Episode 51: Pros and Con Artists

Today, Mew and the others have finally reached Fallarbor town as the sun is starting to set.

"Fallarbor Town! We finally made it!" May cheers.

The Pokemon cheers.

Max then points out, "I bet the Pokémon Contest is going to be held in that building right there."

Everyone looks down and sees the location of the Contest

"Yep, that's the place. Fallarbor Stadium.

"Inside that stadium, all my dreams will come true!" May says and imagines winning the Contest, "Thank you. Thanks."

Confused, Tomo asks, "Uh, May, are you alright?"

"Yes, I was just imagining the moment. Now presenting the first prize ribbon to May and her Beautifly!" May says.

"What?! Okay, I think we've lost her for good," May says.

"Well, why shouldn't I shoot for the top? If I'm not going to believe in myself, then who will, Max?" May says.

"That's the spirit, May!" Mew says.

"You can do it," Brock says.

"We all believe in you, May!" Molly says.

"Right! I really can!" May says and calls out, "Alright, Beautifly, come on out, now!"

And Beautifly comes out.

"You see that stadium, Beautifly?" May asks, pointing towards the building.

"Beau." (Yeah.) Beautifly answers.

"That's where you and I are going to work together and win!" May says.

"Beau! Beau!" (Sounds great!) Beauitfly says.

It's clear to show that May is all set for her Pokemon Contest, which begins in Fallarbor Time.

Sometime later, Mew and the others enter the Pokemon Center.

Of course, Brock is in la la land, "So many...lovely...coordinators."

"Here we go again," Max and Tomo say, annoyed.

May looks around, "Uh oh. It looks like there's going to be some tough competition."

Soon, Jen says, "Hey guys, look there."

The group looks to see a girl meditating with her Pokemon, Medicham, does the same whilst levitating.

She has long dark red hair in pigtails, tied by green scrunchies, and fair skin. She wears a yellow blouse with a indigo purple color vest and pants, with a pink belt around her waist, dark slip-on shoes. She is also wearing orange round earrings and a green bracelet.

And Medicham is a humanoid, bipedal Pokémon that resembles a yoga practitioner. It has a gray body with red and yellow adornments. A red headpiece with three bulb-like extensions covers the upper portion of its head: one on top and one on either side. The headpiece slightly covers its large, focused eyes, and its red lips seem to be in a rounded or puckered position. Its legs appear covered with puffy, red pants with a large yellow spot on the knees and yellow bands next to the hips.

"Look! That Pokémon is floating on air!" May says, surprised.

"No it's using psychic abilities," Mew points out.

"Cool, it's a Medicham!" Max says.

"Medicham?" May says and gets out her Pokedex.

Dextette says, "Medicham, the Meditate Pokémon. A Fighting and Psychic Type. Medicham is able to harness psychic powers through yoga. Being at one with nature, it can make itself vanish completely.

"Wow. So, it uses yoga to use psychic powers?" Molly says.

"What a cool Pokemon," May says.

Suddenly, Max's glasses lift off his face, just as every other small object in the lobby of the Pokémon Center starts to levitate, along with a girl's skirt, surprising everyone.

"Wait a sec!" Mew calls out.

Soon, Mew's hat is lifted off her head.

"No way!" Mew cries out.

And Pikachu and Eevee levitate as well as the two panic.

Suddenly, Medicham's trainer calmly says, "Medicham…"

Medicham opens its eyes and lowers down to the floor, ceasing its power and causing the levitating objects and Pikachu and Eevee to drop.

"Alright!" Mew says and catches her hat, and Pokemon, "Are you okay?"

They both reassure that they're fine.

The trainer shrugs and says, "My most sincere apologies. My Pokémon unconsciously unleashed a burst of psychic energy. Obviously, it needs more training."

"Medicham." (Forgive me.) Medicham says, and bows to apologize.

Soon, Brock comes over, "Not at all? Who says it's a lack in training? And, anyway, so what if a few things and a Pokémon got picked up and floated around? It happens all the time with a psychic Pokémon. Would you like to have lunch with me?

And with that, Max drags Brock away, "That's enough. She's here for preparation for a contest, not a lunch date.

May then walks over, "Hi, there. I'm so sorry about Brock, he has a habit of doing that every time he sees a beautiful girl."

"Beautiful? You mean me?" The girl replies confused.

