Before long, both had caught up to find Relon and Dawn in the cafeteria. According to Eve, translated by Anabel, they had taken a turn upon entering the facility.

Had the protagonist and his starter not and kept straight, they'd have run straight into the largest room where no doubt dozens of the now petrified Team Chaos grunts were once situated. Only Arceus could bless such luck.

As the psychic duo grew closer, the sight of a crowd being formed became more and more visible.

"What's going-" Caught off to see Relon alongside Dawn and his pokémon facing Absol once more.

"You're an even bigger fool than I gave you credit for! To do something like that after we all just got free. Now you want to risk all of our safety?! For shit's sake, we still haven't fully recovered! Get that through your thick skull!"

"Absol, if you think I'm going to sit around and do nothing, then you're sorely mistaken!" Relon retorts.

"What's going on here?" At once, the countless eyes from the spectators as well as the centers of attention turned to Sabrina and Anabel.

"Tch, of course his bodyguards wouldn't be far behind. You deal with him then." Absol scoffs, walking off once more for Sabrina to momentarily dismiss the pokégirl. "Relon, what's going on?"

"I want to release that scientist's pokémon." It was a calm but steady answer, as though he knew of the weight such a request held. Such a statement understandably earned murmurs in worry.

"Where do you plan to release them then? Certainly not in this facility, the only shelter we have."

"No, I don't," he answers, cutting his eyes to Absol's departing form. "I'm going outside where Yveltal is." That earned a chorus of sounds all around. "I'm perfectly safe doing this. I have my partner, Eve, Zorua, and a legendary pokémon by my side."

"Why?" Surprisingly, that single worded question emanated not from Sabrina but rather Dawn. "Why go to such lengths for pokémon that attempted to not only harm you, but have followed under the orders of a mad scientist for so long?" Her question was straight to the point. Even as they stood shoulder to shoulder eyeing the other, her kind and endearing smile never wavered. Perhaps that was the cause why Relon mirrored it.

"I heard how those pokémon were treated. Yveltal mentioned Charizard being forced to mega evolve in an unnatural way. Just like everyone here, if those pokémon have suffered then they also deserve a second chance. I have the ability to communicate with pokémon so I want to hear it from their mouths myself!"

The determination on his face told everyone he was adamant about this. Sabrina's own expression showed genuine awe as did Anabel at his words. Dawn herself knew Relon was willing. She simply wanted to help him be seen in a more positive view.

It went without saying that being in this facility for so long, she's heard the views of men turn on a dime. Whether Relon realized it or not, he was the only male here. That sick, perverted, scientist ended the lives of all male captives.

Many here feared the opposite gender now and likely would for their lives if nothing were to change. Then Relon came and saved them, instilling an inkling of hope into every single damsel once in distress. Relon, at this moment, was the only one capable of fending off Team Chaos and it wouldn't be long before more showed up here.

The opinions of everyone here needed to side with him, Sabrina realized this after regaining their freedom the previous night. Just as the civilians and Pokémon League once feared her for both her psychic abilities as well as the idea of possibly being under the influence of the evil organization Team Rocket, she now needed Relon's reputation, however small, to be sturdy.

Absol, whether she realized it or not, was tarnishing his new view as a hero to the victims. Anabel could guess that Dawn had to shut that down by pushing Absol out as the opposition in this discussion and making herself that role.

One thing all three young women knew for certain; Relon was the beacon that would illuminate their dark path.

"Then I'm going with you." Dawn said with clearly no room for arguments.

"You can include me as well," Sabrina jumped in.

Then I shall also accompany you. The voice of Anabel spoke in his head.

"Huh?" It was the only sound Relon could manage out through his shock.

"I've been here for a long time so I'm sure everyone will feel at ease if I go, right everyone?" Dawn calls out for hesitant nods to answer. "Then that settles that," she smiles.

"But…" Dismissing any room for another argument, his eyes move to Sabrina. "You too?"

"Need I state my own reasoning?" He allowed his stunned form to ease back into his casual grin.

"No, I suppose not." Then he looked to Anabel.

You don't have to come, you know. He thought.

I know. But I want to.

He couldn't win against any of the three's cases. All he could do was accept what was happening and move on.

"Alright, you three win." He relents to earn cheery smiles from Dawn and Anabel and a satisfied nod from Sabrina. "Can I eat now?"

