Episode 27: Turning Over a Nuzleaf

One morning, Mew and her friends are trekking through a cave after some morning training.

"Alright! So, today's training is done," Mew says.

Then Tomo says, "I vote we go get some breakfast."

May, Max, Jen, and Molly say, "Sounds good to me."

All the Pokémon agree.

The group continues walking through the cave as they head back to camp.

"I'm extra hungry this morning," May says.

"Me too," Tomo says.

"So am I," May says.

"That makes four," Max says, "Okay, Brock. Hope you are in the mood to cook."

"No problem, Max," Brock says, "But only if you do that Corphish impression."

Max does so, causing everyone to laugh.

Soon, Corphish comes across a smaller cave off to the left. Inside, it finds a snoozing Loudred and lightly pokes at it, amusing it until it makes the mistake of pinching its ear, causing it to wake up and run around in pain as a result, which the gang are quick to react in panic towards.

The Loudred starts screaming in pain, hurting everyone's ears.

Brock throws his Pokeball and calls out, "Forretress, use Rapid Spin on that wall!"

Forretress materializes and does so, making a way out for the group.

"Come on, let's get out of here!" Jen cries out.

Mew then calls out, "Pikachu, bring everyone this way!"

But before Pikachu can do anything, the Loudred smashes into a rock, creating a cover of dust while also causing May to drop her Silcoon and Mudkip, and Mudkip is rolling away.

Soon, Pikachu and the other Pokemon chase after Silcoon.

Pikachu calls out, "Pika!" (Silcoon!)

Molly chases after them, "Wait, come back!"

Molly, Pikachu, Eevee, and the Pokemon continue chasing Silcoon while the Loudred buries itself deep underground

"That was close," Tomo says.

"My ears are still ringing," Max says.

Brock soon notices, "Hey, where'd Pikachu go?"

"Maybe outside?" Mew wonders.

May realizes, "Torchic, Mudkip, and Silcoon are gone, too!"

Max realizes, "Poochyena is gone too."

"So are Meloetta and Skwovet," Tomo says.

"Amaura and Molly are gone too," Jen says.

Everyone gasps in shock when they realize their Pokémon and friend had all vanished.

Meanwhile, Silcoon finally came to a stop.

Molly finds it, "There you are!"

Pikachu and Eevee also appear. They try to reach for Silcoon, but can't.

Then Corphish walks over, "Cor Phish Pish Pish." (Let me try and get it!)

Corphish tries to grab Silcoon, but can't and instead causes it to roll forward before falling itself with Pikachu and Torchic falling with it.

"Oh no!" Molly says and dives in after it.

The other Pokemon do the same one by one. Everyone swims in the river. However, they soon find that they were all heading to a waterfall.

"Pikachu!" (This isn't good!) Pikachu cries out.

They all soon go over, but their fall is broken by some trees.

Pikachu looks around as he calls out, "Pika! Pikachu?!" (You guys! Are you okay?)

All the Pokémon confirm.

But Torchic Notices Tor torchic torchic?!" (Huh? Wait a minute? Where's Molly?)

"Up here!"" Molly calls out.

They all look to see Molly up a tree. Treecko climbs over to Molly and helps her down.

"Thank you, Treecko," Molly says.

"Treecko," (You're welcome.) Treecko says.

Then, they all notice Corphish was stuck in something. Pikachu tries to pull Corphish out, but to no avail

Treecko walks over, "Treecko." (Let me try it.)

Treecko then gets behind Corphish and raises his tail. Right on cue, Treecko uses his tail to smack Corphish free like a golf ball, but ultimately hits it too hard as it went flying into the sky before coming back down on it's with a thud, though angry at how Treecko sent it flying.

"Treecko," (No need to thank me.) Treecko says.

Both prepare to fight, but Pikachu steps in

"Pika Pika!" (That's enough, guys!) Pikachu says.

"I think Pikachu is right, we shouldn't fight. We need to find Mew and the others," Molly says.

"Loette," (I agree.) Meloetta says.

But both Treecko and Corphish insist on battling it out, despite Pikachu, Eevee, and Mudkip, respectively, trying to keep them separated.

Torchic says, "Torchic. Chic." (Poor May. I miss her.)

May's little Mudkip is on the verge of tears. But Poochyena tries to comfort him.

