Episode 29: Seeing is Believing!
Dewford Island is filled with lots of surprises and meeting up with Professor Birch turned out to be one of them. One more for breakfast? No problem for the master chef."
"Brock;s cooking has got to be the best I've ever tasted," Prof. Birch says.
"Told you, Professor," Mew says.
"Aww, guys. You don't really mean that, do you?" Brock asks, flustered.
"Yeah, May's cooking can't even come close," Max says.
Embarrassed, May says, "Thanks, Max. You're too kind."
Tomo then says, "Professor, I got an idea. Want to take a look at some of the new Pokémon that we got?"
"That's a great idea," Prof Birch says.
"Alright! Come on out, guys!" Mew says.
She soon reveals Corphish, Taillow, Treecko, Spewpa, and little Mudkip
"Ah, a Treecko, a Taillow, a Mudkip, and a Corphish," Prof. Birch says.
Then leans to, "Hello there, how's it going?"
Corphish pounds on the professor with its left claw.
Mew chuckles, "That's just Corphish's way of saying hello, but it seems to really like you."
Prof. Birch chuckles, "It sure does. That's okay, no harm done."
"Now, let's look at my Pokémon, Professor," May says and throws her Pokeballs, "Come on out."
Soon, Silcoon, Aron, and Mudkip come out.
"Whoa. That is one awesome Silcoon. It'll become a stunning Beautifly," Prof. Birch says.
'You think so?" May asks.
"I do," Prof. Birch says.
"Take a look at at mine Professor," Max says.
He then calls out Galarian Zigzagoon, Shroomish, Poochyena, and Nincada.
"Wow. You sure caught some great Pokemon, and it's rare to see a Zigzagoon from the Galar Region," Prof Birch says.
"Mine too," Tomo says, and calls out Willow the Treecko and River the Mudkip.
"Wow. you caught a Treecko and a Mudkip as well. It looks like you've taken good care of them," Prof. Birch says.
"Thanks," Tomo says
"Okay, my turn. Come on out, Lotad and Mudkip," Brock says.
Mudkip and Lotad then come out.
"So, Mudkip and Lotad. Interesting," Prof. Birch says, and leans to Lotad, "Hey, Lotad, what's going on there?"
"That Lotad. It's kind of a daydreamer, Professor," Brock says.
Mudkip sets Lotad in the right direction.
Prof. Birch nods and chuckles, "All of you have beautiful Pokémon."
Elsewhere on the island, Jessie is tending to her Cascoon.
"I just adore cleaning my precious little Silcoon. I can't wait for it to evolve into a Beautifly," Jessie says.
"That, could be a long time," James says.
Meowth whispers, "How can it be a Silcoon when it's busy being a Cascoon, huh?"
"According to this card I found yesterday, Silcoon look like this,' James says and shows the picture.
James shows Jessie the card and she sees the difference between her Pokemon and a Silcoon.
However, Jessie says, "Obviously that card you found may be a misprint," and says to her Cascoon, "Just ignore him, Silcoon."
Both James and Meowth are left flabbergasted before they give up on convincing her.
"It's a lost cause," James and Meowth respond.
Meanwhile, Mew and the others are walking around the island for the training.
"So, where should we go for our Pokemon training today?" Mew wonders.
"Dewford Island has lots of choices, you could train almost anywhere," Prof. Birch says.
"And it's bursting with new Pokemon, too," Max says.
"Yep," Prof. Birch says.
"Yeah," Max happily says with a chuckle, "But, if this place is bursting with Pokemon, then where are they?"
Suddenly, something falls from the tree Max is standing under and hits him on the head.
"What's that?" Max asks.
Two more Seedot fall from the tree.
"Those are Seedots," Mew says.
"A Seedot," May says, and gets out her Pokédex.
Dextette says, "Seedot, the Acorn Pokemon. A Grass Type. Seedot resembles an acorn when hanging by its head from branches. It jumps or falls down suddenly to the surprise of passersby."
"So these are Seedot?" Molly asks.
"They sure don't look very happy, do they?" May says.
"They get this way when they don't have enough water," Prof. Birch says.
"I have some water. This'll cheer them up," Max says.
Max gets out his water bottle and pours some for the Seedot, "Go ahead, have some."
