anymore."

"I…I'm sorry, I'm really busy these days and will be for the foreseeable future I'm afraid." Rin replied, "But once I get some free time I'll do my best to visit more often."

Wajima chuckled at this. "I'm looking forward to it." he told her.

"Hey Tohsaka, you're not leaving already are you." Ayako called out, as if to remind both the dark haired girl and the store owner that they were still there. "Hey Emiya, you should try picking out something for Tohsaka here. Maybe you'll have more luck with her than you did with Sakura."

"Excuse me?" Rin said as she turned her attention to the brunette. "What are you talking about?"

"It's a game Sakura and I play with Emiya here." Ayako replied. "Come on, it'll be fun. Side's your probably the only one of us that can actually afford to buy anything from here."

"I don't know about this Mitsuzuri." Shirou said to here, "I don't mind doing this with you and Sakura but you shouldn't force Tohsaka into this if she doesn't want to."

"I don't think so." Rin said firmly, "I don't really have the time to waste doing things like this."

"Really, that's too bad. Actually I am curious as to what Shirou-kun will pick out for you." Wajima said thoughtfully as he rubbed his chin. "Come on Rin-chan, do it for me."

Rin let out a sigh. "Fine, just this once." She said before she marched over to the counter. "Well come on then Emiya, let's see what you got."

"Right." Shirou said, rubbing his hands together before he once again assumed his mock serious pose, taking a minute to study the dark haired girl in front of him, he couldn't help but notice that she was doing her best not to look him in the eye as well as sporting a faint pinkness in her cheeks.

"Ok, I think I've got it…" Shirou said before he ducked down behind the counter and pulled out another tray that was hidden beneath it before he searching through it, before long he found what he was looking for and held it up for all to see: a golden chain with a small faux ruby charm shaped like a heart attached to it.

"W…wow Senpai." Sakura exclaimed, "It's really pretty."

"Can't argue here." Ayako added, "That might be the nicest thing you've pulled yet Emiya."

"Glad you both think so." Shirou replied before returning his attention to the dark haired teen standing before him, "So Tohsaka what do you think, any good?"

Rin said nothing as she regarded the piece of jewellery that Shirou had picked out for her before shifting her gaze to the young man himself. Looking at him a surge of emotion bubbled up from within her, ones quite different to what she felt when she'd had seen Sakura upon entering the store. It was however futile as her Magus side held strong against her traitorous heart, no matter how much she would have wanted otherwise.

"…as if." She said in a stern tone, turning her back on him. "You really think something cheap like that is gonna impressed me?"

"Wow, 0 for 2 Emiya," Ayako said as the rust haired boy once again deflated in defeat. "I don't think I've ever seen anyone with such bad luck."

Rin couldn't help but roll her eyes as she pocketed her newly acquired gems. "Now, unless there's any other nonsense you want me to partake in, I'll be taking my leave." She spoke up. "I have other things I really need to be doing. Plus with all the crazy stuff that's been going on lately I want to be home before it gets dark." She looked over in Wajima's direction. "Wajima, always a pleasure. I'll do my best to drop by sometime soon."

"I'm looking forward to it Rin-chan." The older man replied.

With nothing left for her to do Rin offered him a polite nod before making her way to the door and stepped out into the early evening.

Once the dark haired girl had closed the door behind her Wajima then turned his attention over at both Sakura and Ayako. "As much as I enjoy your visits it's probably best that you both be on your way as well." He told the two girls. "Given the string of murders that have happened as of late with you should both get home before it gets dark, I'd hate for anything to happen to you both."

"Yeah I guess, everyday there seems to be more reports about gas leaks not to mention all the people that have gone missing as of late. And don't get me started on the serial killer that's said to be roaming around." Ayako sighed. "Ah well, good to see you Wajima-san, you too Emiya. Guess I'll catch you next time."

"Y…yes." Sakura added before shifting her gaze towards Shirou who was returning both trays of trinkets back below the counter. "Umm Senpai, if it's not any trouble for you, I was wondering if I could come by the manor later. I found a new recipe and wondering if you'd help me try it out."

"Sorry Sakura, but I can't tonight." Shirou replied, sounding apologetic. "Wajima needs me to run some errands for him once we close up for the night. I'm probably not gonna be home until real late."

