Chapter ?: I'm a Master/Kamen Rider
A shiver ran through Shirou's body as he, Tohsaka and Saber made their way through the deserted city streets as they proceeded towards their destination, did it just get colder all of a sudden? Or perhaps it was because he was so on edge right now thanks to the series of weird events that had occurred to him in the past few hours.
Stumbling across Archer and Lancer as both Servants were fighting, Lancer skewering him through the chest and leaving him for dead only for him to wake up to find himself somehow completely recovered, something that should have been impossible medically speaking.
Learning about the existence of the Holy Grail War, a form of ritualistic combat where seven magicians fought each other utilizing a special form of Familiar they called a Servant, the spirit of a great warrior or historical figure from the past to do their bidding. All to obtain a prize they called the Holy Grail.
Great, like he didn't have enough to worry about right now.
"Shirou," The sound of Saber's voice snapping him out of his thought, looking over he found her looking at him.
"Shirou, are you alright?" The blond haired Servant said, a note of concern in her voice, "I sensed that something was bothering you just now."
"I…I'm fine Saber, guess I'm just getting used to this whole thing." He replied, trying to sound reassuring as he pulled his jacket tighter around him. "Anyway, I hope that this whole thing doesn't take too long. Some of us actually have stuff they need to do in the morning."
"What's wrong Emiya, is it past your bedtime or something?" Rin said snarkily. "Are you sleepy and want your beddy byes? You'll never make it as a Mage with that low amount of stamina."
Shirou narrowed his eyes as he shot the Tohsaka heiress a stern look in response. "For your information Tohsaka I've got to be at the hospital in the morning." He informed her. "Those shifts tend to start early and can end pretty late so it's best to be as well rested as you can."
"You're going to the hospital Shirou?" Saber asked. "Are you ill?"
"Nothing like that Saber, I'm currently interning there." The rust haired teen informed her. "Part of my internship involves working in a real hospital and interacting with real patients."
"I see, you're training to become a doctor." Saber said, sounding impressed. "That is quite the noble profession that you've chosen to pursue."
"Well, I dunno if I really want to become a doctor." Shirou replied, rubbing the back of his neck, "But I do want to help people and studying medicine and learning how to treat people's injuries seemed like a good step to take to help in what I actually want to do."
No sooner had the trip crossed the bridge that separated the two halves of the city all of a sudden a strange noise filled her air. Reaching into his jacket Shirou produced his Game Scope, the appearance of the stethoscope like device surprising both Rin and Saber.
"Emiya, why are you carrying a stethoscope around with you?" Rin asked, cocking an eyebrow at the sight of the device the rust haired teen was holding.
Shirou didn't answer her, holding up the scope he pressed a button located on the side of it, the device then projected an image of a woman shoulder length dark brown hair who wore a worried expression on their face.
"Shirou, we've got big trouble." The dark haired woman said, a note of worry in her voice. "I know it's late but we really need your help."
"Asuna-san," Shirou exclaimed, "What's wrong, what do you need me to do?"
"We've got a situation and, for some reason, you're currently the closest one to its location." Asuna replied. "We need you to get over there quickly. I'm sending you the location now."
"Right, I'll get there as soon as possible." Shirou replied, he then looked over Saber and Rin. "Sorry but I gotta go. Tohsaka, thank you for bringing me out this far but I have to respond to this."
"But Shirou, I thought you wanted to learn more about the Holy Grail War?" Saber said. "That is why we've come out this far."
"I know, but this is an emergency. You can still go if you want to Saber, but this is something I need to do." Shirou told her. "I might not be a doctor but saving lives is important."
With that the rust haired teen turned around and began to run in the direction that he'd been instructed to head to, leaving both Rin and Saber watching after him as he drew further and further he ran, Saber watched on, a stunned expression on her face.
More and more she found herself surprised at how different her current Master was from her last one. "Saving lives…" She muttered to herself as she watched her Master's retreating form.
Rin however was less than impressed, a deep frown etched into her face as she watched Shirou run. "Something more important than the Holy Grail, preposterous…" She growled. "Come on Saber, let's go see what exactly is so important.