"Don't worry Mudkip, Torchic we'll find the others," Molly says.

Little Mudkip and Torchic cheer up.

Meanwhile, Mudkip was trying to settle Treecko and Corphish down, and they eventually decided to shake and make up.

"Well then, let's get going," Molly says.

Pikachu then picks up Silcoon, "Pikachu! Pikachu!" (She's right! Let's get back to the others.)

The group goes on their way.

Meanwhile, back in the cave, the rest of the gang are busy looking for the missing Pokémon.

"See anything?" Mew calls out.

"Not that way," Brock says.

"Nothing this way, either," Max says.

"Not a thing," May says.

"Nope," Tomo says.

"Not here either," Jen says.

"Where do you think they could've possible gone?" May asks.

"Well, seems like we searched the whole cave, so I guess, somehow, they got outside," Mew says.

"Pikachu and the others will be fine, especially Molly, but I'm worried about Torchic and little Mudkip. I hate to think what could happen if it ran into a scary Pokémon like that last one," May says.

"Well, it sure was Loudred," Mew says.

"No kidding," Max says.

"Let's see what we can learn about it," Mew says, and brings out her Pokedex.

Dextette: Loudred, the Big Voice Pokémon. A Normal Type. Loudred has a voice powerful enough to blast a wooden house into splinters. Its round ears act as speakers.

"Big Voice Pokémon?" Brock questions

"Well, I'd say that's an appropriate name," May says.

"And has a big mouth," Jen says.

"No kidding. And by using its ears as speakers, that made it even louder," Max says.

"Okay, is everyone ready to go look outside now?" Mew asks

Everyone agrees.

"Don't worry, guys. We'll find you, no matter what it takes," Mew says.

Meanwhile, in another part of the cave, Team Rocket wanders.

"That's strange. I could've sworn I saw the twerps going into this cave," Jessie says.

"I don't know, Jess. I think we've scoured every cook and cranny of this cave," James says.

And Meowth says, "Well, at least we ain't lost cause you can always rely on Meowth to find da way."

"Meowth, you're my hero. At least you would be if you weren't short, fat and ugly," Jessie says.

Then James asks, "So, where to, guys?"

"I refuse to stand here and get insulted like dat!" Meowth says.

"But I was giving you a compliment," Jessie says, "Now, look how dark it is. I can hardly see my hand in front of my face. So, James, I was relying on you to bring a light and you let me down."

James chuckles sheepishly, "I thought Meowth was always the one in charge of bringing things like that."

"And I taught dat was Jessie's department," Meowth says, pointing to Jessie.

But Jessie says, "Don't look at me! You two should know better than to rely on others."

"Oh, no. We ain't nevah gonna find da way out of dis stinking cave," Meowth says.

"That's hardly the attitude that has led Team Rocket to some of its greatest achievements such as, you know, the Celadon City Game Corner scheme," Jessie says.

Wobbuffet soon says, "Woooobbuffet!" (Nice reference!)

Jessie turns to see her Pokemon out again, "And just what are you doing out of your Pokéball again?" But realizes its standing on something dangerous, "I'm not sure if you should be standing on that thing."

What Wobbuffet was standing on was the Loudred our heroes ran into, who promptly wakes up, frightening Team Rocket before it starts going on a rampage and uses its powerful voice to send Team Rocket blasting off.

"Told you I'd find da way out!" Meowth cries out.

Wobbuffet also cries out, "Woooobbuffet!" (We're blasting off again!)

Meanwhile, Molly and the Pokémon continue to go on their merry way. Corphish soon spotted some mushrooms and decided to pick one, only to be stopped at the last moment by Pikachu and Eevee.

"Pika Pika Pikachu! (Corphish, what in the world are you thinking?!) Pikachu cries out.

"Eevee Vee Vee! Eevee Vee Eevee!" (Those mushrooms are very poisonous! They'll make you really sick!) Eevee adds.

Pikachu does so by showing just what would happen if Corphish did eat the poisonous mushroom.

Suddenly, Mudkip calls out, "Mudkip!" (Hey, guys!)

What Mudkip found was trees and bushes with berries and fruit.

"Mudkip Mud! Mudkip Mudkip Mudkip!" (Looky here! Trees and bushes of berries!) Mudkip says.

