Episode 37: The Spheal of Approval
With the Slateport City Pokemon Contest behind them, Mew and her friends are now exploring the city.
May is very excited, "Cute clothes, stylish accessories and gourmet meals? We can't leave without shopping at the Slateport market."
"Well, my vote goes to visiting the Slateport City Marine Museum. That's gotta be the coolest place to go with all those rare exhibits," Max says.
"Either way, let's just have fun, now that the Pokémon Contest is over," May says.
"Sounds good," Mew says.
Mew then turns to Pikaxhu and Eevee, "Hey guys, what do you think about spending the day at a cool museum, huh?"
"Pika Pika!" (Sounds exciting!) Pikachu says.
"Eevee!" (And cool) Eevee says.
"You know, I think I should do some shopping. There are a lot of things we'll need until we reach Mauville," Brock says.
"I guess we'll split up then," Mew says.
"In that case, I think I'll tag along with Brock," May says.
"I like to go see the museum," Tomo says.
Skwovet and Meloetta agree.
"Amaura and I would like to go too," Jens says.
"Amaura," (I would love to see it) Amaura says.
"Me too," Molly says.
"Well then it's settled. I'll take the kids to the museum while you two go shopping for supplies," Mew says.
"Good idea. We'll meet up with you at the museum as soon as we're done," Brock says.
"Kay. See ya!" Max says.
Then the group separates to go to the museum.
However, upon arriving, the gang discovers that the museum is closed.
"No way!' Max says.
"Oh no," Molly says.
"It can't be closed!" Tomo says.
"This is just weird. It's supposed to be open every day," Mew says, holding the guidebook.
"Well, I'm not ready to give up yet!" Max says, and runs off.
"Max! Hey, wait! We're supposed to stick together," Mew calls out.
Max is soon seen trying to sneak in by climbing up on the guardrail.
"I'll see this museum if it's the last thing I do!" Max says.
Jen walks over, "Max, get down from there! You're going to get hurt! And you can't sneak into a museum!"
Suddenly, someone calls out, "Hey, kid! You should listen to your friend!"
The sudden shout causes Max to fall from the ledge.
"Ow," Max yelps.
Another young boy approaches Max. The boy seems to be a little older than max. He wears a white tank top, greenish blue shorts, and dark blue sandals. He's also wearing a straw hat.
"Kid! What were you doing climbing the wall?!" The boy firmly demands.
Max gets up, "Uh.. I was... You see... I was…"
But the boy interrupts, "Save your breath! It's obvious you want to steal the museum's stuff that's on display, making you a thief!"
"No, not true! I'm not a thief!" Max cries out.
"He's right! There's a misunderstanding!" Jen says.
"Max! Jen!" Mew calls out as she rushes to them, "What's the matter?"
With Molly and Tomo behind them.
"Oh, hi, guys." Max
"So, you all thieves too?" The boy interrogates.
"Thieves?!" Tomo and Molly say, shocked.
"Hold on, we're not thieves," Mew says.
But the boy refuses to listen, "Save it! I'll show you all!" and brings out his Pokeball, "Okay, Spheal, let's go!"
With that, Spheal is let out of the Pokeball and happily claps.
"Hey, it's a Spheal!" Max says.
"It's really cute," Molly says.
Mew brings out her Pokedex and Dextette says, "Spheal, the Clap Pokémon. A Water and Ice Type. Spheal moves more quickly by rolling than by walking. They are sometimes known to cross oceans atop icebergs."
Then the boy says, "Okay, ready, Spheal? Fire your Water Gun at those criminals, now!"
Spheal just claps instead, causing the kid to sweat drop.
The boy calls out, "I didn't say clap! Stop applauding and use Water Gun!"
Spheal turns around and does so right at the kid's face.
"Uh, guys? What's he doing?" Jen says.
"I have no clue," Max says.
Spheal claps again.
"Fine! Body Slam, right now!" The boy says.
Spheal then charges for the attack, but the group moves out of the way in time while Spheal bounces off the wall and lands onto its trainer.
"Not good, Spheal! That's wrong again!" The boy cries out.
"I think those two may need a little more practice," Tomo says.
