Chapter?: The Rampaging Leviathan
Shirou grit his teeth as he steered his Ride Vendor through the streets of Shinto, as he did so he felt Tohsaka grip him tighten slightly but knew better than to comment on it.
Close behind a second Ride Vendor followed after them, this one being driven by Saber with Ankh seated behind her.
Above them the colossal mass of medals in the shape of a creature that looked to be a Plesiosaur hovered high above them as it 'swam' through the air of the downtown area, the creature letting out a whale like cry as its flippers crashing through nearby buildings sending debris tumbling to the ground.
"Damnit, this thing is out of control. Maki's really gone too far this time." Rin hissed, "We need to do something before it wrecks the entire city."
Shirou didn't reply, instead choosing to focus on the road ahead of him, however despite his silence he had to agree with Rin. Just what was the rogue doctor's end goal here? Just then a new thought popped into his head, one that sent a chill down his spine, was this Maki's attempt to create a brand new Greeed?
"Shirou, above you…" All of a sudden the sound of Saber's grabbed his attention, Shirou and Rin quickly turned their gaze upwards, both teens seeing a large pile of debris from one of the large buildings that had been knocked loose as one of the leviathans' large flippers effortlessly cut through it.
Muttering a curse Shirou gripped the handles of his bike and twisted them, urging the vehicle to swerve in an effort to avoid the mass of concrete as it slammed into the road shattering into smaller chunks and kicking up a cloud of dust.
Swerving to and fro Shirou tried his best to steer the bike managing to avoid the falling debris, Rin's grip on his tightening as he did so, when all of a sudden a large chunk of building suddenly fell on the road in front of them.
Seeing this Shirou twisted the bike's handles again resulting in it skidding across the tarmac in an attempt to bring it to a halt. This however wasn't enough, despite his best efforts Shirou's reaction time hadn't been quick enough to allow them to stop in time.
Before the pair slammed into the block a barrage of glowing red projectiles tearing through the air, zipping past Shirou and Rin connecting with the block of debris, reduced the falling rocks into the smaller chunks of rubble.
No sooner had the block been destroyed Shirou's Ride Vendor came to a stop, both of its occupants panting heavily. "D…damn," Shirou gasped, "That was too close…"
Just then Rin punched the rust haired boy in the arm. "Damn you Emiya." She hissed, shooting Shirou a stern glare.
"Ow," Shirou uttered, shooting his dark haired passenger as he rubbed his arm. "What the hell Tohsaka?"
"You're driving almost got us flattened, that's what." Rin shot back before she dismounted the Ride Vendor.
Seconds later the second Ride Vendor came to a halt beside them. "Shirou, Rin," Saber said as she pulled her helmet off of her head. "Are you two alright?"
"Yeah, yeah we're fine." Rin informed the blond. "Although, thanks to Emiya's driving, I think I might have lost a few years of my life back there."
"Tsk, annoying as ever." Ankh scoffed as he dismounted from his seat behind Saber, "Tell me, are you going to actually contribute this time or are you just going to complain like always."
Rin shot the Greeed's host a cold glare. "And what's that supposed to mean?" She said, her tone stern.
"I'm merely pointing out that out of everyone here you're the most useless." Ankh replied offhandedly. "Yet whenever a Greeed or a Yummy shows up you always insist on accompanying us yet never contribute."
Before the Tohsaka heiress and the Bird Greeed could get into another argument a portion of the air shimmered and Archer appeared before the small group, his grey eyes fixed upon the construct made from Cell Medals.
"Emiya Shirou, we need to act quickly." The Servant of the Bow told the rust haired teen, pulling out the Birth Driver as he did so and with a flourish he slapped it against his waist, carried by the momentum the strap wrapped itself around him and connected itself to the buckle. "We have to destroy this thing here and now, if left unchecked it'll most likely consume the entire city before moving onto the surrounding area."
"R…right." Shirou replied as he dismounted his Ride Vendor before pulling out the OOO Driver, placing it against his waist, the familiar silver strap emerging from it and secured itself around him.
That done Shirou pulled out three Core Medals and slipped them into the OOO Driver, tilting it to the side Archer produced a single Cell Medal that he flicked into the air, letting it rotate a few times before quickly catching it.
"Henshin…"/"Henshin…" Both Shirou and Archer announced as the rust haired teen ran the OOO Scanner across the front of his buckle, at the same time the Servant of the Bow slotted his Cell Medal into his belt and twisted the knob on the side.
TAKA! TORA! CHEETAH!
CRANK!
CRANK!
POP!
In a flash a pair of rings of medals surrounded Shirou, three stopping vertically revealing Hawk, Tiger and Cheetah before forming a singular medal that held all three symbols, slamming into his body and creating a predominantly black bodysuit along with having animal features.
At the same time a large capsule surrounded Archer as multiple smaller ones formed at his chest, back, shoulders, forearms, thighs and shins, forming green and white capsules embedded in silver armor over a black bodysuit. His helmet held a similar capsule motif as well.
As both Shirou and Archer's transformation completed themselves the sound of moaning was heard and looking in its direction the group was met by the sight of dozens of Shiro Yummies created from the Cell Medals that were dropping off of the Medal Leviathan's body, the bandage wrapped figures shambling towards them.
Seeing this, Saber's civilian clothes vanished, her battle dress and armor appearing in their place, her wind coated sword appearing in her hand before the Servant of the Sword dashed towards the incoming enemies, slicing at them with her weapon and destroying them several with a single swing.
Not wasting time Saber moved to engage more of the shambling grunts, taking a moment to look back over at OOO and Birth. "Shirou, Archer, you two need to get going." She told the pair of Riders, "I will do my best to hold these ones off whilst you both deal with the big one."