However, Corphish starts eating most of what it can get its claws on.

"Easy Corphish, you'll choke if you're not careful," Molly says.

Corphish soon starts choking on some.

"Pika. Pikachu," (Oh, boy. Help him, Treecko.) Pikachu says to Treecko.

Treecko Treecko." (If you say so.) Treecko says.

Treecko walks up and smacks Corphish from behind with a Pound attack, sending it flying forward before it spat out the berry it was choking on.

Corphish gets up, happy that Treecko saved it, but the others were just concerned.

"Pikachu?" (Should we get going?) Pikachu asks.

"Mudkip." (I guess so.) Mudkip says.

Later, the group was on their way again, while another Pokémon watched them from up in a tree. A bipedal plant Pokémon with a single green leaf atop its head. This Pokémon is mostly brown with a beige mask marking on its face. Its bulky thighs are also beige and have thin striations, and there are what appear to be two nipples on its chest. It has thin arms with mitten-like hands.

Soon, the Pokémon picked a leaf from a tree, and the next thing Molly notices, all the Pokémon started to get drowsy.

Turns out that the mystery Pokémon was playing a whistling sound on a leaf and making them go in circles around a rock.

"Huh? What's going on?" Molly wonders.

The mystery Pokémon stops playing the whistling leaf and chuckles to itself, but Treecko is quick to snap out of his trance and realize something was amiss.

Molly asks, "Treecko, are you okay?"

Treecko nods.

Soon, Pikachu and Eevee also snap out of the trance he was in.

They soon hear the mystery Pokémon laughing hysterically up in the tree it was sitting in.

Molly looks up to see the Pokemon laughing.

"What Pokemon is that?" Molly asks.

Mudkip answers, "Mud Mudkip." (It's a Nuzleaf.)

Treecko soon spits its twig at the Nuzleaf, only for it to dodge in time.

"Pika Pikachu?" (Why are you doing this, Nuzleaf?) Pikachu demands.

All of the Pokémon start acting upset towards the Nuzleaf.

Nuzleaf." (Because I do what I like.) Nuzleaf says.

Corphish charges in and tries to grab the Nuzleaf, but can't in time.

"Leaf, Nuzleaf!" (Too slow, Slowpokes!) Nuzleaf says, but looks up and sees its leaf was cut.

Everyone starts laughing. Molly is surprised to see the Nuzleaf leaf is cut, and can see Nuzleaf is not happy.

This makes Nuzleaf upset, "Nuzleaf…" (Why you...)

Soon, Molly approaches, "Sorry about that."

Nuzleaf looks at Molly who is standing in front of it.

Molly reaches into her bag, "But you shouldn't attack or play tricks on us." And then brings out a bandage, "Don't worry, I'll fix it," Molly then places a bandage on the bandage.

Nuzleaf looks to see the green bandage that has a leaf on it.

He is still mad at the Pokemon for laughing, but is amazed to see Molly's kindness. The Nuzleaf suddenly shouts and many other Nuzleaf answer its call.

Molly says in concern, "I got a bad feeling about this."

"Nuzleaf." (You should.) Nuzleaf says.

The Nuzleaf leaps upward as more Nuzleaf are heard calling.

"Pi. Pika." (This. Ain't good.) Pikachu says.

Meanwhile, Taillow, Dragonair, and Clefairy are searching for the others.

"I can't stop worrying about Torchic, Mudkip, and Silcoon. They probably miss me so much they're crying right now," May says, worried.

"Don't worry, May, Azusa," Mew reassures, "Pikachu, Eevee, Poochyena, Mudkip and Molly are with them, so they'll be fine. Nothing's gonna happen as long as they all stick together. I promise you both, we're gonna find them soon."

"Yeah. Okay," May says.

Meanwhile, the group is just simply walking along like nothing happened, until a bunch of berries tied together drops down in front of Corphish. Corphish grabs then and is quickly hoisted up, while the others barely notice. Molly hears something and turns to notice nothing.

Then Lotad spots a small pond and goes for a swim. Amaura follows after it, but are soon caught in a trap.

Soon, Treecko realized something was wrong and looked behind him.

"Treecko." (That's odd.) Treecko says.

Right then and there, a lasso trap came down behind Treecko and snatched him up by the tail, same with Skwovet by the tail as well.

