Episode 20: Sharpedo Attack!
Still sailing across the ocean blue, Mew and the others continue traveling with Mr. Brieny and Wingull to the next gym on Dewford Island.
"Look how blue the sky is," Mew says.
"And the water, too," Max says.
"And feel that breeze!" Jen says.
"It's so peaceful, no one else is around," Brock adds
"The fresh air out here is amazing!" May says.
"You said it," Tomo says.
Molly and the Pokemon agree.
"Couldn't be better. The sea's in a good mood today, so I am, too. A perfect day to be out on a boat, huh?" Briney says.
"Gull! Wingull! Gull!" (Yup, I couldn't agree more!) Peeko happily says.
Mew then asks, "Hey Mr. Briney, how much longer till Dewford island?"
"Not long. If we keep up this speed, we'll easily be there by tonight," Briney says.
"Okay, thanks!" Mew says.
Then May says, "I forgot! Torchic, Wurmple, come on out!"
And let out her Pokemon.
"You guys shouldn't miss out on the fun. This way, we can all enjoy the boat ride!" May says.
"Great idea," Max says.
He then calls out Shroomish, Poochyena, and Zigzagoon.
"You're right, guys," Mew says.
"What a great idea!" Brock says.
Mew then says, "Here we go! Come on out!"
With that, Taillow, Treecko, Milotic, Togepi, and Lapras are let out of their Pokeball.
Brock does the same, "Alright, you come out too."
Brock lets Forretress, Lotad, Grookey, and Charjabug out.
"Come on out!" Tomo, Jen, and Molly say.
Tomo let out Staryu, Willow the Treecko, Shuppet, and Cubone.
Molly let out Teddiursa, Murkrow and Spinda.
Jen lets out Snover and Mantyke, even Clefairy.
"Let's relax and have some fun before we get there," Mew says.
All the Pokemon agree.
Down beneath the surface, Team Rocket follows our heroes in their Magikarp submarine.
Team Rocket chants as they pedal, ""We are the best, above all the rest! We are the best, above all the rest! We are the best, above all the rest!"
"This pace is way too slow. We'll never catch the twerps!" Jessie says.
They soon pedal faster as they chant, "We are the best above all the rest! We are the best above all the rest! We are the best above all the rest!"
"Too slow! Push those pedals to the metal!" Jessie says.
"Meowth, pick it up!" James says.
"Hey, worry about your own pedal pushin'!" Meowth says.
Wobbuffet then comes out, "Wobbuffet!" (After them!)
"You start pedaling, too!" Jessie says.
Team Rocket continues, "We are the best above all the rest! We are the best above all the rest!"
While Team Rocket follows behind as fast as they can, up on the surface, Wurmple eats a snack rapidly before getting sleepy
"Wurmple. ("Nap time.") Wurmple says and takes a nap.
Many of the pokemon are relaxing, while others are in the water for a good swim.
Lotad was launched a Water Gun that rained down on Pikachu, Eevee, and Torchic
"Pika!" (This is refreshing!) Pikachu says.
But Torchic shakes, "Tor!" (I hate water!)
Peeko was seen flying in the air with Taillow and Shuppet.
May stretches her arms, "Mm, the sun feels so great!"
Then Max has an idea, "I know! What do you think about going swimming with me?"
"Okay!" May says.
"I want to go swimming too," Molly says.
Then Briney says, "If you all want to cool off with a swim, I know just the place!"
Some of the gang seem happy when they overhear what Briney had said
"Really? What do you have in mind?" Mew asks.
"I think it will be for the best. Eevee and Springatio must still be tired after that battle with Roxanne," Max says.
"And being the great trainer that you are, you shouldn't have to push yourself so hard," Max says.
"That's true Max," Mew says
Then see the Pokemon relaxing, "And it will be nice for all the Pokemon to have some fun."
Everyone agrees with the idea.
With everyone's agreement, Briney says, "Sounds like it's been decided, then. Preparing to change course! Hard to port!"
Briney turns the ship port-ward as Peeko caws in agreement. As the boat heads to its new destination, all the Pokemon on the deck sleep.
"It's coming into view!" Briney calls out.
