Episode 41: Watt's With Wattson?
Working toward entering the Hoenn League, Mew has already earned two badges. The Stone badge from Rustboro City and the Knuckles badge from Dewford Town on Dewford Island. Now, Mew and her friends have arrived at Mauville City so Mew can battle at the Mauville Gym.
"Today's the day. I'm finally going to battle for my next badge at the Mauville Gym," Mew says.
"Yeah! That's the spirit!" Brock says.
"You'll get it, Mew, for sure!" May says.
"Aw, man, I can't wait for this one! It's gonna be awesome!" Max says.
"Me too," Tomo says.
"Yeah!" the girls reply.
Soon, Mew and the others arrived at the Mauville Gym. A large yellow building with orange markings on it.
Mew soon approaches the door, "Hello, I'm here for a gym…"
But before Mew can finish his sentence, the door falls over on her. Mew stumbles inside and walks on the door.
"What's this?" May says.
"How weird," Max wonders.
Suddenly, the "door" turns into a moving platform and takes everyone for a ride while the real door closes.
"This is how they welcome you into the gym?" Mew cries out.
The platform follows the hallway as it curved while doors opened automatically. Max, Tomo, Jen, and Molly are having a blast.
Max laughs, "I feel like I'm on a ride at an amusement park."
"The hallway and the platform start to move uphill
"Well, I'm not very amused," May cries out.
"It's just like being on a roller coaster!" Jen adds.
Just then, the platform quickly heads downhill like a rollercoaster car. All the while, the Gym leader, Wattson watches from a control room.
Watson is a man with white hair and a beard, and wears a brown jacket..
"Welcome, my friends, to a place where fun never ends!" Wattson says and laughs.
As he continues laughing, someone else enters the room. It's a young man with brown hair, wears glasses, and wears a beige jacket with brown pants.
The man asks, "Boss? Did you turn up the power on that thing again?"
"Of course, it's my way of welcoming challengers to the gym," Wattson says, "I'm glad you got it fixed yesterday, cause like I always say, if you're gonna do something, do it big. Watching those youngsters on that ride makes me feel like I'm playing right along with them," and laughs.
Soon, the roller coaster turns into a rough water ride.
"Yes, but, sir, perhaps you've gone too far?" the man questions, wary.
Nonsense! Just think of this as a little warm up before battle!" Wattson says.
"But sir…" The young man speaks up.
But Wattson shushes him, "Shh. They're getting close to the best part."
The ride soon reaches dry land again. Some of the group are not satisfied.
"Well, this is no way for a gym leader to welcome guests," May says, annoyed.
"You're right. Seems like a strange way to say hello," Brock says.
"Aw, come on, guys. I think it's fun," Max says.
"Yeah! That was awesome!" Tomo cheers.
Soon, they come face to face with a mechanical Raikou, though they had no idea it was a robot
"A Raikou!" Max says, surprised.
"Where did that come from?" Tomo asks.
Suddenly, Tomo's little Raikou comes out of his Pokeball.
"Raikou?!" Tomo says, shocked.
Surprised, Max says, "You have an actual Raikou?!"
Tomo sheepishly smiles and says, "Yeah. It's a long story."
Little Raikou approaches the large Raikou and looks at it. The little Raikou sniffs the big one and returns to Tomo. The little Raikou shakes his head before nuzzling Tomo.
"That's odd…" Jen says.
"Hold on, is that Raikou even real?" Mew asks.
The Raikou robot quickly went on the attack.
Mew calls out, "Quick, use Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu launches the attack and halts the robotic Raikou's attack.
"Now, use Iron Tail!" Tomo calls out.
Pikachu then hits the robot with its Iron Tail, and starts filling Pikachu with extra power.
"Pikachu!" Mew cries out.
Soon, the robot was destroyed.
"That's no Raikou! It's a robot!" Mew says.
"So that Raikou was just a fake?" Max says.
"I think so," Brock says.
Mew walks to Pikachu and asks in concern, "Pikachu, are you okay?"
Pikachu turns around and says, "Pika Pika!" (Never better!)
Mew soon notices something off, his face looks a tiny bit red and is sparking.
Soon, Wattson arrives with his assistance.
Wattson says, "That was great! Great! And I must confess, I never thought I'd see the day when my Electro-Raikou was turned into a pile of scrap metal," and laughs.