Meloetta, Torchic, and little Mudkip then stop when they see a small patch of flowers off the side of the path. But as it stopped to smell them, a net dropped down on it.

But this time, Molly and the Pokemon hear it.

"Torchic? Mudkip?" Molly questions.

Soon, they realize that everyone else is gone.

"Where did everyone go?" Molly wonders.

Soon, two Nuzleaf then slowly drop down and snatch Silcoon and Molly.

Pikachu cries out, "Pika!" (What the?!)

"Eevee!" (Molly!) Eevee cries out.

"Mudkip!" (Silcoon!) Mudkip cries out.

Soon, they see two Nuzleaf up in the tree.

Pikachu demands, "Pika! Pika Pika!" (Hey, you! Put our friend down!)

However, the Nuzleaf refuse and run off through the trees.

"Pika." (Why, you...) Pikachu angrily says.

"Eevee!" (Get back here!) Eevee calls out.

With that, Pikachu, Eevee, Poochyena, and Mudkip follow the Nuzleaf. Meanwhile, Taillow is flying overhead and notices Pikachu, Eevee, Poochyena, and Mudkip running in the woods.

"Taillow Taillow Taillow! (I better tell the others!) Taillow says, and flies back to do just that.

Up on a mountain several of the Nuzleaf have captured Molly and the other Pokemon. Of course, Molly is placed in a separate person from the Pokemon.

The Nuzleaf says, "Nuzleaf. Nuzleaf. Leaf. (You cut part of my leaf. You will be punished.)

Another Nuzleaf says, "Nuz…" (And your punishment...)

"Leaf!" (Being burned at the stake!) The third Nuzleaf says.

Soon, a bonfire starts raging. Treecko tries to bust through the cage, but it won't break

"Treecko." (That's strong wood.) Treecko says.

Corphish then tries to break it with a Crab Hammer, but with the same result, the Nuzleaf just laughs at the futile attempts by the Pokémon to escape. All the while, Team Rocket watches nearby

"Wow, looks like the twerps Pokémon have been captured by some weird things, but I don't know what they are," Jessie says.

"Dose tings are Nuzleaf," Meowth says.

"What are Nuzleaf?" Jessie asks.

"Well, I've heard that Nuzleaf are very rascally little Pokémon," Jessie says.

"Yeah, but now dey're angry because Corphish musta somehow damaged da leaf on dat one Nuzleaf's head. And da leaves on deir heads are really important to dem. And dey're talking about maybe boining da Pokémon of the twerps at da stake!" Meowth says.

"Uh, that seems a little excessive," James says.

"It sounds reasonable to me. If anyone damaged my beautiful hair, I'd burn them at the stake, too," Jessie says.

Then wonders, "I wonder why the little twerpette is trapped in the other cage."

Seeing the Nuzleaf talking and pointing to Molly and the bandage, Meowth says, "Well, the Nuzleaf says that the little twerpette was nice to try to patch the leaf up with the bandage. So she will be in the cage, until the punishment is done. Then they can drop her off in a nearby town or somewhere where humans can find her."

"Make sense, but can they at least hide her? She's too young to witness a burn out," James says.

Then Meowth notices, "Hey, guys, look! Over dere!

What they see is Pikachu, Eevee, Poochyena, and Mudkip arrive to the rescue.

"It's Pikachu, Eevee, Poochyena, and Mudkip!" Meowth says.

"Well, that leaves us one choice," Jessie says.

"Right! We'll capture the girl, the Pokémon and those Nuzleaf, too!" James says.

"A Pokémon extravaganza!" Meowth says.

"Woooobbuffet!" (Then let's go!) Wobbuffet says.

Arriving, Pikachu demands, "Pika! Pika Pika!" (Alright, let our friends go!)!

"Nuz, Nuzleaf... ("No, it's our...") Nuzleaf says.

The rest of the group says, "Nuzleaf! Nuzleaf!" (Verdict! Burn at the stake!)

Pikachu prepares to try to shock them, but Mudkip stops him.

Mudkip approaches and attempts to make peace with the entire tribe, but the chief Nuzleaf refuses to listen, claiming it wouldn't be the way they life. However, they also explain that the little human will go free after the punishment.