Running as fast as he could It wasn't long before Shirou found himself in the square located outside Fuyuki's train station. "Where are you…" He muttered to himself, scanning the area for any sign of his he looked about him the sound of hurried footsteps approaching caught the teenager's attention, turning to look in their direction he found both Saber and Tohsaka approaching him.
"Saber, Tohsaka…" He exclaimed, "What are you doing here, I thought that you two were going to go see the guy in charge of the Grail War?"
"I am not so shallow to put my own desires over the lives of others, if somebody's life is at stake right now then that takes top priority." Saber told him, "We can go to the Arbiter once your business here has been resolved."
"And I'm only here to see what could be more important to you than obtaining the Holy Grail." Rin added haughtily.
Shirou couldn't help but scoff at the tone of her voice. "Really, that's your attitude. Someone's life is at stake and all you care about is some shiny bauble." He said, shooting the dark haired girl a stern look. "The old man was right; Mages really are a selfish lot."
"Why you…" Rin growled in response. "You dare describe an item of such power as a shiny bauble, your ignorance just goes to show how much of a third rate Magus you are."
"Shirou, I'm detecting a presence nearby," Saber spoke up, cutting off any argument between Shirou and Rin before it could start. glancing around her eyes then fell upon a nearby alleyway. "It's coming from over there."
Shirou ran in the direction that Saber had pointed him, Rin following close behind him, quickly the two of them arriving at the entrance of an alleyway located between the station and another just a moment the pair caught a glimpse of a feminine shaped figure with long lavender coloured hair standing there, clad in a short black dress that hugged her generous figure, alerted by the sound of his hurried she turned her head in his direction, revealing that her face adorned with what looked like a blind fold and blood splattering her mouth and chin.
"A…a Servant…!" Rin exclaimed, finding her voice as she stared at the seemingly otherworldly figure who seemed nonplussed about her and Shirou's sudden appearance.
As they stood there Saber pushed past the pair, tossing aside the long yellow raincoat that she had been wearing as she took up a defensive position in front of both Shirou and Rin, her wind encased sword appearing in her hand, a stern expression on her face as she stared down the woman before her.
For a moment Shirou, Rin, Saber and the mysterious Servant stared back at one another, the long haired women wiped the blood off of her chin, before all of a sudden her body seemed to dissolve into a swirl of blue energy accompanied by the faint sound of chimes and she vanished from view to reveal a figure clad in a night guards uniform lying on the ground.
Snapping out of his stupefied state Shirou ran over to the night guard, Rin following behind him while Saber remained where she was, the blond haired Servant maintaining her defensive position as she glanced around her in case the enemy Servant still possessed a threat. Upon examining him he discovered a nasty looking bite wound on the side of his neck. "Damn, this looks bad…" He muttered to himself.
All of a sudden the afflicted man's body began to crackle with orange energy, his form momentarily seemed to flicker before becoming solid again, something that shocked both Rin and Saber greatly.
"Damn, this looks bad…" He muttered to of a sudden the afflicted man's body began to crackle with orange energy, his form momentarily seemed to flicker before becoming solid again, something that shocked both Rin and Saber out his Gamer Scope Shirou scanned the man before him, a holographic screen being projected before that depicted an image of a heart that was moving around the screen erratically.
"Damn, he's infected with the Bugster Virus…" He muttered as he lowered the Gamer Scope.
"Wha?" Rin said, confused by the term that he had just used. "Bugster Virus?"
Before Shirou could reply all of a sudden the man before them began to convulse as an odd looking substance began to emerge from his chest, rising into the air where it arched back towards the plaza where the mass congealed itself into a vaguely humanoid form, one that Shirou instantly recognised. And most of all, the particles were forming together and changing shape into a full body figure. Then the figure turns around and appears to have a dark blue body, with jolts and all. Its left arm has what appears to be a big plug. Around its neck is a big neck collar with jolts sticking out. But it was wearing a black cap and a black tall hat.
"Salty," Shirou muttered, a frown spread across his face as the blue Bugster let out an overly dramatic laugh and swished his cape. "I thought I already dealt with you?"
"What the heck is that…that thing?" Rin exclaimed, staring wide eyed as she gestured towards the group of viruses. "What kind of Magecraft could produce…whatever it is?"