"Hi, folks. Welcome to the Mauville gym," The young man says.
"So, you're the gym leader," May replies.
"That's right. I'm Mr. Wattson, leader extraordinaire of the Mauville gym. And him, that's Watt, my assistant," Wattson says.
"Cool. I'm Ashley from Pallet Town. I've come here for a battle, and I'm gonna win my third badge!" Mew says.
"I haven't seen a challenger with that much spunk in a long time!" Wattson says, and smiles, "Yes, this will be good. Ashley, you and I have a battle date," and laughs.
Elsewhere in Mauville, Team Rocket was on an island that was home to a power plant.
"Look like someone abandoned dis fully woiking powah plant. But dat don't make no sense," Meowth says.
Then Jessie says, "With a view like this, and semi-complete secrecy, you know what I think it is? Only, the perfect base.."
"Done!" James says and points to the building, "Feast your eyes on the first Team Rocket base of the Hoenn region!"
"Let's go check out da new digs!" Meowth says.
But as soon as they enter, they find a bunch of electrical Pokemon, such as Magnemite, Magneton, Voltorb and Electrode, before they quickly close the door.
"See that?" Jessie questions.
"I did," James says.
Jessie crosses her arms, "Just great. This place is filled with a mob of freeloading Pokemon squatters."
"With enough electricity to light up the entire region," James says.
"We bettah hope dat none of em got a short fuse," Meowth says.
"So, then, there's one way to claim this power plant as a base," Jessie says.
"We march back in there, look em in the eyes and tell them who's boss," James says.
Jessie and James think about it and say, "Or we walk away."
"Yep!" James says.
"And that's that!" Jessie says.
"Can't win em all," James says.
But as the two start to walk away…
"Hold it!" Meowth shouts, making them stop. Meowth continues, "Are you telling me you're a couple of chickens and quitters?! Da way I sees it, we got a double opportunity here. A new Team Rocket base, and we give dose Pokemon to da boss!
A fantasy scenario begins.
Meowth explains, "A tiny zap from just one of dose Voltorb will wake him up ever so gently when he's going through one of dose days when he doesn't have much energy. And tanks to Magnemite, he'll get all his electricity for free for his various household appliances. While da Magneton and Electrode power, not just his house, but also the main Team Rocket headquarters. I can almost hear him now, saying dose woids I long to hear; 'These electric Pokemon that Meowth and his teammates gave me are helping Team Rocket out with our electrical needs, so they deserve a reward.'
Team Rocket laughs as the scenario ends.
"We may be in line for big bonuses!" Jessie happily says.
James: Respect he thinks we don't deserve!" James agrees.
Team Rocket: Roles as executives or administrators!" Team Rocket cheers.
Then Jessie says, "Then we can't let that bunch of electro-bullies keep us from fame and fortune! Right?!"
"Right!" James and Meowth reply.
"Woooobbuffet!" (Let's do it!) Wobbuffet says.
Meanwhile, at the gym, the battle was about to begin)
Watt announces, "And now, the Mauville gym battle between challenger, Ashley, and gym leader, Wattson will begin! Each trainer will use three Pokemon. The battle ends when all three of either trainer's Pokemon are unable to continue!"
"I'll be battling with Voltorb, Magnemite and Magneton! I've been working with these three for a great amount of time!" Wattson says.
"So the Mauville gym is an electric Pokemon gym," Max says.
"It's kinda surprising that he would reveal the Pokemon he'll be using," Brock says.
"Yeah. That must be confidence," Max says.
Then Max says, "I wonder what Pokemon Ashley will use first. Hey, Treecko's strong against electric Pokemon, that would work."
"So a water Pokemon like Corphish wouldn't work," May replies.
"Right. I bet Taillow could do okay. Even though Taillow's a flying Pokemon, I think it would be a pretty good match up," Brock says.
"Well, she also has some ground types she can use as well," Tomo adds.
"And Fire Types also have the advantage too," Jen says.
Mew says in thought, "In my case, it's safe to go with Ground, Rock, or Fire Types for this battle." Mew is about to bring out her Pokeball.
But Pikachu beats her to it by jumping into the battlefield.
"You wanna battle, Pikachu?" Mew asks.
"Pika! (You bet!) Pikachu answers
"Alright, then, I choose you, Pikachu!" Mew says.
Pikachu sparks eagerly, which makes Mew concerned.
"She's starting with Pikachu," May says.