"Understood." Birth replied as he produced another Cell Medals and loaded it into the slot in the Birth Driver, giving the knob located on the side another twist.
CRANK!
CRANK!
POP!
CUTTER WING!
The Driver announced as the Gashapon-like orb located on Birth's back opened up and began to glow blue before it popped out of its socket. It then split open, spilling out a multitude of machine pieces and components, all glowing blue, before they connected together, looking like a pair of wings, and attached themselves to the Gashapon themed Rider's back
"Try not to be late. Emiya Shirou." Birth told the teenager, at the same time he produced his Rider forms signature weapon, the Birth Buster, and took to the air.
"Don't be late yourself." OOO muttered crossly, as he turned to face one of the nearby buildings and, utilizing the Cheetah leg's speed, he took off towards it and made his way inside, making a beeline towards the nearest stairwell.
Meanwhile, far away from where OOO and Birth were engaging the Medal Leviathan, both Kazari and and Lost Ankh were amusing themselves by bouncing a ball against the wall. As the two human disguised Greeed were doing this Maki descended the stairs, carrying with him a sizable circular object that looked to be made from dark stone.
"What do you have there?" Kazari asked, his curiosity peaked.
"Something I took from Kogami in exchange for my retirement pay." Maki replied as he approached a small table and set the item down on it before seating himself in a chair beside it. "Without his knowledge of course. This artefact is one of the items the President brought back from Europe."
Picking up a sharp knife that he used to unseal the artefact, lifting the lid of the medal shaped artefact to reveal a set of ten purple medals. Saiou looks relatively surprised while
"C-Core Medals?!" Kazari exclaimed, shocked to see another set of the … items that prior to this he had no idea existed.
"Indeed, a complete set of ten." Maki replied, "A set that has never once seen the light of day before. By removing a single one of them, an imbalance is created and the desire to fill in that missing begins to bloom and a new Greeed will be born."
As he spoke these words, Maki reached towards the Medal that was located in the center of the other nine, removing it from the artefact. No sooner had he done so the nine remaining Medals gave off an ominous glow as they began to vibrate in place.
Back high above the streets of Shinto Birth was making a beeline towards the Medal Leviathan, his new attachment granting him the ability to fly.
Alerted to the green, black and silver Rider's presence, the massive creature turned its head in his direction before parting its massive jaws, a blue light emanating from inside its throat before firing a beam of energy in his direction.
Muttering a curse, Birth banked to the side, narrowly avoiding the incoming energy beam as it bore towards him. Far from done, the Leviathan then launched a barrage of smaller beams at Birth, forcing him to duck and weave as to avoid the incoming projectiles.
Avoiding another of its shots, Birth responded by pointing his Birth Buster at the creature made from Medals and fired off several shots at it, the Cell Medal that he used as ammunition barely making a dent as they made contact with its hide.
"Hmmm, that's not going to cut it…" Birth said to himself before pulling out another Cell Medal. "Let's try another approach." He then loaded the silver object into his belt and twisted the knob.
CRANK!
CRANK!
POP!
DRILL ARM!
The Driver spoke the words as the gachapon orb on his right forearm armor began to glow blue before it popped out of its socket. It then split open, spilling out a multitude of machine pieces and components, all glowing blue, before they gathered around Birth's forearm and hand, assembling into a large drill with some blue accenting.
A new piece of equipment, this one looking like a large drill, appeared and attached itself to Birth's right arm. His new armament attached, Birth then charges towards the Leviathan, dodging another barrage of projectiles, and rammed the drill into its side, Medals falling away from the point of impact as the drill attachment dug into it.
Meanwhile OOO's had arrived on the roof of the building that he had entered, sprinting to the side and peering over he caught sight of the Medal Leviathan as it passed by. Taking a few steps backwards OOO took a deep breath before charging forward and leapt up over the side before he plummeted towards the Leviathan. Stabbing the Medajaribur into its side he was able to keep himself from plummeting to his doom.
"That…that was too close…" OOO muttered to himself before he then reached down and removed the Cheetah Medal from the OOO Driver before slotting the Grasshopper Medal in its place; that done he grabbed the OOO Scanner and scanned it across the front of the Belt.
TAKA! TORA! BATTA! TA-TO-BA! TATOBA TA-TO-BA!
Assuming his default combination OOO released his hold on the Medajaribur, his legs shifting and becoming more insectoid in appearance, and launched himself upwards jumping again and again and managed to land on the Leviathans back.
"Ok," all of a sudden the multicolored Rider felt the surface beneath his feet shift, almost losing his balance before managing to steady himself, before several tendrils rose up from out of the creature's back.
"Ah, just great," OOO groaned as the many appendages rose up, "This is all I need…"
No sooner had he said this several of the tendrils Suddenly whipped themselves at OOO, the animal themed Rider narrowly managing to avoid being struck by them. As he dodged out of the way the Tiger symbol on the O Lung Circle flashed and the Toraclaws that were mounted to his arms flipped down and extended slightly.
His arm mounted blades now extended OOO acted quickly and slashed as another of the tendrils attempted to strike him and sliced it apart, scattering Cell Medals from the severed length.
Meanwhile Birth had pulled back from the Leviathan and was now hovering above it, much like the Birth Buster the Drill attachment had done little to cause the construct any real damage forcing him to switch tactics again. Inserting another Cell Medal into his Driver and twisted the knob yet again.
CRANK!
CRANK!
POP!
BREAST CANNON!
The Receptacle Orb on his chest glowed red before it opened, releasing red machine parts that covered his chest, forming into a fearsome looking cannon with a red stripe over the barrel. As it needed both hands for it to operate properly, the Drill Arm vanished from his arm and returned to its orb located on his right arm.
