It was Christmas Eve and Robert and Holly had their closest friends and family over. Seana was sitting with Robert on the couch looking at a book that Robert and Holly had gotten her. Robert was reading it to her and she was giggling at Robert doing the voices. Holly was absolutely loving watching it, just sitting there and thinking back to when Robin was little and he would behave the same way when she was in Australia.

Robin walked up to Holly and smiled. "I bet I know what you are thinking."

Holly's attention snapped back as she looked over at her dear stepdaughter. "What?"

"Thinking to when dad and you would act that silly with me when I was little." Robin sat down next to her stepmother.

"We really did have a lot of fun." Holly held those memories so close to her heart.

"We did, sometimes I don't think I let you know just what you mean to me. You and Duke really are like parents to me, too. I had the four best at times when I was little." Robin told Holly, speaking from the heart.

"I think I can speak for Duke too when I say we have the best stepdaughter. I remember how excited your dad was telling me all about you. I hope you know he would have given anything to have you with us but he didn't want to separate you from Anna." Holly was sure Robin knew but just wanted to tell her again.

"Oh I know that. He always made sure I knew I was loved. He also made sure I knew you loved me too. I was a lucky kid and I'm a lucky adult." Robin told Holly. "I know we kind of stopped spending as much time together once my mom came back from the dead, I always regretted that."

"As did I. I understood but you are very important to me. You always will be." Holly told Robin.

"What do you say in this new year we make more time for each other?" Robin knew they both had busy schedules but knew that family meant everything.

"I would really love that Robin. Also gives us an excuse to eat more ice cream which I am always for." Holly grinned at her stepdaughter.

Robin laughed, remembering many ice cream talks the two had had. "Me too."

Seana ran up and grabbed Holly's hand. "Grandma Holly, grandpa doesn't do the girl voices good!"

Holly laughed as she stood up. "Well then I'll come over and help him out." Holly walked over with Seana as the sat down on the couch. Seana giggling at her grandparents telling her the story.