Pikachu and Eevee wake up and hop on Mew's shoulders.
"Hey, did you have a good nap? Look, we're gonna take a break and go swimming on that island," Mew says.
The island is seen getting nearer and nearer Pikachu and Eevee are amazed.
That'll be fun, right, pal?" Mew says.
As they head for the island, something in the water was following them.
They soon reach the island
"This must be a totally secret location," Mew says.
"It sure is peaceful," Molly says.
"It's the kind of place where pirates would want to come here and bury all their treasures in the sand," Max says.
Brock turns to Briney and asks, "Excuse me. What's the name of this island that we're headed toward?"
"This island has no name, and you won't find it on any map. I found it by chance long ago when I was just a young sailor out on my own for the first time. I sneak out here every now and again just for fun! But would you believe that, when I'm not at sea, I forget about this place entirely?" Briney explains.
"Wingull! (It's true) Peeko says.
Soon, May comes out of the cabin wearing a pink swimsuit with red and yellow polka dots
"Ta-da!" May happily laughs and runs towards the group.
"Uh, hey, when did you get that swimsuit, May?" Max asks.
May giggles, "I bought it Rustboro City because I'm better at planning ahead than you guys. She laughs and gets up the rails, "Guess I'll go in first!" and she jumps and dives in.
May soon surface, "Come on in, guys!"
Max passes through in his swimming trunks, "Coming through!"
Max then inhales, holds his nose and jumps in.
May laughs as she gets splashed, "Hey!"
Max surfaces and laughs.
Soon, Molly comes to wearing a blue one piece. Jen comes wearing a purple one piece swimsuit, and Tomo comes in wearing yellow swim trunks.
"Wait for us!" Tomo says and dives in.
Jen and Molly dive in soon after.
Once in the water, everyone begins to play together and laugh together. However, unknown to them something was watching from underwater.
"Hey, let's go in, too," Brock says.
"Yeah, sounds good," Mew says. Then turns to the Pokemon, "So who's up for going swimming?"
The Pokemon all cheered in agreement except for Torchic.
Torchic shakes his head in response, "Tor! Tor! ("Not me! I hate water!")
"Oh, Torchic," Mew says.
"Being a fire Pokemon, guess it wants to stay on the boat," Brock says, understanding Torchic's hatred of water.
Suddenly, they hear May, Max, Tomo, Jen, and Molly scream,
"Huh?" Brock and Mew respond confused.
They look out from the boat and gasp in shock. They find May and the others are surrounded by a large school of Pokemon.
A school of torpedo-shaped shark Pokémon covered with tiny, sharp denticles. It has a large mouth filled with triangular, sharp teeth. Its eyes are a deep red color and glow in the dark. It has two gill slits situated directly behind each eye. It is mostly dark blue with a white underbelly. There is a yellow star-shaped marking on its snout, and another star marking on its rear. It has a tall dorsal fin with two notches cut into it, with a pelvic fin directly opposite it. Its two pectoral fins are arranged so that they resemble the fins on the back of a torpedo.
Briney cries out, "Ah! Sharpedo!"
"Wingull! ("Sharpedo alert!") Peeko cries out.
"Where did they come from?" Mew exclaims.
In the water, the kids scream for help, "Help, Mr. Briney!"
"Go, Peeko!" Brieny calls out.
Mew then calls out, "Milotic, hurry!"
Peeko swoops in and Milotic swims in the water.
Briney calls out, "Stay calm and each grab ahold of Peeko's legs!"
"And hop on Milotic, quick!" Mew calls out.
May and Max grab hold of Peeko's legs and are carried up. Tomo, Jen, and Molly quickly climb on Milotic's back. The Sharpedo tried to get a bite on them but kept missing as the kids panicked. Milotic tries to swim away from them, but there's too many of them.
Mew calls out, "Taillow, help 'em out!"
Taillow flies over to help. Murkrow also does the same to help its trainer. They both attack the Sharpedo trying to bite the kids. One Sharpedo jumped and scratched Max's legs as he screamed in pain while panicking. Tomo and Molly also scream in pain due to getting scratched.
"Be careful! Sharpedo have a unique trait they can use called Rough Skin!" Briney cries out.
