Episode 34: Now That's Flower Power!
Mew and her friends have arrived at Slateport City, their first step is the Pokemon Center, where Mew and May along with their Pokemon along with other trainers, gathered to register for the entry into the Pokémon Contest.
In the Pokemon Center, there are several Coordinators who are already preparing their Pokémon for the Contest.
"Everyone is so psyched!" Tomo says.
"Including me and Mew. Remember, there are at least just two weeks until the Pokémon Contest opens," May says.
"Right, so it makes sense that everyone came early to get in some practice," Brock says.
"They all look really good," Max says.
Then turns to the girls, "May, Mew, are you two ready for this?
"He's right, two weeks isn't that much time, you know," Mew says.
"No problemo!" May says with confidence.
But then says, "Although, some practice couldn't hurt."
"I think it's a good idea. Let's go to the beach and get some practice," Mew says.
"Good idea," May says.
Later, the gang are on the beach, waiting for the girls to arrive.
"Just how I imagined it. Slateport City's got beautiful beaches! Not to mention all the beautiful girls!" Brock happily says.
"Yeah, who cares?" Max says.
"Yeah! Let's swim!" Tomo says.
"First thing's first, me and Mew are gonna do a little practicing," May says.
"I agree," Mew says.
"First up, my stunning preliminary performance!" May says, and runs ahead a bit before stopping and getting out a Pokéball, "Watch and learn! Beautifly, the spotlight is on you! Go!" as she spins around as she calls Beautifly out before stopping to throw the Pokéball.
Beautifly comes out with its wings glistening.
"Wow, that's pretty good," Mew says.
"A nice opening," Jen says.
"Good job, May!" Max says.
May soon starts wobbling while still on her right foot.
"Check it out, she's really planted that pose," Jen says.
"I might've spent, too much," May says, and turns around to reveal that she had gotten dizzy, "Time on my spin."
Everyone's sweat drops.
"Oh, boy," Max replies.
After a little bit, May's dizziness wore off.
Mew then brings out the frisbee, "Here's the frisbees, May."
"Thanks," May says, and takes the frisbees.
May throws the frisbees as she shouts, "Beautifly, use Gust!"
Beautifly does so, but it inadvertently creates a huge sandstorm that blows everyone and everything on the beach into a heap.
Max pops his head out of the sand and coughs, "Guess this isn't the right place for that."
May pops her head out of the sand, "You're probably right."
The group then heads to a more isolated part of the shore.
"This will be much better," Brock says.
"So, what's up next, May?" Mew asks.
"Only the very best of the best," May says.
Then turns to Beautifly, "Okay, Beautifly, the pressure's on now. Beautifly, Silver Wind, now!"
Beautifly then performs the move, but it stops after a couple seconds.
May slumps down, "Ohhhh, no, not again! We keep messing that one up."
"You might not want to use that move in the contest, May," Max suggests
"If we only could master Silver Wind to the point where we could use it in the Contest, then it would just blow everyone away, I know it!" May says.
"Well, that's true," Brock says.
"Well, the best way to do that is to keep practicing," Mew says, and brings out two of her Pokeballs, "And I think you can also use a little help as well."
Mew then throws two of her Pokeballs as she calls out, "Beautifly! Azumarill, I choose you!"
Soon, Beautifly and Azumarill both come out.
"Wow. You got a Beautifly, too?" May replies, amazed
"Sure do. Beauitfly can help your Beautifly use Silver Wind," Mew says.
"Thanks," May says.
Then asks, "By the way, are you planning on using Azumarill for your performance."
"Well she's one of my choices, but I can't decide," Mew says.
"I'm sure you'll figure it out," May says.
She then says, "So, Beautifly, one more time from the top!"
'May's Beautifly agrees.
Mew turns to her Beauitfly, "Ready to help?"
Mew's Beautifly nods.
May says, "Here goes!"
Soon, Mew and May both throw frisbees to their Beautifly.
May and Mew call out, "Beautifly, Gust again!"
Both Beautifly manage to blow them up into the air, more gently than last time. May and Mew manage to gracefully catch the first two.
"Yeah! That's cool!" Max says.