"Of course," May says.

The girl thinks about it, but then starts laughing, "Me? Beautiful? Oh, please! You're too much!" and pushes May right into Mew

"Wow! That's some arm she's got!" Max says.

"She's strong," Molly replies.

The girl continues laughing, but soon notices Mew and May are on the ground, "Oh, darn. It looks like I've done it again," Then walks over to May and helps her up, "I'm so sorry. My name is Grace, and this here is my partner, Medicham."

"Medicham," (Nice to meet you.) Medicham says.

"Hi, Grace. I'm May. Nice to meet you both," May says.

Later, the group is having lunch.

"Isn't this great?" Grace says.

However, the group is surprised at how much Grace ate, except for Brock who is in dream land.

"Pokémon Center food is the best!" Grace says.

"Such a healthy appetite," Brock says, "With my cooking ability and her love of food to inspire me, we'd make the perfect couple!" Then imagine the scenario of Brock and Grace being lovey dovy, "And we'd eat happily ever after."

Then Mew asks, "Uh, hey, Grace? So, I'm sure you're a good trainer. Ever won any Contests?"

"Yep, sure have," Grace answers and shows her three ribbons in her ribbon case, surprising everyone

"Three of them already?" May asks, surprised.

"Wow, that's so cool!" Jen says.

"I'm planning on making it four, if I can win the Fallarbor Contest, even though I know it isn't going to be easy," Grace says.

"Guess you're not the only one who's confident she's going to win," Max says.

"Huh? Whoever said I was sure about winning anything?" May says.

"You did, when we got here five minutes ago," Max says.

May smacks her brother's head, "Why do you always have to embarrass me?!"

Then May says, "The truth is, Grace, this is only my second Pokémon Contest ever."

And Gracey says, "May, that doesn't have anything to do with it. It's not always the coordinator with the most experience who wins in a Pokémon Contest, you know. Who your opponent is has a lot to do with it, and sometimes it's just luck. But the most important thing...the one thing you have to remember above all else is that you'll never be able to win until you can use the power of your Pokémon completely."

"There's so much I don't know; I can't believe I thought I was going to win," May says.

Grace cracks a smile, "Ha! Me and my big mouth once again!"

"No, Grace. It isn't your fault I'm feeling this way," May says, "I couldn't wait to get to Fallarbor Town, but now that I'm here, with all the other contestants around, I'm feeling nervous."

Grace chuckles, "Oh, boy!" Then says, "Don't let the pressure get you down. Tell you what, I'll show you some of Medicham's attacks. Yeah! Watch and learn from an expert!"

"I'd love to," May says with a smile.

Outside the Pokémon Center….

Grace calls out her Pokemon, "Medicham, come on out!"

Medicham comes out.

Then Grace calls out, "Okay, show em your Ice Punch!"

Medicham throws three Ice Punches, causing the icy, sparkling energy to dissipate without a target for the attack to strike while everyone watches in amazement.

"Man, that is one serious Ice Punch!" Tomo says.

Then Grace calls out, "Now combine with Psychic!"

Medicham leaps up, glows and spins around, causing the icy particles to swirl around with it.

"Ice Punch and Psychic make a beautiful looking combination, huh?" Brock says.

"Yep," Grace says.

May says in thought, "So that's a combination move."

Medicham lands on the ground gently and gracefully before kneeling.

"Awesome. I didn't even think it was possible," May says, amazed.

The next day…

May calls out, "Beautifly, Silver Wind!"

Beauitfly launches the attack.

May then calls out, "Combine it with Tackle!"

Beautifly dives forward.

But May quickly says, "Wait! I mean Gust!"

Beautifly stops and launches the attack.

"No, make it String Shot!" May calls out.

Beauitfly fires the attack, but it gets blown all over the place in front of Beautifly before it gets tangled in the silk.

"Poor Beautifly," May says.

Suddenly, a familiar voice says, "Nice work."

May looks back and sees Drew standing by with a rose in hand

"A botched up combination, huh?" Drew says, and smells the rose, "No wonder, you're very indecisive."

"Drew?" May says, surprised.

"Isn't that sweet? You even remember my name after all this time," Drew says and turns to her, "Hi, May," Then tosses the rose to her, which she catches, "Don't get your hopes up, May. The only reason I even came over here was to see your Beautifly again.

"Great. Now you can go," May says, annoyed.