"Oh, so this is Sharpedo's Rough Skin, huh? It feels kinda like sandpaper and works pretty good! Hurts, ow!" Max says, still feeling the pain.
Brock calls out, "All Water Pokemon, get back in the boat."
The Water Pokemon who are in the water managed to jump back in the boat. Milotic is able to reach the boat as Brock and Mew help them back in. Mew then calls back Milotic in the Pokeball.
"Thanks Milotic," Mew says.
Then says, "Pikachu! Eevee! Thunderbolt now!" Mew calls out.
Pikachu and Eevee perform Thunderbolt, shocking the Sharpedo causing them to stand still.
".Alright, now's the time," Brock says.
Peeko, Taillow, and Murkrow quickly bring Maz and May back in the boat. Soon, everyone is safe and sound.
"That was close," Max says.
"Are you all gonna be okay?" Brieny asks.
"Yeah. Sure. Anyone else for a swim?" May says.
May notices the rips in her swimsuit, "Huh?!" Then goes to the railing in anger, "Hey, you! This swimsuit was brand-new and very expensive! How dare you put a rip in it..."
But then, one Sharpedo jumps and scares her forcing her to run away from the rails
Mew helps check Molly and Tomo's scratches.
"Are you both okay?" Mew asks.
"We're okay," Tomo says.
Molly says, "But it still hurts."
"It's still kind of tingly," Max says.
"You know, when a Sharpedo uses Rough Skin in a battle, it can be pretty damaging to most opponents that attack it, so it looks like you just might've gotten off easy in this case!" Brock says.
"Let's see if we can find out more about them," Mew says and brings out her Pokedex.
Dextette says, "Sharpedo, the Brutal Pokemon. A Water and Dark Type. Sharpedo can shoot out a jet of water allowing it to swim at 80 miles per hour. Due to their sharp fangs, they're highly feared and known as the Gangs of the Sea."
"Since the Sharpedo have come here, I think we should get going," Brieny says.
But before the stranger could answer, the boat shook, causing everyone to panic. The Sharpedo were tackling the boat on both the port and starboard sides.
The larger Sharpedo says, "Sharpedo!" (Get them!)
"Hold on to something, Mew!" Brock says.
Mew calls out, "Pikachu, Eevee, use Thunderbolt again!"
Pikachu and Eevee do so and shock all the Sharpedo.
"Great! Let's move!" Briney says.
Briney manages to sail the boat away from the Sharpedo.
Later that night, everyone gathered around a campfire having dinner.
Impressed, Briney says, "Superb! This food tastes like it's come from some of the top restaurants I've been to on sailing adventures!"
"Yeah, Brock's the best when it comes to cooking." Mew says.
The Pokemon agree
"Glad you all like it. So eat up, 'cause there's plenty to go around. And if anyone wants to drink some tea, I prepared a special herbal blend," Brock says.
"This fruit is my favorite. It's so good," May says.
"You know why? 'Cause it was me and Jen that picked it off the tree," Max says.
"I never knew that camping out on a deserted island could be so much fun," Tomo says.
"It'd be more fun if it wasn't for them," Briney says and looks out to see.
Mew does the same and sees some Sharpedo patrolling the water.
"Well, it looks like there weren't as many of them as there were before," May says.
"True, but the ones left behind are acting as lookouts," Briney ays.
"Lookouts?" Max questions.
"The others are probably resting somewhere not far from here," Briney says.
"Wow. Sharpedo seem like pretty smart Pokemon," Molly says.
"Not to mention dangerous. However, there's something unusual about how those Sharpedo were behaving," Mew says.
"Like what?" May asks.
"I agree with Mew. Sharpedo usually operate pretty independently. I've never heard of them forming schools like that before," Brock says.
"Yes, I thought that was strange as well," Brieny says, "And judging from what we saw this afternoon, it almost feels like the Sharpedo are working together to trap us!"
"Trap us?!" Molly asks, shocked and worried.
"Well, I have to get off this island to buy a new swimsuit," May says.
"And I don't think a normal battle is going to take care of those guys," Mew says.
"Yeah. Those Sharpedos look tough," Tomo says.