Beneath his helmet Archer rolled his eyes, sure he understood why this weapon was called that but surely couldn't have Maki come up with a less juvenile sounding name?
Swiftly picking his mind out of the gutter, the armor bedecked Servant loaded two of the Cell Medals he'd harvested from the Leviathan's body into the Driver before turning the knob again.
CELL BURST!
With that done, Birth gripped the handle on either side of his chest mounted weapon and pulled the trigger, firing off a high velocity shot at the Medal Leviathan that struck it in the side of the head that, unlike the shots from the Birth Buster, seemed to have some kind of impact as it then let out a sudden cry
However the shot fired also resulted in recapturing the massive creature's attention as it turned its head in the black, green and silver Rider's direction. A low guttural moan rumbled in its throat before the Medal creature as several tendrils emerged from its body and lashed out at Birth who narrowly managed to avoid them.
As he ducked and weaved in an attempt to avoid the tendrils that attempted to either knock into or bind him, Birth produced several more Cell Medals and loaded them into the Birth Driver.
CELL BURST!
Undeterred, Birth continued to load more Cell Medals into his Driver; as he did so the barrel of the Breast Cannon began to glow crimson as energy began to build inside of it.
CELL BURST!
"Just a little more…" Birth muttered to himself as the energy levels building inside of the Breast Cannon steadily increased. Just as he was about to load in several more Cell Medals he was interrupted by the Leviathan as it hurled another chunk of debris at him.
Seeing this the Gashapon themed Rider muttered a curse before in a burst of speed he quickly ascended as to avoid the incoming projectile.
Whilst this was going on OOO was doing his best to avoid the tendrils that continued to assault him, either by avoiding them or by slashing away at them with the Toraclaws. Despite this OOO knew that this wasn't getting him anywhere, no matter how many of the tendrils he cut down another would automatically take its place.
Ducking out of the way of another tendril as it tried to whip at him, OOO grabbed the O-Scanner at his side and slid it across the front of the three Core Medals that he had loaded into his OOO Driver.
SCANNING CHARGE…
That done OOO then leapt into the air, performing a backflip as three
Feeling power coursing through him OOO's legs once again to look more insectoid in appearance before he leapt in the air, leaving a green trail of energy as he ascended towards the sky, narrowly avoiding a pair of tendrils as they reached out to grab hold of him.
Reaching the apex a trio of energy rings appeared, one red ring one yellow and one green one. Extending his feet forward OOO passed the red ring, leaving behind a red trail of energy shaped like a hawk's wings, then the yellow ring enveloping his body in yellow energy which took the form of a tiger's head and lastly the green ring, making green energy surround his feet like a grasshopper's leg, poised for a devastating kick!
"HIYAAAAHHHHHHH!" OOO cried out as rushed towards the spot from which the tendril extended out from the Leviathan's back.
At the same time, Birth loaded two more Cell Medals into his Birth Driver, twisting the knob on the side of his belt.
CELL BURST!
No sooner had he done this the barrel of his weapon reached its apex. "At last…" Birth said to himself as took aim at the Leviathan's head, his suits targeting systems locked on to his target.
"BREAST CANNON SHOOT!" Birth roared, pressing the trigger on the right handle. All of a sudden a large beam of crimson energy burst forth from the barrel of the weapon, the kickback from the shot knocking Birth backwards.
Back on the ground Saber had her hands full fighting off the seemingly unending swarm of Shiro Yummies, even with assistance from both Ankh and Rin the sheer number of them was proving to be almost overwhelming.
"Urgh, this is so annoying…" She heard Rin groan in frustration, the Tohsaka heiress as she fired off a pair of Gandr bolts to dispatch a pair of the shambling Shiro Yummies. "It feels like there's no end to these things."
Saber had to agree. Whilst the shambling Mooks weren't especially strong, just the fact they had sheer numbers on their side was proving to be rather taxing. That in conjunction with the presence of the Leviathan who was the source of them, the Cell Medals falling off of it kept spawning more of them
In that moment Saber thought turned to Berserker, she couldn't help but wonder if this was what it was like for the Greek Demigod when he fought the Hydra, for every enemy she and her two companions cut down two more just seemed to take its place.
Eventually it became clear that no matter how many of the incoming Mooks there was just too many for herself and her two companions to deal with, whilst none of them were likely to admit it they were burning through their energy just trying to keep the hoard at bay, all the while the enemy would just keep coming.
Gripping the handle of her sword, Saber quickly dispatched another Shiro Yummies before looking over in Rin's direction. "Rin, Ankh. You two should get clear." She ordered the pair. "I'll stay behind to cover your escape whilst you take cover in one of the buildings."
"But Saber, what about you?" Rin replied, kicking a Shiro Yummy away from her as she did so.
"Do not concern yourself with me, as a Servant your lives takes precedence over my own." Saber told her. "Don't worry, I swear that I will follow close behind."
Before Rin could say anything in response Ankh's hand suddenly grabbed a hold of one of her wrists, turning her head Rin found the face of Matou Shinji looking back at her, a stern look on his face.
"Let's go." The Bird Greeed said firmly before he began to move, leading Rin towards the same building that OOO had entered earlier.
Seeing the two of them depart, Saber returned her attention back to the upcoming hoard of incoming opponents, a look of determination on her face, determined to keep them at bay as long as she could.
High above, both OOO and Birth's attacks made contact with the giant Medal Creature that was the source of all their current crimson energy beam launched from Birth's weapon ripped through the sky as air could actually be seen being cut through as it collided with the Leviathan.