"O…ohh. I see." Sakura said, disappointment evident in her voice as she shifted her gaze towards her shoes as she tried to hide her feelings of disappointment and embarrassment. "S…sorry to bother you."

"Hey, no need to be so down." Shirou said kindly. "Rain check ok."

Hearing his tone the lavender haired school girl looked back at him. "Y…yeah." She replied. "Rain check."

Meanwhile outside Tohsaka Rin was making her way down the street, above her dark clouds began rolling in and covering the sky. Muttering a curse she quickened her pace as she headed towards the nearest bus stop, she had another long night of prep work ahead of her and with the Holy Grail War almost here the last thing she needed was to get sick because she got caught out in the rain.

With any luck she'd make it home before the worst of it set in.

Another night had descended across the city of Fuyuki along with surrounding area, the darkened sky's hidden behind dark clouds from which a merciless blanket of rain descended upon all those below who were unfortunate enough to find themselves without shelter in its unending barrage.

One such unfortunate individual whom happened to be clad in hooded robe who found themselves in the thick wooded area located the western area of the city in which housed a sizable Buddhist temple atop a long flight of stone stairs.

Moving unsteadily through the trees the hooded woman bit her lip as she stumbled forward, pain emanating from a nasty looking wound in her chest and spread through her body, she had no knowledge of her surroundings nor any destination in mind. All she knew was that she needed to get as far away from here as possible.

So focused on this task that she didn't notice an exposed tree root sticking out of the ground until her foot made contact with it, resulting in her losing her balance and she was sent sprawling to the ground. She lay there, the rain pelting against her body from above and dirt from the ground below soiling her dress.

Medea of Colchis, daughter of King Aeëtes of Colchis. Niece of Circe and the granddaughter of the sun god Helios. One time wife of the legendary hero Jason, for whom she abandoned everything for only to be betrayed when he in turn abandoned her for Creusa, and member of group known as the Argonauts. Her tale immortalised by Euripides in which she took the lives of the sons that she bore from Jason's seed. A woman of legend reborn into the modern world under the class of Caster cursed her existence.

Was this really it, was her story about to come to yet another pathetic end? Even now, despite the old Gods having long since departed from this world, was she still to be nothing more then a mere plaything bound to the whims of a cruel and unescapable fate? Betrayed and all alone in an unfeeling and uncaring world?

"There you are," A voice rang out, one that made the hooded woman to mutter a curse, one in a tongue long since lost to time. "Gotta say, you're a pretty slippery one."

Pushing through the pain that racked her being, the hooded woman looked over to glare defiantly at her pursuer, her eyes met by the sight of a man standing a short distance from her with blue hair pulled back into a ponytail clad in a skin tight blue body suit with blue detailing and a pauldron on each shoulder. The most notable thing about him however was the long red and deadly looking spear that he at present had resting against one of his shoulders whom at present was standing on the branch of a nearby tree.

"Gotta hand it to ya Missy, you almost managed to give me the slip." The blue clad man said before he jumped down from his perch and landed on the ground. "I really had to work to track you down, pretty impressive for someone in your current state."

Caster said nothing to him, choosing to instead glare at him in defiance. Despite the pain and her pathetic state that she currently found herself in was in she would not give her pursuer the satisfaction of showing weakness.

"Hey, what's with that look? I get it, you hate me but we both know what this is and what we're here for." The man said in a tone of mild irritation as he slowly approached her. "Look I dunno if this is gonna mean anything to ya but before I kill you I just want you to know that this ain't personal, who knows in another time or place we might even have gotten along just fine, laughing it up in a bar somewhere over a few drinks. I mean it's not that it's gonna stop me from doing my job but I'm just sayin that we're bound and subject to the whims of others. Well maybe not you so much, given that I walked in on you killing your own Master."

If it were possible Caster glared even harder at the man who was approaching her, despite the distain she felt towards him she could not deny the words that he was speaking. Why would she when they were true.

The Magus responsible for summoning her, Atrum Galliasta, was the embodiment of everything that she despised. For all his arrogance and distain for those around him, not to mention his very obviously misogynistic ideas when it came to women, she saw through him and saw him for who he was: a weak and petty man that took pleasure in the suffering that could be inflicted on others. Something clearly present in his family's brand of Magecraft that required human sacrifice to power it.