"Sounds like we need a plan," Jen says.
"I agree. There's to many of them. We may have more Pokemon between us, but it's still impossible!" Max says.
Then Brock says, "There could still be a way!"
"Huh?" The group replies.
Then Brock says, "Do you remember how one of the Sharpedo was an awful lot bigger than the others in the group?"
Everyone has a flashback to what happened out on the water
"Bet you that one's their leader," Brock says.
Flashback ends
"And if we could beat it in a one-on-one battle, I think the other might start taking orders from us instead," Brock says.
"That's a good theory, Brock, and I believe it's got to be worth us giving it a shot," Briney says.
Meanwhile, out at sea, Team Rocket surfaces in their Magikarp submarine.
"That motivational chanting stuff doesn't work," Jessie says.
"All it did was get us lost, and my throat hurts," James says.
"Dat's da last time I'm fallin' for one a' dose infomoicials," Meowth adds.
Jessie soon spots something, "Huh? Look! Land ho, you guys!"
"And where there's land, there could be…" James says.
"Food and water and restaurants and maybe even da twerps!" Meowth says.
But suddenly, a Sharpedo leapt out of the water, shocking Team Rocket before it started to attack the submarine, causing the trio to panic.
"James, do something! Don't just sit there!" Jessie cries out.
"I think he's scared stiff!" Meowth says.
But Jessie and Meowth soon see why James was scared stiff.
Frightened, Jessie cries out, "What is this?""
"It's a whole school of Sharpedo!" James says.
"And dey got us surrounded!" Meowth cries out.
Soon, Jessie brings out her Pokeball, "Surround yourselves with this! Go, Seviper!"
Seviper comes out as the lead Sharpedo charges
Jessie calls out, "Seviper, Poison Tail!"
Seviper landed a blow on the lead Sharpedo, but it managed to bite Seviper's tail, causing it to scream in pain.
Jessie calls out, "Hang on, Seviper! Hit it again with Poison Tail!"
Seviper nailed the lead Sharpedo again, forcing it back into the water.
"It actually worked!" Jessie and James call out.
"We rock!" Meowth cheers.
But the head Sharpedo leads the others to attack.
"Huh?" Team Rocket reacts.
Sharpedo and the rest of its school used Headbutt attack.
"Dey're coming right at us wit a giant group Headbutt attack!" Meowth panics.
The combined attack sends Team Rocket flying, but they spot the S.S. Wingull below them along with the group.
Jessie says, "Hey, I think I've spotted the twerps down there on the island. And they've got a new friend."
"Good eyesight, Jessie," James says.
"Incredible," Meowth says.
"20-20 vision," Jessie comments.
Then Jame cries out, "So how come you didn't see the Sharpedo coming!?"
"Seviper!" (We're blasting off again!) Seviper cries out.
The next day, Mew and the others are putting their plan into action of escaping the Sharpedo and getting off the island. Tomo and Mew set up their plan.
"That should work," Mew says.
Tomo calls out, "Hey, everything's ready at our end! How's it going over there?!"
"Everything is good to go!" Briney calls out.
"Great," Mew says.
Then turns to Tomo, "Tomo are you ready?"
"Aqua and I are ready," Tomo says.
"Squirtle!" (ready!) Aqua the Squirtle says.
"Then let's go!" Tomo says.
Aqua and Tomo dive in the water.
Tomo grabs Aqua and says, "Time to go!"
Then Aqua swims across the water at speed.
Tomo calls out, "Hey, Sharpedo! Look over here! Can't catch us!"
The Sharpedo are quick to notice, particularly the leader.
"What are you waiting for?!" Tomo calls out.
The Sharpedo school swam after them.
"Over here! Come on!" Tomo calls out.
The Sharpedo continue to pursue Tomo and Aqua.
"Hey, Tomo got the Sharpedo to follow them!" Max says.
"This might really work!" May says.
The lead Sharpedo, however, stayed behind.
"Look guys, the leader is alone now!" Molly says.
Brock calls out, "Okay, time to pull the ropes now!"
Briney, Jen, Molly, May, and Max pulled on a rope and brought out a long fence to trap the Sharpedo leader, but the lead Sharpedo rammed into the fence, causing the pullers to temporarily lose their grip. The lead Sharpedo continued to bang against the fence as the group struggled, but May ultimately fell in the water.
