Episode 60: Luminating Contest and Past
It's the day of the Lumina City Pokemon Contest, and everyone is at the Contest Hall. Among them are Mew and her friends, as Mew is ready for her Pokemon Contest.
"Well Ashley, it's almost time for the contest," Brock says.
"Give it everything you got," Zinnia says.
"You too, Florges," Molly says.
"Thanks guys," Mew says.
"Flor Flor," (Thank you.) Florges says.
Then Mew says, "I'm pretty excited, but I know that I'll be facing other coordinators. So I need to give it my all."
"That's the spirit," May says.
"You can do it," Max says.
"We'll be rooting for you," Jen says.
"Thanks," Mew says.
Not long after, Mew is now in the dressing room as she sits and waits for the contest to begin.
"Hey Ashley!" Mika's voice calls out.
Mew turns to see Mika approaching her.
"Hi Mika, you made it," Mew says.
"Of course I did. This is where I'm going to earn my third ribbon," Mika says.
Mew giggles, "Glad to see you're in good spirits," but then smiles with determination, "Although, I plan on making this my second ribbon. Let's be sure to give it our all."
"That's the spirit, but just so you know, I don't plan on losing," Mika says.
"Me neither," Mew says.
Then the two girls begin laughing, unaware that Giselle is watching them from a distance. She can't help but smile to see Mew giggling. However, she soon shows a sad expression.
"Oh Hanako," Giselle says, worried.
And another person spying on them is Jessie, dressed in one of her disguises is also nearby, "Well, those girls are being chummy. Too bad that I'm going to win this contest."
Moments later, the Lumina City Pokemon Contest begins. And now Vivian is on the center of the battlefield with her microphone at stand.
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen, to the Lumina City's Pokemon Contest. I'm your host Vivian, and you can feel the excitement here," Vivian says.
Then turns to the judges, "And allow me to introduce you to our panel of judges. Director of the Pokemon Contest, Mr. Contesta. The President of the Pokemon Fanclub, Mr. Sukizo. And lastly, our own Lumina City Nurse Joy."
At the seat, Brock, and the rest of the gang are sitting and are excited for the performance.
"I'm really excited," Molly says.
"Me too. I can't wait to see what Florges can do," May says.
"I'm sure they'll do great out there," Brock says.
And with that, Vivian announces, "And if you're all ready, we will begin our appeals round of the contest, and here's our first Coordinator, Mika from Mauville City,"And soon, Mika runs out with her Pokeball at hand.
"Hey look," Zinnia says.
"It's Mika," May says.
"Looks like she's up first," Brock says.
Mika then begins to throw his Pokeball, "Alright Flaaffy, I choose you!"
And with a throw from her Pokeball, Flaaffy comes out, and allows itself to bounce on its tail before performing a backflip and lands on its feet. Everyone happily claps.
Vivian says, "And Flaaffy makes a fun and creative entrance."
In the dressing room, Mew is watching Mika with her performance.
"Wow. Flaaffy made a great entrance and it has a big smile on its face," Mew says.
On the battlefield, Mika calls out, "Flaaffy, use Electro Ball!"
With that, Flaaffy performs Electro Ball, and begins to toss it in the air, and bounces it with its tail.
"Now, toss it in the air," Mika calls out.
Flaaffy does just that.
"Now use Power Gem!" Mika calls out.
Flaaffy fires Power Gem at the Ball and it fuses together, causing it to spark and sparkle. Everyone is amazed.
"Amazing. It's sparkling bright, and a unique way to use an Electric and Rock Type Attack," Vivan says.
"Now, use Electroweb!" Mika calls out.
Flaaffy performs Eletroweb and it catches the Electro Ball and it sparks even more. Everyone is amazed to see the sparks coming out. Soon, Flaaffy is able to bounce it on its head, and it doesn't affect it at all. And with that, Flaaffy tosses it in the air.
"And let's wrap it up with Dazzling Gleam!" Mika calls out.