Then Drew asks, "Anyhow, I don't suppose you've won any ribbons yet, have you?"

May just looks around, sheepishly.

"Didn't think so," Drew says, "I did hear two of your friends won one recently. After your last display, I thought you'd have decided to let them handle Pokémon Contests," and walks away.

Soon, May asks, "So how many ribbons do you have, Mr. Perfect?"

"Thought you'd never ask. At the rate I'm going, I'll need a new case soon," Drew says and opens his case to reveal three ribbons, shocking May, "That nice yellow one on the left, won that one just recently. A coordinator with no ribbons but some experience on the Contest circuit really doesn't stand a chance in many competitions like this.

As Drew walked away, May was left shaken a bit before it turned to anger.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket, in one of their disguises, are up to their old tricks.

Jessie comes out and calls out, "Hey, you, man in green. Hi."

"You want to start winning every contest you compete in?" James replies.

The man stops and asks, "What are you selling?"

"Glad you asked," Jessie says, approaching the man, "What we've got here will make you into a Pokémon hero, one that dates supermodels and drinks martinis with tiny umbrellas in them."

And James says, "It's true! Use our secret product and pretty soon, you'll have so many ribbons, you'll need to move to a bigger house.

This captures the man's interest, "Well, what is this product of yours?"

"Well, perhaps we'll let you take a little peek," Jessie says.

"Satisfaction guaranteed or return it with no questions asked," James says.

Soon, Jessie and James escort the man to their stand.

And Jessie says, "This way to Mr. Crock's Pokéblock Shop."

"Where honesty's our middle name," James says.

Both salespeople chuckle.

The man is amazed, "Man, running into you guys was a stroke of luck."

"Yeah! You've got a customer dock!" Jessie and James call out.

The man meets with 'Mr. Crock', who turns out to be Meowth, and reveals to the three spies that this was a Team Rocket scam.

"Welcome," Meowth says and turns around, "You wanna loin how ta win Pokémon Contests easily, right?"

"Well, yes, I suppose," The man answers.

"Then will you swear to secrecy and tell no one what I'm about to say to ya?" Meowth asks.

The man nods nervously as Meowth looks him over with a magnifying glass

Meowth says, "Every contest judge requires: cuteness, cleverness, confidence, of course, classiness and courage. They're called the 5Cs, and every coordinator knows about dem, but I know two more secret requirements dat not even da judges can think of."

The man just sweat drops

"Dese two odda categories can really impress da judges an' make da difference between victory an' defeat in da appeals round of any contest.," Meowth says.

"Alright, then, tell me," The man says.

"Coolness and charismatism," Meowth says.

The man says, confused.

Meowth continues, "Coolness and charismatism. The secret ingredients to winning ribbons.

The man is confused and asks, "Are those even real words?"

Soon, James says, "And there's more! Tell him how it works, doc."

"Tell him how your Pokéblock made my Pokémon a champ in the making," Jessie says.

"Dere, do ya see? Anudda satisfied customer," Meowth says, and gets out a tray of Pokéblock, "Here's what she's talkin' about, good sir, the other half of the magical equation! Just feast your eyes! Pokeblock Gold and Pokeblock Silver. Feedin' your Pokémon a gold block will make it more look cooler an' more become humble, so I recommend using it for Pokémon who often start showboatin' when dey get de upper hand. Increased charisma is what de silver blocks can do, but dere is a side effect dat can cause any an' all Pokémon to do as it does, so don't give it to a misbehavin' Pokémon," And points to Jessie, "Young lady dere, de one wit de Wobbuffet. Open up its mouth, if you please," and laughs before tosses a piece of gold Pokéblock into Wobbuffet's mouth as Jessie holds it open, "Free gold block!" and turns his head back around, "Hey, what's dat sound down there?"

As the man's attention is diverted, Jessie changes Wobbuffet's appearance.

Meowth turns around in surprise, "Oh, my woid!"

The man turns around and sees Wobbuffet wearing a trench coat and hat, like a detective.

"Wobbuffet. (What's up, bub?) Wobbuffet says.

The guy is clearly amazed, "Look at it! Alright, tell me the price!"

"You got it!" Meweth says.

Later, the man rushes to the Fallarbor Stadium with some of Team Rocket's 'Pokéblock' in hand.

As the man calls out, "Fallarbor ribbon, here I come!"