At the same time OOO's feet collided with the Leviathans' back, both attacks resulted in a pair of large explosions, a large amount of Cell Medals scattering from both points of impact.
The burst of light created by the explosions began to fade as OOO landed on something. The Cell Medals shifted themselves, filling in the gaps, any damage caused by both Riders attacks quickly vanishing leaving the Leviathan looking unscathed.
"Wh…what…" OOO exclaimed, his eyes wide in shock behind his helmet. What was he supposed to do now?
Too taken aback by this, OOO didn't notice as a new tendril emerged from the Leviathan's back and shot towards him, wrapping itself around his waist. "Wh…wha the…" OOO exclaimed.
With its target now held securely within its grip, the tendril suddenly hoisted the multicolored Rider up off of his feet and into the air, whipping him around before tossing him aside and sending OOO hurtling through the air.
As this was happening Birth as doing his best to avoid another barrage of beams that the Leviathan was firing at him, at the same time the tanned skinned Servant of the Bow was trying to think as to why his suits most powerful attack had been ineffective against the massive monstrosity made from countless Cell Medals as well as trying to come up with a new plan of action.
So fixed upon this that he didn't notice as OOO came hurtling towards him until the animal based Rider slammed into him, knocking the both of them out of the air and sending both of them plummeting towards the ground.
As the two Riders fell, the Leviathan's massive jaws parted before unleashed a high pitched cry that created a powerful soundwave in the the Rider's direction which also shattered the windows of many of the surrounding buildings and sending loose debris flying, the wave of sound cancelling Shirou and Archer's transformations as they plummeting towards the ground far below.
As he fell Shirou all of a sudden felt something wrap itself around his waist before he was suddenly yanked in the direction of one of the larger pieces of falling rubble where he came to a sudden stop as a pair of arms wrapped themselves around him.
Looking over to see who was holding him, Shirou's eyes widened as he was met by a familiar sight. "R…Rider…" He exclaimed.
"Don't worry, I have you." the lavender haired Servant told him, her words reassuring despite her usual monotone way of speaking.
Having said this, Rider's body tensed up before launching herself and Shirou into the air, racing towards another piece of falling debris before repeating the process, bounding from one piece of falling debris to another before redirecting herself and launched herself towards one of the broken windows, she and Shirou landing in an empty office.
Meanwhile Archer continued his fall until he slammed into the tarmac surface of the road, bouncing off of its surface a short distance before coming to a stop. Breathing laboured and pain wracking his body, Archer rolled onto his back, his gaze upon the sight of Medal Leviathan that hung high above him as he lay there.
As a large group of Shiro Yummies making their way towards him. "D…damn…" Archer grunted, a fresh wave of pain from his fall ebbed through him as he tried to get back to his feet.
It was as he lay that Archer heard the sound of groaning, a noise that was getting steadily louder, caught his attention. Gritting his teeth Archer did his best to ignore his protesting body as he pushed himself up into a sitting position to get a better look at what was the source of the groaning noise.
What he was met by was the sight of at least a dozen Shiro Yummies, the incomplete Yummies shambling towards him. "Shit…" Archer cursed as the mummy like Mooks were getting closer.
Gritting his teeth the white haired Servant of the Bow tried to push himself back up to his feet, fresh agony screaming through his body as he did so, only for his shaking legs to give out and he fell back down. Just as one of the Shiro Yummies was about to get close to him a sudden blur of yellow and blue rushed past him which in turn cut down the approaching Yummy.
"Saber…" Archer exclaimed upon seeing the English woman standing before him, placing herself between him at the approaching Shiro Yummies.
"Archer, can you stand?" Saber inquired, at the same time she grabbed a hold of one of the Yummies and tossed it towards several the others, knocking all of them to the ground.
"I…I should be able to." Archer replied before trying and failing to get back to his feet. "I…I just need a moment."
Knowing that they didn't have time for this, Saber wrapped an arm around the taller Servant's waist and pulled him up leaned him against her for support as she led him towards the building that Rin and Ankh had vanished inside of.
On the rooftop of the building that they'd bolted inside of, both Rin and Ankh watched as the Medal Leviathan drifted away from where they were standing, more Cell Medals falling off of its underbelly as it did so which would no doubt spawn more Shiro Yummies.
Just then the sound of the access door being open caught their attention, and looking round saw both Shirou and Rider coming towards them.
"Emiya," Rin exclaimed upon seeing the rust haired teen, notice his somewhat dishevelled appearance, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine." Shirou replied, unwrapping his arm from around Rider's waist. "If it weren't for Rider things could have gone a lot worse."
"Is that so, how fortunate for you." Ankh sneered before shifting gaze towards the lavender haired Servant of the Mount, "Nice of you to actually show up."
Rider chose not to say anything in response, her face betraying no emotion. Whilst they didn't verbally acknowledge it, both Ankh and Rin couldn't help but notice just how close she kept to Shirou.
Just then a blue and red blur landed on the roof, quickly revealing itself to be Saber who was still supporting Archer. Saber helped the tanned skinned man into a sitting position on the ground.
"Archer," Rin once again exclaimed, this time at seeing the state that he was in, before hurrying over to him, reaching into her coat she produced a gemstone which she quickly shoved into his hand. "Here, use this."
Archer nodded in response before popping the crystal into his mouth and swallowed it, no sooner had he done so a sudden warmth spread through him, his body beginning the process of knitting itself back together.
Satisfied that Archer was no longer a concern, Saber shifted her attention over to where her Master was standing. "Shirou, are you unharmed?" She inquired, biting back a small pang of jealousy at seeing him in such close proximity to Rider.