Flaaffy fires the Dazzling Gleam at the ball, and it explodes into sparkle, sparkles, and dazzling glitter. Everyone claps and cheers in excitement.
"Mika and her Flaaffy have given us a dazzling and electrifying performance," Vivian says. Then turns to the judges, "Let's see what the judges have to say.
On the screen, Mr. Contesta puts out a 9, Mr. Sukizo puts out a 9.5. And lastly Nurse Joy gives out a 9 as well. Making it 27.5
"And Mika has earned a total of 27.5 points. A great way to start out for this contest," Vivian says.
Mika cheers, "Alright."
Even her Flaaffy is happy.
"And now, let's continue on with our next contestant," Vivian says.
And soon, more coordinators perform with their Pokemon. There's a Combusken, A Blastoise, a Castform, and even a Raichu. And each of them, the judges rate them on their performance, some are either higher or lower than others.
And soon, Jessie also takes the stage. Of course, she is in a disguise and goes by the name of Jesselyn.
Jessie throws a couple of apples and calls out, "Seviper, use Poison Tail!"
And with that Silver performs the attack and cuts the apples into multiple slices.
"And now, you know what to do!" Jessie calls out.
And with that, Seviper bounces the apple slices on its tail. Many begin laughing and have a good time. And with that, Seviper bounces each apple slice in its mouth and eats the apples. That makes the audience laugh as Silver shouts its satisfaction.
From the judges, Jessie receives a 9.5, 9, and a 8.5, which total to 27 points.
Then Vivian announces, "And now we have our next contestant, Giselle from Virbank City."
Giselle then walks over and soon calls out her Pokemon, "Gothitelle, it's time for you to shine."
And soon Gothitelle has been called out and is taking center stage.
"Gothitelle, use Psybeam!" Giselle calls out.
Gothitelle performs Psybeam and fires it in the air.
Then Giselle calls out, "Now, use Psychic!"
And with that, Gothitelle uses Psychic on the Psybeam and has it swirling around in spectacular feet. Gothitelle moves the Psybeam attack and itself around, like it's ribbon dancing.
"Wow. What a unique way to use Psychic moves for ribbon dancing," Vivan says.
Then Giselle calls out, "Use Thunder Wave!"
And with that, Gothitelle uses Thunder Wave and it flows across the Psybeam, causing it to sparkle.
"Amazing, look at it sparkle," Nurse Joy says.
"Really remarkable," Mr. Sukizo says.
Then Giselle says, "Gothitelle, let's finish it up my dear."
And soon enough, Gothitelle has used Psychic to stop and spiral the Psybeam in a swirl, and with that, it explodes with a flash and sparkles appear. Everyone claps and cheers.
"What a spectacular performance, judges, the final score," Vivian says.
Soon, Mr. Contesta gives Giselle a 10. Mr. Sukizo gives her a 9.5. Lastly, Nurse Joy also gives her a 10.
"Wow. What an incredible score of 29.5, the highest score yet," Vivian says.
At the stand, Brock and the others are surprised by Giselle's performance.
"Wow. Giselle is really good," Jen says.
"Yeah. And with a score like that, she's going to be tough to beat," Brock says.
"I'm sure Mew can do something once the second round. Well, we'll need to wait and see if she gets in," Zinnia says.
Soon, Vivian announces, "And now for our final contestant, Ashley from Pallet Town."
And soon, Mew, also known as Ashley, is now on the battlefield.
Mew then calls out, "Florges, time to take to the stage."
And with that, Florges comes out of the Pokeball and first releases Flower Veil, making flower petals spread across the battlefield.
"And what a great start out of the Pokeball to use Flower Veil," Vivan says.
"Now Florges, use Magical Leaf!" Mew calls out.
Florges performs Magical Leaf and combines with the Flower Veil.
"Anod now add Petal Dance," Mew calls out.
Florges perform Petal Dance and combine the two attacks and it becomes a bit of a flowery tornado of some kind.
