Chapter?: Exterminate Time

1994
It was a warm day in the city of Fuyuki, the rays of the afternoon sun beating down upon the residence of the city below. Many of whom were out and taking advantage of the glorious sunshine. Amongst them were a pair of individuals who certainly stood out from the cities normal residence.

The first was a pale skinned woman with long silvery hair and blood red eyes clad in a simple white sundress with a yellow pattern on the chest. Accompanying her was an equally foreign looking woman with blond hair that was tied back into a ponytail save for a pair of bangs that framed the sides of her face, green eyes and was clad in a smart looking black suit. Both women at present found themselves strolling through a large park area that was located at the centre of the Shinto District.

Despite being on high alert for any threat that they might come across Saber couldn't help but be somewhat amused by the pure joy that Irisviel was radiating as she practically danced and skipped along the path, given that the majority of her life had been spent in the secluded depths of Germany it wasn't surprising that she took great joy in being able to partake in simple everyday things that many others would take for granted.

In this case taking a simple stroll through the park on a sunny afternoon.

Just then Irisviel came to a sudden halt, her breath heavier than usual as sweat began to drip down her pale skin. "Ohhh, ohh my." The pale skinned woman gasped as she began fanning herself with one of her hands.

"Irisviel, are you alright?" the blond haired Servant inquired, suddenly concerned for the wellbeing of the pale skinned woman that she was accompanying.

"D…don't worry, I am fine Saber," Iri replied, offering the Servant of the Sword a small smile. "It's just warm out today."

Saber sighed. "Master warned you that the weather here get a lot warmer then what you are used to." She said in a strict teacher like fashion.

"Yes mother." Iri retorted indignantly, her choice of words causing a frown to appear on Saber's face, seeing this Iri's features instantly shifted to an apologetic look. "I…I'm sorry Saber, that was unfair of me."

Saber shook her head. "It's fine. Maybe it would be best if we returned to the house." The blond haired Servant offered, her frown still present. "This location isn't exactly secure, it would be a perfect spot to be ambushed by an enemy Servant."

"But it's too nice of a day to stay cooped up inside." Irisviel replied, pouting as she did so. "Besides the sun is out and you already said that you don't sense any of the other remaining Servants nearby. So what's the harm in enjoying ourselves a little whilst we can?"

Saber couldn't help but sigh again. For someone who looked like an adult there were times where Irisviel could be such a child. "Just because I cannot sense them does not mean that they we can let our guard down. A shrewd enemy knows to take advantage of their opponent's complacency and laxness."

"And if they do make a move against us I know that you will repel them." The Einzbern homunculus retorted, a look of total seriousness, "I have full confidence in your abilities Saber."

"Irisviel…" The ex-King replied, not sounding convinced by her pale skinned companion's words.

Just then Iri's face shifted into a more playful look. "Also Saber, I'm a little thirsty." The pale skinned woman said to her companion. "I think we passed a vending machine a little ways back. Would mind getting me something to drink?"

"Really Irisviel." Saber said in a serious tone, shooting her companion that matched the tone of her voice. "I may be a Servant but I that does not make me your maid or attendant, you cannot expect me to follow such a trivial order."

"Please Saber, pretty please." Iri said in girlish tone as she brought her hands together in prayer like manner. "I promise that I'm perfectly capable of looking after myself until you get back."

Saber sighed deeply as she shook her head. "Yare yare. Very well, I shall do as you ask." She replied. "In the meanwhile you should go find a place to sit and wait for me, preferably in the shade. I shall be back with you post haste."

With that the two of them parted, Saber heading back the way that they had come from when Irisviel continued on down the path. Following it a little further it didn't take long before the pale skinned Einzbern woman came across a bench, one that happened to be located across from a play area where several children were playing. Some of whom playing on the jungle gym whilst others were running around in a wide open space nearby, playing some game that involved chasing each other.

