Chapter ?: The Overlord King

Pluck the fruit of Heaven, that the world maybe dyed in your image

Is that the glory you seek? Is that burden one you can bare?

Know this, the lives of men are not ours to control. Not even our own.

We cannot deny the inexorable current of fate that carries us.

But what if fate were to call you…to change the world?

To turn the course of the future?

You cannot defy your fate, but the fate of the world is in your hands…

An uneasiness hung in the night air as five of the six party members were seated at a crackling campfire sitting in the center of them, the light of which caused eerie looking shadows to be cast.

From her position on the felled log that she was seated Rin's eyes shifted to each member of the group. The first was seated next to Kaito whom she was sitting next to, her long time friend and the former leader of Team Baron, whose attention was fixed firmly on the fire in front of him.

Next was Shirou and Illyasviel, the pale skinned Einzbern Master was sitting close to Emiya, something that irked Rin greatly. It wasn't her proximity to the rust haired boy that got a rise out of her, they were family after all.

No, it was the fact that Illyasviel had chosen to seat herself on Emiya's lap was the source of her ire.

Lastly was Saber and Archer, the tanned skinned Servant of the Bow seated on the branch of a nearby tree rather than by the fire, both of whom wore practically identical impassive looks on their faces, despite this Rin could tell that both of them were on high alert, their highly attuned senses able to pick up upon any potential intruder that might foolishly decide to threaten them.

"Well, Kaitou Emiya, we're all waiting to hear what you have to say for yourselves," The Tohsaka heiress spoke up. "You said that you had a pretty out there story for us, so spill. What's this big secret that you've been keeping to yourselves?"

Shirou didn't say anything at first, glancing over in Kaitou's direction, the brunette merely shrugging in response. Shirou sighed. Picking up Illya he placed the pale skinned homunculus on the log beside him, the small girl shooting him a pouting look of disapproval momentarily.

"I'm honestly not sure where I should start, this whole thing has a lot of tangents attached to it, stuff that doesn't seem like it's important but somehow all ties together." Said Shirou, his eyes reflecting the light from the campfire, "I suppose the best place to start is where we are right now. This Forest, they call it Helheim. This is the place that the Inves come from as well as where Yggdrasil had been harvesting Lockseeds."

"This is where the Inves come from?" Rin said, glancing over her shoulder at the forest behind her. "I was kind of curious as to where those weird creatures came from since they didn't seem to be the product of any Magecraft that I'm aware of. Still, if they're from here how did Yggdrasil manage to get access to this place?"

"I told you, this story has a lot of tangents." Shirou replied. "As for how Yggdrasil got here, y'know the park back in Zawame, the one that everyone avoids."

"Of course, people think that it's cursed when in actuality the area is permeated with trace amounts of negative energy created as a byproduct of the final clash of the Fourth Holy Grail War." Rin replied. "What's that got to do with this place?"

"I dunno if you recall but back before the fire, that park area was also the site of a shine attached to a special tree," Shirou continued. "A tree that miraculously survived the great fire."

"Tree Shrine?" Illya spoke up, unsure as to what her brother was talking about.

"Oh yeah, now I remember that thing." Rin said, her eyes widening in recollection. "I recall it just being gone one day, while it was strange that it wasn't destroyed in the fire and its sudden disappearance I didn't think much of it at the time."

"That tree was actually a piece of Helheim, that's how it was able to survive the fire when just about everything else was destroyed." Kaitou spoke up. "Yggdrasil's whole reason for buying up and paying for Zawame's restoration was just a cover so they could get their hands on it as it gave them access to this Forest."

"That does make some sense I suppose." Rin said, a frown spreading across her face as she took this information on board. "Although what I want to know is how the two of you know any of this?"

"A little while back we captured and brought to Yggdrasil's main office, where we were introduced to their head scientist, Sengoku Ryuoma." Shirou informed his companions. "He's the one who developed the Sengoku Drivers that the Beat Riders have been using as well as all the Lockseeds. He basically told us everything."

"That seems suspicious if you ask me," Illya said, a frown etching itself into her pale face. "You're telling me that a big shot scientist for Yggdrasill just spilled the beans about everything to you, why would he do that?"

"He likes to boast about his genius." Kaitou answered her, shrugging his shoulders.

"So he's an egotistical braggart that enjoys the sound of his own voice, he sounds like he'd fit in with a lot of the Major Magus families." Rin mused. "Still why is Yggdrasill doing this? You mentioned that they were the ones creating those belts that the two of you are using as well as producing Lock Seeds, how does that fit into all this?"

Without a word Kaitou rose to his feet, attaching his Sengoku Driver around his waist, and walked over to a nearby fruit tree, taking hold of a fruit that hung from it he plucked it, no sooner had he done so the fruit he was holding gave off a glow before transforming into a brand new Lockseed.

"Normally the fruit is just fruit but while you're wearing one of Yggdrasill's belts it'll turn into a Lockseed." Kaitou said, tossing the item to Rin who caught it out of the air. "Just remember not to eat it."

"Emiya said that before." The ebony haired heiress said as she examined the object in her hand before glancing over at Shirou, "You said if we eat these things that we'll be turned into Inves, is that true?"

"I've seen it with my own eyes." Shirou replied. "Remember Hase and how he just vanished one day?"

Rin nodded her head in response to his question, "I saw him eat one of those fruits and was transformed into an Inves before being killed by Yggdrasil." The rust haired teen told her. "They've gone to a lot of trouble to keep all evidence of the forest's existence from the general public."

Shirou paused for a few moments, the light of the campfire flickering in his golden eyes. "Those zipper-like openings, they've been appearing all over town and Helheim has been encroaching through them into our world." He continued, "If nothing is done to stop it, in a few years this Forest will cover not just Zawame but the entire Earth, the population either being killed or transformed into Inves."

"Wait, you're saying that, if left unchecked, this Forest will consume the planet?" Rin said, a look of horror on her face as she glanced about at the trees that surrounded the group. "Then those ruins back there….?"

"Are a remnant of another world that was consumed by this Forest." Kaitou replied as he stoked the campfire. "It was swallowed up and its surviving inhabitants who eat the fruit were transformed into Inves."

"That's where the Sengoku Driver would come in, they would have supposedly given the wearer a better chance of surviving in this Forest." Shirou told her, holding up his own Sengoku Driver. "However, according to Yggdrasil's CEO, given their time frame, they can only manufacture enough Belts to save a billion people before Hemheim consumes the entire planet."

"Only a billion, given that the current human population is over eight billion, that's nowhere near enough." Archer spoke up, a grave look on his face. "They'd essentially be condemning the majority of the population to death."