"Well, knowing her, she probably wants to jump into this battle head on, and maybe use Pikachu's speed," Brock says.
Wattson laughs, "Great! Super! Like I said, you've got spunk, especially since you're starting with an electric Pokemon. You asked for this. Here we go! Use Swift, Magnemite!"
With that, Magnemite takes the field and performs the attack.
Mew calls out, "Okay, dodge and use Thunderbolt!"
Wattson chuckles, "Electric attacks are useless against my Pokemon, Ashley!"
However, Pikachu dodges and then UNLEASHES a Thunderbolt strong enough to knock Magnemite out instantly.
"Huh?!" Mew reacts in shock.
Even Wattson is shocked, "But... But how?!"
"What?!" Watts says, shocked.
He regains his composure and announces, "Magnemite cannot continue the battle! Pikachu wins!"
Mew tries to smile and says, "Good job, Pikachu!"
"Pika Pika!" (All too easy!) Pikachu says.
However, Mew is starting to notice Pikachu's behavior.
Mew says in thought, "Something… seems off…"
Amazed, Max says, "Man, Pikachu beat Magnemite in one attack!"
"Unbelievable!" May says, shocked.
"What's unbelievable was how powerful that Thunderbolt was!" Brock says.
Wattson laughs, "I guess for every rule, there's an exception," Then calls out, "Now, Voltorb, use Screech!"
Voltorb launches the attack.
"Okay Pikachu, use Quick attack to gain speed and attack with Thunderbolt!" Mew calls out.
Pikachu uses Quick Attack to gain speed and dodge the attacks, then with another Powerful Thunderbolt, he knocks Voltorb out upon impact. Mew has observed Pikachu speed and attacks carefully. She notices that his speed seems fine, but his Electric Attack seems very powerful. And seeing the look on Pikachu's face, he's starting to show red on it.
Wattson is shocked by the display, "Not again! Winning twice in a row with one attack?!"
Shocked as well, Watt says, "Voltorb's unable to battle!" and regains composure, "Pikachu wins!"
Mew calls out, "Hey Pikachu, do you wanna switch?!"
But Pikachu turns around and answers, "Pika Pika! Pika Pikachu! Pi Pi Pika Pika! Pika Pikachu!" (No way! I feel so energized that I can keep going, and I'm on a roll with this battle! Let's bring it!)
Mew's eyes wide in shock and begins to grow very concerned, "Pikachu… what… what's going on?"
Soon, Wattson had lost his jovial, frustrated from losing two Pokemon in a single hit.
Wattson calls out, "Go, Magneton, show them a REAL electric attack! Zap Cannon!"
Magneton then fires the attack.
Panicking, Mew calls out, "Quick, use Quick Attack to dodge and use Thunder on it!"
However, Pikachu doesn't move, instead, launches the Thunder Attack head on and through the Zap Cannon effortlessly, blowing back and knocking Magneton out once it struck.
This has Wattson shocked, "Impossible!"
Even Watt is shocked, "There's no way!" Then regains composure, "Magneton is unable to battle! Pikachu's the winner! This match goes to Ashley from Pallet Town!"
Mew is shocked to see Pikachu's Thunder Attack is even more powerful. In fact, she is starting to have a bad feeling that something's wrong.
"Pika Pika!" (Far too easy!) Pikachu says with full confidence and energy.
"No way!" Tomo says, shocked.
"A clean sweep for Pikachu!" May says.
"With only one attack each time!" Max says.
"Wow, I've never seen Pikachu look better," Brock says.
"Amazing!" Jen says.
"Yeah! Pikachu was great!" Molly says.
Mew however, doesn't feel so great as she looks at Pikachu.
Wattson, though devastated, walks towards Mew, "Ashley, powerful stuff. Take this, the Dynamo badge," and present the badge to her.
Mew soon looks at the badge on Wattson's palm. Mew looks at it to be shaped like a yellow coiled wire.
"Sure. You beat me, Ashley, but good," Wattson says, looking devastated.
However, Wattson notices Mew is simply staring at the badge.
Mew looks at the badge for the longest time. Soon, Brock and the others walk over.
"Hey Ashley, you okay?" Tomo asks.
"Yeah. You should be happy that you won," Jen says.
"Is something wrong?" Brock asks.
Mew soon shakes her head to regain herself. She then takes a deep breath and says something shocking, "I'm… I'm sorry Wattson, but… I can't accept it."