Maybe it was the sight of him using captive children was what finally sealed the man's fate, seeing them as nothing more than a resource to be used and discarded for the meagre amount of crystalized prana that they could provide him.

Ironic given that she had been responsible for ending the lives of her own children, however Atrum's methods were callous and uncaring whilst what she'd done had been done so out of love, or at least that was how she perceived it. Whilst most assumed that the murder of her sons had been done purely out spite for her traitorous husband in her mind she'd done so in order to spare them from a future in which they might follow in the footsteps of the bastard who had used and abandoned her.

Unwilling to disgrace herself serving a man she despised the Greek antihero chose to bide her time, assuming the role of a docile and obedient follower all the while manipulating him into squandering his Command Seal's, three stigmata that symbolised his position as a Master as well as three absolute commands that she had no choice but to obey without question or hesitation, on a variety of frivolous things.

The second that his last Seal was gone she'd sprang into action, using an artefact unique to her known as Rule Breaker to sever the contact between them before taking his life, watching in satisfaction as his pathetic life drained away from him.

She wasn't given much time to enjoy the results of her efforts however, her former's Master's body was still warm when mere moments after she committed the act Lancer had arrive to find her standing over Atrum's burning corpse and leading to situation in which she now found herself in.

At first she'd managed to evade him, her powerful magic's able to keep him on the defensive for a time however he proved to be relentless and without a Master to support her whatever remained of Atrum's Prana that she used to maintain her existence slowly slipped away putting her at a powerful disadvantage, unable now to cast any spells as to conserve what energy she had left.

Just as Lancer was mere inches away from her when a loud noise filled the air accompanied by a bright light erupted from the tree line, catching the attention of both Caster and Lancer both of whom looked over just in time to see a chrome and gold motorcycle with a red crystal like windshield mounted to it headlight emerge from out from the woods, its rider driving towards Lancer, forcing him to leapt back in order to avoid being run down, approaching the edge of the clearing where the rider brought the vehicle to a halt.

No sooner had the bike stopped the rider who was clad in a leather jacket worn over a white shirt and blue unseated themselves from the machine, removing their helmet to reveal the face of a young man with rust red hair and golden eyes, an oversized ring adorning the middle finger of both hands, took a moment to regard both Caster and Lancer before reached into leather jacket and pulled out a pieces of paper, inspecting it before pulling back his sleeve to check his watch.

"Yeah, looks like the right place and just in time too." He said, more to himself than to the two Servants that were only a short distance away from him. "Guess I owe Miyu big for this. Again."

"Oi oi, who the heck are you?" Lancer demanded. "Case and you haven't notice, me and her have something going on here and I'm pretty sure that you're not invited."

"Yeah, I get that." The rust haired young man replied as he hung his helmet on one of his bikes handlebars. He then shifted his gaze over in Caster's direction. "I see, you're the one I'm supposed to save."

Caster stared back at the young man, taken aback by his words. Did she hear him correctly, did he really just say that he was here to save her? Was he serious or was this yet another cruel joke the world sought to play on her.

"Why don't you beat it already kid," Lancer said sternly, pointing his weapon in the newcomer's direction. "I don't have time for you."

"Really, that's make two of us." Shirou replied before he swiped a hand across his hand shaped belt buckle around his waist and, to the robe clad woman and blue haired man's surprise, a voice was heard.

Driver On, Please!

The stone embedded onto the ring flashed before light engulfed the belt, transforming it into a silver metal belt with the hand marking in the center much bigger than before with switches on either side of it. It had a chain attached to it that had many different rings attached.

Shirou then reached down to the belt itself and pushed the switches causing the hand to move from pointing to his right side to pointing to his left side. A glowing magic circle lit up and to both Servant's surprise and oddly jazzy sounding jingle filled the air.

Shabadoobi Touch to Henshin! Shabadoobi Touch to Henshin! Shabadoobi Touch to Henshin!

"So what's say we make this quick." Shirou said as he held up his left hand showing the ruby ring. Pressing a hidden mechanism on it, he pushed a metal piece siding down over the stone, making it look like a face with large eyes on it before he slid the Hand shaped plate on the belt from right to left and swiping the ring on his hand across it.