"Indeed," Saber added, managing to maintain her composure despite being just as confused as Rin. "In all my years never have I encountered a creature such as this."
"There's no Magecraft this time, Tohsaka, Saber, that is a Bugster." Shirou informed his two companions. "A computer virus that's somehow managed to manifest itself in the real world and can infect people."
"A computer virus?" Rin asked, shocked at what she was hearing.
"Yeah. that guy back there was already infected and whoever that Servant was and whatever she did to him produced enough stress for Salty to manifest himself." Shirou explained, "Worse is that they drain the life out of the people that they attach themselves to to do it, if we don't defeat Salty then that guy over there is going to vanish."
"Are you saying that this strange creature is the one responsible for this man's condition?" Saber said, a stern expression on her face as she raised her wind encompassed sword. "Very well then. Prepare yourself vile creature, for your actions you will taste my blade."
Raising her wind concealed sword Saber charged at Salty, the Bugster cowering as she closed the distance between them in a matter of seconds, raing her weapon she just as quickly brought it down delivering a powerful slash. "HAVE AT THEE…"
MISS!
For a moment everything was still as both Saber and the Bugster stared at one another, both of them standing there in stunned silence. "Huh," Salty said, breaking the silence, confused as to what just happened. "Was…was that supposed to do something?"
Saber didn't answer him, much like the Kaijin before her; she too was shocked at the ineffectiveness of her weapon despite being certain that her sword had made contact with her opponent.
Shaking her head, the former King quickly pushed aside her confusion as she raised her weapon and attempted to slash at the top hat wearing Kaijin again.
MISS!
Again nothing. Confused and frustrated, Saber gripped the sword in both hands she tried once again, this time thrusting the tip of her sword forward in an attempt to impale the Bugster.
MISS!
Only for her third attempt to also fail.
The King of Knights couldn't believe it, how could this be? Her weapon, Caliburn, the same sword that she'd pulled free of the stone and cemented her right as King, was no ordinary sword. Forged in Avalon itself and a piece of the fae world itself.
So why, why was it ineffective against this Bugster?
"O…ok, this is just getting awkward…" Salty said as he extended his left arm towards Saber who was still reeling from her sword being ineffective against him before unleashing a powerful burst of electricity, one strong enough to knock the blond haired Servant to the ground.
While this was going on both Shirou and Rin had watched as Saber had unsuccessfully tried to engage the Kaijin, Rin looking off with a dumbfounded look on her face as she tried to process what she was witnessing.
"Wh…wha," Rin exclaimed, her Magus mind was having a hard time processing what she was seeming. "Shouldn't Saber's weapon have sliced that Bugster in two?"
Meanwhile, for a moment Shirou's hair seemed to rustle in a nonexistent breeze and his eyes gaze off a small glow, a smirk appearing in his face for just a moment. "Huh, looks like Servant's weapons are ineffective against Bugsters," He said to himself as he reached behind him and produced his Gamer Driver, "Alright, guess I'm doing this myself…"
"What the heck?" Rin exclaimed as Shirou placed the neon yellow device against his waist and a strap emerged and wrapped itself around him. "Where did you just pull that thing from?"
Emiya didn't respond, instead keeping his attention fixed on Salty as he reached down and pressed a button located on the Kimewaza Slot holder.
STAGE SELECT!
All of a sudden a dozen small rectangular screens appeared around and began encircling Shirou, the redheaded intern reaching out and tapped one of them, a wave of energy spread out from from him and engulfed the area, changing it from the cramped alleyway at night to the courtyard of some kind of industrial complex bathed in the light of the setting sun, several large blocks hung in the air dotted about the area.
"H…huh, what the heck?" Rin exclaimed as she took in her new surroundings. "Is this some kind of Reality Marble?"
The site of the upcoming battle decided upon, Shirou reached into his jacket and produced his Gashst, squeezing down on the trigger that was connected to the cartridge-like device.
MIGHTY ACTION X!
"Henshin!" He announced, spinning the Gashat on his finger and rotated it downwards before he slotted it into one of the slots of his Gamer Driver!
GASHAT!
Slotting in the Gashat in its place, a series of holographic screens once again appeared circling Shirou before he reached out and selected one, the screen depicting a cartoonish looking character that had spiky pink hair.