This shocked Wattson and Watt, even her friends are shocked to hear what Mew is saying.
"What do you mean, can't accept it?" Wattson asks.
"Well…" Mew says.
But hears Eevee's voice, "Eevee! Vee Eevee!" (Mew, something's wrong with Pikachu?!")
Everyone turns to notice Pikachu has collapsed on the ground.
"Pikachu, what's wrong?" Mew asks, worried, rushing to Pikachu and holding him in her arms.
Everyone else looks and rushes over.
"Hey, buddy, you don't look so good," Mew says.
Pikachu soon starts sparking, and touches his forehead.
Shocked, Mew says, "Oh, no! You're burning up! I knew something was wrong! I…" Soon tears fall down her face and hugs Pikachu, "I should have tried harder to convince you to stop when I noticed your attacks weren't normal!"
Ëveryone is surprised to hear it.
"Weren't normal…?" Wattson questions.
Soon enough, Mew and her friends, along with Wattson and Watt rush to the Pokemon Center and reach Nurse Joy.
"Nurse Joy! It's an emergency!" Mew cries out, "It's my Pikachu!"
"Quick, come in! What's wrong?!" Nurse Joy says.
Not long, everyone watches as Pikachu gets treated.
"Pikachu," Mew says, worried.
Seeing the analysis, Nurse Joy explains, "Pikachu's electrical level is reading much higher than it normally would. Has he been exposed to any high voltage recently?"
"High voltage?" Molly questions.
Mew gasps in realization when it might have happened. Mew remembers Pikachu attacking and destroying Wattson's Electro-Raikou.
"It… It must have happened back in the gym!" Mew says, shocked.
"Pikachu must have gotten the extra electrical energy when he destroyed the Electro-Raikou," Tomo says.
"And the electricity must have traveled into Pikachu's body from the Iron Tail attack," Max says.
"Then THAT's when this overcharge occurred!" Nurse Joy says, "An overcharge in an electrical Pokémon is very dangerous. It allows incredible energy to be released for a short time, but it also puts a lot of stress on the victim. In this case, Pikachu."
Brock soon realizes, "Of course! That's why Pikachu's electrical attacks were so amazingly powerful!"
"Huh? Nurse Joy questions.
"I just had a gym battle with Wattson earlier. And through the battle, Pikachu's Electric attacks were more powerful and caused him to win all three rounds straight through! And that's why he simply straight at the Zap Cannon instead of dodging, and why he was so full of energy," Mew says, showing strong remorse.
This shocked Nurse Joy, "You mean you swept a gym battle?!"
Soon, Pikachu's voltage level returns to normal.
Pikachu gets up and happily says, "Pika!" (I'm back!)
"That's great! You'll be just fine," Nurse Joy
"Pika Pi!" (Mew!) Pikachu says and leaps into Mew's arms.
"I'm sorry, Pikachu. I should have realized this a lot sooner, than you wouldn't battle in the first place," Mew says.
Pikachu shakes his head and says, "Pika. Pikachu Pika Pikachu (Don't worry about it. I'm the one who let myself battle like that like a wild lightning bolt.)
Mew hugs Pikachu, "I'm just really glad you're okay, buddy."
Eevee also comforts Pikachu, glad to see he's okay too. Everyone is relieved to see that Pikachu is okay. Wattson and Watt are also glad to see Mew's Pikachu has recovered.
"I'm glad that Pikachu is okay," Molly says.
"Yeah. We never thought that Pikachu was overcharged, but Mew did," Tomo says.
"I can understand why she didn't want to accept the badge. She must have realized that her gym battle was a mistake," May says.
"And Pikachu ended up winning because an overcharge caused his attack to be more powerful than normal, and it put a lot of stress on him," Max says.
Wattson and Watt continue to watch the group talk and are relieved to see Pikachu is okay.
"You know, Ashley sure is a caring trainer, and knows when things are fair. Despite winning the match, she knows that it's not really fair. It shows that she's also honest too," Watt says.
"Yeah. She actually is," Wattson says and smiles.
Shortly after, Wattson gives Nurse Joy his Pokemon so she can take care of them from the battle earlier.
"Here you go. Nurse Joy, thanks for caring for them," Wattson says.
"You're welcome," Nurse Joy says.