"Don't worry about me Saber, I'm good." Shirou replied warmly before his face suddenly took on a more serious expression as he turned to look at the retreating form of the Leviathan. "However, we've still got a serious problem on our hands."
"Agreed, this situation is indeed dire." Saber replied solemnly. "Not only the creature itself but the mooks that it's spawning. Whilst they aren't exactly strong they have the advantage of sheer numbers on their side, based on that alone it won't be long before they become a threat to the entire city."
"Defeating the Leviathan also means we'd reduce the number of Yummies that are being created." Rin said, tapping a finger against her chin.
"Easier said than done. Cutting off the number of underlings first requires us to defeat the Leviathan." Archer said as he got back to his feet, ignoring his still protesting body as he did. "Emiya Shirou and I both hit that thing point blank and we couldn't even scratch it."
"Agreed, there within lies the issue." Saber replied. "Everything else is rather moot unless we can defeat it and, based on Shirou and Archer's attempt to do so, that's not going to be easy."
Shirou's expression darkened. "Damnit Maki," He said harshly, "He's really done it this time."
"Dr Maki is not responsible for this," Rider spoke up, catching everyone's attention. "The responsibility for this thing's creation lies with Caster."
"C…Caster?" Rin exclaimed, "She's responsible for this thing?"
"That's a bold claim to make Rider," Saber replied, narrowing her eyes at the long haired woman. "How can you be so sure that Caster is behind this?"
"My eyes are special, they allow me to see things others can't." The Servant of the Mount replied, tapping a finger against the blindfold that covered her eyes, "Whatever this thing is, it's giving off a particular magical signature and I can tell that it's very similar to Caster's."
"Now that I think about it, that does make a lot of sense," Ankh said firmly, rubbing his chin as he said this, "That bitch, that explains why she was targeting Kogami's Cell Medal shipments as well as stealing away those four Cores."
"Yeah but what does that have to do with that thing up there?" Shirou asked, no sooner had he said this a nasty thought popped into his head. "Wait, you don't think that she was trying to create her own Greeed do you?"
"It would be a logical assumption, although from the looks of things it backfired on her spectacularly." Rider told him, "Thanks to it being a creation of Caster I can tell that this thing has a very high Magic Resistance."
"Oh great, another one of those things running around." Rin groaned, "That's just what we need right now."
"Ha, as far as I'm concerned she got what she deserved." Ankh snorted. "Even at the end she underestimated the Greeed, thinking that she could control us."
"Regardless of this thing's creation or Caster's intentions, we need to focus on the situation at hand." Archer spoke up. "Our weapons had little effect on it and if Rider's correct about this thing having high levels of Magic Resistance then Mage Craft will of little use either."
"Wait, what about Saber's Noble Phantasm?" Rin suggested, turning her attention to the British Servant, "Surely that would be enough to destroy it?"
"That might work." Saber replied, "However, given its high Resistance I'd have to get close for it to be effective and as we saw from Shirou and Archer's attempt, doing so will not it's not be easy."
Shirou stayed silent as he listened to the others as they talked, as he heard Saber speak an idea suddenly formed in his head. He wasn't sure if it would work but given their current situation…
He turned to look at his Servant. "How close are we talking?" He asked her.
Hearing this Saber and the others looked over at the rust haired teen. "Very close I'd say." She told him, her tone deadly serious, "I'd dare say practically right up in its face."
"Alright then…" Shirou then turned to Ankh. "Ankh, I need your Medals." He said, holding a hand out towards him,
"Huh," The host of the Bird Greeed replied. "What do you want them for?"
"Look, we don't have time to argue." Shirou said firmly, "I can get Saber as close as she needs to destroy this thing but to do it I need your power."
The bird Greeed stared at Shirou. After a few moments he produced a pair of red Core Medals. "Here," He told Shirou, "Just don't screw this up."
Nodding, Shirou took them before turning away from Akhn as he slid the two Red Medals into the OOO Driver, he then grabbed the OOO Scanner and slid it across the OOO Driver. "Henshin…"
TAKA! KUJAKU! CONDOR! (Phoenix screech) TA~JA ~DOL~~DOL!
Once again a ring of medals surrounded Shirou, three stopping vertically revealing a Hawk, a Peacock and a Condor before forming a singular medal that held all three symbols, slamming into his body and creating a predominantly black bodysuit, the eye lenses of the hawk head now being red instead of green having the same animal features.
His transformation complete, OOO glanced over at Saber. "Ready Saber?" He asked.
The blond haired Servant looked over at her armor-clad Master and nodded. "Indeed," She replied. "Let's go Shirou."
Hearing this OOO wrapped an arm around Saber's shoulder, both of them tensing up as the wing-like extensions extended from the red and black Riders back before they both took to the air in pursuit of their target.
Back in Maki's home Lost Ankh was amusing himself by bouncing a soccer ball against a wall whilst the same time Kazari was seated at the same table that Maki had been sitting at earlier, the artefact that had contained the Purple Medals still sitting there, four of which were now absent.
The human disguise of the Cat Greed absentmindedly playing with the purple medals when all of a sudden the six coin shaped objects began to glow again, much as they had when Maki removed the tenth Medal, and suddenly rose into the air and flew away, as they were being drawn to something.
"Wha…what the?" Kazari stammered, "Why are the medals leaving?"
Maki didn't reply, his stoic demeanour never shifting as he looked off in the direction that the remaining Medals had flown off in.
OOO and Saber tore through the air as they approached the Medal Leviathan, as if alerted to their presence the massive creature turned its head in their direction, another low growl rumbling in its throat as the inside of its mouth began glow glow and it fired an energy beam in the direction of the Master and Servant duo.