Mew mananges to grab her third one, but the other third one flies over her head.
May partly notices as she sheepishly says, "I know."
The group turns around and sees the frisbee flying right toward a boy that was watching from the promenade. The boy has green hair, green eyes, wears a dark shirt with a purple jacket, and light green pants.
"Look out!" May cries out.
However, the boy manages to catch the frisbee easily
"I'm so sorry!" May says
The boy twirls the frisbee, "Please don't tell me that you're planning on entering the Pokémon Contest with a cheesy act like that!" and throws the frisbee at May's feet and jumps down before walking towards her, "You've got no finesse, no moves."
"HEY! WHO ARE YOU TO TELL ME THAT?!" May shouts.
"If you must know, I'm Drew. Pokémon Coordinator," The boy introduces himself.
Some of the others approach.
"Really?" Mew asks.
"Like you and Me… I mean Ashley, May?" Molly questions.
"Please, no comparisons," Drew says, then turns to May, "You see, you and your Pokémon here, you've got no style," Then turns to see Mew, "Unlike your friend here with the Eevee."
This makes May angry, "HEY! YOU CAN MAKE FUN OF ME ALL YOU WANT BUT DON'T YOU DARE MAKE FUN OF MY POKÉMON!"
Drew just holds up his hand and casually pushes her back, "Whoa, just calm down, little girl."
May tries to rush at him, but Drew keeps her back.
"May, don't listen to what he says," Max says.
"Yeah, why don't you show us all of your great Pokémon?" Tomo adds.
"Why? What good would that do? I can see you're in a traveling group, so I suggest you and your party be on your way," Drew says.
"Why should we?" Max asks.
Drew then points to the building behind him, "This is a private beach reserved for people like me staying at that resort."
"Sorry about that," Jen says.
"Come on, let's get out of here,' Mew says.
"Yeah," Brock says.
"Agreed," Max and Molly reply.
Everyone turns to leave
But May turns to Drew, "I guess you're entering the Pokémon Contest, too?"
Drew chuckles, "Brilliant guess, genius."
The two then glare daggers at each other while Drew chuckles.
But little do any of them know that James and Meowth were spying on them, specifically on May and Drew.
"Oooh, look at dat. Da beach I mean, not dose twerps," Meowth says.
"I could sure use some beach time," James says.
"Woooobbuffet!" (We all could!) Wobbuffet says.
Soon, Jessie says, "Quit slacking off!"
The three turn to see Jessie instructing her Dustox
"Good, now hold that pose," Jessie says.
James and Meowth approach
James asks, "What are you doing over here, Jess?"
"What do you think I'm doing? We're training for the contest," Jessie answers.
"The Pokémon Contest?!" James questions.
"You mean dat stuff about entering wasn't just a joke?" Meowth asks.
"Of course not. The combination of Dustox's smooth moves," Jessie answers and gets fire in her eyes, "And my beauty will win this contest hands down! We'll be simply Dustoxic! Dustox, Poison Sting!"
Dustox fires the attack to Jessie's applause.
Jessie cheers, "Bravo! Now show these two how stunning you are!"
However, Dustox points itself vertically and ends up sending Poison Sting stingers at Team Rocket, forcing them to run for cover.
"That's a bit too stunning!" Team Rocket cries out.
Wobbuffet follows behind with Poison Sting stingers in its back and the back of its head.
"Wooobbu! Wobbu Wobbu!" (I am not a pincushion!) Wobbuffet cries out.
Meanwhile, Ash and May were about to have a battle)
Brock announces, "Okay, this mock-Contest battle will now get underway!"
May is of course using her Beautifly and Mew is using her Azumarill.
Brock calls out, "And, begin!"
May calls out, "Okay, Beautifly, Tackle, now!"
Beautifly soars into the sky with a trail of sparkles following behind.
"Alright, May! That's the way to go!" May says.
Beautifly gracefully twirls as it approaches Azumarill.
"Azumarill, dodge!" Mew calls out.
Azumarill does just that, much to May's dismay.
"Bubble Beam!" Mew calls out.
Azumarill fires the attack.
May calls out, "Quick, dodge it, Beautifly!"
