Spider-Man & The X-Men: Dreams & Nightmares
Author's Note: HOLY CRAP! DID YOU GUYS SEE EPISODE 5 OF X-MEN '97 YET?! I AM IN SHAMBLES! Okay, sorry for all the caps, but seriously, watch it as soon as possible if you haven't seen it yet. Moving on, now it's time to reply to some reviews.
CRUDEN: I've definitely been thinking about the Spidey and X-Men Evolution fic! I just gotta think some more, lol.
Warmachine324: Thank you for leaving a review! And good news, the next chapter is here!
Spiderhyphenman: Haha, trust me, I've been coming up with a lot of plot ideas for a possible Spidey and X-Men Evolution fic. And thank you for the kind words!
NeoTyson: Yeah man, a goal of mine is to update this fic every week, and the funny thing is I already messed up since I didn't update it last week, lol. I'm trying, though! And yeah, the Peter, Rogue, and Gambit situation is something that'll definitely be explored more in this story. As for Logan and Jean… even I don't know what's going to happen! You're also not the only person who wants the Spidey/X-Men Evolution crossover. With how much support I'm getting on the idea, I'll be forced to actually do something about it! Haha.
Ogs82306: Another lovely person that wants the crossover! All I gotta say is stay tuned! Lol.
My Little Demigodly Brain: I'm glad you're loving the story! And rest assured, the Ben 10 update is coming soon. It's been on my bucket list, because I know a lot of people have been waiting on me to update it.
Alright, that seems to be all of the reviews. To all my readers, make sure to leave a review, and I'll reply to it in the next chapter. Let's get this party started!

Morning Time
BGM: Spider-Man 2002 OST - Alone
If there was a person that could literally be defined as a ball of confusion, it would be no one other than Peter Parker, and the latest person to hear about his struggles is Jean Grey. Last night, Peter explained the entire Mary Jane situation to her. Wanting to help him however she could, Jean scheduled a time for both of them to meet up. She was going to use Cerebro to try and find MJ, even though it might prove to be futile. Cerebro can only track down mutants, and Peter has already told Jean that MJ isn't a mutant. At least, to his knowledge, MJ isn't a mutant.
However, given the fact that there might be a possibility of MJ being a mutant, no matter how unlikely of a possibility it is, Jean figured she would still give it a shot. Peter stood in silence as he watched Jean do her best, but after a while, she stopped using her powers. Taking the helmet off, she stood up and looked directly at Peter, forming a sad expression on her face. "I'm… I'm sorry, Peter." Jean managed to say, clearly not wanting to tell him this news. "I couldn't find Mary Jane."
Peter knew it was a long shot, considering MJ had to be a mutant for this whole thing to be successful in the first place. Even so, he couldn't help but to be disappointed. Not in Jean, of course, but the situation as a whole. "You tried your best, Jean. That's all I could ask for, and I thank you for that." Peter told her, trying to find the silver lining in all of this. "Maybe… Maybe MJ really is gone forever."
Jean had a disagreeing nod. "No, don't lose hope! I'm sure she's out there somewhere." Obviously, she was trying to be encouraging. "You'll find her." she said, but then she wanted to change her statement. "We'll find her." she assured him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I promise you, Peter, I'll do whatever I can to make sure we find her."
By her tone, Jean definitely meant what she said, and it caught Peter's attention. To be honest, he wasn't really sure how to respond. Oddly enough, Jean's determination was making Peter believe that MJ really was still out there, wherever she may be at this particular moment in time.
"You said the last time you saw her was at the George Washington Bridge, right?" Jean asked, as Peter would only give a confirming nod as his response. "Let's try to look for clues over there. We can even take the Blackbird."
"DID SOMEBODY SAY BLACKBIRD?!"
Peter and Jean recognized this voice instantly. But in Jean's case, it caused her eyes to widen out of fear.
"Oh no!" she exclaimed, preparing herself for the absolute worst.
BGM: Persona 5 – My Homie
"OH YEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" This voice belonged to no one other than Deadpool, who was still at the X-Mansion for some reason. Busting through the doors like the Kool-Aid Man, Deadpool randomly showed up like an excited child. "Are we takin' the Blackbird?! Oh, I always wanted to fly the Blackbird! If you guys need a pilot, then I'm your man!" he shouted, pointing confidently at himself with his thumb.
"Is there a scenario where he's the pilot and we don't end up dying?" Peter joked, looking at Jean as he said this.
This caused the redhead to laugh a little bit. "Nope."
"Hey, I heard that!" Deadpool yelled. Then, a smirk would form under his mask. "Also, that's not the only thing I heard either!" Exaggeratingly, Deadpool pointed right at Jean who still had her hand on Peter's shoulder. "Jean, you naughty girl! You find yourself being alone with Peter for just a FEW moments and you're already putting your trifling, scandalous hands on him!"
Hearing this, Jean was visibly growing more annoyed. "I'm a married woman, Deadpool!"
"That doesn't mean nothin'!" Deadpool replied, wanting to refute the redhead's statement, and then began to break the 4th wall. He was now speaking to the lovely readers who were reading this story. "Take this advice from me, my readers. If you like somebody, but if that person happens to be in a relationship, then it can be defined like this. Just because there's a goalie, it doesn't mean you can't score!"
"Deadpool, that is horrible advice!" Peter shouted at the top of his lungs. "Also, who the heck are you talking to?!"