"I think this boy's a new trainer," Mew says.
The Pokemon agree.
Finally getting Spheal off, the boy shouts, "I've had it! Now, Spheal, use Blizzard attack!"
Spheal agrees.
But Mew says, "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt."
Pikachu agrees as the Blizzard is launched, but his Thunderbolt lands and easily overpowers the Blizzard before nailing Spheal and knocking it out.
This shocked the boy, "Hey! What's going on?!" and runs up to Spheal, "No way! There's no way in the world my Spheal could lose to a dumb Pikachu!"
"Of course it could!" Max says.
"But how?" The boy asks.
"Well, Spheal is a Dual Type Pokemon, Water and Ice. That gives Pikachu the advantage against a Water Type," Mew says.
"Wow. Really?" The boy says, amazed.
"You shoulda learned that in Pokémon Battling 101," Max says.
The boy soon shows sweat drops, "Oh."
And then Mew says, "Well, I'm sure your Spheal didn't take too much damage, but you might want to think about giving it some rest."
Oh, yeah. That's right," The boy says and brings out his Pokeball. Then calls back his Pokemon, "Spheal, return."
Soon after, someone else shows up. A man with a gray suit and a teal shirt underneath. He has brown hair and brown hair.
The man calls out, "Ahoy. Is that you, Marius?"
"Yeah. Hi, Captain Stern," The boy, Marius says.
"Captain?" Everyone replies confused.
Then Marius says, "These guys are thieves! We should call Officer Jenny right now!"
But Max says, "I told you! We just came to see the Marine Museum, got it?"
"Right. And do you always get into places by climbing up the wall?" Marius says.
And Max says, "Yeah. All I wanted was to have a tiny peek at the museum."
"Oh. Are you kidding me? Is that all?" Marius says, "Well, why didn't you just say so in the first place?"
"Because you decided to attack us with your Spheal before we could say anything," Tomo says.
Marius realizes that he has a point, "I guess I did, huh? Sorry about jumping to conclusions."
The man, Captain Stern walks over, ""I'm glad that's been cleared up. I'm Captain Stern, I'm the curator of the Marine Museum."
"I'm Ashley, from Pallet Town," Mew says.
"I'm Max. Hi there," Max says.
"I'm Tomo," Tomo says.
"I'm Jen," Jen says.
"And I'm Molly," Molly says.
Then the Pokemon introduce themselves.
Then Captain Stern says, "Something came up earlier, so we had to close the museum for a while. But why don't you all come in and have a look around now?"
"Wow, you really mean it?" Max asks.
"Of course," Captain Stern says.
Everyone cheers, "Alright!"
As they all talk, Team Rocket eavesdrops.
"Look at dat! It's an exhibit of twerps!" Jessie says.
"With Pikachu and Eevee as the main attraction!" James says.
"Soon to be a fatal attraction, just like that magnetic supervillain. Anything having to do with an attraction, I'm pretty much an expert," Jessie says.
And James says, "I know! Not only do we steal Pikachu and Eevee, but also the priceless treasures from the museum and then we'll be surely rolling in green stuff!"
"And we'll make lots of money, too," Meowth says.
Team Rocket cheer, "We're so smart we're in the know! Sell some stuff and make some dough!"
"Wobbuuuffet!" (We'll be rich!) Wobbuffet says.
Meanwhile, at the Marine Museum.
Captain Stern explains, "I've devoted my life to studying Pokémon marine biology, and this is where I display my findings."
Tomo looks up, "Hey, look."
What they found was a model Wailord suspended on wires.
"It's a Wailord, like the one we saw over a week ago," Max says.
"We use models in the museum to help us better understand Pokémon habitats," Captain Stern says.
"That's cool," Max says.
Soon, Jen says, "Wow, look at that Goldeen."
"Goldeen is one of my favorites. Someday, I'm gonna catch one, and it'll evolve into a Gyarados," Marius says.
Everyone replies, "Uh..."
Mew giggles, "A Gyarados? But it can't. Goldeen will only evolve to a Seaking."
"Yeah, only Magikarp evolved into Gyarados," Max says, "You really don't know your Pokémon very well, do you, Marius?"
