Episode 67: Take the Lombre Home

After winning her next ribbon, May is very happy to have another ribbon

"Oh, my little contest ribbons, I just love you so much. I'm never gonna let this box out of my sight," May says, happily.

"Mom and dad are sure gonna be proud of you for winning both of those ribbons," May says.

"I know," May says.

"I can't wait to have my battle with your dad again," Mew says.

"Yeah, since your last one was delayed," Max says, "But remember, my dad is not going to be easy to beat."

"Well, I don't plan on losing anytime soon," Mew says.

"I'm kind of thirsty," Molly says.

"Hey Brock, is there any water in that canteen?" Tomo asks.

"Nope. It's as dry as a bone," Brock answers.

"What?! But I'm really thirsty too," Max says.

"Me too," Molly says.

"Me three," May says.

"Not to worry. For one as prepared as I to not have brought along any water there must be a good reason," Brock says.

"Why?" The group asks.

"Just follow me," Brock says and runs off.

Everyone calls out, "Hey, Brock, wait up!"

Elsewhere in the woods, Team Rocket was up to something, as usual.

"Ah, that glorious feeling of honest thievery," James says.

"Feels good doing some physical labor for da wrong reasons, huh?" Meowth says.

Jessie then spots Mew and the others, "Here they come. And it's almost like we drew those twerps a map."

"To land right in our lap," James says.

"Meaning it's time to set our Poke-trap trap," Meowth says.

"Woooobbu!" (Aaaaand how!) Wobbuffet says.

Back to Mew and the gang.

"You see, there happens to be a freshwater spring in this forest, listed among the world's hundred most famous," Brock says.

"Really? Cool," Mew says.

"Yeah, well, it still gives me the creeps," May says.

"You said it," Max says.

"I actually heard of the water myself," Zinnia says.

"Come on, I'm sure it's not that bad," Mew says.

Suddenly, a Zubat flies out, catching everyone by surprise, save for Brock, Mew, and Zinnia.

"What's that?" Max cries out.

"Calm down, it's only a Zubat," Mew says.

"That really scared us," Jen says.

Brock looks to his immediate right and spots something, "Hey, look at that."

The gang looks to see a Solrock.

"Hey, it's a Solrock," Brock says.

"That's cool," Molly says.

"Let's get a closer look," Mew says.

But just as some of the gang decide to pursue the Solrock, they fall into Team Rocket's trap, and the three arrive.

" Looks like some of you fell for it this time!" Jessie says.

"You three are doing this again?" Mew questions.

"Don't you think it's getting old?" Tomo asks.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it," James says.

" Now we're gonna fix our problem wit you!" Meowth says as he gets out the net.

Then scoop up Pikachu and Eevee.

" We're just taking what's not ours," Team Rocket says.

Suddenly, a corkscrew flame forces Team Rocket to duck out of the way while also causing Meowth to drop the net, freeing Pikachu and Eevee

"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew happily calls out.

Pikachu and Eevee are happy to be back.

. The Solrock the group spotted confronts Team Rocket while the gang climbs out of the hole.

"Hey, you! Get outta here!" James says.

" Keep your nonexistent nose out of our business!" Jessie says.

" Rise an' shine elsewhere!" Meowth says.

Soon, Mew and the others are out of the hole.

"That Solrock is a really cool Pokemon," Max says.

" Yeah," Mew says and gets her Pokedex.

Dextette says, "Solrock, the Meteorite Pokémon. A Rock and Psychic Type. Solrock has the ability to read its opponent's mind. It attacks by rotating quickly while giving off intense heat."

" Very interesting," Jessie says.

" A loinin' experience," Meowth says.

" Truly…" James nods.

But shouts, " What are we talking about?! We hate those twerps!"

Then James calls out, " Cacnea, let's go!"

And Cacnea comes out, but hugs James instead.

" I'd prefer a Pin Missile attack fired at Solrock, please!" James cries out.