But the Seedot refuses.
"Not thirsty?" Max questions.
Brock turns to Prof. Birch, "Hey, Professor Birch, I thought Seedot drink from sucking moisture from the trees when they're hanging from a branch."
"Yes, that's exactly right," Prof. Birch says.
Tomo then hangs a Seedot back on its branch, "So, drink up."
However, the Seedot drops from it.
"Maybe that tree's out of moisture," May says.
Mew looks at her right, "Guys, look."
The group turns to see a landslide has taken place.
"Looks like a landslide. It's possible the trees they like to drink from have been knocked over by it," Prof. Birch says.
"Oh no. No wonder they're sad," Max says.
"Did you know you can cheer up a Seedot by polishing its body with a leaf?" Prof. Birch says.
"Wow," Max says and polishes one of the Seedot, cheering it up.
"You were right. They love it!" Jen says.
"That was a great idea," Brock says.
"You gotta know what makes a Pokemon tick if you want to get in tune with their inner thoughts and feelings," Prof Birch says.
The three Seedot happily roll around in the grass and the professor joins them.
"Roll over, Seedot. Roll over, Seedot," Prof. Birch says with a chuckle, "Roll over. Roll over. Roll over."
May asks, "Brock, is Professor Birch's fieldwork all about playing with the Pokemon he's studying."
"It's his way of talking to the Pokemon on their own level," Brock says.
"It sure looks like fun," Tomo says.
"Yeah. Let's do it too," Molly says.
Tomo, Jen, and Molly copy the Seedot and Prof. Birch. Mew and the others giggle with smiles on their faces.
While the professor and some of the group are playing, Mew and the others watch, Team Rocket spies from afar.
"Dat some sorta new dance? Or is he just playing around?" Meowth wonders.
"Likely he's just playing, cause if it is a new dance, it'll never catch on," Jessie says.
"Dat's for sure, but while he's rolling around, let's steal dose Seedot," Meowth says.
"Are you thinking of giving them to the boss?" James asks.
A fantasy scenario begins.
Meowth says, "He'll wake in da morning wit a smile on his face and da Seedot will be dere waiting to help him wit his daily exercise program."
"Does he have a daily exercise program?" James asks.
Meowth continues, "Da Seedot will help him wit his rhythm and motivation, and he'll look at dem fondly and say; 'Meowth and his assistants who caught dese Pokemon for me are a credit to Team Rocket.'"
Fantasy scenario ends.
"I don't know," James says.
"It doesn't matter, let's just catch them anyway!" Jessie says.
"Woooobbu!" (Let's go!) Wobbuffet says.
"How's that, Seedot? Does this feel good?" Prof. Birch asks. He lets out a chuckle, "Roll over!"
Suddenly, a smokescreen appears.
"Oh no! A Haze attack!" Prof. Birch cries out.
The Haze clears to show Team Rocket.
"We'll take those Seedot now," Jessie says.
"You're from that cave yesterday!" Prof. Birch
"Team Rocket!" Everyone exclaims.
Jessie calls out, "Right! Now, go, Seviper!"
Seviper charges.
"Oh, no you don't! Go, Corphish!" Mew calls out.
Corphish comes out.
"Vice Grip attack!" Mew calls out.
Corphish clamps down on Seviper's body
"Okay. Go, Silcoon!" Jessie calls out.
And her Cascoon comes out.
Prof. Birch says, "That's not a Silcoon, you know! It's a Cascoon!"
"What? Cascoon?" Jessie questions. She then shouts, "You might hurt its feelings! I know it's a Silcoon, so don't go calling it anything else!"
James and Meowth just sigh in exasperation.
"Oh, boy," James says.
"Tried telling ya," Meowth says.
And May says, "Let me show you a real Silcoon! Come on out, Silcoon!"
And Silcoon comes out of the Pokeball.
"Yeah? Big deal, they look just alike," Jessie says.
"Uh Jessie, Silcoon and Cascoon may look alike, but there's also some big differences," Mew says.
"Yeah right, and I suppose that thing on your shoulder is a Metapod," Jessie says.
Mew looks at her Spewpa, "It's a Spewpa."
"Mew is right. There's a big difference in their eyes! A Cascoon has bright, clear eyes," Prof. Birch says.