Wattson turns to see Mew sitting on the bench as she massages Pikachu's cheek.
"How do you feel, Pikachu?" Mew asks.
"Pika," (Very relaxed.) Pikachu says, very relaxed.
"Glad that Pikachu feels better," Jen says.
"Yeah," Tomo says.
Wattson walks over, "I see Pikachu is well relaxed."
"Thank you," Mew says. I'm glad Pikachu is okay.
She then apologizes, "I'm sorry about the battle. I never meant for all this to happen."
"It's okay. You never meant for it to happen," Wattson says, "I'm just sorry my Electro-Raikou gave your Pikachu a super charge."
"That's okay," Mew says.
Then Wattson says, "Say, how's about you all can come with me to my favorite spot."
"Favorite spot?" Brock asks.
"Yeah. It's a small island that has an abandoned power plant. He used to train there all the time," Watt says.
"Sounds cool," Tomo says.
"I think it's a great place to go," Mew says.
Sometime later, the group are on the island and soon, they see the power plant.
"Is that the power plant?" Jen asks.
"Sure is. I used to train here with all my electric types all the time," Wattson says.
Then Wattson sits and watches the town from the ledge, "And it has a great view of the city."
Mew and the others look ahead to see the city.
"You're right. It's a great view," May says.
Soon, Wattson feels a tug on his jacket, before looking behind him and sees a Pokemon. A green, canine Pokémon with yellow markings. It has a large head crest with angular, lightning-like markings on the side. Its snout has a yellow blaze, and four fangs are discernible when its mouth is open. It has a yellow stripe down its back. Each of its four legs has a spike, with the ones on its hind legs being longer. It has yellow crescent-shaped paw pads on its front feet, while the pads on its hind feet are circular. It has a small, pointed, yellow-tipped tail.
"What's that Pokemon?" May asks.
"An Electrike," Wattson says.
The Electrike nuzzles Wattson's arm.
"Well, look at you. You're sure friendly for a wild Electrike," Wattson says and pets it, "Hold on," and reaches into his jacket pocket, "I must have something in my pocket," Then offers a small handful of Pokémon food, "Want some?"
The Electrike happily eats.
"You like it? It's pretty good, huh?" Wattson says and chuckles with a smile.
Wattson then picks up Electrike and the two become close friends.
"There, there," Wattson says and Electrike licks Wattson.
Wattson giggles, "Hey! Stop doing that, it tickles! Electrike, do you happen to know any electric attacks?"
Electrike demonstrates by creating blue electricity around its body.
"Thunder Wave. My Magnemite had quite a struggle with that at first, too. Like you," Wattson says.
"That Electrike is really cute," Mew says.
"I agree," May says and brings out her Pokedex.
Dextette says, "Electrike, the Lightning Pokemon. An Electric Type. Electrike runs faster than the human eye can follow. The friction from running is converted into electricity, which is then stored in this Pokémon's fur."
"It sure is cute, and pretty energetic," May says.
"Yeah, and it's pretty friendly too," Mew says.
Suddenly, they hear a strange sound, and look to see a giant vacuum machine heading towards the abandoned power plant.
"What's all this?" Wattson questions.
"My guess is trouble," Mew says.
Inside the machine was Team Rocket, laughing happily.
"Ready, squatters?" Jessie says.
"Your power plant days are numbered!" James says.
"Yeah, less den one!" Meowth adds.
The hose breaks into the plant and starts sucking up the Pokemon inside before depositing them in a cage in the back.
"Come on in! Plenty of room for everyone!" Jessie says.
"Which means plenty of moolah for the three of us!" James says.
The Pokemon try to shock their way out, but to no avail
"Hey, listen up back dere, dis ting's built just for catching electric Pokemon. So you're wasting your energy wit all dose volts," Meowth says.
Soon, Mew and the others, including Wattson and Watt show up.
Wattson shouts, "Stop this! Just who do you think you are?!"
"Oh no!" Tomo says.
"Not them!" Jen adds.
And with that, Team Rocket performs their motto.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble and get set for a shock.
James:
You can make it double, but we're on the clock.
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation.
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation.
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie:
Jessie.
James:
James.
Jessie:
Team Rocket sparks wonderment at the speed of light.
James:
Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Dat's right!
Wobbuffet:
Wooobbu! (And cut!)
"Team Rocket!" Mew and her friends cry out.
"Not you guys!" Brock says.