"Shit…this is…" Rin muttered to herself as she took all of this in. "Still what is Yggdrasil's end goal here, that's what I can't figure out. I seriously doubt they're poking around this place for nothing."

"They're looking for the Golden Fruit." Kaitou spoke up. "At least that's what the goal for a small group within the company appears to be anyway."

"Golden Fruit?" Illya asked.

"From what Sagura has said, within this forest there is a very powerful item, he called it the Golden Fruit," Shirou informed the silver haired Magus. "He said that whoever claims it will be granted the power to control the Forest as well as decide the fate of the Earth."

"The Golden Fruit," Illya muttered to herself, "From what you describe it sounds like it can grant someone the power of a God."

"And right now Earth's Golden Fruit is in the Overlord's possession." Kaitou said as he once more stoked the fire. "To get it you'll have to beat them first."

"Overlords, I recall you mentioning them earlier." Archer asked. "What exactly are these Overlords?"

"Somewhere in those Ruins back there, there's a group of creatures that supposedly have control over this forest. They're called the Overlords, or at least that's what Ryoma called them." Shirou told the tanned skinned Servant. "They're what's left of another consumed world that's managed to adapt and survive here."

"And you think that these 'Overlords' can be convinced to help us?" Archer, who'd left his tree to join them at the campfire, asked, sounding unconvinced.

"I dunno, but we have to at least try." Shirou sighed. "It's still better than Yggdrasils plan to save only a fraction of the world's population while leaving the rest to perish."

Silence fell across the group, Rin Illya and both Servants processing this new information that Shirou and Kaitou had presented them with.

"Archer, I've made a decision." Rin told her Servant. "As much as it pains me to do so, we're abandoning the Holy Grail War."

"Are you sure about this Rin?" Archer inquired, fixing his Master with a questioning look.

"Of course I am." Rin replied in a commanding tone. "What good is there in obtaining the Holy Grail if there's no Earth."

"Heh, if most in the Magical community were to hear you say that it would be considered utterly scandalous Rin." Illya said in an offhanded tone, shaking her head before turning to look at Shirou, "Very well, the Einzbern will aid you in combating this forest."

"Illya, you mean that?" Shirou inquired.

"Of course, in this instance the continued existence of the planet takes higher priority than obtaining the Holy Grail." The silver haired girl replied. "Besides we're family, it's only right that I support you in this."

"What about you Saber, what are your thoughts on this?" Rin asked, turning to look towards the blond Servant. "You're being awfully quiet."

Saber raised her head to look at Shirou, a stern expression on her face and a look of hurt in her green eyes. "Why, Shirou? Why didn't you inform me of any of this?" She asked her Master, despite her attempt to keep her tone even, it was clear that she was angry at him.

"Saber, I'm sorry." Shirou replied lowering his head to look at the fire, unable to meet her gaze.

"We are Master and Servant, above all else we should have complete trust in each other. But you didn't." The former King continued, her composure slipping as she did so, "Did it not occur to you that I could have helped you, I could have aided you in dealing with both Yggdrasil and this Forest but instead you went behind my back and kept it a secret. So I will ask you again Shirou, why did you not trust me?"

"Because I was afraid." Shirou replied, shame in his voice as he said this. "I was afraid of what you might do if I told you about the existence of the fruit. It already seemed like you were really determined to get the Holy Grail so informing you about something that surpasses it…"

Saber stared him, her look of sternness morphing into one of disappointment and hurt. "You…you didn't trust me because you thought that I'd betray you if I learned of the existence of this fruit. That I'd abandon my oath to seek it out for myself." She replied, the anger in her voice disappearing and replaced with disappointment. "I don't care if the world burns as long as I get what I want, is that really what you think of me Shirou?"

"I dunno. You seemed pretty dead set on being the one to get the Grail. And then Sagura said…" Shirou buried his head in his hands before letting out a long frustrated groan. "I'm sorry…I…I should have trusted you."

"Damn right you should have." Saber snapped back. "At the beginning of the Holy Grail War I swore to be your sword but I can only be effective if I have your full trust. This might come as a shock to you but while I did indeed desire the Holy Grail, I am not so blind to see that preventing Helheim from spreading across the Earth is far more important."

An awkward silence descended over them, no one seeming to know what to say. Both Shirou and Saber averted their gaze away from the other.

"What has happened to us Shirou? You and I, we were supposed to fight together." Saber spoke up. "But as of late we've only drifted further and further apart."

"I…I don't know." Shirou replied shamefully. "It's not like I wanted to keep secrets from you, I would have preferred to have been honest with you but…"

"I want to trust you Shirou, completely." Saber told him, managing to regain her composure following her emotional outburst. "But to do that you also need to have complete trust in me."

"I do, I do trust you, Saber." The rust haired Master/Armored Rider told her. "I was wrong, I see that now. I should have been honest with what was going on. I promise from now on that I'll be 100% honest with you."

Another pause fell over them, Saber and Shirou staring at one another.

"From now on no more secrets between us." Saber said to him.

"Yeah, ok." Shirou replied, nodding his head in agreement. "No more secrets."

"Very well then, I will use my sword to push this accursed forest back." Saber said, her voice filled with conviction. "As Rin said, what good is claiming the Holy Grail if we lose the Earth in the process."

"Saber…" A small smile graced Shirou's lips. "Thank you."

"I wouldn't start celebrating just yet. For as powerful as Archer and I are, we are only two." The former King told him. "If you wish to push Helheim back you will need more allies and powerful ones at that."

"You're right about that," Shirou replied, "Maybe if we could get the other Masters and Armored Riders to help us…"

"I wouldn't count on any of the other Masters and Servants to aid you, believing that they would help us goes to show how painfully naive you are." Archer spoke up, dismissiveness in his voice as he fixed Shirou with a stern look. "Think about it, Emiya Shirou, what do you expect to happen if they were to learn of the existence of an item that exceeds the power of the Holy Grail. Why fight over a single wish when instead you can be granted the power of a God?"

"So you're saying that we shouldn't even try?" Shirou shot back. "Saber's right, we can't do this by ourselves. Besides, Caster and her Master are already involved with Yggdrasil."

"Caster and her Master?" said Rin in a questioning tone, "What have they got to do with this?"

"Quite a lot actually." Shirou replied. "From the looks of things Caster has been working with Yggdrasil for a while now."

"A Servant is working with Yggdrasil?" Saber questioned. "How is that possible?"

"Because Caster's Master is Kureshima Takatora, Yggdrasil's CEO and Mitsuzane's older brother." Shirou informed her.

"Wait, you're telling me that Kureshima is a Mage?" Kaitou questioned, surprised at this news, looking to Rin. "Is that true?"