LET'S GAME! METCHA GAME! MUTCHA GAME! WHAT'S YOUR NAME!
A large pixelated screen encompassed the rust haired teen, his arms were folded into a x, and pulled out of both sides, and then…!
I'M A KAMEN RIDER!
Standing there was a figure that neither expected to see. Standing there was a chibi like figure clad in a bulky looking white and black armored suit, its hands and feet bedecked in oversized looking gloves and sneakers like footwear.
The armor on its chest was adorned with an image with what looked like a diamond of four circles, yellow, red, green, and blue on the right side while on the left side there looked like some kind of gauge with two circles with the pictures of a sword and a hammer.
Lastly its head(?) was adorned in goggles-like visor that covered a pair of large orange eyes and spikes of pink hair protruding from the top of its head.
Needless to say both Saber and Rin could only stare in bewilderment at the figure standing between them, both of them shocked at the newly transformed Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Level 1.
"H…huh…!" Rin exclaimed, the ebony haired heiress finally finding her voice as she stared dumbfounded at the chibi-like armored figure standing before her.
"That…that's certainly not what I was expecting." Saber added, she too was unsure of what to make of her Master's new appearance.
"You, I remember you, the Kamen Rider..." Salty exclaimed upon seeing the oversized chibi form of Ex-Aid standing there. "Things won't be like last time; this time you won't stop me from spreading my wondrous Greed throughout this world."
Having said this, the top hat wearing Bugster let out a cry as it released a shower of particles from its body, the mass of orange particles congealing themselves into a dozen humanoid forms.
Flanking Salty was a squad of odd looking creatures, all of them sporting an alien looking orange head that vaguely a cooked chicken, all of them clad in a white chef's outfit with a red apron tied around their waist, several of them wielding oversized cooking utensils while others welding three pronged spears.
"The Bugster has already separated itself from the patient…" Ex-Aid said to himself, clearly unphased by both of his companions' comments about his appearance nor the swarm of enemies standing before him. "Yosh, let's take this to the next level."
The chibified warrior then spread his arms out wide before bringing them together across his chest in an X pattern. "Dai Henshin!" He proclaimed before grabbing the handle located in the front of his Gamer Driver and flipped it open.
GACCHAN! LEVEL UP!
Once more a large rectangular gate emerged from the front of the Driver, the chibi figure leapt up and through it, his left hand raised up as he passed through it.
MIGHTY JUMP! MIGHT KICK!
Passing through the rectangular opening, Ex-Aid's form changed, his chibi like armor disengaged as a more humanoid appeared, before dropping down into a kneeling position with one knee on the ground, the Level 1 chibi head attaching itself onto his back like a piece of armor.
MI~MIGHTY ACTION~ X!
Rising back up to his full height the figure that stood before both Rin and Saber, his left arm resting against his side while extending his other fist into the air as he struck a heroic pose.
Standing there was a figure clad in a pink body suit that had black lining running along the front and back! Sporting a pair of pink shoulder pads that had black exhausts extending from them.
And on its arms were black with green parts that were attached to both of the arms and its wrists! And both the hands were pink gloves with silver armor pieces and green straps! The legs were pink and black, but too had green parts to the haft of the legs and close to the bottom of the forelegs.
The shoes were green and black, and had four pink straps on both of them! On both of the arms, elbows, the knees, and the forelegs, has silver armors.
He wore a similar chestplate that the Level 1 form, although it looked smaller in comparison to the one sported by his chibified first form.
The helmet is silver with the top of it has an anime hairstyle and the visor is white with a green line on the front top, and the eyes are orange anime with white pupils, and last has a black line that looks like a mouth.
Lastly, he still wore the Gamer Driver around its waist, the lid of the device was open and on the back of it has the word 'Gamer Driver', and where it opens, was showing a rectangle intercom with a figure that looks like the armor hero, that has the word level 2 sideways on the right side.
LEVEL UP!
Rin narrowed her eyes at the Ex-Aid's new form. "Honestly I'm not sure which of Emiya's new forms looks more ridiculous…" She muttered, a frown on her face.
"Erm, well…" Saber said, once again lost for words. "At least this one at least looks more functional."