"And now, Moonblast!" Mew calls out.
And with that, Florges performs Moonblast and fires the center of the cyclone. And with that, the explosion makes the flowers and leaves descend to the ground with sparkles around it. The audience claps and cheers in response. Then Mew and Florges bow in response.
"What a beautiful performance, and let's see what the judges think," Vivan says.
Mr. Contesta gives Mew a 9. Mr. Sukizo gives her a 10, and Joy also gives her a 10.
"And the judges have given her a score of 29. It's a great score for a simple, jet fery beautiful performance," Vivan says.
Mew and Florges smile to see the score.
"That was a great performance," May says.
"Yeah. Florges was amazing as well," Max says.
Molly says, "Mew was great too."
In the dressing room, Mew walks back inside and sits down to relax.
Mew smiles, "We did very well, Florges, but if we make it to the second round, we still have the battle."
Mika walks over, "Hey Ashley, you were great out here."
"Thanks Mka, you did too. Flaaffy looked like she was having fun," Mew says.
"Thanks," Mika says.
Giselle then walks over, "I have to admit, you did very well. Your performance is simple, but has elegance and grace, representing your Florges. However, remember to keep in mind that in battle, simplicity may not always be enough."
"Um, thank you Giselle. Still your Gothitelle was really beautiful out there," Mew says.
"Thank you," Giselle says with a calm smile.
Then turns to Mika, "And you and your Pokemon sure look like you have fun with your performance, but in the second round, it's when you need to be serious."
"I'm always serious when it comes to contests," Mika says, rolling her eyes.
Soon, they hear Vivan announce, "And now, with the first round finished, we will announce our winning coordinators," then presents to the screen, "Here are the eight coordinators who will move on to the second round."
Mew and the others look to see the scores, Giselle is first, then Mew, then Mika, along with Jessie, and four other coordinators.
"Here they are," Vivan says.
At the stand, the gang are happy.
"She made it," May says.
"Mika did too," Jen says.
"And the other girl, Giselle, is in as well with the highest score," Brock says.
In the dressing room, Mew says, "Alright, I'm in."
"So am I," Mika says.
Giselle nods, "We did well."
Jessie says with confidence, "Was there no surprise for us to get in. I can almost feel that victory now as I wipe the smiles off of everyone's face."
Vivan says, "And now, the computer will shuffle the remaining contestants. Look at the screen for the match up."
And with that, the computer screen shuffles the pictures around. And soon, the decision has been made.
"And here is the matchup for the battle," Vivian says.
It reveals that Jessie will be in the first battle, Mew in the second, Giselle in third, and Mika in the fourth battle.
"Now which coordinator will make it to the semi finals and then to the finals to win the Lumina Ribbon," Vivian says.
Mew says, "Well I don't plan on losing."
"Me neither," Mika says.
Giselle nods, and says in thought, "Hanako, you are just like your father, but you are also like your mother."
And with that, the second round continues, Florges defeats Volbeat with Petal Dance. Seviper is able to defeat a Primeape with Iron Tail. Gothitelle defeats Jolteon with Psychic. Lastly, Flaaffy is able to defeat a Charmeleon with Thunderbolt.
"It's been an amazing battle, as our coordinators battle out for the next round. And now we've reached the semi finals, and here are our four coordinators," Vivan says.
And soon, it's revealed that Mew/Ashley is battling against Jessie/Jesselyn and Mika is battling against Giselle.
"And we'll be starting with the first battle of the second round Ashely against Jesselyn. And with five minutes on the battle, let the battle begin," Vivian announces.
And with that, the countdown begins.
Jessie then calls out, "Seviper, I choose you!"
And Seviper comes out.
"Florges, I choose you!" Mew calls out.
Florges comes out of the Pokeball and onto the battlefield.
Jessie calls out, "Seviper, use Poison Tail!"
Seviper then performs Iron Tail.