Beautifly does so with a twirl.
"Wow, great dodge!" Max says.
"String Shot, Beautifly, now!" May calls out.
Beautifly straightens out its proboscis and shoots out a long strand of glittering string at Azumarill.
"Azumarill, use Aqua Tail to spin the thread!" Mew calls out.
Azumarill turns around and uses Aqua Tail at the String Shot, the attack catches its tail, but it also spiral against the Aqua Tail
"That String Shot attack worked out better than I thought," Max says.
"But that Aqua Tail was really unexpected," May says.
May is surprised, "What?! No way! Now what am I gonna do?"
Then she has an idea, "I know! Beautifly, use Gust!"
That causes Azumarill to lose her concentration and the large String Shot lands right on top of her and tangles her.
"Wow! Talk about a lucky break!" May happily says.
"Way to go, Beautifly!" Max cheers.
"Azumarill, are you alright?"
Right on cue, Azumarill tries to stand, but can't manage to do so due to its entanglement.
"Can you get out?" Mew asks.
Azumarill tries to do so.
"I gotta hurry and think of something before Taillow gets free!" May panics, and thinks of something.
Then May have an idea, "Okay. Beautifly, use Silver Wind!"
Beautifly begins launching the attack, but it fades away just as quickly.
"Uh, oh," May says, worried.
Soon, Mew is able to get herself untangled.
"Great work, Azumarill!" Mew says.
She then calls out, "Use Bubble Beam!"
Then Azumarill uses the Bubble Beam for the attack.
"Now Aqua Ring!" Mew calls out.
Azumarill then performs Aqua Tail catching the Bubble Beam. Then both attacks combined towards Beautifly.
"You're okay, Beautifly! Just dodge it, hurry!" May calls out.
However, the attack lands hard.
"My Beautifly!" May cries out, rushes forward to catch Beautifly with Max alongside.
"This match is over!" Brock says.
Mew kneels to Azumarill, "Azumarill, you were great."
Azumarill happily accepts the compliment.
May soon checks her Beautifly, "I'm sorry, are you okay?"
Beautifly confirms that it is.
"Well, that's a relief," May says.
Suddenly, someone says, "Wow, excellent work!"
Everyone sees a stranger walk into view.
"A most impressive attack," The stranger says.
"Aw, I don't know about that.
But it turns out that the stranger was referring to Mew.
The stranger asks, "You are entering the Pokémon Contest on the thirtieth, correct?"
Everyone just sweat drops.
"I am to be honest," Mew says.
Soon, May comes in, "Yes, but I am too. This will be Mew's second time, an this'll be my first Pokémon Contest ever."
"Say, is that right? I can still remember how completely nervous I was for my first Pokémon Contest," The man says.
"Wow, you were?" May asks.
The man says, "Oh, yes. I couldn't begin to count the many Contests I participated in as a coordinator."
"Awesome! You're a real former coordinator!" May says.
Then the man says, "The name's Hanabi, short for Hanabishi. But you can call me as I was as a coordinator, Mr. Big."
Then May says, "Nice to meet you, Big. My name is May."
"I'm Ashley," Mew says.
"My name's Brock," Brock says.
"I'm Jen," Jen says.
"And I'm Molly," Molly says.
"I'm Max," Max says, "Hey, have you ever won any contests before, Mr. Big? Have you? Huh?"
Mr. Big chuckles, "I've got three ribbons to prove it, son."
May becomes eager, "That's awesome! Please sir, you gotta teach me everything! You know, the works! How not to lose, how to win! What to think, to say, what to feel, to be…"
Mr. Big quickly says, "Now. Now. Now. Please, settle down."
"Yes, sir," May says.
"First of all, the most important skill a Pokémon Coordinator can have is staying calm," Mr. Big says.
"Staying calm? Really?" May asks.
"Of course," Mr. Big says, "When a coordinator is feeling nervous, the Pokémon can sense it and that can end up as a failed attack plan."
"Come to think of it, I did rush that Silver Wind attack because I was scared. Wow," May says.
Mr. Big then says, "A coordinator should always maintain their poise no matter what's happening around them."