Cacnea lets go and fires the attack that hit Solrock, but doesn't flinch.

" Spread your sunshine somewheres else!" Meowth shouts.

Jessie and James agree, " Yeah!"

Team Rocket pounces at Solrock, but it charges up and fires a Solar Beam.

" Whoa, a Solar Beam?!" Mew says.

Team Rocket tries screeching to a halt, but to no avail as the attack hits the ground and sends them blasting off.

Team Rocket cries out, " We're blasting off already?!"

"Wooobbuu!" (Why us?!) Wobbuffet cries out.

When the smoke clears, Solrock has vanished.

"Well, Team Rocket is out of our hair," Zinnia says.

"But where'd Solrock go?" May asks.

" Solrock!" Mew calls out.

"Where you go?" Tomo calls out.

" It's too bad. I was hoping to thank it for helping Pikachu and Eevee," Mew says.

" Well, maybe we'll run into it again on the way to the spring. Speaking of which, let's keep going," Brock says.

"Sounds good," The two agrees.

But when they arrive, they find the spring completely dry.

"Oh, no! It's empty!" Brock cries out.

"What are we going to do now?" May asks.

" Are you sure this is the right place?" Zinnia asks.

"Yeah, it's right on the map," Brock says.

May looks to her left to notice, " Hey, look, guys!"

Everyone looks and sees what May spotted, a village.

"Hey, it's a village," Mew says.

" Villages mean people live nearby, and therefore they must have some water," Zinnia says.

"And just in time. I'm sure they have water down there," Brock says.

However, when they arrive, they see the village looks quiet. Too quiet, almost deserted.

" What is this place?" Max asks.

"A ghost town?" Jen asks.

" Yeah, with a ghost of a river too," Brock asks.

" Maybe our Water Pokemon can help with this," Mew says.

"Good idea," May says.

Mew calls out, "Corphish, Slowpoke, Lugia, I choose you."

Tomo calls out, " Staryu, River, Aqua, Dew."

"Come on out, Mudkip," May says.

"Surskit, let's go," Max says.

Brock then calls out, " Lotad, Mudkip, go!"

And all the Pokemon come out.

Just then, May's Skitty comes out.

Zinnia giggles, " May, I think your Skitty wants to lend a paw."

" Of course you can help us out, Skitty," May says.

Skitty agrees.

"Alright everyone, let's try to find some water," Mew says.

Mudkip and Lugia begin to dig in the river.

" I wonder if they think that might be the right spot to dig up a spring," Mew says.

Skitty suddenly runs off

" Skitty, did you sniff something out?" May asks.

Mudkip and Lotad run after Skitty, followed by the rest of the gang.

"How are you doing there, guys?" Mew asks.

Corphish digs up a clay pot.

Mew giggles, " A clay huh. At least you found something to carry water."

Meanwhile, it turns out that Skitty was attracted by the smell of some flowers.

Mays says, " I know. You just wanted to smell some flowers, didn't you?"

Skitty meows in confirmation.

Not far away, Brock's Mudkip, Tomo's Mudkip, river, and May's little Mudkip found something.

" Sounds like our Mudkips found something," Tomo says.

Everyone rushes over.

" It's a well," Brock says.

"Alright," The kids say.

" Let's see," Mew says.

But when everyone looks inside, they find the well empty as well.

"Even this well is dried up," Brock says, disappointed.

Lotad hops on top of the bucket.

"What's up, Lotad?" Brock asks.

The bucket suddenly tips over, sending Lotad falling along with it.

" Well, THAT was a big buildup to nothing," Mays ays.

Brock calls out, " Hang on, Lotad, I'll pull you up."

In mere moments, Brock does so and pulls him out of the bucket and sets him back on the wall.

" Okay, you're safe and sound. That was quite a fall," Brock says.

Suddenly, Lotad starts glowing.

"Lotad!" Mew says.

" Look at that. It's evolving!" May says.