"Henshin…" He announced before reaching out with his hand as a large red circle that contained intricate looking symbols and runes that glowed with red energy manifested in the air beside him and passed over him.

Flame, Please! Hi-Hi, Hi-Hi-Hi!

Its task complete the magic circle vanished, revealing that Shioru's appearance had changed.

From head to toe he was clad in a black bodysuit, which concealed his form. The silver belt and chain of rings at his side stayed the same, but the rest was different. His chest was covered in red gem-like armor, which was a long line down the middle with three sections on each side that were rectangular, but slightly askew. His shoulders were covered in black armor with silver edges that were decorated with Dragon-like crests.

From his waist hung a robe-like waist covering which was red on the inside but black on the outside. His wrists and ankles sported bands that were the same ruby red as his chest plate. Finally, his head was concealed by a silver helmet which had a ruby red faceplate decorated like the ring he wore, sporting metal lines making it appear as if it had large eyes with antennae rising from the forehead.

"Wh…what the hell?" Lancer exclaimed, taken aback by the new comer's change of appearance. "I gotta say kid that's a pretty neat trick. But don't go thinking that that armor of yours is gonna make you a match for me?"

Whilst she wouldn't say it aloud Caster had to agree, this form of Magecraft or Mystic Code was was something entirely new to her. However she had her doubts whether her supposed savoir could compete with an Heroic Spirit such as Lancer.

Despite being a Magus from the Age of Gods and having access to and knowledge of magic's that bordered on the fantastical she knew of no Magecraft or Mystic Code that would allow for the creation of such a suit of armor that that was would allow its wearer to compete with the strengths and abilities of a Heroic Spirit.

This young man, he was either brave or foolish.

"Maybe I do." The armored figure replied. "Care to test that out?"

"Cocky bastard ain't ya." Lancer scoffed. "Just who the hell do you think you are?"

"I go by a couple of names," The armored figure replied as he slipped a new ring onto his right hand before he flipped the hand plate on his belt back to the right and scanned the new ring. "But for simplicity sake you can call me…Kamen Rider Wizard."

Connect, Please!

Seconds later a second magical circle formed and reaching into it Wizard produced an oddly designed looking sword that had a similar plate shaped like a closed hand and what looked to be a trigger attached to its hilt. His weapon now in hand, Wizard gave it a flourish before pointing it in Lancer's direction.

"Saa, show time."

AN And with that another chapter in this series of adventures is fini.

So yeah, Wizard. Not my favorite Rider show, the first 9 episodes were really good but after episode 11 the whole show ran face first into a wall and never really recovered. Its another show that had some really interesting ideas but was ultimately it was let down by weak writing, weak execution, cast bloat, Gremlin being a terrible final villain and don't get me started on the whole botched relationship with Haruto and the Dragon Phantom (I get they were going for the whole Naruto Kurama thing where their relationship is super antagonistic through most of the story but Naruto/Haruto is able to eventually win Kurama/Dragon over however it doesn't really work very well and Dragon's animosity towards Haruto just kind of vanishes without any real set up or build up).

Still its got Nitou/Kamen Rider Beast in it, the guy who arguably got way better development then the main character. Also Wizard was the first Rider show I watched beginning to end as it was airing so there's that at least.

Well regardless of what you all thought about Wizard as a show I hope you all got a kick out of this one.

So yeah there's a couple of changes from canon F/SN story, obviously the main thing here is that Shirou in this story is older here than he is canon whilst everyone else is their canonical ages, as to why I went Also from here Shirou would go onto make a contract with Medea instead of being Artoria's Master, don't worry she still gets summoned and has a role to play.

So yeah Miyu from Fate/Kaleid is in this, she's got Koyomi role in this story, just minus the weird kinda romance that Haruto and Koyomi were supposed to have but didn't really work, which also means that's Fueki's daughter as well as being a dead body that's being animated by the Philosopher's Stone that hidden within her.

As for which characters from Wizard would make it into this story, Nitou (AKA best boy), Wajima and Fueki as well as Medusa, Phoenix and Gremlin Phantoms are pretty much the only Wizard characters that definitely would be showing up. Although thinking about it dropping not using certain of characters would mean that certain elements from from Wizard such as the story with Medusa Phantom is kinda gonna be hard to implement since her whole story was tied in with her sister Mayu who became a Mage towards the end of the show.