"So keeping a level head should be a coordinator's first priority?" Brock says.
Mr. Big: That's correct," Mr. Big says.
As Brock and Mr. Big talk, the other Pokémon lie in the shade, snoozing, until Torchic wakes up. It then spots a warehouse and heads over to investigate, soon catching the smell of something appealing before heading inside.
The group of friends continues talking.
Mr. Big continues, "One more thing. There's more to becoming a great coordinator than just doing lots of training, it's also important that you watch what your Pokémon eat as well."
"Really? Their diet?" May asks.
"That's right," Mr. Big says, and pulls something out of his pocket, "Take this for example."
"A Pokéblock Case!" May says, confused.
"You know that Pokéblock is good for Pokémon, right?" Mr. Big asks.
"Yeah," May says.
And Mr. Big hands her the case, "Well, here's a little gift for you."
"Wow! This is great!" May says and takes the case. Then show it to the others, "Look what I got!"
"You're so lucky!" Max happily says.
"You know, I've got something else pretty great back at my shop. Come on, I'll show you," Mr. Big says.
"Sure!" May says.
As everyone goes their separate ways, for now, Team Rocket spies on them.
"What could he have that's so great?" Jessie asks.
"I am a bit curious," James says.
"We could follow em and maybe find out," Meowth says.
"Yeah," Jessie and James happily say.
"Wobbuuuu Wobbu!" (Then leeeet's do it!) Wobbuffet says.
Back to Mew and the others.
"Wow! So your job is making fireworks, Mr. Big?" Mew happily says.
"That's right. And summer is my busiest season, thanks to all the summer festivals. Now I'm working on Pokemon fireworks," Mr. Big says.
"What are they?" Everyone asks.
A fantasy begins where several Pokémon fireworks go up into the sky and explode.
Mr. Big explains, "Imagine that you're at a summer festival and the fireworks display begins. Well, the Pokemon fireworks are like normal fireworks, but with a twist. After they zoom up into the sky, they explode into beautiful pictures of Pokemon."
Fantasy ends.
"No way! That sounds so cool!" May happily says.
"Yes, but I'm just not getting the colors right. And to make matters worse, I have to show some samples to the festival chairman by tonight," Mr. Big says.
"Why tonight?" Molly asks.
"Because the summer festival is coming up soon and the chairman wants a rehearsal before August gets here, that's when the big Hoenn summer festival is," Mr. Big says.
Soon, Torchic backs out of the door, to the confusion of everyone.
"Torchic, are you okay?" May asks.
Torchic turns and everyone sees its face covered with a purple-ish black liquid, shocking everyone.
"What happened?!" May asks, worried.
"Its mouth's all black!" Tomo says, shocked.
"Black mouth?" Mew questions, but becomes very worried, "Uh oh!"
Mr. Big says, shocked, "No! It can't be!"
Inside the storeroom, everyone watches as Mr. Big investigates what caused the incident.
"Is everything okay?' Tomo asks.
"What happened?" Jen asks.
"I left a bunch of Bluk berries in here," Mr. Big says.
"Bluk berries?" May asks.
"I knew it," Mew says.
"So that's it," Brock says. Then brings out a book about berries and finds the page about Bluk berries, "It says here that eating Bluk berries will stain your mouth black."
"Oh, no! I guess Torchic ate them," May says.
"Don't worry, May, they're good for Pokémon," Mr. Big says, "They help make their hair shiny. I was planning on giving some Bluk berries to all of you."
But then says, "But now I'm really in a bind. Bluk berries help give my fireworks an amazing hue. I was planning on mixing them in for tonight's samples," He then sighs, "But, sadly, it appears they've all been eaten."
"I'm sorry," May cries out and pushes Torchic to the ground, "Say you're sorry, Torchic! Those were not yours to eat!"
But Mr. Big says, "Wait! It's really not Torchic's fault! I'm the one who shouldn't have left the storeroom door open!"
"But, now what? You still gotta show your fireworks tonight, right?" Mew asks.
"I know. I guess I'll have to do it without adding Bluk berries into them," Mr. Big says.
But May gets up and says, "Mr. Big, I'll go find you some Bluk berries!"