Just then Ex-Aid raised his hand and for a third time a holographic screen depicting the image of a white hammer that sported black lining details, on the side it sported two large buttons, one pink and the other green, and a large green circular head and a line of pink spikes protruding from the top, selecting the image the weapon emerged and was quickly snatched out of the air by the Rider.
GASHACON BREAKER!
"I'm gonna clear this with no continues…" Ex-Aid proclaimed, tossing his Gashacon Breaker into the air where it spun a few times before he caught it again and pointing his weapon at the group of enemies.
"Why you…" Salty growled before thrusting its arm forward in a dramatic fashion, "Get him…"
Heading the blue Bugster command, the squad of grunts charged towards Ex-Aid, each of them letting out a cry as they did so.
Seeing the squad of enemies come charging at him, Ex-Aid's body momentarily tensed up before he too charged forward to meet them, his hammer weapon at the ready, before he leapt high into the air, sailing high above and over the heads of the squad of the grunts before descending, landing amongst them.
No sooner had his feet touched the ground, Ex-Aid swung his hammer weapon at the nearest Grunt Bugster, the flat head of the hammer striking it in the chest and sending it sprawling to the ground.
HIT!
With one of his opponents down, Ex-Aid quickly moved onto the next, using his weapon as well as his fists and feet to knock them down while they in turn did their best to overwhelm the pink and black CR Rider with their sheer numbers. several of them trying to gang up on him at once
Just as he'd knocked down one of the Grunts, Ex-Aid turned around to see another of their number lunge at him, thrusting its tri tipped spear at Ex-Aid, catching him in the shoulder and causing him to stumble backwards.
Seeing the Rider catch himself, the Grunt attempted the action again, thrusting its weapon at Ex-Aid only for him to twist out of the way of its attempt before grabbing a hold of the spear he pulled his opponent towards him and striking it with his Gashacon Hammer.
HIT!
The Grunt that had managed to land a hit on him dealt with, Ex-Aid leapt into the air towards one of the many floating boxes, flipping himself around as he pushed off of the block and back towards the ground, slamming the flat head of the Gashacon Breaker into it and creating an energy burst that knocked back several of the Grunt Buggsters who all of a sudden exploded.
Now sooner had these enemies been dealt with, the remaining grunt Bugsters were quick to surround the pink and black Rider, brandishing their various weapons at him in a threatening manner.
Seeing that he was surrounded, Ex-Aid patted his palm against the large A Button located on one side of his hammer weapon.
JA-KIIN!
No sooner had he done so, a long pink sword blade emerged from his hammer, its blade of a rather peculiar design. His weapon now in its new configuration, Ex-Aid grabbed his Gashat and removed it from the Gamer Driver.
GASHUN!
He then interred into a slot located in the back of his Gashacon Breaker.
GASHAT!
The Gashat inserted the blade of Ex-Aid's weapon was suddenly enveloped in crackling pink energy.
KIMEWAZA! MIGHTY CRITICAL FINISH!
Raising his weapon Ex-Aid swung his sword at the group of grunts in a diagonal slash, at the same time pressing down on the weapons trigger, unleashing a wave of pink crackling energy that cut through them, the remaining Grunt Bugster's bodies cracked with pink energy before they were consumed in an explosion.
KAISHIN NO IPPATSU!
"Damn you," The blue Bugster growled menacingly as he glared at Ex-Aid, trusting its plug arm in the Rider's direction. "You may have defeated my minions but you will not do so with me. I will not lose to you like the last time we fought."
"Heh, you seem pretty confident about that." Ex-Aid replied cockily, resting the blade of his sword against his shoulder. "I'll beat you the same way I did last time."
"You cocky little…" Salty growled as he raised his plug, the tip of which began to crackle and spark before all of a sudden he fired a bolt of electrical energy at Ex-Aid who leapt up and out of the way of it.
No sooner had his feet touched the ground again, Ex-Aid charged towards Salty, slashing at the blue Bugster with his sword, slashing him across the chest several times, just as he was about to deliver his fourth slash Salty twisted himself as he raised his plug arm to block the pink and black Rider's blade.