However Wizard and Beast wouldn't be the only Magical Riders to show up in this. Given her classes affinity for item creation, I could see Medea being able to replicate the Wizard Driver without any real problem along with some Rings of her own design and allowing her to assume the mantle of Kamen Rider Witch whilst later on Rin, Sakura and Saber would become become the Earth Mage, Water Mage and Wind Mage respectively.

Funnily enough Kamen Rider Witch was apparently something that almost happened in the TV show. According to an episode of a podcast called Henshin Justice Unlimited that I listened to years ago, I doubt you can find it anymore, that whilst during the early part of Wizard there were listings for Kamen Rider Witch instead of Beast, someone on the podcast theorized that Mayu might have been planned to originally be the secondary Rider but got demoted in favor of Nitou.

I also hope you all liked the part with Rin at the start, I also hope how she was portrayed in the scene at Omokakedō wasn't too much, I was trying to portray her as struggles against the two sides of her life. Despite her act of being a quote unquote proper Mage, Rin strikes me as someone who has a hard time balancing her humanity with being a Magus. Much like Shirou, she's someone whose distortion runs deep. Mostly due to that unlike her scumbag of a father Rin can't/won't give up her humanity.

Also yes, the thing of her regarding the photo of herself, Sakura and their mother as her most treasured possession is basically me setting Rin up to be a target for the Phantoms. In fact she'd be the first target of the Phantoms that we'd see Shirou deal with and would be how both Medea and Rin would be introduced to and gets involved in dealing with the Phantom along with being apart of the Holy Grail War.

Also I'm curious what you all thought of Wajima having ties to Rin's family, given that in the show he was the one who made all of Haruto's ring from magical stones and the Tohsaka clan's brand of Magecraft involves gems it at least made sense to me that you could work in a connection. Plus being connected to the Tohska family would mean he'd know about Sakura, he'd probably wouldn't know the whole truth but he'd know enough to point Shirou in the right direction and learning the truth about Sakura and the Matou/Makiri clan. I can imagine Wizard and Rin travelling into Sakura's Underworld in an attempt to save her from falling into despair where they find a writhing mass of Crest Worms with Dark Sakura upper body sticking out of it. This could this mass of worms is her Phantom or the piece of a corrupted Grail inside of her ate her Phantom. Either way Sakura gets rescued and Shirou gets to keep his promise in finding the perfect piece of jewelry for her, it just so happens that piece of jewelry is a Wizard Ring.

Also since Wizard is a show that has a focus on magic you could make connections between it and Fate. One idea is that Fueki could be a Mage whose was part the Clock Tower who created the Wizard Driver as device that channels and amplifies a persons prana through which they can cast spells that are encoded into the Wizard Rings but abandoned it all after his daughter got sick and eventually died which caused him to fall into despair. He's also a Master for the Grail War, he doesn't care about the Grail but he want's to use it as a battery to power the Philosophers Stone that keeping Miyu's body alive.

I'm also toying with the idea of Bazett becoming a Phantom, would have she fallen into despair after being betrayed and left for dead by Kirei. She wouldn't be one or the major Phantoms but it could be an interesting story for her and Lancer where she's got a vendetta against him for not being there when she was betrayed by Kirei and he has to deal with his former Master.

But still poor Bazett, she just can't catch a break. In the Ryuki chapter she gets eaten by a Mirror Monster and here she falls into despair and becomes a Phantom.

And then you've got Saber, given her history and the motivations behind her wish seems only logical that she'd be targeted by the Phantoms. I can literally picture a scene with her and Phoenix who tells her that she drowns in her own despair and via visiting her Underworld along with Shirou Saber is reminded of why she wanted to become King in the first place as well accept her choices and let go of her past.

Anywhoo I'm done for now so feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you thought of this one. Also I finished the Decade chapter and done some work on the Gaim chapter, I've also started work on the Den-O chapter so that's something for you all to look forward to. The next chapter will be the fourth installment in my Fate/Ghost story and you'll get to see how Shirou became Kamen Rider Ghost.

Till then, peace out y'all