As she watched them Irisviel allowed herself to imagine her own daughter, Illyasviel, was amongst the group of children that were running around, envisioning her chasing after with the other children, laughing and smiling as she did so.

It was all so joyous. And yet it was also bittersweet as deep down she knew that, given the nature of both her and her child's existence, she was well aware that neither of them had the luxury of a normal life. Maybe when her beloved Kiritsugu managed to obtain the Holy Grail and used it's power to create a perfect world then perhaps Illya might have a chance to spend her days living like any other child, to be free of the duty/curse of the Einzberns. Sadly, Irisviel knew very well that she would not live to share in this future.

"Looks like they're having a lot of fun aren't they?" Iri practically jumped out of her skin as all of a sudden a voice coming from close by was heard.

Looking over was met by the sight of a Japanese woman clad in an elegant looking black dress, the pale skinned homunculus inwardly berating herself for not realizing sooner that someone else was sitting on the bench beside her.

"Y…yes," She replied. "I…I'm sorry, I didn't notice you there."

"Its quite alright, no harm done." The woman in the black dress replied as she turned to look at Irisviel. "So which one of them is yours?"

"E…excuse me?" Irisviel said, confused as to what her new companions was inquiring about. "I'm not sure I understand."

"The children of course, I was asking which one of them is yours." The woman in the black dress inquired. "Why else would you be here?"

"Oh, I…I'm not here with my child." Iri replied, sounding a little flustered. "I do have a one, I have a daughter, however she's not here with me."

"Oh," The woman in the black dress said inquisitively, cocking an eyebrow. "Not to sound nosey but why not?"

"I accompanied my husband here on business, however due to the nature of his work we couldn't bring our daughter with us." Iri replied, her smile shifting into a look of longing. "I was out for a walk when I noticed the children playing and I couldn't help but start thinking about my little girl. I really do miss her…"

"I can understand that, it's amazing how quickly children can become your whole world. I don't think I could stand to be away from mine for too long." The woman in black replied, a warm smile spreading across her painted lips. "I'm here with my son, I wasn't planning on bringing him here originally but he's such a ball of energy at times that he couldn't keep still."

"My Illya's like that too." Irisivel said, her smile returning to her face. "It's too bad that she's not here, I bet she and your son would look really cute playing together." Both women couldn't help but chuckle warmly at this.

Despite her best efforts to appear calm, on the inside Irisviel was practically giddy at, even if it were for just a fleeting moment, getting to act like a normal person, in this case getting to sit down and idly chat with a friend.

Friends… Irisviel didn't have any friends.

Whilst many might call her naive due to the nature of her upbringing the Enizbern homunculus wasn't stupid, she was well aware that, despite how amicable she was towards her, Saber was not her friend. The only reason the blond haired Servant spent her time accompanying her was because she'd been ordered to by Iri's husband and Saber's true Master, Emiya Kiritsugu.

At first it had been to sell the deception to the other participants of the Grail War that she was the Master of Saber whilst Kiritsugu remained hidden, preferring to deal with the other Master's from the shadows.

And then, after her true Master's identity became common knowledge to the others, the protection granted to Irisviel thanks to the ruse of her being Saber's Master instantly vanished, leaving her at the mercy of the other Masters now that they knew that she had no power to command Saber. Now the Servant of the Sword only stuck by her out of obligation, her code of being a knight and pride as a King would not allow her to come to harm.

Then there was her husband's associate Maiya who couldn't call friend either, in fact there were times she was certain that the dark haired assassin didn't like all that much. What the dark haired woman's relationship with Kiritsugu was was something that Iri couldn't really pin down but what she did know for sure was that Maiya was fiercely loyal to her husband and, much like Saber who's companionship with her was due to some code of honour, Maiya only associated with and was pleasant towards her due to her loyalty to Kiritsugu.