Ex-Aid lashed out with his other hand and clocking Salty in the side of the 'head' with his fist before pulling back a little before lashing out with his foot and kicking Salty in the chest, the force of his kick knocking it back slightly.
Growling in frustration the fancy looking Buster fired another electrical blast at Ex-Aid, forcing him to fall back so as not to get hit by it. Salty continued to unleash blast after blast at Ex-Aid who in turn ducked and dodged out of the way of them.
The plug-like attachments attached to Salty's left arm began to crackle as the blue skinned Bugster aimed it towards Ex-Aid and fired a powerful electrical blast at the CR Rider who leapt up into the air to avoid it.
As he ascended upwards, Ex-Aid noticed one of the many floating blocks was close to him. Using his sword he slashed at it, slicing the block in two as he fell back down towards the ground, the two pieces falling away to reveal a circular disk that depicted the image of a lightning bolt that had an X over it, the disk spinning in midair several times.
Just as Ex-Aid's feet were about to touch the ground, Satly fired another powerful electrical blast at him, before it could reach him the newly revealed disk began to glow before it was absorbed into Ex-Aid's body.
SHOCK ABSORB!
Moments later Salty's electrical blast made contact with Ex-Aid, however, thanks to his power up the pink and black Rider unaffected by it.
"Just what I needed." Ex-Aid said in a cocky tone, the electricity crackling harmlessly around his body. "Thanks to that power up I can also do this."
Raising his Gashacon Breaker, the electricity gathered together and ran up his arm and towards the weapon, all of a sudden the blade began to spark and crackle as Salty's energy was Channeled into it.
Ex-Aid swung his electrified weapon in a horizontal electrical slash, firing a wave of cracking energy back at Salty, the Bugster who let out a pained cry as he was sent sprawling across the ground.
Rolling onto his side, the dapper looking Bugster fixed Ex-Aid with a hatful glare, "Damn you…" He growled.
"This has been fun and all but I got a patient to save," Ex-Aid replied, unphased by the look Salty was giving him, pulling his Gashat free from his Driver. "So let's wrap this up…"
GASHUUN!
Bringing the device close to him Ex-Aid blew into the bottom of the cartridge like-device as if it were an old video game cartridge before inserting it into the Kimewaza Slot holder on his left hip!
GASHAT!
His Gashat inserted into the slot located at his side, the pink and black Rider pressed the silver button located on the buckle.
KIMEWAZA!
Tossing the Gashacon Breaker aside, Ex-Aid rubbed his hands together before he bent his knees, assuming a crouching position as multicolored cartoonish looking energy gathered around his right leg, holding that pose for several seconds before pressing the silver button a second time.
MIGHTY CRITICAL STRIKE!
Ex-Aid then leapt high into the air where he hung for several seconds before descending back down towards Salty who's picked himself up, extending his crackling foot towards the blue Bugster where he unleashed a barrage of kicks, each blow he landed was accompanied by various impact effects.
HIT! HIT! HIT! GOOD! GOOD! GREAT!
Delivering another kick to Salty, Ex-Aid flipped in midair and delivered one final kick to his opponent, striking Salty in the chest and causing it to stumble backwards, his body crackling with energy while Ex-Aid landed on the ground in a crouched position, his back turned towards Salty.
SATISFYING STRIKE!
"I…I'm Satly…" The Bugsters cried out before he was suddenly consumed in a large explosion, the sudden release of energy creating a mass of flames and smoke that consumed his entire body.
His opponent defeated, Ex-Aid quickly rose back up to his full height, raising a fist into the air in a victory pose, accompanied by a small victory fanfare.
GAME CLEAR!
With Salty defeated, the factory courtyard bathed in the light of the setting sun banished, returning Ex-Aid, Rin and Saber to the deserted square in front of Fuyuki's train station, the cold light of the winter moon illuminating the area.
Lowering his arm Ex-Aid turned to look at Rin, finding her glaring at him whilst also sporting a stern look on her face.
"Emiya, just what the heck was…any of that?" She said, "You said that Bugster is some kind of computer virus, what's it doing in the real world and infecting people? I'm finding it very hard to believe that there's no Magecraft involved in this."
"There isn't, at least not to my knowledge." Ex-Aid replied, scratching the side of his helmet clad face. "As for what exactly is going on, that's kind of a long story. One I guess I should probably fill you in on what's going on here."