Embarrassed, Marius says, "Uh…" and sweat drops, "Ah. That's okay. I'll learn that stuff when I got out to sea."
"Huh?' Everyone replies, confused.
"Out to sea?" Molly replies.
"Yep, that's right," Marius says.
Then presents a model of a submarine.
"And I plan on going in that," Marius says.
"Wow, cool!" Tomo says.
"What is it?" Molly asks.
"It's a model, of the submarine I'm building now," Captain Stern says.
"Submarine?" Mew asks.
"Yeah. Besides the museum, Captain Stern runs a shipbuilding company,"Marius says.
"Really?" Jen asks.
"Awesome!" Max says.
And Mariys says, "I'm gonna travel the seas of the world, along with the Captain. See, my dream is to become a great scientist just like he is."
"That's a really great dream," Mew says.
"And you can do it," Max says.
Marius nods and chuckles, "I think so too," and giggles.
Soon, the group is in Captain Stern's office where the captain shows them a briefcase.
"This important sample just came in last night. I closed the museum today so that I could give it a thorough analysis," Captain Stern says before opening the case, "Have a look."
Everyone looks inside to see a black stone.
"What is it?" Tomo asks.
"Just looks like a plain old rock," Marius says.
"It doesn't look like rock," Mew says.
Max agrees, "She's right. It looks kinda dark, like it got burned or something."
"Precisely. I haven't dated it yet, but, at some point, it appears to have undergone extreme heat somewhere on the ocean's bottom," Captain Stern says.
"At the bottom of the ocean?" Tomo says.
"How can there be heat down there?" Molly asks.
"I didn't think that was possible," Max says.
Captain Stern explains, "Well, I can think of many probable causes for this, one of them being an underwater volcanic eruption. It could've been just that, a natural process at work, or, it could also have been the result of the actions of a Pokemon. A Pokemon seen in many legends named Groudon.
As the captain talks, a fantasy scenario showing Groudon heating up part of the ocean floor occurs.
"A what?" Molly asks.
"I read about Groudon before. They say that Groudon is one of the legendary Pokemon which helps create the land itself and lies within the magma of the world," Mew says.
"So, by studying that burnt rock, you might uncover some mystery about Groudon, is that right, Captain?" Max asks.
"It's possible," Captain Stern says.
Suddenly, they hear Jessie's voice, "Snow cones! Get your ice cold snow cones!"
Followed by James, "Tempt your taste buds with our Slateport snow cones!"
"That sounds great!" Mew and the kids happily say.
"I agree. You all go out and get yourselves a snow cone," Captain Stern says.
"What about you, captain?" Mew asks.
"I'll pass, this time. I think I'll start working on my analysis of this rock," Captain Stern says.
Meanwhile, outside, some familiar and shady characters sneak into the museum via the back door. Outside of the museum, it's revealed that Team Rocket has set up a snow cone shop.
Jessie calls out, "Step right up! Come and get it!"
James: Snow cones! Cool and refreshing!" James calls out.
The group along with Marius approaches, "
"Ooh, what kind should I get?" Max asks.
"I like to have strawberry," Mew says.
"Lemon for me," Jen says.
"Strawberry for me," Molly says.
Soon, Marius calls out, "Hey, old lady, I'll have a lemon."
Being called old makes Jessie angry, "Old lady?!"
However, James quickly cuts in before things escalate, "One lemon coming up."
Meowth starts up the machine, "Your wish is my command."
In no time, the snow cones are done.
"Feast your eyes. Voila!" Jessie says.
"Yippee!" Marius cheers.
The group cheers, "Yeah!"
Then Jessie passes each to each of the group, "For you, and you, and you, and you, and all of you. There. Eat up."
"This is great, thank you!" Mew says.
"Thank you," Tomo and the girls reply.
"I love snow cones," Mew says.
Then they all begin eating the snowcones.
Soon, Mew gets brain freeze, "Ah! Brain freeze!"
"Yeah! Here it comes!" Jen says, feeling it as well.
Marius takes a bite and gets a brain freeze too, "Yep! Snow cones just the way they're supposed to be!"