"Mamma…Mamma…" A voice suddenly called out accompanied by the sound of hurried footsteps, snapping Irisviel back to reality, looking over both she and the women seated beside her were greeted by the sight of a young boy, who looked to be around six, running towards them clad in dirty and ruffled looking clothes. Within seconds he'd closed the distance and was before them, gazing up at the woman in the black dress with a big smile on his face.

"Taiga, your clothes are all dirty." The woman in the black dress said in a disapproving tone. "I've told you before not to go rolling around in the dirt."

The boy shrank slightly at the tone of his mother voice. "I…I'm sorry Mamma." He said in a small voice, looking away from her as not to meet her gaze.

The woman in black let out a small chuckle and a smile spread across her lips as she reached out at placed her hand atop his head. "Now, where are your manners Taiga?" She said as she attempted to smooth down the boy's hair. "Say hello to Mamma's new friend."

Hearing this the boy then looked over in Irisviel's direction allowing her to get a good look at him, doing so Irisviel couldn't help but notice that not only that he appeared to be a few years younger than Illya but also his rust coloured hair and the pair of bright golden eyes that looked back at her.

After looking back at her for a few seconds, the boy identified as Taiga quickly averted his gaze and shifted his position behind his mother's legs, as if trying to hide behind her. "Taiga." She spoke up, "Is there something wrong, she's not scaring you is she?"

"N…no Mamma." Taiga replied as he peered out from behind his mother's legs and looked back over at Irisviel. "H…hello…" He membered slyly.

"Hello," Iri replied warmly, giving him a kind smile. "It's nice to meet you Taiga." The young boy however once again tried not to look directly at her. "Is something wrong?"

"N…no…" He replied as his gold eyes met her red one. "You…you look really pretty."

"O…ohh, oh my. W...well, umm, thank you." Iri said, a light pinkness adorning her cheeks. She then smiled at the young boy a warmly. "You look quite handsome yourself."

Hearing this Taiga's face flushed red and he quickly went back to try hiding behind his mother's legs, the woman in the black dress let out an amused chuckle at this. "I'm sorry, I just realized that never asked to inquire your name." She said as she looked back over at the pale skinned homunculus.

"Oh me," Iri replied as she shifted her gaze to the woman in black. "Irisviel. My name is Irisviel."

"Irisviel, that's certainly not a common name you hear every day." The woman in black said. "Nice to meet you Irisviel."

All of a sudden the sky above darkened and looking around Iri noticed that, mother grabbing their children and holding them close whilst looking towards the sky. Shifting her gaze skywards Iri's eyes widened and her breath caught itself in her throat as she was greeted by the sight of thousands of bat, so many they blocked out the sun, all flying in a formation that created a pattern in the sky.

The symbol of Kiva.

"My Lady…" A voice caught the pale skinned homunculus's attention, her head she was met by the sight of a rather sickly looking man clad in black clothing with a white muffler draped over his shoulders, his head was topped with greasy looking black hair and wire framed glasses adorned his face.

"B…Bishop…" Iri exclaimed, taken aback by the man's sudden appearance.

Bishop however paid her no mind, his attention firmly affixed to the woman in the black dress who's continued to idly play with her son's hair. "We should be going, surely you've more important things to do then to waste your day being amongst the humans." The greasy looking man said to the woman in black, a note of disgust in his voice. "You of all must know the responsibilities of your position…Queen."

Once again Iri's breath caught itself in her throat as her heart pounded rapidly in her chest as it dawned on her that the person whom she'd been conversing with was the Fangire Queen, member of the Checkmate Four and one of the rulers of the Fangire race.

Queen let out a sigh. "It appears that my time here is up." She said sounding irritated before giving her son a warm smile. "Tiga, we're going home now."

With that she then rose to her feet and, taking her son's hand into her own, turned to look at Irisviel and flashed her a smile. "It was nice meeting you…Irisviel von Enizbern." And with that she turned and, holding on to her son's hand, began to walk away. Bishop shifted his gaze towards Irisviel, giving her a look of disgust before he followed after both the Queen and her son.