Gritting his teeth, OOO banked to the left, narrowly avoiding the beam attack before he and Saber as they continued resumed their original heading. As they did so a large tendril emerged from the Leviathan's body which wrapped itself around a chunk of one of the damaged buildings and hurled it towards OOO and Saber.
Banking left and right OOO did his best to avoid the incoming barrage of tendrils and debris that were launched at him and Saber, some more narrowly than others, before the two of them shot past the colossal creature before changing direction towards the sky, rising higher and higher until they were far out of the Leviathan's range.
"Shirou," Saber called out to the red and black adorned Rider as they ascended higher. "This should be close enough."
"Right," OOO replied, "Good luck Saber." And with that released his hold on her, sending the former King of England plummeting towards the Leviathan.
"Saber, by my Command Seal, I order you to use your Noble Phantasm." OOO called out, extending his left hand out before him as he did so, the glowing image of his Command Seal becoming visible beneath his armor as part of it vanished.
"Yes," Saber said, her tone filled with determination, "As your Servant I acknowledge your orders, Master…"
All of a sudden a golden aura began to emanate off of Saber's weapon, the swirling wind that covered it instantly vanishing and revealing its true form beneath: a glimmering, golden sword that casts a magnificent glow that could be seen throughout the area.
Still descending towards the Medal Leviathan, Saber gripped the handle of her weapon in both hands before raising her weapon above her head. "EXS…" She announced, the golden aura radiating off of her sword increasing in intensity before, turning into nothing more than a golden cross within her grip. "…CALIBUR!"
No sooner had she proclaimed the true name of her sword, Saber delivered a mighty vertical slash, unleashing a powerful beam of energy, it violently expanded and burst as it cut effortlessly through the air before colliding with the Leviathan eliciting a brief, painful shriek from it as it was enveloped in a blind burst of light as the fissure of energy streaks through the sky and continuing into the foreseeable distance.
The torrent of energy constricts on itself, after the strike, until it's just a lengthy pine needle of light, before vanishing entirely. Once the brilliant glow subsided the simple yet elegant looking sword vanished as once again the swirling mass of air coated it as Saber continued her descent towards the ground below.
Before long the light created by the Servant of the Swords faded, as it did so, what was left of the Medal Leviathan was revealed, although from the looks of things the massive creature made from thousands of small medals looked as if it were barely holding onto life, the left side of its body having been completed eviscerated and sporting a large gaping gash.
Seeing this OOO knew that he had to act quickly, slipping the three red Core Medals from his OOO Driver and placing them inside the Tajaspiner and closing the lid before he grabbed the OOO Scanner and used it on the arm mounted device.
TAKA! KUJAKU! CONDOR! GIN~GIN~GIN~GIN! GIGA SCAN!
All of a sudden OOO was engulfed in flames, the mass taking the form of a large flaming bird, a loud bird-like cry ringing out before he dived towards what remained of the Medal Leviathan, unleashing his Magna Blaze attack.
The avian shaped mass of flames dived into its gaping maw and entered its body, the Medal creature letting out a final mournful cry before moments later it suddenly exploded, the Cell Medals that had comprised its body raining down in the city below.
Amongst the raining coins Ankh spotted something, acting quickly he launched his Greeed arm into the arm, his clawed hand outstretched as it whizzed through the air and grabbed a hold of something before retracting itself and once again reattached itself to the body of Matou Shinji.
A smirk spread itself across his face at the sight of two Grey Medals, one Blue Medal and one green Medal in palm.
It was as he examined the four Medals in his hand something in the corner of the Bird Greeed's eye caught his attention. Quickly snapping his head in its direction Ankh saw something giving off a purple glow streaking through the sky.
"What the…" Ankh muttered to himself, focusing on the purple glow amongst it he saw five familiarly shaped objects. "Wait, are those…Medals?"
As he watched the five glowing Medals tore through the air Ankh noticed that they seemed to be headed in the same direction in which OOO was descending, his 'partners' body form still ablaze in the bird shaped flames.
Meanwhile Saber was still plummeting towards the ground. With the Leviathan now gone she turned her attention to her current situation. Heroic Spirit or not she wasn't sure if she could survive making contact with the ground from a fall of this height or at this velocity.
As she pondered this a blur of red and black suddenly appeared from one of the tops of one of the buildings and raced towards the blind haired Servant, within seconds it had reached her and Saber felt a pair of arms wrap themselves around her shoulders and calves.
"Don't worry," said a deep sounding voice, their tone reassuring, "I've got you…"
Stunned at first, Saber turned her head to look her rescuer in the face only for the light of the sun behind them obscuring his features, despite this the former King of England individual felt a sense of familiarity about them. 'Sh…Shirou…'
Before long the two of them made it to street level, Saber's mystery man's legs buckling slightly as he made contact with the tarmac before rising back to his full height. No longer obscured by the bright light his identity was revealed.
"A…Archer…" Saber exclaimed as she found herself being carried in the tanned skinned man's arms, all of a sudden it quickly dawned on her that the Servant of the Bow was holding onto her as if she were a princess from an old fairy tale, a position that was more than a little embarrassing to find herself in.
"A…Archer…" The blond haired Servant stammered, a slight pinkness appearing on her cheeks, "I…I would appreciate it if you'd put me down."
"Hmmm, no. I don't think so." Archer replied, a sly grin appearing on his face. "I get the feeling that you don't find yourself in this position very often, why not enjoy it whilst you can."
"I…I…that is impossible Archer." Saber replied, looking away so as not to meet Archer's grey eyes, "As King I…"
"Saber, you may have been a King but you are also a woman, there's nothing wrong with that." The tanned skinned man said, his tone firm and yet warm. "So, just this once, allow yourself to be a woman and let yourself be held."