The others eat theirs and end up with brain freeze too.
Even the Pokemon end up with brain freeze. Well, except for Amaura, who is eating happily.
But Max notices, "Wait a minute."
"Yeah?" Marius asks.
"Why would they be out here selling snow cones today of all days? Since the museum is closed today, we'll be the only customers those guys are gonna get all day," Max questions.
"You're right," Tomo says.
"I hadn't thought of that," Marius says.
"You do have a point," Mew says
But Jessie says, "Oh. You folks are thinking way too much."
"Less thinking, more eating," James says.
The group turns to each other, "Hmm…"
(After a bit of consideration… "Yeah, okay!"
The group eat all the snow cones and they all get brain freeze, "More brain freeze," And groan in response.
Well, all except Amaura.
Soon, Jessie says, "Children, it's time you learn, nothing in life is free."
Then James appears holding Pikachu, Eevee, Meloetta and Skwovet, "And the going price of those snow cones is Pikachu and Eevee. And you can give us the Meloetta and Skwovet as a tip.
All the Pokemon cry out, "Help us!"
Still in pain from the brain freeze, Molly calls out, "What?!"
"No, Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew says, still feeling the pain.
Tomo calls out, "Meloetta! Skwovet!"
"I can't move!" Max says, still in pain.
"Me neither. My brain froze," Marius says.
"Me neither!" Jen says.
Then a cage comes down on them, trapping them easily, but Amaura moves out of the way just in time.
"What's going on?!" Marius cries out.
Soon, Jessie and James laugh and begin the motto.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble as you freeze.
James:
Make it double, but come again, please.
And James drops the four Pokemon in a cage.
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation.
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation.
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie: (removes her disguise)
Jessie.
James: (removes his disguise)
James.
Jessie:
Team Rocket fools you once more at the speed of light!
James:
Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Meowth, dat's right.
Wobbuffet:
Wobba! Wobba! (Print it! Print it!)
"Team Rocket!" Mew calls out.
"Not again!" Max says.
Inside the Museum power station, however, things do get worse as someone shuts off the power
Captain Stern notices, "Huh? A blackout?"
Inside Captain Stern's office, Homura of Team Magma and her grunts drop in.
Homura contacts his comrades with the radio, "This is Flame One. G research sample successfully obtained right on schedule."
Suddenly, someone enters the office, that being Captain Stern.
Captain Stern turns to see them, "Hey, do you mind telling me what you're doing here?"
But then, he noticed Homura had his case and recognized the uniforms.
Captain Stern confronts them "So you're that Team Magma I've been hearing about. Now, tell me, what are you planning to do with my rock sample?"
"Why should I tell you? And even if I did, it would be way over your head!" Homura says and calls out his Pokemon, "Mightyena, Shadow Ball!"
Mightyena appears and launches the attack, causing an explosion at the Captain's feet, and when the smoke cleared, Team Magma was gone.
"They're gone!" Captain Stern cries out.
Back outside, Mew and the others demand to be released from the cage.
"Let us out!" Molly calls out.
"Hey, you! You'd better let us out of here right now!" Marius says.
Max: Yeah! Let us out or else!" Max adds.
"Pikachu! Eevee! Thunderbolt!" Mew calls out
Pikachu and Eevee try to use Thunderbolt, but to no avail.
"Come on. Don't you think we've figured out that whole electric thing by now?" James says.
And Meowth says, "So what if it took a few thousand shockings, we finally got da gist of it."
"Because we're Team Rocket! So now part two of the plan, robbing that museum," James says.
"Oh, yeah! And then we're on the road to success, fortune, and fame!" Jessie says.
James turns around and says, "Let's get busy."
However, he notices Team Magma running out with the case.
"Don't tell me!" James says, shocked.
"Don't tell you what? Dat Team Magma got our treasure?' Meowth says.
"Well they're not going to have it for long!" Jessie says, and calls out, "Go, troops! Attack!" and runs after them.
"Right!" The boys agree and follow behind Jessie.
"Wobb!" (Charge!) Wobbuffet says.
Soon, they leave Mew and the others behind.