"Yes, you're right, my Silcoon does have nice, bright and clear eyes, thanks. I'm anxious for it to turn into a Beautifly," Jessie says. She then calls out, "Now, Silcoon, Tackle!"
Cascoon charge.
"Silcoon, use Tackle, too!" May says
Silcoon charges and both Pokemon collide, but then, May's Silcoon starts to evolve.
"What's that?" Jen asks.
"It looks like Silcoon is starting to evolve," Brock says.
Silcoon morphs until it grows arms, legs, wings, antenna and a long proboscis before the glow fades to reveal a Beautifly.
Jessie cheers, "Yay! Silcoon evolved into a Beautifly!" and gets out her Pokédex.
Dextette says, "Beautifly, the Butterfly Pokemon. A Bug and Flying Type. Beautifly is the evolved form of Silcoon. It loves sweet nectar and riding the spring breeze from flower to flower."
"What? That twerpette's Silcoon became a Beautifly instead of mine? So maybe my precious Silcoon just needs a little motivation!" Jessie says.
"We've lost her for good this time, Meowth," James says.
"It's a crying shame," Meowth says.
"Alright, I'll show you what my Silcoon can do against your no-good, pathetic Beautifly!" Jessie says and calls out, "Go, Silcoon, String Shot!"
Cascoon's thread fires towards Beautifly.
"Beautifly!" Mew calls out.
However, Spewpa then uses String Shot that counters Cascoon's attack.
"No fair!" Jessie cries out.
"Thanks Spewpa!" May says,
Mew calls out, "Corphish, Crab Hammer!"
The attack lands hard, sending it flying into Seviper's face before they both go flying into Team Rocket.
"Why does my darling Silcoon refuse to evolve into a Beautifly?" Jessie asks.
"Simple, it's a Cascoon!" James shouts.
"Like we've been trying to tell ya, you thick headed numbskull!" Meowth says.
"That's not true!" Jessie cries out.
James and Meowth shout at her, "Is too!"
Team Rocket flies deeper into the woods until they're out of sight.
"Hey, the Seedot look happy now," Max says,
May's new Beautifly lands on her head.
'You know what, May? That's one fine Beautifly," Prof. Birch says.
"Thank you, Professor. My Beautifly's gonna be awesome in Pokemon Contests," May says.
Brock soon remembers, "I almost forgot!" and hands May a box with a Beautifly on it, "May, this is for you. It's a special jelly for Beautifly. I made it myself and saved it for the day your Silcoon evolved."
May takes the jelly, "Wow. You're the greatest, Brock," She then opens the box, "Want to try some, Beautifly?"
Beautifly starts to eat some through its proboscis.
"A word of advice, If you want to do well in Contests, you gotta start working hard on your attacks," Prof. Birch says.
"What attacks can Beautifly use?"
"Beautifly can use Gust now that it's a flying Type," Mew says
"That's right. Then there's Absorb, Stun Spore, Morning Sun, Air Cutter, Mega Drain, Leech Life, Attract, Whirlwind, Giga Drain, Bug Buzz, Protect and Quiver Dance," Max says.
"So, it learns Gust after evolving, huh?" May says and calls out, "Alright. Beautifly, use Gust attack."
Beautifly flies forward and demonstrates its new attack.
"Way to go, Beautifly!" May says.
"Now, let's make things more challenging by using this," Prof. Birch says, and gets out a frisbee and hands it to May.
"Okay," May says, and to Beautifly, "Beautify, we're gonna use Gust to spin this frisbee!" and tosses it.
Beautifly uses Gust to spin the frisbee faster before it falls to the ground.
May picks up the Frisbee, "Not bad, for a first try. Let's go again!" and tosses the frisbee.
Beautifly follows it and uses Gust on it again, this time making it stay up longer before falling.
"Almost! You know, Beautifly, you're getting the hang of it!" May says, and runs off.
The Seedot start clamoring.
"Oh, yeah. We gotta find a new home for you little fellas," Prof. Birch says.
The Seedot happily hop in agreement.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket is hanging onto a branch on a cliff.