As he was led away by his mother, Taiga looked back in Irisviel's direction and gave her a small wave. "Bye bye." He called out.

Despite herself Iriviel managed to wave back at him as she watched the small party drew farther away from her. All of a sudden she was overcome by feelings of being vulnerable, panic setting in as she began to wonder where Saber was and what was taking her so long?

Elsewhere, after parting ways with Irisviel, Saber had made her back along the path in which the two of them had walked along and eventually she'd come across the vending machine that the pale skinned Einzbern had mentioned and was now walking back towards Irisviel at a brisk pace, carrying with her a variety of cans, all of which were of different brands and flavours variety of soda.

It was only upon finding the vending machine that her charge had mentioned did Saber realise that she had no idea what exactly Irisviel would like to drink, after much pondering on the subject she'd decided that the best course of action would be to get several different brands and flavours for Irisviel to pick from.

She was almost at the spot where she and Iri had parted from each other when out of nowhere the sky above darkened and looking up she too noticed the symbol of Kiva flying high above her, the sight of it instantly putting Saber on edge.

Averting her gaze away from the sky Saber quickly began looking around her, her sharp eyes searching for any sign of the nearby presence that she suddenly noticed. "I already know that your there so come out and show yourself." Saber announced, her eyes darting back and forth as she attempted to spot her pursuer.

As she did so she felt a tingling in the back of her neck Saber whirled round and greeted by the site of a man auburn hair standing a few meters away from her, clad in long black leather coat that was adored by several chains worn over the top of a blood red shirt and a red cape hanging over his left shoulder.

"Fangire…" Saber hissed and in surge of prana her smart looking suit vanished from her body, the assortment of soda cans dropping from her arms and clattering to the ground, and her blue battle dress and armor took its place, her invisible sword at the ready as she assumed her fighting stance. The instant that her eyes looked with his the blond haired Servant felt a chill run down her spine.

Since arriving in this city she'd faced off several Fangire but this one…this one was unlike the others. This one seemed to radiated an almost demonic power, one not unlike she'd experienced whilst dealing with the abominations that Caster's had called upon and later merged with prior to his death, only this was far more potent.

"Well well, the Ex-King of Camelot." The auburn haired man said, a smirk forming on his lips. "This is certainly a surprise, although not an unwelcome one. Disposing of you will be a pleasure fit for someone of my station."

"Bite your tongue monster, I will not be intimidated by the likes of you." Saber retorted as she gripped the handle of her weapon tighter, trying her best not to be at taken aback by this man being aware of her true identity. "Just who the hell do you think you are? And how do you know who I am?"

The man let out a cruel sounding laugh. "Don't you know, or perhaps you are so ill educated that you cannot recognize your betters." He said. "You'd so well to mind your tongue when you are in the presence of the true King."

Saber's eyes widened at hearing this, realizing who it was whom stood before her. "K…King…" She exclaimed.

"That's right and now I shall wipe the last remnants of your failed kingdom from this world." The Fangire King said as he pointed towards her before cocking his head to the side. "It's time for you to go extinct."

No sooner had he said these words from out of the sky came a strange looking creature that hovered just before King, its black and red circular body fluttering on leathery looking wings whilst it 'face' was adorned with bat like features with two large yellow eyes and a flap like mouth that featured four sharp looking fangs.

"Rejoice, its extinction time." It announced before flying towards his master who snatched him out of the air and brought him to the hand that bore his mark, the bat then sinking it fangs into his flesh. "GABURI…"

The veins on the auburn haired man's hand turned black and a multi-coloured markings that looked somewhat like of shards of stained appeared on his young man's skin. At the same time ghostly chains magically appeared and wrapped around his waist before melting and becoming a black belt with compartments that held several ornate whistles on the sides and a high pitched noise filling the air.