Then, a net suddenly drops down on the entire tribe before they're hauled up.

Suddenly, Pikachu and Eevee trapped by a mechanical rubber hand.

Molly cries out, "Pikachu! Eevee!"

"Pika Pika!" (Someone help!) Pikachu cries out.

"Nuzleaf?!" (What's happening?!) Nuzleaf asks.

Eevee looks up, "Vee Eevee!" (It's Team Rocket!)

Team Rocket reveals themselves with a laugh.

"We'll just take Pikachu, Eevee, and the Nuzleaf and be on our way," Jessie says.

The Pokemon demand to let the Pokemon go.

Molly says, "Let them go!"

And with that, Team Rocket performs the motto.

Jessie:

Sorry, but the Pokemon don't speak human. Either way, prepare them for trouble that they don't understand.

James:

Make it double, cause, believe it or not, you're ALL part of our plan!

Jessie:

To protect the world from devastation.

James:

To unite all peoples within our nation.

Jessie:

To denounce the evils of truth and love.

James:

To extend our reach to the stars above.

Jessie:

Jessie.

James:

James.

Jessie:

Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light.

James:

Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight.

Meowth:

Meowth! Dat's right!

Wobbuffet:

Woooobbuffet! (End of scene!)

Pikachu and Eevee try to shock his way free, but can't.

The chief Nuzleaf tries to break the net with Razor Leaf, but to no avail.

"Don't bother. As usual, we've taken all anti-electrical precautions," Jessie says.

"And that attack won't give you any net benefit, Nuzleaf," James says.

"Yeah! And it's also equipped so dat it holds up against Pikachu and Eevee's Iron Tail attack. And da beauty of all of dis is dat it all woiks against Nuzleaf's Razor Leaf, too," Meowth says.

"Enough already, let's go," Jessie says.

"Huh?" James says, confused.

"But what about da Twerpette and the other Pokemon down dere?" Meowth asks.

"Leave them," Jessie says, "Besides, like James said, they'd make us lose altitude anyway. Plus, not only do we have Pikachu and Eevee, but we also have those Nuzleaf that can help us capture any other Pokémon we might want."

"We got it made!" James says.

"Livin' la vida loca!" Meowth says

Wobbuffet then says, "Woooobbuffet!" (Absolutely!)

"Time for us to fly!" Team Rocket says.

Molly calls out, "Mudkip, you need to break the cage!"

Mudkip then tries to use Water Gun on both cages, but to no avail.

"Oh no," Molly says, worried, "What do we do now?"

Suddenly, they hear Mew's voice, "Hey, guys!"

They all look and see Mew and the others coming.

"Don't worry, we're coming to get you!" Mew says.

"Mew! Guys!" Molly happily calls out.

Mew calls out, "Taillow, use Quick Attack!"

Taillow darts forward.

Brock calls out, "Forretress, Rapid Spin, now!"

Taillow and Forretress zoom forward for the attack and help smash the cage. Soon, the cage breaks apart, freeing the Pokemon. Then do the same to the cage Molly is, breaking apart and freeing Molly as well.

May rush over, "Hey, Torchic! Hi, Silcoon! Hello Mudkip!"

The three Pokemon approach their trainer.

"Are you okay?" May asks.

Max rushes over, "You okay, Poochyena."

All the Pokemon confirm that they're okay.

"They're all okay," Jen says, hugging Amaura.

"Great, but now we gotta get Pikachu and Eevee back," Mew says.

"And the entire Nuzleaf! Tribe!" Molly says.

Brock looks up, "They have a pretty good head start."

"But we'll stop them," Mew says and has an idea.

She then turns to Corphish, "Corphish, use Crab Hammer on me to launch me in the air."

Corphish agrees. Up in the clouds, Pikachu and Eevee try to come up with a plan with the chief Nuzleaf, when suddenly, Mew comes soaring at them.

Pikachu and Eevee happily call out, "Pika Pi!/Eevee! (Mew!)

Mew soon grabs the net holding the Nuzleaf, shocking Team Rocket.

"The twerpette?!" Jessie cries out.

"But how can she fly?!" James asks.

"On a wing and a prayer or by da seat of her pants!" Meowth says.

"Are you alright, guys?" Mew asks.

"Pika Pika!" (We are now.) Pikachu says.