"Teehee, you just sit there and leave that to me," Dawn winks. "Girls, get our savior a plate on the double!" Before he can argue, she's off alongside a few into the kitchen.

"Dawn, wait…! Damn it," he sighs as Anabel and Sabrina take seats to both sides of him as Eve and Zorua hop on the table.

"Wow, Relon, you save a bunch of girls and now you have a harem. Gardevoir would be so jealous~." Eve grins.

"H-Hey! Don't put that idea in my head, Eve! Gardevoir and I aren't like that!" He exclaims with a blush although the amused smirk Eve sports doesn't waver.

Teehee, your umbreon has quite the attitude I must say. I wonder who she got it from?

Silently, he deadpans her way as the pokémon and Anabel all laugh to his chagrin.

"I'm curious," Sabrina says, gaining his attention. "Absol is indeed the same one from our 'past,' but is this umbreon as well?"

"Erm… kinda? My late mom made a really intricate pokémon game that I've been basically living in as I journeyed throughout the regions. My starter was Eve here," he gestures to the umbreon who raises her head in pride. "When I came to, there was the custom pokéball I gave to her in the game. Out came Eve, and I can only assume my other pokémon from my game are now out there somewhere."

"So that's how you were confident in our earlier encounter against Team Chaos," Sabrina realizes for him to nod.

"We're back!"

Head lifting to see Dawn approach, his voice hitches as she approaches sporting that bright smile and steaming plate.

"Oh, thanks Daaaaaaawn?" Tilting his head as does Eve, both keep going to find a trail of girls copying Dawn with plates of their own.

"Yeah, you definite isekai'd and got your own harem," Eve states nonchalantly.

"Dig in! We've got plenty!" Dawn beams her usual smile as the girls around her bow slightly.

"Whoa!" Zorua gleams. "Hey, Relon, can I have some!"

Well, time to see how hungry someone was after dying.

Later

"I… think… I'm…" Stifling a belch, Relon exudes a breath of air. "Full."

Following the large meal, Relon alongside the girl and pokémon set out.

"I'm more impressed that you managed to eat all of it, Relon." Eve awes.

"I'm mad he didn't share!" Zorua pouts to earn a deadpanned look from Eve.

"When a girl makes something for a guy, the last thing that needs to happen is someone taking it."

"Why is that?"

"Because that's simply how it is unless you want to make the girl upset or worse, put Relon in a situation he can't properly deal with."

"So… girls are just weird?" Zorua wonders to meet the ground thanks to a flick of Eve's tail.

"Ouch! Hey!"

"Hmpf!"

Shaking his head from the pokémon's antics, his attention returns to their short trek through the woods.

"To end up in an unfortunate situation that allowed you to use an eevee, a pokémon that you're knowledgeable of using, quite the coincidence." Sabrina

"Yeah. Lucky coincidence I guess. Still, Eve became an umbreon because of Yveltal's power. What I'm thinking happened is that when we came to here in this world, that previous eevee and Eve merged. Specifically that eevee's ability to change into its various eeveelutions. So now, Eve here can do the same thing except she has to be exposed to powerful pokémon of a specific type. That and she hasn't turned back because so much of Yveltal's power went into her."

"So then she has to dispense the remaining amount until she has better control."

"Eve sure is powerful to be able to contain a legendary's power," Dawn notes.

"Well… she has fought legendaries and champions before so she's arguably up there." He said with hesitancy, eyes looking out the corner to Sabrina whose demeanor remains neutral. "As hard as that may be to believe," he scratches his head bashfully.

"Wow… You two have been through a lot, huh?"

"Six proud years together, that's for sure." He smiles at the fond memories.

"What other pokémon do you have then? I mean, that you'll be looking for." That earned the curious looks from everyone except Eve.

Stopping for a moment to think, the others do as well taking in the forest life. Pokemon of various types were minding their business or observing them with curiosity.

"Eve was my starter, then I met Absol. Though my absol couldn't become a human."

"Ah, that's a good point to make," Dawn chuckles as does Anabel. "That's two…"

"I have Emboar and Gardevoir. Those two have been stuck at the hip since they were just a Tepig and Ralts. Delcatty is the mother of the group who always looks out for everyone, Eve and I especially. Flygon is always taking Eve on rides in the air while Milotic takes to the water. Kingdra has always been the vigilant one whenever we relax but eager whenever a battle would occur, he'd only relax when there was a lot of water nearby."