"That was fun," Jessie says.

"Sure was," James says.

Jessie questions, "Think he'd be mad if he found out this is just ordinary Pokéblock?"

"With a custom paint job with this edible paint that we bought online," James chuckles.

"If the rest of these Pokémon coordinators are half as gullible as that one was…" Jessie says.

"We'll soon be rolling in dough!" James says.

"And we know how much da boss likes dat," Meowth says.

"Which means substance and value and worth!" Team Rocket cheers.

"Wobbuffet (Got that right.) Wobbuffet says.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group are at the Pokémon Center.

"Hey, Max, you seen May?" Mew asks.

"She's probably off practicing somewhere. She was already gone when I woke up," Max says.

"Come to think of it, I haven't seen Brock either," Mew says.

"Oh, he's around," Jen says and points to her right.

What the three guys see is Brock flirting with a bunch of female coordinators.

"Looks like he's practicing, too," Mew sheepishly says.

Everyone looks and sees Drew across the lobby.

"Drew!" Mew says.

Drew turns to see them, "Well, your May's group of friends, right?"

"Yeah, we met before. I should've known you'd be here," Mew says.

"I just came to collect another ribbon so I can be one step closer to entering the Grand Festival. Are any of you entered in the contest, too?" Drew replies.

"Nope. We're all here to cheer May on, and I plan to wait until the next contest, and try to think of a new contest move," Mew says, "And also plan to earn my next gym badge."

"Really? So you're competing in contests and gym battles?" Drew asks.

"Yep," Mew answers.

"Sounds like you're a tough girl to compete in both gym battles and contests" Drew says.

He then asks, "Why don't you and me have a little battle."

"You want a battle with me? For real?" Mew asks.

"Just because I'm a Pokémon coordinator doesn't mean my battling skills aren't top notch," Drew says.

"Great! Ready when you are!" Mew says.

A bit later, the battle is well underway as Taillow is flying into battle.

"Alright, Taillow, Quick Attack!" Mew calls out.

Taillow flies for the attack and lands hard on Roselia, only for it to recover in midair.

Drew then calls out, "Roselia, Magical Leaf!"

Roselia launches the attack.

Mew calls out, "Taillow, dodge it!"

Taillow does so easily.

"Keep it up, Taillow!" Max calls out.

Then Drew calls out, "Use Petal Dance."

Roselia spins around rapidly as she fires the attack.

"Fly higher and dodge it!" Mew calls out.

Taillow does so, just as easily as before

"Alright! Good job, Taillow!" Mew cheers.

Flashback:

A moment ago back in the Pokémon Center, discussing the match.

"Let's try that one more time," Drew asks.

"How come? Taillow has a clear advantage over Roselia so the same thing's going to happen," Mew asks.

"Answer my question, where's the fun in the challenge if I just go up against a Pokémon I know I can beat easily?" Drew says.

"Yeah, I can understand that," Mew says.

Flashback ends:

"You want a challenge? You got one!" Mew says, and calls out "Go, Taillow, Peck attack!"

Taillow divebombs towards Roselia.

Drew calls out, "Stun Spore, Roselia."

The spores are soon spread.

"Taillow, climb and dodge!" Mew calls out.

Elsewhere, May spots the battle from afar.

"What's this?" May says, confused, "Taillow?" But why is Mew battling? And who's she's battling against?"

Back on the battlefield, a small gust of wind sends Taillow towards the Stun Spore.

"Look out!" Mew calls out.

Taillow barely dodges just in time, but also ends up hitting a bit of its wing.

May soon arrives and is shocked to see the battle.

Drew notices May, "Just in time for the best part, May. Okay, finish up with Solar Beam!"

Roselia charges the attack as Taillow tries to stay airborne.

"Pull up, Taillow!" Mew calls out.

Soon Solar Beam has been fired, and Taillow just dodge, just barely and it ends up hitting Taillow's wing.

"Taillow!" Mew and May cry out.

Taillow soon begins to fall to feel the pain in its wing. Luckily, it's able to land easily.

"Taillow, are you okay?" Mew asks.

Taillow nods in response, but feels exhausted and injured, collapses on the ground.

Brock announces, "Taillow is unable to continue, Roselia wins! Drew is the victor!"

"Taillow, return," Mew says.

Then turns to Drew, "That was an intense battle, Drew, but a really great one."