"Henshin…" King announced before attaching the bat like creature onto a perch in the front of the belt, leaving him hanging upside down and a high-pitched sound filled the air a phantom image of an armored figure appeared around him that morphed and then shattered to reveal his new form like glass and standing there was a figure clad in armor.

His legs where now is in dark metallic crimson boots with silver lining that had blades on the back of the ankles, his torso armour was also the same shade of dark metallic crimson with a black chest plate resembling several pairs of bat wings with three green gems running down the centre, he also gained gauntlets the same colour as his torso and leg armour.

His head was covered with a red helmet with the visor shaped like a pair of green bat wings edged in black, in-between the top points of the wings was a black ornament resembling a bat and two black bat wings came out behind the eyes of the helmet. The mouth guard was dark grey and framed by black fangs. His shoulder armour was spiked and in the same dark metallic crimson as the rest of his armour. After a second he made a wave of his left arm causing black flames to burst from his back and became a midnight black cape.

From their respective positions both the King of Knights and the Fangire King stared back at each other for a few moments. Saber doing her best to keep her face an unreadable mask even as she felt a tingle of fear run down her spine and a cold sweat dripped off of her as the demonic presence radiated off of this man had increased tenfold.

As gazed back her the armored Fangire let out a cruel sounding chuckle before he began to slowly approach the blond haired Servant. "Let the hunting game begin…"

AN And with that another chapter is in the can. Happy Halloween everybody or at least close enough to it anyway.

So yeah, this chapter has us return to the world of Fate/Wake Up although not the same character's this time around. Since the first Kiva chapter starred Shirou, Medusa and Rin it kinda made sense to have the follow up take place during the mid 90's and star some of the Fate/Zero characters given that this story's plot is split between the Fate/Stay Night era and the Fate/Zero era's much like how Kiva's was split between 1986 and 2008.

Two things that I'm curious is 1) how many of you had already guessed that the identity of the person that Iri was talking to before Bishop showed up and revealed them to be Maya aka the Fangire Queen.

2) Your reaction to Shirou being the son of the Fangire King and Queen. You have no idea just how long I've been sitting on that little bit of information. Shirou is a fusion of both Wateru and Taiga aka Kamen Rider Saga and later Dark Kiva III. Also for any of you who are curious, no Kiritsugu had no idea that the child that he rescued during the Fuyuki fire was the son of the Fangire King and Queen.

Also I hope you liked what I did with Irisviel in this chapter, showing her child like joy in getting to do something that normal people take for granted. Her interactions with both Artoria and then with Maya and finally her inner turmoil, knowing what awaits her at the end and yet wanting to believe that by going through with this she can give her child the life that she can never have for herself.

Poor Iri, your one of the few character from Fate/Zero that you just want to see get a happy ending but given her nature as a vessel for the Lesser Grail you know that she can never have one.

Finally that cliffhanger, Saber about to square off against Dark Kiva, then again I already said in the first Fate/Wake Up chapter that Saber gets shit stomped by him Dark Kiva thus leading to her blind hatred of Kiva which you can imagine is gonna have pretty big ramifications for her relationship with Shirou once she finds out who he is during the Stay/Night era.

Before I sign off idea I was toying with whilst writing this is that in a later part of the story is having Sakura becomes this stories version of Dark Kiva III whilst at the same time having Rin become Kamen Rider Kivala. What do you all think, good idea? Having Rin and Sakura become Kivala and Dark Kiva respectively during the Stay/Night era would fill out of the Rider cast out a along with Shirou as Kiva and EMIYA as Ixa. That just leaves Kamen Rider Saga but I'm not sure who'd get that roll and it would be a shame to leave him out if only cos he's got a really cool suit.

And with that I'm done for now. As always feel free to leave your feedback and if you've got any questions don't be afraid to ask them, see you all in November in which you'll be getting three chapter instead of two due to how the calendar has lined up.

Till next time, peace out y'all.