Jessie still refuses to believe on her Pokemon's evolution, "I still say you're both wrong about this. One day my Silcoon's gonna turn into a Beautifly and then you'll be sorry! But still, I'm fed up with waiting! If this Silcoon doesn't evolve into a Beautifly in the next thirty seconds, James and Meowth, I'm gonna hold the two of you responsible!"
"It's a Cascoon. Even if it does evolve, it'll just become a Dustox," James says.
"I don't wanna be around when dat happens. Woe is us," Meowth says.
They both soon fantasize Jessie's rage over her Cascoon's inability to evolve into a Beautifly.
Jessie says, "Despite my orders, this Silcoon still hasn't evolved into a Beautifly! This is a scam! I demand satisfaction! I've been telling you all along what I want!" And whacks both with a mallet as the fantasy ends.
"Somewhere along the way, this thing has taken a nasty turn," James says.
Meowth: And we could be in for a nasty bruise," Meowth says.
'What do we do now, Meowth?" James asks.
Jessie angrily demands, "May I ask what's so important over there? We need to get working on implementing our plan to turn my Silcoon into a Beautifly!"
"Our plan?" James questions.
"What exactly is dat plan?" Meowth asks.
"What do you think?! We'll battle it and raise its experience level! Let's go,' Jessie says and grabs Meowth, "Meowth, I choose you."
"You do?" Meowth questions.
Meanwhile, the group is busy helping the Seedot find a new home.
"Any luck yet, Professor Birch?" Mew asks.
The good professor tries to hang one of the Seedot from another tree branch, but to no avail
Prof. Birch picks up the fallen Seedot, "Oh, I'm sorry. Maybe here," and hangs it on another branch.
However, the same result happens as before.
"No good, either,' Brock says.
"It seems that they don't like any of the trees in this forest, so we'll just have to move to another forest,' Prof. Birch says.
'Okay," Everyone agrees.
Meanwhile, Meowth and Cascoon were facing off and Meowth was breathing heavily.
"Here comes Fury Swipes!" Meowth says.
"Now, Silcoon, Tackle!" Jessie says.
Cascoon charges and nails Meowth hard enough to knock it out.
Dazed, Meowth says, "You give up yet?"
"Meowth, unable to battle! Jessie's Cascoon wins!" James says.
"It's a Silcoon," Jessie says.
Sheepish, James says, "Right, I forgot."
'Anyway, that wasn't enough of a battle. Next in line is Cacnea," Jessie says.
Both Pokemon soon stand off.
"Cacnea, Pin Missile, now!" James calls out.
Cacnea fires the attack.
Jessie calls out, "Now, Silcoon, harden!"
Cascoon hardens its body to make the pins bounce right off.
Jessie then calls out, "Silcoon, use Tackle, go!"
Cascoon charges in and nails Cacnea.
Jessie calls out, "One more time! Tackle again!"
Cascoon charges in and nails Cacnea once more.
"Cacnea!" James cries out.
This time, the attack knocks Cacnea out cold.
Meowth announces, "Cacnea is unable to battle! Cascoon is da winnah!"
"It's Silcoon!" Jessie shouts
Meowth sweat drops, "Oh, dat's right. Tank goodness dat's finally ovah."
"What are you talking about? We're just getting started," Jessie says.
Meowth and James look at her in shock.
"No one is to leave here until my Silcoon evolves into a Beautifly," Jessie says.
"Aw, come on, Jess, your Cascoon is…" Meowth says.
But Jessie angrily demands, "What, did you just say?"
Meowth sweat drops, "I mean to say dat your Silcoon is plenty strong."
"Meowth's right. It'll turn into a Dustox," James says.
"What?! Into a Dustox?!" Jessie questions.
James sweat drops, "No! I mean into a Beautifly, anytime soon."
"That's better. But since it's strong, it needs to battle against stronger Pokemon. And the strongest ones I know of, just happen to belong to the twerps," Jessie says.
Meanwhile, Mew and the others continue their search for a new home for the Seedots.
'This place seems pretty good, huh, Professor Birch?" Mew says.
"Let's see," Prof. Birch says.
He picks up one of the Seedot and places it on a branch. This time, the Seedot stays and swings around as happy as can be.
"Hey! I think we found just the spot!" Prof. Birch says.
The other two Seedot start rolling around.