Mew turns to the Nuzleaf, "I'm gonna get all of you guys out of this net.)

"Nuz? Nuzleaf Nuz?" (You will? But just how?) Nuzleaf asks.

Mew tries to undo the knot holding the net up.

Meowth laughs, "

"Undoing the knot? That's gonna take you a hundred years.

"We tied it up tightly with the strongest knot that's ever been invented," Jessie says.

Mew then tries to use his teeth, surprising the Nuzleaf chief as he manages to break the knot

"Pikachu!" (You did it!) Pikachu happily calls out.

The net soon drops and the Nuzleaf fall with it, shocking Team Rocket as they all land safely.

"She did it!" May happily says.

"Alright!" Max cheers.

"Go Mew!" Jen calls out.

But Brock realizes, "Wait! If the balloon goes any higher, I'm scared that Mew, Eevee, and Pikachu are gonna…"

Soon, Mew tries to free Pikachu and Eevee.

Jessie shouts, "Hey! This balloon is private property!"

James then calls out, "Go, Cacnea, Pin Missile!"

Cacnea comes out and opens fire, only for Mew to duck so the pins could hit the mechanical arm, damaging it and allowing Mew to free Pikachu and Eevee.

"Pika Pi!" (Mew!) Pikachu says.

Eevee cheers, "Eevee!" (We're free!)

"Pikachu. Eevee," Mew happily says.

Jessie exclaims, "What?!"

"That's not good! Did I make a mistake?!" James panics.

"I would say, yeah," Meowth says.

Mew looks down, "I wonder how we're going to get down?"

"Pika," (Not sure.) Pikachu says.

"Eevee," (We're too high up.) Eevee says.

"Oh no! They've gotten so high; I can barely see them!" Max says, shocked.

"We have to do something!" May says.

"But what can we do?" Molly wonders.

Brock soon notices the net, "I know! We can use that net!"

Molly turns to the Nuzleaf, "Nuzleaf, can you help us save our friend."

The Nuzleaf look at Molly.

The Nuzleaf leader then says, "Nuz, Nuzleaf!" (Your friend saved us, so now it's our turn to return the favor!)

Meanwhile, up in the sky.

"So, twerpette, the higher we go, the less chance for a safe escape," Jessie says.

"Looks like you, Eevee, and Pikachu are tagging along," James says.

"Take us down, now!" Mew demands.

But she hears Brock's voice, "Mew!"

Mew, Eevee, and Pikachu look down and see the discarded net extended out for them.

Tomo calls out, "Hurry and jump down to the net!"

Mew turns to her friends, "Ready guys?"

Pikachu and Eevee nod.

Then all three make a jump for it, shocking Team Rocket. Thankfully, they land right on the net safely.

"Thanks, you guys," Mew says.

Team Rocket starts to panic, as they knew what was coming next.

"Are you ready, Corphish and Treecko?" Mew says.

Both confirm before Treecko uses Pound to launch Corphish straight at the balloon before firing a Bubble Beam at it while Team Rocket panics. The balloon goes kaboom and Team Rocket are sent flying

"Looks like we're blasting off again!" Team Rocket cries out.

Wobbuffet also cries out, "Woooobbuffet!" (Twice already!)

Corphish soon starts to plummet.

"Corphish!" Mew calls out.

However, Treecko catches it with his tail at the last possible second, ultimately forming a friendship between the two.

"About time," Brock says.

"Something good came out of this at least," Mew says.

Molly says, "Thank you for helping us, Nuzleaf."

The tribe happily replies to them, your welcome, and thanks for helping them as well.

Later that evening, Mew examines Nuzleaf in his Pokédex

Dextette says, "Nuzleaf, the Wily Pokémon. A Grass and Dark Type. Nuzleaf can be found living in thick woodlands. The soft melodies they play on a leaf like a pipe are said to comfort humans."

"Those Nuzleaf are a lot nicer than I thought," Max says.

Molly smiles, "They are, but it's not to make them mad."

"Yeah, and it looks like they became good friends with Pikachu and the others, too," Mew says.

Pikachu, Eevee, and the other Pokémon proved they don't always need their trainers around to get involved in some pretty amazing adventures of their own, and so has Molly. But now it's time to get back on track to their training, and another adventure awaits.