"What do you want this time?!" Mew demands.
Wattson says, "I got this."
Suddenly, Meowth calls out, "Yoo-hoo!"
"Hey, Pikachu. Eevee. Since you're here…" Jessie calls out.
"We want you!" James says.
The vacuum sucks in Pikachu and Eevee
"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew calls out.
Pikachu and Eevee cry out, "Pika Pi!/Eevee! (Mew!)
"And we'll take one Electrike, too," Jessie says.
Electrike is quickly sucked in.
"Electrike!" Wattson cries out.
Then Meowth says, "Actually, dere's one more ting!"
From the machine, a net launches and catches the group.
Soon, Jessie says, "So, while we make our brilliant escape, you all can surf the net."
The trio roll away with their captured Pokemon
"Later!" James says.
"Much later!" Meowth calls out.
Pikachu cries out, "Pika!" (Help us!)
Mew throws the net off of her, "Pikachu! Eevee! I'm coming!"
But Wattson says, "Hold on a second, Ashley. You just leave this to me. I've got me an idea."
Meanwhile, Team Rocket was bragging about their success, "We're so smart! We're number one! What a blast!"
"Beauty! And we owe it all ta my Absorber Zap-o-matic mark six!" Meowth says.
Soon, Meowth hears something coming their way, "Huh? What's dat?"
What they see is the Electro-Raikou.
"It looks like an oversized Raikou!" James says.
The machine comes to a stop.
"If it really is a Raikou, den who supersized it?" "Meowth says.
Right on cue, Mew and the others arrive.
"We've got you now, Team Rocket!" Mew says.
One roar from the Electro-Raikou spooks Team Rocket.
"Meowth, if I remember correctly, Raikou is are strong," James says.
Sweat drops, Meowth says, "But, not to worry. Dis machine is resistible to all electric attacks."
Jessie worriedly asks, "Yes, Meowth, but is it guaranteed to be Raikou-proof?"
Meowth sweat drops, "Don't count on dat."
"Then I say we should put this thing in reverse!" James says.
"Right!" Meowth says.
Brock then calls out, "Forretress, Rapid Spin!"
May does the same, "Torchic, Ember!"
Both Pokemon come out of their Pokeballs and throw/fire their attacks.
"Go away! You can't come in!" Jessie cries out.
The Electro-Raikou roars again, scaring Team Rocket.
James sweat drops and asks, "Meowth, can this contraption do any attacks at all?"
"No, but it was cheap," Meowth answers, sweat drops.
"Raikou, keep that stare of yours locked on target," Wattson says.
Watt turns to Wattson, "Mr. Wattson, I thought you said our Electro-Raikou was too damaged to use anymore and you were going to toss it out."
"Yes, Watt, that was the plan, but its roar reminds me of my sixth grade teacher, so I couldn't let go," Wattson says and laughs.
Watt just sweat drops and sighs.
"Relax, this is just what we need to stop them in their tracks," Wattson says.
Meanwhile, the captured Pokemon were still trying to escape
Pikachu has an idea, "Pika! Pika Pika! (Hold on! Let me have a whack!)
"Eevee!" (Good idea!) Evee says.
Pikachu and Eevee then use their Iron Tack to whack the bars while Electrike tries biting its way out.
"Iron Tail?" Wattson says, shocked.
As the Pokemon try to escape, the Electro-Raikou continues to roar, but Team Rocket isn't as spooked as before.
James turns to Jessie, "Raikou's all bark and, apparently, no bite."
"I think so. Now's our chance to fight!" Jessie says, and calls out her Pokemon, "Seviper, use Poison Tail, now!"
James does the same, "Cacnea, Pin Missile!"
Both Pokemon come out of their Pokeball, but while Seviper charges in, Cacnea goes and hugs James.
"Wrong direction, Cacnea!" James cries out
Seviper's attack hits the Electro-Raikou on the head, destroying the machine and shocking Team Rocket.
Meowth cries out, "Dat big old Raikou was a ripoff!"
Right on cue, Pikachu, Eevee, and Electrike finally break the bars, allowing them and the other Pokemon to escape.
"You guys, the boss' gifts are running away!" James panics.
Jessie turns to Meowth, "You said we were insulated against electric attacks, didn't you, Meowth?!"
Meowth sheepishly says, "I don't believe insulated was da woid I used. Anyways, it was Iron Tail and Bite dat broke da bars."