"That's good. This is also a great spot for rolling around on the ground," Prof. Birch says.
Suddenly, they hear Jessie's voice, "Now hear this, twerps!"
Everyone looks up.
"Team Rocket!" Molly calls out.
There they see Team Rocket in their balloon as they perform the motto.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble, I challenge you!
James:
Make it double while I enjoy the view!
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation!
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation!
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie:
Jessie.
James:
James.
Jessie:
Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
James:
Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Meowth! Dat's right!
Jessie then says, "I want to battle you so that my Silcoon can become a Beautifly!"
"She's still thinks that's a Silcoon?" Mew questions, dumbfounded.
"Is she thinsk dumb?" Tomo questions.
Prof. Birch even says, "But that's impossible, it's a Cascoon."
"Let's show em, Silcoon!" Jessie says.
Cascoon is tossed into battle.
"Beautifly, Gust attack!" May calls out.
Beautifly uses the attack and blows Cascoon back.
"May: Good job, Beautifly!" May cheers
"Come on, Silcoon! You've got to do better if you want to be a Beautifly!" Jessie says.
"Cascoon gets back into the fight.
"It's a lost cause," James says.
"What can we do?" Meowth asks.
James then says, "I'll help her out with Cacnea!" and calls out his Cacnea.
However, Cacnea ends up hugging him.
"Ouch! You went the wrong direction!" James cries out.
"Spewpa! Go!" Mew calls out.
Spewpa comes out.
James calls out, "Cacnea, Pin Missile, go!"
Cacnea fires the attack.
"Dodge it!" Mew calls out.
Spewpa dodges.
"Spewpa, use Tackle!" Mew calls out.
Spewpa performs the attack, but Cacnea dodges.
Meanwhile, Meowth sneaks to the Seedots, "I'll just harvest dese Seedot."
But Brock intervenes, "No you don't Meowth! Mudkip, go!"
Mudkip comes out.
"Use Water Gun!" Brock calls out.
Mudkip fires the attack and hits Meowth, forcing him back.
Jessie calls out, "Okay, Silcoon, Tackle!"
Cascoon charges and nails Beautifly
"No! Beautifly!" May cries out.
"May, Beautifly know how to use Tackle, too," Max says.
"Beautifly, Tackle!" May calls out.
"Beautifly charges and hits Cascoon right back.
"Come on, you can do better than that!" Jessie shouts angrily, "I've had it! This is war! Silcoon, Tackle at full power, now!"
Cascoon charges with all its might.
"Beautifly, Gust!" May calls out.
Beautifly manages to fight Cascoon, and right then and there, it starts to evolve.
"Hey, look!" Max says
"Cascoon is evolving!" Prof Birch says.
This makes Jessie happy, "Oh, it's happening! My cute little Silcoon is finally gonna become a Beautifly!"
"Da moment of truth and I can't bare to look," Meowth says, worried.
"If I close my eyes, maybe it'll go away," James says, just as worried.
"This is so exciting! In just a moment, I'll have a Beautifly! That's it my cutey! You're nearly there!" Jessie happily says.
As Cascoon morphs until it grows short antennae, a slim body and wings, a tarp falls onto it, hiding its new form, which turned out to be thanks to James, allowing Meowth to come in in a Beautifly costume, completely baffling everyone.
James sarcastically says, "You were right all along. You are now the proud owner of a Beautifly."
"Like that's gonna fool anyone?" Mew says, bluntly.
May, Jen, and Molly nod their heads.
Jessie sees through the charade, and questions, "Meowth, you mind telling me what you're doing?" as she grabs Meowth.
"I'm a Beautifly. I ain't nevah hoid of Meowth," Meowth says.
Jessie tosses Meowth aside.
Jessie demands, "Uncover that thing right now!"
"It was all Meowth's idea!" James says.
"Move!" Jessie says.
Jessie removes the tarp and unveils a different Pokemon.
Instead of a Beautifly, it's a moth-like Pokémon with two pairs of wings. It has a purple, egg-shaped body with a jagged fringe on its rear. Its tattered, green wings are wide and flat, forming a disc-shape around its body. They have red markings in the form of rings and streaks, a darker green line around the edges, and contain toxic dust. This Pokémon has two pairs of red, stubby legs and yellow, stylized compound eyes. There is a pair of fuzzy, yellow antennae on top of its head.