"May!" Jen calls out.
May quickly surfaced.
"Look out, May!" Molly cries out.
May turns to see The Sharpedo leader come at her with an open, possibly hungry mouth.
"Oh, no!" Max cries out.
May shuts her eyes as the Sharpedo closes in
Brock then comes out, "Go, Lotad!"
Lotad comes out and lands in front of the Sharpedo Leader, bringing it to a stop while the group pulls the rope back up.
"Grab the rope, May!" Max calls out.
"Hurry!" Jen calls out.
May does so and gets pulled to dry land and safety. Soon, Tomo and Aqua return to land.
"May! Are you alright?!" Mew calls out.
"You're not hurt are you?" Tomo asks.
"Don't worry, I'm okay!" May answers.
"Time for a one-on-one battle!" Brock says.
Now it's Lotad Vs. Sharpedo
Then Brock calls out "Lotad, Water Gun!"
Lotad didn't fire, however, and Sharpedo catches Lotad in its mouth.
Brock calls out, "Lotad, use your Water Gun!"
"Lotad? ("Water Gun?") Lotad responds.
Brock calls out, "Come on, now! What are you waiting for? Water Gun!"
Lotad finally understood and fired the attack at the Sharpedo.
"Finally!" Mew says.
"Guess that Lotad just like to keep us in suspense!" Jen says.
"Great, Lotad! Water Gun attack one more time!" Brock calls out.
Lotad charges in, but then stops and lands in front of the lead Sharpedo.
"Now what's going on, Lotad?" Brock says.
Mew and the others look at the two Pokemon.
Mew notices something, "Huh?"
Everyone looks confused. And then, the head Sharpedo suddenly keeled over and sank.
"What?!" Brock cries out.
"Just from one blast of Water Gun?" Tomo questions.
"No way! Impossible!" Max says.
"No…" Mew says, "Something's wrong with it."
Turned out that the lead Sharpedo had gone belly-up.
Later, the S.S. Wingull is further up on the beach, while everyone watches Mew and Brock tending to the Head Sharpedo.
"The Lead Sharpedo doesn't look very good," Molly says.
"Brock, Mew, is that Sharpedo gonna be okay?" May asks.
Mew says in concern, "This is not good."
"I think Mew is right. This Sharpedo was poisoned somehow," Brock says.
"Poison?" Jen says, worried.
"Yeah. I think that it took some sort of poison attack from another Pokémon," Brock says.
"Maybe one that lives in the ocean? It could be that it had a battle with a Tentacruel," Max suggests.
Mew nods her head, "Most likely, and now the poison is taking effect on it."
"Is there anything we can do to help?" Tomo asks.
"Meloetta?" (Is there anything we can do?) Meloetta asks.
"Mew and I are doing everything we can to keep its strength up and make sure it's comfortable, but we don't have many supplies here on this island," Brock says.
"Mew helps Sharpedo open its mouth and Brock pours some Pokemon food for it to eat.
"Sorry we're not Pokémon doctors, so we can't give you any proper medicine," Brock says.
"Brock, you and Mew are doing a terrific job. And I'm sure that Sharpedo appreciates whatever you can do for it," Briney says.
"Thank you, Mr. Briney," Mew says.
Lotad also tries to encourage Brock.
Brock nods, "You're right, Lotad! We'll just have to do the best with what we have!" then Mew and Brock pets the Sharpedo.
"You hang in there, Sharpedo," Mew says.
"Yeah. Mew and I will do what we can to help you," Brock says.
Later that night, everyone is eating dinner. Though, May looks worried as she looks at both Mew and Brock caring for the poisoned Sharpedo.
"Mew and Brock gonna wear themselves out taking care of that Sharpedo," May says.
"Yeah," Jen says, sadly.
"You're right," Max says.
Still in the water, Mew and Brock continue taking care of the poisoned Sharpedo.
Brock says to Sharpedo, "You know, I'm sure a little bit of poison is nothing to a big, powerful Pokémon like you, Sharpedo. You're the leader of the whole school, and you have a reputation to keep!"