She found that she had no response to this. Instead she leaned her head against the red clad man's chest, feeling the warmth emanated off of his body.
Nearby the fiery bird gilded towards the streets below, the fiery mass quickly extinguishing itself to reveal OOO the moment that his feet touched the tarmac, stray embers floating off of him.
OOO panted as the last of the energy of his full combo dissipated, feeling somewhat drained, although nowhere near as he had been the first time he'd used a full combo. Still mixed in with the tiredness he felt was also a feeling of elation.
He'd done it, both he and Saber had done it. The Medal Leviathan that Caster had created had been destroyed.
Sure, in the grand scheme of things this was a minor victory at best. The Leviathan's rampage had left behind an enormous amount of damage in its wake and there were still the Shiro Yummies that it had spawned still to be cleaned up. Maki, Kazari and Lost Ankh were still at large and Uva was out there scheming something. And that wasn't even getting into the remaining Servants who despite the threat that the Greeed posed refused to give up the Grail War.
Despite all this, for just a moment, OOO simply allowed himself to feel a sense of accomplishment flow through him.
Just then a noise from close by caught his attention and turning his head in its direction OOO met by a streak of purple as something began to encircle him. After a few attempts to locate whatever it was, the red and black Rider managed to catch a glimpse of what appeared to be five circular objects that were giving off a purple radiance that left a glowing trail behind as they swirled around him.
Were those Core Medals?
OOO wasn't given much time to process this when all of a sudden the five Medals changed direction and one shot towards him, penetrating both his armor and flesh with ease and entering his body, its action quickly replicated by the four remaining glowing Cores, each of which entered his body.
Moments after the five Cores had entered his body OOO was engulfed in an ominous purple glow and a crackle of purple energy emanated from the OOO Driver before it suddenly twisted itself back into a horizontal position and the three Red Cores were ejected from it.
Moments later the OOO armor vanished off of Shirou's form, revealing the wide eyed and perturbed looking teenager behind as he tried to make sense of what had just happened.
All of a sudden the sound of a high pitched and shrill sounding cry echoed through Shirou's mind, his irises quickly changing from their normal golden hue to shade of purple not similar to the Medals that now resided within him, and Shirou felt his body stiffen as he lost consciousness, falling forward towards the ground.
As he fell a purple and black blur sped towards the teen's position and a pair of arms wrapped themselves around him seconds before he could hit the floor.
Despite the blank expression that she typically wore betraying no emotion, Rider was filled with a sense of foreboding as she examined the form of Emiya Shirou who she held in her arms. Only moments ago she'd witnessed him suddenly collapse to the ground with little to no provocation.
Glancing around the lavender haired Servant tried to locate what might have caused Shirou to collapse but could find no trace of anyone else around in the immediate area.
Looking back at the body of the rust haired teenager within her grip Rider quickly examined him, despite only having just arrived she couldn't shake the feeling that something was very wrong.
"Emiya Shirou," She said, her voice in its usual soft tone. "What is wrong, are you unwell?"
Shirou did not respond, his now purple eyes staring off blankly at nothing.
"Emiya Shirou." Rider repeated herself, her voice slightly more forceful. Still Shirou did not respond, even with his head turned towards Rider he still wordlessly stared off into nothingness.
Whilst she wouldn't say it aloud Rider felt a sense of foreboding beginning to take firm in the pit of her stomach she could tell that something was seriously wrong.
As she cradled the rust haired teen in her arms the sound of hurried footsteps from close by caught Rider's attention, looking in their direction the Servant of the Mount was met by the sight of Saber, Ankh and Rin hurriedly approached their position.
"Shirou…" Saber muttered upon seeing her Master being cradled by Rider, quickening her pace she closed the gap between them. "Rider, what has happened here?" She practically demanded.
"I…am unsure, he just suddenly collapsed." Rider replied. "From what I can tell there is nothing physically wrong with Emiya Shirou, however he is unresponsive."
Saber stared at her fellow Heroic Spirit, a worried look on her face. Quickly she turned her attention to her Master, placing her hands on his shoulders. "Shirou…Shirou…" She called out to him, giving him a small shake. "Shirou, speak to me."
Much like with Rider, Saber got no response, the rust haired teenager continued to stare off blanky.
As this was going on both Ankh and Rin had covered the distance and had arrived at the spot where both Servants were trying unsuccessfully to rouse Shirou. "Emiya…" the dark haired heiress muttered upon taking in the sight before her. "Saber, what's wrong with Emiya?"
"I…I don't know," Saber replied, the sound of worry in her voice clear to everyone. "He won't respond."
Muttering something under her breath Rin strode over and placed an ear to Shirou's chest before moving on to check his eyes. "His breathing and pupils both seem normal," She informed the two Servants. "All the same we should get him out of here, whilst I could do something I don't like the idea of treating him here in the middle of the street with all those remaining Yummies walking around."
Whilst the three girls were talking Ankh was observing them, a deep set frown on his face. 'What the hell is going on here…?' He pondered, as he did so he recalled seeing the five glowing Medals, specifically how they had seemingly been headed in Shirou's direction. 'Wait, those Medals. Could they have… ?'
His scowl deepening, Ankh then quickly marched over and pulled Shirou from Rin's grip before seizing him by the collar and began shaking him roughly.
"Oi…Shirou…Shirou…" He yelled at the seemingly comatose teenager. "Shirou, answer me."
"Ankh, Ankh what are you doing?" Rin cried out at the Bird Greeed, Saber meanwhile grabbing ahold of him and managed to pull him away from her Master, allowing for Rider to once more take Shirou into her embrace.
