Chapter ?: Birth of a Special Compilation

Walking the path of Heaven, to Rule over Everything…

A deep frown etched itself into Shirou's face as he considered his options, trying to figure some way out of the predicament that he, Tohsaka and Saber found themselves in, sadly he was coming up blank.

Caster seemed to be holding all the cards right now. Share had them trapped inside of a Bounded Field of her creation, surrounded by her Familiars, worse still she was holding Fuji-Nee hostage.

Caster seemed to have done her research on him, she knew all about his traumatic past and his life with Kiritsugu, of course she'd made one mistake, she'd assumed that Kiritsugu had forced him into the life of a Mage when really it was the opposite.

That aside, Caster was offering him a deal, that he and Saber submit to and work alongside her and in exchange not only would she let Fuji-Nee go she claimed that she could summon the Holy Grail without further need for bloodshed and that she'd allow them to have their wishes granted.

Bullshit she could, he didn't believe her for a second. Even if she could do what she was claiming there was no way in hell he'd ever work with someone who'd have so little value for human life.

In the end there was only one real choice that he could make, only one that really mattered, but to do it he'd have to give up Saber, a powerful ally and who he'd need in order to win the Holy Grail War.

But on the other hand, if it meant saving Fuji-Nee, someone who'd been there for him for as long as he could recall, then it was really no choice at all.

"Alright, let's do this." He said before he began walking towards Caster.

"Shirou!" Saber cried out as her Master walked closer towards the enemy Servant.

"Emiya, what are you thinking?" Rin added, "There's no need for you to be so reckless."

"Don't try and stop me Tohsaka," Shirou replied sharply, "If this is the price of saving Fuji-Nee's life, then what's there to think about?"

Nothing more was said after that, not until Shirou found himself staring face to face with their captor.

"Good Boya" Caster told him, "I promise that I'll be a benevolent Mistress to you and Saber, simply obey me and your heart's desire will be fulfilled."

"Don't bother, we both know all this talk about the Grail is nothing but nonsense." Shirou said in a dismissive tone.

"You don't believe me then?" Caster replied.

"If you really had the power to summon the Holy Grail you'd have done it already. Even if you could, you don't need my cooperation to do it." Shirou retorted as he held his hand bearing his command Seals out toward her. "We both know that these are what you're really after."

Caster chuckled at this "My my, seems your more perspective than I gave you credit for." She said as she produced a dagger, its blade shaped like a lightning bolt and appeared to be made of a reflective purple metal. "I'll be taking those…along with your life."

Unwilling to stand back any longer Saber charged forward, knocking Shirou to the ground as she shot past him, slicing the air with her invisible blade as she attempted to cut down Caster only for the ancient Magus to fall back out if the way of her attempt.

"SABER," Shirou cried out as he watched as the sword wielding Servant moved in to close the gap between her and Caster.

No sooner had these words left his mouth, the brand on Shirou's hand glowed and a pulse as the effects of the pact formed between himself and Saber kicked in. "STOP!"

Just as the former King closed the distance between herself and Caster, all of a sudden Saber felt her body seize up, rendering herself unable to move.

Momentarily surprised by this sudden turn of events, a smirk appeared on Caster's lips as she recovered. Seeing her chance the Servant of the Spell lunged at the immobilized swordswoman, her blade at the ready.

"Your mine…" she cried out as she plunged the dagger into Saber's chest, moments later dark crackling energy radiated off her body, the former King letting out a loud agonizing cry as she stood there unable to do anything to resist.

At the same time Shirou felt a surge through his Magic Circuits, a feeling far worse then what he'd experienced every time he'd used his nerves to create artificial circuits, as if something inside of him was being forcefully torn away.

Just as quickly as it occurred it was all over, Saber dropping to the ground in front of Caster who burst out laughing, holding up her hand to reveal that a brand similar to the one that Shirou borne appeared as there added to her own.

"I've done it, I've done it." She announced triumphantly. "At last, Saber. Is mine."

Panting heavily, Shirou was overcome by a sudden emptiness, as if part of him had suddenly vanished. Glancing down at the back of his hand Shirou saw that his remaining Command Seals were gone, the pact that he'd made with Saber had been completely nullified.

"And you surprised? This is my Noble Phantasm, Rule Breaker, a mystical blade that has the power to sever and nullify any and all magics and its effects." Caster announced as she held her knife aloft, "As of this moment Saber and I have formed a pact, I am her Master now."

"N…no way," Rin exclaimed, shocked by what she'd just witnessed. "A Servant became a Master for another Servant?"

"Indeed, I have transformed Saber into my Familiar, she belongs to me now." Caster explained, sounding pleased with herself.