Mew giggles, "I know that it hurts, Sharpedo. But you can't let this poison beat you."
Then Mew takes out a Pecha Berry, "Here you go. This is a Pecha Berry. They do wonders for Poison."
Brock takes the berry, "Thanks Mew."
"No problem. We just need to do what we can to help Sharpedo," Mew says.
Brock nods.
Through the night, Mew and Brock tend the poisoned Sharpedo and hope it will get better.
The next morning, the sun rises up and everyone is seen sleeping, including Brock and Mew, who are on Sharpedo's back. Soon, the Sharpedo awakens, feeling cured from the poison. The Sharpedo looks ahead to see Lotad sleeping in front of it. At first it's not happy, but then it has its eye towards Brock and Mew. Seeing the two humans, Sharpedo remembers how the two have taken care of it when it is sick and have stayed with it through the night. Sharpedo then places its fin over the two humans' backs as a way of thanking them. Lotad soon wakes up and finds that Lotad has moved. Lotad is happy to know that Sharpedo is okay.
Suddenly, the gate breaks before Team Rocket's Magikarp submarine surfaces, causing everyone to wake up. Two torpedoes were fired and nets shot out of them, the first ensnared Pikachu and Eevee
Seeing this, Mew cries out, "Pikachu! Eevee!"
The Lead Sharpedo then pushes Mew, Lotad, and Brock out of the way and the second net snares it.
"Sharpedo!" Brock cries out.
Pikachu, Eevee, and Sharpedo are soon pulled away.
They soon hear Jessie and James' voices, "What a catch!
"What's going on?!" Briney exclaims.
And soon, cue the Team Rocket motto.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble or you'll walk the plank.
James:
Make it double or your boat will sink.
The hatch opens.
"That doesn't rhyme!" Jessie points out.
Both Jessie and James leap out.
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation!
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation!
Jessie: lands on the sub.
To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James: lands on the sub.
To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie:
Jessie!
James:
James!
Jessie:
Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light.
James:
Surrender now or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Meowth! Dat's right!
"We came, we saw, and we conquered," Jessie says.
"Team Rocket!" Tomo and Jen cry out.
"Give back Pikachu, Eevee, and Sharpedo!" Mew demands.
"I don't wanna," Jessie refuses.
"That Sharpedo's been poisoned and it's very weak and sick!" Brock says.
"Huh?" Jessie says, surprised. She then says, "Well, if it isn't that same Sharpedo. Looks like Seviper's Poison Tail is working beautifully."
"What?!" Mew says, shocked.
This makes Brock angry, "You mean you're responsible for making it so sick?!"
Jessie angrily says, "You have a problem with that?!"
"Perhaps you could send that sympathy our way! We were the ones brutally attacked!" James says.
"Dey were mean!" Meowth says.
Brock soon notices that Lotad surfaced near the side of the submarine.
Brock soon has an idea and calls out, "Yeah! Lotad, Razor Leaf attack!"
Lotad launches the attack and cuts Pikachu, Eevee, and the Sharpedo leader free.
"Huh?" Team Rocket reacts
Soon, all three swim away while Team Rocket gasps in shock.
James calls out, "Come back!"
Pikachu and Eevee soon reach Mew.
"Alright Pikachu! Eevee! Thunder!" Mew calls out.
However, the trainer and both her Pokemon notice what's in front of them and decide not to attack
"Oh, well, it looks like we don't have to do anything this time around, huh guys," Mew says.
"Pikachu." (It seems so.) Pikachu says.
Team Rocket becomes confused, "Huh?"
"How come we ain't blasting off?" Meowth asks.
Soon, Eevee calls out, "Eevee Vee Vee Eevee!" (Team Rocket, look behind you!)
Confused, Jessie asks, "Translated?"
"Eevee says, 'Team Rocket, look behind you!'" Meowth translate.
"Behind us?" Jessie and James respond, confused.
They soon turn around with confused expressions, but scream when they realize they were surrounded by the Sharpedo school.
James cries out, frightened, "Is it possible they're all smiling at us?!"
"Well, if dey are smiling, it's probably because dey're looking at da next meal dey're gonna devour!" Meowth says, nervously.