Lotad morphs until it gets two long arms, two long legs for it to stand upright and a distinctive head before the glow fades to reveal Brock's new Pokémon.

A bipedal plant Pokémon that is mostly green with some light blue markings. Its face, ears, arms, and back are light blue. It has stubby, round ears, large eyes with small pupils, and a red bill-like mouth. There is a large lilypad on its head, which has a notch in it and resembles a sombrero. It has long arms with four red claws and a thumb on each hand and feet with three red claws and a toe. Its entire body is covered in a thin, slimy film that creates an unpleasant sensation when touched.

"Whoa! Brock, your Lotad just became a Lombre!" Max says.

"Cool," Mew says.

May brings out her Pokedex, and Dextette says, " Lombre, the Jolly Pokémon. A Water and Grass Type. Lombre is the evolved form of Lotad. Primarily a nocturnal creature, it is sometimes mistaken for a human child."

"Probably a child with a big hat," Jen says.

"Yeah. A really big one," Molly says.

"Welcome to our team, Lombre," Brock says.

" Lombre." (Thank you very much.) Lombre says.

They suddenly hear a gasp in shock before they all see an elderly woman coming towards them with a hat that looks like Lombre's lily pad.

The woman says, " It's the great and powerful Lombre, I don't believe it!" and kneels before it, "A miracle. Nothing short of a miracle."

May then asks, " Excuse me. Why are you interested in my friend's Lombre?"

The woman turns to the group, "It's the Great Lombre, dearie."

" Um yes, ma'am," May replies.

Then the woman says, "Whenever our little village suffers the slings and arrows of crisis and misfortune, the Great Lombre, our Water Lord, comes.

" Crisis and misfortune?" Jen asks.

" You mean like the river drying up?" Mew asks.

The woman says, " The river didn't just dry up, young man. It was because of that wicked Solrock bringing bad luck to us all."

"You mean Solrock dried up the entire river? By itself?" Mew questions.

Mew says in thought, "I know that Solrock can perform Sunny Day, but this?"

Then the woman calls out, " Everyone! Come and gather at the well!"

Soon, a man and child come out of their home

" What is it, grandma?" A voice asks.

A girl has greenish hair and wears a yellow and pink dress with a scarf.

And Brock becomes smitten, " So very pleased to meet you. My name is Brock, what's yours?"

" Oh, hello. My name is Mary," The girl introduces herself.

" Brock and Mary, huh. That sounds nice, but Mary Mary we're not so contrary, Mary," Brock says.

" Contrary?" Mary questions.

" Meaning different," Max says, and takes his arm, " Let's go," and pulls him away.

Then the elderly woman says, " Behold! The Great Lombre has returned!"

One of the villagers notices, "It's true! It has indeed returned in our time of need! Tallulah was right!"

The other villagers hear of this and gather around the well and kneel before Lombre.

Confused, Mew asks, "Hey Mary, what exactly did your grandmother mean about Solrock bringing bad luck to this village?"

" Are you still going on about that, grandma?" Mary asks.

Tallulah says, "You know I'm only telling you like it is."

" If you say so. Well, I suppose I should try to explain what's going on," Mary says.

" But first, do you have any water?" Max asks.

" Some of us are really thirsty," May says.

A bit later, the gang ends up having a drink of water.

"That's good," Mew says.

"That water was great," Max says.

" At least now we can see why this spring water is considered the best in the world, if not the entire region," May says.

" Well, I'm afraid that our water is the problem," Mary says.

Everyone looks at her

"You see, we're in the middle of a severe water shortage," Mary says.

"A shortage?" Mew questions.

Flashback:

Mary then explains, "It wasn't that long ago when our river and well were overflowing. You see, farther upstream, there's a sacred spring that has always supplied us with clean, pure water. Our village has always believed that the Great Lombre Water Lord lives there and watches over it. But one night, a meteorite was seen falling near the Great Lombre's shrine. And since that moment, a Solrock has been seen in the forest near our village. While at the same time, the rains have mysteriously stopped and our spring has dried up. Many of the villagers, including my grandmother, are convinced that the Solrock is responsible for the drought."