"Let's see… Emboar and Gardevoir make four. Delcatty is five, Flygon six. Milotic and Kingdra equals eight." Dawn counts off.

"Don't forget Yveltal, Relon." Eve reminds.

"Oh yeah, Yveltal makes nine then."

"What about me?" Blinking to look down at the smiling Zorua, Relon then moves his gaze to Eve who mirrors his own before going to the small fox.

"Zorua, do you want to be Relon's pokémon?" Eve asks.

"Of course! Helping you guys fight the bad guys was awesome! Those meanies deserved it for everything they've done to your harem! Whatever a harem means! Hey, Eve, what does a harem mean?"

"It's another word for family, Zorua." Eve smiles, forcing back the urge to ruin the dark-type's innocence.

Feeling a subtle elbow, Relon's eyes cut to a smiling Anabel.

I swear I'm innocent.

Teehee, I know.

"Then I guess Zorua now makes 10."

"YES!" The fox jumps.

"Whoa there!" Relon exclaims catching the kit. "Happy to have you aboard but take it easy," he chides ruffling Zorua's red tuft.

"Congrats!" Dawn cheers, clasping her hands.

"Once everything calms down and we have pokéballs, I can properly catch you. Sound good?"

"Yup yup!" He nods cheerfully.

"Another dark-type I see." Looking up, all see a nestled Yveltal.

"Yveltal, good morning." Relon greets. "And yeah, given this guy fought with us before we ended up here, may as well."

"Then another whom shall be capable of exuding our power."

"Huh?"

"I take it Yveltal is talking?" Dawn asks.

"Oh, yeah, sorry. Zorua can apparently use Yveltal's power like Eve and myself."

"Absol too. Given she did it last night and earlier," Dawn grumbles.

"So dark-types in relation to yourself and Yveltal can release your powers to further amplify their own strength." Sabrina surmises.

"Speaking of, that scientist mentioned I was a 'hybrid.' What exactly is that?"

"Someone with the connection to a pokémon be that of something as simple as a magikarp to as grand as Arceus themself," Dawn quotes. "You've become a human capable of using pokémon abilities and moves. That is what a hybrid is. That is what Team Chaos has been abducting people all these years for. That's… what they've been doing to me and the others."

"To create an army hellbent on world domination. Humans strong enough that even the strongest of trainers and pokémon cannot hope to defeat them. You've seen their technology. A false mega-evolution is already in their hands, harming their pokémon through forced evolution." Sabrina scowls.

For a moment, there was silence. As though their words were being processed, only to lag. Either that or his mind simply repeated the revelation.

"Yveltal." His distorted voice seemingly came from nowhere. Unlike before, there was no sense of power exuding from him. "Let me see their pokéballs." One glance at his balled fist shaking slightly told he was holding back another burst of anger. "I've never been mad so much, so deeply. I hate this… This anger. So…" Walking to where Yveltal sat, he finds a batch of six pokéballs.

Without warning, he tosses them all.

"Relon?!"

In a burst of light, they manifested. Corviknight, Dusknoir, Braviary, Pangoro, Cryogonal, and Charizard all didn't bother to observe their surroundings as their eyes took in the humans and pokémon. Immediately, they recoiled from the presence of the legendary as well as the human and pokémon that bodied them.

"Eyes on me," he ordered, the fearful hesitancy from the pokémon evident in their body language and expressions. He was reeling it back, his emotions. Just as he had towards the end of their battle, he was holding it back as best he could. Yet, it was slipping. The more he thought of the girls, all the kind people back in the facility being abused, the more he wanted to snuff out another grunt's life.

"You…" Corviknight spoke up. "Is it true? Is Dr. Gero dead?"

"Yeah and honestly, I'm glad he is." Relon's wide eyes never waned, deep vermilion bore into the metallic avian as the confirmation shocked the pokémon. "Because he is, you're all free." That gained the attention of both sides.

"Relon, what are you-" Silenced by a hand belonging to the male, Sabrina furrowed her brows but relented.

"Surely you don't mean that… do you?" Cryogonal wonders wearily.

Silently, he drops the balls to bounce off the ground to go still. Without warning, he stomps the first, embedding his foot into the dirt. One by one, static crunches sound until one pokéball remains.