"Yeah. You put up quite a great battle," Drew says.

"You too," Mew says.

Shocked, Mew softly says, "Whoa. I can't believe Ashley lost."

"Believe it, I'll explain why. In any battle, be it the battle round of a Pokémon Contest or a gym battle or even in a regular battle out on the side of the road, you have to be on the same wavelength as your Pokémon if you want to win," Drew says, "But that can be the trickiest part about it, because if a trainer gets confused so does their Pokémon. But that's the true essence of teamwork."

May is left devastatingly shocked by what Drew had said.

Later that night, May thinks about what Grace and Drew had said before Beautifly lands on her head.

"Hi, Beautifly," May says, and remembers what Grace and Drew told her, "Oh, boy."

The next day, people are lined up at Team Rocket's Pokéblock stand.

Jessie calls out, "That's right, step right up! Imagine if you will, a Pokémon eats this Pokéblock."

"And then, its increased coolness and humility or charisma immediately!" Meowth says.

"Wooobbuffet," (Got that right.) Wobbuffet says.

James' Cacnea soon strolls by looking all dolled up while James himself is disguised as a woman.

"Wow! How cute is that?" A person says.

"This Pokéblock must've caused it," Another person says.

All the people around start clamoring for the Team Rocket brand of Pokéblock as Mew, Pikachu, Eevee, May, and Beautifly walk by.

"What's going on?" May asks.

"Somethings going on?" Mew wonders.

With that, Mew and May decide to investigate.

One man says, "Wow, they're going to sell out quickly."

"Sell out of what quick?" Mew asks.

"Miracle Pokeblocks, silver and gold," The man says.

Meowth soon spots the girls, "Oh no! Two twoips!"

"You're right," Jessie says, nervously.

James says, nervously, "Team, stay calm."

Mew, May, and the Pokemon look at the Pokeblocks.

May has taken an interest, "Wow. If this miracle Pokeblock really does work and improve a Pokemon's abilities. Then maybe it could help me and my Beautifly," And a thought comes to mind, "I could win the contest!" And picks one silver Pokeblock, "All I have to do is give one of these cubes to Beautifly and I won't have to worry about a thing."

Mew picks up a gold Pokeblock and gives it a sniff.

Mew then asks, "Excuse me, can you tell me what's in these Pokeblocks?"

"I agree with you, Ashley!" Grace's voice appears.

Everyone looks and sees Grace and her Medicham on the scene.

"I was about to ask the same thing. Just what exactly is your 'miracle' Pokéblock made of, huh?" Gracey replies.

"What do you mean, Grace?" May asks.

"That's what I want to know," Mew says, and turns to Team Rocket, "What berries do you use in them?"

Team Rocket grows nervous and not sure how to answer.

Grace then asks Team Rocket, "She asked you a question. What berries did you use?"

Jessie and Meowth sheepishly chuckle.

"Good question," Meowth says.

"So, answer her already!" Jessie shouts.

"Berries were involved?" Meowth replies, nervously.

"Just as I suspected," Grace says.

Mew then puts the Pokeblock back, "Then I don't want it. I'm not giving anything to my Pokemon without knowing what's in them. I don't want my Pokemon getting sick."

"Good job, Ashley," Grace says. Then announces to the crowd, "Listen, everyone, why would you give something to your Pokémon without knowing what's in it?"

That makes the crowd realize it.

Then Grace says, "If you were true coordinators, you'd be mixing up your own Pokéblock rather than relying on shortcuts and magic, or even premade Pokeblocks, right?

May soon realizes it herself, "She's right. But I... Just thought that…" and starts tearing up, "I should've realized, this isn't how I want to win," She then drops the Pokéblock cube and falls to her knees, "I'm so sorry, Beautifly!"

When May drops the Pokéblock cube, it crumbles when it hits the ground.

While Beautifly consoles May.

Mew looks down to see the crumble Pokeblocks, and has a suspicious feeling and turn to Team Rocket. Grace also turns her attention to Team Rocket.

Grace then calls out, "Okay, Medicham, Psychic!"

Medicham makes the disguises on Team Rocket's Pokémon levitate away, shocking James while worrying Jessie and Meowth before Grace starts snickering.

Grace snickers, "What a scam! I can't believe you all fell for that! They were just phonies!" And laughs.