Flashback ends

"So some believed that Solrock caused the trouble," Mew says.

"What do you think, Mary?" Zinnia asks.

" It doesn't make sense. How could that one Solrock have done any of this? There has to be a logical reason, a rational explanation with just a little bit more science," Mary says.

"Hmmm…" Mew wonders.

Soon, they hear chanting coming from outside before they all head out to find the other villagers chanting for Brock's Lombre, whom they assume to be the Water Lord.

"What's going on out here?" Brock asks.

Mary walks out and asks, "Grandma, what are you and the other villagers doing?"

"Mary, you should know. It's obvious we're performing a rain chant for the Great Lombre," Tallulah says.

" Did you say rain chant?" Mew questions

" Pika, Pika?" (Or is it Rain Dance?) Pikachu questions.

"Eevee?" (Who knows?) Eevee replies.

Tallulah then explains, "A Rain Dance is something only a water Pokémon, like the Great Lombre, can do. So we decided that by performing a rain chant near the spring, we'll refill the spring, our well and the river while driving out that evil Solrock at the same time."

"Ma'am, I think you're about Solrock. It actually saved my pokemon when we got into trouble," Mew says, "So there's no way that Solrock is evil."

"She's right," May says.

"It seems like a nice Pokemon," May adds.

"So there has to be another reason," Zinnia says.

" They're right, you're all just being superstitious. We need a logical, scientific approach. I suggest we figure out how water flows into our village," Mary says.

"You know science?" Tallulah questions.

" Well, I plan to get to the bottom of it," Mew says.

Then turns to Mary, "Any ideas?"

"We should check the earth under the spring to find out what really happened," Mary says.

But Tallulah says, "But you'll anger the Water Lord."

"Will you get off it!" Mary says.

Tallulah then says, " Enough! All this talk is pointless. Now, everyone, get back to the rain chant!"

The other villagers agree and head to the spring.

"Give it everything you've got!" Tallulah says.

The villagers proceed with their chanting and marching.

"Well, you have to admit, it's fun," May says.

"Yeah, but will it bring the rain?" May asks.

Brock then takes Mary's hand, "Mary, dear, might we have a dance of our own?"

Max then grabs Brock by the vest and pulls him away, "Maybe you should sit this one out."

Lombre starts dancing along with the chanting and music. That makes Mew and some of the others laugh.

"Looks like Lombre is getting into it too," Mew says.

Then the Pokemon join in.

"Go Lombre," Tomo says.

" Let's join in too!" Molly says.

With that, Tomo, Molly, and Jen, along with the Pokemon join in.

Tallulah happily says "It appears the Great Lombre approves and has joined us in our chant and march by shaking its groove thing!

Then some Bellossom, an Oddish, a Shroomish and a Seedot.

"Even the Pokémon in the forest are joining in!" Zinnia says.

"This is fun," Molly says.

"Do you think it's going to rain?" Max asks.

Everyone looks up and sees not a cloud in the sky.

" Not a cloud in the sky," Mew says.

" No good," Zinnia says.

"Admittedly, that was some workout," Tallulah says.

A villager agrees, "Indeed, it was, Tallulah."

" But what's the point if it doesn't rain?!" Mary asks.

Then Mew says, "Hey, maybe if they continue Solrock will hear and show up."

"Yeah. With all the Wild Pokemon joining in, Solrock will come too," May says.

"And we can help prove its innocence," Mew says.

"I don't know. Solrock can read minds, remember?" Brock says.

" I guess you're right, especially since the people are angry with it," Mew says.

Tallulah then says, " Hold on. It's not that we're angry, let's just say that Solrock isn't exactly a favorite Pokémon of ours."

"There's a difference?" Molly questions.