"Yours?" Relon asks Charizard who slowly nods. "Good."

Stomp.

It breaks.

"As I said, you're all free. Simple as that."

"Human, what is your motive?" Corviknight questions. "Why do such a thing?"

"Motive?" He wonders. "Tell me, who here actually cared for that waste of human space?" At the question, none step forward. "My point exactly. You're free. No longer shackled by evil experimentation or whatever else he forced you to do."

"What if we choose to go back to Team Chaos?" Pangoro questions, not earning Relon's focus.

"Then you may experience a fate worse than death." He reveals which makes the bear flinch. "Any who claim allegiance to an organization like Team Chaos will face our full wrath. All lives matter, humans and pokémon. To ignore that sacred rule, they've discarded their humanity."

"And you ask nothing in return? Truly?" Dusknoir wonders in a deep voice.

"If anything, I only ask where the next base Team Chaos has is."

"Freedom…" Braviary mumbles. "I can go home!"

"I can return to a colder place…" Cryogonal says in realization. "I don't have to be in a furnace anymore!"

"I can live in peace like I wanted." Pangoro comments. "That'd be nice."

"Then do it. Live how you see fit. Just don't hurt others. Help them instead." Relon smiles. "Not all people are bad. Same goes for pokémon. Just gotta find them is all."

Looking to their savior, all three exchange looks before they nod. Without hesitation, Braviary and Cryogonal took to the skies as Pangoro walked away, vanishing into the forest.

"What about you three? You're free."

"I am loyal to whom I deem worthy. Freedom is irrelevant." Corviknight explains. "You… are one I shall follow. Team Chaos shall pay for their transgressions. Against your kind and my own."

That left Relon taken aback. On one hand, he would welcome the addition. On the other hand, he didn't want Corviknight to feel obligated to follow him.

"Are you sure?"

"Any change in setting would obliterate Team Chaos in comparison. I see no better option if you shall allow myself."

"Dusknoir? You're still here."

"I… regret my actions. So… so many crimes I've committed." Relon could hear the agony, the remorse in its unsteady tone. "I do not deserve another chance, hell would be my rightful place."

"Yet you cling on to that sliver of hope for a better life," Yveltal says. "Claim it, cherish it, do whatever you must to ensure it does not slip away."

"Yveltal…" Relon murmurs to return his focus on the ghost-type. "If you're willing, then so am I."

Clasping it hands in thanks, it nods in respect. "Thank you," it says.

With a hum, his focus goes to the final pokémon. Parting to allow Relon through, he carefully approached. Only then did he realize the small wounds that adorned Charizard's skin. A scar-like line encircled the base of its neck, likely where the weird device that allowed it to mega-evolve once lied.

Despite it all, he saw how small and fearful the fire-type was. Its wings were folded, its hands held as close to itself as if to put space between himself and Relon. Yet, it didn't move as if in conflict.

"You've had it bad too, haven't you Charizard?" Relon whispered. Extending out a hand carefully, it jerked back as did he. With a steady resolve, he moved forward. Only a slight brush against its snout. Then a finger and finally his palm laid atop its nose. "Good boy," Relon smiles, giving a gentle rub. "Want to join the family too? Promise you'll get the love you deserve." It was all that he needed as the large pokémon released its emotions. With a tender smile, he embraced the crying starter pokémon. "Hey, you two as well! Group hug!" Without waiting, he felt the cool metallic feathers hug one side as the round warm embrace him from the other.

"Hey, I wanna join!" Zorua calls, having held back from interrupting as he goes running.

"Zorua, don't interrupt them!" Eve exclaims rushing once again after the troublesome kit.

"What… am I watching?" Dawn blinks, clearly at a loss for words.

"What a human heart in its purest form can look like," Sabrina answers. "A heart that can instill hope when only despair can be seen."

"Relon…" Clenching a hand to her chest, Dawn couldn't nor wanted to hide back her giddy smile that crept across her lips. Hope had broken through dawn filling her heart. Now, Relon, their savior, had done it once again towards more damaged hearts; he mended them. "He really is amazing."

"Alright!" Relon grins to punch his open palm. "First off, we rest and then we tackle the next facility! Who's with me?!"

All that came was a chorus of cries. Each one ready to follow their newfound trainer through whatever lied before their united path.