"Wait! I can't see you! Hey!" Jessie asks.
Dustox gets off her face and Jessie realizes her mistake, "This is... My cute Beautifly? But it looks almost like…"
"Jessie, that's what we've been trying to tell you. You didn't end up with a Beautifly, you ended up with a Dustox," Mew says.
"Mew's right, and you really had a Cascoon, not a Silcoon," Max says.
Mew then brings out her Pokedex and Dextette says, "Dustox, the Toxic Moth Pokemon. A Bug and Poison Type. Dustox is the evolved form of Cascoon and is drawn toward bright light. When flapping its wings, it will scatter a poison dust."
"I didn't get a Beautifly. I got a Dustox," Jessie says.
"Yes. Your Pokemon was a Cascoon. So the only thing that it could've evolved into was a Dustox!" Prof. Birch says.
"That's not possible," Jessie says. I caught a Wurmple, just like the Twerpette. Both of our Wurmple evolved at the same time. But why did hers become a Beautifly, and mine become a Dustox?"
"That is true, they were both Wurmple," James says.
"That's true. However, Wurmple has a Branch Evolution. They say that depending on Wurmple's personality is when they evolve to Cascoon or Silcoon.
"When May's Wurmple evolved it decided to become a Silcoon," Mew says.
"And when your Woimple evolved, it decided to become a Cascoon not a Silcoon," Meowth says.
"So in short, this is, my Dustox?" Jessie asks.
The group nods in response.
Jessie starts straining.
James panics, "Meowth, this is it!
"Hold on to me, James, she's gonna blow!" Meowth cries out.
But Jessie happily says, "I love my Dustox!"
James and Meowth slump in disbelief.
Jessie happily says, "Don't you guys love it, too? How could you not simply adore those ridges on its wings and that perfect little body and those hypnotic eyes that say 'love me!'?" And squeals, "My Dustox is just divine! It's way cuter than that twerpette's Beautifly. How come I didn't listen to anyone before this happened?"
"Do you wanna answer dat question Jimmy, or should I?" Meowth questions.
"Actually, Meowth, some things are just better left unsaid," James says.
Jessie happily says, "My superior Dustox can take on any twerp's useless Beautifly, no problem! Quick, James, tell me what attacks my Dustox can use."
James gets out the card, "Well, let's see. It can do Tackle, Poison Sting and also Psybeam."
"And those are just the first few of attacks," Mew says.
"Pretty darn good range of attacks," Jessie says and calls out, "Dustox, try a Tackle!"
Dustox zooms forward and nails Beautifly.
"Hey, we weren't ready!" May calls out.
"Sorry, but in a Pokemon battle you always have to be ready, and my Dustox seems to be on fire!" Jessie says.
"You are a rotten cheat! But I will not let my Beautifly lose to your Dustox!" May says.
"But my Dustox has the advantage," Jessie says.
"And I plan on winning a lot of Pokemon Contests with my Beautifly," May says.
"Is that so? Well, good luck competing against me and my Dustox," Jessie says.
"Like they'll let you into"Pokemon Contests knowing your criminal history!" Mew angrily says.
"She's right, so maybe we should just battle fair and square,' May says.
"Music to my ears," Jessie says.
"Right!" May says and calls out, "Beautifly, Tackle!"
Beautifly charges and hits Dustox hard
"Dustox, Poison Sting!" Jessie calls out.
Dustox fires the attack.
"Now use Gust!" May calls out.
Beautifly launches the attack and counters the Poison Sting easily, but they blow right towards James and Meowth, prompting them to get out of the way.
"Go, Dustox, use Psybeam!" Jessie calls out.
Dustox fires the attack.
James then calls out, "Cacnea, Pin Missile!"
Cacnea fires the attack
Prof. Birch shouts, "Two on one is unfair!"
"Then let's even it out!" Mew calls out, "Spewpa, use Protect!"
Spewpa uses the attack and Deflect the attack.
"Not the right target, but I knew Dustox wouldn't let me down!" Jessie says.
"Thanks Mew," May says.
"No problem," Mew says.
Suddenly, Spewpa begins running around like crazy, getting restless.