"No way, if the Kureshima family were part of the Moonlit World I'd know about it. People with Magecraft can detect it in others no matter how faint." Rin told him. "Without access to Magecraft there's no way that someone like Kureshima Takatora could have been selected as a Master let alone summoned a Servant."

"He doesn't need to have summoned her to make a pact, not if the Magus who did the original summoning is already dead?" Illya spoke up. "Have you forgotten that it is possible for unbound Servants to make new contracts if their original Master is killed, while possessing the ability to use Magecraft is optimal, that new person doesn't necessarily need to be a Mage."

"So what you're saying is that Takatora could have found Caster after something happened to her original Master and she made a contract with him?" Shirou said, frowning as he pondered this. "If true then it's possible to be a Master without being a Mage."

"I think we're getting off topic." Archer said in a firm tone, steering them back on course. "As fascinating as all this is, it does nothing to help solve our current predicament."

"That part is simple enough, we go down to those ruins, confront the Overlords and we force them to send us back to Earth." Kaitou said, his tone not leaving any room for argument.

"Your plan is truly foolish, confronting an enemy while in a weakened state." Saber told the former leader of Team Baron. "Then again we seem to be lacking in other options."

Letting out a sigh, a serious look appeared on the former King's face. "Very well then, if we are to confront these Overlords then it is best to rest up and conserve and recover whatever energy that we can." She told the group. "Just be aware that Archer and I won't be at our full strength when we face these Overlords."

"You sure about that Saber, I mean we are in what could be considered enemy territory right now." Kaitou asked the blond haired woman. "We should organise some kind of watch rotation to keep an eye out just in case something from out there wanders in here."

"Worry not, being Servants Archer and I do not require sleep." Saber told the teen in the black and red coat. "We will keep watch while you get your rest."

"That's not necessary, I am capable of keeping watch by myself." Archer said, rising to his feet before he began walking back towards the tree he'd been sitting in earlier. "Saber, get some sleep. You need it just as much as Rin and the others do."

"Are you sure Archer, I don't mind staying up." Saber said to her fellow Servant. "After all we went through in the Einzbern Castle, you believe that you can manage by yourself?"

"Of course, I am a properly summoned Servant after all. Besides, given Emiya Shirou's complete lack of supplying you with Prana you will need to conserve all the strength that you can." Stopping in his tracks, he then looked over at Saber, "I will make sure that you are not disturbed."

"Very well, thank you Acher." Saber said, offering the tanned skinned man a nod of thanks before, with a simple leap he propelled himself back up into the tree.

Once he was gone Saber turned her attention back to the others gathered around the campfire. "I suppose, if there's nothing else to discuss, we should all turn in." She told them. "I get the feeling tomorrow is going to be a trying day."

Nodding in agreement the three Magi and Kaitou soon settled themselves down for the night, all of them trying to get as comfortable as they could lying on the ground, one by one each of them drifting off to sleep.

Once they were settled Archer turned his gaze towards the sky, taking in the sight of the vast ocean of stars as well as the silvery moon that hung high above while on the ground the fire that Shirou and the others had made continued to burn away until only embers remained.

The light of a new day had dawned, its light spreading across the valley as Shirou and his group made their way through the crumbling remains of a civilization that was now lost time, one of countless others that had been lost to the forest of Helheim.

All of them were on edge as they passed through the remains of what would have been a thriving metropolis now as quiet as the grave. Eventually the line of buildings thinned out and they found themselves at the entrance of a large cave.

The echoing sound of footsteps approaching from within was heard, altered by their presence, and from the opening emerged a tall red and black creature with glowing yellow eyes, its body covered in skin that resembled armor with a cape dangling off of its back and wielding a particular looking sword with an ornate looking attachment connected to the pommel.

"That's an Overlord?" Rin muttered to herself as the red and black skinned Kaijin walked towards them. "Damn, this thing seems really powerful…"

This Overlord, see it reminded of that night outside of Kotomine Church where she, Emiya and Saber had encountered Berserker for the first time. Like the colossal Servant this creature seemed to project an aura of both strength as well as barely contained aggression, that mere fact alone terrified her.

"Indeed," Saber replied as she assumed her battle garb, "This creature, its very being radiates an aura of great strength."

"Aei, kyrb ypyum." The red Overlord spoke, from the sound of its tone it seemed to groan upon seeing Kaito, "Foonf hubo aei tutm'd hoycm dlo scen hyfd duno aei kycpot um loco."

Kaitou stayed quiet as the red Overlords steely fixed its gaze upon him, matching its glare with his own. This went on for a few seconds before the red skinned creature standing before him let out a groan and shook its head.

"Sumo, pioff u'hh qifd lywo de koyd aei umde dlo pceimt ypyum." They heard it say. "Nyako dluf duno aei'hh hoycm dlyd aei lywo me lego es tosoydump no."

Kaitou glared at the red skinned Overlord, producing his Sengoku Driver and placed it against his waist, the strap protruding from it and securing itself to him. "Emiya…" The brunette said, his gaze never shifting from the Overlord.

"Right…" Shirou replied, securing his own Driver to himself, before he and Kaitou pulled out their Lockseeds, popped the locks and secured them to their respective belts.

ORANGE…/BANANA…

"Tohsaka, Illya, it is probably best that you two should find a place to hide." Shirou told the two girls.

"What?" Rin exclaimed. "You really expect us to go hide while you fight this thing."

"Do not argue Rin, for once I agree with Emiya Shirou." Archer told his Master as he produced one of his signature falchions in each of his hands, "None of us are at peak strength and if these Overlords truly are as strong as he and Kumon Kaito have been told then I cannot guarantee your safety."

Rin glared at both Gaim and Archer, clearly not happy about being told that she'd have to go hide like some scared child.

"Fine," She said, her tone harsh. Reaching out she took hold of Illya's shoulder and began leading her away. "Come on Illya, the silly boys want to fight."

As both Rin and Illya retreated, Shirou and Kaitou Popped the locks of their Lockseeds and attached them to their respective Drivers.

ORANGE! LOCK ON…/BANANA! LOCK ON…

A pair of zipper openings appeared above the two of them, from which emerged the mechanical looking fruit.

"Henshin…"/"Henshin…" Both of them proclaimed as they pressed down on the small blade attached to their Sengoku Drivers, the front plate of their Lockseeds falling open.

Their respective fruit descended upon them, the bodysuit of their Rider forms forming on their bodies before the fruit unfurled themselves into their armored forms.

SOIYA! ORANGE ARMS! HANAMICHI, ON SUTĒJI!

COME ON! BANANA ARMS! (trumpets) KNIGHT OF SPEAR!