"Damn right you are, I want to know exactly what's going on here. Not only that, I want to know why I wasn't informed of any of this." Rin said sternly, scowling at the pink and black CR Rider. "Fuyuki has been Tohsaka territory for over a hundred years, there should be no way that something should occur in this town without my knowledge."
"Shirou, Rin." The sound of Saber's voice caught both of their attention, looking round both of them saw the blond Servant standing over the body of Salty's former host, a grim look in her face. "This man, he does not appear to be doing well."
Momentarily both Magi glanced at one another before the two of them began running towards where Saber was standing, Ex-Aid cancelling his transformation as he ran, his Rider armor vanishing from his body and pulled out his Gamer Scope in preparation to examine the patient. Only for Rin to beat him to the punch, dropping down to her knees she began examining the wounded man.
"Hmmm, this doesn't look good." She said as she examined the bite wound on the man's neck. "You might have defeated that virus but the wound that Servant left behind is worrying."
"Wow Tohsaka, I didn't know you knew anything about medicine." Shirou said, a slight note of awe in his voice as he watched as the ebony haired girl worked.
"I'll have you know I'm knowledgeable about a great many things thank you." Rin replied, not even looking at him as she continued her examination. "It comes with the responsibility of being Second Owner of this town."
"How's he doing?" The rust haired intern asked.
"Not good. While he's not in any danger of fading away, he's still suffering from severe blood loss." Rin replied, a deep frown on her face. "If he's not treated soon he'll likely still perish."
"The nearest hospital is too far away," Shirou replied, frustration in his voice. "Even if we got him into an ambulance right this second we'll never get him there in time."
"Leave that to me." Rin told Ex-Aid, reaching into her jacket pocket she produced several gems. "With the Prana I have stored in these I should be able to stabilize his condition, all the same he needs to get to a hospital as soon as possible."
She then proceeded to place several of the gemstones on the ground around the victim and one more on his chest, the stones in place she began muttering a string of words in German. As she uttered the aria the gem began to give off a warm orange glow that enveloped him.
"Right, I'll call Asuna-san." Shirou said as he grabbed the scope part of his Gamer Scope. "She can dispatch an ambulance and transport us back to CR."
Unbeknownst to the pair of Mages and Saber, a pair of male figures had been observing them. Standing atop one of the nearby buildings they observed
"Those two that showed up with Ex-Aid, pretty sure that Kuroto never mentioned them." One of them, a man with short dark brown hair and wearing a reddish brown with a green sleeve told his companion who was seated cross legged on the ground. "Parado, I don't think they're part of this."
His companion, a younger looking man with messy dark hair let out a chuckle. "Heh, seems some unexpected players have stumbled into our game, Graphite," He replied gleefully. "I wonder though, will they shake things up?"
As he continued to observe the small party down below the one referred to as Graphite fixed his gaze fixed upon Saber. "That blond woman, she may not look it but I can tell that she's some kind of warrior." He said thoughtfully, "I wonder, though, just how strong she is? Will she put up a good fight?"
A smirk spread itself across the messy haired youths face. "Oh, does she excite you Graphite?" He said in a teasing manner before he jumped up to his feet. "Yosh, I can tell that the game is about to get very very interesting."
AN And with that another chapter is the bag. Sorry that this one is a little late, I was finishing up work on an upcoming chapter and wanted to get it finished along with some other IRL stuff that cropped up recently that had to get sorted out which resulted in this chapter delay. Again I apologize and will try to keep on schedule.
Anyway enough excuses for my late ass. This time around we got Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, one of the Rider shows I've not written about yet so there's another one that we can check off the list, also another crossover that I don't believe anyone's taken a serious crack at. I get Ex-Aid's concept might seem that it would be incompatible with the magic elements from Fate, what with it being essentially a medical drama crossed with video games, but like I've said I believe any Fate/Rider story can with enough creative thinking.
I could totally see many of the magical community take interest in the Bugsters upon learning of their existence for a verity of reasons. Characters like Caster and Zouken could find them intriguing and try to figure out as to how they could use them for their own schemes. Gil could perhaps view them as a source of amusement. Finally, an idea I had for later on in the story, Illya bonding with Parado and Poppy stemming from the fact that all three of them are artificial life forms.