"Whatever, I've done what you asked, Saber is now yours," Shirou told the hooded Servant as he looked up at her from his position on the ground, pain straining his voice, "Now let Fuji-nee go."

From under her hood, Caster fixed her gaze upon the rust haired boy, a sly smile spreading itself across her lips before she suddenly burst out laughing. "Poor, foolish child," She managed to get out. "Now why would I do that?"

"Wha…what?" Shirou exclaimed, surprised by the magic using Servant's words. "I thought that we had a deal?"

"I'm known as the Witch of Betrayal Boya, are you truly foolish enough to expect me to keep my word?" Caster replied, her tone becoming serious. "No, I suspect that even without Saber you and that little girl there would still make trouble for me. The best course of action is for me to have you both eliminated here and now."

"Tsk, you underhanded witch…" Rin growled as she glared at Caster, "You never had any intention of letting us go."

"Saber, the bond between us is now solidified, I am your Master now." Caster told the blond swordswoman in a commanding tone, "My first order under our new contract is to kill both your former Master and that little girl over there."

Still gasping for breath, Saber raised her head to glare at her new Master. "Never," She said defiantly, "I will never willingly obey an order from the likes of you."

No sooner had she said this, Caster channelled a pulse of her Magical energies through her Command Seals a causing them to glow. moments later a sudden surge of pain through Saber's body like a wave, causing her to wince.

"Tsk, you're a stubborn one, seems like I'll have to house break you." Caster said sternly, "Saber, as long as I have these Command Seals you cannot defy me in either body nor soul."

All of a sudden Caster's Seals glowed again Saber was forcefully yanked to her feet, not dissimilar to a marionette on strings, before turning to face both Shirou and Rin, grasping her sword in both hands as assumed her combat stance.

"S…Shirou, Rin…" Saber told the pair, a desperate look on her face as her body moving against her will. "You need to run…"

Unable to stop herself, Saber lunged at her pair, her sword at the ready as she prepared to cut down two people who'd she sworn to protect.

CLOCK OVER!

Just as she was inches away from about them, all of a sudden Saber was suddenly knocked back by some invisible force while the same time off of the familiars that Caster had summoned suddenly exploded and were reduced back to puddles of water.

The noise of something clattering to the ground caught his attention, shifting his gaze towards the ground he found a ZECT Belt lying there at his feet.

"H…huh…" He muttered, his eyes widening, "That…that's…"

"Emiya," Rin's voice cried out, "Look over there…"

Hearing her words Shirou, Saber and Caster quickly looked over and standing there on top of the ruined crossbeam that protruded from the damaged section of the bridge stood Kabuto, in his arms he cradled the unconscious form of Fujimura Taiga.

"Kabuto…Fuji-nee…" Shirou exclaimed, his system awash in both shock at the armored figures sudden arrival as well as relief at seeing that his self imposed older sister figure safe.

"You…" Caster muttered, her face twisting itself into a scowl as she glared at Kabuto, recalling all the trouble that the beetle themed Rider had caused both herself and her beloved Kuzuki.

All of a sudden a glowing magic circle appeared in the air in front of Caster. "Die! She cried out as she fired a blast of magical energy at the red and silver beetle themed Rider.

Staring at the incoming magical attack, Kabuto quickly threw Taiga aside, tossing her towards Rin, as he reached down and tapped a plate on the side of his belt. "Clock up…"

CLOCK UP!

Just as Caster's magic attach was about to reach him, as it had done some many times before, the world around the red, silver and black slowed almost to a crawl. Stepping off of his perch Kabuto dropped to the ground, producing his Kunaigun in its Kunai Mode he walked towards Caster's position, pausing a moment to kick Saber aside, until he was standing right in front of her

CLOCK OVER!

All of a sudden time restarted, the beam of energy that Caster had fired finding nothing but empty air and vanishing as it sailed off towards the horizon while Rin reached out her arms to catch Taiga as she fell towards her, buckling under the older woman's weight as she tried to stay up right.

Meanwhile, Caster was shocked to find Kabuto standing right in front of her, taking a step back she attempted to stab at him with Rule Breaker only for it to be blocked by his Kunaigun while using his other hand to aim a punch at her, striking her in the cheek, the blow packing enough force to send her stumbling backwards.

Looming over the fallen Servant, Kabuto reached towards the Zecter attached to his belt, pressing one of the buttons located on the Zecter's legs.

1…2…3…

Grabbing the Zecter's horn, Kabuto pulled it closed. "Rider…Kick…" He muttered before pulling the horn open again.

RIDER KICK!