"Quick, use Safeguard!" Mew calls out.
Florges performs Safeguard and it deflects the Poison Tail.
Soon, Jessie loses a few points.
"The Safeguard is able to protect Florges, and causes Jesselyn to lose points," Vivian says.
"Alright Seviper, time to take to the sky and dive for a Wrap Attack," Jessie says.
And with that, Seviper begins to fly in the air.
"And wow, Seviper is flying in the air," Vivan says.
And dives down from a Warp Attack.
"Florges use…" But before Mew can finish, something shines at her face, "What?" She tries to continue, "Use Petal Dance."
Florges tries to use the attack, but the strange light blinds Florges. Before she can react, Seviper traps her in a Wrap Attack.
"And Seviper has trapped Florges," Vivian says.
Brock and the others grow worried.
"Come on Ashley," Mew says.
"Florges needs to get out of that Wrap Attack," Tomo says.
In the dressing room, Mika and Giselle watch the battle.
Mew then calls out, "Florges, use Disarming voice!"
And with that, Florges performs Disarming Voice on Seviper, forcing it to let go.
"And Florges is able to break free," Vivan says.
Then Mew calls out, "Now, use Magical Leaf!"
Florges then performs Magical Leaf, and strikes Seviper, causing a combination of hearts and music notes with magical lead. Along with Seviper and Jessie losing points.
"And now Florges counters and Jesselyn is losing points,"
Jessie mutters, "Time for my secret plan."
Then calls out, "Seviper, use Haze and cover the battlefield!"
And with that, Seviper spreads, which covers the battlefield.
"Wow. Seviper Haze has covered the entire field, and can't see the action," Vivian says.
"Florges, use Fairy Wind!" Mew calls out.
Florges tries to use the attack, but something hits her from above.
"Seviper, use Bite!" Jessie calls out.
Seviper charges in and bites Florges, causing Florges to lose points.
"Florges, use Disarming voice!" Mew calls out.
Florges tries to use the attacks, but something hits her from behind and seems to be coming from above.
"Now, use Wrap!" Jessie calls out
Seviper then performs Wrap and is holding on to Florges.
"What's going on?! With the Haze it is hard to tell!" Vivan calls out.
Mew says in thought, "What's going on? Florges seems to be having trouble attacking, and I can't see. I need to think of something."
Unknown to anyone, James and Mewoth are both hiding in the ceiling of the battlefield. They both have a mirror and a flashlight, and Meowth is ready to perform an attack.
"Looks like Jessie is going to win," James says.
"Yeah. Getting the twerpette distracted with my PayDay and the mirror is a great strategy," Meowth says.
"She just needs to finish the battle and move on," James says.
Jessie then calls out, "Now Seviper, finish it with Poison Tail!"
Seviper then prepares the attack.
Then Mew has an idea, "Florges, use Petal Blizzard!"
Meowth then uses his attack, "PayDay!" and launches the attack.
However, Florges is able to perform Petal Blizzard, forcing Seviper to let go, and knocking the PayDay attack away. When that happens, Florges also remove the Haze Attack.
"Amazingly, Florges has performed Petal Blizzard that knocks Seviper off, and counter the attacks," Vivan says.
"And now, use Moonblast!" Mew calls out.
Florges then performs Moonblast and strikes Seviper with full force, and is knocked out. And with that, the judges present 'x' on their screen.
Vivan announces, "And with that Seviper is unable to battle. Florges wins the round and along with Ashley will be moving on to the finals."
"Alright," Mew says, amazed.
She then walks to Florges, "You were great, are you okay?"
Florges nods in response.
Mew soon looks down to notice something, "What's that?" she then picks it up to reveal a coin, "Is this Payday? Where did it come from?"
Up on the ceiling, James and Meowth groan to see Jessie's plan didn't work.
"Well, that didn't end well," James says.
"That Florges has done a powerful Petal Blizzard," Meowth says.
"And with the first round completed, we'll be moving on to the second battle of our contest," Vivian says.