Snarling, the red Overlord flourished its weapon before it then charged forward, the pair of Armored Riders and the two Servants bracing themselves in preparation, before moments later the red Overlord's body began to shimmer before it suddenly vanished in a streak of red.

"H…huh!" Gaim exclaimed, shocked by his opponent's sudden disappearance. "He's gone."

"Stay alert." Baron called out, the red, yellow and silver Rider gripping his lance in preparation. "This thing has all sorts of tricks at its disposal."

No sooner had he said this the red Overlord reappeared, appearing before Gaim, slashing at the unprepared Rider with his sword across the chest with enough force to knock him backwards.

Seeing her Master go down, Saber dashing towards the red skinned Kaijin, her sword at ready to avenge her Master, the former king attempting to slash at him, a resounding clang ringing out as both of their swords collided with one another.

Momentarily taken aback by her opponent's strength, Saber gritted her teeth as she poured every last ounce of her strength behind her sword as she tried to overpower the red skinned creature before her only for him to hold strong against her attempt.

"Uf dluf coyhha yhh aei'wo ped, aei fdigut nemboaf yco gydlodur." The red Kaijin said, clearly unimpressed by Saber's attempt to slash at him. "Us dluf uf coyhha yhh aei'wo ped, fdeg vyfdump na duno ymt qifd hod no buhh aei yhcoyta."

To Saber's surprise her opponent grabbed a hold of the blade of her sword and, to everyone's surprise, managed to pull it free from her grip, and delivered a vicious kick to her midsection and sending her flying before she crashed into the side of a nearby tree.

No sooner had Saber been dispatched the sound of hurried footsteps was heard and looking round the red Overlord was met by the sight of Baron who was charging towards him, with a cry the red, silver and yellow Rider thrust his spear at the Kaijin who effortlessly batted it away before slicing at him with his sword.

Seeing this Baron dropped to the ground and rolled out the way to avoid the Overlord's attempt to cut him down, thrust his lance at his opponent as he rose only for the red Overlord to suddenly vanish from sight before reappearing moments later a short distance behind Baron.

"Aei'co korenump y gyum de toyh vudl, ygo." He said as he reached down and picked Saber's sword up from off of the ground. "Qifd tuo yhcoyta." He then tossed the weapon at Baron, the blade lashing him across the shoulder.

No sooner had Baron been taken care of or a streak of red shot past the red and black Overlord as Archer appeared before him, the white haired Servant lashing out at his opponent with one of his swords, reacting quickly the Overlord leaned out of the way of Archer's attempted to slash at him before blocking the Servant's other sword with his own. As the two of them continued to trade blades the Kajin's eyes gave off a sudden glow, nearby several long leaf covered vines suddenly rustled before they suddenly launched themselves towards Archer.

Archer ducked and weaved out of the way of each of the vines, slicing at them as they passed by, each one trying to grab a hold of him.

This however provided the Overlord with just the opening it needed, vanishing and reappearing before Archer, bringing its sword down in a vertical slash at him, Archer barely having enough time to raise his twin blades in an attempt to block, both sets of weapons colliding with one another.

The Overlord pressing his weight against Archer, fractures beginning to appear along the blades of Kansho and Byakuya before they suddenly shattered like glass, the red Overlord pulled back slightly before thrusting his weapon forward, Archer's eyes widened slightly and he gritted his teeth as his opponent drove his sword through the tanned skinned Servant's gut, a spurt of blood erupting from the Servant of the Bow's body.

"El, vlyd'f dluf?" The red Overlord said as he watched as Archer struggled back to his feet. "Aei foon de ko neco ticykho dlym yhh dlo edloc linym'f dlyd lywo vymtocot um loco."

Archer didn't say anything, choosing instead to merely glare back at the Kaijin who suddenly began laughing. "Reiht ud ko dlyd emo es aei ygof nupld yrdiyhha ko vecdl na duno." He said. "U te lego fe, u kycoha lyt de dca yhh dlo edlocf vlom u rciflot yhh dlo edlocf. Aei koddoc med tufyggeumd no linym."

All the while Rin and Illya watched the battle play out from their hiding spot, both of them watching in stunned silence at just how powerful the opponent that their companions were going up against was.

"D…damn…" Rin muttered, finding her voice as she stared wide eyed and a dumbfounded look in her face as both she and Illya watched as the two Riders and two Servants were being decimated by this Overlord.

As much as she hated to admit it there was nothing that she could have done against an opponent like this.

While she didn't say anything Illya couldn't bring herself to argue with the Tohsaka heiress. Despite having been informed of the Overlords existence she found been ill prepared to witness one in person.

She'd believed her Servant Berserker, the famed Greek hero Hercules, was the strongest being that she'd ever met. However, witnessing Gaim and his group, four individuals who hours ago had fought against and forced the legendary King Gilgamesh into retreat, being utterly decimated by the red and black Kaijin, she found herself reevaluating that belief.

It was then the sound of chuckling was heard, the sound bringing a sudden halt to the fighting as the combatants looked over in the direction it had come from and in doing so they were met by the sight of a second Overlord, finding it standing above the entrance to the cavern.

This one that was of a more slender build than the one Gaim, Baron and the two Servants had engaged, this one sporting green armored skin, its body sporting gold etching, their head adorned by a golden crown and sporting a pair of red eyes, holding in one of its hands a long staff with an ornate looking axe blade attached to it.

"Another one?" Rin exclaimed. "This is bad, Kaitou and the others could barely handle one of these things, now they have two of them to deal with."

The red skinned Overlord glared at the new arrival. "Redyue…" He growled, clearly not thrilled about the green skinned Overlord's arrival "Vla yco aei loco, U tem'd moot aeic lohg."

The aforementioned Redyue let out another chuckle, something that only seemed to anger their compatriot further, before she suddenly leapt down off of the ledge and landed unharmed on the ground below and began making her way towards him.

"Mev mev, me moot sec dlyd. U vyf nocoha yf de vlen eic piofdf yco Dēmushu?" The newly arrived Overlord said, their voice sounding somewhat female despite her distorted tone, pointing her staff-like weapon in the direction of Gaim, Baron and the two Servants, all of whom were struggling back to their feet. "Yco dlofo emof puwump aei dceikho, veihtb hubo na yffufdymro um toyhump vudl dlon?"

"You bastards," Baron growled as he rose up, pulling out his Mango Lockseed and popping the lock on it before detached his Banana Lockseed and attached the new one in its place. "I'm…I'm not going to lose, not to you, not to anyone…"

MANGO! LOCK ON…

"Damn, these guys," Gaim groaned, his aching as he did so. "They're strong, stronger than Ryouma let on…" As he said this, he produced his Cherry Energy Lockseed, popped the lock on it before attaching it to his Driver and closed up his Orange Lockseed.