"Spewpa, what's up?" Mew asks.
Soon, Spewpa stops running, and soon begins to glow.
"Spewpa!" Mew says, surprised.
"Spewpa is evolving!" Brock says.
Spewpa changes as it begins to grow legs, arms, antennas and wings. Now Spewpa is a butterfly-like Pokémon. It has a round, grayish head with large, black, pixelated eyes and a pair of skinny antennae. The tips of the antennae each have an ovoid scale that is dark gray on the upper half and beige on the lower half. Its thorax is an ovoid and divided into three segments; each segment is a different shade of gray. Its legs are also ovoid and are dark gray on the lower half, beige on the upper half, and have a black band in the middle. It has two black, circular hands and no visible arms. The Pokemon's wings are surrounded by a pretty pink scene, and on the edge of the wings have a green meadow pattern. The outer rim of the wings have purple, red, and white flowers, and the specks of white on the bottom. It's like a meadow of flowers.
black edges and pixelated markings.
"Spewpa evolved into Vivillon," Mew says.
Mew takes out her Pokedex and Dexttete says, "Vivillon, the Scale Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Scatterbug. A Bug and Flying Type. Vivillon with many different patterns are found all over the world. These patterns are affected by the climate of their habitat. It scatters colorful scales. This form is a Fancy Pattern, and is from a mysterious land."
"Alright Vivillon," Mew says.
"And its patterns are beautiful," May says.
"Yes. This Vivillon has a Fancy Pattern, it's rare to see one here," Prof. Birch says.
Suddenly, James calls out, "Pin Missile again, Cacnea!"
Cacnea fires the attack.
Mew calls out, "Vivillon, dodge!
Vivillon flies and dodge the attack.
Jessie calls out, "Go, Dustox, use Poison Sting!"
Duxtox fires the attack.
"Dodge that!" May calls out.
Beautifly flies upward to do so.
Then May calls out, "Beautifly, use Tackle!"
Beautifly charges and nails Dustox hard enough to send it flying into Jessie.
"Vivillon, use Psybeam!" Mew calls out.
Vivillon fires and nails Cacnea hard enough to send it flying into James and Meowth before they all hit the basket of their balloon.
Mee then calls out, "Pikachu! Eevee! Double Thunderbolt!"
Pikchu and Eevee perform the attack, hitting the burner on the balloon, destroying it and sending Team Rocket flying.
"Good job, Dustox. I couldn't have asked for a better Pokemon," Jessie says.
"Dustox." (Thank you.) Dustox replies.
"See, Meowth? This is what they mean by ignorance is bliss," James says.
'Yeah," Meowth agrees.
"We're blasting off again!" James and Meowth call out.
"Really? I hadn't noticed," Jessie says.
Later that evening, Professor Birch takes a handful of soil.
Prof. Birch says, "Ah. The soil here appears to be nutrient-rich. And the Seedot sure look happy in that tree."
The Seedot happily swaying back and forth.
"So the Seedot finally got a new place to live," Tomo says.
Skwovet and Meloetta agree.
"And they're really happy," Max says.
"And I'm happy that my Silcoon evolved into a Beautifly. What a great day," May says.
"You're right, and my Spewpa evolved into a Vivillon," Mew says," Even though we didn't have much training, Spewpa managed to get stronger and evolve."
Vivillon agrees.
"Besides, we can make up for it tomorrow," Brock says.
"Good idea," Mew says.
Prof. Birch walks forward, "Guess this is goodbye. Time to go back to Littleroot Town. I can't leave my assistant to do all my research for me."
"Bye, Professor," Mew says.
'So long," May and Molly say.
Prof. Birch says, "Mew, keep up your training, and take care of Vivillon. And May, take care of that Beautifly. It's a winner."
"Okay! Bye!" May and Mew say.
"So long, Professor Birch," Brock says.
"See ya later!" Max says.
Mew and the others say their goodbyes to Professor Birch
Now that her Silcoon has evolved into a Beautifly, May can't wait to enter her first Pokemon Contest. Same with Mew who's Spewpa has evolved into a Vivillon. But, as they say goodbye to Professor Birch, the only thing on Mew and May's mind is getting ready for their next part of their journey and more training.