And soon enough, Mika and Giselle are now battling against each other in the second battle of the semi-final.
"And with five minutes on the clock, let's begin," Vivan says.
And with that, the countdown begins.
Giselle then calls out her Pokemon, "Gothitelle, I choose you."
And Gothitelle comes out.
Mika then calls out her Pokemon, "Go Flaaffy!"
And Flaaffy comes out.
Mika calls out, "Alright Flaaffy, let's start with Electro Web!"
Flaaffy then performs Electro Web and fires at Gothitelle.
Giselle then calls out, "Gothitelle, use Psychic!"
Gothitelle then uses Psychic to stop the Electro Web and then throws it back, causing Flaaffy to get caught and shocked.
"Amazing, Gothitelle is able to stop the Electro Web and throws it back at Flaaffy," Vivan says, "And Mika is losing points."
On the screen, it shows Mika is losing points.
"Yikes," Mew says.
"That must have hurt," Molly says.
Gothitelle then calls out, "Now, use Psybeam!"
Gothitelle then performs Psybeam.
"Flaaffy, use Thunder Shock!" Mika calls out.
Flaaffy performs the attack and hits the Psybeam, making it go sparkly upon impact.
"And Flaaffy is able to counter, causing Giselle to lose points," Vivian says.
And the screen shows that Giselle is losing points.
"Now Flaaffy, use Electro Ball!" Mika calls out.
Flaaffy performs Electro Ball and throws it at Gothitelle.
Giselle calls out, "Use Psychic and throw it back!
Gothitelle stops the Electro Ball and throws it back towards Flaaffy.
"Flaaffy, use Iron Tail, to hit it back!" Mika calls out.
Flaaffy does just that, and hits the Electro Ball like a baseball.
"Gothitelle, send it back!" Giselle calls out.
Gothitelle sends it back with Psychic.
"Use Iron Tail again!" Mika calls out.
Flaaffy does just that.
Both of them continue to call the attack and send the Electro Ball right back at each other.
"Amazing, this has turned into a Electro Ball toss, and both Mika and Giselle are losing points," Vivian says.
The two continue to use their attack to send the Electro Ball at each other, but counter.
Soon, Giselle has an idea and calls out, "Use Shadow Ball!"
And with that Gothitelle fires the Shadow Ball, causing it to combine the Electro Ball and sets off a powerful explosion. Since it's close to Flaaffy, it ends up with a large blow.
"Now Gothitelle, use Zen Heabutt!" Giselle calls out.
Gothitelle charges for the attack.
Then Mila calls out, "Use Take Down!"
Flaaffy then charges over and both attacks collide. And with that, a powerful force pushes them back.
And soon, Giselle calls out, "Now, use Psybeam!"
Gothitelle then performs Psybeam and it hits Flaaffy with full force. Flaaffy lands on the ground and struggles to get out. And soon enough, all of Mika's points have run to zero.
"And that's a wrap. Mika has run out of points meaning that Gothitelle wins, and Giselle will be moving on to the final round," Vivan says.
Mika sighs, "I guess that's the way it rolls."
Flaaffy feels down for losing.
Mika smiles, "It's okay, Flaaffy, you did great out there," Then calls back her Pokemon, "You get a good long rest."
"Wow. Mika lost," May says.
"Mew is going to need the strategy she can get to face her," Max says.
"I'm sure she'll think of something," Tomo says.
In the dressing room, Mew is surprised to see that Mika has lost, and now, she'll be battling against Giselle for the final round, and for the Lumina City ribbon.
"I'll be going up Giselle. I'll need to be extra careful when facing her," Mew says.
Moments later, Mew and Giselle are making their way to the battlefield for the final round of the battle.
Mew turns to Giselle, "You Giselle, you're really good."
"Thank you, you aren't bad yourself," Giselle says.
"Thanks. I wish you the best of luck, but I plan to win that ribbon," Mew says.