Electrical energy began radiating off of the horn that was mounted to the front of the Rider's helmet before it began moving downwards, traversing his entire body and gathering around his right foot.

Just as he was about deliver his finisher to the robed Servant a cry was heard as several of Caster's familiars appeared behind Kabuto, reaching out towards him with their skeletal arms outstretched.

Unphased by this Kabuto spun round, delivering a spinning roundhouse kick with his crackling foot, striking each of them and knocking them aside, their forms crackling before they exploded, splattering the ground with liquid.

Muttering a curse in her native tongue, Caster glared at the beetle themed Rider. "Saber!" She barked out.

Once more Saber's body moved without her consent, moving to engage her new target, slashing at Kabuto once she was close enough only for him to casually side step out of the way of her attempt.

A stern look on her face and her eyes narrowed as Saber stared at the armored clad man before her who in turn stared back at her. This man, even with all her experience and skill which had been further enhanced due to her status as a Heroic Spirit, Saber had never defeated Tendou Souji

Undeterred she attempted to slash at him again, this time attempting a horizontal slash at her armor clad opponent who once again easily avoid it by stepping out of the way, the lenses of the helmet fixed upon her as he raised his Kunaigun.

Seeing this Saber dropped back a short distance, expecting him to pursue. Only he didn't. Instead, his body assumed a more neutral stance before, slowly, he raised his arm and pointed a finger towards the sky.

"Obaa-chan said this: even in the lowest depth, a shimmer of light will appear before the desperate man." He said, offering another of his cryptic sayings, before turning his head slightly to glance towards Shirou, "I wonder, if you call out to him will he hear you, will he answer your call? Will he come to you in your time of most need?"

Shirou didn't reply, turning his gaze towards the belt that lay on the ground before him, despite his cryptic words he already knew what Kabuto was talking about the Gatack Zecter, recalling how he'd failed the last time he'd tried to obtain the stag beetle themed Zecter, would things really be any different this time?

He could no longer count on Saber now that he'd broken his pact with her and allowed her to be taken by Caster and even with Tohsaka backing him up he was no match for the ancient witch.

Steeling himself he grabbed a hold of the belt before picking himself up off of the ground and attached it around his waist. "Emiya," Rin said, "What are you doing?"

"COME TO ME," Shirou cried out, thrusting his slayed hand out towards the sky, "GATACK ZECTER!"

In a different part of the city, held within the secured cell located within a ZECT facility, the Gatack Zecter darted to and fro inside its containment unit when all of a sudden it came to a halt, as if altered by something.

Its horns clicking a few times the blue beetle themed devise darted forward towards the wall of its containment unit, slamming it to it at high velocity and punched through it, startling the ZECT personnel that had been stationed there, before making a break for freedom, leaving behind an azure streak as it shot across the city skyline towards Fuyuki Bridge.

From his position Archer was preparing to fire another arrow at the Bounded Field Caster had put up when a streak of blue shot past him at tremendous speed, ramming headlong into the magical barrier, seeming to be held in place for a moment, before punching through it.

A noise from above was here, catching the attention of everyone, before a streak of blue raced down from above, taking out several of Caster's familiars as it encircled the area before coming to a halt in front of Shirou, the Gatack Zecter hovering a few inches away from his face.

The frown on his face deepening, Shirou reached out and snatched it out of the air. "Henshin…" He announced as he slotted the beetle shaped device to the front of the belt that was wrapped around his waist.

HENSHIN!

All of a sudden dozens blue energy taking the form of hexagons patterns radiated outwards from the beetle shaped device, moving across Shirou's body, taking the form of a black bodysuit as well as bulky looking silver armor with blue details, a helmet with a red X-shaped visor, and two large cannons on his shoulders.

All of a sudden several more of Caster's Familiars spawned themselves from the various puddles of water that were dotted about the area, surrounded the newly christened Rider. Without a moment's hesitation Gatack opened fire, launching several powerful blasts from his shoulder cannons that obliterating them.

With the imitate threat taken care of, Gatack turned to face down both Caster and Saber, both of whom stared back at him.

"Hmm, don't go getting a big head Emiya Shirou, even with that little toy don't go thinking that anything's changed." The hooded Servant told him. "Without Saber, what can someone like you possibly hope to achieve?"

"You're wrong Caster. You assumed that Kiritsugu forced me into the life of Magus, you couldn't be more wrong, I chose to walk that path myself." He told her, his voice filled with determination, "Just like you assumed that I need Saber to be a pain in the ass for you. I'll end this pointless war and to do it I'll defeat anyone who gets in my way."