And that's not even getting into the potential interactions between the Gamer Riders and the Grail War participants could have. I imagine the one everyone wants to see is a meeting between Kuroto and Gilgamesh although admittedly I'm hesitant to write a scene with them. Not that I think a scene with them wouldn't be interesting/hilarious however I don't think the planet can handle that overwhelming amount of of ego/delusion concentrated into one place.
As for the chapter itself timeline wise it takes place prior to episode 11 of Ex-Aid, so by this point in the story Shirou has already been introduced to Poppy, Hiro, Taiga, Kiriya and, obviously, Kuroto, although they're unaware of him being Gemn as they didn't learn about that until episode 11 (and one episode before he debuted Dangerous Zombie and killed Kiriya, y'know the Christmas episode).
Since Shirou is taking over Emu's role in the story that would he'd also be patient zero for the Bugster Virus, as for when Shirou would be infected with it it would have to taken place prior to the Fuyuki Fire and being found by Kiritsugu as any time after it Shirou would be in possession of Avalon which heals all of his injures meaning that wouldn't need to go to a hospital and create an opportunity to be infected.
While we're on the subject of the Bugster Virus I imagine something that you might be wondering about is whether or not Servants can get infected with it. Like a lot of these Fate/Rider crossovers that the kind of plot point that would probably depends on whose doing the writing, for my story yes, they can be infected with it.
Before I sign off recently an idea for a potential idea for Drive story that I figured I'd run it by everyone and see what you all thought.
Instead of having Shirou replace the main character as I've done in every other chapter I've done so far instead Shinnosuke is a character in this potential story, he'd be a big brother type character for Shirou as was having connections to Rin and Sakura as his late father would have been friends Tokiomi.
Not only would Shinnosuke still be Drive he'd also end up as one of the Master's for the Holy Grail War, while he wouldn't be able to use Magecraft prior to Fifth Grail War starting Shinnosuke would come across an unbound Servant who he'd, not understanding what's going on, end up making a pact with thus becoming the seventh Master.
Not 100% figured out everything yet, one thing I'm still trying decide on is which Servant Shinnosuke should be Master of. I mean I could have had him become Caster's Master instead of Kuzuki buuut I seriously doubt that she'd be very supportive of his relationship with Kiriko plus there's no way in hell he'd allow her to feast on the citizens of Fuyuki to maintain herself.
So if not Caster that pretty much just leaves Assassin, I might be wrong but I'm not sure if we ever learned who the intended Master for Assassin was supposed to be before Caster usurped the position. But again still leaves the question of which one. The obvious choice would be one Hassan's, then again Jack the Ripper could be an interesting partner for Shinnosuke but then again you'd run into the same issues as Caster.
Meanwhile in the world of Gotchard things are progressing. In last weeks episode Fire Gotchard debuted, gottq say the jet engine on his back is kinda goofy but then again its Kamen Rider, this stuff is to expected. That being said episode was Hotarou's first time actually using alchemy to create the his Gotcharigniter, hopefully he'll be doing more in the future.
Also in the episode we learned a couple of interesting things. First kid Hotarou spent time in the Oroboros World interacting with the Chemy's who creates a pair of goggles for him, said goggles resembling a pair that his father wears, this pretty much means that Hotarou's father is an alchemist. That or he's a Digimon protagonist.
Second, in the past part of the episode Greyon referred to the Abyssalis Sisters as dolls telling us that Atropos and her sisters aren't human. While nothing we couldn't figure out on our own, especially given the shows Alchemy theme, its nice to get confirmation.
Finally we got some small but telling stuff on Gotchard Daybreak pretty much confirming that he's a version of Hotarou from five years in the future where Greyon won.
In tomorrows episode we'll be seeing the in show debut of Kamen Rider Majade which I imagine means, depending on how tomorrows episode plays out, we'll be seeing the Rider version of Valvard sooner rather than later.
Anyway, I think that this is a good place to call it for now. As always feel free to drop a comment and let me know your thoughts on this chapter as well as the potential Drive story idea. Again sorry for the late upload.
Until next time, peace out y'all.