Then Brock has an idea, "Hey I know!" Then brings out his Solrock, "Come on out!"

And his Solrock is let out.

" Hey, you got a Solrock too," Max says.

" Great idea. If their Solrock sees yours dancing, it will get it to come for sure," Mew says

A bit later, the other villagers have left and everyone else is watching Lombre and Solrock dance from behind some bushes.

"I get it, Lombre isn't thinking any bad thoughts," Max says.

"Yeah, and that way Solrock won't feel threatened," Mew says.

"That way, Solrock won't have any reason to be defensive, and having a friend will help more," Brock says.

"That WOULD be an answer to a prayer," Tallulah says.

Everyone looks and sees Solrock show up.

"Solrock is here," Tomo says.

"I guess prayers can be answered quickly," Tallulah says.

Solrock and Brock's Lombre and Solrock begin to communicate.

"They're talking. That's a good sign," Mew says.

Skitty suddenly materializes and runs off behind.

" Skitty, what are you doing?" May cries out and runs after it, " Come back!"

" Oh, no! Wait!" Mary calls out and runs after her.

"May wait," Jen calls out as she and Amaura follow

May follows Skitty into a cave.

"Huh? What's this cave doing here?" May asks.

"It's really dark in there," Jen says.

" Don't worry, girls. I know this cave like the back of my hand," Mary says and gets out a flashlight, "Now let's go find your Skitty, May."

"Okay," Mary says.

Then the girls head off into the cave to find Skitty. They continue to walk deeper into the cave.

Not long, they walk deep into the cave as they search for Skitty.

"Skitty!" May calls out.

"Skitty!" Jen calls out.

They soon find Skitty.

"Skitty, you shouldn't just run away like that," May says.

Skitty points something out. Everyone looks and sees what looks like a pumping machine.

"What's all that?" May asks.

"It's a pumping machine," Jen says. Then realizes, "That's why all the water from your village has disappeared, Mary."

"You're right. Someone's been pumping out the water!" Mary says.

At the end of the cave, it is revealed that Team Rocket were responsible for pumping all the water out of the spring.

"A lot of work, but worth it," Jessie says, and (caps a bottle of water and hands it off to James

"Thanks," James says and hands it to Meowth.

Then Meowth places it in a box, "Next?"

"This job is perfect! I love when the cost of doing business is zero. Zip!" James says,

"And seeing how humans go crazy over bottled water, we're gonna make a mint!" Meowth says.

Wobbuffet then sees something through the binoculars, "Wooobbuffet! (Look at that!)

"What?" Jessie asks, and looks through the binoculars, "Let me have a look," And she sees through it, "Isn't that...the Solrock from earlier talking with a Lombre, and another Solrock?"

Then Meowth says, "Tink of how happy da boss would be if we caught dose three and presented them as a present!"

"I'm trying to think of how rare a Solrock is, but nothing's coming to me," James says.

And Meowth fantasizes again, "Foist ting in da morning, da boss will splash his sleepy faces wit a load of fresh water, from Lombre's. And since Solrock can generate heat, it'll dry off his wet face instantly. He'll have a great start to a great day under his belt, and he'll say: 'Because of dese wonderful Pokémon, I must tink of a reward for Meowth and his teammates.'"

Fantasy ends.

"And that means lots and lots of dough ray me! We'll be filthy stinking rich!" Team Rocket chant.

"Woooobbu!" (Aaaand how!) Wobbuffet says.

Suddenly, they hear May and Jen's voices, "Team Rocket!"

Team Rocket looks and sees Jen, May and Mary.

"So you're behind all this," Jen says.

"We should have known," May adds.

"You've got some nerve stealing all of our water!" Mary says.

Meanwhile, Lombre and the two Solrock were having a little dance party.

"Looks like Solrock is getting into the groove," Tomo says.

"Looks like they're having a party," Molly says.

"I think those three become good friends," Mew adds.

But then Tallulah says, "As far as I can tell, that dance may be a curse."