"I knew there's something fishy going on here!" Mew says. Then turns to Team Rocket, "The jig's up con artist, or should I be saying, Team Rocket!"

But as Grace laughs, Team Rocket's balloon emerges.

"No doubt that's Team Rocket!" May says.

"You know those clowns?" Grace asks.

"Unfortunately, Yes!" Mew says.

And Team Rocket performs the motto.

Jessie:

Prepare for trouble, I suppose.

James:

Make it double, you saw through our clothes!

Jessie:

To protect the world from devastation.

James:

To unite all peoples within our nation.

Jessie:

To denounce the evils of truth and love.

James:

To extend our reach to the stars above.

Jessie: (removes her disguise)

Jessie!

James: (removes his disguise)

James!

Jessie:

Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light.

James;

Surrender now or prepare to fight, fight, fight!

Meowth:

Meowth! Dat's right!

Wobbuffet:

Woooobbuffet! (That's a wrap!)

"What do you want, Team Rocket?!" May asks.

"Wait, how do you and your friends know these guys?" Grace asks.

Mew then explains, "Team Rocket is a group of rotten crooks who steal Pokemon and always follow me and my friends wherever we go!"

"And they keep trying to steal my friend's Pikachu and Eevee, too!" May adds.

"That so?" Grace replies.

"Hi. It's so nice to meet you, but I'm sorry, we have to steal and run. Pleasure doing business," Jessie says.

James then gets out a remote, "I'll just grab some things and we'll go."

James presses a button on the remote and sends out multiple mechanical arms that grab the smaller Pokémon.

"Beautifly!" May cries out.

Even Grace's Medicham is grabbed.

"Medicham!" Grace calls out.

Even Pikachu and Eevee have been grabbed.

"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew cries out.

"Ha! Now dat's a clutch move!" Meowth says.

"So long, suckers!" Jessie calls out.

Jessie and James call out, "Better luck next time!"

"Come back here!" May cries out.

Soon, Grace calls out, "Go, Medicham, Psychic!"

Medicham performs the attack to let the five mechanical arms let go of their captives, who promptly return to their owners.

"Beautifly!" May says in relief.

"Pikachu. Eevee," Mew says and hugs them.

This has Team Rocket worried, "Wow. Good attack."

Mew angrily says, "Team Rocket! This is low even for you three!"

"First you sell fake Pokéblock and then you try to steal Pokémon?!" Mays says.

She then calls out Beautifly, String Shot, go!" May says.

The silk fires and nabs the balloon

James shouts and calls out, "That does it! Cacnea, Pin Missile!"

Cacnea comes out and fires the attack, snapping the silk thread.

Jessie then calls out, "Seviper, Poison Tail!"

Seviper comes out.

Grace calls out, "Medicham, High Jump Kick!"

Medicham attacks Seviper hard as Cacnea fires another Pin Missile.

"Beautifly, Tackle, now!" May calls out.

Beautifly lands the attack after dodging the oncoming Pin Missile.

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt! Eevee, use Swift!" Mew calls out.

Eevee performs Swift and Pikachu performs Thunderbolt. Both of them combined cause damage to the two Pokemon.

Then Grace calls out, "Alright! Medicham, finish them with Ice Punch!

Medicham performs and nails both Pokémon at once with a dual Ice Punch, sending them flying back to their trainers' balloon and sending the whole thing flying into the distance.

"We're blasting off again!" Team Rocket cries out.

"Yay, we did it!" May cheers.

Pikachu, Eevee, and Medicham land on her feet.

"You were fantastic, May! You too, Ashley," Grace says.

"It was all thanks to you, Grace," May says.

But Grace started snickering again, "No way! Give yourself and Ashley some credit, May. You're both more powerful than you realize."

"Appreciate it," Mew says.

"Thanks. I'll try to remember that," May says.

Later that day, the Pokémon Contest is ready to begin, and Mew and the rest of the gang are in the audience.

"It's almost time to start," Brock says.

"Finally," Tomo says.

Max says, "Hey! There's Grace!"

"Yeah. and there's Drew, too," Tomo says.

"And look who's next to him," Jen adds.

"Yeah. It's May," Mew says.

May looks next to her to see Drew, who just chuckles.

Looks like May just drew some pretty tough competition in this Pokémon Contest. Her saving grace could be that she and Beautifly are just beginning to discover the true extent of their powers. May the best trainer win.