"You will?" Mr. Big asks.
"Yes, now when's the latest I can get them to you!" May says.
"Before dark. But, finding them's not gonna be easy, you know," Mr. Big says.
But May reassures, "Don't you worry! I'll find them! Come on, Torchic, let's go get those berries!"
Little do any of them know that Team Rocket was eavesdropping and heard everything.
"Well, well. So Bluk berries are good for a Pokémon's hair?" Jessie says
"Okay, let's bag a bunch of dose berries and bring em back to headquarters!" Meowth sats
"Why would we do that if they only make a Pokémon's hair shiny?" James asks.
But Meowth says, "Say dat da boss is going into town and he wants dat Poisian of his to look its best."
A fantasy scenario that fits that very description begins.
Meowth explains, "However, da Poisian might be having a bad hair day if its fur is all scraggly. That's when he decides to give it a bowl of Bluk berry juice. It goes down the hatch, and before you know it, that Poisian's hair sets poifectly and has a sheen like nevah before! Then you know what he says? 'For bringing my Poisian dis gift, Meowth and friends are an example for all of Team Rocket!' Yay!"
Fantasy ends.
"It'll be our final rung on the ladder to success!" James happily says.
But James realizes, "Wait, won't that juice leave the teeth and mouth of anyone who drinks it about as black as a moonless night in winter?"
Meowth realizes that James is right, "Ah, quit being a worrywart."
But then Jessie has an idea, "I plan on using those berries for my dear Dustox, they'll work wonders on its wings and body and give both a little razzle-dazzle."
"Wobbuuuuffet!" (Then let's find some!) Wobbuffet says
"Wobbuuuuffet!" Team Rocket cries out.
Meanwhile, the gang is out in the woods looking for Bluk Berries.
"Mew, how did it go?" May asks.
"No good," Mew answers.
Brock runs up, "Nothing."
The rest of the gang shows up.
"We didn't find any either," Jen says.
"We looked all over," Tomo says.
"Yeah. Hunting for Bluk berries isn't so easy after all," Max says.
Then Molly asks, "Where's Torchic, May?"
May becomes shocked and worried, "I don't know!"
May calls out, "Hey, Torchic! Where are you?!"
"Torchic, come on out!" Jen and Molly call out.
They soon hear Torchic chirping.
"Hey. Did you guys hear that?" May says.
Meanwhile, Torchic looks up a rocky cliff and finds a Bluk berry bush growing. Torchic tries to run up the side of the rocky wall, but ends up rolling backwards. It tries again, but rolls back down again, this time bumping its head against a rock. Torchic tries for a third time, and this time jumps up to grab the branch the lone bushel of berries is on with its beak. That's when our heroes show up to find Torchic stranded. Soon, Mew and the others arrive.
"Hey, look!" Tomo says.
"Alright! Torchic found some Bluk berries!" Brock says.
"Good job, Torchic!" May says.
Suddenly, the branch ends up breaking off the bush and both Torchic and the berries fall.
"Beautifly, use String Shot, now!" May calls out.
Beautifly launches a strand of silk and manages to grab Torchic in time before handing it to May.
"Are you okay, Torchic?" May asks.
Suddenly, they hear a familiar voice, "Hmm. That last attack had some real art to it."
Everyone looks up and sees Drew with the Bluk Berry branch
"Thank you," May says.
"Hey Drew, how about you pass us those berries here! Torchic found them first so they're his!" Mew calls out.
"Yeah, those Bluk berries belong to Torchic! Give em back!" May calls out.
"Alright. All you have to do is battle with me, first," Drew says.
"A battle with you?" Mew questions.
"No way!" May refuses.
"Why not? Afraid you're gonna embarrass yourself again?" Drew questions with confidence.
This makes May mad and says, "Fine, I accept!"
"Good. Smart move," Drew says.
Mew whispers to May, "Hey May, are you sure about this? We need to get the berries back to Mr. Big."
"I know, but what choice do I have," May says. Then smiles, "Don't worry, I'll be fine.
As everyone watches and waits for the battle to start, Team Rocket peeks up behind some bushes.
"This couldn't have worked out better if we had planned it," Jessie says.