"A curse? Really? " Mew responds, dumbfounded, "To me, it looks like they're having fun."

"Hear me, my fellow villagers! If Solrock continues its dancing, we'll be cursed with more days with no rain!

"What?!" The villagers exclaim.

Just then, Mew rushes out and gets in front of the three Pokemon, "That's where you're wrong! Solrock is friends with Brock's Pokemon. I can tell."

"Never mind the girl's words! Stop that Solrock!" Tallulah says.

The villagers charge, "Charge!"

Solrock senses the oncoming humans and uses Confusion to lift them off the ground.

Mew turns to Solrock, "It's okay, Solrock. It's okay. They didn't mean any harm at all. They're confused. Don't be afraid. They won't hurt you.

Lombre agrees and convinces Solrock to put them all back on the ground.

"Thanks, Solrock," Mew says.

Solrock nods and responds, "Solrock." (You're welcome.)

Mew then says, "And I really want to thank you for saving my friends earlier."

"Sol Sol Solrock," (You're welcome, happy to help.) Solrock says.

Suddenly, they hear May's voice, "Hey, guys!"

Everyone looks and sees May, Jen and Mary running up.

"You guys, it's all Team Rocket's doing!" May calls out.

"Team Rocket!" Mew cries out.

"It's true! Team Rocket was the reason why the village's water was drained out," Jen says.

"I should have known!" Mew says.

"But I thought Solrock sent them flying earlier!" Zinnia says.

"Believe me it will take more to get rid of those three," Brock says.

Suddenly, the ground shakes.

"I feel that we're being punished!" Tallulah panics.

Team Rocket is heard laughing. And suddenly, Team Rocket bursts out of the ground with a massive robot. Then they begin the motto.

Jessie:

Prepare for trouble, we've drained you dry!

James:

And make it double, cause you may just cry!

Jessie:

To protect the world from devastation.

James:

To unite all peoples within our nation.

Jessie:

To denounce the evils of truth and love.

James:

To extend our reach to the stars above.

Jessie:

Name's Jessie!

James:

Don't forget James!

Jessie:

Team Rocket quenches their thirst for success at the speed of light.

James:

Surrender now and raise your glass or prepare to fight, fight, fight!

Meowth:

Meowth, dat's right!

Wobbuffet:

Wooobbu! (And cut!)

Mary points at them with "It's them! They stole all the water from the village!"

"Make sense to me!" Tomo says.

"Better than Solrock!" Zinnia says.

"That's low even for you three," Mew says.

In the robot, Jessie says, "Time to find that Lombre and two Solrock a new home, Meowth."

"Alrighty, den!" Meowth says and presses a button.

The robot launches a net that snares Lombre and the two Solrock

Brock calls out, "Quick, Lombre, use Razor Leaf, now!"

Lombre does so and cuts the net up, freeing it and Solrock

"Razor Leaf?!" Team Rocket exclaims.

Mew calls out, "Pikachu! Eevee Thunderbolt!"

They both charge in for the attack.

"I don't tink so, ya little brat!" Meowth says.

The robot suddenly fires a torrent of water at Pikachu and Eevee, hitting them and sending them flying.

"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew cries out and catches them,

Then Jessie says, "They all look a little thirsty to me."

"Likewise. Meowth, why don't you offer them a drink?" James says.

"Dis'll quench deir thoist," Meowth says.

Meowth directs the torrent of water at the villagers.

"Look out!" Mary cries out.

Solrock jumps in and takes the shot, shocking the villagers.

"Wait, Solrock should be weak against water!" Brock says.

"You're right. It's a Rock Type," Mew says.

Tallulah says, shocked, "Do you all see what I see?"

"That Solrock actually saved us!" Villager says.

Solrock's eyes start glowing and it begins to spin around.

"Solrock is spinning like a top," May says.

"Yeah, and Solrock gives off heat, so it's evaporating the water," Brock says.