As he said this, he reaching down towards the horns of the Gatack Zecter and parted them, electricity crackling over his body as the bulky armor parted slightly. "Cast off…" He announced before pulling the horns back.

CAST OFF!

All of a sudden the armor pieces exploded off of Gatack's body, launching themselves towards Caster and Saber, in the blink of an eye without a moment's hesitation Caster threw up a barrier on front of herself and her new acquisition, the pieces bouncing off of it and settling on the ground.

Free from the bulky armor of his masked form, Gatack stood there now clad in chest and shoulder armor, a curved sword attached to each of his shoulders, their design similar to that of a horn of a stag beetle, and the helmet that covered his head sporting a pair of serrated horns that folded up from his shoulders to complete the look.

CHANGE STAG BEETLE!

No sooner had he shifted to his Rider form, Gatack lunged towards Caster, grabbing a hold of the twin blades attached to his shoulders pad and detached them as he ran, preparing to use his new blades to cut her down.

Knowing that she had no choice, Saber stepped in front of her new Master, blade at the ready to intercept any attempt the blue stag beetle Rider might attempt on the ancient spellcaster. Seeing this, Gatack skidded to a halt, raising both of his Gatack Double Caliburs as he and the blond haired swordswoman prepared to engage one another.

Standing across from one another Gatack and Saber stared the other down, both of them waiting to see which of them would make the first move. As she did so Saber couldn't help but notice that his stance was the same one that she'd seen Archer assume in battle.

"Saber, what are you waiting for?" Caster said sharply, "I'm ordering you to cut down your former Master."

Once again compelled by her new Master's command, Saber lunged at Gatack, clutching her sword as she prepared to deliver a powerful slash at her opponent. Seeing this, Gatack also dashed forward to meet her, his horn like blades held out at his side as he moved closer.

in the blink of an eye the two of them met, Gatack attempting a slash at Saber quickly following it up with another at Saber, the former King dodging the first the first before using her sword to block the second.

Undeterred, Gatack did his best to press forward, aiming slash after slash at Saber, all of which she able to parry with minimal effort. Even with the power granted to him by his newly acquired Zecter, the gap between the two of them was just much too wide for him to close.

Despite her best, albeit brief, efforts, Saber attempts to teach Shirou her style of fighting had been ultimately fruitless, for some unknown reason it had never clicked with him, as if he was seemingly incapable of picking it up.

But now, as they were fighting, she couldn't help but notice, first with his combat stance and now with the way he was fighting and the way he wielded his new twin blades, it didn't just resemble the Archer's, it was practically a perfect recreation to how the Servant in the redd coat fought.

Even so, even if he had found a style of fighting that worked for him, Shirou still lacked both the level of skill and experience that both she and Archer possessed in order to fight on a level that matched a Heroic Spirit in battle.

Raising her sword, she intercepted another of the stag beetle themed Rider's attempts, throwing her full weight behind her sword to knock him of balance and send him stumbling backwards a short distance before he managed to catch himself.

Seeing an opening, Saber lunged at Gatack, the sword held out at her sider as she moved forward. 'Shirou, I'm sorry…' She thought before she unleashed a horizontal slash at him, the blade cleaving the air as it aimed itself towards it target.

Gatack had barely recovered from being knocked back when he saw Saber charge at him, knowing that he'd never avoid her in time, he slapped the Slap Switch located at the right side of his belt. "Clock up…"

CLOCK UP!

In an instant time suddenly slowed, Saber's movement slowing to the point where she was virtually standing still. Knowing that this was his only chance, Gatack flipping over his Gatack Double Calibers over before bringing them together, combining them to create a scissor like weapon, electricity from his Zecter crackling along it.

RIDER CUTTING!

"I'm sorry…Saber…" With a cry Gatack lunged at Saber, ducking under her attempt to slash at him, and using his combined weapon to catch her by her waist, clamped down on her as hard as he could, the crackling energy that coated his twin blades passing onto Saber.

He saw Kabuto standing behind Saber, the red beetle Rider Watching this, Kabuto once again pressed the buttons on his Zecter before flipping its horn into its closed position.

1... 2... 3...

Pulling back and returning his twin blades to their on posted his shoulders, Gatack then reached and pressed a button located on his Zecter before pulling its the horns into its closed position.

1…2…3…

"Rider…Kick…"/"Rider Kick…" Both of the announced, both of them pull the horns of their respective Zecters into their open positions, crackling energy emanating from their devises that travelled up and gathered along the horns of their respective helmets

RIDER KICK!/RIDER KICK!

With a cry Gatack charged towards Saber before jumping into the air, the crackling energy traveling downward and gathering around his foot and unleashing a flying roundhouse kick at the blond haired Servant.