"Hold on, that's Team Magma!" Mew says.
"It's them!" Tomo says.
"Team Magma?" Marius asks.
"They're this organization in the Hoenn Region who causes trouble," Jen says.
"But now what do we do? They're making off with the Captain's sample!" Max asks.
"We can't let them get away! Neither Team Rocket, or Team Magma!" Marius says. Then calls out, "Spheal, I choose you!"
Spheal comes out.
Then Marius calls out, "Use your Body Slam to break the cage!"
Spheal, however, just claps.
"Stop clapping! Use Body Slam!" Marious shouts.
Spheal does, but on its trainer.
"Well, guess we won't be counting on those two to get us out of here," Max says.
Tomo then brings out his Pokeball, "Leave it to me! Sealeo, I choose you!"
And with that, Sealeo comes out of it.
"Cool! You got a Sealeo!" Marius says. Then turns to Spheal, "See that Spheal, you'll become that someday."
Spheal happily claps.
Jen notices Amaura and knows that she can help.
Jen calls out, "Amaura, use Ice Beam on this side of the cage."
Amaura nods and does just that.
Tomo calls out, "Now Sealeo, use Body Slam!"
Sealeo then uses Body Slam hard and powerful, enough to break the cage.
Meanwhile, Homura and his crew escape with the sample, only for Team Rocket to block the way with their Pokémon.
"Tank you for all da hard work fetching what we might've wanted to steal!" Meowth says.
Then James says, "Now, if you don't mind, we'll just take it from here."
"Perhaps you've heard the phrase 'what's mine is mine'? Well, whatever you stole from the museum, we planned to steal it first," Jessie adds
"Wobbu! Wobbu!" (Hand it over!) Wobbuffet says.
Homura just chuckles
Jessie says and calls out her Pokemon, "Seviper, Poison Tail!"
Seviper charges in
Homura calls out, "Mightyena, Tackle!"
Mightyena charges and strikes first.
James then calls out, "Cacnea, Pin Missile!"
Cacnea fires the attack.
Homura then calls out, "Use Double Team."
Mightyena creates duplicates of itself to evade the attack.
"Oh, wow! Look at that!" James says, shocked.
"Dat was some real speed!" Meowth says.
"This is not the time to be impressed!" Jessie angrily shouts and calls out the attack, "Seviper, Wrap attack, now!
Seviper slithers forward.
Homura then calls out, "Mightyena, Iron Tail."
Mightyena nails Seviper hard enough to send it flying into Team Rocket, causing them to drop Pikachu and Buddy while they go flying.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Team Rocket cries out.
"Woooobbuffet!" (We'll be back!) Wobbuffet cries out.
The cage lands and opens, allowing Pikachu, Eevee, Skwovet, and Meloetta to escape, only to find Team Magma and Mightyena staring them down.
Homura then says, "Just leave those Pokemon there."
Suddenly, Mew's voice calls out, "Pikachu! Eevee!"
"Meloetta! Skwovet!" Tomo's voice calls out.
The Pokemon turn happily to see their trainers. Team Magma turns to see Mew and the others.
"Are you all okay?" Mew asks.
Pikachu and Eevee jump to Mew while Meloetta and Swkovet do the same for Tomo.
"We're glad you're okay," Mew says.
"Oh, good. I'm glad that's over with," Max says.
Spheal claps in agreement while Mew stares Homura down.
Mew stands up and demands, "Team Magma! Give back that case right now!"
Suddenly, they hear Captain Stern's voice, "Everyone, wait!" and runs up.
Marius: Captain Stern!" Marius says.
"You can leave them to me," Captain Stern says.
However, Homura didn't seem worried.
Captain Stern then calls out, "Sealeo, let's go!"
And Sealeo comes out.
"Cool, you got one too!" Tomo says.
Captain Stern calls out, "Sealeo, Aurora Beam!"
Sealeo fires the attack, but as Mightyena jumps out of the way, the blast sends it flying into Homura, causing him to lose the case.
"Oh...kay!" Marius calls out and catches the case, "I got it!"
"What a great catch!" Max says.
