Robert was getting things together on his end, too. He wanted to have a few surprises here and there, including guests. He knew they were keeping it small, so he didn't go too crazy.
Ethan could see the sparkle in Robert's eyes. He loved seeing his parents so happy. "You really would do anything for her, wouldn't you?"
Robert looked over at Ethan and nodded. "For you and your sisters too. Your mum made me realize what I wanted, which made me a better person."
"I know she would say the same thing about you. Her showing off that wedding ring, she knew you weren't done. I asked her about what if you had moved on, and she always told me it that it didn't matter. You would find your way back." Ethan smiled then looked at Robert's tie.
Robert looked at him. "What is it?" He looked down.
"I've got tie duty tomorrow." Ethan admitted with a laugh.
Robert laughed. "Can I let you in on something?"
"Yeah go ahead." Ethan replied, taking a seat.
"I can tie it perfectly, but I love your mum doing it." Robert grinned.
Ethan laughed. "You know if Annie and I work out, I hope our relationship is full with as much love as yours and mum's."
Robert gave Ethan a pat on the back. "I do too. How are things going with you two?" Robert asked Ethan.
"Still slow, but we are doing this whole thing backward, the dating thing after Seana. She is incredible." Ethan's smile grew. He really did love Annie and hoped things worked out for them.
"Hey, I've seen that smile before. It's your mother's when she talks about me." Robert joked.
Ethan laughed. "You up to going out and having a beer? Celebrating tomorrow? I've got a few of your friends ready to join us if you are."
"Yes, let's have the whole experience." Robert smiled at his son. He loved that he set that up for him.