"If we had planned it, it wouldn't have worked out at all," James adds.
"While dose two battle deir brains out, we bag dat bushel of berries," Meowth says.
"Woooobbuffet!" (Brilliant!) Wobbuffet says.
Soon, the berries are set on a rock as the prize for the winner.
"Okay, this mock-Contest will now be underway!" Brock calls out.
"Yeah, you can do it, May!" Mew calls out.
"Go show him!" Max says.
"Thanks, I will," May says.
Brock then announces, "Begin!"
"Beautifly," May calls out as she spins, "The stage is yours!" and throws the Pokéball.
Beautifly comes out as sparkles come down from its wings.
Drew chuckles and calls out.
Drew chuckles and calls out his Pokemon, "Roselia, go!"
And with that, his Roselia comes out and flies into the air with sparkles coming from its red and blue rose hands.
Roselia is a small, light green bipedal Pokémon. It has three thorns on top of its head, and it has black eyes with long eyelashes. Visible from the back is a small stretch of yellow coloration around its neck much like a collar. There are leaves extending from its shoulders like epaulettes. It has a leaf skirt with a yellow stripe running down the front. It holds a rose in each of its hands, a red one in its right, and a blue one in its left.
"A Roselia?" Max replies.
"What's that?" Molly asks.
"It's a Roselia," Mew says and gets out her Pokedex.
Dextette says, "Roselia, the Thorn Pokémon. A Grass and Poison Type. Roselia's aroma can bring serenity, but the thorns on its head contain a vicious poison."
"What a cool Pokémon!" Max says.
"And it's easy to tell that it's well looked after," Mew says
Soon, Drew says, "Your praise doesn't even come close to describing the artistic style of my Pokémon."
"I'm not losing to you,' May says.
"Then, please, ladies first," Drew says.
May calls out the attack, "Beautifly, Tackle, now!"
Beautifly charges in, leaving a sparkly trail behind it.
Drew calls out, "Roselia, use Petal Dance."
Roselia leaps, spins around rapidly and sends out a cyclone of petals.
"Petal Dance?" Molly says, surprised.
Beautifly is quickly bombarded by the petal cyclone.
"Beautifly!" May cries out.
"That Petal Dance looks super powerful!" Max says.
The attack dissipates and Beautifly is left wobbly while in mid-air.
Then Drew calls out, "Stun Spore, Roselia!"
Roselia fires the attack from its rose hands, quickly taking effect and sending Beautifly to the ground.
"Beautifly, are you alright?" May calls out.
"Ho-hum. That was easy. I expected a lot more from you then that," Drew says.
May calls out, "Beautifly, you gotta get up, now!"
But Beautifly couldn't.
"Beautifly, please!" May calls out.
Then Drew calls out the next attack, "Roselia, finish is off with Magical Leaf."
Roselia starts to spin faster and faster like a top.
"Please, Beautifly! Wake up!" May calls out.
Beautifly finally starts to come around.
Mew calls out, "Remember what Mr. Big taught you about keeping your cool, May!
"You gotta try and stay calm!" Max calls out.
"You're right," May says. Then concentrates her thoughts, "Calm down. Just think about this, and stay calm."
Roselia finally stops and its blue rose hand starts to glow brightly before the attack is fired.
May then calls out, "Silver Wind, Beautifly, let's go!"
Beautifly takes to the air and performs the move, this time flawlessly, managing to counter Roselia's Magical Leaf.
"No way!" Drew cries out.
Snowbelle: Meowstic! ("Beautifly did it!")
The powerful wind managed to blow Roselia away.
"No! Roselia!" DRew cries out.
May cheers, "Awesome, Beautifly!"
Mew and the others cheer, "Way to go, May!"
Even the Pokemon cheers.
"That's it! That's the way to earn serious points!" Brock says.
Soon, Brock notices the prize berries being pulled away, and cries out, "What's going on?!"
Team Rocket's balloon soon floats into view with Team Rocket on top, and they perform their motto.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble as we reel them in.
James:
Make it double, we win!
Brock sweat drops and says, "You again?"
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation.
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation!
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above!
Jessie:
Jessie.