"Thanks, Max," Marius says before handing the case to the captain, "Here, Captain Stern.
"Marius, thank you," Captain Stern says, taking the case.
Spheal happily claps, but the clapping stops as Homura and Mightyena get back up before the two grunts send out their own Mightyena.
"Well, it's been fun, but I'll take back that sample now," Homura says.
Meanwhile, at the market, Brock and May and the others were shopping.
"Well, that does it for all my shopping," Brock says.
"I could keep on shopping all day, there are so many new stores to hit! I must be in heaven!" May happily says.
But Brock says, "No, you're just at the mall. Should we go now?"
"Yeah," May says.
Meanwhile, Mew and his group were ready to face off against Team Magma's Mightyena.
"What in the world does Team Magma want with that burned up stone anyway?" Tomo questions.
"News flash, I don't have time to argue with any of you," Homura says.
"You just think you're so tough, don't you?!" Marius says.
"Captain Stern needs that stone for some important research and we're not gonna let you have it," Max says.
"So there!" Molly says and sticks her tongue out.
And Captain Stern says, "These young people are quite correct. I won't let you have this stone to use for your own selfish and evil reasons! I'm researching it for the good of Pokemon enthusiasts alone!"
"I'd rather do this the easy way," Homura says.
"You're not so scary, I'll take you on!" Mew says.
"Yeah! We'll take you!" Tomo says.
"Anyone who gets in the way of Team Magma will be, eliminated!" Homura says.
Mew then calls out, "Corphish, I choose you!"
"Let's go, Sealeo!" Tomo says.
Pikachu, Eevee, Meloetta and Skwovet step forward to help.
Captain Stern turns to the others, "Max, Molly, and Marius, listen. On my signal, I want you to run into town and get Officer Jenny."
"But, Captain…" Max says, worried.
But Marius salutes, "Awaiting your signal, Captain Stern!"
Homura then calls out, "Mightyena, Hyper Beam!"
All three Mightyena fire the attack
"Corphish, Bubble Beam. Pikachu, Thunderbolt. Eevee, Swift!" Mew calls out.
"Amaura, Ice Beam!" Jen calls out.
Then Tomo calls out, "Skowvet, Bullet Seed! Meloetta, Psybeam!"
Capt. Stern and Tomo call out, "Sealeo, Aurora Beam!"
All the Pokemon launch their attacks and cause the explosion of the attack.
All attacks launch/fire and cause a massive explosion when they hit the Hyper Beams.
Captain Stern turns to the others, "Kids, now's your chance!"
"Right! Let's go," Marius says, and grabs Max and Molly's hand and pulls them along.
"Okay," Max and Molly reply
Spheal follows close behind before the smoke clears, revealing Molly and the two boys reached the edge of a cliff)
"Now what?" Max asks.
"Dive into the ocean," Marius says.
Max looks down in fright, "No way! We can't dive down from this high up, we'll get totally squished by those rocks."
Molly hugs Max in fear, "I'm scared."
Marius reassures, "Don't worry, Max, we've got Spheal with us, right?"
"Yeah," Max says.
Spheal claps happily.
Max sweat drops, "Now I'm petrified."
Suddenly, they hear Homura's voice, "Shadow Ball!"
The kids look back and see Homura's Mightyena charging a Shadow Ball aimed right at them.
Marius takes Max and Molly's hand, "Come on!"
Marius, with Max and Molly in tow, and Spheal dive into the ocean just in time before the Shadow Ball could hit.
"Drat," Homura says and soon turns his attention to the others.
Max soon surfaces.
Mariu's voice calls out, "Max! Over here!"
He turns to see Marius holding on to Spheal while Molly is sitting on top.
"Okay!" Max says.
Max swims over and grabs hold of Spheal, just as Marius had done.
"Spheal, start swimming!" Marius says.
Spheal does so, rather quickly.
"I had no idea Spheal could swim this fast!" Max cries out.
Molly yells, "Wheeeeee! This is fun!"
Meanwhile, May and Brock were walking along next to the shoreline.
"Too bad Mew and the others didn't come with us to the Slateport Market," May says.
"I'm just glad I was able to drag you out," Brock says.