CLOCK OVER!

All of a sudden the flow of time returned to normal, Saber barely having time to readjust herself when she was struck by Gatack's crackling foot, the force of the blow knocking her back towards Kabuto who delivered his own attack, spinning round and delivering a roundhouse kick to her, the force of both Rider's finishing moves sending her flying, all the while her body crackled with electrical energy, before hitting the ground where she was consumed in a large explosion.

From her position Caster watched as the explosion that had engulfed Saber quickly died away, the her new Servant lay sprawled across the ground, her breastplate was now missing and hair was a mess and gasping for breath.

"Damnit," She snarled, a snarl spreading itself across her lips, "Must I do everything myself?"

All of a sudden part of the ceiling shattered in a manner not dissimilar to breaking glass as Archer descended from above, knocking an arrow into his bow, pulled back the string and opened fire, the arrow breaking off into multiple red glowing projectiles, some of which made quick work of the Familiars that spawned while others made a honed into toward Caster.

Muttering a curse the spell using Servant as the half a dozen red bolts racing towards her, Caster quickly took top the air, throwing up multiple barriers in an attempt to evade the projectiles that were chasing after her while Archer landed in front of Rin.

"Archer!" Rin exclaimed as she addressed the man standing before her, "Your late."

"Apologise, it took me quite a while to break through Caster's Bounced Field." The red clad bowman replied before he knocked a new arrow into his bow and pulled back the string, taking aim at the space located at the entrance of the bridge, "However, from inside…"

Letting go, the arrow tore through the air before all of a sudden it punched straight through a barrier invisible to the naked eye, if breaking through a pane of glass, a view of an undamaged bridge as well as the city's skyline visible on the other side.

"Archer, taking care of Fujimaru-Sensei." The Tohsaka heiress ordered him before turning her gaze towards the pair of Riders, "Emiya, Tendou, we're leaving."

Hearing this, Gatack turned to look in Rin's direction, watching as Archer scooped Taiga into his arms before following after Rin who was already on the move.

"There's nothing more you can do right now," He heard Kabuto address him, looking over to finding him walking briskly towards the opening Archer had created, "Let's go."

"Damn…" Gatack grunted in frustration, with one last look at the rather worse for wear looking Servant who'd just given up, finding her staring back at him, unable to tell if the water on her face were tears or due to the results of rain that was pouring in from the opening above, before he turned on his heel and followed after both Kabuto, Rin and Archer as they made for the opening that the tanned skinned Servant had made.

As the quartet departed Caster reappearing, watching as they disappeared from view, a smirk spreading itself across her face. While not everything had gone exactly to plan, she had emerged from this encounter victorious.

Saber, the strongest Servant, was now under her command a long with the residence of the wars arbiter and everything contained within it was now hers. Victory in this Grail War was within her grasp.

The battle over Caster dismissed the Bounded Field that covered the area vanished, the wrecked and devastated landscape blinking out of existence, replaced by a present albeit wet evening. With nothing left to do, Caster and Saber turned to leave, dark energy engulfing both of them as they vanished from view.

AN And with that another chapter is in the bag. Not only that but it's my birthday today so to celebrate consider this chapter a gift from me to all of you who take the time out of your day to read this. So to celebrate me being one year closer to death here's the first proper chapter based on Kamen Rider Kabuto.

So yeah, the premise of this one is based on the part of the UBW route where Shirou, Rin and Saber are captured by Caster whose holding Taiga hostage in an effort to try and lure Shirou and Saber to her side only for Shirou sacrifices Saber to Caster, only this time around Shirou loses Saber but gains the Gatak Zecter is exchange. So yeah, this is the second time in one of these tales where Shirou is the secondary Rider instead of being the title character. That being said I do hold the right to having Shirou become Kabuto later on, much like what happened with Kagami during the Kabuto tribute in Zi-O.

Also in case you missed it, Caster has a strong dislike of Kabuto as he's been making trouble for her and her Master Kuzuki as prior to this he would have been revealed to be a Worm.

Since this ones so straight forward there's really not much to talk about I guess I'll wrap things up here. I could talk about the debut of Rainbow Gotchard to pad things out buuuuut I haven't seen it or the newest Boonboomger episode yet, the place I usually watch this stuff hasn't uploaded the newest episodes yet. Still we're 38 episodes into Gotchard, yeah, we're there already, which means this shows final arc will be beginning pretty soon plus Boon Violet will debuting this month.

As always leave a review and tell me your thoughts on this one and, if you wish to, drop me a birthday message and I'll catch you all soon for the next chapter.

Until next time, peace out y'all.