"You as well, Mew," Giselle says.
"What?" Mew questions.
Suddenly, Giselle then gives Mew a hug, "Yes. I know who you are, Mew… or rather… Hanako."
Mew gasps in shock, "You… you know my birth name?"
"Yes. I have known you ever since you really small," Giselle says.
"So, you know my birth parents?" Mew asks.
Giselle nods and says, "I promise to explain things to you after the final round. And I promise no matter what happens in this contest, you'll do great there. And I wish you the best of luck. However, I don't plan on holding back."
"Me neither," Mew says, and is now showing some determination.
Soon enough, Mew and Giselle are on the battlefield, on opposite sides.
Vivian announces, "And now ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for. The final battle of the Lumina City contest. Who will take the ribbon, Ashley of Pallet Town or Giselle of Virbank City?"
"You can do it, Ashley!" Zinnia calls out.
"We're rooting for you!" Jen calls out.
"You can beat her!" May calls out.
"And begin the countdown," Vivian says, and with that, the countdown begins.
Giselle then calls out, "Gothitelle, I choose you!"
And Gothitelle comes out of the Pokeball.
Mew then calls out, "Florges, lets go!"
And Florges comes out of the Pokeball.
Mew then makes the first move, "Florges, use Magical Leaf Attack!"
Florges then performs Magical Leaf.
Then Giselle calls out, "Gothitelle, use Psychic to repel the Magical Leaf."
Gothitelle then uses Psychic to move the Magical Leaf around it and throws it back at Florges.
"Quick, use Safeguard!" Mew calls out.
Florges quickly performs Safeguard to deflect the attack.
"Gothitelle turns the Magical Leaf back at Florges, but Florges is able to deflect the attack, and it causes both points to go down," Vivian says.
And the screen shows that both points begin to go down.
Giselle then calls out, "Gothitelle, use Psybeam!"
Gothitelle performs Psybeam Attack towards Florges.
"Quick Florges, dodge and use Petal Dance!" Mew calls out.
Florges quickly dodges the attack and uses Petal Dance, and Gothitelle ends up getting hit.
"And Florges is able to hit Gothitelle with Petal Dance!" Vivian calls out.
But then Giselle calls out, "Use Psychic!"
Gothitelle uses Psychic levitate itself and stops the Petal Dance.
"Amazing, Gothitelle is able to stop Petal Dance while in midair, that's gonna cause Ashley some points," Vivian says.
And it's right, Mew is losing points.
"And now, throw it back with Zen Headbutt!" Giselle calls out.
Gothitelle does just that and mananges to strike at, causing Mew to lose more points.
"Now, use Psychic to lift Florges in the air," Giselle calls out.
Gothitelle does just that, and Florges finds herself in the air. And time is running out at 1:30 minutes.
"Mew is losing a lot of points," May says.
"And time is running out," Jen says.
"She gotta think of something or she'll lose," Brock says.
"I need to think of something, but Psychic will just throw it right back," Mew says in thought.
Suddenly, Mew has an idea and calls out, "Florges, use Petal Blizzard!"
Florges struggles to use the attack.
Giselle calls out, "Gothitelle keep holding on."
And Gothitelle continues to hold on.
"Come on, Florges, you can do it! I know you can!" Mew calls out.
Soon, Florges is able to regain herself and lets out a powerful Petal Blizzard attack with full force.
"Wow. and that is a very powerful Petal Blizzard!" Vivan calls out.
Soon, Gothitelle is forced to let go, and is getting hit and blown around by the attack.
"Gothitelle!" Giselle calls out.
"Alright!" Mew cheers excited.
"Florges did it," May says.
"Mew has a chance of winning because she knows Gothitelle might use Psychic," Brock says.
Mew calls out, "Florges, use Disarming Voice!"
And Florges performs Disarming Voice and is able to hit Gothitelle.
"Gothitelle, use Psybeam!" Giselle calls out.
Gothitelle fires the attack.