CHERRY ENERGY! LOCK ON…

The orange themed armor closed itself up before detaching itself from Gaim's shoulders, rising up to meet the Cherry armor where they combined together before dropping down onto Gaim where it unfolded itself into its armored form, a Sonic Arrow appearing in his hand.

SOIYA! MIX! ORANGE ARMS! HANAMICHI, ON SUTĒJI! JIMBER CHERRY! HA-HA!

Similarly a zipper like portal opened up above Baron, a red folded up egg shaped object emerging from it which descended towards him, the Banana armor vanishing, and settled itself onto his shoulders where it unfolded itself into red armor with orange segmented pieces attached as well as shoulder pads and a cape. In addition his Mango Punisher, a large mace-like weapon that had sharpened panels protruding from it, appeared in his hands.

COME ON! MANGO ARMS! FIGHT OF HAMMER!

Now clad in their new armor and their new weapons in hand Gaim and Baron charged forward the pair of Overlords, a low growl escaping from Dēmushu before he too charged to meet them while Redyue let out what sounded like an amused chuckle before following after Dēmushu, her spear/axe held out at her side as he moved.

Within moments both Gaim and Baron were locked in combat with the two Overlords, Gaim facing off against Redyue, sidestepping out of the way as she attempted to slash at him with a swing of her spear/axe before responding as he sliced at her with his Sonic Arrow only for her to lean out of the way of his attempt before blocking his bladed bow with the shaft of her own weapon.

"Umdocofdump, aei'co med hubo dlo edloc emo. Aei'co med yf led loytot ec yppcoffuwo." She told the Orange Samurai Rider, her piercing red eyes staring into the dark orange segmented lenses of Gaim's Kabuto helmet. "Copycthoff aei'co ossecdf yco sciudhoff, aei reiht mowoc lego de kofd no."

A low sounding growl escaped Gaim as he retracted his Sonic Arrow before he unleashed a series of slashes at Redyue who laughed in response to his efforts as she effortlessly side stepped out of each of his attempts to slash her.

"Yhh dlo fyno ghoyfo boog dcaump." She said, sounding highly amused. "Vydrlump na gcoa fdcippho sciudhoffha ynifof no pcoydha."

Meanwhile Baron was busy dealing with Dēmush, the Knight grunting heavily each time he swung his heavy mace-like club at his opponent who merely avoided or blocked each of his attempts.

Frustration boiling over, Dēmushu swung his sword at Baron who attempted to block it with his mace only to find himself being pushed back a short distance.

"Aei…aei'co fe tynm ymmeaump." Dēmushu demanded as he pressed his full weight behind his sword, "Renump loco ypyum ymt ypyum de rlyhhompo if, oyrl duno hungump ess vudl aeic dyuh kodvoom aeic hopf. Yco yhh linymf aeic yf fdigut yf aei yco, ec yco aei qifd y fgoruyh bumt es fdigut?"

Before Baron could respond the sound of hurried footsteps was heard and glancing over Dēmushu was met by the sight of Saber charging towards him, the blond haired swordswoman blade raised before she delivered a powerful at him, forcing the Overlord to disengage from Baron before he suddenly vanish from view and reappear a short distance away from the pair.

"Ymmeaump gofd…" The red Overlord snarled as he glared at Saber. "Aei guff no ess yf nirl yf dlyd teof.

"Save your words monster," Saber retorted. "I do not understand your words but your actions speak clearly, they tell me that you're nothing more than a rabid animal in need of putting down. If I must, I shall accept the responsibility of doing so."

Saber then glanced over to Baron, seeing the knightly Beat Rider panting as he recovered. "Sir Kaito, are you alright?" She inquired.

"I'm fine." Baron retorted, readying his Mango Punisher as he prepared to re-engage his opponent. "I don't need your help."

"Don't be foolish, it's quite obvious that none of us is capable of taking on one of these creatures alone." Saber said strictly. "The only hope of defeating this foe is if we assist one another."

"Tsk, whatever." Baron scoffed before he then charged forward, his Mango Punisher at the ready. "Just try not to get in my way."

Despite herself Saber couldn't keep the frown she wore from deepening slightly before both of them moving in to engage Dēmushu once more.

Meanwhile Gaim had his hands full with Redyue, the predominantly green Overlord easily able to either block or dodge out of the way each time he tried to slash or fire a shot at her.

" Reno mev linym, aei moot de te koddoc dlym dlyd." Redyue chuckled as she twisted out of the way of another of Gaim's attempts to slash her. "Aei coyhha dlumb dlyd aei rym rhyun dlo gcuxo us dluf uf dlo kofd dlyd aei rym te?"

All of a sudden Redyue's eyes suddenly flashed and before Gaim could begin to question what this could mean a rustling noise caught his attention. Glancing around him the Samurai Beat Rider saw dozens of leafy vines creeping towards him.

Muttering a curse, Gaim swung his Sonic Arrow, slicing at the vines as they shot towards him, cutting them down before they could wrap themselves around him. Try as he might, however he wasn't able to stop all of them and one of them managed to snare him, wrapping itself around his neck which in turn allowed four more to latch onto him, wrap themselves around each of his limbs.

"Uf dlyd yhh aei lywo, lev tufyggeumdump." Redyue said as she began approaching the bound Rider, grabbing his Sonic Arrow and pulling it free from Gaim's grip before tossing it aside. "U figgefo ud vyf dee nirl de ozgord nirl scen aeic gudusih fgoruof."

Letting out a chuckle, the green Overlord then took a few steps backwards, twirling her spear before grasping it in both of her hands and pointing the bladed tip in Gaim's direction.

"Fduhh, sec poddump dluf syc ymt flevump no qifd lev oyfa ud vuhh ko de ozdocnumydo aeic bumt u'hh pcymd aei y jiurb toydl." She told the bound Rider as he struggled to free himself, before she raised it above her head. "Sycovohh linym…"

Just as seemed as she was about to bring her weapon down a buzzing noise caught both Redyue and Gaim's attention when several pairs of what looked to be dusks spinning at high speed appeared from out of seemingly nowhere, severing the vines that bound Gaim before launching themselves towards Redyue.

"Vly…vlyd dlo…" Redyue exclaimed in her native tongue as she used her spear to deflect the incoming disks, swatting each of them out of the air before they could reach her.

No sooner had she dispatched the last one Archer suddenly appeared before her in a blur of red, catching the green Overlord by surprise, with one of his swords the Servant of the Bow slashed at Redyue who let out a grunt of pain as the blade cut into her side and a spurt of blood erupted from her wound.