"Rider, the hospital nearby," The Tohsaka Heiress told the lavender haired Servant, "We should take him there."
Rider nodded in response and within seconds she was on the move, making a beeline for the destination that Rin had instructed her to head to, after shooting Ankh a stern look Saber and herself were quickly following after her.

AN Hey everyone, after a bit of a hiatus I'm back. My time away took longer than expected, the computer I've been using came back with a new OS and boots up super…only for it to turn out that several keys on the key board don't work, which include the shift and keys as well as the caps lock, which means I'm gonna have to send off again to get that fixed. Urgh…FYI I'm using a tablet to type this out.
I had wanted to come back in August and then I caught the new strain of Covid that's currently running around and it pretty much sapped my energy to do anything. Symptoms wise it wasn't too bad, it honestly it felt like I had a bad cold until I got my positive test, honestly the worst part for me was just the sitting around waiting for it to run its course. But I'm fine now, got a negative test and want to get back to posting.
So yeah, enough of that. Getting to this a new instalment of the OOO story. So yeah, you got to see Shirou/OOO taking down a Mega Greeed created by Caster.
As said in the chapter itself a big part of this story would have had Caster working in the background collecting all the Cell Medals that she could as well as getting her hands on several Core Medals in an attempt to create her own Greeed, but of course she overestimated her ability to control it and her creation leading to her own demise of herself as well as that of Kuzuki and Assassin.
And what this? Uh oh, the purple Medals have found there way to Shirou which means that not only is PyuTuTyra combo right around the corner, along with having to contend with a rampaging purple dino berserker Shirou's also gonna start turning into a Greeed which is gonna a majorly gonna effect his relationships with several characters. Plus Maki will soon be putting his big plan to bring about the end of the world into action.
During my mini hiatus I finished watching Saber and am currently watching Zero-One as well as Lupineanger VS Patoranger.
I also in my time off I got a bunch of writing done during my time away, I wrote new chapters based on Saber, Wizard, Build, W and Blade. Also I finally bit the bullet and wrote a Geats chapter.
I've made it no secret that I really Build as a show buuut that being said a story that combines the sci-f elements of Build with the magic stuff from Fate could make for an interesting read, its just a matter of figuring out how to tell that story, plus I didn't want write a that was just a blatant copy of Fate/Build: The Mechanical Magus by Tailsmo4ever which I have read and, aside from having a couple of nitpicks, I think is a decent story.
As well as all those currently I've got a new Zi-O chapter in the works that I'm hoping will be ready in time for Halloween. I also want to write a new chapter based on Zero-One at some point, I just need to kick some ideas around before I commit to it.
So Geats came to its conclusion. Yeeeeah, based on Kiewa's little sad boi arc towards the end I don't think many people want Shirou to be Tycoon anymore, what with him being tricked by Kekera to become a full on villain using Tsumuri's grief to remake the world screwing everyone else over in the process, not unless they just want to see our boi go full on villain anyway. Don't get me wrong, Tycoon Shogun form looks cool but I don't think a cool black suit is worth the trade off.
Also I was not expecting for Na-Go to get a upgrade, I half expected that it would happen in one of the post show movies if she were to get one all. Of the main cast the just leaves Buffa without a final form before the end of the show if you don't count Zombie/Fever.
But yeah, its that time of year once again, Geats has, for the moment, taken his final bow and stepped aside for Gotchard to take the stage. Gotta say I do like the look Gotchard's suit, its got kind of a Steampunk vibe to it and the belts pretty funky. Plus I find the goggles on his helmet kind funny and find the blue for his main form interesting since main character in Rider are primarily red for the most part whilst blue is a colour that tends to be mostly associated with Secondary Riders or for alternate forms.
As for Gotchard episode 1 it was…serviceable, pretty standard first episode for Kamen Rider show. Not a whole lot of information as to what's going on right now but I imagine that we'll be learning more over the next few episodes. Hotaro is pretty ok as a main character, not amazing but hopefully he'll grow and develop over the course of the show. Rinnie the girl with a family responsibility who I've seen some say that she should be the main character instead of Hotaro, hopefully the show does something interesting with her, she doesn't have to become a Rider per say but they fund a way to keep her relevant. Also apparently the guy who Hotaro the Gotchard Driver was her dad sooo yeah, there's that.
After some thought Hotaro and Rinnie, at least right now, feel kinda similar to the early versions of Ryutaro and Hana from Den-O with whole regular guy who gets unexpectedly pulled in to a fantastical world and conflict by a girl who already knows what's going on and at first glance probably should be the main character but isn't because boy has something special about him. Then again that might just be me.
Next are villains who we don't know really anything about right other than that they're named after the Sister of Fate Lachesis, Clotho and Atropos and that they can combine with the Chemy's to create the monsters of the week which is kinda interesting. And finally we've got our rival/maybe secondary Rider Valvarad who I imagine will be showing up soon.
Based on the info that's come out Gotchard will be lighter in tone then Geats, then again most Rider shows start out on the lighter side and get darker as they go along and I'm not saying that Gotchard being lighter tone is necessarily a bad thing, even if it ends up not being better than or as good as Geats hopefully Gotchard Fingers will be a good show in its own right.
Oh yeah, also the show's them, ChemyxStory (get it, cos the show's alchemy based) is alreasy up on Youtube, its it hits different from TrustxLast but its still pretty good. Also it might just be me but something about it reminds me of Reach for the Stars from Sonic Colours.
Anyways I think that this a good place to wrap this up. As always feel free to drop a comment and let me know your thoughts on this instalment and if your excited for Gotchard.
I'm back with hopefully consistent uploads for the rest of 2023
Till next time, peace out y'all.