"Dodge and use Petal Dance!" Mew calls out.
Florges dodges and strikes Gothitelle with the attack with full force.
"Now, Moonblast!" Mew calls out.
Florges then performs Moonblast and is able to strike at Gothitelle with full force, which causes Giselle to lose more points. Gothitelle is struggling to get up and Florges is starting to get tired.
"Gothitelle, use Psybeam!" Giselle calls out.
"Florges, use Moonblast!" Mew calls out.
Both Pokemon charge in for the attack. Just then, the timer reaches zero.
"And time has run out!" Vivian announces.
Both Pokemon stop their attacks.
Mew and Giselle are shocked to hear that time is out.
"And the winner of the Lumina city Pokemon Contest is…" Vivian announces.
Everyone looks at the screen to see that both Mew and Giselle are almost out, and it's close… very close. Just then, the screen shows Mew/Ashley and Florges.
"Ashley!" Vivian announces.
Everyone claps and cheers with excitement.
"She did it!" Zinnia says.
"That was a great contest battle," Max says.
"And they both did great," Jen says.
Mew sighs in relief and smiles, "We did it."
Florges is also tired, but smiles to hear that she and her trainer won.
Giselle is disappointed that she lost, but smiles and says, "That was an amazing contest battle."
Gothitelle feels disappointed as well.
Giselle walks to Gothitelle and smiles, "You did great, Gothitelle."
Gothitelle shows a small smile and nods.
She looks at Mew and Florges as they hug each other, and are happy that they won.
Giselle smiles and says, "You did really well, Hanako. Or rather, Mew, and Ashley of course. You're truly like your mother, Eliza."
Moments later, Mew and Florges are in the center field to receive her ribbon.
Vivian says, "And now the judges will present the Lumina Ribbon as the Lumina City Pokemon Contest draws to a close. Congratulations, Ashley."
Mew smiles as she is given her ribbon. The Ribbon is a light yellow ribbon with white lining, along with a gold pin case.
Mew turns to Florges and says, "We did too, Florges. We won."
Florges nods with a smile.
Everyone gives Mew a round of applause for the win.
After the contest has drawn to a close, Mew and the others end up meeting with Giselle to ask her some questions. When Giselle reveals what she knows, this shocks the group.
"Really? So you're really my cousin?" Mew asks, surprised.
Giselle nods, "Yes. Both my father and your father are cousins, so you and I are related as well."
"Wow. So you and Mew are related?" May asks.
"Yes. I actually learned about you from Elias and Carol," Giselle says.
"Really? You met them?" Mew asks.
"Yes. I was really relieved to learn that you were found and raised by a good Pokemon, and was founded by Professor Oak," Giselle says.
"So do you know anything about Mew's parents' disappearance?" Brock asks.
"Sadly, I don't know all the details, except for one thing," Giselle says.
"What's that?" Mew asks.
"Well, I remember during your and your parents' visit, a man paid us a visit, and he was with a group of people," Giselle says, "I don't remember all the details because it happened years ago, but he wanted your father to work for him, and knows how he can understand Pokemon. However, I heard Ichigo shouting and refused."
"And you haven't seen them since?" Mew asks.
"Sadly no, I don't know who those people are, but I had a thought in my mind that they might be involved. However, I have no proof," Giselle says.
"It's okay Giselle. I'm kind of glad that I got to meet you and have a battle with you. You're one tough coordinator," Mew says.
"And you as well, Han… I mean, Ashley. And don't worry, your secret is safe," Giselle says.
"Thank Giselle. I hope we can meet again someday," Mew says.
Giselle smiles and nods.
With the Lumina City Pokemon Contest is behind her, and have won her second ribbon, Mew and her friends will now be traveling to their next destination. And of course, Mew has learned a bit more about her family's relatives and from the sound of it, a possible clue to why they disappeared. Only time will tell when Mew gains more information about her family, and maybe someday, learn about what happened to her birth family.
