Chapter 4: They're Here
Suddenly, a horn blew, getting their attention. "They're here." Flik gasped, dropping the rock. More horns blew, getting everyone's attention. A few ants were blowing into conch shells as an alarm. "They're here!" They cried as they started running in a panic. "Mom! Where are you?" Dot cried as she, Flik and Harry's team started running back towards the anthill. Unfortunately, the harvester's grip snagged a grass blade, causing Flik to get pulled back. "Flik!" Ginny cried as she and the team turned back to help. "You okay?" Ron asked. "I'm fine. But we gotta get the food to the offering stone quickly. They'll be here soon." Flik said with worry.
"They're coming!" "Run!" The ants continued to cry as they continued to run in a panic. Even the ant with the berry bunch started running. "Dot! Dot!" The Queen cried. "Mom!" Dot cried as she ran through the panicking crowd to her mom. "Mom!" "Thank heavens!" The Queen said in relief as she hugged Dot. "Food to the offering stone." Atta said, trying to maintain order. But then, the Queen whistled loudly, getting everyone's attention. "Okay, everyone, single file. Food to the offering stone and into the anthill. Now let's go!" She ordered. The ants moved as ordered. "Go, go, go, go!" They shouted as those with food dropped off their food to the offering stone before heading straight for the anthill. Once inside, the ants made their way down to the lower levels. The Queen and Dot joined them inside their hiding chamber as everyone gathered.
"Come on. Keep moving, keep moving! Good." Atta said as she saw to the last of the ants. She took one last look to see if there was anyone left. "Okay. That's everyone." She said before flying into the anthill herself, not realizing that she forgot someone.
"Hey! Hey, wait for me!" Flik called as he and Harry's team came out of the grass. "Okay, Flik-dude, you know what to do, right?" Peyton asked as they continued running. "Get the food to the offering stone, then into the anthill." Flik said. As they ran up the slope, Harry's team helped Flik remove his harvester and left it on the stone. But as they ran back down, the harvester, which was still motorizing, fell off the stone, accidentally activating the catapult and hitting one of the stacked stones. That caused the offering stone to tip over and collapse. Flik and Harry's team heard the crash, turned around and saw what happened. Flik screamed at this. "The food!" Cho cried. They hurried over as the food was pouring over the edge. "No! No, no, no, no, no!" Flik panicked. "What do we do?!" Seamus asked. "The stem!" Tom exclaimed, pointing to the leaf's stem. The climbed up the stone and pulled the stem as hard as they could to try and prevent the food from going over. But it was no use. As the last of the food went over, Flik and Harry's team looked over the edge, seeing the food fall into the puddle below. "Oh no." Flik said with worry. "That's not good." Kaz said as he paled-up with worry. "We're in trouble." Jemima said. "We gotta tell the princess." Harry said.
"Princess Atta! Princess Atta!" Flik shouted as he and Harry's team ran for the anthill. "Princess ATTA!" He shrieked as they hurried inside. Just then, a large shadow started to cover the anthill.