"So, dat ain't enough? Okay, den! Bottoms up!" Meowth says, angrily.

Meowth increases the water pressure, but Solrock darts forward as it glows red before hitting the robot and knocking it and Team Rocket on their butts.

Then Mew says, "Pikachu! Eevee! Thunderbolt!"

"Lombre, Water Gun! Solrock, use Hyper Beam!" Brock calls out.

And soon, the Wild Solrock begins to perform a Solar Beam.

All five launch the attack and hits, causing the robot to explode and send Team Rocket flying.

"So much for our plan to sell bottled spring water!" Jessie cries out.

"There go all our liquid assets!" James says.

"Yeah, well speaking that, it looks like we can kiss our goodbye!" Meowth says.

Team Rocket cries out, "We're blasting off again!"

Back below, Solrock continues spinning so much that it can't stop.

"Uh oh," Mew says.

"Solrock is out of control," Mew cries out.

"It must have spin so much that it can't stop," May says.

"Is it just me, or is it getting hot," Tallulah asks.

Suddenly, the superheated air causes a bush to catch fire while Solrock, who is now on fire, heads toward the village.

"Solrock is heading toward the village!" Mary cries out.

"And it can't stop!" Molly adds.

Tallulah cries out, "You've got to help us, please, do something."

Brock calls out, "On it! Lombre, use Water Gun!"

Lombre fires the attack, and it slows Solrock down.

That's the way! Good shot!" Tomo calls out.

Then Brock calls out, "Mudkip, help Lombre out!"

Lombre and Mudkip fire their attack and they hit Solrock.

Brock calls out, "Solrock, help the Wolf Solrock stay in place!"

Brock's Solrock uses Psychic to help make it stay in place as it spins. The steam from the attacks rises up into the atmosphere and causes the clouds to clamor together.

"Look! They look like rain clouds!" May says.

"Must be all the water hitting Solrock's fire," Max says.

"Great Mudkip, Lombre, Solrock! Keep it going!" Brock says.

Soon, the clouds darken and the rain finally falls.

Tallulah cheers, "Yippee! It's raining!

Soon, the fire surrounding Solrock goes out and Solrock stops spinning.

"We did it!" Brock says.

Solrock turns toward the group as Mary rushes to the spring.

"The spring is filling up again!" May says.

The villagers, Lombre and the two Solrock rejoice and celebrate.

Tallulah smiles, "Oh, thank you, our dear Water Lord. And of course, thanks to the two Solrocks."

Some time later, the rain had stopped and everyone who lived in the village was drawing water from the well.

"Looks like everything is back to normal in Lombre Springs," Mew says.

"Thanks to you all, it is. You were all wonderful," Brock says.

"Oh, Mary, I can't decide," Brock happily says.

"What?" May asks.

Then Brock says, "You know, Maybe I should stay here with Lombre and protect you and the spring. What do you say?"

However, Brock saw Mary looking towards her grandma.

"What are you doing, grandma?" May asks.

"It's time that we show our gratitude to the Great Lombre," Tallulah says, "Oh, Great Lombre, you have protected our sacred spring for many years and for this we give thanks. However, from this moment on, Solrock will be the sacred guardian of our village and spring!" and removes her hat to reveal a Solrock headband, as do the other villagers.

"Well, at least they changed their minds about something," Mary says and turns to Brock, "Oh, Brock, I hope you weren't saying anything important."

"Oh, no!" Brock says and lowers his head, "Not at all."

Later that evening…

"Well, I guess it's time for us to get going," Mew says.

Tallulah says, "We can't thank you enough for all your help.

"She's right. Thanks a lot, you guys," Mary says.

Soon, the gang head off on their journey as the villagers say their farewells. And they also know that they're able to save the entire village from drought. Now it's on to Petalburg City and discovering more new adventures along the way in this mysterious world of Pokémon.

Solrock, who watches the gang go, says, "Solrock." (Farewell.)