Nervous, Jessie asks, "What are you talking about?"
"Does the term "lunch meat" mean anything to you?" James says, nervously.
The Sharpedo Leader then commands his school, "Shar!" (Charge!)
The Sharpedo School responds and prepares to attack.
"Meowth, should we…" Jessie asks, nervously.
"Do something?" James asks, nervously.
Nervous and scared, Meowth panics, "Dang the Sharpedo!"
Soon, all the Sharpedo School performs Headbutt with the leader taking the lead.
Team Rocket cries out, "We're blasting off again!"
"Wobbuffet!" (Now we're sunk!) Wobbuffet panics.
With the massive headbutt attack, the Magikarp submarine explodes, sending Team Rockets flying.
"At least we saw them coming this time!" Team Rocket cries out.
"Alright!" May says.
Molly calls out, "So long!"
Mew and Brock turn and happily call out, "Sharpedo!"
The Sharpedo leader comes towards Mew and Brock as he enters the water with Lotad on its head.
"Looks like you're feeling better now, huh, Sharpedo?" Brock says.
"Yeah. You've got your strength back," Mew says.
But the two notice something, "Huh?"
What Brock and Mew notices is some of the school nuzzling against him, causing them to panic
"Hey! Wait! Not the Rough Skin, please!" Brock cries out.
"Please don't give us any Rough Skin!" Mew cries out.
However, the two stop panicking to realize something.
"Hey, it doesn't hurt," Brock says.
"You're right," Mew says.
Then Briney says, "Sharpedo's Rough Skin isn't going to work on you anymore."
"Huh?" The group replies, confused.
"But why not?" Max asks.
"Because you all made friends with it. And did you know there are certain Pokémon traits that will stop working on people once the Pokémon have grown to like them?" Briney says.
"Huh?" May and Max respond, confused.
Max puts his hand on one of the Sharpedo and pets it, with May doing the same.
"Oh! It's true. Doesn't hurt at all!" Max says
"Not one bit. Right?" Jen says.
"Yeah, it's weird but cool," May says.
Tomo pets one as well, "Learning stuff like this makes me love Pokémon even more!"
The Pokemon agree.
Brock says to the leader, "Sharpedo, I guess we're all friends now, aren't we?"
"Sharpedo." (Absolutely!) Sharpedo Leader says.
Later in the evening, Mew and her friends are now at their destination.
"This here is Dewford Town on Dewford Island! Briney says.
"Thanks so much, Mr. Briney," Mew says.
"I'll be heading over to Slateport City so I can prepare for my cruise. I hope to see you again someday," Briney says,
Peeko caws in agreement.
"Yeah!" The group says.
"I'll have a new swimsuit by then!" May says.
Soon, the lead Sharpedo and two other Sharpedo to shore where Mew and Brock are.
"Hey Sharpedo, what's up?" Mew asks.
Just then, the Lead Sharpedo tosses something from its fin towards Brock and Mew. Both of them catch it. Brock and Mew look at the objects that have been tossed to them. To their surprise, each of them orbs. They're both white with blue and yellow in the center.
"Wow. these are Megastones," Brock says.
"They look like Sharpedonites," Mew says.
Then the other two Sharpedo presents two Pokemon Eggs. Mew and Brock kneel down and pick up the Pokemon Eggs. The two areas are red at the bottom and blue on the top with two yellow stripes, and a jagged line dividing the two colors.
Mew asks, "Are these for us?"
The three Sharpedo nod their heads in response.
"Oh, thank you," Brock says.
"We'll take good care of them," Mew says.
The Sharpedo are pleased to hear it. And with that, the Sharpedo school starts swimming out to sea.
"You guys all take care, too!" Brock says.
"Goodbye!" Mew calls out.
The Sharpedo wave their fins to say goodbye as they return to the open sea.
Mew and her friends, and their new Pokémon friends go their separate ways as they receive Eggs of new friends and stones. But as their journey continues, they're sure to make more friends and discover more unknown Pokémon along the way.
"Yeah! Tomorrow we'll finally have our battle at the Dewford Gym. Are you ready, guys?" Mew asks.