James:
James.
Jessie:
Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!
James:
Surrender now or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Meowth! Dat's right!
Wobbuffet:
Woooobbuffet! (End of scene!)
Team Rocket!" Everyone cries out.
May demands, "Give those berries back!"
"Oh, sure, we'll give these Bluk berries right back to you after everything we've been through to get them," Jessie sarcastically says, "Heh! Sorry, tough luck!"
"Yeah, look like the Bluk's on our side!" James says.
"So now it's goodbye, and good bluk!" Meowth adds.
"Woooobbuffet!" (Sayonara!) Wobbuffet calls out.
"Ger back here, Team Rocket!" Mew calls out.
Everyone rushes after Team Rocket except for May, who looks back at Drew.
She says to him, "This battle is over. You heard what Ben said, we know someone who needs those Bluk berries to make some fireworks!" and runs off.
Drew just stands there, slightly disappointed that the battle ended before he could make a comeback.
"Now it's off to Kanto to show the boss our Bluk berries! Promotion, here we come!" Team Rocket calls out.
"Woooobbuffet!" (And bonuses!) Wobbuffet calls out.
Soon, Mew calls out, "Pikachu! Eevee! Thunderbolt em!"
They both launch the attack, but instead of hitting the balloon, it hits something on the underside that cancels it out.
"Oh no!" Mew cries out.
Meowth laughs, "Zap all you want, but your bolts ain't hoiting us wit' our Zap Pack Mark 2!"
"I'm not giving up! Thunderbolt, again!" Mew calls out.
They both fire the attack, but with the same result.
"Nothing!" Team Rocket calls out.
Suddenly Drew's voice appears, "Solar Beam, go!"
The attack fires and destroys the machine.
Team Rocket screams in despair, "Not our Zap Pack Mark 2!"
"Whose Solar Beam was that?" May asks.
Mew and May turn to see Drew and Roselia.
"It was you?" May asks.
"Not sure what's going on, but happy to assist!" Drew says.
Then Mew calls out, "Alright, Pikachu, Eevee, Thunderbolt em again!"
They both fire the attack.
"Roselia, Solar Beam!" Drew calls out.
All three Pokemon fire the attack, hit and destroy the balloon, sending Team Rocket flying.
We're blasting off again!" Team Rocket cries out.
However, everyone notices the Bluk berries falling.
"Oh no!" Everyone cries out.
"The Bluk berries!" Mew says, shocked.
Torchic rushes forward and catches them, but ends up falling down a cliff.
May then calls out, "Beautifly, use String Shot!"
Beautifly launches a long strand of silk and catches Torchic once more and brings it back into its trainers arms.
"My little Torchic!" May happily says and nuzzles Torchic, "Oh, I'm so proud of you."
"You were great too, Roselia," Mew says, and calls it back.
May says to Drew, "Thanks for helping us, Drew."
"No need to thank me," Drew says, "You know what? We'll battle in a real Contest. That is, assuming you can make your way through the preliminary round first," And takes his leave.
"Count on it, mister,' May says with confidence.
Later, as night was setting in, our heroes were waiting for Mr. Big's fireworks to start with the summer festival chairman also present.
On the radio, someone says, "Okay, we're ready to go!"
"Alright, let her rip!" Mr. Big says.
One of the fireworks launches and forms the shape of a Pikachu upon exploding.
"Pikachu, look!" Mew says.
"Pikachu!" (That looks like me!) Pikachu says.
"Beautiful!" May says.
The chairman says, "A fine presentation, young man."
"Thank you very much," Mr. Big says.
Soon, more fireworks go up. One of them forms a Pichu, and another forms a Torchic.
"Cool, a Pichu!" Max says.
"Awesome," Tomo says.
"It's a Torchic like you!" May happily says.
Another explodes and forms a Mudkip.
"Hey, a Mudkip!" Brock says.
Another forms a Treecko
"Check out the Treecko!" Molly says.
Elsewhere, Drew is watching the show with Roselia.
Mew and the others gaze up at a sky decorated with beautiful Pokémon fireworks, Mew and May are more determined than ever to do their best in the upcoming Pokémon Contest.