"Don't worry 'bout it!" responded Deadpool. Maybe there'll be a day when he teaches Peter the ways of breaking the 4th wall, but currently, the Spider-themed superhero isn't ready to learn such power yet. "Anyway… if I can't pilot the Blackbird, then the least you guys could do is let me join ya on this mission."
Peter and Jean remained silent at Deadpool's request, causing the merc with a mouth to clasp his hands together. "Please?" No response. "Pretty please?" Still no response. "Pretty please with a cherry on top?"
"Okay, okay, you can come with us." said Peter, mainly wanting Deadpool to shut up. This made the merc pump his fists in sweet victory.
"Yes!" Deadpool clearly approved of this decision.
"But please don't blow anything up." Jean added, and once Deadpool heard this, he started waving his index finger.
"Aht! Aht! No promises."
BGM: Wolverine and The X-Men Theme Song
Some time would pass, but during this time, Peter, Jean, and Deadpool got ready for the trip to the George Washington Bridge. They were beginning to inform the other X-Men about the search mission, and naturally, they wanted to help. Not everyone could go, though, because some of them must stay behind to protect not only the X-Mansion, but Aunt May too. Charles, Beast, Storm, and Jubilee were tasked with this assignment, while Rogue, Gambit, Wolverine, and Cyclops were joining the trio of Peter, Jean, and Deadpool. Surely, no type of drama will happen whatsoever with two love triangles being on board, right? Right?
Once they were on the Blackbird, Deadpool ran to the pilot's seat, but Wolverine quickly grabbed his arm and perfectly threw him right into a seat in the back. "No." Wolverine let his opinion be known on Deadpool being the pilot.
"Oh, come on!" Deadpool shouted, not enjoying being thrown like that.
"For once, I agree with Wolverine. There's no way I would let you pilot the Blackbird." Cyclops added, as Wolverine would cross his arms while proceeding to speak in a disgusted tone.
"The one and only time we'll agree on anything, Summers."
Rogue wanted to break this up before anything got started. "All right, y'all, come on now. We're all family here, and we're all here to help Peter, right?"
Gambit rolled his eyes at the whole helping Peter part. "Speak for yourself, Chere." he said, and it made Rogue frown. Gambit was mainly here because he wanted to make sure that Peter wouldn't make any moves on Rogue.
Jean let out a loud sigh, and eventually, she would turn to Spider-Man. "Well, this is already going great, isn't it?" Her words had obvious sarcasm.
Spidey pinched the bridge of his nose, showing some frustration. "Yeah, this is nothing but a soap opera-" As Spidey was speaking, he suddenly stopped. He felt a sharp pain in his stomach, and instinctively, his hand clutched on to it. This caught the attention of the rest of the X-Men, especially Rogue.
"You doin' alright, sugah?" she asked, concern being in her voice.
Spidey wanted to assure not only Rogue, but the rest of the X-Men that he was fine, even if he was indeed not fine. "What was that?" Spidey thought to himself, still feeling this pain, but he would try his best to ignore it. He would give Rogue a thumbs up, telling her, "I'm fine. Must've been something I ate, I guess."
Much like Rogue, Jean was showing some worry for Spidey too. "Do you feel good enough to go on this mission?"
As Spidey was about to reply to Jean, Cyclops would then give his opinion. "If you're not feeling well, don't push yourself too hard. It's important to-"
Before Cyclops could finish, Spidey cut him off.
"Guys, I appreciate the concern, but like I already said, I'm totally fine."
LIES.

And as Peter tried to keep telling them he was okay, he had all the other X-Men's attention. Well… almost all the other X-Men's attention. Seeing this as the perfect opportunity, Deadpool rushed to the controls of the Blackbird while everybody else was focused on Peter. Deadpool's eyes got really big due to seeing all the buttons he could press, but there was one button that stood out to him.
A big red button.
"Ooh, what does this button do?!"
Spidey and the rest of the X-Men saw what Deadpool was about to do, and now, they were all fearful for what's about to happen. "DEADPOOL, NO!" they all screamed in unison, but it didn't matter. Nobody could stop the madman known as Deadpool.
"DEADPOOL, YES!" he replied, proceeding to slam his fist down on the big red button. And at a moment's notice, the Blackbird took off at blistering speeds, letting everyone inside be at the absolute mercy of gravity.
"GAMBIT THINKS YOU'RE CRAZY! CRAZY, YA HEAR ME?!" shouted Gambit, meaning every word he said to Deadpool. What followed afterwards were screams from everyone else. They'd rather fight 100 Sentinels right now.
Down below, Charles, Storm, Jubilee, Beast, and Aunt May were watching the out-of-control Blackbird fly in the sky. It was quite the sight, to say the least. "Professor, are you sure letting that group work as a team is a good idea?" inquired Storm, wondering if this was the wrong move.
"Yeah, they might kill themselves before they ever reach the bridge!" exclaimed Jubilee.
Even while staring at a potential disaster, Charles still has faith in the Blackbird group. "If they wish to work effectively as a team, then this is a necessary step they have to take." Charles said, hoping the drama could hopefully bring them together.
"I sure hope you're right," Aunt May spoke, as she felt like she was getting nauseous from just looking at the Blackbird flying all over the place.
"It's best if they learn how to work together now instead of later," Beast pointed out. "A wise man once said that the secret of getting ahead is getting started."
Storm looked over at Beast and showed a small smile. "Mark Twain?"
Beast gave a confirming nod at Storm's question, having a smile of his own. "Indeed."