"A…Archer…" Gaim stammered, as he stared at Archer's back, surprised that he'd come to his aid.

"On your feet Emiya Shirou, this fight is far from over." The tanned skinned man told him, never taking his eyes off of his opponent. "You said that our only way out of this forest is by defeating them, if so get back on your feet and fight. Or do you intend to simply stay down and die?"

Hearing Archer say this, Gaim felt a momentary flash of frustration pass through him, a growl escaping from him as he reached over to grab his Sonic Arrow before getting back to his feet.

"Bastard, I'll show you…" He muttered to himself. "I'm not done yet."

Meanwhile Redyue was fixing Archer with a hateful glare, her hand pressed up against the wound that she'd received from him. "Vla aei…" She growled as the wound in her side regenerated.

All of a sudden her eyes once again glowed red before all of a sudden a painfully loud noise filled the air accompanied by a powerful shockwave, a sound so loud both Gaim and Archer as well as both Baron and Saber ceased their hostilities as they were forced to clap their hands to their heads as they futility tried to block out the nest deafening noise.

Try as they might, the quartet were also unable to resist the powerful wave of force that Redyue had unleashed along with her sonic attack and quickly Gaim, Saber, Archer and Baron were thrown to the ground, still unsuccessfully trying to block out the noise, both Armored Riders also bring knocked out of their transformations.

"Ymmeaump gofdf," Redyue said as she picked herself up off the ground, still glaring at Gaim and his companions. "Ume hempoc sumt aei ynifump."

"Lol, cofecdump de imtoclymtot dcurbf yf ifiyh Redyue, lev hubo aei." Dēmushu commented as he approached. "Us rym med dcifd aeic evm fdcompdl de toyh vudl dlofo ygof dlom fdymt yfuto, u vuhh rcifl dlon vudl me gcekhon."

Hearing this type green Overlord turned her glare upon her companion, fixing him with a steely gaze. "Dfb, daguryh Dēmushu," She retorted, "Cohaump em medlump kid noco fdcompdl de pod dlo qek temo. Aei dciha yco y kcido."

"Vlyd vyf dlyd?" Dēmushu shot back. "Yco aei nerbump no?"

"Vlyd uf peump em eid dloco?" An unfamiliar voice was heard, the sound of it seeming to resonate from the very forest itself. "Dēmushu, Redyue, sec vlyd coyfem yco aei imykho de cogoh y pceig es umdcitocf?

All of a sudden movement could be seen from within the nearby cavern and from it emerged another Overlord, this one being more humanoid in appearance than its two companions, his body was mostly white, blue, and gray while donned an unusual cloak with spikes appearing on both sides of his neck. In one hand he wielded a large glaive like weapon, a massive and somewhat worn looking zanbato style blade attached to a shaft.

"H…huh…?" Shirou grunted as he attempted to pick himself back up off the ground. "There's another one we have to deal with?"

"Damnit," Archer grimaced as he picked himself up off of the ground, staring at the new arrival as he did so. "This one…we could barely handle the other two as it was, the white one, something tells that he's stronger than they are combined."

"Roshuo…" Redyue muttered as the white skinned Overlord approached them, the white skinned Kaijin turning their attention turning to both Riders as well as Saber and Archer. "Dlo linym, dloa lywo reno ypyum."

"Neco es aei." The Overlord king seemed to sigh. "Duno ymt duno ypyum aei reno umde eic secofd. Vla rym'd aei fungha hoywo if um goyro?"

"Vo rym'd qifd yhhev dluf de pe imgimuflot. Kyt omeipl dlyd dloa reno um de eic secofd kid mev dloa'co yd eic teec." Dēmushu insisted, gesturing towards the pair of Servants and Armored Riders with his sword. "Secpod vlyd dlo fmybo fyut, vo fleiht qifd buhh dlon yhh ymt ko temo vudl dlon."

Roshou however shook his head. "Me, firl y dlump veiht ko geumdhoff, vo lywo foom qifd lev tofdcirduwo dlofo linymf yco." He told the red skinned Kaijin. "Puwom duno dloa vuhh fungha tofdcea dlonfohwof."

A scowl on his face, Kaitou grabbed his Sengoku Driver and detached it from around his waist, at the same time producing his Genesis Driver attached it in its place. His new Driver attached, he then pulled out his Lemon Energy Lockseed, popped the lock and attached it to the Driver.

LEMON ENERGY! LOCK ON…

Noticing this, Shirou let out a low groan as he produced his Kachidoki Lockseed and popped the lock in it and attached it to his Sengoku Driver. This was bad, Ryouma had really undersold just how strong these Overlords truly were.

KACHIDOKI! LOCK ON…

Once again a pair of zipper like openings appeared above both boys Armored Riders, from both of them a folded up armored form that resembled the fruit that they were based upon emerged.

"Henshin…"/"Henshin…" The two of them declared, activating their respective Lockseeds, their Rider Suits reappearing in their bodies as the folded up armors descended towards them, their previously used armor vanishing into a shower of glowing particles, before settling on to their shoulders where they unfurled themselves into the strongest forms both Baron and Gaim had access to along with the weapons both forms came with, the Sonic Arrow and Hinawadaidai-DJ-Ju respectively.

SODA! LEMON ENERGY ARMS! FIGHT THE POWER! FIGHT THE POWER! FIGHT, FIGHT, FI…FI…FI…FI…FIGHT!

SOYIA! KACHIDOKI ARMS! IZA, SHUTSUJIN, EI, EI, OH!

"Foo, dlofo umdcitocf vufl de remdumio dlouc umdcifuem em eic leno. Goclygf na hect, aei fleiht puwo dlofo linymf y cojiuco tonemfdcyduem es aeic gevoc." Redyue said to her leader, indicating towards both Gaim and Baron. "Nyako vudmoffump ysdoc ud dloa'hh sumyhha dlumb dvuro koseco umdcitump um eic leno yma sicdloc.

Roshou sighed wearily. "Woca vohh dlom." He said, "Us dlyd'f vlyd ud vuhh dybo…"

The white Overlord then took a few steps forward towards Gaim and his party before pointing his large weapon in their direction.

"U lywo yhhevot aei linymf lywo umdcitot em eic leno sec syc dee hemp mev, yf bump ud foonf dlyd u nifd dybo gocfemyh cofgemfukuhuda de fomt aei gyrbump." He told them, his voice carrying an air of authority. "Qifd bmev dlyd u dybo me ghoyfico um teump dluf kid moudloc vuhh u necm aei us aei syhh loco."