Just then, May and Brock look to see Max, Marius, Molly, and Spheal come ashore and run towards them.
"Hey, Brock and May! Over here!" Max calls out.
"Hey, it's Max! And Molly!" May says.
"They're supposed to be at the museum with Mew and the others," Brock says.
Speaking of whom, the group stands their ground against Team Magma.
"Here, Ashley. You take the case. We'll distract them, and when we do, you run away with it," Captain says.
"Captain…" Mew says, worried.
"There's no way we can win if the case stays here," Captain Stern says.
"Okay, Captain," Mew says and takes the case.
Captain Stern calls out, "Now, Sealeo, use Blizzard!"
Sealeo launches the attack, forcing Team Magma to brace as it hits.
"Pikachu! Eevee! Corphish! Lets go!" Mew says.
Mew and her Pokemon soon make a break for it.
Seeing this, Homura says, "No you don't! Mightyena, use Shadow Ball!"
Mightyena launches the attack and lands right in front of Mew, causing an explosion that sends him and his Pokemon flying.
"No!" Jen cries out.
"Mew!" Tomo cries out.
"Mew?" Homura questions, having heard it.
Captain Stern calls out, "Hold on, Ashley!"
As Mew goes flying, she ends up dropping the case.
"Go get that case!" Homura says.
Mightyena rushes in while Mew and his Pokemon land. Then the case hits the ground and the burnt stone, upon hitting the ground, breaks a bit.
"The rock!" Mew cries out.
The two pieces land on the ground. Mightyena takes the larger piece and runs off as Pikachu steps in and Mew grabs the smaller piece.
"Oh no!" Captain Stern says, shocked.
Mightyena hands the piece to Homura.
"Perfect," Homura says.
Soon, a Team Magma aircraft comes in to retrieve Homura and his grunts.
"Good, they're here," Homura says, and calls out, "Mightyena, Shadow Ball!"
Mightyena launches the attack, and lands just some feet away from the group, creating a smokescreen that blinds them long enough to allow Homura and his grunts to escape before it clears.
"Got away in their own escape craft right on cue," Captain Stern says, "Well, looks like they're a well-organized bunch of criminal thugs."
"Yeah, but," Mew says and shows Captain Stern the smaller piece, "They still got away with most of the rock piece."
Soon enough, police cars arrive on the scene. Later that evening, the police were still investigating.
"I'm really sorry, Captain Stern. We let them get away with the sample,' Mew apologizes.
"Don't worry about that at all, Ashley," Captain Stern says, holding the piece Mew has obtained, "I still have that smaller piece left after it hit the ground. This will be sufficient enough to begin my research.'
"But I wonder what Team Magma is planning to do with that rock," May says.
"Good question, May, I love to know what they're up to," Brock says.
"Me too," Max says.
"So do I," Jen says.
Marius then asks, "Hey, Ashley. Where are you guys headed to, next?"
"Mauville City," Mew answers.
"Are you and your friends going there for more gym battles?" Marius asks.
"Yep,"Mew says.
"Cool," Marius says. Then turns to Mew, "Next time I see you, I want a rematch. And next time, Spheal and I will win it."
Spheal happily claps in agreement.
"You've got yourself a battle," Mew says.
"But before that, Marius, I think you have a little practicing to do, huh?" Max says.
"Yeah, I hear you," Marius says.
"Well, we better get going," Mew says.
Everyone turns to walk away.
"Well, see ya!" Max calls out.
"Take good care!" Captain Stern calls out.
"Bye! Good luck in Mauville!" Marius calls out.
Everyone calls out, "Thanks, we'll see ya later!"
"Bye! See ya, Marius!" Max says, waving goodbye.
So, with the troubles and challenges of the Marine Museum behind them, our heroes head on to Mauville City, where the next Pokemon gym awaits.
But meanwhile, in Team Magma's aircraft, Homura is deep in thought of the earlier incident at the museum. His mind flashbacks to hearing Tomo calling the girl Ashely, Mew.
"Hmm, there's something familiar about that girl," Homura says.
The aircraft continues flying away to the destination where Team Magma continues on with whatever plan he has.