"Now I'm gonna break you!" Jessie shouts.
Pikachu and Eevee happily call out, "Pika Pi!/Eevee!" (Mew!)
Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew says, happily
Both Pikachu and Pokemon reunite
"Are you feeling okay?" Mew asks.
"Pikachu." (I feel fine.) Pikachu says.
"Electrike, and how about you?" Wattson asks.
Electrike confirms it's okay.
"If nothing else, I'm taking that Pikachu and Eevee!" Jessie angrily says, "Seviper, Poison Tail!"
Seviper throws the attack, but Pikachu dodges.
"Cacnea, Pin Missile!" James calls out.
Cacnea dodges but Eevee avoids it just in time.
Mew calls out, "Pikachu, Thunderbolt em, now!"
Pikachu fires the attack and hits its mark
Then Mew calls out, "Now Eevee, use Quick Attack!"
Eevee darts in and nails both Seviper and Cacnea, sending them flying behind the machine.
"Mighty frenzy attacking, Ashley!" Wattson says.
Jessie growls in anger, "Okay, you're my last hope. Let's go, Dustox!"
And Dustox comes out.
Jessie calls out, "Dustox, dear, blow them away with Whirlwind!"
Pikachu and Eevee are promptly blown back.
"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew calls out.
Then Jessie calls out, "Finish him with Psybeam!"
Dustox charges the attack, but then…
"Electrike, Thunder Wave!" Wattson calls out.
Electrike fires the attack causes Dustox to stop its own
"Alright! That leaves Dustox confused and wide open!" Max cheers.
Mew calls out, "Now, Pikachu, Eevee, use Thunderbolt!"
Both Pikachu and Eevee fire the attack with full force. Wattson and Watt are shocked to see Eevee can use Thunderbolt like that. And they both hit Dustox, electrifying it and right into Team Rocket's machine, shocking them, blowing up the machine, and Team Rocket sky high.
"Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Team Rocket cries out.
"Pikachu, Eevee, great job!" Mew says.
"Pikachu!" (No problem!) Pikachu says.
"Eevee!" (Nothing to it.) Eevee says.
All the other electrical Pokemon thank Pikachu and Eevee for helping them.
"You both were great, you saved the Pokemon," Tomo says.
But Pikachu says, "Pika Pika! Pika Pika Pika!" (Not just us. We had help, from Electrike.)
"Pikachu's right. Electrike helped out too," Mew says.
"That's right, they all worked together to save those Pokemon," Wattson says.
Everyone agrees.
Then Wattson says, "And Mew, I have something to give to you."
"What is it?" Mew asks.
Wattson soon brings out the badge for his and presents it to her.
"Here you go, I like you to have this," Wattson says.
Mew is surprised, and asks, "Wait, you want me to have this? But why?"
Wattson then explains, "Your Pikachu may have been more powerful than normal in our gym battle, but I watched Pikachu and Eevee rescue those Pokemon and seeing how well you three work together won me over! So there's no doubt you're the most deserving of this Dynamo badge."
"Are you sure?" Mew asks.
"He only tells the truth, Ashley. It's yours," Watt says.
Mew smiles and says, "Thank you, Wattson."
Pikachu and Eevee are happy.
"Way to go, Ashley," Max says.
"Great job," Everyone agrees.
"Thanks guys," Mew says.
"Say, I better be getting back to my gym. I've got me an Electrike to start working with," Wattson says as he picks up Electrike.
Watt soon asks, "Excuse me, sir, you are going to be the gym leader, right?"
"Of course, Watt," Wattson says, "To tell the truth, lately I think I've been acting a little too cautiously. It's time for this electric Pokemon trainer to make a fresh start!" then turns to Mew, "I have a favor to ask, Ashley. Once this Electrike grows up a bit more, how about a battle?"
"You bet, I'll be looking forward to it," Mew says.
Pikachu and Eevee happily agree.
Soon, Watt says in tears, "I'm so happy you're still going to be the gym leader and my boss!"
"No tears, Watt, we're only going to have smiles from here on in. Mauville City is the place where fun never ends!" Wattson says and laughs.
Everyone else laughs.
Mew and her friends leave the electric gym leader, Mr. Wattson, re-energized and with a new sense of fun. Now, with his Dynamo badge in hand, Mew's Hoenn League journey continues on.