Behind his helmet, Baron glared at the white Overlord that stood before him. "This guy, He must be the one that's got Earth's Golden Fruit…" Baron said to himself as he pointed his bow like weapon at the Overlord King, "That power, it will be mine…"

Pulling back the Nocking Drawer the former Team Baron fired off several energy arrows at Roshou who utilized his large sword to deflect each of Baron's shots.

Undeterred the red and yellow Armored Rider then moved into engage the white Kaijin who once more used his larger weapon to fend off his attempts to slash at him, for a moment both of them had their weapons locked when Roshou threw all of his weight behind his Joeshuimu, effortlessly knocking Baron to the side and send him sprawling to the ground.

"Kaitou…" Gaim exclaimed as he saw Roshou standing over Barin's fallen form, "Damnit…"

Raising his Hinawadaidai-DJ-Ju, Gaim preseed his fingers to the DJ Table and scratched it a few times before twisting the DJ Pitch, horagai music emanating from it, and tuned it to its lowest setting, before pointing the gun at Roshou and pulled the trigger, firing several high powered cannon shots at the white Overlord.

Glancing towards the incoming shots, and in doing so turning his attention away from Baron allowing for him to roll out of the way, Roshou suddenly vanished from view, much like Dēmushu had done, only to reappear moments later in front of the orange Samurai Rider before he could even react when the Overlord King swung his Joeshuimu at him.

Moments later the clang of metal striking metal rang out, to Gaim's surprise he found Saber standing before him, her held out before her as she attempted to block Roshou's weapon with her own.

"Shirou, don't let your focus waver." The blond haired woman told him, "As you said, this is one enemy that we cannot underestimate."

"Saber…" Gaim muttered. Despite the determined look on the former King's face he'd heard a slight strain to her voice, which could only mean that Saber was struggling to hold back the Overlord's much larger blade.

This was bad. According to Tohsaka, Heroic Spirits were incarnations of individuals that were typically summoned at the peak of their legend, their strengths and abilities bolstered further by the Holy Grail. The Saber standing before her was in her prime and even she was struggling against the opponent that stood before her.

Across from her, Roshou muttered something inaudible before he pulled back his Joeshuimu, before either Gaim or Saber could react all of a sudden both Master and Servant were launched off of their feet and knocked backwards by a powerful telekinetic shove that knocked them back a fair distance before they were able to catch themselves.

"Saber, are you alright?" Gaim inquired of the blond haired Servant.

"Do not concern yourself, I am fine." Saber assured him. "Shirou, do not hold back, defeating this opponent will require everything that we have."

"Yeah, right…" Gaim replied before grabbing his Musou Saber from off of his side and inserted the blade inside the barrel of the Hinawadaidai-DJ-Ju, converting the weapon into its Taiken Mode.

His weapon in its new configuration both he and Saber then rushed towards the Overlord King, both Master and Servant delivering a powerful slash with their respective blades, only for both of their swords to pass through him as if he were made of air.

"Wha…what the?" Gaim exclaimed, shocked at having witnessed his sword pass through the Kaijin in front of him, and even Saber looked to be caught off guard by this.

Seeing both of their confused states, Roshou swung his own blade at the pair, the mere force behind his swing being enough to knock both Gaim and Saber backwards and send them sprawling across the forest floor.

Whilst Roshou was seemingly busy dealing with Gaim and Saber Baron had gotten back up to his feet, cursing to himself under his breath he quickly moved in to once again engage the white Overlord, slashing at him with his Sonic Arrow, only Roshou proved to be more agile than his bulky frame implied, easily side stepping out of Baron's attempt to slash at him. He then reached out and seized the Knightly Rider by the arm before easily tossing him aside.

No sooner had Roshou dispatched Baron a faint sound from behind caught his attention, glancing over he was met by the sight of Archer mere inches away from him, the tanned skinned Servant slashing at him with Kanshou, the white Overlord twisting his body out of the way to avoid the Bowman's first swing before raising his Joeshuimu to block Archer's follow up attempt.

For a few moments both Roshou and Archer stared at one another before all of a sudden the Servant of the Bow suddenly vanished in a swirl of blue particles accompanied by the faint sound of chimes.

Taken aback momentarily by this the sound of chimes from nearby caught Roshou's ears, turning his head in the direction of the clearing's edge he caught sight of Archer standing there.

Upon being discovered the white haired Servant muttered something, both of his swords vanished and in their place in a swirl of shimmering energy a large black bow appeared while in the other a sword with a twisted drill like blade appeared in the other which he knocked into his bow as if it were an arrow.

Pulling back the string the sword began to change shape, the hilt vanishing and the handle merging with the blade as it elongated and taking on the appearance of an arrow with a twisted head, and released, the projectile slicing through the air at unimaginable speeds.

At the same time that Archer had been engaging Roshou, Baron had picked himself up off of the ground and grabbed the Seaboll Compressor of his Genesis Driver and pushed on it, drawing power from his Lemon Energy Lockseed.

LEMON ENERGY SQUASH!

The blades of his weapon began to glow with a bright yellow energy and, letting out a cry, he unleashed a mighty swing that launched a wave of glowing energy at the Overlord King who barely seemed to register the twin attacks that were being launched towards him.

In a single fluid motion the Overlord King swung his large weapon around, slicing through the energy wave that Baron had launched at him before turning to face the incoming arrow fired at him by Archer, raising his sword as he did so before bringing it down, slicing it the arrow out of the air before it could reach him.

All of a sudden the blade of Roshou's Joeshuimu began to crackle with energy which he then plunges into the ground, sending a blast of electrical energy at all four of his opponents knocking all of them backwards and before they were sent tumbling to the ground.

"Uf dlyd yhh aei lywo, lev tufyggeumdump." Roshou said, disappointment evident in his tone as he watched as Gajm and the others struggled back to their feet. "Med emo ynempfd aei uf vecdla es dlo sciudf gevoc. Yd dluf cydo aei ymt aeic bumt vuhh fungha ko fvyhhevot ig ka dlo secofd."

All of a sudden, dozens of small zipper-like cracks appeared and opened around him, from the opening long leaf covered vines emerged and launched themselves towards the small party who tried to fight them off only to be entangled by them.

All with the exception of Saber who narrowly managed to avoid them, looking back the blond Servant could only watch as Gaim, Baron and Archer were raised into the air before being hurled towards the trees that surrounded the area, slamming them into it before they were dropped onto the ground below.

Having avoided her opponents attempt to ensnare her, Saber charged at Roshuo, gripping her sword she swung it at the white skinned who didn't even flinch as he was quick to use his own large sword/glaive to block her attempt. She tried again and once more Roshuo parried her attempt.

Roshou took the offensive, swinging his much larger weapon at Saber, once again their swords collided, to Saber's surprise the force behind his swing was enough to force her backwards a short distance across the stony surface before she managed to catch herself.

Their weapons locked together, Saber looked up to meet the gaze of the Overlord who loomed over her, doing so she could just make out Roushou's eyes from beneath the brim of his hood, what she saw there truly shocked her. Instead of anger or aggression instead she saw sadness.

"Vlyd uf dluf, dlyd heeb um aei oaof…" She heard him say, "U foo, u rym foo um dlon dlyd aei dee lywo hefd owocadlump."

For a moment Saber was taken aback, while she didn't understand his words somehow she understood his meaning.

Noticing the stunned look on his opponents face Roshuo unleashed more of his incredible power, creating a powerful telekinetic blast that knocked Saber off of her feet and sent her flying backwards before she was sent sprawling to the ground.

"This is bad. that guy, he's just so strong," Gaim muttered to himself. "Just how are we supposed to beat him?"

"Emiya," hearing his name, Gaim turned his head to ser Rin staring back at him.

"Emiya, order Saber to use her Noble Phantasm." Rin called out to Gaim.

"H…huh!" Gaim exclaimed. "Tohsaka, are you serious?"

"Just do it, these creatures are too much for us and we've run out of options." Rin retorted. "This might be our only chance to defeat them."

"I concur Shirou, do it." Saber added as she struggled back to her feet. "Give me the order, we don't appear to have any other option."

"Alright." Gaim said, holding up his left fist, all of a sudden the glowing image of the red stigmata could be seen through his armor. "Saber, as your Master and by my Command Seal, I order you to unleash your Noble Phantasm…"

"As your Servant I acknowledge your command Shirou, my Master." The air that encompassed her sword vanished, revealing a simple yet elegant looking sword, its cross guard blue with gold etching engraved into it.

A bright golden light emanated from her now revealed blade, illuminating the area in a bright golden light as the former King of England raised her sword above her head.

"EX…" Saber cried out as she brought her sword down, cleaving the air with a horizontal slash, "...CALIBUUUUUR!"

Seemingly unphased by the incoming beam of golden energy, Roshou stood his ground and raised his free hand, for a moment a vaguely circular glowing orb appeared before it expanded outwards, forming a semi translucent barrier which moments later the glowing holy energy beam unleashed by Saber collided with, the collision resulting in an almost brilliant burst of light that forced just about everyone to shield their eyes in an effort not to be blinded.

For what seemed like an eternity the holy energy unleashed by the former King seemed to be held in place the barrier erected by Roshou, as if neither were able to overpower the other, that was until all of a sudden the golden energy from Saber's Noble Phantasm contacting smaller and smaller into a tiny glowing orb resting in the palm of the white skinned Overlord's hand closing his fingers around it for a brief moment before opening them again, the holy energy dissipating into tiny glowing particles that quickly faded away.

Gaim, Baron, Archer, Rin, Illya and Saber could only stare in disbelief, seemingly unable to process what they had just witnessed.

"No…no way…" Gaim stammered, "That Overlord, it blocked Saber's Noble Phantasm? Just how strong is this guy?"

"I…I…impossible…" Rin exclaimed. "That was an Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm and that Overlord, it blocked it like it was nothing. These Overlords, they're on a whole other level, they might even surpass Servants."

Wordlessly Roushou extended his hand once more, a wisp of glow energy appearing in his palm that took the form of a glowing object that looked like an apple.

"That…is that…?" Gaim exclaimed as he gazed upon the item that hovered just above Roshou's hand, he and the others looking upon it with both surprise and awe.

"The power of the Golden Fruit…" Illya muttered, "Power that surpasses the Holy Grail, the power of a God…"

Just as it looked as if Dēmushu and Redyue were about to move to re-engage them, Roshuo raised his hand and shook his head, the two of them quickly backing down.

"Dluf sciud, u flyhh med hod yma es aei lywo ud." Roshuo told them, dismissing the glowing fruit. "Aeic bumt uf seehufl, foobump fenodlump dlyd vuhh emha kcump ykeid aeic evm tofdcirduem. Qifd yf vo tut."

The Overlord King turned his attention back to the party of six, with a wave of his hand a zipper-like portal appeared behind them, one that had a powerful vacuum-like effect that began trying to suck them in.

"Dloco uf medlump sec aei loco." Roshuo told them. "Pe, codicm de aeic evm vecht, nybo dlo nefd es dlo duno aei lywo hosd ymt hoywo if yhemo."

The six of them sucked up off their feet and through the opening which quickly sealed itself once they were all through.

AN And with that another chapter is in the can and yeah, this was a long one, as such I'll try to keep this as short as possible.

So for this instalment we've returned to the Fate/Gaim story, this one being a follow up to the first Gaim chapter that I wrote back in 2022 which ended with Shirou, Rin, Kaitou, Illya, Saber and Archer getting trapped in the Helhiem forest, beginning with Shirou and Kaitou explaining the Helheim threat to the others before transitioning into them attempting to fight the Overlords.

As for the fight itself, yeah it was pretty one sided. I get that the Overlords overwhelmed a pair of Heroic Spirits might seem a little unrealistic, especially since in first chapter they were able to fend off Gilgamesh, then again this is supposed to be their first time encountering them so I have to make them a genuine threat. Plus no one going into this is at 100% so there's also that.

Besides I advise you to go look up all the powers and abilities that Roshou has access to, guy is seriously OP, it makes you wonder just how the heck Kouta and Kaitou were ever supposed to stand a chance against him.

Oh, and Takatora is revealed to be Caster's Master in this story rather than Kuzuki.

Some I am curious about is my inclusion of the Femushinmu language in this, I'd mentioned in a previous chapter that I found a website that translated things into the Femushinmu language as well as another for Groungi, sure I could have just had the three of them speak English and have Shirou and the others not understand what they're saying but not knowing what what is being said adds to the otherworldliness of them, an experience not dissimilar for many of us who watched Gaim when it was airing before fansubbers figured out what the Overlords were talking about.

There's probably more I could say but this chapter's long enough already so I'm gonna cut things off here.

Feel free to post a comment and tell me what you thought of this one, this is one of two pretty big chapters that I put a lot of work into and have been sitting on for a while so now so I've finally posting it I'm curious what you all thought of this one.

As for the other one, you'll just have to wait and see. Let's just say it a story I imagine a lot of you have been eager for.

This coming Sunday is Easter Sunday so I hope you all enjoy yourselves, even if you don't celebrate and just see it as an excuse to eat a bunch of chocolate, and I'll catch you all for the next one.

So till next time, peace out y'all.
